I have this (in my own humble opinion) amazing idea where we let our toddlers paint with one or two colors together in groups of 5 on a big paper circle and then once it's dry we glue it to a big square and let them paint with another color on both the circle and the square. I think it will make cool contrasts of shapes and colors and we can talk about round things and things in whatever color they choose etc, and we're 16 kids so it'll be three groups and hopefully they choose different colors so when we put them on the wall next to eachother it'll be like "wow! you all got the same task but they turned out so different!" and since they're doing a painting as a group it'll be great practice in working together and sharing the toys and tools we have at preschool.

I really want to do this but I'm like scared to suggest it to my new colleauge because she seems like she's much more the type to cut some template and be like "you press this to the paper and it becomes a flower that you all can take home to show your parents" which is cute but it's like. we have a 15 month old in our group. if I want some of these kids to make a flower I will have to physically steer their hand while they're holding the template and then quickly yank the paper away before they start dragging their fingers through the wet paint and then it's like, did they create something or did I? like they can barely hold a paintbrush I just wanna let them practice and experiment and I honestly couldn't give less of a shit if the parents want little artwork of flowers they can say their child made at preschool, wait until they're four and they'll willingly make it.

I just feel like I have this amazing idea and I'm gonna be met with resistance and it'll be like "well, what does it become?" and it's like it doesn't fucking matter what it becomes!!!!! it's supposed to be fun and an opportunity to discover and learn and work together!! the product is irrelevant!!!!

Listen to me Suzanne Collins did not have to give Katniss and Peeta a history before the games. She did NOT have to do that. She could have just had their story begin when Peeta's name was called. She could have had them be total strangers until the moment of the reaping.

Like: "And the boy tribute is... Peeta Mellark!" Katniss: Who's that? Or she could have made them vaguely familiar with each other! Peeta's name is called and Katniss just thinks, Oh, I know that name! He's in my class, actually. Poor boy... Anyway!

Either way, SC could have written the rest of the story exactly the same! I think many authors would have done that! Because if Peeta's purpose in the book was to be Gale's competition, to be one of the 3 corners of a love triangle, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE WAY TO DO IT!! But that's NOT how she did it because that's NOT what Peeta is.

And who is he? To Katniss, Peeta's someone who saved her and her family and received nothing in return except a beating. Peeta's someone she has had her eye on but has never worked up the courage to talk to. Peeta's someone she associates with kindness and hope. And all this before the start of the events of the book! Just because WE, the READERS, met Gale before Peeta and immediately felt a connection with him does NOT mean that was Katniss's experience! And that's what SC is trying to tell us!

To dismiss Katniss and Peeta's past as unimportant or inconsequential compared to whatever Katniss and Gale have in the present is to fundamentally misunderstand Katniss as a character and, as a result, condemn oneself to never fully understand the choices she makes in the future.

Suzanne Collins wrote it that way on purpose because she had something to say. And no one will ever be able to convince me that something wasn't "It was always going to be Peeta".

anadius has made it so so easy and safe for people to obtain ts4 and all of its packs without paying for them and i really wish more people knew about this bc the only way to get EA to pay attention to the terrible state of the game is to literally stop giving them money, 🏴‍☠️ the packs to keep playing the game u enjoy but know they only care about appeasing their shareholders/investors/whatever they are and they're all driven by money and have very little interest in the playable state of the game in terms of bugs and features unless the game is so broken that people are actively demanding refunds in mass or just not buying the packs at all.

I cannot express enough that if your reaction, as a hobby artist, to not getting that many notes on your art is to say "maybe I should just stop doing art altogether" you need to stop posting art to tumblr

not necessarily forever, not even for long, but just stop putting your art on here and start doing it for you again, remember why you enjoyed doing art in the first place and stop relying on the attention of faceless people on the internet for your enjoyment of your hard work

believe me, I get it, nothing crushes the artistic soul quite like labouring for hours on a piece only for it to get like 10 notes, so you need to find your own source of joy in the act of creation and a lot of the time that means making art and not showing it to anybody
