Let me tell y'all about the absolute tangent I went down when developing this lol

Part 2

So basically, when I got this ask I was like "That's such a fun prompt!", and got to work on designing Halfa!Val and Hunter!Danny. While working on the designs I had the question of 'What exactly would cause Valerie to be a half ghost?' followed by 'Why would Danny start hunting her?' which led me to develop a storyline (that has probably happened somewhere on the Internet (I'm not sure tho)) that I'm dubbing: Axiom AU.

The story goes as follows:

Valerie was with her dad at Axiom Labs (maybe it was bring your child to work day) and at some point she went to go find the restroom (or something), made a wrong turn, and accidentally found herself in a secret lab in the building.

The secret lab (which is totally not funded by Dalv co, what are you talking about?) has a ghost portal (based off stolen blueprints) that was built and ready to go, but something wasn't working. Valerie was curious, went to explore, and Tada: new half-ghost was born!

Like the show, the ghosts start coming through, except no one (minus Valerie) knows where they're coming from. Valerie takes it upon herself to fight the ghosts as Apparition (took the name to explain the Axiom logo on her suit).

Similar to how she is in the show, Valerie is more of a shoot first, ask questions later. She doesn't really take the time to learn about the ghosts until later on. She does her best not to hurt humans (even Catcher).

Between ghost fights and trying to find out what she can about Axiom, her grades started slipping and her friends (the A-Listers) are growing tired of her frequent absences. The school gives her a math tutor: the social outcast, Danny Fenton.

Danny Fenton hates ghosts. Well, he doesn't necessarily think they're evil like his parents say, but he hates them. His parents spend all their time studying ghosts and working on their stupid inventions. Most recently, his parents managed to punch a hole into the 'Ghost Zone' in their basement. While making the portal, they noticed a design flaw in their blueprints which took even more time away from their children. Jazz basically raised him.

Danny is wicked smart (and since he doesn't have to fight ghosts or learn new ghost powers, his grades are pretty high.) Mr. Lancer offered him a paid tutor position to teach science and math to struggling students. (Including A-Listers, like Valerie Gray)

When the ghosts started coming through, Danny's parents grew even more obsessed with their work, primarily targeting Apparition. Danny grew tired of it, thinking that if he caught Apparition, his parents might pay attention to him and Jazz again.

Danny begins his ghost hunter arc by inventing his own tech and incorporating his parents tech (along with the jumpsuit they made him). He becomes known as the Catcher. (Cause he catches ghosts in a thermos).

Anyways, the two fight a lot until eventually one day Danny catches Valerie and turns her over to his parents, only to find out it never fixed his problems. Danny saves Val, and the two work on restoring the relationship that developed while Danny was tutoring her.

There's more parts to this story, especially involving Vlad, but here's the basics!

I don't have too many headcanons but, I hope you enjoy..!

I like to think Kon is very artistically talented... That he designed the band logo... I know looking at his super hero outfit it wouldn't seem that way but shhhh he was on a time crunch and kept changing his ideas at the last second it's not his fault

I am so obsessed with the 'Riffins are demigods' thing. I wish to make Corey look more. non-human because of that.... only barely noticeable tho...like epic fangs... eyes glowing in the dark... taps chin. It leaves so much room for ideas. This isn't even a headcanon anymore I'm just crazy

Adding onto the last point I think both Trina and Corey would be eeeever so slightly off-putting in day to day life. Extra sensitive to sounds n stuff... I also get visions of Corey undercooking chicken and not getting salmonella like ever and the others are like huh that's weird but whatever. FORESHADOWING I TELL YOU.

As for favourite character... Thats a tough one... I know my profile is Laney-centric but I love all the characters... Though the reason the show stuck with me in the first place is because I was a hardcore Corney shipper as a kid... So I'll probably have to say Corey and Laney tied for first... I can't help it... they are stupid and infect my brain.

That being said I really like the way Trina is written as a villain. The way she talks is so endearing to me... And Mina's loyalty to Trina despite everything reminds me of my own experiences... I appreciate that Mina is very much ah. both a victim and an antagonist. And Nick Mallory is Nick Mallory, what's not to love?

Tldr; Laney and Corey are my favs.... by a HAIR. I love them all its too hard to pick.

Thoughts/wonderings on Dragon Age: The Missing #4, under a cut due to spoilers for The Missing -

I'm probably becoming a lil unhealthily obsessed with this building. what do we think it is? the Archon's Palace is the highest building in Minrathous (tho I guess not, as it has sewers and this is floating). A Circle? it has a similar shape to the logo for the Circle of Magi. the meeting place for the Magisterium senate, lording over everyone below from high above? whatever it is it looks cool and it must be important to be featured on the map. I wanna go there (๑*ᗜ*)

I love Neve Gallus' design. it's fresh and cool, and she just looks so cute and neat okay. also full of detail - the snake pattern on the headpiece, shoulder 'scales' and scales elsewhere, collar & jacket like one of those hooded snakes, snake-'tailcapped' footwear (rather than steel toe-capped), the serpent belt and of course most of all the beautiful snake design of her prosthetic limb. 10/10 character/costume design

I also liked this pair of illustrations, they had a nice 'bookend' feel and reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings.

Other thoughts:

Minrathous looks kinda cyberpunk and (despite what Harding says in the opening panels) feels quite clean in this comic

Is that the person tailing them lurking in the doorway that Harding is catching sight of here?

These holes in Varric's ear seem to be new. What happened? Injury from the leopard attack?

confused a bit by the perspective flip in this issue. In issue 1, Varric was more like 'stop', and Harding was more like 'talk to him'. it's flipped around a bit here.

Varric smiled when he thought about Neve and then lit up when he saw her. she calls him an "old friend". I wonder how they met and how long they've known each other. something to do with varric's spy network?

This panel felt a bit meta hh.

When Neve says "Your friend is quite intense" is she referring to Solas or Harding?

Then we come to the two main things we learn in this issue:

We learn that Solas has been in Minrathous causing trouble. He's been attacking Venatori locations in the city, stealing artifacts from them and freeing elven slaves in the process, which has greatly angered the Venatori. The Venatori now want revenge and a "bunch of rebellious elves" are "causing trouble throughout the city, presumably in the name of the one who freed them". I wonder if the artifacts weaken the Veil, are connected to the idol somehow, or are simply sources of great power that Solas either needs for himself/his plans or that he simply thinks should be taken away from the Venatori so that they don't cause harm using them? Tevinter Nights showed agents of Fen'Harel seeking artifacts and referenced rumors of elven artifacts that strengthen the Veil, like the ones from DA:I. freeing folks also makes sense, "I am not a monster" and it's something he has a history of doing

In this issue we also learn that Neve works with a group called the Shadow Dragons, who have been trying to help the former slaves. indeed they're trying to help anyone who is held as slaves in Minrathous. this is our first time hearing about this new group. they make it their business to help those in need and Neve makes it her business to help them. I'm a bit ¿ about their name, just due to how it sounds, but it's exciting to learn about a new group/faction. Each issue of this DA:D prequel comic has shone a spotlight on a faction - Grey Wardens, Antivan Crows, the Veil Jumpers and the Shadow Dragons. two new, two old. it's a nice balance. and it brings to mind the common fan theory/speculation about the PC of DA:D having a different faction background depending on the player's choice. at the very least it feels like a way of saying 'these four groups [or characters from them] will feature in a significant way/be 'players on the board' in DA:D".

thinking about the Shadow Dragons' name in an in-world context, like thinking about why they may have chosen their name: dragons are emblematic of Tevinter. dragon imagery is everywhere there, dragons are a symbol of power and Tevinter heraldry shows a dragon. the Tevinter Imperium is a 'dragon', or several (metaphorically) - Magisters, ruling over the classes below. the "shadow dragons" feel like "the other side" of Tevinter, the side in shadow, the underside, the 'anti-Tevinter'. I'd guess that they are the "Tevinter you forgot", i.e. the Viper's faction. (and if you look at Tevinter heraldry, there is also a snake 'in opposition' to the dragon.) before Missing #4 I wondered if “the Tevinter you forgot” "means they are a group of folks who have fallen through the cracks in Tevinter society or who are the downtrodden in Tevinter society. is it some sort of uprising or anti-Magisterium movement?" - here we learn they're trying to help people Tevinter 'forgot' like slaves and former slaves. I also commented "from the story it sounds like the dark-clad card dealer is the Viper. the magister in the story is afraid of him and tries to claim that the Viper is just a tale, implying that the Viper’s name has become known as a sort of shadowy, stealthy urban legend in Minrathous and that it has a sort of bogeyman effect on magisters." Shadow indeed. Neve later comments that the Shadow Dragons are trying to "help anyone held as slaves in Minrathous". I think it was in the Dorian short story in Tevinter Nights that there's a reference to how there's now an anti-slavery movement in Tevinter. Is that the Shadow Dragons? you can see possible echoes of "the Tevinter you forgot" in later comic dialogue "The Shadow Dragons have vowed to help us restore our dignity. To get back the lives that were stolen from us by the Venatori. To make sure we don't have to scrabble in the dirt for food and warm", imo.

I wonder if Dorian, Mae and the Lucerni know anything about the Shadow Dragons? maybe they've done some work together?

and while the Viper/Viper's faction/the Shadow Dragons themselves didn't appear in issue 4, issue 4 still highlighted them, continuing the pattern I speculated about, of the DA Day short stories (Evka/Antoine/Wardens, Teia/Viago/Crows, Strife/Irelin/Veil Jumpers and Viper's faction/Shadow Dragons), one from each of those short stories per issue.

Varric is still having a bad time. also he was born in 9:1, and so if DA:D is set in 9:52, he's now over 50. from these comics, he's feeling old and tired. I don't expect that he'll be a companion in DA:D. more like an advisor (off-field), a contact or quest-giver, or the person that recruits us.

"But why? What did he get out of it? Surely, he wanted something in return" was an interesting line. because like on one hand "I am not a monster", he has a history of freeing people who were enslaved and he's shown as valuing freedom and not enjoying needless suffering. setting people free definitely is the only decent thing. but he's also smart and does things with purpose, always playing 4-D chess, and has been outwitting Varric and Harding at every turn throughout these comic issues, always one step ahead. it seems like a 'it's both' situation. like two birds, one stone. he would free people and it's the right thing to do, and he also gains from it strategically. Varric lampshades this in the final page: and it's three stones, actually. Solas freed people, dealt with the Venatori on his tail and slowed Varric/Harding down long enough to escape all in one move.

Also, at first I wondered if the brown-haired elf was sort've projecting his own perceptions on Solas (with the "his kin" lines). but look here. the leader of these Venatori has a pouch round their neck. the others don't, it's prominently placed and it's consistent on this Venatori in every panel they're in here. and where have we seen that before? around the neck of the Venatori stalker that saved Varric from the leopard in Issue 3. I think we're supposed to conclude that the ringleader of the Venatori that attack the elves in this issue is the Venatori person that's been tailing Varric and Harding all throughout these comic issues. the Venatori ringleader seems to recognize Varric in a later panel, with the "You!". They fight and Varric starts demanding answers from the Venatori leader. but then, just as he's about to get answers, the brown-haired elf intervenes and kills them at that very moment. they won't hurt their people anymore, and conveniently also (more than one purpose to things again..), now Varric and Harding won't get any answers. and also this:

another - not two, but - three stones. when the brown-haired elf kills the Venatori ringleader, A) preventing them from further harming his people and B) preventing them from giving any answers to Varric and Harding, C) the killing blow also cuts that pouch from their neck. a very specific thing to depict. presumably in the chaos of the Venatori leader's death (you can't see the elf's hands in the very next panel) the brown-haired elf has grabbed the pouch, and part of his goal all along was to take it. I think we're supposed to conclude that the pouch contained the crucious stone and that the brown-haired elf works for Solas. so the "You're too late, I already have the crucious stone" letter from issue 3 was a Solas fakeout, the Venatori at that point in time did in fact have the stone (having beaten Solas to the vault, and as-shown by the Venatori who saved Varric from the leopard having the pouch around their neck), and the events of issue 4 were part of Solas' plan to steal it/steal it back from them (and going by Neve's earlier dialogue, it's not the first artifact he's stolen from them). so two things here: one, Solas' 'three stones' are actually-actually four (free the slaves, deal with the Venatori on his tail, delay Varric/Harding long enough to escape, and steal the crucious stone artifact from the Venatori [my head hurts]). and two, the brown-haired elf was working for Solas after all. he'll give the pouch (and the contents, the stone) to Solas, "he set us, his kin, free" wasn't projection considering that he does work for him, and him being there in the alleyway when he was, with the information that he had, was part of Solas' plan to escape and get the stone. otherwise, it's pretty convenient that one of the former slaves at the place Neve's aware of where former slaves have been eating scraps, at the time when she takes Varric/Harding there, just happened to have helpful info about the meeting that Varric/Harding needed and also happened to kill the Venatori leader and in the process cut the pouch from their neck. idk if it means all the elves here were working for Solas or just the brownhaired one or the brownhaired one & the blond one, but yea. definitely the brownhaired elf is I think.

Neve fighting was cool: staff-less magic and then as a mage using a dagger or shortsword.

just really liked these two panels :) also, they missed their chance, they missed this chance, in this, a comic called The Missing... is that why it's called that?

I am not sure that I agree with the premise of this article that BioWare retweeted, that The Missing is required reading before DA:D. I enjoyed issues 2 & 3 a lot! I was hoping for a bit more from the end of issue 4, perhaps a small Solas appearance like at the end of Dark Fortress or just a bit more insight into his plans or things in/the setup for DA:D. finishing on the Dread Wolf mural from the DA:D TGA 2020 trailer as a reminder was neat but the highlight reveal from these comics as a whole was definitely the new mural depicted in issue 3.

"He knows us too well, we need to find/use people he doesn't know" is the same conclusion that was reached at the end of Trespasser (and Harding was present for that conversation). I guess the meta irl reasons for The Missing are: A] since it'll be almost 10 years irl between games, to refresh folks about that conclusion and the fact that it will be a new PC and why it has to be 'someone he doesn't know', since most new players to the franchise at DA:D aren't going to buy years old DA:I and DLC and play til it the end of Trespasser B] fill some irl time C] do some marketing/advertizing and D] highlight these four groups/factions and introduce the two new ones (Veil Jumpers and Shadow Dragons) in advance of DA:D, and possibly highlight these specific characters (Strife, Teia, Evka etc) the same way (though I speculate those characters are more like DA:D 'contact' cameos rather than that they will be companions themselves). Certainly if I was Varric at the moment when Harding asks "So who are you thinking?" at the end here, after the events I had experienced and people & groups I had met in recent weeks, with those being fresh in my mind, I would be thinking about the Grey Wardens, the Antivan Crows, the Veil Jumpers and the Shadow Dragons, both as groups and terms of the mental list of people that I had recently met who Solas doesn't know. again it makes you think about the popular speculation that the DA:D PC will have the background of being from one of these groups. also, those 4 groups aren't ones which were referenced in Tevinter Nights as keeping an eye on Solas/as Solas having some info on them in turn (unlike some other groups like the Mortalitasi, the Executors, the Ben-Hassrath etc).

Thinking of, like,, since Kazui is clearly Going Through It and can't forgive himself, what if Fuuta approached him, trying to convert him? That having Faith will Free Him from the guilt he holds in his soul.

And Kazui just gives him a sad look, seeing Fuuta being Like That just hurts. From his way of speaking, so oddly calm, so unlike him, as if Fuuta isn't even quite there, his mind absent and disconnected from the words he's speaking. And the clothes too, similar to a highschool boy uniform (similar to what Haruka wore in one of the MVs)... That's so unlike Fuuta, who hated being treated as a kid, whether they actually did or if he just assumed they did (example, when Mahiru offered to add sugar to his coffee). It doesn't make sense for Fuuta, of all people, to wear something like that, and yet, here he is.

Also, Kazui checking to see if Fuuta at least has a stick-on patch under the rag he hides the eye with. And his expression changing to worried one as he sees the open wound underneath with nothing protecting it. With a sigh, he goes to wash his hands and get first aid kit. He's no doctor, but he can't just let Fuuta's injury get infected, so he does what he can, cleans it up, and puts a stick-on eyepatch. Fuuta protesting at first, saying this is against the teachings, that it's going against his beliefs, and how both he and Kazui will be in danger for practicing medicine. Kazui telling him that it's fine if he keeps the patch hidden, after all, it's not like anyone will see it under the bangs and that rag with the logo. With how Fuuta is like right now, doesn't fight for what he believes anymore and instead just follows along what he's told, he just accepts that, and doesn't protest further — which further hurts Kazui emotionally, as he expected Fuuta to argue more on it, and it sinks in just how much Fuuta changed. But hey, at least Fuuta accepts medical treatment, even if it means having to convince Fuuta to hide it (and it didn't even take a lot of convincing).

RAAAGHHHHH I'm so obsessed with the idea of tragic T3 KazuFuu, but this is a level of tragic beyond what I've conjured up so far. 😭 The tender love and care and hurt... Maybe Kazui harbors even more guilt in knowing that this could have been avoided if he was there to protect Fuuta not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

NieR Automata anime episode 9

Continuing commentary from [part 1], [part 2-3], [part 4-5], [part 6] and [part 7-8]. (Coming soon to canmom.art.)

Episode 9: hun[G]ry for knowledge

This is a big episode, mapping to two big moments in the game that have been kind of smushed together.

So, following 9S getting captured in episode 8, 2B pursues 9S into an underground space. 9S, meanwhile, is in cyberspace, where Adam taunts him for having desires and repressing them. This is a very memorable moment in the game...

...whose interpretation merits an entire page on theark.wiki.

The anime adds an extra element of bondage imagery...

You want to destroy everything, you have lost hope in everything, you want to obtain everything, you want to be loved by all, says Adam. 9S has a convincing rebuttal: no I don't.

Meanwhile, after Commander White refuses backup, 2B, Pod 042 and Pod 153 enter the Copied City. This is one of the most distinctive environments in the game, a city made of white material with bright directional lighting so that the shapes are defined by sharp shadows and ambient occlusion only.

The backgrounds here are pretty much all 3DCG, at least for the outdoor areas you visit in the game - I think it's pretty likely they just used the game assets directly lol. This allows some showy camera moves. But unlike the game, the church-like building at the end of this courtyard is open...

In the game, we don't learn a lot about why Adam builds the Copied City beyond his general obsession with humanity. Here, it seems to tie in with the more artistic side he's showing in following 2B and 9S around, sculpting dozens of humans in relief:

and even taking a leaf out of Simone's book and making a sculpture of the YoRHa logo out of dead androids:

We also get a visit to a very familiar location...

...Devola and Popola's library from the original NieR. In the game, you encounter a replica of the library inside the Tower during the C/D route; here, it's moved over to be the setting for the big confrontation with Adam, since I guess we're skipping the outdoor boss arena. It's also the setting for...

...the reveal about the aliens. (In the game, this part happens a bit earlier, when the fight against Engels makes a big hole in the ground leading to the alien spaceship. You go into the spaceship and meet Adam and Eve; Adam gives a speech about how the machine lifeforms destroyed their creators while you fight them, and then they run off. So the anime has folded these two encounters into one.)

Adam also offhandedly mentions that the humans which the androids are fighting to protect are already dead. Not news if you've played the game, or indeed played the previous game, but it's definitely news for 2B.

And speaking of Adam, he's animated gloriously in this episode.

I particularly loved the over-the-top acting in this cut, with the little licky-licky and everything. That's the kind of thing you just can't easily do with game rigs so I'm glad the anime animators went all out on this melodramatic twink.

So, much as in the game, Adam explains his ideas about humanity to 2B, and taunts her with threatening to torture 9S in order to bait her into expressing the emotions that so fascinate him, caressing 9S's face as he explains the tortures he plans to inflict. 2B doesn't have the fujo energy to appreciate it tho so they fight. It's a strong series of action cuts that sadly end all too abruptly.

In the game, you fight, beat Adam, and that's pretty much the end of the sequence. In the anime, I guess they judged that would not be a very satisfying resolution, so they added a few more elements to the arc.

Perhaps anticipating the scenes in the Tower later where the machines create duplicates of 2B, Adam creates a replica of 9S. Considering 2B (2E) basically exists to kill off 9S over and over again, and she knows full well this is only a replica as Adam states explicitly, it's interesting that she stops here. To Adam, it's further proof that they are alike, and both akin to humans.

Since 'summon 9Ses' seems to be the unbeatable strat, Adam has them start strangling 2B - foreshadowing, eh?

The tall windows here are highly reminiscent of the architecture of the Shadowlord's castle, not sure how much I should read into that.

Anyway, the end of the fight comes in a pretty goofy twist: earlier in the episode when 2B sent Pod 153 away, Pod 153 actually refused, and was hacking Adam throughout the whole fight, so 2B was just buying time. To indicate the hacked state, the Copied City turns from pure white to pure black (well, mid grey, but shh)...

Black/white symbolism has become a core motif of the series in Reincarnation, and of course YoRHa are heavily associated with black, so I can see where the idea comes from... it just seems a bit silly to have this 'I've been hacked' visual indi. As a rewrite... it moves the focus/agency from 2B to pod 153. It's interesting to have the pods be more active characters, but it seems a shame to detract from 2B's 'scarily good in a fight' side.

The biggest divergence, however, comes at the end: 2B goes to stab Adam after his defences have been disabled, and Adam welcomes it (fitting his fascination with humanity and mortality as in the game), but this time Eve intervenes, somehow appearing in between 2B and Adam and getting stabbed in Adam's place. Suggesting that Eve has also cut himself off from the network? Lots of questions raised by this! Anyway, we get a double Pietà pose as 2B escapes with 9S and Adam leaves with Eve's body...

In the game, after Adam dies, 2B and 9S go back to the factory area and encounter a machine death cult. Meanwhile, Eve goes berserk and forces the connected Machine Lifeforms into a red-eyed hostile state: their faces get torn open, and they viciously attack the androids. In case that's not enough, we even see the symbol of the Church of the Angels on his body. Drakengard shit ahoy.

This time Adam is the one who lives, so perhaps things will play out differently? This writeup has reached the horizon of episodes I've seen so far, so the next episode will be new to me, even if I'm still currently way behind what has aired...

All in all, it's an interesting remix of the game's material. Thematically it hews pretty close to the corresponding scenes in the game, but there's some neat little embellishments to keep things interesting, and I really enjoyed the animation on Adam. Hoping for something spicy in the season finale.

The puppet skit at the end of this one concerns 2B and 9S coming up with T-shirt designs. They're pretty cute. I have no idea how many are actual merch lol.

Horror Media, but ESPECIALLY internet horror... so like, analog horror, digital horror, found footage, the likes. We do have some favorites tho!! and those are : Lacey's Games, The Mandela Catalogue, Vita Carnis, Daisy Brown, Everymanhybrid, Marble Hornets, Literally ANYTHING made by VibingLeaf on youtube, The Backrooms by Kane Pixel, and more that im probably forgetting

Drawing / Painting, both digital and traditional. We are character artists, and primarily character designers. So thats to say we suck at composition and backgrounds /silly/

Graphic Design. A good few of us toy around with designing logos, and flags, and userboxes- We love making pretty looking stuff because we cant work in a space that isn't aesthetically pleasing [shout out to on our our obsessive-compulsive disorders].

Writing / Poetry. I'm getting fired up at the thought of talking about my fantasy series, but I will sustain my control- We're HUUUUGE into writing, especially our own original stories, though we wish we had enough fandoms to write fics for. We tend to be a bit more goofy in our writing, and mature, but we've been told we have a decent writers voice for our characters which EEEEE when i was told that it was the biggest compliment ever,...

Speaking of fandoms!! We are in... literally none :( We don't know how to engage in fandoms anymore, or how to get attached to media, but in terms of fandom media, we like Steven Universe, KinitoPet, Minecraft [no mcyt's tho tbh], Stardew Valley, and Marble Hornets. I'm sure there is more, but I really don't interact in fandoms asides reposting fanart. We wish we could get attached to media like we did in our youth, but its an overall attachment issue :( We've lately been looking back into MLP stuff, but we can't draw ponies [we have pony ocs tho!]

Witchcraft / Paganism. We're a Solitary Witch with a 'specialization' in Candle Magick and Sigils.

Singing and Playing Instruments. Formerly, we were a Flute Player, but now we mostly play out 3rd baby, our Bass Guitar. We're very much music fans, and our musical roots on one side of my family goes back to, like, 1482 [thank you grandma for the genealogy folder on that one]. We mentioned it somewhere, but we have perfect pitch [as a result from all the music in our bloodline] and all we use it for is pitch matching tech. When we play our bass, thats how we do song covers tho! Because we can't read bass clef,,,, only treble.

Organizing Information and Data. Admittedly, this is more one specific cohost, but he's honestly gotten us all to like it to a certain extent.

Animation, stop motion and digital- We used to do traditional too, but it's wicked hard.

Long story but basically my real name is pronounced differently than whats written down (Because native language just pronounce the letters differently) And so I was quickly like; 'hmmm I need to find something thats still pretty close to my own name, but also everyone knows how to pronounce' And quickly I came up with the name 'Luka' Which is only once letter removed from my own. And then I just kinda wanted to have a cool username for it, so I had thought of many different things until I came up with "Luckalot" And that just kinda stuck. However, people I met online started calling me "Luck" Because of it, and honestly I have grown very fond of that name!!! hello im going on anon b/c anxiety but i have a theory/observation thing to share.

okay so today (at least where i live) is Friday the 13th and that feels like some spooky stuff and MCR might get back on their witchy bullshit and post something – honestly tho idk what they would post b/c they prolly wanna do more lead-up

ok but the real thing i wanted to say was BRIAN FUCKING SCHECTER's (ooo yay bad spelling go brr) TWITTER. ok so he posted some real cryptic shit that I gotta tell u about (idk who else to scream too)

okay so the first thing he posted is "such a nice day..." which is weird because he literally hasn't tweeted since 2013-ish? also i wouldn't be able to tell because HE DELETED ALL OF HIS OLDER TWEETS

the FIRST thing is that the MCR band name/logo is BACKWARDS on the album cover , and Brian tweeted this weird keysmash: sidnuces dcv

so I was listening to My Chemical Fancast (amazing fucking podcast) and they were talking about Brian's twitter, and how MCR is obsessed with latin + stuff now, so i plugged his tweet into latin--> english google translate

that didn't come up with anything, so i REVERSED it and plugged it into google translate and got this: vcd secundis, which means vcd seconds (according to google)

so THEN,,, I went and did some roman numeral bullshit and i think the vcd means 5,400. so basically his weird tweed COULD mean 5,400 seconds, which is 1.5 hours and THEN 1.5 hours after his tweet after that Foundations dropped. so I have a feeling Brian knows a lot and will probably keep being a cryptic motherfucker. so idk. watch out for Brian cuz he tweeted AGAIN, basically just a "good morning" but idk. maybe I'm reading a lot into it,, but the way his twitter presence sparked back up CANNOT be a coincidence. i am also fully prepared to lose my fucking mind today. anyway thx for letting me lose my absolute shit in your ask box. bye.

as far as i know he also tweeted, after the one you're talking about, '5400 seconds for the record' which was tweeted at 130pm pst before the 3pm song drop. 5400 seconds is 1.5 hours like you said. he deleted it later and clarified that 'for the record' was like. '5400 seconds, for the record' not like. and hour and a half long album. he didnt want it to be misleading.

but yea, brian is back on for the reuniuon. so he doesn't just know a lot, he likely knows everything. including whether or not theres an album, and when it will drop if it does. considering his pre-song tweets i think we should definitely be keeping an eye on his twitter. ill probably put him on notifs.

The doors of the black car opened and you and Timothée were immediately surprised by the flashes of the cameras.

It was the first film you shot with him and this was its premiere.

When you both got out he looked at you and leaned down to you.

"Are you excited?" He asked. You nodded hesitantly and looked at the crowd.

"You look beautiful", you looked at him with a smile.

"You are beautiful" he added and touched your hand which made you blush.

Why this felt different in public than it was in private was because your marriage was secret.

You’re sure that everyone had already figured it out, but he still did it in secret. You have a great acting career like Timothée, but you still value your privacy. When you talked about it at the time, he said:

"You can make it public at any time, it is your decision when our marriage is no longer a secret"

So you had decided to tell it after the official premiere at the interviews.

"Do we want to go, darling?" He asked and you nodded eagerly. You walked ahead in your white dress and thus past the crowd that began to scream.

First of all, it was her husband's turn to pose in front of the huge Dune logo while you signed autographs, took photos or answered questions.

There were these simple questions like: “How was it shooting with Timothée?” Or “How did you like the filming?” To this one question from a fan: “May I ask what's going on between you and Timothée?” You laughed softly and replied "I think your question will be answered later." The fan just nodded and you kept walking.

When you were asked to pose for photos in front of the cover, it was Timothée's turn to answer questions.

The flashes from the cameras didn't bother you at all, you were just too used to them.

Several poses later, Timothée came up to them and they looked at him.

"Did you miss me, darling?" You laughed and looked at the cameras again. When you turned your gaze to the right, you saw your husband doing his usual pose.

You giggled and said, "I love that when you do that" he looked at you a little shocked.

"Timmi, I'm talking about the pose," you laughed, "I think your fans also like it very much."

He put his arm around your waist and pulled you up to him, laughing.

At some point you no longer posed as a pair but with the whole cast.

You loved this appearance in front of your fans and it was even nicer that Timothée could join you. He had persuaded you to go to a casting for the film and after you had agreed, everything took its course. You found that your work together brought your relationship closer together and have no regrets.

This was already one of you favorite evenings, but now the duo interviews were waiting for you two.

When the interviewer introduced himself, it was difficult for you to concentrate properly, there was just so much in your head and since Timothée noticed this, he answered the questions obediently. It was the same "how was it on set" or "what was the best thing about the shoot?"

But when he asked how you met you felt obliged to tell. "Timmi and I share the same group of friends and we met 4 years ago at a birthday party," you said with a smile.

"What did you think of each other back then?" He asked further.

"I thought he was cute." You smiled. "The first thing I did was go to my best friend and ask what his name is."

Timothée smiled and said, “My very first thought was, I've never seen a girl so pretty. I mean in her blue dress she just looked amazing. "

He could still remember your dress?

"Back then I had a picture taken of us and swore to myself that after the party I would ask my friends if they knew her." He laughed. "Oh, the picture" you laugh with him.

Timothée took out his cell phone, opened photos and showed the picture to the interviewer.

“You could have thought you were a couple. Have some done that? "

“My father” he started laughing “when I showed my parents the picture of us his first words were: Why didn't you bring your girlfriend with you? And my mother's words were that she is very pretty.” You blush at these words. You'd never heard the story of it. "My father wanted to see him in person and my mother was already planning the wedding," you said with a laugh.

“With regard to your relationship from 4 years ago, what has changed between you?” The interview continued.

"A lot," said your husband quickly.

You returned "a lot".

"Could you ever imagine more than friendship between you?"

You looked at Timmi.

“The only question is whether a marriage is more than friendship,” you said.

You shocked both men with those words.

"Congratulations you two," he called friendly and you had to smile at Timmi's face.

"So you can be called y / n Chalamet now?" You nodded and felt your husband's hand on hers.

"May I ask how long you had to keep this great secret to yourself?"

“About half a year” replied Timothée for her.

"I think you can now expect some congratulations and questions from your fans, but I would like to thank you and congratulations again."

"Thank you that we were allowed to be here."

The interview was done.

You had revealed the secret.

When you and Timothée had left the room, he pulled her close and kissed her.

It felt like a reward for what you just did because he knew exactly that they'd rather keep everything to themselves.

"You are beautiful, darling." You giggled.

"I love you" you said back and leaned your head on his chest.

You didn't even know how quickly those 4 years had passed.

But you wouldn't change anything about this story.

Bruno x Chubby, Shy Reader with a Phoenix

Despite what some might think, there actually is a nineth division in the Top of Horns. A very small and quiet one that is. They're called the Scales, run by Ester Fae. She's an enthusiastic old woman with carmel skin, long beaded hair and pointed ears like that of an elf ( tho no one's sure of she actually is one ). Her division is so overlooked to the point where it's pathetic. No one takes them seriously because they care for and protect mythical creatures.

You'd think that would be important in a world like this, but considering that the more dangerous creatures are usually put down and or experimented on, not so much. So besides the dragons owned by high ranking Wing Bind officials, their most lethal case would be the blind griffin or the manticore with no teeth. All the other creatures were harmless, cute and even babies. Needless to say they were looked at as softies. Their logo being a heart shaped dragon scale didn't help.

" What's so great about the Scales? All they do is play with griffin cubs all day."

" Yeah. Bunch a slackers."

" Waste of funding if you ask me."

It all made Y/n boil with rage, although they'd never outwardly show it. They loved their job. How dare people undervalue it! Sure they played with griffin cubs but those things liked to bite dammit! Hell, they had the scars to prove it!! They had quite a few small scars actually. Caring for magical creatures wasn’t always fun and games. Thankfully they were able to befriend animals much easier than most. Thats why they were Ester’s star pupil. 

It’s also why they’d been sent to Top of Horns meetings in Ester’s place. The poor woman had gotten severely hurt during the capture of a very rare and powerful creature: a phoenix. It was about the size of an average dragon and just as lethal as one. Y/n, and even Ester despite her injuries, couldn’t blame it judging from the broken chains around its neck and its bloody feathers. Thankfully Ester pull in under a sleep spell before any more damage was caused. Now they all had to decide what to do with it.

Y/n was more than willing to help. It’s just that they were shy and skittish as hell, especially around powerful people. Calm a raging dragon? Sure no biggy. Say good morning to Sullivan Squire without squeaking?! Hell no. They stood off to the side for awhile, no seats were left. Then Bruno noticed them.

“ Why are you here?” he asked, it wasn’t meant to sound rude but it did all the same.

“ U-uh...you know..the phoenix...” Y/n managed to murmur.

He nodded, got out of seat, found another chair then put it next to his. They looked at him dumbfounded. Bruno Bangnyfe wasn’t known for being gentlemanly.

“ Well? Don’t just stand there looking pretty, get over here.” 

Their face instantly flared with heat. 

Y/n coming to the meeting at all was hard enough. Now they had to convince everyone to keep the phoenix alive and sit next to Bruno?! This was gonna be a long meeting. 

That was around five months ago. To Y/n’s surprise the Top of Horns not only spared the phoenix but also left it under her care. Ester was beyond proud. As expected, the phoenix was very hostile. Over time, however, she began to trust Y/n more and more. Within the fifth week, she let them pet her feathers while they sat next to her. She was still a bit weary around the other Scales workers, but she didn’t attack them anymore. Ester had come back too. The two got along as if the attack never happened, but Y/n expected that.

What they didn’t expect was Bruno continuously visiting them for “ check ins. ” It was nothing out of the ordinary. He’d look at the phoenix’s condition, see if she would attack him or not then leave. One day he brought his dragon, Rickenbacker. To both his and Y/n’s surprise the two became instant friends, chasing each other around the inclosure like a pair of puppies. This lead Bruno to bring Rickbacker over for playdates while him and Y/n talked. After a while Bruno started to grow on them, but they knew it was just a meaningless crush.  He had admirers all over Reverse London. There’s no way he’d like the awkward, potato-shaped Scales worker right?

Y/n came in early for their shift, throwing on their uniform lab coat and greeting the other Scales workers as they went by. They arrived at the giant inclosure and typed in the passcode. The inside was set to a moderately high temperature and was full of massive plants and flowers. The glass dome roof allowed the sunlight to pass through as if they were really outside. Despite how overlooked the Scales were, they did have good enough funding.

“ Topaz!” Y/n called out.

There was a strong gust of wind followed by a loud whoosh sound as the phoenix landed in front of them. 

“ Topaz! Oh I missed you. Weekends are too long.” Y/n cooed as Topaz chirped happily and leaned down to nuzzle into them.

Y/n gladly pet her fluffy feathers. The hue of them had improved drastically. Instead of a dark red they were now multiple shades of yellow, orange and pink blending into one another. 

“ Your flying’s improved a lot. You’re so fast that I could barley see you.”

Topaz’s now no longer cracked beak stretched into a smile. She loved compliments. 

The fun was cut short when the door unlocked. Behind them entered two familiar faces. Topaz let out an excited screech and instantly ran towards Rickenbacker, who did the same. 

“ Wait!” they halted.

Y/n pulled down Rickenbacker’s bandaged wing. They took some of the wrapping off to check the wound which had now began to scar over.

“ Ok you’re all good. Go play.” 

The two immediately ran off. Y/n began to follow them before a hand fell on their shoulder.

“ No ‘good morning’ for me, Y/n?” Bruno said with a frown.

“ O-oh, yes good morning. Sorry, I was bit distracted.” 

“ Oh..right. I was worried that you were still mad about...you know...”

Y/n’s heart sank.

“ I was...but I’m over it now. I know that you were just doing your job. Cinderella was a threat, dragon or not. I doubt we’d be able to take care of her anyway...”

“ Well,” Bruno sighed. “ I guess I brought this ‘please don’t hate me’ gift for nothing.” 

He pulled out a freshly baked cupcake from behind his back. They gasped.

“ My favorite!” they instantly took a bite and groaned. “ So good. Thanks Bruno.” They then noticed a slight blush on his face. “ Something wrong??”

“ Hm? Oh! No no. You know how hot it gets in here.”

They didn't question him and made their way to where the two were most likely playing, Bruno followed. They sat on a nearby bench and watched Rickenbacker and Topaz play with a few of the toys left in the inclosure. 

“ So,” Bruno said as he finished his own baked treat. “ Did you ask Ester yet?”

“ No.” Y/n sighed. “ You know how hard it is to claim ownership of a rare mythical creature. Not to mention getting clearance to ride one and learning how to on top of that.” 

“ You can't know if you don’t try. Besides, didn’t you say that Topaz has probably been in captivity all her life? Where else is she gonna go? She loves you more than anything so she might as well belong to you.”

“ I know but...” Y/n closed in on themselves.

“ You’re scared?”

Y/n nodded. They remained silent for awhile. 

“ I’d just need really good, solid proof that Topaz wants to be with me too. Without it, the file might never get approved.”

Bruno thought on that. Then he got an idea.

“ Now that I think about it, I remember reading a long time ago that a phoenix’s feathers will match its rider’s emotions.” 

“ Oh yeah! I think it was in an old fairytale, but I doubt its tru-” Their eyes widened when they looked back at Bruno. “ Why’s your shirt off???” 

Bruno gave them a mischievous grin.

“ What? I told you it gets hot in here. Besides, I’m wearing an undershirt aren’t I?” 

“ Y-yeah but-”

“ Uh-uh. I’m not taking judgement from a cannibal.”

Y/n’s brain nearly lost a screw.

“ A what!!” 

Bruno chuckled.

“ You heard me.” he said lowly, leaning closer to them. “ You devoured that cupcake as if you aren’t one yourself.”

Y/n’s entire being went ablaze.

“ I..I-I....I’m not..I’m not a-”

“ Sure you are,” he purred. “ So sweet and soft,” he emphasized his point by putting a hand on their side and giving it an affectionate squeeze, making them squeak in surprise. “ Not to mention that you always smell so good.”

They were so close that Y/n could feel his sugar coated breath faintly dust their cheeks.

“ Umm...t-thanks its the shampoo that I use. Would you like to try some-”

They paused once they noticed Bruno’s hands go on either side of the bench behind them, pinning them. 

“ Do you know what else I like about you?”

They gulped.

“W-what...”

Bruno leaned in closer, if that was even possible. Y/n could see every shade of blue in his eyes. Were his eyelashes always that long? He’d look good with eye makeup. Actually he’d make anything look goo-wait no why are they spacing out this is serious!!

“ Despite how shy you may appear on the surface, I know you’ve got a fire in you. This burning determination to protect creatures that could take down cities if they wanted. I saw it for the first time at that meeting all those months ago. I’d never heard you speak louder than a whisper, let alone with such confidence. You even got Sullivan’s attention with that spark of yours.”

Y/n managed to look away.

“ I don’t have a spark. You’re being silly.”

Bruno gently took hold of their chin and turned their gaze back to him. They were stunned by the sincere, soft smile on his face.

“ Maybe I am. You have that effect on me. Cute things always did drive me crazy.”

Bruno thought they were cute!!!

Oh that did it! They have to make a move. This is their shot!

“ Bruno I-”

All of sudden he moved their face towards Topaz and Rickenbacker. Confused, they stared at the two and came to one hell of a sight. Topaz’s feathers had turned a soft shade pink and were also fluffed out like a scared cat’s tail. She didn’t react to the change, but Rickenbacker sniffed at them with concern then stopped when he couldn’t find a threat. 

Y/n merely gawked, unable to process everything. They hadn’t noticed Bruno putting his shirt and jacket back on.

“ Well that should be enough proof.” he gave them a solid pat on the shoulder, knocking them back to reality. “ Feel free to call if you need any good flying trainers.”

He called Rickenbacker and made his way to the exit. It dawned on Y/n what that whole flirting thing was for.

Of course it was that. He didn’t mean any of it. Dammit I nearly embarrassed myself back there! 

“ Wait I forgot something,” he jogged back to them and knelt down to their level. “ Would you like to go to dinner with me sometime?”

“ Dinner?”

He nodded.

“ Oh! Yes! Dinner. I love dinner- I mean I’d love to.” they stammered out.

Bruno smirked at them then rested his thumb to the side of their mouth, flicking off a tiny bit of leftover frosting. He stared them right in the eye as he licked it off. 

“ See you then.” 

And he was gone.

And Y/n began to think.

Topaz, her feathers still pink, came to check on them and nudged their shoulder. After giving her a few pets Y/n marched to Ester’s office with a newfound confidence. Maybe Bruno was right about them having a spark.
