And I think it works just as well.#Alright. It's time to confess something. I really struggled with this comic. I didn't want to draw it. Then I didn't want to upload it.#Because I knew I would be here in the tags writing and backspacing for hours trying to articulate my thoughts.#I'm going to talk about death and grief in the tags today so this is your WARNING to look away if you aren't in a headspace for it.#Sometimes in media there are scenes and characters which land on topics so specific to your wounds that it reopens them all over again.#Because here's the truth. When you've known someone like this for nearly your whole life...it doesn't matter how bad the fight is.#You always think 'We'll always have time. One day this dust will settle and we'll rebuild the bridge.'#And then the fucker dies!!! He dies and suddenly there will never ever be time to repair the rift.#Someone you loved died thinking you hated them. And part of you did just a bit. But love and hate aren't mutually exclusive.#He's fucking dead and you are left with so many broken and unfinished pieces between the two of you.#Jiang Cheng loses Wei Wuxian thinking that WWX thought they hated each other.#He's a younger brother who will one day be older than the person he lost.#Who has no one else in the world who understands those feelings of love and hate and grief.#I can't be normal about this character. I don't think he even heals me. Zero catharsis to be gained here.#I just look at his sour grape ass and think 'shit that's a little too close to home.' JC is my discomfort character.#I'm probably going to regret being this vulnerable in the tags in like. An hour. Yeah sky and time's relationship is a whole mess over the master sword

but can we talk about sky and wild's view of the sword

Because it's just a lot of contradictions

Sky loves the sword. Sky loves Fi. Sky openly admits she can hurt them. Sky knows she has best interests at heart. Sky is dying for someone to care about the sword. Sky is pissed that wild broke the sword. Sky still handed her back to him.

Wild loves the sword. The sword tried to kill Wild and he's a little bitter about that. Wild worked to earn the sword. Wild doesn't feel worthy of the sword. Wild breaks the sword. The sword always comes back.

Wild is the only one who openly invites Sky to talk about the sword- how he forged it, and the voice inside. There is a lot of negativity around Wild and the sword. And the sword is a major bonding point with Sky. He's dying for someone to care about her too, but at the end of the day Wild is the one who actually talks to him about her.

the way harding goes in so aggro on lucanis right off the bat (lmao I love you too harding it's good to know you always have my back❤️️I am trying to score here tho sooo pls don't actually shoot him maybe?) and then fairly quickly she's clearly like '...oh no he's like. sad sad huh :(' hfhaskjfa. one (1) nice solid sensible fereldan girl saddled with the burden of having to rep the southern attitude towards spirits in a sea of mourn watchers and other assorted freaks and doing her damn best to be firm but fair even so. I love these two so much tho, the way their friendship develops is everything. he makes her a guard in his mind because he trusts that she would never let anything out that could hurt someone he loves, he knows she WOULD use the arrow. and she knows it wouldn't even be his fault if she had to..... the early phase here is such a mutual state of 'you know what. that's incredibly fucked up and also incredibly sweet'

Crazy issues that come up when a character is written a little too well

#yay story time comic nobody asked for #funnily enough i will NEVER play undertale on the computer because of this #my first exposure to undertale was jacksepticeye and i am glad i didn't opt to play the game myself at the time #flowey closing the game and then the broken start up cutscene was bad enough just WATCHING it #and i STILL have to watch that chara thing at the end with a far distance from my screen and the volume down #not because of the scary face but because of the violin noise that sounds like its a repeating tone rather than a loop #and then of course the window hopping around #am also very glad i was spoiled about the spamton mercy win before i tried it myself #am slightly worried about future deltarune chapters but at least now i'm anticipating it #anyway remember when i tagged that one post ''i'm scared of computers and it's a monkey's fault''#now you know :3 #i really wanted this done on thursday #and apparently dawn's brain says friday doesn't happen until after i fall asleep #so now i am awake and it is 4:30 and i hear birds chirping so nighty night #((or good morning))#yay comic :D i was right this did help a lot with getting some program familiarity #it's not the greatest paneling in the world but it's good for now #idk if i should really tag him or not #but uh #spamton #deltarune #spamton enjoyers i am so sorry #i am terrified of him only because he does his job in the story very well

It's not perfect but I am very happy with it + I am so happy to put down the tablet pen.#Digital art has some nice features but I'm sticking with traditional! I need a month to recover from the 2+ weeks of torture.#Okay lets talk about the AU and the comic now #Disco elysium has some of the best existential-horror-dream sequences I have ever seen.#The dialogue here is heavily inspired by The Final Dream - A scene I'd love to talk about more were it not so heavy with spoilers.#My AU is a lot more complex than a simple character swap but I really felt like LWJ + YLLZ fit this scene.#The final dream is about being unable to move on from a lost love. From something You made holy. From something You ruined.#It is about realizing that no matter how smart you are or what you offer or how you try to change -#You will never be able to turn back time. You will never ever be able to fix what is broken. That you also have been broken for a long time #You are a fuck-up who worships the nail covered ground of someone who did not want to be holy. And even though it hurts-#You cannot let this nightmare go. The pain keeps the love close. It is worse to forget. You promised to remember.#WWX died thinking LWJ disliked him. LWJ lost someone he thought was revolted by his love.

expanding on that Lady Maria vibe for Descole from the first Laytonborne post, and that famous boss intro.

Descole would make a hellish boss fight, i know it. i mean have you SEEN how he moved during Eternal Diva and with that big ass sword? now imagine that with Soulsborne-scale strength and possible other additional powers.

plus his theme could be pretty easily adapted into a Bloodborne boss style piece I think, just add more orchestra heavy brass and cellos and some ominous Latin chanting choir and presto. that organ goes so hard too.
