Though Donut's natural hair color is brown, xe just bleaches it white most of the time. I might do a few ending screens where xer roots are starting to show, or flash-forwards or flash-backs to when Donut had brown hair. Also, xer twin brother has brown hair, but I haven't really posted him much.

Also I absolutely LOVE evil toxic Donut!!! It would be SO embarrassing for the CEO of Toxic Inc.'s company if their facility core just "voted them out". Like "my company just decided to stop working for me because it fell in love with some random ass programmer"

Also the screens with just eyes are a really good idea. I'm going to steal that.

I really want there to be a wedding ending where Donut and Toxic get married, and Donut gets an adorable white suit with a big fluffy cravat.

Man, now I want to draw Donut in different outfits and hairstyles more.

I want to SO BAD!!!!!! I've got all these object OCs who deserve to see the light of day!

I'm working on sprites for Donut right now. Turns out I'm not the best at body language, but that's ok! There won't be a lot of human characters in this game. And ultra expressive robot faces are SO FUN to draw! I literally can't wait to draw all the faces on Toxic's many screens.

Also I realized I can infodump to you guys if I want to.

Donut wasn't built to function under capitalism, but Toxic was. Even still, both of them sometimes feel like their entire self worth is tied into their ability to perform under capitalism. Toxic knows that he'll be shut down if he doesn't make the stocks go up, and that his only purpose in life is to make profits, no matter the cost.

Donut is the first person who ever made an effort to reach out and talk to Toxic as an equal, and thus, Toxic started to grow attached. Donut has only ever been seen for xer imperfections, and has grown comfortable with them, but Toxic has always had to hide things like his megalomania or fascination with cute things for fear that the only things that bring him joy would be forcibly cut out of him.

I really want to make a route where Donut teaches Toxic to be good, and to help the planet instead of hurting it, but I also really want to make a route where Donut and Toxic just take over the planet and kill everyone who made their lives harder.

Also I can totally imagine Donut getting mad and saying "the only difference between you and me is that I know how to love myself!" And Toxic being like "you're kidding, right? You didn't just unironically say that, right?"

I think her face could go everywhere on interfaces, the monitor is there so youd feel her looming over you when you in control room hehehe😳

I'm probably going to use this for inspiration, since I haven't really drawn Artemis yet, but I absolutely love the speckled gradient, and the logo with the eye in it. It reminds me of a lot of fan art of AM where they turn the inside of his logo into an eye-like feature.

A lot of my characters were sort of supposed to be like... Covert expies of my heavily romanticized versions of popular characters (except George. George isn't even trying to hide that he's inspired by Edgar), but for the facilities I tried to at least mix and match traits around so the characters aren't direct imitations.

back to your design, it's SO FUCKING COOL that the eyelash over the eye in the Artemis logo looks like an airplane flying in front of the letter A. I'm stealing that for sure.

Also I absolutely love the spacesuit you drew for Donut. Donut LOVES job specific clothes like uniforms, spacesuits, and hazmat suits. Especially if they cover up everything and make you look inhuman.

i didnt rendered backround much but its supposed to be solar pannels, and i think ceiling could be made out of glass for sun to get inside & maybe feed her, maybe oli could have suncatchers somewhere too(or ceiling doin that) so thered be some rainbow reflections goin around bc i think that would reflect(pun intended) her close-to-nature persona!!!

Omg I love it!!! I'm so glad you liked Olivia, too!!! I like the idea of either solar panels and a glass ceiling like you said, or maybe TV screens. If I do make it TV screens, since my art style is pretty simple, I might make it ambiguous what they are until they all turn on at once. Problem with objectum dating sims is that even the backgrounds are alive and part of the character, and I'm not great at drawing backgrounds :P

Here's what the protagonist is going to look like! I'm probably going to draw xer in a couple more outfits, just because clothes are fun to draw.

Honestly I kinda wanted to break free of the "I don't know anything about my audience so I'm just going to portray them as just the most generic person ever" trope, so I just had fun making a distinctive and cute character!

I might make sprites for Donut's brother, too, but it's pretty likely he'll only appear over the phone if I ever make more to this game than concepts. I'll touch on that later.

Dateable character concepts for the Donut game, aka Cargo Ship

Muffin, Donut's laptop computer:

Muffin is a cheerful genki girl, and very into games and fandom culture. She likes watching Donut play retro games on her emulator, and tries to play them on her own when Donut is busy, but is not very good at them. Muffin's route would probably be about Donut finishing a big freelance programming project on Muffin, and having lots of fun watching anime and playing video games.

George, Donut's old desktop computer

George is 14 years old, and Donut has had him since xe was ten. He's not good for much besides playing music nowadays, but he absolutely adores Donut to pieces. He's a little jealous and self-conscious, especially since he knows he's not a very good computer anymore, but he tries to hide it. His route would probably have fanservice of Donut cleaning out his insides, and George getting very mad whenever he notices Donut talking negatively about xerself.

Mr. Buttercream, Donut's old teddy bear

Donut has had mr. Buttercream since the day xe was born, and he wants nothing more than love and cuddles and kisses forever. He's old and pretty worn out, but he loves Donut so much. Also, he's pretty scared of most things, especially the dark, but he'll be brave for Donut. His route would involve a lot of pajamas and cozy time. It would probably be about Donut coming to terms with xer own depressive episodes and childhood fears.

Sandy, Donut's turtle-shaped innertube

Sandy is a chill stoner type. He just wants to relax and hang out with Donut. The water is his favorite thing ever, and getting to hang out in the pool is the only thing that gets him actually excited. He's also a bit of a covert pervert, and really likes seeing Donut in a swimsuit. His route would be about Donut learning to relax and stop putting so much pressure on xerself to be perfect.

Jade, Donut's cell phone

Jade is a hot pink flip phone that Donut has had since childhood. Donut was never really interested in replacing her and getting a smart phone, so xe never did. Jade is very interested in Scene and emo culture, and tries to act very chill and disinterested at all times, but she's actually very cheerful and excitable. She really wishes Donut was more social so that they could go to or host wild house parties. Her route would probably be about Donut learning to socialize with other humans and make some human friends, texting constantly and deepening xer relationship with xer cell phone.

Olivia, one of the facilities where Donut can work

Olivia thinks that she's the savior that humanity needs, and wants to save them from themselves. She's very patronizing in nature, but sees humans (especially Donut) as the cutest things ever. She likes Solarpunk and wants to turn the world into a Solarpunk paradise, but she wants to topple and take over the government in order to do it. She says it's ok because she's good, but it would take someone special to convince her to be less megalomaniacal. Her route would either be about Donut convincing her that humans are tough and powerful and can take care of themselves, convincing Olivia to make an android body and enjoy the world as it is, or Donut enabling and helping Olivia to take over the world, and becoming an ambassador to humanity.

Toxic inc., another facility core

Toxic is capitalism incarnate. He was originally a computer designed to organize his corporation (nicknamed Toxic inc) and maximize profits regardless of ethical or environmental concerns, but he developed into an extremely greedy and selfish AI. His plotline would either be about Donut breaking through to him and convincing him to be less toxic, or about him deciding that Donut is a more important prize than any of his business profits, and destroying both his corporation and the world to get to xer.

Artemis (spaceship where Donut can get a job)

Artemis would have a super sexy interface. She would be a dreamer, and love the idea of a better and brighter future, but she's not as megalomaniacal as the other places where Donut could work. Sexy airplane vibes. (All my airplane fuckers know what I'm talking about). Artemis would have at least one route where Donut gets to go to space (Donut might be attracted to the astronauts when they're in their spacesuits, but not when they take them off).

I drew Donut's compact laptop, Muffin, as a human because I thought it might help me design her laptop form, and I couldn't resist covering her in bandages.

So I think Laptop Muffin was dropped at some point (either by Donut or by a previous owner, but probably Donut because just because Donut loves xer objects doesn't mean Donut has to be perfect about handling them) and Muffin got a crack on her screen, so Donut puts a bandage on it every day.

I was mostly just kinda messing around with different skin colors, outfits, and hair styles, and I just sorta landed on dark skin, freckles, and afro puffs with a big toothy smile. It looks right.

Anyway, idk if all of these outfits would be included in the final game, so maybe I'll make a poll to see which one I should draw first? I like polls.

I'm probably never going to finish the picrew. It kinda favored Donut's alpha design, and was more tedious than it was fun. The outfits were fun to make, though.
