I don't even know Dragon Age well yet here I am with a 1k wordcount wip so far, all centered around a dream in the Fade so I can smuggle in as much symbolism and wordplay as I feel up to.
One part i really really like?
"The boy is not your son." Did the child project his mother on the demon? Or... Her borrowed green eyes - the same as the boy's - burn like flame and promise death with two words. "He is." Perhaps the entity was originally the mother's friend Perseverance. But now it is now Vengeance and it will burn whoever touches the child with cruel intent.
... on a related note? The three games are $10. So... I'm gonna lose time trying to play these.

To clarify bc my last post confused some people! (I got an ask about it but I'm not posting it publicly)
I basically only ship canon things for ToH, + very-far-distant-future-adult King/Collector. Normally I ship them platonically, there's not even, like, Disney-safe shipping with the kid versions I just only ship them as friends haha. I don't even recognize your shipnames

I know absolutely nothing about Final fantasy xiv, except Lahabrea and Hesperos are very shippable, and Lahabrea being a dilf was a meme for a while and they look like this...

Fic Writers: Here’s a soundtrack filled with beautiful, meaningful, sweet, kind of sad songs about blue eyes and the lovely, desperate starcrossed love of my OTP. Me: (Earlier today, in my car) Do you think Crowley thinks of Aziraphale every time “Baby Got Back” comes on the radio? My anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hun.

The Complicated Motivations of The Doctor’s Companions
I’ve been rewatching New Who, and I’m struck by the primary difference between the Davies years and the Moffat years: companion motivation. The Davies companions put the Doctor first in their lives and their hearts; the Moffat companions do not.
Rose had a boyfriend, off-screen friends, and a mother, but once the Doctor is in the picture, they all pale in comparison. What would have happened to Rose if it weren’t for the Doctor? A retail job, a boyfriend, an ordinary life. And would she have been disappointed? Not at all! She wasn’t pining for adventure before the Doctor appeared. Once he does, she wants to be with him forever, and she’ll take him any way she can, TARDIS or no TARDIS. In the end, she gets an ordinary life, but this time with the Doctor, and that’s enough.
Donna has friends, family, and goals, but she hates her life and herself. Donna, like Rose, would have stayed a companion forever if she could have. Unlike Rose, she’s not in love with the Doctor, but she is in love with with his life, with the adventures, and who those adventures make her. The Doctor fundamentally changes Donna. Her story is so profoundly tragic not only because she can’t stay with the Doctor, but because she’s can’t be the person he helped her to become.
Martha has a career and a family, but she’d happily give it all up for the Doctor and his adventures. She is in love with the Doctor, much like Rose is. But those feelings aren’t returned. For Martha, The Doctor is the one who got away. If his feelings were to change, she would join him again in a heartbeat.
Barring parallel universes, broken brains, and unrequited love, all three Davies companions would prefer to stay with The Doctor forever, and as the audience we know that each of them getting what they want would be a better and happier end for both them and the Doctor. If only Rose hadn’t gotten pulled out of this universe and could have remained a companion, bringing some real love into the Doctor’s life; if only Donna hadn’t had to forget everything to do with The Doctor to survive (is that survival even worth it?); if only The Doctor loved Martha the way he loved Rose, the things they could have accomplished! Their finales fall short of their true ambitions.
Amy and Clara, though: different story. Rather than framed as an ideal scenario, the Doctor is an addiction for them, an addiction that draws them away from what they actually want and hurts them. They enjoy the hell out of their time in the TARDIS, but that life is not their true heart’s desire. For them, the Doctor is secondary.
While the story toys with a love triangle among Amy, Rory, and the Doctor, there’s really no question about who Amy is going to choose, in the end: it’s always Rory. At first the Doctor is a perfect distraction, but over time, Amy and Rory want a real life, a normal life. Could Amy ever have said no to the Doctor? I doubt it. Which is why Amy’s irreversible separation from him isn’t as tragic as Rose’s or Donna’s. The Doctor cannot go back for Amy, and that’s quietly what she wants. A life with Rory, on the slow path, without this pesky addiction getting in the way.
Clara Oswald will only ever love one man, and that’s Danny Pink. Like Amy, she struggles with the fact that she is addicted to her adventures with The Doctor, jamming hours or weeks of adventures into the real life to which she is deeply committed, even if it means that she has to eat two dinners in a row. She says, “I can’t keep doing this,” and then, “yes I can, I can do this!” She presumes at some point she will have to choose between these two lives, just like Amy did, and she knows that, like Amy, she will not choose life with the Doctor. But she doesn’t get to choose Danny. She doesn’t choose The Doctor as a second choice, either. It was never that sort of either/or choice for Clara.
Clara is broken by the death of Danny Pink, and while she continues to enjoy her adventures with the Doctor afterwards, some part of her is gone. Rather than wanting to be with the Doctor, she strives to become him; unmoored, emotionally uncompromising, uncommitted to anyone. She is reckless. Her life in the TARDIS looks more like a death wish than a loving choice, which is reminiscent of no one more than the Doctor himself.  And in the end, Clara gets her wish; she is the Doctor for a while, in between the seconds left in her life, for as long as she likes. She doesn’t need the Doctor to live like him.
