feeling at peace again so i'm about to start yapping at y'all B)) but i just wanna say!! referencing my ramble about chiyo's arcane verse last night, i actually really, really like the idea that despite all the loss, chiyo moves forward. she doesn't hide within herself. i think there are ways in which she'll close herself off -- she won't discuss how she feels with anyone, for example -- but chiyo won't retreat and feel defeated. vague s2 spoilers below!

i think part of it is circumstantial bc things really start to kick off and move once viktor?? is ascend the right word?? you know what i'm talking about, and i think that gives chiyo something to focus on and fight for. but chiyo also understands that the world doesn't stop turning so she can grieve. she understands that she isn't the only one who lost someone. she understands that despite whatever failings she has, the people who loved her so much wouldn't want to see her hide away and give up.

kojirou held her hand, brought her out of her garden and showed her the world brimming with life that waited for her. her father believed in her -- no matter what path she chose, no matter who she chose to become. that love isn't gone just bc they aren't here. it's inside her, like a little light that she has to protect, and she will protect it. she owes that to them.

Okay so, recently there was a huge kaand. As y'all know, I usually post incorrect quotes or my rewatching series of Star Plus Mahabharata. Now someone took my posts and blew them out of proportion. I have blocked them, yes, not because I'm afraid, but because I don't want any stress. I get easily affected by this stuff, and I don't wish to fall into depression again.

I'm writing this post to clarify MY opinions, if y'all are willing to listen. Currently, all the quotes and rewatches are deleted. I will post them either publically or privately again, but it depends if you all wish to see them.

I use basic meme templates from the incorrect quote generators, and put the names of the MB characters which I think suite the template. So there was this specific incorrect quote:

Draupadi: I love you guys, you are the best thing that happened to me. The Pandavas: we are the best thing that happened to you? Draupadi: yeah. The pandavas: we are starting to feel a little sorry for you.

Now, this is a very popular incorrect quote. I don't see how this is derogatory towards the Pandavas, or Draupadi for that matter. It's just a joke. And I'm allowed to make jokes. You, however, are not allowed to post screenshots of my posts on social media without my permission/giving credit.

Tell me honestly, did this feel insulting to any of you? If it did, then I will accept my mistake. I did not make it from the intention of hurting anyone. I just thought it would suit them.

Now change the characters. If I had written this for Krishna and Balarama, would it feel insulting? No. IT IS JUST AN INCORRECT QUOTE!

And then this person says that I used "derogatory" language for my favs. WAIT WHAT? Does this person even know who my favs are? Pls tell me where have I used derogatory language for Abhimanyu or Uttaraa. Yes, I have made incorrect quotes. But these quote templates are used by 100s of ppl online, it's not just ME who is making these quotes, srsly. And no one has ever said that "hey I find them insulting".

Then, my rewatch series. First, it is solely, SOLELY based on what SP MB portrays the characters to be like. If I put any references from the OG MB, I MENTION IT explicitly. My rewatch series was inspired from @demonkidpliz's rewatching MB series (yes, I did take permission before starting it.)

Now, Dhrishtadyumna was trying to kill Drona, right after his birth. So I said it was "out of his aukaat". Why? Because he is very weird. He insults Draupadi in a very sexist way, and is downright irritating till this point. So I used this language for him. It is a satire on the show, God.

OG Dhrishtadyumna was a very nice warrior, but are his warrior skills shown in the show ? Are they? No. And if you consider this to be an accurate representation of him, then...you are special.

Then, this person posts stuff about me calling Arjun depressed. THIS was the biggest issue. I saw some of my friends commenting under it, without even clarifying it with me, first, so it did hurt initially.

The show does not show Arjun to be the great warrior he is. Arjun in the OG MB does not hesitate to fight UNTIL the Kurukshetra war, and he has proved his mettle as the best warrior of his time multiple times in the text. In the show...well, all of his gr8 warrior sequences are just removed. Almost all of them.

In the Varnavrat thing, the Pandavas (and Arjun) are eager to kill the Kauravas, which is very uncharacteristic for SP MB Arjun. So I said that "oh, he wants to fight? He won't want to fight after the depression hits in."

IT IS FOR SP MB ARJUN.

NOT FOR THE REAL ARJUN, GOD.

Yes, I know that he was a gr8 warrior. Yes, I know that he did tapasya and pleased all the Gods. Because he was GREAT. And I know that. The title of the post was "Re-watching Mahabharata", and the tags were "starplus mahabharat", "starbharat recap" and "starbharat". Srsly? You will say that I am calling the OG Arjun depressed?! Really?! It's a satire on the show!

Asking me to show even a single verse in the text where he is mentioned to be depressed is kinda weird since I DID NOT CALL HIM TO BE DEPRESSED! And I know how serious depression and suicide is. I suffered from it once. I don't need anyone teaching me about how serious it can be, or how it can affect your life. I am NOT trying to pick fights with anyone, okay? I am not. I am not interested in weird kalesh at all.

I want y'all to tell me if I have done anything wrong, or if any of you ever had similar feelings seeing my incorrect quotes or rewatch series. Since they are currently deleted, I will start posting them again if y'all are interested in seeing them.

while we're on the RBB fics - another fic i have luv'd with my whole damn heart this year is Meet Me on the Other Side by @sparklepocalypse Mags wrote the very best horny cowboys period fic and i luv it so damn much!! - if somehow you haven't yet go check it out and fall in luv with it too - now i'm gonna throw links here for two more of Mags fics that i cannot get enough of from this year while we're at it Single Sad-Sack Seeking Same & All the Ocean was Sleeping - go read them!!!

now i'm moving onto a fic that has OC's that stole my frakkin heart and was an utter joy to follow along with this year - Sara @cha-melodius wrote an amazing you've got mail au False Dichotomy - it really is so good - and Sara's Body and Soul(mate) is a great spy soulmate fic that has bodyswapping and so many other great things

so next i got a couple of my faves from MJ kiwiana that when he wrote them they just frakkin spoke to me Like loving the stars themselves - DR Who AU - yes plz - and MJ knocks this one outta the park - so you want a Santa Clarita Diet AU MJ also has ya covered there and it's so damn good!!! - Never want to live (or die) without you now the last one i'm including here is taking the "this year" a lil bit loosely cuz he technically finished it end of last year - but i have definitely read it again this year i'm certain of it - A Practical Arrangement - one of the best arranged marriage fics !!!

In Depth Meta Analysis.

[[Okay, so. Let's get right into the good shit. After surviving the mind flayer, and only barely, Billy Hargrove started to change. Just before death, when he apologized to Max, he realized that maybe the hate and anger that he was holding was misdirected. Which was part of what led to the 'I'm sorry'. Lowering his guard a little for the first time around her. Not only meaning it in regards to what happened while he was flayed, but also for how he treated her. Billy realized that if he hadn't pushed literally everyone away, that maybe something like what happened with the mind flayer might have been exposed sooner. That people might have noticed sooner. And facing a being like the mind flayer made him realize that maybe a monster like his father wasn't so scary. That he could stand up if he needed to, which is why post season 3 Billy plans on moving out and getting a place of his own. A place he can really call home. His sacrifice when fighting the mind flayer was a first little push, a first selfless act. It's a slow going thing, the way he improves and starts to let people in. He still has his guard up, he still experiences anger that threatens to consume him, but he does start to be just a little bit kinder. Living on his own rather than with his abusive father gives Billy a chance to slowly improve and work on himself, no longer stressed and as angry. Spending time with the kids, Steve, Robin, Nancy, and Eddie starts to make him a little more open to friendships and other things. The only people he really lets his guard down with or gets truly soft is those he loves or trusts deeply. But he still tries to play it off even then, having to fight the way that he was originally wired. He is trying. So beyond season 3, he is going to start to develop. Billy doesn't see the world in just angry shades of red anymore. And he doesn't want to end up like his father which is an ULTIMATE reason he is set on this change. I hope this makes things a little easier to understand. So even if y'all see soft threads [particularly the ones I have with @hauntedxwritings [since we like to write together a lot and we ship the hell outta mungrove. A lot of development has been put into them through chats too. ] , it won't be a constant all the time thing. Within season 2-3 or even after, there will be plenty of not soft Billy threads or ones where he is still just as he was in the show. If you want a particular season though or don't want the post series verse, or hell even if you want post series but you want him minus the headcanons/development then just let me know and I will adjust my replies as need be <3 ]]

State of the Author: January 2024

Normally, I wouldn't do a thing like this. However, because I have not actually updated y'all on my WIPs in a while, I thought I might as well!

We'll start with the thing most of you followed me for: long-form fiction. And I call it that since all of these will be over 15k words (hopefully). There are three novels I'm currently focusing on.

LONG-FORM FICTION

Lodestar is currently stuck in a worldbuilding spiral, since it's a near-future humanity in space. While I do love sci-fi, science and math are not especially my forte. I hope to start drafting by the end of the summer, around September.

Vespertine has started on the first draft, though I'm also outlining still - something of a combined process. I am excited to share more of it with you, though it may be tough since most of it still lives in my head. Such is the woe of the artist.

Unto Summer Kings is in the first draft and currently hovering around 15k words! So far it's the longest I've gotten on a novel, and if I stay on track I could start my second draft by May, and begin beta reading by August.

LONG-FORM FANFICTION

I hesitate a little to touch on this one, just because. However, for the pure self indulgence I will. I have three major fanfics currently posted on my AO3, all of them multichaptered.

The Hanged Man is a Naruto SI!OC as Hatake Sakumo, immediately before his death. I currently have 8 chapters out and the main beats of the fic are fully outlined as of this month, which marks a major turning point in the fic's planning.

The Ever-Growing Gloaming is another self insert, this time into the events of Baldur's Gate 3. Vespere, the main character, whose name is subject to change, has been plucked from August 2023 and has not played the game since early access March 2023. Therefore they know less than you might expect.

Finally I have my Supernatural series, For Want of a Broken Nail (Broken Nail Verse). And I know what you're going to say, it's super meta to have a self insert in that fandom, you're writing SPN fanfic in 2024 what is wrong with you, etc etc. But the concept seized me full on by the balls and I already have the first 5 seasons outlined. Sorry, not sorry? No one is obligated to read it anyhow.

I also have a billion ideas on the backburner, ranging from fandoms like Game of Thrones and the MCU (for some reason) to Avatar: the Last Airbender and Star Wars. I'll post 'em when I post 'em!

ART PROJECTS

Wolf in Shepherd's Clothing is a comic of humanity's first lycanthrope, taking place in ancient Mesopotamia, in what is modern day Iran. The main character, Lahar, is gender neutral/ambiguous. So far, I'm stuck in outlining and drafting but hopefully soonTM.

Witchboy (title wip) is a story I'm working on with my partner @fallenorpheus based on various YA novels we read growing up. So far we aren't super set on the story, but it's definitely about a boy who is (accidentally) a witch, his best friend, his adoring father, and his estranged mother.

Dame-Errant (title wip) is a story that, instead of in comic form, is a story that is illustration snapshots, accompanied by short story prose. It is about a butch knight, Dame Johana Talon, who is tasked by Queen Atossa to find her missing son, Prince Khosrow. Typical 'prince(ss) in the tower shenanigans' but then, politics. And boy does Jo hate politics.

I have other webcomic ideas (mtf vs bbeg accidentally breaking a prophecy, team of bipoc/minority characters getting thrown into a fantasy world for an adventure, etc) so feel free to ask.

PERSONAL

I hesitate to touch on this, really, since it's not something that just anyone needs to know, but I've been struggling to find a good name for myself. Hesperos is a good name, but doesn't necessarily feel like 'me' these days. I do enjoy the h/e sounds... I've considered Ezra, but that's just the name of an OC and I'd rather not get quite that meta.

Ah well, sure it'll sort itself out eventually.

this is going to be so long i'm sorry but i just love talking about it so let's start!

i'm going to highlight some of the movies from my favourites list on letterboxd aka the movies that butter my bun:

— Skyfall (2012) and 1917 (2019) both directed by Sam Mendes are honestly great movies with Skyfall for me being the best Bond movie and 1917 as one of the best war movies. What made 1917 one of my favourites was the watching it at cinema experience plus the reveal in the end is just *chef's kiss*

— Tarantino movies. Like that's it. I know a lot of ppl don't like him but for me he's one of the best writers and sure has his problems but you cannot deny his work is great. Inglorious Basterds for me take the cake as his best movie with Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill: Part I being up there as well. One of his underrated movies is definitely Jackie Brown which I've loved.

— Period dramas. Another one of my fave genres. Emma. (2020) being one of my favourite movies. Emma (2009) is also a great adaptation albeit it is a series. Pride and Prejudice (2005) and (1995) are great as well. Little Women has recently grown on me way more and remains my favourite Greta Gerwig movie. Another underrated movie for me is Ophelia which as the title says focuses more on Ophelia from the play Hamlet. It's really well done and I've enjoyed watching it.

— This one is also a period drama but it is a bollywood movie so I wanted to highlight it. Jodhaa Akbar is a MUST watch such a good movie it's insane like I'm sorry you have a sword fight sequence between two lovers and you have won me over.

— Let's get franchises out of the way. Obviously Marvel movies are some of my favourites with Avengers: Infinity War, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Thor: Ragnarok which are in my top 3. Both Black Panther movies and Spider-man: No Way Home are taking honourable mentions. For their series my favourite has been Moon Knight. (Sony gets their cookies for Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse and obviously Venom because come on now eddie and venom are otp y'all don't get it like i do)

— Next big franchise is Star Wars. Original trilogy: Empire Strikes Back. Prequel trilogy: Revenge of the Sith (I'm an Anakin girlie unfortunately) and Sequel trilogy: The Last Jedi (Rian Johnson supremacy). Series: Obi-wan Kenobi (i cried). Honourable mention to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (i also cried).

— Since I mentioned Rian Johnson let's expand on that because the man just gets movies and everyone should watch Looper and Knives Out!!

— Denis Villeneuve. MY MAN!!!! Arrival and Dune *chef's kiss* if you can bear longer movies also Blade Runner 2049 but it isn't one of my favorites exactly because it was long and boring. And since probably someone will say the same for Dune at least Dune has you looking at Oscar Isaac and Timothee Chalamet sure they look miserable but that's when men look the best.

— Spy movies? like idk how to call this but let me list them all. Anna (2019) they succeeded where The Red Sparrow failed like if you're looking for anything similar to Black Widow Anna is the one I would recommend a thousand times. The Nice Guys and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. great comedies I just love them. It's not really a spy but assassin I guess but John Wick franchise is the shit and the best movie is obviously John Wick 2.

— Another director that has me is unfortunately Christopher Nolan. Can I get more basic than that? I do admit his faults and that's sound mixing is fucking awful, I don't understand his movies while I am watching them most of the time and this man cannot write a female character for the life of him BUT 🎶 shapes and colours 🎶. His ideas are what draw me in and it's just visual masterpieces doesn't matter if I can't hear the dialogue if it looks good am I right?

— Smashing musicals and animation together because this is already becoming too long. Singin' In The Rain and The Sound of Music are a MUST watch and also I'm a Phantom of the Opera girlie so if you're going to watch anything watch the 25th anniversary version. I am also unfortunately a Hamilton girlie and the damage to my life caused by that damn musical is irreparable. For animation musical Hercules, The Emperor's New Groove, Anastasia, The Lion King and Tangled and purely animation Howl's Moving Castle, Lilo and Stitch, The Incredibles and Inside Out.

— Now it's time for a quick fire: Ford v Ferrari and Rush are two best movies for my motorsport girlies, Gone Girl and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for my book girlies, Death at a Funeral and Hot Fuzz for the british comedy girlies, i'm also unfortunately a Titanic girlie probably the movie i've watched most in my life, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS!!! A. MUST. WATCH. Monty Python movies are great if you ignore some of the outdated jokes. Jackie is one of my favorites just because it's one of Natalie's Portman's best performances and that's also including Black Swan but both movies are also visually stunning.

— The Death of Stalin is one of the best comedies as well. Ready Player One is one of my weirder favourites since many ppl see it as an average movie but i'd recommend it to anyone (literally can't believe it's my favourite Spielberg movie 😭😭). Also add to the video game genre Tron: Legacy because I will also recommend that movie to anyone. The Grand Budapest Hotel is also a must watch like if anyone made the world go through a pink paint shortage before Barbie did then it's this movie and finally The Batman (2022). Let's end on a battinson note just because.

— Crazy to think I haven't even mentioned all of my favourites but I guess this is kinda the jist of it all. Basically my taste is anything as long as I like it I guess jsbsjsbsjs. (I forgot to mention the horror genre but that's just because I don't really have a favourite movie like if I had to say anything it would be The Conjuring movies.)

— As for Le Belle Et La Bête it's one of my new favourites and honestly got me into a french cinema mood so I'll probably find more favourites there. One of my goals has always been to watch more foreign movies but not many have entered my favourites club unfortunately. Also fuck disney live-action remakes (except you cinderella (2015)).

Oh my god I'm so sorry for taking so long. At first I just didn't get around to it but then I got insanely busy and now here it is woo

Anyway so just for background in case y'all aren't familiar, earth 65's Gwen Stacy was introduced in the Spider-Verse event in 2014 and got her own comic, Radioactive Spider Gwen, in 2015. That run ended in 2018, and she promptly got a run called Spider Gwen: Ghost Spider that ran for ten issues and a follow up run called Ghost Spider that ended too soon imho. These two runs firmly established her new identity, and she stops using both Spider Woman and Spider Gwen as her hero names, adopting Ghost Spider, which is a fine name imo and works well with her arc. So for a couple of years we have no main title comics for Gwen, although she appears here and there in 616 comics as of the end of Ghost Spider she only operates in 616 due to Stuff. Read the comics they're great I won't be getting into that here.

So like I said, Gwen doesn't have a title after 2019, but then a miniseries is announced, starting summer 2022, starring my beloved Ghost Spider. It's called Spider-Gwen: Gwen-Verse.

Wait, just a second, record scratch. Did I read that right? Spider-Gwen? I thought she'd been called Ghost Spider since 2018!

Oh well, maybe it's an artefact title, just meant to appeal to an audience that isn't familiar with her canon? Although like. That doesn't usually happen. Like Tim Drake isn't currently being referred to as Red Robin when he's operating as Robin just bc of recognizability (ignoring that fact that he should NOT be Robin anymore, but that's a different rant).

This is a minor problem, supposedly, but I think it's indicative of the problems inherent to the mini series as a whole, which is that Tim Seeley has no idea what the fuck he's talking about!!!!

Ghost Spider (2019) ends on this massive dramatic cliffhanger - that same aforementioned Stuff that prevents her from working in her own universe as a hero - and yet here there is no mention of any of that. Gwen is still going back and forth from 616, yeah, but there's no mention of her being unable to patrol her own universe at all. And then there's also the fact that this Gwen isn't anything like my Gwen at all. She's so out of character the entire time - in fact the entire plot hinges on it.

Like, okay, just a sec. I need to explain the idea behind gwenverse before I can explain why the entire plot hinges on Gwen being ooc. So the idea for gwenverse is that in the far far future there is an artist called Finale who wants to become, I shit you not, "the ultimate meme". In order to do this, Finale wants to copy herself across time. However, as she tries to copy herself, entirely coincidentally Gwen is crossing universes to go to college and boom suddenly she's the one being copied across the timeline and for some reason there is now a Thorgwen, Iron GWEN, Gwen Rogers, Gwen Howlett... Okay you get it. These versions of Gwen that have been copied into history have wreaked havoc on Earth 65 and its timeline, and now Gwen has to fix this shit.

The main theme of the narrative is that every version of Gwen spread throughout history has an aspect of Gwen that makes up most of her personality, and that in order to fix the timeline Gwen has to not only gather all the Gwens but also learn to love herself and correct her mistake. But there is so much wrong with this!!!!

Firstly WHAT THE FUCK WHY IS THIS NARRATIVE OF SELF ACCEPTANCE CAUSED ON ACCIDENT!!! If Gwen had SNEEZED before entering the portal none of this would have happened!!! Narratives that involve accepting your flaws should, always, every time, be caused by your flaws, you can't fucking change my mind. Gwen's self acceptance plot is entirely pulled out of Tim Seeley's ass. Not only is it not thematically coherent since it's accidental, he invents entirely new insecurities for Gwen that have NEVER been seen before in eight years of publication. Gwen HAS insecurities - that she won't always do the right thing, that she's not strong enough, that she's not a good friend. But she doesn't like, struggle with self love, or have anger issues, or any of the bullshit Tim Seeley pulled in this series.

Tim had a vague idea of what Teenage Girls™ Are Insecure About, and he had a vague recollection of the Wikipedia entry for Spider-Gwen, and he wrote a shitty story that had no thematic consistency or narrative appeal - it didn't make sense as a continuation of Gwen's character, and it completely ignored her previous plot and character development. It feels like whatever the opposite of fanfiction is - taking a character you have no respect or enjoyment of and writing for them because it's your job.

It's a waste of everyone's time, effort, and frankly, I could've written something better in high school.

Kaz's pov

'Come back,' Kaz thought as he heard your footsteps fade away from the door. He wanted to talk to you, but there was no way in hell he would approach you first. He did want you to know that he was sorry, though - the problem was that he had no idea how to show it.

Nina would probably suggest baking an 'I'm sorry,' cake. Jesper would most likely tell him to organise an apology flash mob, and Wylan and Matthias obviously weren't very well-versed in the language of romance.

...Which left Inej. Who he'd already snapped at, and who he was certain didn't want to see him at the moment.

Kaz inhaled deeply. What was it with him and messing up relationships? It was like everywhere he went, all the friends acquaintances he made, were bound to end horribly. And he really did think things with you would end differently. He'd counted on it.

Suddenly, a few knocks sounded at the door, and Kaz's heart skipped a beat. He hoped it was you coming to talk it out, maybe, or perhaps to just bask in each other's presence like you used to do. Hell, even if you came to yell at him instead, it'd be better than not seeing you at all.

However, his hopes were crushed when he heard Jesper say in a sing-song voice, "Boss? You alright in there? Inej was worried about you."

"I'm fine, Jesper," he griped.

He heard Jesper scoff. "As if I'm gonna buy that. You're not naked in there, are you?"

He knew that this was Jesper's way of asking permission to enter. Not even he was stupid enough to violate Kaz's privacy. Or, perhaps, he just cared enough not to.

"Come in," he said finally.

The door creaked loudly as Jesper all but slammed it open. He looked Kaz up and down, whistling judgementally. "You look rough. Trouble in paradise?"

"...Paradise?"

"Oh, you know..."

Kaz stared, hopefully communicating the fact that no, he did not know.

"I- come on, mate, I'm talking about Y/n. The two of you have been walking on eggshells around each other all week! Or, maybe not, since you haven't been walking around each other at all..."

"Your point being?"

"You and Y/n! What's wrong with you two?" Jesper exclaimed.

Kaz didn't respond for a few beats.

Then, "We had a fight."

"You've got to give me more than that, Kaz."

"They told me they loved me. I shut them down," he deadpanned.

It was Jesper's turn to be quiet. His mouth was open in a small 'o'. Kaz rolled his eyes.

"Okayyyy," Jesper said. "Alright!"

Kaz decided that he deeply disliked the glint in his eyes.

"We're gonna help you get back with Y/n," Jesper announced. "We being Inej and I, of course."

Kaz sighed, but didn't object when Jesper plopped down on his bed, and gestured for him to take the chair. When he sat down, Jes leaned forward conspirationally. "Now, before we proceed with this exceedingly important heist, there is one piece of vital information I absolutely must know." His voice dropped down to almost a whisper, and Kaz fought the urge to yet again roll his eyes. "Do. You. Love. Them?"

"Yes," he blurted, more quickly than he'd intended.

"Well, then you're gonna have to tell them that."

Kaz didn't make bad decisions.

Nor did he confess his love to people, but there was a first time for everything, as Inej had stated. "Tell them, Kaz," Inej had said. "Ask them out. I know you've never done this before, but there's a first time for everything."

Yes, there was a first time for asking you out, but there was also a first time for being rejected, and if that happened, he would be left with no choice but to dig himself a hole, and bury himself in it, never to see the light of day ever again. Not before wacking Jesper on the head with his cane, of course.

Inej smiled at him. "Don't overthink this. And please, stop looking like you're about to go murder Y/n instead of confess your feelings."

Jesper not-so-subtly stepped on her toes, and flashed him a thumbs up. Kaz rolled his eyes yet again, this time with such passion it was a wonder he didn't strain an ocular nerve in the process.

He walked to your room. On the journey there, he went over the advice Inej and Jesper had given him:

1) "Seem sincere, and wipe that scowl off your face, for Saint's sake."

2) "Ask Y/n if you can talk".

3) "Apologise, and be truthful. Treat them like your therapist - open up about your severe trust and commitment issu- ow, Inej!"

4) "Tell them you love them."

'Easy enough,' he thought, choosing to dutifully ignore the last step.

When he came face to face with your door, however, his mind went blank. Without thinking, he raised a fist and pounded it against the door once. Just once. You opened the door almost instantly, which set off at least a thousand alarms in Kaz's brain, all screaming 'YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR THIS. ABORT MISSION. ABORT MISSION.' 

"Kaz?" you tilted your head to the side in curiosity. 

"Y/n," he replied tersely. He realised he was scowling - exactly what Inej had told him not to do - and attempted to relax his facial features. "Can we talk?"

Surprise flickered in your eyes. "Uh, yeah. Sure." You stepped to the side, gesturing for him to come in. 

Kaz entered, but still remained hovering at the door, not daring to step in any further. He cleared his throat. Drummed his fingers restlessly against the head of his cane. Watched you as you attempted to look anywhere but at him. Cleared his throat again. Finally, he spoke: "I'm sorry."

Your head swivelled towards him. "What?" you said, shock apparent in your tone. 

Fuck, were you really going to make him say it again? "I said I'm sorry."

"Oh." 

"I'm sorry for- for snapping at you like that when you said… when you said it," he continued. "Accepting that someone like you feels that way about someone like me wasn't - isn't - easy, but, uh. You know."

"But, you're working on it?" you said teasingly, your lips curving into a shy half-smile.

"I guess."

You bit your lip. "Alright."

Alright? That’s all you were gonna say? 

I probably deserve it, he thought dryly. 

What was the next step of Inej and Jesper’s plan, again? 'Open up about your severe trust and commitment issues', was it? It didn’t seem like you were going to talk any time soon - no, you were just watching him with a curious yet guarded expression on your face. Not as if you were trying to figure out his next move, but as if you would welcome it when it came. Maybe it really was time he said fuck it and spilled his heart out to you.

“So, I’m sorry,” he began. “I’m sorry for shutting you out like I did. I didn’t want to do it, but I was… hesitant to accept your feelings, and… admit that I returned them.” He rushed through the last few words, but it was obvious you heard them; your eyes widened. “You’ve been more patient and understanding than I thought anyone would ever be when it came to me. I’m not used to kindness, but if it came from you, I think I could grow to love it… Just like I grew to love you." He cleared his throat. "I love you, Y/n.”

Your pov

Your brain short circuited, and the only thing you could do was open and close your mouth repeatedly like a dying fish, which, great job, now you looked like an idiot. 

"I- I love you, too," you stuttered out eventually. You exhaled, and diverted your gaze to the smudged window. "Wow, okay, I was not expecting that. Uhm." You looked back at Kaz. "...Thank you?"

He laughed softly, then pursed his lips to stop the chuckles. It was then you were reminded of why you loved him; not many - if any - people would agree with you, but Kaz smiling was an adorable sight to see. 

"You're so cute," you blurted.

Before you could stutter out an apology, Kaz made his way over to you and took your hand. He brought your hand to his lips, and pressed a feather light kiss to the back of it. And your poor heart - it was about to burst with affection for the man in front of you. 

"Thank you," Kaz said sincerely. 

"No problem…" you replied breathily.

Chapter 1

Summary for this chapter: Perhaps, the woman who happened to be teleported in the world of Jujutsu wasn't exactly the same woman he met back in that certain dimension after all. Would she still be a woman of use or just nugatory as Gojo Satoru could see fit?

Warnings: Mentions of Blood. Wounds. Todo being Todo. This happens in between the Goodwill Event, the Hanami incident. Some words written in Italics between dialogues only would be Romajis's for Japanese or English words being stated by specific characters from time to time. I've kind of shifted some scenes as well. Some gifs here and there. To those who already read my works, y'all know how I love inserting them in between chapters! 💙

Reminders to avoid confusion: Y'all would probably wonder how Gojo knows you---though, only in terms of appearance because the person who he's meeting here is not the same as whom he met in the special chapter in one of my other fanfics entitled Witcher of the Night. (It's a fanfic for The Witcher Series televised on Netflix) I don't even know why the heck I tried connecting both of these fanfics together. Think of it as a multi-verse. However, the woman---a.k.a reader in 7th Dimension is NOT the same nor have the same soul as the woman being portrayed in my other fic. They have different lives or history. They are entirely different but acquire the same appearances only. It's just so if you love The Witcher and also Jujutsu Kaisen, then you get the best of both worlds from my fanfic works. Heehee! From the moment Juzo Kumiya's curtain was destroyed and Satoru Gojo activating his Hollow Technique: Purple, a gigantic single purple sphere that was bound to obliterate everything in its path and to prevent from Hanami from leaving the Kyoto Sister-School Goodwill Event. The students of Kyoto Jujutsu High and Tokyo Jujutsu High were sure enough that the Special Grade Curse Spirit has been definitely annihilated.

But, not for the strongest sorcerer. He could sense there was more to it, probably even a bunch more surprising events that leave him dwelling that it was still alive.

"Yay! That settles everything!" Satoru gave principal Gakuganji a big thumbs up, completely irking him at the process as he grinned, his teeth radiating under the sunbeam of the early morning. The senile member of the higher-ups in the Jujutsu Society scowled before him, constantly hearing Juzo's pathetic whines and pained moans on the corner. Both sorcerers, leaving him bleeding out of his limbs due to Gojo's rash doing, planning that he was in for an interrogation.

He'd lifted a part of his blindfold, regarding such prodigal solution of his to this gatecrashing disturbance and closely observing if the special grade curse-spirit and curse users were still around the area. Gojo gave the scene a side-eye, unveiling one of his Arctic eyes which held great, compelling abilities that no other has inherited for the past hundred years.

The strongest Jujutsu sorcerer was absorbed in his own puzzling thoughts when he suddenly felt something else, making him blink twice.

Another intruder. Though, the emanations it held felt more familiar rather than the aleatory interlopers in the midst of the Goodwill Event.

He'd taken a pause, slightly taking him by surprise but never allowing other people to see through his astonishment, appearing to still remain unfazed by all and keeping himself under his cool, Satoru pointed back at Kyoto Jujutsu High's principal in a smug manner, calling in the shots for a halfly extirpated Juzo laying on the ground, "Principal Gakuganji, you take him out for interrogation, will ya'?"

Yoshinobu Gakuganji couldn't help the twitch form his mouth from his uncivilized talks, thoroughly antagonized by this particular sorcerer's existence and always seeing him as irritating and destructive. Gojo took no heed to his reply and instantaneously left him to his own, warping out of the scene to deal with another commotion that would be worth the bewilderment.

"Tch. This brat." the principal muttered beneath his breath as he deeply sighed.

Aoi Todo stood tall and proud with his chiseled, muscular build radiating beneath the sun's rays. Hands on his hips as he cackled out loud at the exceptional scenery that flashed before their eyes which happened to be Gojo's impractical way of cutting down a problem. The Grade 1 sorcerer was still chuckling as a single drop of sweat fell on the side of his neck, shaking his head from the sudden out turn.

Hanami was about to cast Domain Expansion if it weren't for the curtains which has been quickly destroyed by the man that was prohibited to enter, a curtain that pushed him out of the way to exclude himself in joining in the fun.

Gojo Satoru was never one to miss such ruckus especially when it had his students involved.

"Heh. I knew it. He's still nonstandard as ever." Todo deeply chuckled with a smirk, completely entertained by how Gojo's Hollow Technique crumbled half of Kyoto Jujutsu High into a disintegrating mess, the scene appeared like a large meteor came to ruin mother earth and its beauty, entirely a ramshackle Grand Canyon for the end of a world.

"Todo," Yuji Itadori, The Tiger of West Junior High and a first year student of Tokyo Jujutsu High who happened to be Sukuna's Vessel hollered for his friend's attention, how they quickly became friends on such a short amount of time still gets Itadori wondering what made it happen, "---Is this still Gojo Sensei's doing?"

What stood before them was a bottomless pit of bright abyss, the opposite of how a black hole could've been envisaged. Todo was quick enough to comprehend, its bright luminescence entirely taking them both as it also blinded them along the way. The partners in crime shielded themselves from the vivid streaks, momentarily looking away, squinting their eyes shut as it became drastic with every second.

It was obscuring their visions.

"Spatial Teleportation? No. This doesn't look like it. Unless he has learned something new or have been keeping something under his blindfold---"

In that instant, Todo heard a clamorous reverberation of a truck's horn, seeming to run them over through the blinding abyss. He was quick to revolt against the unforeseen collision and jumped high, the circular chasm closing in at least a second and cutting the Freight truck in half. The third year student couldn't believe his eyes as the scene before them unfold, zooming in on a woman flying out of the void who happened to have collided with the vehicle and appeared to be abominably thrashed by the impact.

"Yuji!" He loudly exclaimed as he was in the air, leaped high enough and hasty to even collide with the vehicle. Itadori's senses were also at high speed and like greased lightning, he'd grabbed you away, prancing to the sides before it has even slammed the both of you, "I got her!"

"Half a truck. Ha!---" Todo commented, guffawing at the unsought intrusion of something they didn't understand. He fell flat on his slippers, sauntering towards the huge truck cut in half. It hit a tree and probably ruined it due to the powerful impact of collision. He noticed that there was no one controlling the vehicle up front, leaving him looking utterly baffled by the accident, "---Where's the driver, then?"

"She's badly battered and bleeding." Itadori brought into the open, stating the obvious as he observed your wounds and bleeding skull. Blood seeped out of a deep, opened wound surrounding the side of your head, hemorrhage transparent and starting to begin for how beaten up you were, crimson liquid flowing down and probably staining his school uniform more than he even did to himself even after the fight with Hanami.

"We need to get her to Shoko-Senpai." He added and stood up, taking no sweat in carrying you in both his arms, determined to take a run for it to save your life as he gave Todo a glance, skeptical why the muscle-bound man has an expression of distrust.

"A woman who we don't know and who's certainly not Takada," Todo scoffed with a grin, crossing his burly arms as he closely observed you in curiosity, trying to see if you were a sorcerer, non-sorcerer or a cursed spirit.

An uncalled school of thought distracted him from the unfortunate incident. Without a doubt, it was not the right time for it. His impression telling him that you weren't his type in women. Though, Todo kept his mouth shut for the impertinent discussions for the meantime.

Yuji gave him a blank look, he knew it was not the right time for his fanboying nature when he was holding an immensely injured woman.

"Is she friends with the tree?" The pink haired student suddenly asked, eyeing Todo in doubt but utterly puzzled by the situation as he started to mutter random conjectures over your surprising entrance, "What if she's a ticking time bomb sent by the Special Grade Cursed Spirit and---"

Aoi Todo gave Yuji Itadori a point of his hand, motioning towards your battered self who was being held by his friend, "Then don't touch her, my Besto-Friendo."

"And leave her bleeding on the ground?" Itadori asked in disbelief, his tone sounding like he was alarmed of the situation that Todo wanted to happen, "---Todo," he continued, trying to catch his attention when the brawny man's shoulders shook from laughing out loud at his friend's reaction.

He was only kidding when he found Yuji's reaction utmost comical, never believing that he actually convinced him that he was serious.

Todo reached out, showing both robust arms to Itadori and offered to help and give you to the school's doctor instead, "I'll carry her then---"

Both men halted in between their chitter-chatters, seeming to feel like they were visited by a strong sorcerer who has saved the day. They've turned their heads to confirm and straightaway knew by the amount of cursed energy they've felt from the man.

There stood the honored one, Gojo Satoru who had his hands inside his pockets, standing tall as he wore his black blindfold. His moisturized lips inscrutable for them to know what he was thinking, though deep inside, there was no doubt that they were thinking that he wanted to give a remark over something because the Sensei never runs out of anything to say.

Surprisingly which was unconditionally enough to bowl over on, all they've gotten from him was a call of their name.

"Todo, Yuji." Satoru nonchalantly acknowledged, offering them a smile and bringing them to their attention. They were thinking that he was wondering who was the bleeding woman in his student's arms.

However, they had no idea that the Jujutsu Sorcerer knew your arrival beforehand.

"Hai, Gojo-Sensei." Itadori acknowledged his teacher with a respectful tone, turning at least ninety degrees to show the harmed woman in his arms, "She appeared out of nowhere, going through some type of dimensional-teleportation technique---" he was cut off by Todo who immediately questioned his theories.

"Is there even---" Itadori interrupted back, shrugging to himself as Gojo began to stroll towards where they stood, "Other than Gojo-Sensei who can warp in a definite amount of distance? No." he sounded rest-assured and continued his assumptions, "---But, in the movies, Yes. I guess."

Without even lifting a part of his blindfold, the strongest sorcerer knew then and there that the woman Yuji Itadori was holding is you, yet he felt like his own assurance held no concrete evidence because he knew himself that there was something different with the battered girl who was breathing on his student's arms versus the woman he met when he travelled in a dimension he hardly knew about.

A very strange one if Gojo Satoru was honest. It looked like you were living in a foreign world or a movie he could make Yuji watch for hours and actually learn how to fight using swords and those weak looking weapons.

He could hear your shallow breathing. You were breathing. You weren't dead. But, you could be if he stalled long enough.

You better not be dead when you actually knew what was going to happen in the future with just one touch to his face because your words were entirely accurate. There actually has been gatecrashers in the midst of the Goodwill Event, knowing Gojo---he doubted at first and never believed a single thing. However, after everything that has happened, he was convinced that the woman he met back then was a forecaster of the future.

Hence, this wounded woman happened to look exactly the same as her.

Though, he could feel it---doubted that this woman who was badly injured is the same person who he met back in that particular dimension.

"Is she teamed up with the cursed-spirits? Or just a non-sorcerer?" Todo was engaged in the conversation with Yuji, eyeing his friend and the woman in his arms, "---She should be dead then."

Aoi Todo was responsive enough of the surprising, self-effacing sensei who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts. He was also confident enough to call him out in between his abnormal silence and wanted to try and pry. "Oi, oi, oi!" the beefy man burst out with a grin as he was keeping an eye on Gojo Satoru who kept to be reticent, "Ha! well, this is a first---" A pause. "---Some dirt caught in your blindfold or something?"

"Yuji," Gojo repeated for the second time, weirdly unresponsive of Todo's razz as he retrieved his hands out of his pockets and tried to catch his student's attention who seemed to be like he was also lost in his own thoughts. He noticed how his teacher was motioning him to place you in his arms. Itadori blinked twice towards Satoru's outstretched arms and onto the bleeding woman who was unfortunately, you.

"Huh---right, Sensei." His student finally responded, willingly and carefully placing you in Gojo's long arms.

"I'll get her to Shoko."

Y/N be living the dream, now in Gojo's arms---IT'S MY DREAM! NOT HER! MY DREAM MAS! *kicks the ground*

1. Historical or Futuristic

oooooo this one is tough because I literally have 2 wips of each! But if I had to pick, it's Historical. I like doing research –there, I said it!

2. The Opening or Closing Chapter

Openings are SO HARD, I struggle the most there, so I'm going with Closings. They feel a little more natural.

3. Light + Fluffy or Dark + Gritty

This was also a tough one because I like to balance, but, I tend to lean towards Dark & Gritty first. Y'know, pull at them heartstrings a bit.

4. Animal Companion or Found Family

Oh, Found Family, every time. I feel like I make animal companions too cheesy, but I'm a sucker for Found Family. "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb" Me: Cries every time

5. Horror or Romance

Horror is fun, don't get me wrong, I'm just not well versed in it. Romance, to me, has so much potential. It can be soft and sweet, or it can be the most clueless process between idiots sharing one brain cell.

6. Hard or Soft Magic System

Soft Magic Systems, I have the memory of a goldfish and the patience of a gnat. Hard Magic has too many rules!

7. Standalone or Series

Another near impossible pick! My knee-jerk is standalone, but I'm gonna have to be honest and pick Series. There are too many ideas for just one adventure!

8. One Project at a Time or Always Juggling 2+

Thankfully, my brain is a one-track kinda operation. I work on 1 at a time (although working on more than one sounds like a superpower!) The scary part is it's like a light switch, and I can move from one to the next in an instant. Never know when it's coming.

10. Fantasy or Sci-fi

Sci-fi. Hands down. I love reading Fantasy, but as far as writing, Sci-Fi hits the spot!

11. Character or Setting Description

I almost picked Setting, just because I have low-key face blindness, but if we're counting action, emotion, and personality, I'm gonna go with Character. I love making Characters y'all.

12. First or Final Draft

First Draft, way more fun. First Draft is like Spring Break. You just dive in there, forget everything you know, get lost, make mistakes, but you're having a blast. Final draft is like Finals Week.

13. Literary or ‘Commercial’ Genre

Not gonna lie, this question tripped me up. (I had to look these up) But if I had to pick I'd say Literary. Just because I'm not for that cookie-cutter "trendy" bit I'm picking up from Commercial. (Although, I may have misunderstood)

14. Love Triangle in Everything or No Romantic Arcs

Nope, no love triangle. I'm sorry, no. Nope. Neeeeeeeow. I rather do No Romantic Arcs than hint at love triangles. Early 00's YA ruined it for me. (Plus, platonic friend love is 👌)

15. Constant Sandstorm or Rainstorm

I've never been in a sandstorm, and, honestly, they look horrifying. Plus rainy weather is so cozy! Give me some coffee and it's perfect for writing. (Sand is the devil. I don't want it in my lungs. Thank you.)

So,

Favorite color: blueeeee!!, but honestly I love almost every color and it depends on the mood to decide which one I'll choose or use or whatever

Currently reading: besides my 16 open ao3 tabs, I'm reading "The butterfly garden" by Dot Hutchison, which I haven't got the chance to read that much since school and more stuff has kept me pretty busy, but yeah, so far it's been engaging and I'm a sucker for psychos so I hope it's good.

Last song: Man, lately I've been going down a Rammstein spiral and oh baby Jesus I swear my family can't be more sweet about enduring my daily five hours blasting their songs at full volume. Last one I heard just a few minutes ago while finishing my homework was "Sonne" from the "Klavier" album and, seriously, if y'all feel like it you should check out the song, IT'S JUST *CHEF KISS*; I swear that whole album speaks directly to my soul, but this song in particular does something to me. The notes for the verses are so dark and intense, just like the original song, but at the same time it has this neat and elegant detail, and don't even get me started on the chorus part, because it really gives me the chills. Is so delicate and smooth and delightful I can not not fall in love with it.

Last series: Yesterday I couldn't sleep so I opened Netflix and played one of the first ones that appeared on recommendations. It was about a girl who pretends to be rich and plays the elite, I don't remember well the name but I think it was something with "Anna" in it lol

Sweet, savory, spicy: For what, exactly? Lmao. Uh... If we're talking food, for dessert obviously sweet. For food in general, bro, I'm Mexican, I eat spicy food all day every day, and I love it. As for savory, i guess sometimes?

Currently working on: Trying to perfectly schedule my days between school, study for a super important exam that is twisting my guts with the anticipation and getting back to practice with my guitar :(( it makes me real sad I don't have enough time to play again. I'm hoping on sparing some time next weekend and get acquainted with my baby again.

All my novels have some sociopolitical point to make and some psychological avenues to explore, I'm very much not an escapist author and I want to make people think about their relationships with others and society around them, so to see this succeeding is also very vindicating. AAAAA I think I mentioned this somewhere else but this is my favorite one to see. My absolute favorite! YEAHHH I mentioned this in another post but I think Serpents would make for an amazing animated television series - very stylized animation, go all Arcane or Spider-Verse with it and give a unique artstyle to every pantheon, have the colors clash! It'd be so good!
