Ernest makes it to Cregan's solar first, Ron not far on his heels. Panting, the younger speaks up first when Cregan Stark shoots them a bewildered look whilst hunched over his oak desk.
"Was Lady Stark due for some business today, My Lord?" He asked, catching his breath as Cregan sat up in his seat, attention fully on the guards.
"Not any that I'm aware of. Where is my wife?" He asked, glancing outside of his small window to the blistering storm outside. There was no way she would be anywhere except her chambers—not after he caught her soothing Brandon to sleep. The sight had melted his heart immediately, glad to see his wife finally finding it in her to go see him, to give him a chance.
Though, he could not blame her, of course. He could still remember the day he brought the Stark babe home, and how he dreaded the meet throughout his months of journeying home to Winterfell.
Aelys had been on the forefront of his mind, even through the slimy politicking of King's Landing. The wait was only made ever longer by the fact that the party Cregan traveled North with had to wait until Brandon was old enough to travel, too. Moons went by painstakingly slow, and Cregan moved to load the carriage for the boy as soon as the Maester gave his word that Bran would not be suseptible to the outdoors during long durations on the road.
Cregan dismounted his grey mare, patting her on the neck in thanks before the stable boy guided her back to her designated place. With a tense sigh, he rolled his shoulders and opened the carriage door that held Brandon and his new wet nurse. Sara, his older sister, would join the family in a few short weeks while she continued her stay at the Blackwood's. He wished she was here to console his wife in the coming days. Gods know that he cannot, not when the news of his betrayal had to come from his own mouth. As he promised himself it should be. The sinner should say his own penance, no one else. A Stark is a slave to his oaths.
Thanking Greya kindly, Cregan picked up Bran in his arms. His onyx black curls shifted against the crook of his arm as he shifted the babe to be held better. The four moon-old babe fussed as he was removed from the woman's comforting hold. As if was, Cregan was more of a stranger to the young babe than his wet nurse was. Unfortunately, the Lord had not spent the amount of time with him as he knew he should have. The thoughts and guilt racked up in his mind and burned at the back of his throat every day, leaving Cregan to promise himself that in Winterfell he would spend more time with him.
Another promise for the list.
Cregan stepped through the courtyard's archway, holding his breath as he watched his beautiful wife standing by the Keep's doors, shivering but still insisting that she come out to meet her husband. Her smile was as lovely and bright as he remembered, a much more contented and relieved smile than she had sent him off to battle with. That day, she could hardly stifle her tears back as she hugged him 'goodbye'. He felt quite the same. Cregan would never leave for Southern business again, not in his lifetime. Once had been enough to last generations, though he was sure the Stark family would not go too long before being summoned again.
Her face shifted from joy to confusion in a matter of seconds. As Cregan continued straight towards her, Bran bundled up in so many wools and pelts that it entirely engulfed the babe. She lifted her skirts to step down to meet him. Originally, Cregan had wished to scoop her up in his arms and place a sweet kiss on her cold lips, but the bundle between them prevented such things. He could not greet her so sweetly and then present the bastard to her. Ripping the bandage off a fresh wound, Cregan would not be deceitful for longer than he had been during his moons of silence in the South.
"Husband," She smiled, reaching out to touch his chilled face, pink in the cheeks and ears from exposure. "You should come inside. A feast has been prepared for you—and your men, of course." She was antsy on her feet, eager to get inside to proper reunite with her husband, no bystanders gawking.
Speaking of bystanders—Cregan's entire party had separated and dispersed around the courtyard. They met their own wives, parents, or children as they laughed and conversed. Though, the loud and joyous clamor soon died down when whispers had been spread around by those who already knew of Cregan's boy. Wives that knew Aelys well stared in pity, clutching their shawls to their chests and shaking their heads quietly at their Lord.
He fought the urge to hang his head.
She had not yet seen the babe, only the cloth surrounding him.
"Cregan?" She whispered, tilting her head with concerned eyes. "What is wrong?" His sweet, sweet wife. Her first priority had been him over anything since the days of their honeymoon—the days she had confessed to be extremely anxious about during their courtship. She was a Northern woman herself, hardened and shaped like an ice sculpture but retaining her warm heart and spirit. Cregan had intimidated her greatly, according to her giggling confession, and she had feared he may be a cruel and selfish man since he could easily do as he wished to his Lady wife. He proved her wrong, apparently, getting to know his wife throughout their private honeymoon. They had a bond like no other, always at each other's side and filling in for the weaknesses of the other during their duties as leaders.
Cregan's brow furrowed deep, blinking away as he felt his nose start to sting.
Only then, when his glossy eyes met hers silently, did she glance down to the cloths. Slowly reaching up a shaky, gloved hand adjusted the pelts so she could peer past them. Gasping at the pale babe, Aelys' eyes sharply met his. A million thoughts raced through her head, clearly showing in her facial expressions. Not assuming the worst, as she probably should have done, Aelys asked, "has one of your men died? Is this babe an orphan?" Always so trusting of her Lord husband, something Cregan had admired and was eternally grateful for throughout their marriage.
"Aelys..." He cleared his throat when his voice came out much too quiet and hoarse. "This is my son." He declared to her, and to the onlooking crowd who did not bother hiding scandalized gasps.
Her eyes blinked in rapid succession, shaking her head lightly and smiling. "Don't jest, Cregan. We have no son."
His silence met her words. When he did not cave and admit to messing with his wife, Aelys shook her head more firmly. "No." She said, whispering. Her eyes clamped shut as she breathed in and out deeply, only opening to glance down at the babe, scrutinizing its appearing and comparing every freckle to Cregan's. "Don't do this to me, please. You would never do this to me." Her words were nearly lost to the air.
"It was one time, I swear it on my honor and Stark name." Cregan told her.
"On your name?" She harshly bit, stepping away from Cregan as if he had burned her. "Your honor? You swore on your honor the day we said our vows under the Weirwood tree. Under OUR Gods. Did that mean nothing to you? Did I—" She gasped out, covering her mouth with the back of her hand and clutching her stomach. A choking sob rippled through her, and Greya stepped forward to gingerly take Brandon from Cregan's grasp. His arms fell to his side, clenching as he stopped himself from holding his wife in comfort. She could find no solace in the man who hurt her so.
"I thought you wished to wait. You told me you wanted it, too. Was it just not me you wanted a family with?" She asked, cranking her neck up to look at her shameful husband.
"Aelys, I did—I do!" He started, stepping forward to wipe a hot tear from her cheek.
Flinching away from his touch, she looked up at him with the same mistrust and solemn acceptance that he found in a dying prey's eyes. Suddenly, Aelys looked to become aware of the crowd. Glancing around self-consciously, she straightened herself upright like the people expected of a Lady Stark. "The feast is growing cold. Enjoy it while it's warm." She loudly adressed the weary party and their families, who awkwardly moved to shuffle inside the dining hall. With a final glance past Cregan's shoulder to the wet nurse, Aelys was gone.
Seeing the shared glances of horror between the two, Cregan cleared his throat. "Where is my wife, boys?"
Ernest swallowed harshly, not daring to look him in the eye. "She—she said that she 'ad business in Winter Town. That you approved of it, I swear!"
Ron nodded so quickly that his head of curls messed about and framed his face further. The snow still on their heads and shoulders had now melted in the warmth of the Great Keep, reminding Cregan of the harsh weather the guards had to bear all day. They were trained and honed for such conditions, Aelys was not.
"Yes, Lord Stark! We couldn't disobey our Lady's words." He insisted.
"You think I'd make my wife go settle business in Winter Town during a blizzard?" He growled out, standing from his seat and storming between them to his doorway, where he turned on them and saw them both flinch in shock. "Which way did she go?"
"Uhm..." they shared another glance. "She said Winter Town, Lord Stark. What other way would she have gone?"
Cursing, Cregan grabbed Ice and lifted the great sword to his shoulder. He left without another word to anybody, knowing every second counted when it came to finding her. "Bloody fools." He scoffed to himself, mind turning and thinking of places she might head to.
Clearly, not Winter Town. She had no business there, not that he knew of, and although they had not been speaking these past moons he still oversaw all of her duties as Lady. Though, her reports of dealings and responsibilities was done through the Maester rather than her own mouth. A middleman, the poor elder had become. Cregan endured the silence without complaint, knowing his own actions brought it upon him.
His actions brought her further away from him than he perhaps estimated. He knew the babe would tear a rift in their relationship, and knew it would take a long time before they could even begin to mend it—but he never wanted it to go this far.
Back to her childhood home, to the Glovers in the Motte? Or, perhaps she found a secret lover that would meet her in the storm like a destined and tragic fairytale. He would not blame her for seeking love in another, though his never faded.
His quickened pace was only interrupted by Sara. "What is the rush for, brother?" The elder woman asked, dark brows furrowed with concern. Other the past four moons she had gained her strength back, looking the picture of health now that she was back home and recovering. Cregan could barely meet her gaze, looking between her and the doors ahead.
"My wife is gone." He told her honestly, shifting impaitiently in place. "I don't know where to, but I'm going to search for her."
Sara's dark eyes saddened, face scrunching up in grief. "This is my fault. I should have—"
Cregan stopped her immediately, taking her firmly by the shoulders and dipping his neck down to level himself. "No. It is mine alone. I made the choice to do this, I shall face the consequences of my actions."
"Cregan..." she sniffed, but did not allow tears to fall so easily.
"I'll be back." He promised. "With my wife."
Was she running away?
Cregan swung open the Great Keep's door, blinking staggardly at the wind gust that slammed into him. Not bothing to close it behind him, Cregan stormed to the stables and tacked his horse up. In a matter of minutes he was off and out of Winterfell's expansive walls.
His only option was to head towards Glover territory. It was a two days ride normally, but the storm would make it double or perhaps longer. She would not be far ahead, not even two hours ahead of Cregan and unknowing of how close he might be on her trail.
There were not even hoofprints left in her wake. The snow immediately covered all tracks and left only pristine fields of white powdery frost.
He would not know where she was until he spotted her amongst the white. Cobalt, her black stallion, was sure to stand out within close enough distance.
Until he did see her, he could only wait.
And it was exactly that; a waiting game. Cregan took only three days to reach the Deepwood Motte, faster than he anticipated. He was weary and exhausted, but still pumping with adrenaline and awake off sheer will. Here, in the safe walls of Harriston Glover's keep, his mare could finally have more than a few measly hours of rest, as well as food and water.
His fingers and toes burned with the edges of frostbite. Even in his thick protective gear, he was not entirely safe. The few, small fires that he built for himself in the cold nights gave him only a semblance of warmth. Each step felt like five as his vision blurred and weaned in and out. He steadied himself on a pole, waiting for his father-in-law to come downstairs to greet him. And, if luck be on his side, his Lady wife.
He owed more than an apology.
Harriston was a stern man, though not unreasonable. He loved his children and ensured they had only the best; education, caretakers, spouses. His eldest two children married long before Aelys was even of age to be wed, both men marrying Northern girls that they'd grown up with. When it came to his youngest and only girl, the man knew Lord Stark would be a most auspicious match. The Houses had long been friends and allies, and keeping the tradition of partnership thriving through marriage was no strange thing. He'd been even happier when Aelys wrote to him weekly, describing how enchanted she had been with her new husband and thanking him profusely for giving her a blessed match.
Now, the greyed man stood in front of Cregan with a deepset frown and a fierce look in his eyes. "Lord Stark. I thought you'd be busy in Winterfell."
Cregan cleared his throat, focusing on him intently. It made sense that the man was cross with him, especially after he assumed that Aelys had sent him a few lengthy letters telling of Cregan's infidelity. "I came to see my wife, and to bring her back home."
Harriston huffed a sarcastic laugh. "You send her back home, only to come yourself first?" He gestured around with his arms up.
Cregan tensed, "first? Is Aelys not already here?"
Lord Glover matched in his seriousness. "Aelys wrote to me three days ago, informing me that you had sent her here to be away from danger."
"I did not send her anywhere."
"You mean you do not know where my daughter is?" He asked, voice low and firm as he stepped closer. Though Harriston was a fine swordsman and a battle-worn fighter, Cregan did not fear the Lord's wrath, for he could easily best him in combat.
He did, however, have the brains to fear a furious father's vengeance.
His heart nearly beat out of his chest. "And she stated that she was on her way here?"
"I think I know what she said, boy." Lord Glover hissed. "Where is Aelys?"
"She must still be out there," Cregan murmured breathlessly, turning on his heel and running out of the fort's doors and back out to the stables. Cobalt was in none of them, confirmed to him that Lord Glover was not simply lying and hiding his wife away from him.
Cregan decided to take another horse—one well rested and ready to travel in the packed snow, unlike his own weary mare. Guiding it to the doors where Lord Glover had exited and looked at Cregan with a fear unlike the learned man usually expressed, he asked: Where are the kennels?"
When Aelys left to brave the storm alone, she had not anticipated the sheer unforgivable nature of it. Living in the North her whole life, she'd long grown used to cold weather and hunting for herself. Hunts often lasted days or weeks, being times of comraderie and companionship when out in the wilderness with your people. She had not been hunting in years, much less alone.
The snow had slowed her travel significantly and clouded her navigational judgment. North became South, and East became West after so long of walking. With the skies so darkened, it was even harder to tell the time of day. With every stop she made and every fire that burnt out too quickly for her to be fully warm, Aelys had grown desperate.
She found shelter in a half-conscious act to preserve her on life. Now, curled up with only her fur-lined dress and the pelt she had brought from Winterfell, she could not help but begin to accept that she would die in this cave.
Aelys thought of her life in a few curt thoughts.
She had only lived twenty and two years. She grew up with loving parents and two elder brothers who doted on her greatly. She married Lord Stark of Winterfell, someone who took her heart quicker than she'd ever thought possible. She would die here, alone and cold because of him.
She thought of all the things she had wanted from life. Not much, for a Lord's daughter. Aelys had always wanted love and gave love in return. Trusted perhaps too much and did not gain from it. She wished for children, eventually, and could never have them now. She wished to see the warm deserts of Dorne and the lush gardens of Old Town in her retirement.
Aelys Bolton would not see anything but the North, nothing but the cold snow and frost-tippes trees around. They had grown familiar and warm.
Warm.
She was so warm, now.
Aelys closed her eyes and fell asleep, dreaming of better days.
"You do not wish to return home to a babe in the nursery?" Aelys asked, voice low and humming as Cregan lay beneath her on their shared bed. Most men did, misliking the process of pregnacy but loving the outcome, for it could only serve to benefit them.
"We will have plenty of time for babes when I come back to you." He replied, brushing his lips over her the crown of her head. "What kind of husband would I be if I left you to deal with the struggles of pregnancy and birth all alone?"
"I won't be alone. Sara is staying, too. I will have a sister to keep me company and complain all my grievances about my missing husband to her." She said amusedly.
Cregan paused in his rhythmic stoking of her spine. "Sara has asked to come, my heart."
She paused, too, lifting her head from his chest and squinting at him. "Sara can come down to King's Landing with you, but I cannot?"
He sighed, shaking his head. "She will be staying at the Blackwood's residence at Raventree Hall, not King's Landing. I would never endanger either of you by bringing you to the capitol. She has been offered guest housing by her friend, Alysanne Blackwood, during my time down there."
She huffed, conceding to his words and dropping her head back down, listening again to his ever-steady heartbeat. "Must be nice to see the Riverlands." She said lightly. "I hear they have fields of flowers growing year-round."
"And the permanent smell of fish and mildew." Cregan added with a snort. "You're not missing anything, I swear it to you. Sara and I will be gone for a short period of time. I intend to leave as soon as things are settled and put to rest."
Aelys hummed her quiet acknowledgment. There was no argument to be had, not when Cregan was set to leave in the morning. "There must always be a Stark in Winterfell." She said cheekily, though there was plenty truth to the statement. Alone, she would serve as political head to Winterfell and the temporary 'Warden' while Cregan was missing in action. She had her advisors, consisting of Cregan's trusted councilmen, but the hole that she knew would sink itself into her heart already wore her into her.
Cregan laughed at her words, nodding. "Aye, my love, you will do perfectly. I'm sorry to leave you alone for so long, but I have no doubt you'll do great." He said proudly, kissing her nose. She scrunched it up at the ticklish feeling, allowing a girlish giggle to leave her throat.
"Don't be gone too long, husband. Your wife needs you here." She said, tilting her head up to meet his lips.
"I would never dream of it."
The moons passed by with no reprieve for Aelys. As Winterfell's sole head, her days were busy from dawn til dusk. Letters were exchanged sporadically with her husband while he helped Aegon iii ascend to his place on the iron throne.
Until, one day, his letters ceased. It had already been a full year without Cregan Stark, and Aelys was beginning to grow used to the lack of her husband and sister by her side. Routine had grown to be instinct for her, breezing through her duties like she'd done them all her life. The only thing missing was her lover.
Concerned, Aelys checked in with the resident Maester to ensure Cregan's wellbeing.
When he paused, lips pursed and hands clutching at his cane with a stress unlike the calm elder, he rasped out his own fears. "I, too, have received no word from Lord Stark. Though, no news has come of us death in the capitol, so he must simply be occupied."
Occupied at the end of the war? When Aegon had already been named King and all the men put to trial were either declared guilty or innocent? The brunt of the work was over and done with—told by Cregan himself.
So why was he silent for an entire moon?
It was another fortnite before the Stark wrote back to her. The letter was curt and brief.
My dearest Aelys,
Forgive my abrupt silence these past weeks. Please know that you have been on my mind throughout this entire time.
Sara has grown sick in Raventree Hall, and has not been able to travel with the host of men I have sent back home to the North. We will stay behind for another few moons while she is in recovery. I will return to you soon.
With love,
Cregan Stark.
It was shorter than his other letters by many paragraphs, pages even. Cregan left out no details when describing his miserable times in the capitol. Aelys found herself much enjoying his theatrical melodramatic retelling and was rendered bemused by this letter. Still, she continued to lead with no pause for breaks.
Three more moons later, and Cregan wrote that he was mere days away from Winterfell. Without Sara Snow, unfortunately, as she was still not entirely recovered, but his party could be postponed no longer.
Aelys rushed around Winterfell's Keep in a flurry of excitement. She ordered every room to be cleaned spotless, for rations to be saved for days until a feast could be made for their arrival, for hearths to be extra tended to, and for the courtyard to be prepared to clear the way for the host.
Finally, the days of busy bodies floating around the Great Keep came to a stop. The feast was warm and ready at all available tables. The hearths were warm and ready for sleepy heads to rest within the rooms. The tubs were filled with scalding hot water that would warm by the time they were used. Lady Stark stood for hours at the Great Keep's entry stairs in the courtyard.
She wanted to be there exactly when he walked through the archway. Despite the cold biting at her nose, the Lady stood resiliant and tall.
It was nearly in the afternoon when Cregan's party arrived. He came through first, leading as head of the host as any Lord should. A wheelhouse followed, surrounded by a small league of soliders all around it. She bounced on her heels slightly, seeing Cregan dismount from his ride. Though she found herself bemused and slightly hurt when he glanced at her and made his way towards the wheelhouse instead. Had Sara recovered enough to join and perhaps wanted to surprise her good sister? She hoped so, for she had missed her greatly. After growing up with only brothers, Aelys found a best friend and sister in Sara Snow. The whispers about Lady Stark befriending the bastard of Winterfell followed her around like a dark shadow, but she never paid them any mind.
Bastardry had never bothered Aelys before. Not even when she was a woman of noble birth and was taught that bastards were born inherently lustful, evil, and made of sin.
She waited patiently at the top of the steps for Cregan to fetch Sara.
To her surprise, he only pulled out of the carriage with a bundle of clothes in his arms. Pelts and blankets, it seemed. A plainly-dressed woman from the South stepped out after him but stayed trailing behind. A maid of some sort, though she had no clue as to why a Southern maid would need to follow Cregan back to Winterfell.
As he strided towards her, a strange and unhappy look on his face, she forced her anxiety back down her throat and raced to meet him. "Husband," she greeted with a smile. "You should come inside. A feast has been prepared for you—and your men, of course." Reaching out to caress his face and simultaneously brush flecks of snow from his loose hair, she couldn't help but stop to admire her husband's handsome features. It had felt like an eternity that they were separated, and she had begun to forget the full details of his frame. Forgot his scent in the room and his side of the bed. Nearly forgot the warmth that he provided simply from standing nearby.
The very warmth he is giving to her now, in the chilly courtyard.
His eyes appeared to gloss, his nose and cheeks pinking even more so than they had already grown in the biting air. Glancing over Cregan, she assessed quickly for signs of fatigue or illness.
"Cregan?" she asked gently. "What is wrong?" She prayed he did not catch whatever Sara had caught, or hid a wound under his mass of leathers and pelts.
When he shiftly lifted the bundle in his arms to gesture for her to look at it, she finally spared a look to the mysterious ball of cloth. She had completely forgotten about it until now, noticing the maid still behind Cregan a few yards back, head tilted down and looking at her slippers. Peeking over a fur pelt, Aelys gasped at the sight. A babe, only a few moons old by the looks of it. Her mind raced with possibilities. Why would Cregan bring a babe back instead of leaving it in more temperate climates like the Riverlands that he stayed in on the way up North?
"Has one of your men died?" She asked in a hushed tone, assuming first that one of his soldiers perhaps fathered a bastard babe before perishing in a battle or falling to sickness. "Is the babe an orphan?" Cregan did always have a soft spot for younglings, showcased clearly by his time spent personally training young squires of Winterfell. He had lost his own younger brother in their youth, and the hole had never filled from that loss of kin.
"Aelys..." he started, meeting her eyes with a soft and sympathetic look. "This is my son." Was said loud and clear for any listeners to hear.
A jest. Cregan had seldom liked to be humorous in front of crowds, or anyone but herself and Sara, but he must have been in good spirits today. Briefly glancing at the surrounding people, she found only pitiful looks from the women and severe looks from the men. Shaking her head, Aelys forced a smile onto her face and a shaky laugh. "Don't jest, Cregan. We have no son." She emphasized.
He only stared at her back. No words of comfort, no sudden burst of laughter among his men to tell her that the biggest prank in the world had been pulled on her. Just shameless silence.
He had declared her second best in front of all of Winterfell. Her people and his.
"No." She said firmly, shaking her head 'no'. She breathed in and out deeply, trying to clear her blurry eyes and woozy head. Glaring down at the false babe in his arms, she found many similarities that she wished she had not. The same straight brows that Cregan had, the same scattered freckles, the same pale skin. The only difference was the hair color—black as a midnight sky or dragonglass. The mother must be beautiful.
Moving her eyes to the maid behind Cregan, she found that the girl had a mousy blonde color to her tresses. She could not have possibly bore a black-haired babe. She felt sick, like she'd throw up and choke at the same time. "Don't do this to me. You'd never do this to me." She pleaded out, voice small and hoarse.
"It was one time. I swear it on my honor and Stark name." Cregan promised. But every word was like poison, filling her heart with a heavy black liquid and drowning her from the inside out.
"On your name?" She hissed out, uncaring of the onlookers for this one moment. She was allowed to be angry, callous, and spiteful, even. Any self-respecting woman would be. And she'd be damned if she wasn't. Any Stark woman ought to be when ruling over the entire North. Any Glover woman is.
"Your honor? You swore on your honor the day we said our vows under the Weirwood tree. Under OUR Gods! Did that mean nothing to you? Did I—?" Words spilled from her mouth before she can think properly. But she did not regret any of them, knowing she was in the right. Bile rose in her throat, pushing itself past the forced down emotions. She swiftly covered her mouth, stilling herself to prevent any more embarrassing. Subconsciously, she clutched at her empty stomach with her free hand, both mourning the fact that she'd have no children and thanking the Gods for not giving her any previously. A cry finally escaped her lips, watching the plain maid take the babe into her arms again as Cregan looked on helplessly to his wife.
Aelys found her voice again, though it was ragged and tired. "I thought you wished to wait. You told me you wanted it, too." He was a liar, the worst kind of man. "Was it just not me you wanted a family with?"
She'd rather be struck with his hand than his deceitful mouth. It would hurt much less.
"I did, Aelys—I do!" He pleaded, stepping forward to console her. His arms looked like steel traps in her louded mind.
She took a lengthy step back. She would not share his warmth, nor his love. Or his bed, his room, his damned dining room. His children. Not when he had shared it with another woman. Given her his love, his attention, his son.
She could not bear to keep herself calm any longer. Adressing the entire courtyard, who had made themselves the Stark's own personal peanut gallery, she spoke firmly. "The feast is growing cold. Enjoy it while it's warm." Without a second glance back at the Stark, Aelys excused herself to her chambers, where she emptied the contents of her stomach into the chamberpot until she could only dry-heave nothingness. These chambers had not been used since she arrived in Winterfell, instead choosing to sleep and stay in their marital ones. She would not step foot into those again unless she was dragged kicking and screaming.
Aelys awoke to strong arms lifting her from the stone floor. Groggily, she was stirred from her deep and preserving sleep. How long had she been traveling? How long had she been buried under those pelts? Time was a blur when she was in a near comatose state, dead to the world. Limbs were numbed and her body felt warm after so long in the cold weather.
"I've got you, sweet girl. We're going home." A familiar voice rung in the back of her head. Even the jolting movements of a horse trotting could not fully move her to consciousness as she fell back asleep.
When she fully gained her sense of mind, she could clearly hear the sound of two men arguing. The warmth of a hearth was next to her as she lifted heavy blankets and furs off of her body. Glancing around, Aelys found herself back right where it all started. In Cregan's room, formerly their marital chambers that she had long since moved out of. A large oil painting sat over the heart, depicting a newlywed image of her and Cregan. They both smiled brightly in the photo, much to Cregan's complaint that the painting did not make him look 'serious enough'. She only laughed and tipped the painter extra gold dragons for the accuracy.
She loved that painting more than any others they kept in the Great Keep. Now, the two faces looking down at her only served to remind her of the falsehood she lived every day while Cregan was absent. Taking care of Winterfell and the North all by herself, just to come back and be thanked by his uncouth mistakes.
Shakily standing up, she winced at the feeling coming back to her limbs. Wriggling all twenty of her toes and fingers, she ensured they still all had feeling. Miraculously, she did. The numbess still felt vaguely there, and her throat was extremely dry and achy. But at least she was alive. Even if it was back in Winterfell, she could attempt her return to the Motte as soon as the storm died down.
It had been a dreadful blizzard. Not a rare sight in the North, but usually none lasted so long. Aelys could not help but feel it was the Gods punish Cregan and Aelys for their marital spat. Something like this must be so futile and useless in their eyes and the eyes of the people of the realm, but to Aelys it was her world and her life. No one could help Aelys but herself. She'd leave these spoiled halls even if the Old Gods and the New wished otherwise. If Cregan didn't have to keep oaths, why should she?
Opening the large wooden door, Aelys found the source of the faint yelling. Her eyes widened at the sight of her father in front of Cregan, in all his gruff charm with his silver hair and beard. She hadn't seen him in nearly two years. She stayed at the archway under the door, simply listening in as the men shouted further down the hall. If either turned their heads, they would spot her eavesdropping.
"—cannot even keep her safe during Winter! Am I to expect her to stay safe during a wildling attack, or worse? Or will you be prioritizing the safety of your mistress?" Harriston shouted, veins nearly popping out from his forehead and neck in his fury. Snow still gathered on his pelt coat, meaning he had just arrived recently.
"It is my mistake that she was endangered out there—but I would never let such a thing happen again under my protection. This is her home, I cannot allow her to go back to the Dreadfort. She is a Stark." Cregan emphasized, though had a defensive raised tone.
"Was she a Stark when you bed a whore in King's Landing?"
"The situation is more complicated than that." He responded, clenching his jaw.
"Nothing could ever be more complicated than losing your wit at a brothel, Stark. There is no argument to be had. She is staying with her family, where she was intending." Harriston growled out, a tone of finality to his tone. As he swung on his feet to head down the hall, face set in a worried and seething anger, he finally spotted his daughter.
"Aelys!" He yelled in relief, rushing toward her and scooping her up into his thick arms. "We're going home immediately. We will wash our hands of the Starks once and for all."
"I will not allow that." Cregan spoke from behind. As Aelys hugged her father back just as tightly, it was a battle to keep her tears from flowing in his safe arms. She missed her father more than she knew.
Before Harristone could speak, Aelys nodded. "We will settle this." She said flatly. Her father hesitantly let her go, nodding once firmly after seeing the resolve in his daughter's eyes.
"Very well. I will wait in the dining hall for you." He sighed, walking away.
Aelys shivered in the loss of warmth again. In her bare feet and night gown, she felt the cold of the cobblestone walls and floors start to seep under her skin again. "Here," Cregan murmured, gently shifting his mass of brown wolf pelt over her shoulders and clicking the direwolf emblem into place.
She allowed it, though she did not thank him with words. She took a deep breath, looking him in the eyes. "I want to separate. Divorce, I mean." She said tiredly.
Cregan flinched, jaw ticking and heavily considering her words. "That is entirely my fault. It is in your right to ask that of me." He said, voice dimmed and not nearly half of his assuredness. "But please, hear me out."
"What could I possibly hear you out with?" She asked, exhaustion clear in her tone. She'd dealt with this situation long enough.
Cregan nudged the door back open, nodding for her to enter. Reluctantly, she led the way in and watched as he gently shut it behind them. "I swore an oath, nearly nine moons ago." Cregan started.
Her brows furrowed, bemused. "To whom?"
Guiltily, he looked down at her, looking much alike to a kicked pup. "My sister."
"To Sara? What ever for?" She grew frustrated, knowing he was beating around the bush.
Taking a deep breath, he told her everything. "Sara stayed with her friend Alysanne Blackwood in Raventree hall for the entire time I was aiding King Aegon. In that time—she fell pregnant."
Aelys' heart dropped to her stomach. The same sick feeling overtaking her. She did not say a word.
"Davos Blackwood and Sara had built a bond, much like we did." He said. "When she told Davos of the news, they both went to Lord Blackwood to plea to marry each other. He refused, not allowing his heir to marry a bastard."
"And you legitimized Brandon as your own in turn?" She hissed.
"Sara begged me to. She lived her life as a bastard—she did not wish the same for her own son. I swore to her that my nephew would never be allowed the same treatment. I knew Aegon would do it." He trailed.
"So you bring him home, and humiliate me instead? You didn't even tell me, your own wife! You chose Sara over me. She is your sister, I know, but she chose to be with Davos Blackwood." She could have taken a tea, or moved to Essos or Dorne where bastards were more accepted. There were other options, but neither Sara nor Cregan used them. "That is cruel, Cregan. It is heartless." She cried.
"I never wished to hurt you, I only wanted to protect her. It was my oath." Cregan pleaded, grabbing her hands in his.
She shivered again, though unknowing if it was in chill or her own anger. Part of her was happy that he never truly took another woman to bed—never picked another other her. Though he still hid the biggest secret in the world from her for moons. Allowed her to suffer in their shared home and withstand the pitious looks of the people and court.
"I can't trust you. Not ever again. You could not trust me with your own kin's truth, and punished me for it." She stated. She could not allow herself to cave in so easily, to fall back into his arms.
"I understand, sweet girl." He muttered, softly stroking the apple of her cheek almost mindlessly. "I will sign whatever the Maester's conjure up. You will be free to marry whoever you wish—someone who will not lie to you."
The Starks were known for their loyalty and devotedness to their oaths. If Cregan Stark had lied to his wife so easily, no lesser man could ever make her happy with faithfulness and loyalty. Aelys had accepted her life to be one of loneliness from the day Brandon was allowed into the home.
"I will stay in Deepwood Motte for the time being. From there, I will see where my path leads." She said vaguely, unknowing now of what her heart desired. "Wish Sara well for me." Aelys asked of him, leaving him behind as she wiped any straying tears from her face.
"I love you, Aelys." He said, calling softly after her.
"I know." She whispered to herself.
In the dining hall, Harriston awaited her arrival. Perking up when she entered, he knowingly took her into his arms. "I'm tired, father."
"Let's go home. Your mother has missed you dearly." He said, planting a fatherly kiss to her temple.
Aelys would not yet send word for a formal separation to the Citadel or to the King. For now, time apart was what she declared best for herself.

ending is ambiguous. Will she decide to divorce or eventually mend their relationship? Up to you!
might make an alt ending where he really is just a shitty guy but this had been my idea from the start (many guessed it and i could not reply to them because of it lmao)
sorry if those two scenes got repetitive, but I wanted to show the 'cregan bringing brandon home' from both of their more detailed perspectives. Cregan's shame and guilt and her humiliation and heartbreak.
so many people guessed so close (to the sara part at least) only saw Jace thoughts tho, but he's already dead long before Cregan's walk down to the South. Would have been much more dramatic, but I think Jace would never allow a child of his to be apart from him. Many people swayed me to lead them to separate instead of stick together, and it does make more sense to have her leave him in the end. Although he did not cheat he still lied and publicly humiliated her, even unintentionally, but he's a grown man who is smart enough to know consequences.

Analysis of each character's final words in the new Dark Urge evil ending
If you are romanced to a character, you have the option, when taking the new version of the Sins of the Father ending, to kill your partner in front of the others in your party, killing them with one last kiss. They then give their last words and pass away. I love each and every one and feel they are incredible characterization moments.
So let's break these down!
Lae'zel:
I... I am glad it was you. No other blade would have sufficed.
This is something that hammers home that, Vlaakith or no, Lae'zel deeply believes in all the ideals of a Githyanki. Life is a privilege for the strong, and death is the price of weakness. Further, if romanced, Lae'zel will affectionately call you "the source of my bruises" many times. If she has to die, if she has finally found the one person stronger than herself, then she is "satisfied" that it is you- who she both loved and admired. The only one she would ever consider worthy of besting her.
Karlach:
Fuck you.
Short, simple, and to the point, just the way Karlach does everything else. She's already gone through all her stages of grief with her engine- well, almost all of them. Anger still remains. She burns hot until the end.
Wyll:
I... I forgive you.
This isn't just Wyll being a good guy. This is heartbreak, and guilt. Guilt for not saving you from Bhaal's influence when he was so sure he had. Heartbreak that after he gave his literal soul to save as many people as he could, he couldn't save you- and couldn't save others from you, either. All he sacrificed, negated in an instant by the person he loved and trusted most. Of all the characters here, Wyll (tied with Halsin) sounds the most obviously broken, and it's easy to see why, given that he is self-sacrificing to a fault.
There was a set of scenes datamined from the game, where at the Morphic Pool, the Netherbrain would have taunted the players, causing them to hallucinate things related to their fears and insecurities. Wyll's would have been a vision of himself talking about how he was never a hero, how the Blade of Frontiers was a farce all along. One can't help but think about that scene here, wondering just how much blame, bordering on self-loathing, he might feel here.
Dark Justiciar Shadowheart:
I... I'm coming to you, Lady Shar.
Another short and simple one. By becoming a Dark Justiciar, Shadowheart has fully embraced the nihilism of Shar's teachings. Why be saddened or angry at her own death when this is just what she's embraced with all her sacrifices?
(Sidenote: this does also answer a question I had, namely, what was going to happen to everyone Durge kills. Thankfully it seems they aren't actually going to be sacrificed to him as such, and will indeed end up in the realm of their deities. This makes Bhaal's plan even DUMBER, because deities in DND lore need worshippers to have enough power to exist. Killing everyone at once just guarantees that soon after Durge dies as the last person alive, so too will Bhaal fade from existence.)
Selunite Shadowheart:
I... I thought we were going to save each other...
This Shadowheart rejected everything she knew. She was scared to defy her goddess, but worked up the courage- thanks to you. She thought you would have a new life together. She believed in you. She thought she would get to return the favor, and help you turn the page on Bhaal, too.
She's not just heartbroken for herself; she's heartbroken for you, too. Heartbroken at the life you denied both her and yourself.
Gale:
You made me want to live...
From the moment the orb entered Gale's chest, he knew he was at risk of dying. Then Mystra all but marked him as a dead man walking. But despite that, he finds love with you- and for the first time thinks maybe there is a purpose for him beyond Mystra. That he isn't more useful to the world dead. More than that, he wants to live to be with you, to enjoy your company and companionship. And then you kill him, and do the one thing WORSE than what would have happened if he'd never been pulled from that rock.
It almost would have been kinder to just hack his hand off the first time you met him, though Gale may or may not agree.
Spawn Astarion:
I should have killed you when I had the chance...
The angriest, most bitter response out of all the romanced companions, a step beyond Karlach's "fuck you." This is beyond "fuck you" and even beyond "I hate you." It's "I regret every moment I spent with you." You made him believe he could have better. That he could recover from what Cazador did. You even convinced him to spare the 7,000 spawn and that he could be something better than Cazador.
And now you reveal it was all a lie. Astarion is probably thinking that you talked him out of completing the ritual solely so he'd be easier to kill right here and now. How many regrets are flashing through his mind, how many moments where he wonders if things could have been different if only he'd done this or that, even aside from killing you?
All he wanted was to live as a free person. And then the first time he thinks he has that at last, he loses it as the world ends.
Ascended Astarion:
No... no, this can't be... I can't- you can't- no...
In contrast to spawn Astarion, ascended isn't angry, because he doesn't have the clarity, the ability to process what's happening. Spawn Astarion could tell he'd been betrayed.
But Ascended? Ascended, who went through so much to become one of the most powerful beings in the world, only to STILL lose without fanfare? And by you, his own spawn who he thought he had under his control? It isn't betrayal, because he is bluescreening; he can't comprehend what happened or how or why. How could he have been killed, and by you of all people? Was all he went through killing Cazador really for nothing? How could it be when he was supposed to be the most powerful? Was power actually meaningless all along?
He doesn't say anything of substance because he can't understand what's happening here.
Halsin:
Thaniel... goodbye...
Halsin is the oldest of all the companions. He's experienced the most loss of anyone; his birth family, his fellow Druids, and, for a time, Thaniel. He has had more than enough time to contemplate his own mortality, because he's already lived multiple lifetimes.
So here, two things are happening. One, he isn't expressing anger or betrayal at his murder- because he is more than wise enough, and humble enough, to understand that there are worse things than what has been done to himself. Instead of himself, he is thinking of the world he's leaving behind that is about to fall- and most of all, of his most important person, the one who gave him a purpose, who was there when no one else was, who he failed once and only just got back. The closest thing to a child he'll ever have. In his last moments, instead of himself, Halsin is thinking of those he loves.
And second, it's an almost deliberate snubbing of Durge. He willingly walked into that kiss, knowing full well it would be the last thing he ever did. He gave you his death, he pleaded with his own god to forgive you and him both. He gave you everything he felt he owed you, and no more- no begging or sobbing. Instead, he comes as close as he ever gets to selfishness, and spends his last moments thinking about the thing that makes him the happiest- which could have been you, in another life, if you hadn't done this.
Minthara:
No... we were meant to do this together...
Heartbreak, disbelief, and betrayal. You spent so many nights planning this out. She had been cast aside by her people, her goddess, and she was going to get the last laugh. She was going to crush them personally under her heel and prove she was the best (or second best, behind you) of all of them. She's devastated she won't get to help you torture all those souls and take what she feels was owed to her. But interestingly enough... no anger. Probably because it was overshadowed by the sheer heartbreak, but also a sign that even in those moments, she still admires you for your ruthlessness.

Love Warning (Hirai Momo x M!Reader)
A bit longer, a little more story with smut at the end to wrap it up.
Word Count: 5,428

"Y/N you can't be serious! Do you know how much I pay you?!"
"Momo it isn't about the money."
You were Momo's secretary ... well not for much longer. You decided you wanted to do more with your life and get a different job. You weren't leaving because your new job would pay more but because it was something you were generally interested in. Being a secretary behind a desk all day every day just wasn't your type of life style.
When you came to that realization you submitted your 2 week notice to Momo and that's what led you to this situation.
"Come on Y/N just name your price and I'll get it for you. Just please don't leave the company you're the best secretary I've had."
"Its not about that. I'm just so tired of spending my life behind a desk looking at the computer."
Momo grabbed your shoulders and looked you dead in the eye. "Y/N please I can't lose you. I don't think I'll ever find someone with half of the expertise that you have."
A soft sigh left you. You fully understood the company was pretty much being carried by you and it would likely see a loss of income if you left but didn't want this to be the reason that you continue to live a boring life.
"My decision is final Momo. I won't change my mind, please understand my decision." You pushed Momo's hands off of your shoulder and left her office.
As soon as you closed the door Momo clenched her fist. "You filthy swine Y/N! After everything I've done for you this is how you repay me? I helped you pay off your student loans, helped you find your first house, I even extended your deadlines which made all the investors yell at me. You won't be leaving the company."
The following day
You walked into work just like any day. You wanted to avoid talking to Momo as much as possible. It's not that you didn't want to see her its just that you didn't want to have any more unnecessary arguing between you two.
"Y/N it's good to see you. How have you been?" Your coworker Han Ji-sung greeted you. It was strange though. Usually Han is someone who keeps to himself. Usually he doesn't interact with you or anyone for that matter so why was he suddenly being talkative towards you?
"I'm fine Han and you?"
"I've been doing well Y/N. I've finally decided to start talking to others instead of being locked inside my cubicle all day."
"Really? I'm glad to hear that."
"Want to grab a snack in the break room with me before you get to work?"
"Sure why not. I skipped breakfast this morning so I could go for a quick snack."
You walked with Han into the break room only to realize it was different from the last time you saw it. Now there were a variety of things in there from vending machines, arcade games, a TV, consoles, and even a variety of board games. "Since when did this room get a renovation?"
"Didn't you hear? Momo actually went ahead and renovated the break room after we all left. It must've cost her a lot of money huh?"
"Momo did all of this?" To say you were a bit shocked would be an understatement. You weren't dumb you knew that she likely did all of this to encourage you to stay but you didn't know she would go this far.
"Honestly I'm glad to know that our boss actually cares about our well being. I always felt like she gave off cold vibes but I'm glad I was proven wrong."
"She probably doesn't care much for you, she's likely just doing this to convince me to stay." You thought to yourself. You didn't have the heart to tell Han that Momo likely wasn't doing this out of the kindness of her own heart.
"Yeah ... she really is a great boss huh?"
"Are those my two favorite employees Han and Y/N? It's so nice to see you two here." Momo went up to the both of you and put one of her hands on Han's shoulder and the other on yours.
"Han go ahead and go home today you deserve it."
"A-are you sure Mrs. Hirai?"
"Of course now go ahead and go home."
You waited for Han to leave before you spoke up. "Momo isn't this a bit too much?"
"Mhm? What do you mean Y/N?"
"Don't act dumb. I know you did this to try to keep me here."
"Y/N this isn't about you. I did this cause I thought that the break room could use a renovation."
"H-have you been sleeping?" You noticed Momo sounded tired. You could tell she was acting energetic. Was she really neglecting sleep over you leaving?
"What? Of course I have! What kind of question is that?!"
You let out a sigh filled with concern "Momo I understand you want me to stay but still you shouldn't be doing this to yourself."
She let out a soft chuckle "I already told you it isn't about that. I respect your decision. I'll be in my office if you need me."
What should you say? Should you stop her? "No there's always the chance I'm wrong. Her business doesn't involve me." is what you thought to yourself but you couldn't shake a nagging feeling in your head. You had a feeling you'd find out what it is sooner rather than later.
-
That Night
You were supposed to have clocked out an hour and a half ago. But here you were hiding under your desk waiting for everyone to leave. You wanted proof, you had to see it with your own eyes. Was Momo really neglecting sleep?
The last employee Yu Jimin (Karina) left and you peaked over your desk.
"She's the last one. Now I'm alone, what could convince Y/N to stay? Ah I know but I need to start now or else I won't finish in time."
Momo grabbed her keys for her car and left the office.
"Sh-shes really doing this to keep me around. Shit this is bad I have to make a choice where neither option is good I either stay and continue doing a job I hate for the rest of my life or I leave. But I can't stand watching this. She is probably stressed out because of me so leaving isn't an option but neither is staying here!"
Unsure what to do you stayed around and waited for Momo to return. "Shit, shit, shit what do I do? Why are you stubborn Momo just give up on me I'm not worth it."
After waiting a while you finally heard the doors open.
"What are in the bags she's carrying?"
"Fuck I got lost in the store. I need to get started now."
Momo rushed into the office and started to get what she bought out of the bags. It was ... decorations?
She went around and decorated the office to make it look nice. "But what could possibly be the occasion?" You questioned yourself. You couldn't do anything but watch as your boss ran around putting up decorations.
As much as it pained you seeing your boss run around even though she was clearly tired you were also getting tired. "No not now." you thought to yourself. But it didn't last long eventually your tiredness got the best of you and you fell asleep.
-
Morning
Momo finished decorating the office. She never noticed you hiding under your desk likely due to her exhaustion. You woke up sitting on the cold floor cramped under your desk.
"Ouch I'm never sleeping on the floor again."
You picked yourself up and looked around. You quickly noticed the decorations in your office and decided to check the time. It was still before opening hours. You started to wonder where Momo was in all of this and how she didn't find you when she was decorating your office.
But did you really have time to ponder that? Shouldn't you try to leave before Momo catches you in the building?
As if right in queue Momo walked in the building carrying bags. "Hopefully they should stay warm until Y/N gets here. If not I hope he's okay with reheated food."
"She brought food? But why?" Many questions raced through your head and you considered if you should confront her about this. "Should I confront her? No if I try to confront her now she'll likely be more defensive. If I want to get a real answer from her I'm going to have to do it at the right moment but when would be a good moment for me to get her to tell me the truth." For you this was beyond trying to keep you in the company. Momo must have ulterior motives for trying to keep you around. "Even if she thinks I'm a good employee worth keeping around she wouldn't go to this length to get me to stay so what is it?"
"Maybe I should try to get her to come out and drink with me. But if I do it suddenly she might get suspicious. Ah I got it I'll do it on my last day here at work and will just use the fact that it's my last day as an excuse."
You finally had a plan in mind to get the "truth" from Momo. Now you just had to keep hiding until your shift started so you could "suddenly" show up.
Momo was walking by putting in the finishing touches but suddenly your stomach growled. Since you skipped dinner by staying in the office and hadn't had breakfast you were hungry and your stomach was trying to tell you that but it unintentionally alerted Momo that someone was in the office building. "Is someone there?"
You tried to think of something to do but it was too late she was already heading towards your location. You did the only thing you could think of and that was to pretend you were still asleep.
"Y/N?!"
She found you sitting under your desk.
"Guess he must've fell asleep. But why did he choose to sleep under his desk?" She had many questions but didn't want to disturb you. "Come on Y/N let me put you on the couch." Momo picked you up and carried you to the break room.
But you did notice something while she was carrying you. It was almost as if your heart was speeding up when she laid her hands on you. You also noticed her smell, she smelled perfect. You wanted to be able to smell her scent all day long and were a bit sad when she finally laid you down on the couch in the break room.
"I should've gotten a blanket for the break room" Momo thought to herself. She decided on taking off her jacket and used it to cover you in order to keep you warm.
Momo got a good look at you "Ugh Y/N why do you have to be so ... wait he's sleeping and no one is around so before he wakes up I could ... no wait what am I thinking?! I shouldn't think this!"
She ran out of the break room and that was your queue to "wake up."
Before you got up you took a moment to compose yourself. Your heart was still beating fast from when she carried you to the break room. "All she did was carry me so why is my heart beating fast?"
After a few minutes you were able to compose yourself and left the break room. It was 20 minutes before the office opened.
You didn't see Momo anywhere so you decided to check her office. As you made your way to the office you noticed how the building was decorated. She must've put in a lot of effort while you were sleeping. Honestly you were surprised she did all of this on her own.
Walking up to her door took a deep breath and lightly knocked on her door. "Y/N is that you? Come in."
Opening the door you saw Momo behind her desk working. "I see you finally woke up. Were you crunching numbers too hard yesterday and decided to take a nap under your desk?" You weren't expecting her to have the current demeanor she had but decided to go along with it.
"Yeah I guess I was overworking myself. It didn't help that I stayed up until 1am the night before."
"Geeze Y/N you tell me to get better sleep when I think you should be focusing on yourself."
"Actually I saw the building was decorated did you-"
"No it wasn't me. I actually hired people to come and decorate it."
"You're lying." You thought to yourself.
"What's the occasion?"
"Well today is Karina's birthday. I think it would be a nice change if from now on the building was decorated for peoples birthdays."
"Oh really? Well that's nice but what event should we hold to celebrate?"
"Event?"
"Well yeah, Are you a boring person? I bet you're the type of person that held the most boring parties during college."
"That's not true Y/N! I am a fun person to be around!"
"Prove it to me then."
"How do you want me to prove it to you?"
"Mhm ... How about we go to the bar on my last day. It'll be my treat."
"Fine, I'll show you just how fun of a person I can be Y/N."
"Well I'll see you then Momo."
"Y/N wait do you want to get breakfast with me?"
"Breakfast?"
"Since it'll be a few more minutes before work starts I thought it'd be a nice gesture."
Before you could answer your stomach growled and Momo took that as a yes before you said so. She grabbed your hand "Alright let's go!"
There it was again the butterflies you felt. As Momo was leading you somewhere you were stuck looking at her face, her warm soft hand was wrapped around yours and you were hoping she wouldn't let go.
-
"We're here Y/N. Let's eat inside!" She let go of your hand which made you a little upset inside.
"Welcome, What would you two like to order?"
-
Both of you were seated at a table waiting for your food. Momo was looking around the area and decided to look at the ceiling.
"Y/N look we're under a mistletoe! Should we kiss?"
"I - I - uhm..." Your face was turning red. You looked up and confirmed that you both were sitting under a mistletoe. You knew she said it in a joking manner and likely wasn't being serious but a part of you was hoping she was being serious.
Momo was leaning forward slowly. You noticed and also started to lean forward.
Before your lips could meet the waiter came to deliver the breakfast you both ordered.
They set your food on the table and smiled "I'm sorry am I interrupting something?"
That was enough to snap both you and Momo back into your current situation which caused both of you to jump back on your seats.
"No wait it isn't what it looks like!" Momo exclaimed.
"Don't worry couples come here to share romantic moments all the time."
Unsure of whether you should correct them you looked at Momo to see if she would take the initiative to do but she gave you the same look.
"Well if that's all I'll leave you both to it."
"Y - Y/N I'm sorry I got carried away."
"No I don't mind."
Eating in silence you were waiting to see if Momo would break the silence or if maybe you should.
"Uhm anyways Y/N ... how would you suggest I dress for when we go out drinking?"
"Just anything you want."
"So just whatever I find comfortable?"
"Yeah, It's supposed to be a relaxing event for us so just whatever you want to wear will work."
After finishing breakfast you both returned to the office.
-
5 days until Y/N's last day
You wanted to talk about one of your coworkers to see if anyone else has noticed Momo's change in behavior.
"Mina sorry to bother you while your on break but do you have a minute?"
Myoui Mina was the one directly below you. She was also the person who'd most likely replace you once you left.
She put her phone in her pocket before looking up at you "Go ahead Y/N what's up?"
"Have you noticed Momo's behavior change in the past week or so?"
"Yeah I thought that much was obvious."
"W-wait you knew and you haven't done anything about it?"
"Y/N our job is to sit behind the computer and type some numbers in every now and then. It's better not to get involved in things that don't relate directly to us. You might find something you don't like."
"What are you saying?! Momo could be going through some hard times and you're okay with doing nothing?"
"Even she's replaceable."
"You piece of-"
"Calm down Y/N everything is going to be fine."
"And I'm assuming you know more than you're letting on."
"Of course, but you already know you won't get that information out of me."
"Pft ... bitch."
"Y/N if I may ask why do you care so much? After all your leaving in five days, whether or not this company burns to the ground shouldn't be of any concern to you."
"I - I just care alright? It's basic human sympathy."
"No it's not that. You have never been that type of person. Wait don't tell me you have a little crush on our boss don't you Y/N?"
"What?! No I don't!"
Mina smiled at you. She walked up to you and you started taking steps back until you hit the wall. Her arms trapped you against it and you felt her breath hit your neck.
"Let me give you a piece of advice Y/N. Give up or you might regret what you find."
"What are you-"
In a swift motion Mina kissed your lips briefly. They were soft and moist but as quickly as they came they left.
"If you insist on pursuing what you're doing even after my warning then get used to listening and obeying. She doesn't like the defiant type."
"She? Mina what are you-"
"Sorry Y/N but I'm on the clock again. Consider my kiss a "good luck" charm."
Mina left the break room and went back to her office and you were still against the wall in shock from the events that had just transpired.
"Y/N did you just see a ghost or what?"
"Huh?! Karina when did you get in here?"
You were so caught up in your thoughts you didn't realize Karina walked in the break room.
"You didn't notice me? Now I'm really wondering what's been on your mind."
"What do you know about Mina?"
"Oh I see what's happening here."
"You do?"
"You have a crush on Mina and you blew it just now."
"No you have it all wrong!"
"That's why Mina left looking like that. She was probably pissed off at your lackluster attempt of a pickup line. Don't worry Y/N since I'm such a good co-worker I'll teach you what to do so you can get a date with her."
"Would you look at the time I should actually get going."
"Nuh uh Y/N your staying with me."
Karina proceeded to grab your shoulders and kept you occupied for the rest of your break.
-
Day 0
You were at your house getting ready for the night with Momo. You dressed in what you thought was a nice mix casual and somewhat professional.
Heading out to the bar you were hoping that Momo would open up about what's been troubling her in a more casual setting. If anything else her getting drunk should get her to be more honest.
Finally you arrived and called Momo "Hey I'm here where are you?"
"I'll be there in a bit, just hang on tight for me Y/N."
You let out a sigh and decided to go ahead and go inside. Picking a table in the corner you waited for her to arrive and you didn't have to wait long.
Momo finally arrived but you were a bit surprised by her choice of clothing. From the hat, to the jeans, the jacket, and the tie that covered her cleavage it was all very expressive of her body. Something that you never thought you would catch your boss in.
"Ah there you are Y/N."
She sat down next to you and you had to use every ounce of will power to avoid looking at her chest.
"Y/N I really hoped you would have changed your mind by now but you haven't."
"Mhm yeah sorry but my decision is final."
You noticed something in her eyes once you said that. Almost as if what you said triggered something in her.
"Well besides that let's celebrate you, tonight goes to a better future for you Y/N!"
"Let's go ahead and order our drinks."
-
She has a better alcohol tolerance than you thought. Every time you tried to change the conversation she changed it right back to whatever you were talking about before.
You knew she was still sober enough and you felt like you couldn't drink anymore before you started to get seriously drunk and forget why you invited her out to begin with.
"Are you done Y/N? Do you want to call it a night?"
"No I'm not done yet. I'll get myself another drink."
"I'm not making this night go to waste!"
As you sipped down another glass you started feeling dizzy. But when you looked at Momo you realized she was also starting to feel side effects from the alcohol.
"Hey anyways Momo why don't you want me to leave so badly?" You had to ask now or else you would risk letting yourself get wasted.
"Because I said so!"
"Oh so she's that type of drunk." you thought to yourself.
"I bet I can drink more than you Momo."
"No you cannot Y/N and I'll prove it!"
She grabbed another glass and drank it completely in a few seconds. To see just how drunk she was you wondered if you could hand her one of your glasses and get her to drink it.
Without hesitation she grabbed the glass you handed her and downed it.
"Give me more Y/N I'll drink it!"
"Don't you think you've had enough?"
"No now give me more!"
Momo was starting make a scene so you decided to get her to out of their. "Yah where do you think you're taking me I wasn't done!"
Ignoring her yelling you paid the bill and dragged her out of the building despite her protest.
"Where do you live Momo I'm taking you home."
"I'm not telling! Bring me back to the bar I wasn't finished."
You sighed and figured you'd have to bring her back to your place instead.
The usual small walk to your home felt more like half an hour. "Y/N let me go!" Momo repeated all the way back to your home.
Finally you arrived back home while holding her arm. "Can you calm down?!"
"Nooooo Y/NNN I'm not calming dowwnn!"
"Can ask you something Momo?"
"Not until you get me my drink!"
You sighed and got the bottle of alcohol you had. Getting it out and pouring her a shot and handing it to her. "Now can I ask questions?"
She took a sip before answering you "Fine Y/N-ie just cause you gave me this."
"Cause I looovve you Y/N. Do you know how annoying it is to try to convince your favorite employee that you have a crush on to stay only for them to end up leaving?!"
"You have a crush on me?"
"Of course Y/N but I don't think I'll ever tell you though."
You were shocked. Your boss was in love with you this whole time? "Momo I don't know what to say."
Out of the blue Momo got up and made her way to you. "You know how fucking annoying it is to go and do so much and not have it pay off Y/N?"
"Momo I-"
Before you were able to finish talking she used her finger to squeeze your cheeks. "I don't remember giving you permission to speak Y/N. I don't like the defiant type."
As she spoke those words a memory came back to your mind.
"If you insist on pursuing what you're doing even after my warning then get used to listening and obeying. She doesn't like the defiant type."
Quickly you shut your mouth not daring to speak.
Momo saw what you did and chuckled.
"Did Mina tell you that you should obey me?"
"H-how did you know?"
"How about I show you instead of telling you?"
She quickly shoved you to the floor before you could process her words. A loud "thud" sound echoed through your house and you started to feel pain.
"Ouch!"
Momo took off her top and tie but left her jacket on. Her breasts were now fully exposed for you to see.
"I would let you play with these but since you're no longer my employee then I guess I can't let you." She said this with a grin on her face. Playing with herself and the only thing she let you do was watch.
Momo could see your eagerness to touch her in your eyes. "P-please?"
"Is my baby that desperate to touch a girl's breast? But I thought you said your decision was final or did you change your mind?"
"I changed my mind! Please Momo I can't take the teasing."
"Your erection is growing baby. Want help with that."
"Yes!"
"Hm no. Well at least not on your terms."
Momo was having a power trip. Flaunting her big breasts in front of you and not letting you get the relief you wanted. She laid on you, her breast were being pressed up against you and she started kissing your neck.
"Tomorrow let everyone know who owns you."
"But I have to go shopping tomorrow I don't want everyone to know-"
She grabbed your throat and squeezed it making you unable to breathe. "Disobey me one more time without permission and I'll make you fucking regret it Y/N. Do you understand?"
Tears fell down your eyes and you felt yourself losing consciousness. "Yes I understand please let me breathe!"
"Good now, regarding your statement, I don't care. Let everyone in public know what happened today."
She continued marking you and she didn't stop until your whole face was covered with hickeys.
"Any statements you want to get out before I continue Y/N?"
A little confused on why she was suddenly allowing you to ask a question you asked the first question you could think of "Why are you still wearing the hat and jacket?".
"I like this hat. And the jacket excites me. It makes me feel like we're in my office and I'm fucking you. Obviously I wouldn't dare to actually do it there but it adds to the role-play I guess. By the way want anything else? Maybe a drink or a snack?"
"N-no I'm fine Momo."
Although she was clearly in control over you she still took the time to make sure you weren't in total misery. She still cared about your well-being and a part of you felt slightly relieved that even in an intoxicated state she would still consider your feelings.
Momo took off her pants revealing that she wasn't wearing anything underneath. "Finger me." Not one to question her authority you put 2 fingers in and went at a moderate pace so not to discomfort her.
"Mhm so obedient Y/N but slow down the pace a little bit it feels uncomfortable."
You listened to her and slowed your thrust into her pussy. "Yeah just like that Y/N keep that pace for me."
She pulled off your pants and underwear then proceeded to slowly move her hand along your hardening cock.
Her fingers were so soft yet they ignited something in you. Your sensitive cock was hardening with the feeling of her precious hands running along your cock.
"Speed up your pace and I'll pump your cock faster."
Wanting to release your cum you thrusted your fingers into her wet pussy. Keeping her word she pumped your cock faster as your speed increased.
Momo started playing with her nipples and moans came out of her. "Ugh ~ Ah" Twisting and turning her body from the feelings she was getting you were also getting harder from the feeling of her weight shifting on you. "I can't believe I am fingering my boss while watching her play with herself on top of me!"
"I'm cumming!" Your boss released her cum all over you. Her fluids stained the shirt and fingers and shortly after your semen ejaculated from your cock.
Momo moved, now she was sitting on your face "Lick my pussy while I'm still sensitive!"
You inserted your tongue into her pussy and you licked all around her insides. You got a little daring and tried to grab her breasts.
Out of nowhere she grabbed your wrists all of a sudden.
"You piece of shit. Did I allow you to touch me?"
Fear filled your body and you were unable to move. The room was silent for what felt like hours but was only a few seconds.
"Speak to me you fucking bitch!"
"No you didn't!" Your voice was shaky. Momo could hear the fear that was in your voice.
"Left or right?"
"Right?"
Momo let go of your right wrist and twisted your left wrist so hard until it broke.
"Ow fuck!"
"Maybe this will make you learn your lesson. Now lick my pussy."
Not wanting to lose your other wrist you licked her pussy like your life depended on it. Tears fell down your face from the pain you felt.
Moans fell out of Momo's mouth not caring about whatever pain you could be in. After a few minutes her juices flowed out of her pussy and went in your mouth.
The stream lasted so long you were choking on her cum. Eventually you were able to cough up her cum and avoided death by Momo's cum.
"You taste amazing boss." you said while panting.
She got off your face and kissed you. Taking in her own fluids with her tongue, you were able to taste the sweat dripping off of Momo's face.
Momo got off you and laid on the floor before she went to sleep.
Being too tired you slept on the floor with Momo by your side.
-
You were woken up by a loud scream.
"Y/N what happened?!"
Being too tired to respond you just stayed silent.
Momo started to piece together what happened as she saw her breasts and your cock out along with her mouth tasting like alcohol.
"Oh Y/N I'm so sorry I don't know what came over me!"
"Can you drive me to a hospital? My wrist still hurts after you broke it."
"I broke your wrist?!"
-
You and Momo arrived back at work shortly after your hospital visit. She insisted you don't work due to your broken wrist and with your face being covered in hickeys but you felt guilty for making her drink with you.
As you were walking to your office you heard someone call your name. "Long time no see Y/N."
Turning around you saw Mina
"Momo convince you to stay?"
She ignored the hickeyes all over your face but you weren't about to bring them up.
"Y-yeah."
"Was part of convincing you breaking your wrist?"
"You could say that."
Mina strutted towards you going next to your ear "It's not fair Momo got her turn with you. She won't mind if I share you with her so come to my office during your break Y/N."
Giving you a peck on your cheek before she walked away. She left you standing in the hallway.
"Wait how does she know so much about Momo?"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was actually supposed to be a shorter smut (2,000-ish words) but I got carried away with the story which caused me to delay it.
Not sure if anyone caught it so I'll say it. In the beginning Y/N said "I'm never sleeping on the floor again" but ended up sleeping on the floor again. I just thought it was funny.
-
Unfortunately this wasn't a 20 chapter series. (I really wanted it to, but there's no way I would fit smut in every chapter.)

short stories from life. [masterlist]
The patrols had been called off due to the blizzard. Joel and a few other men were securing the stables and then they were going to tackle the interior of another house. Ellie and Dina didn't feel like spending time with you, which you understood perfectly, so you bundled up and went to Ann's house. The Christmas lights were shining in her windows, Ann had an uncanny ability to create a wonderful homely atmosphere and you knew that spending time there would definitely help you.
“I can’t believe how fast he’s growing,” you said, looking at Elijah who was sitting in his playpen, busy with his toys.
“I just need to blink and he’ll grow up a little.” Ann laughed, placing a cup of tea in front of you. “Joel brought in the wooden blocks he made for him yesterday. I didn’t know he could do things like that! Are you sure you don’t want some coffee?”
“No, thank you.” You replied. “I haven’t been able to drink it or even smell it lately.”
Ann handed you a piece of cake, smiling as if she remembered something really funny. “I remember Shane making me coffee once. I got sick and threw up in the kitchen sink. Then it turned out to be Elijah’s fault. Right, honey?” she cooed at the boy, and he squealed as if he understood her.
But his mother's face suddenly turned serious, her eyes widening as she looked at you. Your name fell from her lips in a whisper. "Can you be..." she began.
You couldn't answer. The thought had been circling your mind for almost two weeks. You hadn't talked about it with anyone, but deep down you were glad that it was your friend who asked the question you were afraid of.
"I don't know." You answered quietly, gripping the hot mug tighter in your hands. "I... I have no idea."
Ann sat on the edge of the couch, leaning toward you. “But you can be? How late are you?”
“Six weeks, almost seven.”
Ann’s face gave way to a ghost of a smile, but then she turned serious again. “Did you take a test?” You shook your head. “Joel knows?”
“I didn’t tell him.” You looked down, feeling a knot in your stomach. “I don’t want to give him hope…”
“Hope?” Ann’s mouth dropped open in surprise. “You tried for that baby!”
You put the cup on the table and hid your face in your hands, sighing deeply. You wanted to tell Joel everything. You hated keeping secrets from him, but at the same time you were afraid that it might be a false alarm. You had been feeling uneasy for a few weeks now, but you kept it to yourself.
"I'm scared." You finally said, giving vent to what had been sitting in your chest for so long. "After what happened last time, I'm scared..." You looked at Ann, tears glistening in her eyes. You finally stopped defending yourself. A few tears rolled down your cheeks. "What if this all happens again? My heart would break if..."
“Don’t think like that.” Ann cut you off and quickly stood up, then sat down next to you. “You both deserve to be happy. You should take a test and tell Joel. Do you have one?”
You nodded, wiping your cheek. “I found it at the pharmacy on my last patrol.”
“Don’t tell Joel that.” Ann grabbed your hand, smiling. “If Joel finds out you suspected you were pregnant and were on patrol…”
You both giggled. A weight lifted from your heart and you felt a little better. This conversation didn’t solve all your worries, but you already knew you weren’t alone in this. And that was comforting.
The soft whistle of the kettle echoed through the kitchen. Joel poured boiling water into the mugs, then picked them up and slowly walked up the stairs. It was still early, and you had plenty of time before you had to take care of your duties. You could spend this time lounging in your warm bed and lazily cuddling—Joel really liked that. Time just for the two of you, time to pretend the world hadn’t ended at all, and everything was as it could be.
He set the cups down by the empty bed and noticed that the light was still coming from under the bathroom door. Nothing else. No sound, no morning bustle, no running water. That worried Joel a little. He walked quietly to the door.
“Sweetheart?” he knocked. “Are you okay? I made you some tea.”
Silence. Joel frowned, feeling a growing unease in his chest. He ran a hand through his already disheveled hair and knocked again.
“You’re worrying me, sweetheart. Can I come in?”
You didn't say anything. Joel put his hand on the doorknob and the door opened without a problem. He carefully entered and immediately saw you sitting on the edge of the tub. Something was wrong. Joel swallowed.
"Something wrong?" he asked "Baby, talk to me, please..."
You looked up at him with barely visible eyes, tears glistening in them. "Joel..." your voice broke.
You couldn't speak. You held out the long, white object to him, and Joel, slightly confused, took it in his hand. It took him a few seconds to realize what he was looking at. Two distinct lines could only mean one thing.
"Baby..." he sighed, looking at you in a way he had never done before. "Really?"
You nodded, feeling tears streaming down your cheeks again. "I'm almost 7 weeks late. I don't feel nauseous, but my breasts are sore, and the smell of coffee is irritating... Yeah, I think we did it, Joel."
You looked at each other for a moment. Neither of you knew what to say, the moment had swallowed you like a bubble and you were completely stunned. Finally, it was Joel who made the first move, placing the test on the sink and reaching for you. You took his hand and stood up, snuggling up to him. He was warm, smelling like home. He buried his face in the crook of your neck, breathing in your scent, feeling your heartbeat and at the same time feeling like his legs were made of cotton.
"Are you happy?" you gasped, your cheeks still wet.
A warm hand cupped your cheek. Joel smiled. You saw the small wrinkles around his eyes, his soft brown eyes full of feelings for you.
"I'm the happiest man in the world, my love," he replied, "I have everything with you."
And he kissed you, already knowing that what he was saying was true.
"Joel? What the hell are you doing here?"
Tommy approached his brother, who was preparing to go on patrol. His horse was already saddled, and his rifle was slung over his shoulder. He looked at him, demanding an explanation.
“How does that look to you? I’m going on patrol,” Joel replied, still working. “We’re leaving in ten minutes.”
“It’s not your turn,” Tommy said, crossing his arms over his chest. “What now? She was feeling sick the other day, and then she had to help Ann. You can’t keep covering for her on patrol.”
“That doesn’t bother anyone,” Joel muttered. “Come on, Tommy.”
The man snickered. “What? Is she pregnant or something?”
Something in Joel shifted slightly. Tommy had known him long enough to notice it. He noticed the small gesture, the change in his gaze.
“No shit!” he choked out. “Really? Damn! You still have it, don’t you? Oh, man!” he patted Joel on the shoulder. “That’s good news!” But he noticed that Joel’s face wasn’t as happy as he’d expected. Quite the opposite. Something was nagging at him.
Tommy leaned in slightly. “But she’s fine, right? Have you been to the clinic yet?”
Joel nodded. “Yeah. She goes almost every week. Listen…” he looked at Tommy, and Tommy saw the hidden fear in his eyes. “After what happened, we don’t want to take any risks. Morris says everything’s great, but we won’t be able to relax until we get to the second trimester.”
“What week is she?”
“Almost ten.” The corner of his mouth lifted. Just the thought of you and the baby growing under your heart made him want to smile.
Tommy looked at the men preparing for patrol, then back at Joel. “Listen, you’re not alone. We’ll all keep an eye on her, I promise you. No patrols, no hard work.”
“Thank you.”
“You don’t have to thank me. We’re family, right?”
Joel nodded. “Don’t spread it around. We want to keep it to ourselves as long as possible.”
“Sure.” Tommy grinned. “Back to diapers, huh? You must be so happy.”
“We are.”
The same day you took the test, you went to the clinic. You waited until dusk again and kept it a secret. Dr. Morris examined you and assured you that the pregnancy was progressing.
“The results are normal. The heart is beating strongly,” he said as you stared at the blurry image on the screen. “You should be more careful because of what happened earlier. But I think you’re out of danger at this point.”
From that day on, every night, Joel put a red cross on the calendar in the workshop. He counted down the days until you were both safe. There was nothing more he could do. Joel took over for you on patrol, but that was all. Oh, and he also started drinking coffee by the open window or on the porch so the smell wouldn’t bother you. Despite all your fears, you were truly happy.
And you were in this together, like a family.

yesterday while feverish i wrote about how boats can moor next to each other like pigeons, cooing with the gentle rap of water against their hull. you once said that that the way i see things - birds in the water, feathers in marina paint - was "childish and naive." you said i'd been misdiagnosed - "it can't all be adhd. you might be just kind of stupid and lazy."
i still do certain things like how you taught me - turn the pillow case inside out before putting it on. drive defensively. hate myself entirely.
the prompt for this poem is "mahler's fifth." i wish it wasn't, but mahler's fifth was our song. it ended up in my book. every person that knows your name has promised me they'll give you one swift rabbit punch, right to the face. dean read the book and showed up on my front porch, drenched in sweat from running the 8 miles at 4 in the morning. he was shaking. pacifist and gentle - he works with children - i'd never seen him furious. a punch isn't going to do it, he said, and then said i'm sorry. i had to come to see if you were okay.
mahler's fifth was mine first, like my girlhood. i like the way each movement piles onto the next movement, each instrument bleeding into the next. i like the horn version the best. before i met you, i danced to it on grass still-wet from sprinklers.
later you would tell me that the way you heard it was somehow better. you understood something in it that i couldn't quite wrap my fingers into. once, on our anniversary, you asked the classical music radio station to play it for us. we missed hearing it because we were fighting. one of the things people get wrong about abuse is that sometimes victims are, like, brutally aware of the stupidity of our situation. what do you mean that you thought i wasn't good enough for you? you? you're just... nothing.
sometimes people can pull the poetry out of your life. i watched my words become clothesline, and then thin out into kite twine. i watched you chew through every good syllable of me. so many good songs and places and moments were ruined. i am glad you didn't like most of my music - less to tie back to you.
but still mahler's fifth. the music swells, and i am 21 and throwing up in a bathroom on my birthday. a woman i will later refer to as lesbian jesus runs a cool hand down my back, her perfect pantsuit starch-pressed. she told me to leave you. she said - and this is true, and not an invention of rhyme or fantasy - i'm you from the future.
i am 22, and i got home from an award ceremony, and i remember you telling me - you act so proud of yourself when you're actually so fucking embarrassing. i took you to disney world. you took my virginity. i gave up visiting spain for a week with my family - i instead choose you, to spend the time just-cuddling. you called it "our fuck week." the music swells. it probably should have been a red flag that for about 3 years - i just gave up on crying. my grandfather died and you said nothing. my uncle died and you ghosted me for 3 weeks. you said i need to protect myself from your ongoing tragedy.
every so often i come back to the memory of one of our last afternoons in person. i had just told you that i wasn't going to law school, despite the free ride - i was going to join a creative writing program. master's in fine arts. i was going to finally do it - i was going to follow my dreams. this blog was already internet-famous. however reluctantly, i would occasionally refer to myself as a poet. i got into umass amherst's writing program for fiction authors. it is one of the the top 5 programs in the country.
wait are you seriously considering actually attending that? dumbfounded, you turned completely towards me in your seat. for the 3rd time in our relationship, you almost crashed the car. you actually want to be a writer?
the first time i went viral, it was for a poem i wrote about you:
he wants to say i love you but keeps it to goodnight because love will take some falling and she's afraid of heights.
every time i see that, i want to throw up. you weren't in love with me, you were in love with the control you had over me. a little truth though: i am afraid of heights. you caught a rabbitgirl and skinned her alive.
mahler's fifth still makes me sick.
give me that back. give me back music. give me back everything i had before you. give me back fearlessness. give me back bravery. give me back a scarless body.
give me back what you took from me.
#nosebleed club#sorry stephen not ur fault#just like. thinking#writeblr#spilled ink#warm up#every time nat is like - oh let me get that for u#im like .... this is a trick right like ur gonna be mean now bc u did something nice rn#so obviously if ur being nice now either u did something mean and im about to learn about it#or you're going to BE mean#or ur gonna hold this over my head forever and i'll never get a nice thing ever again?#and every time nat is like .... babe i just actually like u#lesbian jesus story is 100% real btw. she also told me not to be an event planner#literally changed the shape of my life

Ok, first of your yandere stories are to DIE FOR. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH AAAAH! I'M SO GLAD I FOUND YOU.
and second of all, I can't get enough of that scummy asshat Danny(as fcked up as that is). My mind just makes up this what ifs scenarios and I just had to ask--
- you mentioned that Danny liked her for years now, assuming it went back all the way to their highschool years, and his pride of being seen with someone as her kept him from acting up, i was wondering WHAT IF someone (another yandere perhaps?) just suddenly appears and swoops(or attempts) to swoop her away? (kinda like a yandere!city boy v.s. yandere!farmboy AAAH)
- and with the main story with Daniel, what if some guy (a or THE yandere!city boy maybe) comes knocking in the [Last Name] house's doorstep, claiming that he was the one who did that to her that night and is planning to take full responsibility? What will Daniel do?
-AND finally, what if they're married right? And like yandere!city boy or maybe yandere!business man, takes an interest on her despite knowing she's already married?
Sorry, it's a lot, my mind just can't stop running right now 💀 , no pressure in answering of course! Just curious on what the scenarios would be if those were to happen and also again, I love your yandere stories and characters so much AHH and I haven't even read the rest yet! 💖💖
Having someone from outside of the community around who is interested in the reader would certainly shake things up. Compared to Danny, Yandere City Boy isn't well trusted by the town. It's not that he's bad or mistreated, but there's an air of mystery about him that people don't really like. No family background, nothing to base opinions off of... he's a black hole in terms of reputation.
A large part of Danny's control over the reader is the fact that she has no one to turn to, so if the Yandere City Boy shows up and suddenly starts pursuing her, it means that there's at least one avenue that she has to escape him.
Not only would Danny be jealous, but he'd be afraid of losing for the first time.
He'd be furious that someone besides himself even thought of Reader in that way. She's supposed to be his secret, his girl that he chases in his mind. All these years of hard work go out the window if some asshole city dweller who doesn't know his head from his ass goes and fucks it all up.
If yandere City boy tried to pursue the reader back in high school, then Danny would've acted sooner. He might inform your folks that some strange guy is sniffing around, or he might just go full throttle and try to get you to date him instead of some random guy who doesn't deserve you.
I think Danny would also feel surprisingly secure if he had already married reader when the Yandere City Boy turned up. Like, he's already gotten her so far under his control at that point that he doesn't even fathom that she could still dream of being away from him. I think he'd genuinely believe the reader loved him back, or at least appreciated the life he gave them enough to not leave. Of course, his arrogance could then lead to her actually getting stolen.
Danny would be the most livid if the City boy tried to claim that he was the one who got the reader pregnant. In Danny's eyes, he was the one who put in all that effort into finally catching you. I mean, it's perfect for him. You're in a tough spot, no one else believes you, and you have no one else to turn to but him. It's literally years of pining and desperation spun into one sinister plot that he's finally caught you in, and someone else is taking credit? No way. Not on his watch.
I think he'd try to spin it in a different way. Like, you said someone forced themselves on you right? Well if the City boy is claiming he's the father of your baby, then he must be the one who did such horrible things to you!
Danny would use his family's influence and money to make it so that your very own words would be twisted against the City boy, and the crime would be pinned on him instead. I think he'd really get his hands dirty in that scenario and try to get rid of his competition for certain. And hey, while he's locked away in jail, wouldn't it be terrible if something happened to him?
But yeah I think Danny would honestly respond to a rival differently based on how far along he was in his plan on obtaining the reader.

The Graveyard Shift: Chapter II
Simon Riley x f!Reader
Author's Note: Credit goes to @gloomwitchwrites and this specific post for inspiring this fic! This idea has lived in my mind rent free for weeks now, so I'm finally just going to do something about it.
Summary: Simon Riley is a lonely grave keeper in Victorian England who puts a marriage proposal ad in the London newspaper. He's ready to make his house a home, but can he convince his new wife that he can be her safe space, or will the secret she carries threaten their newfound happiness?
Warnings: abusive marriages (not Simon), allusions to SA in later chapters (not explicit)

Simon Riley woke, as he always did, thirty minutes before the sun. Alone. He baked biscuits and a single slice of bacon for breakfast, let Riley out into the woods behind the cottage to conduct his business, and ate on the wicker chair by the front steps. He waited for his tea to cool enough that he could swallow it in one great mouthful, and when the sun had risen high enough to ricochet off the gravestones and cast the world in a blue hue, he took his bag of digging tools and set off into the graveyard with Riley at his heels.
Riley meandered about the stones, shoving his black nose into the grassy earth and hunting for creatures that swam in the deep, dark crust, blind and protected. Simon paid little mind to his dog as he carefully plucked the weeds from each and every gravestone. He scrubbed at the moss and fungi that bloomed in whorls along the engravings, only whistling on occasion to remind Riley not to disturb the wildflowers that grew in gentle tufts. There were no new graves to dig. No new headstones to carve. Today was just about the gardening.
It was hard labor, but quiet. Pensive. Not at all the grotesque task people made it out to be. Simon liked to think he was but a visitor to the souls that might be roaming the graves. Liked to think that they approved of the careful selection of flowers he planted along the edges of the graveyard, or the way he trimmed the grass right up to the stone markers. Or the way he remembered to pluck and discard every branch that had been snapped in the previous night’s rainfall.
He was halfway through the workday, sweat collecting at the seam of his cap when he heard Father Hughes’ familiar, asthmatic heaving up the hill. The spindly man appeared slowly over the crest and then all at once. His clean cap and narrow black clothes gave the impression that he was always pointing to God — a fitting appearance for the tallest clergyman that anyone had seen on this side of Kent.
Simon took off his cap in welcome, silently trudging back to his house to set the kettle on for Father Hughes. The clergyman stumbled in after, rapidly folding himself into the nearest chair and rubbing his chest.
“Lord have mercy on me,” he huffed, “That hill will be the death of me.”
Simon chuckled good naturedly, waiting for the exact moment Father Hughes would once again forget his height and slam his knee into the kitchen table. The moment came soon after with a brusque, polite, “Good heavens!” Then Simon placed the teacup on the table.
“God bless you, Simon. I’m glad I caught you at home—” there were few other places Simon frequented “—for I have good news!” He slid a short stack of letters across the table, all of them still stamped and sealed. “I would have delivered them sooner, but alas, I needed to visit the Tomlins all of last week.”
Simon nodded in understanding, busying himself with frying a slice of bread over the fireplace. He knew very well that the youngest son, William Tomlin had passed away after a long bout of sickness. He had dug the grave after all.
“Thank you, Father Hughes,” he answered in his low, sandpaper voice.
Simon could not read. He could only sign his name and had a steady enough hand to engrave the gravestones so long as he followed someone else’s marks. Father Hughes took care of all else. Simon waited as the clergyman cracked open the first letter and read the contents aloud.
“Margaret Tacker. 19 years old of London. A conduit for the spirits—”
“No occultists.” He couldn’t stand the ones looking to make cheap money off someone else’s tragedy. They could go haunt someone else’s graveyard but not his.
Father Hughes opened the next two letters but didn’t bother reading them to Simon before he rolled them up and shot them into the fireplace. A wave of sparks spit out onto the floor where Simon kneeled, but the man didn’t so much as flinch, only pulled up the thin scarf he covered his mouth with when working in the graveyard, and continued cooking.
“Alice Bingham. 48 years—well that’s a bit too old for you.”
Simon sighed as another letter was fed to the flames. The advert had gone out only once in the London papers two weeks ago and although a fair few women had responded, none had been of promise. Most were of the spiritual trend that spread through the cities like wildfire more interested in disturbing the spirits that Simon tended to than finding a husband. The other third were, as Father Hughes liked to judge them, harlots and thieves. Simon had scoffed when Father Hughes had first uttered those words — a grave keeper was hardly of any worth to a woman after money — but even he had to agree that their letters did not entice him, and he so desperately wanted a wife.
He wondered if he was being too choosy. A man of his age and profession could not afford to be select with women, especially not one so lonely as Simon with only Riley and Father Hughes for company. And yet he had hoped to find someone who might care for him. Someone he could take care of in kind.
It was Father Hughes’ silence that caught Simon’s attention as he slid over a buttered piece of fried toast. The cookware squeaked across the scuffed table and crumbs fell into Father Hughes’ wiry beard as he chewed and pondered the final letter.
“Y/n Hall of London, though originally born of Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, where the weather is no better or worse than anywhere else. 25 years of age. Can sew, knit, cook, clean, read, and sing (passably). Would enjoy gardening if given the chance. Of small upbringing. Quiet and of respectable countenance. Never married.”
Simon snatched up the photo that Father Hughes held the moment the letter was read. Very few of the women sent photos, though most wrote of facial features too perfect to be true. It was a common tintype, slightly blurred from movement so that the edges of her hair and dress seemed to merge into the background. A soft, solemn face stared back at him with eyes so deep he thought he might fall forward into the picture and disappear forever. Although she did not smile for the picture, he swore he saw the faintest turn in her cheeks that suggested she did, at least on occasion, laugh.
“Anything else?” Simon asked breathlessly. His heart should not have been beating so quickly in his chest, nor his cheeks as warm as they were. He tugged his scarf up higher, hiding behind the dark cloth until only two plain, brown eyes looked out.
“There is a return address to a bishop in London, but nothing else.”
Simon memorized every line that had been read to him. It wasn’t so dreary in the countryside as it was in London, and if she was interested in gardening, she could help him expand the herb selection behind the cottage. He could ask Father Hughes for books. He could—
He froze. He was imagining too much already, thinking too heavily before she’d even properly agreed to marry him.
“What do I do next?” He asked.
Father Hughes blinked and then smiled slow as syrup. He drummed his slender fingers on his cap, looking around the cottage deep in thought.
It was a small house where the drawing room, entryway, kitchen, and dining room were one and the same. The front of the house stared out rows of gravestones that sloped down to the town below like it was carried on a wave of green. But the floors were swept clean every night and bore only a respectable number of scuffs. The walls were bare and lime-washed once a year. The pantry was stocked just enough for one man and a dog, but free of spiders and dust. It was all clean and lived in… but terribly lonely. Father Hughes thought it could use the spark of color that only a companion could bring — the sense of permanence that made a house a home.
“I can have the marriage papers drafted and sent to this bishop in London. A lawyer will need to approve of the documents, and of course, the lady must sign them, her family members made aware and affairs managed. And—.”
“Could you take care of all that?”
“Why certainly, I—”
“Then?”
Father Hughes huffed. Simon Riley was a man of such few words it never occurred to the clergyman that he could be interrupted by said man.
“Then you will find yourself in possession of a wife. She will find her way to Chilham and…”
“And?!”
“Then you shall do what married people do.”
Was it really all that simple? Simon couldn’t fathom it as he spent the next weeks preparing the house. He’d been perhaps too quick to sign the papers and shove them in Father Hughes’ hands, barely giving the priest time to read aloud the contract to him. Then he’d set off into town — which he rarely did — and gone to the blacksmith for a ring — which he could scarcely believe. What he left with days later was a simple band with a misshapen pearl that had once belonged to his grandmother.
Then came the cleaning, and the rearranging of his items to make space for her — which took a depressingly short amount of time, for Simon had little — and the building of a new wardrobe to fill the corner of his bedroom.
Their bedroom. He reminded himself not for the first time, wiping the sweat that trickled down from his temples to the black mask he kept over his nose and mouth. It was difficult work tending to graves. Even harder work digging them from sunup to sundown with nothing but grave markers, a dog, and the ghosts for company.
For good measure he came into the possession of a vanity that he refurbished and stained a handsome mahogany before leaving it beside the new wardrobe.
That would be her corner, he decided, and every morning he would get to lay in bed and watch as she put up her hair, and every evening he would watch as she brushed it out and prepared for bed.
The image came to him so forcefully that he had to swallow three times to clear his throat. He hadn’t realized how much he missed having another person in his life — another body to hear moving around his home. Perhaps she would hum as she worked in the kitchen and read to him at night as he helped keep the fire alight for evening tea. It hurt him to think about it.
It excited him so.
Riley huffed against his knee, staring up with eyes black as pitch as he whined and shook his bushy brown tail.
There was one gravestone, old enough that time and wind had worn away the words once etched into the rock, that Simon liked to lean back on as he drank ale at the end of a long day. The air was hot and stifling, but he found he could breathe a little easier now.
He cracked a small smile, running his rough hands through Riley’s brown-black coat and rubbing his pointy, velvety ears.
“You won’t get to sleep with me in bed no more. Sorry.” But he wasn’t terribly apologetic. Simon knelt down, letting the shepherd lick his salty skin. “I hope you’re as excited as I am. I hope she likes us both.”

Johnny, La Gente Está Muy Loca… WTF
Johnny Suh x Male Reader

cw: protected sex to bareback (remember do NAWT use oil based lube when you're using a condom), some impregnation kink disguised as silly jokes 😭
an: this is the best title i could ever think of ngl, like this is peak star-suh idk.
—
yn was in line waiting for the doors to open so he can finally witness a party with DJ JohnnyBe, he heard that all his parties are fun.
when they opened yn went straight to the bar to order something to drink, while he was waiting for the show to start he made some friends her and there.
“ladies and gentlemen please give it up for our guest DJ JohnnyBe” screams and claps of excitement flooded the room when the dj appeared. “hello everyone, i'm glad to be here and i hope i could make this night unforgettable for all of you” he winked, put on his dark glasses and blasted his first set of songs. the bass sounds make the floor vibrate. the music was intoxicating, DJ JohnnyBe indeed knows how to lit a party. during one of his last sets johnny removed his glasses, his gaze was adjusting to the bright colored flashing lights when he saw yn in the crowd. the guy was happy having the time of his life, something that made johnny smile and caught his attention too.
“excuse me, i’m going to the bathroom” yn whispered to one of his new friends and went there. “it was a magnificent night guys, thank you for coming here but i have to go now” everyone awwed, disappointed, wanting more of him, “but don't worry, tye part continues with the next dj”, everyone screamed in euphoria while johnny left and went to the bathroom.
yn was washing his face when someone entered the bathroom, “hey you're the happy boy that was on the crowd” johnny said with a happy tone. yn was stunned seeing him that close, his mouth was agap, thinking it was a dream caused by all the drinks he had tonight he said “fuck, you're so hot”. johnny was taken aback by this but then smirked, “well thanks” he replies.
yn realized it's not a dream, dj johnny fucking be was right there in front of him. his face became red like a tomato. “i-i'm sorry i think i-i d-drank a lot to-tonight haha” his flustered ass tried to brush it off. johnny places both hands on each side of tn cornering him against a counter. “you look so cute when you're flustered” both males made eye contact, one’s eyes showing how shy he was while the other's were fierce, as if a hunter had just hunted his prey.
“what's wrong party boy. what happened to that “fuck you're so hot” earlier comment, hmm?” at this point yn didn't know what to say he just closed his eyes but opened them again when he felt something poking at his bulge. it was johnny’s bulge. “see how horny i am, right now?, you should take responsibility for it” the low tone of his voice sending yn already to cloud 9, he moaned johnny’s name.
“hmm what was that?” johnny asked, his breath tickling yn’s neck. his lips ghosting his skin. he was desperate to feel johnny, he wanted him to touch him, obliterate him, rearrange his insides. “i’ve never felt this horny before for someone” yn confessed, feeling even more shy. johnny grabbed him by his chin so he can look directly at his eyes, “me neither” he said kissing the flustered boy…
johnny guided yn towards a bathroom stall while still kissing him, his tongue wxploring the other's mouth. “just put it in, i prep myself at home” yn said in between moans. “naughty” johnny heaved. he pulls out a condom from his pocket, unwrapped it and rolled it down his big thick shaft.
“wait” yn stopped johnny from putting in, “use this” he handed johnny a little bottle of lube that one of his new friends, conveniently, gave it to him as a ‘gift’ so he can have lots of fun tonight.
johnny applied and large amount of it on the latex and on yn's hole, he slapped it a few times on the entrance and slowly put it in, inch by inch. the sex was rough, with johnny using his hands to muffle yn's moans, something that was unnecessary due to the excessive loud music outside in the club. there were times were johnny instead made yn suck his fingers as if it was his dick. every time the dj thrusted deep a bulge formed on yn's tummy, “joh-johnny you're very deep”.
yn was pressed against the stall door with his eyes rolled back, johnny was stimulating his prostate continuosly and in return he was gripping hard on johnny's meat, “you're choking my little budy down there” he put his hand on the bottom's head pushing it even more harder against the door. a smile appeared on yn's face, he loved how rough johnny was treating him. “more. more. i need moree~”.
if someone were in the bathroom right now they would think that some rabid dog would be locked in the bathroom, with the loud strange sounds and the banging against the cold metal walls. but in reality johnny was there thrashing yn around the stall, there was not a pose left for them to try or a surface that they haven't touched with their sweaty bodies. missionary, against the wall, riding, with one leg up, johnny fucking him while still grabbing him. yn's hole was already obliterated but eager to receive more.
the smell of sweat, liquor and spit make them both feel dizzy, lost in the pleasure they both craved. hickeys littered all over their collarbones, necks and torso, hell even johnny made some on yn's thigh.
the euphoric feeling made them lost trace of time and their surroundings so much that yn didn't notice that johhny's dick felt warmer and warmer by time, he could feel every vein brushing against his walls. the same happened to johnny, he felt yn's insides warmer and how they hugged his little buddy even more than before. ‘woah, condoms nowadays make you feel like you're not wearing one’ they both said it in their minds. they didn't realize the condom broke and with every thrust it slowly went down johnny’s shaft sitting in the base of it.
johnny hugged yn tightly to impale his meat even more deep and harder, “fuck yeah please like that” yn whimpered, his body squirming in pleasure. “keep doing it like that. just a bit more. yes just right there” yn said to johnny who complied to the bottom’s demands. yn came, his torso being painted in white. his body spasm with every spurt of it. he was happy, he hasn't felt this way in years, this might be the best sex of his life.
“fuck i'm gonna cum” johnny grunted, he wanted to came on yn's face but he didn't wanted to stop feeling the warm insides of the guy so ge decided to just came inside the condom. little did he knew that he was, in fact, covering those insides with his white seed. “how does it feel to have a man's seed deep inside your hole?” johnny asked nibbling on yn's neck. “it feels sticky and so wet” yn slurred, coming back from his high.
the realization hit them both right there, “what do you mean sticky and wet?” johnny looked down seeing how the broken piece of latex was on the base of his shaft while the rest of it was inside of the other, bareback. “oh god i just bred you”, “oh my god you just breed me”, johnny and yn exclaimed in unison…
they both get out of the stall, yn walked awkwardly after all his hole suffered a lot tonight. staring at themselves in the mirror with a dumbfounded expression while fixing their looks and disheveled hair. “why are we acting as if you're gonna get pregnant” johnny joked, trying to lighten the awkward atmosphere.
“johnny, it … it was the first time someone came inside me” yn looked down feeling embarrassed but once again johnny grabbed his chin to make eye contact with him “then i guess i have to take responsibility for that baby on there” he caressed yn’s stomach. they looked at each other and then exploded in laugh, “dumbass” yn blurted out hitting johnny's shoulder lightly.
“you're way cool than it thought” yn confesses “and so wild in sex, my back side hurts a bit”.
“i also think you're cool” johnny replied politely too, “if you want, come to my hotel room. i know a home remedy to ease that pain” he gripped one of his ass cheeks, “the night is still young” he wiggled his eyebrows.
yn caught what he meant and said “oh yes of course, i would like to try it. besides i kinda want other of your babies inside me”. johnny kissed him in the lips and then in the forehead, “let's make a football team then”. they left the bathroom straight to the hotel room to chase that euphoric feeling again.

WHEN THE WORLD GOES QUIET PT.2 | LN4
an: i'm seeing a lot of love for this and i'm glad! i hope you guys enjoy this as much as i enjoyed writing this - i'm now omw to the library to write some more stories for you guys hehe
wc: 6.1k
part one
FOR DAYS, SHE MOURNED.
She barely left her bed, drifting between fitful sleep and hollow wakefulness, the hours melting into each other like wax from a candle burned too long. The world outside continued - newspapers shouted about the war, footsteps echoed in the stairwell, rain pattered softly against the windowpane - but none of it touched her. It all felt so distant, like she was floating just outside of reality, unable to reach it, unwilling to try.
The soldiers had come back two days later after the first visit. They handed her a small box - Lando’s belongings. He didn’t have much. A pocket watch, the glass cracked but the hands still ticking. A battered deck of playing cards, edges worn soft from use. A few letters he never sent to her, some half-written, some only a few lines long. A book of poetry she gave him with his name scrawled inside the cover, the pages dog-eared and stained with ink. He lied to her, he said he’d never read it. A cigarette case, dented, still holding one last cigarette as though he was going to come back and smoke it with her in the rain while she sang.
She ran her fingers over each item carefully, as if memorising the feel of them, as if holding these things would somehow bring him back. She placed the box on the small table by her bed and left it there, untouched after that, unable to look at it for too long.
A week passed. The grief didn’t lessen, but it settled into something quieter, heavier, pressing down on her ribs with every breath.
And then, on the seventh day, there was a knock at the door.
It was weak. Barely there. Just a soft, uncertain tap tap tap, as if the person on the other side wasn’t sure they had the strength to knock at all.
She ignored it at first - probably some children selling biscuits. She barely had the energy to move, let alone answer the door. But then it came again, a little stronger this time, though still unsteady.
Slowly, she pushed herself up, wrapping her dressing gown around herself as she crossed the small, dimly lit room. Her body felt leaden, her mind sluggish, and for a moment, she thought it must be one of her neighbours - maybe Mrs. Holloway from downstairs, coming to check if she was still breathing.
She unlocked the door with tired fingers and pulled it open-
And nearly collapsed where she stood.
Lando.
He was standing in front of her, barely upright, swaying slightly on his feet like a man who’d been fighting gravity for too long. His face was bruised and still slightly bloodied, one eye swollen, a cut running along his temple. His uniform was tattered, stained with dirt and dried blood, his left arm cradled against his side as if even the weight of it was too much to bear. He looked ruined. Wrecked by something that should have killed him.
But he was here.
Alive.
A slow lopsided grin pulled at his split lip, his voice rough and hoarse as he rasped-
“Missed me, sweetheart?”
Her breath hitched, her vision blurred. For a moment, she could do nothing but stare, her hands gripping the doorframe to keep herself upright.
Then, before she could think, before she could stop herself.
She threw herself at him.
Her arms wrapped around his neck, her body colliding with his so suddenly that he let out a low groan of pain, but she didn’t care for a brief minute. He was solid. Real. Her fingers curled into his torn uniform, her face buried in his shoulder, and the sob that has been trapped in her chest for weeks finally broke free.
He let out a shaky breath, his good arm tightening around her waist as he whispered, “Took a long bloody way home, but I got here, didn’t I?”
Home.
She pulled back just enough to look at him, her hands cradling his face, her thumbs brushing over the bruises there. He winced slightly but didn’t pull away.
“You-” Her voice cracked, raw from days of silence. “You died.”
He gave her a faint, crooked smirk. “Nearly died. Big difference, sweetheart.” His voice softened. “They shot us down over France. I-” He swallowed, something dark flickering through his bruised gaze. “I shouldn’t have made it.”
Her fingers trembled against his jaw, her heart thudding painfully against her ribs “But you did.”
“Yeah.” His voice was barely a whisper now. “Yeah, I did.”
She stared at him for a long moment, her breath uneven, her thoughts a tangled mess of grief and disbelief and absolute, crushing relief.
Then she grabbed his collar, yanked him forward and kissed him.
He made a low sound in his throat, startled, but he melted into her, his lips warm despite the cold that clung to his skin. It was desperate, messy, edged with too much pain and too many unsaid words, but neither of them cared.
When they finally pulled apart, he let out a breathless chuckle, his forehead resting against hers. “Blimey. If I’d known I’d get a welcome like that, I’d have come back sooner.”
She huffed out a tearful laugh, skating her head as fresh tears slid down her cheeks. “You’re an idiot.”
“Yeah, well,” he murmured, his fingers brushing weakly over her wrist. “You love me anyway, don’t you?”
She didn’t really know what love was growing up, she was raised knowing that she could only love God and the Church. But here, staring at this messy boy with his messy curls and lopsided grin, she thought of how much she mourned him, the lie she voiced for him and realised that yes, she did love him.
She exhaled, her fingers still cupping his face, and nodded.
“Yeah,” she whispered. “I do.”
He closed his eyes for a moment, like he was letting it sink in, letting it steady him. Then, with a small, pained sigh, he leaned into her touch and muttered-
“Reckon I might need a lie-down, sweetheart. Nearly dying’s exhausting work.”
She let out a watery laugh, shaking her head as she finally pulled him inside, shutting the door behind them.
She still didn’t know how this was possible, how he was here, when she had already mourned him. She didn’t know if she would ever stop waking up in cold sweats, thinking it had all been a dream.
But for now, he was here and that was enough for her.
Once inside, she took care of him. Took care of him in the only way she knew how, with love.
The small flat wasn’t much, but it was warm, and it was safe, and for now, that was enough. She helped him out of his tattered uniform with careful hands, breath momentarily taken away as she took in his build. Her fingers ghosted over the bruised ribs, torn skin, the places where war had left its mark on him. He hissed when she pressed a damp cloth to the cut on his temple, but he didn’t complain, only watching her with a look that made her chest tighten.
She tried not to meet his gaze, tried to focus on the task at hand. But then-
“So,” he drawled, his voice still rough, still weak, but carrying the familiar edge of teasing. “Heard you called yourself my fiancée.”
Her hands froze.
Her stomach plummeted.
Her eyes snapped up to his, wide with horror. He looked far too smug for someone who had nearly died, his bruised lips curling into something that might have been a smirk if he wasn’t so exhausted.
She stammered, struggling for words, but before she could say anything, she glanced down at her hand.
And her heart stopped.
The ring.
It was still on her left hand. She had never switched it back.
Heat flooded her face so quickly she thought she might faint. She dropped the cloth to his lap and yanked the ring off, shoving it back onto her right hand, fingers trembling, her whole body ablaze with mortification.
“That was- I had to,” she spluttered. “They wouldn’t have told me anything otherwise, and I needed to know.”
Lando let out a low chuckle, wincing at the movement. “I dunno, sweetheart. Sounds an awful lot like a proposal to me.”
She picked up the cloth and threw it at his chest.
He let out a breathless laugh, catching it before it fell to the floor, but the sound faded quickly, something heavier settling between them. She swallowed, focusing on cleaning his wounds, pretending she wasn’t still burning from the embarrassment.
“You really did that?” he asked for a moment, his voice quieter now, “You went all the way out to Bovingdon?”
She nodded, dabbing gently at his brow. “Didn’t have a choice, did I?”
Something flickered in his gaze- something unreadable, something deep. “That was dangerous darling, what if something happened to your train?”
“I needed to know, Lan.”
He went quiet after that and she continued to work, washing away the blood, the dirt, the remnants of everything he had endured. The worst of it was his ribs, bruised and maybe cracked, but there was nothing she could do except wrap them, murmuring soft apologies when he flinched beneath her touch.
When she was done, she sat back, studying her work.
“You should be in the military,” Lando muttered, voice laced with exhaustion. “Proper little nurse, you are.”
She huffed, rolling her eyes. “I would be in the military, if they let me fight.”
His gaze softened. “I reckon you’d win the whole bloody war if they did.”
She scoffed, but the corner of her mouth twitched upward. For a moment, just a moment. Things almost felt normal.
But then, Lando let out a slow breath, the teasing fading from his face.
“I lost Oscar,” he said.
Her heart clenched.
Lando’s right hand-man. His best mate. She had met him once- just once, outside the bar, both of them too drunk to be serious about anything. He had been tall, full of quick wit and easy laughter, and Lando trusted him with everything.
She didn’t know what to say.
Lando didn’t look at her, his gaze fixed somewhere far away - empty. “We were shot down over France. They got us good. We tried-” He exhaled, his hands twitching, curling into fists. “We tried to jump, but Oscar- his parachute wouldn’t open. I saw him go down. Couldn’t do a damn thing.
She reached for his hand instinctively, gripping it tightly.
“I don’t know how I made it back,” he admitted. “I ran back for Oscar, took him as far as I could and gave him a final prayer. Silly right?” he chuckled. “I took a bullet to the leg after that, nearly starved, but some French boys found me. Got me out before the Jerries could.” His throat bobbed. “But Osc-”
He didn’t finish.
She squeezed his fingers, her heart aching. “I’m so sorry, Lando.”
He nodded once, slowly. But she knew this wasn’t something he would ever truly move past.
The war took and took and took.
And yet, somehow, against all odds. Lando had come back.
She let the silence settle between them, her fingers still wrapped around his. It wasn’t comfortable, not with the weight of what he had just said, but she knew better than to rush him. Lando seemed like the type of man who carried his grief quietly, let it sink into his bones where no one could reach it.
After a while, she exhaled softly and asked, “So, what happens now?”
Lando tilted his head back against the wall, his bruised face illuminated by the dim glow of the gaslight. He looked tired. Bone tired. But the ghost of a smirk still tugged at his lips.
“Well,” he drawled, “I’m on the injury list until I heal. Not much use to ‘em like this, am I?” He gestured vaguely to himself, to the cuts, the bruises, the way his left arm still hung stiffly at his side. “Can’t fly, can’t fight. Means I’m stuck here for a bit.”
She nodded, trying not to let the relief show too plainly on her face. He was here. He wasn’t being shipped back out - at least not yet.
Lando glanced at her, something unreadable flickering behind his eyes. “Father O’Connell said I can stay at the Church until I’m good.”
That made her pause.
“The Church?” She repeated, raising an eyebrow.
He huffed a quiet laugh, as if he had been expecting her reaction. “They’ve got a spare cot, and it’s better than the street, sweetheart.”
She bit the inside of her cheek, fighting a smile. "You? Sleeping under a roof dedicated to the Lord you don’t believe in?"
Lando smirked. "Reckon I’ll be fine, so long as the walls don’t cave in the moment I step inside."
She laughed then, shaking her head. "Blasphemous and injured. You’re on dangerous ground, Lando Norris."
"Wouldn’t be the first time," he murmured, wincing slightly as he shifted.
She hesitated for a moment, watching him carefully. He was exhausted. She could see it in the way his body sagged slightly against the chair, the way his hands trembled faintly from either pain or sheer fatigue. He was trying to keep up the bravado, but she knew better.
"Stay here."
The words left her mouth before she had fully thought them through, but as soon as she said them, she knew she meant them.
Lando blinked at her. "What?"
She crossed her arms, feigning nonchalance. "You heard me."
He raised an eyebrow, smirking faintly. "Offering up your flat to a war hero, are you?"
She rolled her eyes. "Hardly. Just an injured man who can barely stand upright."
Lando chuckled, but then he really looked at her—like he was trying to understand if she was serious. "I don’t wanna be a burden."
"You won’t be," she said, softer this time.
He studied her for a long moment, as if he was trying to decide whether or not to argue. Then, finally, he let out a small, resigned sigh.
"Alright, sweetheart," he murmured. "You win."
And for the first time in days, she felt like she could breathe.
She looked after him because someone had to.
She changed the bandages on his ribs with careful hands, wiped the dried blood from his temple, made him tea even though he grumbled that he wasn’t some fragile old man. She forced him to eat, nudging a half-stale biscuit toward him when he thought she wasn’t looking. And when his body ached too much to sit upright, she guided him to the small bed in the corner of the flat, ignoring his protests as she threw a blanket over him.
It was quiet work. Steady. Something to keep her hands busy, something to stop her from thinking too much about the fact that just two days ago, she had been mourning him.
She was pouring him another cup of tea when she spoke, her voice quieter than before. "I prayed for you."
Lando, sitting up against the headboard, glanced at her. His injuries had settled into something duller now—still painful, but less sharp, less all-consuming. He wasn’t wincing as much when he moved, but his face still bore the bruises of war.
He studied her, something unreadable in his gaze. "Did you?"
She nodded, fingers tightening around the cup. "At the church. When I thought—when I thought you were gone."
His jaw tensed slightly, as if the thought of her grieving him was harder to bear than his own suffering. Then, after a pause, he exhaled and said, "I prayed."
Her head snapped up.
Lando Hargrove, the man who scoffed at church, who smirked every time she wore her cross, who always had something sharp to say about the God she wrestled with.
She swallowed. "You mentioned, you were serious?"
He nodded, looking down at his hands. His voice was quieter now, rougher around the edges. "When I was out there. Alone. Before the French boys found me, with Oscar." His fingers curled slightly, as if remembering the feel of the earth beneath them, the cold, the hunger, the absolute isolation. "Didn’t know if anyone was listening. Didn’t know if I even believed it." His gaze lifted to hers, raw in a way she wasn’t sure she had ever seen before. "But I thought of you."
Her breath caught.
She didn’t know what to say to that, didn’t know how to unravel the knots twisting in her chest. So she just nodded, her throat too tight to speak.
The night carried on, slow and steady. She cleaned up the small mess from their tea, doused the gas lamp until only the dim glow of the streetlights filtered through the curtains. Lando had already sunk lower into the bed, exhaustion pulling at him with an unrelenting grip.
"You should sleep," she murmured.
His lips twitched. "And where are you planning on going, sweetheart?"
She hesitated. The flat was small—there was only the one bed, and the chair in the corner wasn’t much of an option.
Lando let out a quiet chuckle, shifting slightly to the side. "Come on, then. I don’t bite."
She rolled her eyes but, after a moment, relented. Carefully, she climbed in beside him, keeping a respectful distance, but the bed was small, and warmth carried between them in the sliver of space that remained.
For a while, neither of them spoke.
Then, just as her eyes were beginning to slip shut, Lando’s voice came, barely above a whisper.
"Still wearing that ring?"
Her lips twitched, but she didn’t open her eyes. "Go to sleep, Lando."
He let out a quiet, tired laugh.
And with that, for the first time in what felt like years, they both let themselves rest.
The night was still. The distant hum of the city had quieted, leaving only the occasional echo of footsteps on the cobbled streets below.
She had been deep in sleep, cocooned in warmth, when the bed jolted beneath her.
Then—
"Oscar!"
Her eyes flew open.
Lando was thrashing beside her, tangled in the blankets, his face twisted in something raw, something agonising. His breath came in short, ragged gasps, his fingers clenching around the sheets as if he were still there, still on the battlefield, still losing his best friend over and over again.
"No—Oscar—wait—"
His voice cracked, broken apart by a sob.
She moved before she could think, shifting onto her side, reaching for him. "Lando—Lando, wake up—"
But he wasn’t awake, not really. He was trapped in the depths of it, in the nightmare, his chest rising and falling far too fast, his body trembling under the weight of something she couldn’t see.
Her heart ached.
She touched his face gently, brushing damp strands of hair from his forehead. "Lando, love, it’s alright," she whispered, voice steady despite the tightness in her throat. "You’re here. You’re safe."
His breathing stuttered.
She ran her fingers through his hair, trying to bring him back. "It’s not real. You’re with me."
His eyes snapped open.
Wild. Glassy. He was still lost, still caught somewhere far away. But then his gaze landed on her—really landed on her—and something in him broke.
A strangled sound escaped his throat, and then he was clutching her like she was the only thing keeping him tethered to the earth. His body shook, and before he could turn away, before he could hide it, she felt it—
The tears.
Hot, silent, unstoppable.
Lando Norris was crying.
She didn’t hesitate. She lifted herself up, pressing soft kisses to his damp cheeks, tasting the salt of his grief. She wiped the tears away with her lips, her hands, her whole being, as if she could take the pain from him, as if she could bear it for him instead.
His hands curled into the fabric of her nightdress, his breath shuddering. He didn’t speak, and neither did she.
Instead, she held him.
And then, quietly, she whispered a prayer.
She didn’t know if he believed. Didn’t know if she believed anymore, not fully, not in the way she used to. But she prayed anyway, murmured soft words into the hollow space between them, words for Oscar, for Lando, for the war to end, for something greater than all of this.
Lando’s breathing slowed.
His grip on her loosened, just slightly.
She stroked his hair, pressing her forehead against his temple. "Sleep, love," she whispered. "I’ve got you."
He let out a shaky breath, and for the first time that night, he let himself fall.
And she held him, long after sleep claimed him again.
The rest of the night passed in fits and starts.
Even as Lando drifted back to sleep, his body remained tense, like he was waiting to be dragged back into the nightmare. Every so often, he’d shift against her, his fingers twitching in his sleep, a quiet murmur of Oscar’s name escaping his lips.
She didn’t let go.
She kept him close, her arms a steady anchor, her warmth something solid against the cold weight of his grief. When his breath hitched, she whispered reassurances into his skin. When his body shuddered, she ran soft, soothing strokes through his hair. And when dawn finally crept through the curtains, bathing the room in a muted grey light, she barely realised she hadn’t slept at all.
Lando stirred first.
It was slow—his body unwilling, his mind reluctant—but eventually, his brow furrowed, and he let out a low groan, pressing his face into the pillow.
She smiled softly. "Good morning."
A pause. Then, groggy, voice rough with sleep, he muttered, "Bloody hell."
She huffed a quiet laugh. "That bad, is it?"
He peeled one eye open, squinting at the light before shifting onto his back with a deep exhale. His gaze flickered to her, taking in the way she was propped up beside him, watching him with something gentle and knowing.
"Did I wake you?" he asked, voice lower now, almost hesitant.
She hesitated before answering. "You were already asleep when I came back," she murmured, "but you weren’t resting."
Lando’s jaw tightened. He looked away, exhaling slowly through his nose. "I—" He swallowed, then shook his head, running a hand over his face. "Shit."
"You don’t have to say anything," she said, watching him carefully. "Not now. Not ever, if you don’t want to."
Lando was silent.
And then—quietly, reluctantly—he said, "I dream about it."
She stayed quiet, letting him find his own words.
His fingers curled slightly into the sheets. "Sometimes it’s just flashes. The airfields, the engines, the bloody gunfire. Other times…" He exhaled sharply, his throat bobbing. "Other times, it’s Oscar. Every time I close my eyes, I see him. He’s still there, still trying to hold on, and I can’t—I can’t—" His voice faltered, raw and uneven.
She reached for his hand, lacing her fingers through his.
Lando blinked hard, then let out a small, humourless chuckle. "God, you must think I’m pathetic."
Her grip tightened. "I think you’re human."
He glanced at her, something vulnerable in his expression. Then, without a word, he squeezed her hand back.
The moment lingered.
Then, as if suddenly aware of their closeness, Lando cleared his throat and made a weak attempt to sit up.
She rolled her eyes. "Slow down, soldier."
"I was never a soldier," he muttered. "Just a bloody pilot who got too good at running from death."
She didn't argue. Not about that.
Instead, she shifted out of bed, stretching her stiff limbs. "Come on, then. You need tea, and I need breakfast."
Lando gave her a lopsided smirk. "That an offer to cook for me, sweetheart?"
She arched a brow. "You think I’d let you in my kitchen with your injuries? You can barely stand."
Lando chuckled, wincing slightly as he swung his legs over the side of the bed. "Reckon I should milk this while I can, then."
She threw a pillow at him.
And for the first time in what felt like forever, the morning felt light.
The days passed in something dangerously close to peace.
For the first time in months—years, perhaps—she felt as though time had slowed, folding itself neatly around the four walls of her flat. Outside, London was still at war. Air-raid sirens still screamed through the streets, rations still stretched thinner by the day, and grief still clung to the city like fog. But inside, in the small space she shared with Lando, there was warmth.
Routine.
Something almost like a life.
She looked after him, of course. Changed his bandages when he let her, scolded him when he tried to do too much, forced food into his hands when he muttered that he wasn’t hungry. But he, in his own way, looked after her too.
He made her laugh, sometimes without meaning to. He occupied the space beside her like he belonged there, like there was nowhere else in the world he’d rather be. He helped her with supper, standing over the stove with a cigarette perched between his lips, poking at potatoes with the wrong end of a wooden spoon.
One evening, after she had taken a pan from his hands with a sigh and done it herself, he leant against the counter and smirked.
"You know," he mused, watching her work, "you’d make a bloody good wife."
She nearly dropped the spoon.
The words caught her off guard, lodging themselves in a place she couldn’t quite reach, settling into the corners of her mind like an ink stain.
She glanced at him, half-expecting some cocky grin, but his expression was unreadable. He was watching her in a way that made her chest feel tight, made her hands shake ever so slightly as she turned back to the pan.
"Shame, that," she said, forcing lightness into her voice. "Don’t suppose anyone’s taking applications."
Lando hummed. "Well, I dunno about that," he said. "I did hear you’ve already got a fiancé."
She groaned, covering her face with her hands. "I knew you wouldn’t let that go."
"Course not." He grinned, stepping closer. "Imagine my surprise, waking up from the dead to find myself engaged. You could’ve at least let me propose first."
She swatted at him half-heartedly, but the warmth in her cheeks betrayed her.
It stuck with her more than she wanted it to.
After that, the thought wove its way into everything.
When she was brushing flour from her hands after baking the world’s most pitiful loaf of bread, she caught him watching her, and the words you’d make a bloody good wife flickered through her mind before she could stop them. When he reached for something on a high shelf, when he nudged her with his shoulder as he passed by, when he said ta, love with that easy grin—
It settled in her chest like a secret, like a whisper of something neither of them dared say out loud.
The week and a half passed like that. Cooking together, filling the flat with the scent of onions and broth, losing themselves in the simple pleasure of warm meals and soft laughter. The war felt distant, just for a little while.
She knew it wouldn’t last.
But God, she wished it would.
Another week passed, a haze of quiet mornings, warm meals, and the occasional conversation that lingered too long, as if neither of them wanted to break the fragile cocoon they’d woven around themselves. There were days when they barely noticed the outside world at all, as though the war had turned into nothing more than a distant rumble, something happening on the other side of a window that had been carefully closed.
The mornings had become routine—her getting up first, brewing tea, him shuffling into the kitchen in a half-awake stupor, ruffling his hair as he grumbled about being woken. The evenings fell into a rhythm too, with them sitting on the small couch, half a room away, each wrapped in the comfort of the other’s company, while the world continued its war somewhere beyond the windows.
One morning, she woke with the warm weight of Lando's arm around her, his breath soft against the back of her neck. She hadn’t realised it at first, but somehow, during the night, he had pulled her close, and now she lay pressed to his chest, his hold tight, as if he couldn’t bear to let go.
She shifted, careful not to disturb him, and the soft sound of bells reached her ears—faint at first, a distant chime that grew louder. She frowned, trying to make sense of it. It wasn’t the air-raid sirens, and it wasn’t a church bell for a funeral. No, this was different. This was... celebration?
She carefully pulled herself out of his arms, wincing at the small space between them, and padded quietly across the room. Her fingers brushed the curtains aside, and she peered out of the window.
The street below was buzzing with life. People were spilling into the streets, laughing, shouting, and cheering. Flags were being waved. And there—there were the children, dancing in circles, holding hands like they were marking the end of something heavy. The sounds of joyous voices drifted up to her.
Her heart began to pound. No... it can’t be…
"Lando," she whispered, her breath catching in her throat.
She turned back toward the bed, her heart thundering as she crossed the room in a few quick strides. She leaned over him, shaking him gently at first, then more urgently. "Lando, darling—wake up!"
He groaned, rolling over and blinking up at her with a dazed expression, his messy hair sticking up in all directions. His face softened when he saw her, but it didn’t last long as the sound of the bells filled the room.
"What—?" He froze, his eyes suddenly clear, his breath catching.
She couldn’t contain the excitement in her voice, her hands gripping his shoulders. "Lando, the war—it’s over. They’re celebrating. Can’t you hear the bells?"
His eyes widened, then narrowed as he slowly pushed himself up, confusion flickering across his face before realisation dawned on him. The sound of the bells reached his ears, clearer now, and he could hear the cheering too. The world outside, the noise, the celebration—it was undeniable.
He sat up, blinking as he rubbed a hand over his face, disorientated for a moment as if he were still in a dream. Then, a half-laugh, half-sob escaped him, and for a moment, he didn’t move. He just looked at her, his gaze flickering over her face.
"Bloody hell," he muttered under his breath. "Is this... is this really happening?"
She nodded, her own disbelief mirrored in her wide eyes. "It’s true, Lando. They’re celebrating. The war’s ended. It’s finished."
He sat there, silent for a beat too long, before shaking his head as if to clear it. Then, he suddenly sprang from the bed, moving quickly, as if the news had sparked something deep inside him, something that couldn’t be contained.
In a few long strides, he was at the window beside her, his eyes scanning the crowds below. People were hugging, crying, dancing in the streets. And for the first time in years, there were no sirens, no orders to follow, no planes overhead.
Lando’s hand reached for hers, his fingers squeezing with a kind of urgency she hadn’t felt in days. His voice was soft, still somewhat stunned. "It’s over," he whispered, his lips curving in something fragile—something that might have been a smile, if not for the look of wonder in his eyes.
She nodded, her heart swelling with something she didn’t know how to name. "It’s over, Lando."
He turned to face her, his hand still holding hers, his thumb rubbing along her knuckles in a slow, tender motion. His eyes softened, the hardness that had lingered around the edges of them for so long finally ebbing away. "What now, then?" he asked quietly, as if the question itself was almost too much to ask after everything.
She thought about it for a moment, the uncertainty of the future heavy in the air between them, but the weight of the moment didn’t seem as daunting now. The war had ended. The world was open. And somehow, impossibly, they had made it.
"I don’t know," she replied, her voice soft, "but we’re still here. And that’s enough for me."
Lando smiled then, the warmth returning to his face, and for the first time since she’d met him, it wasn’t just a smirk or a teasing grin—it was something full of hope, something genuine.
Then, without another word, he leaned down and kissed her.
The moment his lips met hers, the world outside—the cheers, the bells, the war that had just ended—ceased to exist.
Lando kissed her like he had waited his whole life to do it, like he had been holding it back for weeks, months, maybe even longer. His hands cupped her face, rough and warm, his fingers sliding into her hair as he pulled her in like she was the only thing tethering him to the earth.
She gasped against his mouth, barely catching her breath before he kissed her again, deeper this time, more desperate, more real. Her hands clutched at his shirt, fisting the fabric like she needed to hold onto something solid, like if she let go, she might slip away into whatever fever-dream this felt like.
His body was warm against hers, his breath uneven as he pressed her back against the wall, his lips trailing from her mouth to her jaw, then to the hollow of her throat. She shuddered at the feeling, at the way his hands mapped out every inch of her like he wanted to memorise her in case she vanished before his eyes.
She felt alive.
After everything—after loss and grief, after nights spent in silence, after waking up to a world that had been at war for too long—this was the only thing that felt real. This moment, here, with him.
His forehead pressed against hers as he caught his breath, both of them dizzy from the weight of it all. His voice was low, rasping against her lips, breathless and full of something she couldn’t quite name.
"Well, what to do with my life now?" he murmured, his mouth quirking into something like a smirk, "s’pose I’ll just live here then. With my fiancée."
She let out a breathless laugh, her hands still tangled in his shirt. "Oh, will you now?"
"Reckon so." He grinned, but there was something warm and certain behind it. "Would be a bit odd for me to be staying with a woman I’m not engaged to, don’t you think? The people they’ll talk and your reputation. It’ll be ruined."
She raised an eyebrow. "Lando, you do know you never actually asked me, right?"
For a second, he looked taken aback, as if the thought had never even crossed his mind. But then, without hesitation, he stepped back, took her right hand in his, and before she could say another word—
He dropped onto one knee.
Her breath caught in her throat, her heart hammering wildly as she watched him, watched the way his fingers gently pried the ring from her right hand and held it between them.
His eyes found hers, and for the first time, there was no teasing, no bravado—just Lando, raw and real, looking at her like she was the only thing that had ever mattered.
"I haven’t got a real ring," he said, voice quiet, steady, "not yet, anyway. But I’ll get one. I swear it." He swallowed, his thumb brushing against the band between his fingers. "I’ll find a job—something stable. I could go to school, or work at Billy’s pharmacy, or whatever pays enough to get us something real, something good. And then..."
He took a breath, his lips quirking up into a lopsided smile.
"Then, if you’ll have me, I’ll marry you proper. But for now, all I can do is ask."
He reached for her left hand, slipping the ring onto her finger where it belonged.
"So what d’you reckon, sweetheart?" His voice was softer now, his eyes never leaving hers. "Marry me?"
She stared at him, her chest tightening, her whole body light and heavy all at once.
And then, with the weight of the war finally lifting, with the streets outside alive with celebration, and with the man she loved on his knee before her—
She nodded.
"Yes," she breathed, tears pricking at her eyes. "Yes, Lando."
And before he could even stand, she threw herself at him, kissing him again like she would never stop.
the end.

⛥゚・。 perfect match: chapter one
chapter synopsis: ten singles are brought to a villa on a tropical island in order to find their special someone. they'll go through challenges, heart throbs, and heartbreaks, but only one couple will be named the perfect match. who will win it all? who will be sent packing? stay tuned to... PERFECT MATCH!
cw: modern au, mature themes, innuendos, drinking, parties, nudity, profanity, sports, slight character changes, etc.

"God, I'm gonna regret this..." you muttered to yourself, swiping strand of hair from your face as you entered the villa, slightly glancing at the camera man trailing not to far away.
Carefully, you stepped down the lip, the light clack of your heels echoing throughout the seemingly empty house, your heart rate spiking with each step.
You knew your nerves were showing, as embarrassing as it was, and you knew that you'd have to get yourself together before you met the others.
Taking a deep breath, you re-centered yourself, adjusting the bust of your dress and straightening up your posture in an effort to exude at least some sort of confidence.
Though you still felt like barfing into the nearest trashcan.
"Hello!" you smiled, walking through the entrance to the backyard as you waved. "I hope I'm not the last one."
"(y/n)! Glad to see you could make it!"
You turned to the source of the voice, only to find a familiar looking man known for his friendliness, his warm grin directed toward you.
The one and only Soul King, beloved celebrity and host of Perfect Match International.
Behind him, an attractive group of singles were mingling, getting to know each other with fruity drinks in hand.
'Shit. I'm already behind...'
Discreetly, you took another deep breath, adjusting that same unruly strand.
"Yohohoho! The rest of your fellow contestants are getting familiar down below. I suggest you hop to it and get to joining them," he took your hand in his, carefully helping you down the rest of the steps. "And make sure you're matched up by the end of the night!"
Your brows flattened, slightly.
'Easier said than done...'
You gave him a nod of acknowledgement, before finally touching down on the grass, quickly rushing over to the bar to get something to calm your nerves.
Leaning against the counter, your nose twitched, your entire body abuzz with jitters.
You auditioned for the show on a dare made by your friend while she was half-drunk, and not once during the entire process did you think you were actually going to make it on.
But now here you were, your first time on a reality show alongside what looked to be nothing but absolute tens.
It'd be a lie if you said you weren't intimidated, and it took a whole lot to intimidate you.
So you kept your exterior cool and collected, hoping you came off assertive and unbothered despite the uncomfortable churn in your stomach.
And while you couldn't see it, the men of the villa took notice almost instantly, marveling at the woman that just strutted in.
You gave the bartender a thankful nod as he handed you the house special, which looked suspiciously like a tequila sunrise, before taking a tentative sip, your shoulders sinking slightly at the sweet taste.
Like citrus-spiced strawberries.
"It's good, right?" an airy voice smiled, sliding into the spot beside you.
Curious, you turned to it, only to find a girl with clear, freckled fair skin and beautiful brown eyes.
"I've already had three. At this rate I'll be face down under a table before I match tonight."
You chuckled, her atmosphere easing the tension of your shoulders ever so slightly.
Despite just meeting, she had a way about her that made the air feel lighter, and suddenly freer to speak in.
"I'd settle for that over this," you sighed, resting your cheek in your palm, "I swear I think they made some mistake putting me here."
Her brow quirked in curiosity, "Why do you say that?"
You scoffed, almost disbelieving of your circumstances.
"I've never been on any kind of TV show before... let alone one as highly viewed as this..."
"Girl, you gotta shake off those jitters!" she grinned, giving you a soft, little hip bump, "It doesn't matter how much of a celebrity you are. You're here surrounded by sexy men and strong liquor, so leave that other stuff behind and have a good time!"
You turned to her, hesitant, fiddling with the ring on your thumb.
"Really?"
"Yes, really!" she chuckled, "And looking the way you do, I'm pretty sure you could have any one of these guys following you back up to your room."
Your face flared at the compliment, completely taken by surprise, but you played it off with a coy laugh, hiding your smile by taking a sip of your drink.
"You're just sayin' that," you waved off, snickering at her dramatic gasp.
"You don't believe me?" she raised a brow, a determined smile on her face as she turned toward the others, eyes scanning over the small crowd, "In that case, walk up to any guy you want and strike up a conversation. I promise you he will be asking you to match by the end of it."
You scoffed, shaking your head with a grin, amused by her absurd request, "I think those drinks are startin' to hit."
"Maybe. But that's beside the point," she assured, running a manicured hand through her hair, "C'mon, what's the harm in it? I think your chances of coupling up tonight would be ten times higher if you stopped talking to me and started mingling with a hottie."
With a sigh, you turned to look over all the men, noticing a few eyes already on you, watching intently.
"You sure?" you asked, a little intimidated.
This was so far out of your comfort zone, you'd need GPS to navigate back.
"A hundred percent," she nodded, resting an encouraging hand on your shoulder, "This whole setup may be a little overwhelming, but fake it 'til you make it. The confidence will come naturally with time."
Your gaze slowly shifted to a little farther in the distance, what looked to be a head of scruffy, green hair sitting on a couch not too far away, fiddling with the threads on the armrest.
"Just start small. Maybe a guy who looks a little more nervous."
'He's perfect!'
A small grin stretched on your face, eyes locking on the poor man.
From his demeanor, he looked like he would rather be anywhere in the world.
Just the practice you needed.
"I'm goin' in," you steeled yourself, gulping down the rest of your drink before picking up a new one, heading over to his seat.
"Good luck!" she sang, a curly-haired man with a particularly long nose already swooping in to take your spot.
And despite the slight oomph you put in your step, the walk toward the mystery man still felt like eons.
Not only that, but your body felt as if it was going through the five stages of grief, wanting to vomit, scream, and run for the hills all the same time.
But you held strong, and as you drew nearer, you were finally able to focus in on his features.
And just like that, all air left your lungs.
'Holy shit...'
He was absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous.
Now that you were closer, you could see that he was huge, about six feet of pure muscle, with a jaw carved out of stone and steel gray eyes that could bare into your soul, and even beyond that, with just a simple glance.
It was nothing short of a miracle that you were able to keep your cool.
"This seat taken?" your sultry voice rang through the space space between you two, "I was hoping we could have a chat."
His brows furrowed at the remark.
He figured sitting off to the side would make his intentions, or lack thereof, quite clear.
Annoyed, he lifted his head, eye landing on your figure as you emerged from the faint blue lighting, widening at the sight as your hips swayed from side to side.
Long (h/c) hair, plump lips, heavenly curves made evident by your dress draped over your luscious, curvaceous body that exposed the delicious plump of your thighs.
You paired the outfit with some cute, wedged heels, which he bet barely made you taller than him if he were to stand up.
The lights illuminated your skin and glossed lips, which curled into a smile when you caught sight of him.
You were dripping in beauty and danger.
Zoro, so mesmerized, didn't even realize you had already arrived, and were now standing directly in front of him, drink in hand.
"Everyone else is off doin' their own thing, so I figured I'd get to know at least one person tonight," you greeted, taking a seat next to him and swiping that same damned strand of hair out your face.
It was almost funny.
You had to tilt your head up slightly to even look the man in the eye.
With a smile, you held out your other hand to shake, "I'm (y/n). S'nice to meet you."
Zoro didn't register a single word.
He could only focus on the way your lips moved as you spoke, enunciating each syllable so smoothly.
Though, when he realized you'd stopped speaking, his eyes found yours, a bashful glow rising to his cheeks.
"Zoro," he grunted out, curtly, returning the gesture.
You felt chills when his hand touched yours to shake, years of hard work evident in his rough, calloused hand, which held yours with the gentlest touch.
Shaking his hand, your eyes came up to meet his once more, his pulling you in like a strong current.
You studied his facial features up close, taking notice of the subtle things you hadn't noted in your first glance.
The slight pink of his smooth lips. Or the faint scar stretching over his closed eye. Or the peek of the stitches at the thin flesh of his collarbone; not that such a tiny detail would be picked up unless one was really looking.
You felt like the handshake was going on for ages, but you didn't want to let go, and deep down, neither did he.
He, too, was studying your face.
And he never wanted to look away.
'The cameras!'
Awkwardly, you cleared your throat, the two of you quickly letting go as warmth rose to your cheeks.
Shaking yourself out of the daze, you went back into confidence mode, ready to take your skills for a test drive.
"So...any reason why you're over here all by yourself?" you started, voice alluring as you turned to the man. "I know I was a little late to the party, but shouldn't you be getting to know the others?"
Your eyes, which looked bigger with your mascara, ticked from each of his eyes to his lips.
He shrugged, jutting a thumb in the direction of the straw-hatted man you had passed earlier, "M'not here by choice."
You turned to the man, raising a brow.
His hair was a deep black—and significantly longer than Zoro's—and his personality seemed to be the complete opposite.
From what you saw, he had talked to everyone—save for you—his award-winning smile never faltering.
He certainly wasn't lacking in the looks department, but you were more of a doberman girl rather than a golden retriever.
You giggled, Zoro's chest stirring at the sound of your breathy, soft laugh.
"Him?" you asked with an amused smile.
"He applied and didn't wanna do it alone. So he forced me along," he grunted, scratching the nape of his neck, "Wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. This isn't really my type of scene."
'What a coincidence...'
"Why are you here?"
"Similar reason. Me and my friend got drunk on a Friday night and she dared me to sign up," you answered, sheepishly. "Didn't think I'd actually get in though. And when I did she wouldn't let me back out."
He bit his cheek to fight off the slight smile threatening to rise on his lips.
You were downright adorable.
He grumbled a chuckle, looking down at your lips then back to your eyes, "Watching you I didn't think you'd be a party girl."
"So you've been watching me?" you cocked a brow, a small smirk curling on your glossy lips.
But he played it off, taking your question in stride.
"Guess you're right... wouldn't be the only one, though," he shrugged.
Now your brow was to the roof.
"Whaddya mean by that?"
His breath hitched.
Zoro wasn't one to give compliments.
Shit, he didn't even know how to without sounding like a complete asshole.
And as much as he played the aloof, heart-of-stone, tough guy, he didn't want you to see him as that.
You were too sweet.
So he told you the truth.
"You've got everyone watchin' you."
'Did that sound creepy? That sounded creepy. Fuck.'
But he kept talking.
"Your dress, your jewelry... you're a beautiful woman."
He was digging himself in a hole now.
You laughed, light and fluttery, the smile that rose to your lips filling him with butterflies, "That's really sweet. I didn't think you'd be like this."
He frowned, cheeks warming at sweet.
He wasn't sweet... was he?
"What did you think I'd be like?"
You hummed as if you were thinking.
"Smart gym bro. Y'know, the guy who lists his stats and gains and makes it seem like I'm lucky to even be near him while trying to educate me on things I already know."
He cringed, but knew that he was indeed lucky to be talking to you, "Well, I got stats if you want 'em. I can bench press four hundred and—" a smile sprouted on his lips at yours, your hands waving in the air for him to stop.
"See, now that's not sweet. No need to brag, I can already tell you work out."
"You can tell?" he rubbed his jaw to dull his grin, his comment working when your eyes flicked down to his neck, biceps, and chest.
"Well...yeah. You're very... built."
"I'll take it."
"You got a pretty face, too. Long eyelashes, full cheeks, strong jaw. Perfect mix of everything. And nice eyes, too."
You swore you weren't rambling, but he called you beautiful and you called him built and those drinks were starting to get to you.
Zoro froze for half a second before gulping down the rest of his sake, hoping he wouldn't get burpy.
He was trying so hard not to blush, but it wasn't everyday that he was complimented on his face—usually his body.
"If you're tryin' to get me in your bed it's workin'."
You gasped, shock sliding on your face as you chuckled at his statement.
This Adonis of a man was getting flustered by you?
You chewed the inside of your cheek, settling in the comfortable silence for a moment before speaking up.
"If you wanna end up in my bed one of these nights you know where to find me."
That was his last straw.
He hadn't mingled with a single soul the entire night—save for you—and despite that, he knew he already liked you ten thousand times more than them.
So you know what?
'Fuck it.'
"And what would you say if I match with you tonight? I'd already be there," Zoro asked, you trying not to faint on the spot.
Fuck mingling, you were gonna get to know this man real well.
"I'd say yes and lead the way."

I love your “not just friends” series🥹 im obsessed! Im hoping to see more I love it soooooooooooo muchhhh!!!!!!! Even telling my friends to read it
But I saw a bakugo headcanon by another anon about him having a crush which I wanna add a spin on, what if he rejected this said crush back in middle school but developed feelings after xD I find it funny
Thank you !!! I'm glad you enjoy it so much!
And that is literally Katsuki Bakugo, can't see him not doing it tbh. (This was also a lot longer then I planned for it to be- I just started typing and here we are- 1k)
He isn't confused about a lot of things in life but his feelings definitely stump him. He tries to analyze other people and how they react to people, but the dots just don't connect. He hears people rave on and on about how cute their crush is, but he just doesn't get it.
It's not that he hasn't been introduced to it either. I mean, it's middle school. Everyone is crazy about dating someone even if it's just to hold their stupid hand. Bakugo didn't get it, he honestly didn't want to get it. Sure he wanted to understand it, but only so he could know a weakness or some shit. He didn't want the gushy feelings or anything such.
Rejecting girl after girl was normal for him, people just loved how great he was. But after the first year of middle school that stopped. Mainly because of how rudely he rejected every girl in the past, but also because of you.
You got extremely close with him rather quickly, working your way into his life and friend groups. It was rare to see you away from each other.
Yet when you confessed to him in your last year of middle school, he stood still. It was the only confession he hesitated on. And while you swayed on your feet, anxious for a reply, he tried to cough up any words possible.
But the only ones that came out were. "You're not special."
In the most blunt way possible, he crushed your dreams. With the way he was looking at you, it was like he couldn't fathom the thought that you thought you were good enough for him, different than all the other girls. So you choked up any spiteful things you wanted to say and nodded before walking off.
He didn't necessarily like you then, but the thought didn't seems gross. So when he watched you walk away, he shrugged it off. You'd talk to him tomorrow definitely.
When tomorrow came and went, he was waiting for you to show up by his side at any second. But of course, you never did. You waited a day before showing up to class, but when you did you stuck near your other friends.
It stayed that way too. You only nodded at him after you finished middle school, a small final goodbye.
So it was rather unfortunate that one of your friends happened to be Izuku. It was a hard-built friendship, but he's very forgiving.
You came and visited the dorms often, encouraged by his mother to help him get by easier.
Bakugo hated it, you never even looked his way.
When he googled his feelings he didn't want to believe the words typed on his screen. It was all saying he was jealous. He'd never been jealous of anything, especially nothing Deku had.
Eventually, Kirishima pointed it out, commenting on the glare he was giving Midoriya. He also called him out the next day, when he kept glaring despite you not being there.
The day he cracked was after he fought Deku, after being yelled out by Aizawa he and Deku were told to wait.
Bakugo mentioned your name in a mumble at first before Deku questioned it. "She like you or some shit?"
"What?!"
"You fuckin' heard me," he spat back.
"No!" Deku scrambled for a reason. He knew you had a crush on Bakugo before, but you haven't mentioned it in a while, "Do you?"
"Do I like you?!"
"NO! HER!"
Bakugo's aggression faded as he thought. Everyone was saying that. Kirishima, his dad, and now Deku. He gave a small shrug because he was unsure.
"She still asks about you," Deku decided to say, rather than poke the bear.
"Hm."
"Wanting to know if you're okay. After the sludge, and after.. well you know," Deku mumbled.
The door opened before anything else could be said, but even if it didn't, they both knew the conversation was over.
Feeling the commonly named butterflies in his stomach, at just the thought of you thinking of him still, was odd. It was an entirely new feeling. After googling, once again, he came to terms with the fact that he finally felt all the gushy feelings that everyone else got in middle school. The ones you used to have for him, hopefully still do.
He still waited a year to act on his conclusion first. But he still slowly tried to weave his way back into your life. Choosing to sit next to you when you visited, to othering you the remote.
Everything was without words for a while. Almost a year in he was forced to talk to you often. All conversations being awkward and strained.
Confessing was a different story, it was the last day you could visit before it was officially summer break before the second year. Everyone was all sat around watching TV, people leaving before they got too tired. Surprisingly, Bakugo and you were the last people in the living room. He didn't want to miss a second of your presence because he knew he couldn't see you during summer. He was so glad Aizawa let you stay late.
His head snapped away from the TV when you stretched to stand, silently grabbing your stuff.
"What are you doing?" he spoke before thinking.
You looked stunned, he never talked to you without you talking first, "It's late, I should go. Plus is it not past your bedtime?"
He glared at your joke before looking at the clock. It was 2:54a.m, you asked him out at 2:54 p.m in middle school.
"Do you still?"
"What?" you switched your weight onto one foot, crossing your arms confused.
"In middle school," he sighed, "do you still?"
"You're gonna have to be more specific."
"Have feelings and shit."
He still wasn't looking at you, but out of the corner of his eyes, he could see how you froze.
"I don't know how that's relevant," you huffed, embarrassed and annoyed that he'd be so cruel to bring up the rejection again.
"I do."
"Do what? Know how it's relevent? Of course you do, it's your brain-"
"Have feelings and shit," he mumbled, crossing his arms at how irated you sounded. He was finally making his move and you seemed pissed as hell.
You barked out a laugh, muffling it with your own hand, "You can't think I'm that stupid, right?"
"I'm being serious," he looked at you straight on for the first time. He was always easiest to read when you could see his eyes, and he looked nervous. Out of all the emotions you've seen on him, this wasn't one.
"Oh."
He sighed and looked down, "Don't gotta say anything, you can spend the night in the common room. No one will care," he pushed himself off the couch, turning to leave.
"Bakugo," you called out softly.
"Hm?"
"I might," your voice was shaky, "but I need to think about it. Know that you're not fucking with me or something."
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Okay. Take your time. You have my number."

Wrong Number 1
Eddie kept up a texting chain with Steve while making himself a breakfast of coffee and cereal. He hadn't felt like this in a long time. Not since, well, when he thought of it when he was a teenager up all night in chat rooms and forums. When you found someone who you just clicked with.
[11:30] Any advice on how to fry an egg with a perfectly runny yolk?
(11:32) You like runny yolks??? 🤢 (11:33) It's scrambled or nothing for me (11:33) Cant help ya even if I wanted to
[11:35] I just want an egg on my avo toast
Normally Robin fried the eggs for breakfast. Her yolks were always perfect. But unlike Steve, she'd actually scored last night and was still with whoever she'd gone home with last night.
Eddie couldn't help but roll his eyes at the cliche. A guy who jogged and then came back home for some avocado toast with an egg on top? He just had to let his stance be known.
(11:35) Next ur gonna tell me bout your acai smoothie bowl rite? (11:36) Avo toast? Really???
Steve realized how he was coming off and had to quickly amend it.
[11:38] It's not what you think! We only got the avocados to make some guac the other day. There was one left and I wanted to use it before it went bad. And I'm all guac'd out. Hence the toast.
(11:39) At least you didn't use the avocado to make like ice cream or some shit
Finished with his own, normal, regular, average citizen breakfast, Eddie cleared his place and started to actually get ready for the day. His shift went from 2 to 10 tonight, so he needed to prepare for the long haul.
While brushing his teeth, getting dressed, and making something for his lunch later, he and Steve kept up the texts. Through their conversation he found out Steve's favorite ice cream (peanut butter), that he could cook eggs just about any way except sunny side up, and that he lived with a roommate named Robin.
Eddie got to his place of work and in a place like that you need to have some semblance of focus and attention, so he told Steve he had to get to work. He realized he was basically saying 'busy now, text you later?' to a stranger he'd only started talking to last night. Steve was completely in his rights to end the conversation there.
He could've ended it at any time really. What obligation did he have to keep on talking to him?
[2:01] Okay. Talk to you later
Steve stared at the message, already in the middle of agonizing over it when Robin finally came through the door of their apartment.
"Good afternoon. I wanna feel offended that I didn't get any texts or calls asking if I'm okay but I'm gonna choose to think it means you trust me and are a great judge of character."
For the first time in a while, Steve checked the time and actually realized how long it had been.
"Shit, Robs, I'm sorry." It had been over 12 hours and he hadn't checked in on her. All because he'd been texting a random number. "So you had a good time?"
Steve had been sitting on the couch and Robin plopped right down, laying her head in his lap.
"It was magical. Like something out of a movie."
"Aren't you glad I made you go and talk to her?", Steve smiled smug.
Robin smushed his face with her hands with a groan. "Don't look at me like that. You were right, okay? Me and her hit it off like, like uh, one of your sports metaphors."
"Robin you were in a soccer league just last year, stop acting like you don't know sports."
"Anyway, something grand must've kept your attention off me. Things go well with that girl you were talking to?"
"Umm, yeah."
Robin sat up, eyes narrowing. "And you came back here with her? Gross! Steve! Did you do it on the couch?!" She shot up immediately.
"I didn't", Steve rolled his eyes.
It was one of their main rules. No sex in the common areas of the apartment. Steve wasn't gonna tell her about the wrong number given to him. And he especially wasn't going to tell her he kept talking to it. The following lecture would have been unbearable.
"She gave me her number and we've just been texting back and forth."
Robin slowly sat back down on the couch. "Just texting? That's all you did?"
"That's all."
"Wow. You usually move faster than that."
"Well, I want something a little more this time. But enough about my snail pace romance. Let's talk about you and that girl, what was her name?"
He and Robin sat a long while, talking about her night, eventually going out for lunch together too. Not-Misty had said they were at work, but Steve couldn't help himself when he saw that Robin had ordered a burger with avocado on it and Steve had gotten a taco salad that came with, you guessed it, avocado.
[3:14] image.jpeg [314] Okay me and Robin might have a problem. But I swear it's not on purpose!
"Did you just send a picture of our lunch to someone?", Robin asked.
"Yeah to uh, to Misty. We were talking about avocados earlier and I figured she'd get a kick out of it."
Robin smiled through her chewing. She teased but she was glad that her friend had made a connection last night.
Meanwhile, Eddie saw the message, but didn't have a chance to reply, even on his lunch break. Through all the texting, he had forgotten to charge his phone, so it was on the plug and he was leaving it alone for now while he talked to his co-worker, Grant. He went through the rest of his shift, thinking about Steve.
What did he look like? How old was he? Where did he live?
He got off and made his way back home, stopping off somewhere to get dinner. It was a sandwich shop and he honestly contemplated getting avocado on his just to see Steve's reaction but he resisted.
'I can't be that down bad that I'm overthinking food now', he thought to himself.
When he got back home, he turned the tv on and took out his phone to reply to Steve right away.
(10:31) Back at home now (10:32) Work was crazy (10:34) And the 1st step to recovery is admitting u have a problem (10:36) But thru hard work we can get you addicted to a sensible veggie (10:37) Like broccoli
He thought since he kept Steve waiting for so long it might take some time for a reply to come, but his phone pinged almost immediately.
[10:39] First of all, avocado is a fruit. Second, I eat plenty of other vegetables. And third, what happened at work?
(10:41) It may be a fruit but I dont want it in my smoothie (10:42) And some guy came in and started throwing axes at the wall
Sunday evenings were usually more relaxed. It was why Eddie typically didn't work Friday or Saturday nights unless he needed some extra cash or they needed someone on deck.
[10:44] Hold the duck up someone was throwing axes!! [10:44] *duck [10:45] *FUCK
Eddie snickered through his eating and had to take a moment to swallow before something came up. He always enjoyed telling people what he did for a living.
(10:46) Cool your jets man (10:47) I work at an axe throwing range (10:48) The problem with this dude was he didn't have an appointment (10:48) Just came in and started throwing an axe at the wall
[10:50] Are you okay? That sounds dangerous
(10:50) My uncle handled it (10:51) Eventually the dude left
[10:52] Oh wow. Well I'm glad you're okay. Axe throwing tho. What an interesting job for someone of your age? 🤷
Steve was lying in bed and he buried his face into his pillow as he sent it with the shrug emoji. It was so transparent, he knew it. But he needed to have a better idea of who he was talking to. That way when Robin did eventually find out, he'd be able to tell her something, anything.
(10:53) Smooth (10:53) I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours
Eddie knew now was the time to be cautious. But he was also curious as to how much Steve would tell him and just what he wanted to know. He wasn't disappointed.
[10:54] Male, 23, 5'11
It was like the bare minimum of information and yet Eddie was already aggressively tamping down any hope that he might have a chance. Without his permission, hope bubbled up anyway
(10:55) Male, 24 going on 25, also 5'11
Steve stared at the text with the mystery person, mystery man's information. It seemed like so little and yet so much. He still hadn't an idea of what he looked like. But now he could at least get a general silhouette.
(10:56) Ur not one of those guys who lies about his height are you?
[10:57] Robin says my hair gives me two inches but she has no idea what she's talking about.
Eddie was thinking about how Steve must wear his hair. It could be in a sizeable pompadour, or maybe a nice afro. Maybe it was in a bun all the time? That was not what he typed out however.
(10:59) You know what they say (10:59) It's not the size but what u do with it
Okay this was it. This was where Steve stopped texting him. You can't just say that to guys you don't know-ping!
Eddie bit his lip and only had one eye open as he looked at Steve reply, preparing for the worst.
[11:01] Oh I know how to use my inches
Eddie dropped his phone onto the table and had to get up and pace, touch his face, his hair, throwing his hands in the air. Was this flirting? This felt like flirting. He wished he knew for sure. Maybe it was the lack of emoji. Had Steve put a winking face, he'd know for certain. Eddie leaned against his fridge, staring at his phone, sitting innocently on the table.
On the other side, Steve was burying his face into his pillow, pretending he didn't just say that. Would it come off as playful? As flirty? As casual? Should he have sent a wink? The seconds ticked and it felt too late. Like coughing after saying something awkward.
God, he was so desperate. Why was he even still texting? He had work in the morning. He should start preparing for bed so he had any hope of getting up on time. Steve pushed off the bed and went to his closet when he heard the notification sound and instantly returned.
(11:05) Let's get out the measuring tape (11:05) image.jpeg
Steve felt his heart skip a beat. The picture attached was of the very top of mystery man's head. He was holding up a lock of long, curly hair into the air. Steve studied the picture like he was getting paid to do it. He couldn't see any lower than the bangs on his forehead but there was still plenty to see.
The rings on his fingers for one, how his curls went this way and that. Steve quickly saved it and then replied with a similar pose, holding some hair by the fingers as far as it would go above his head.
[11:07] image.jpeg [11:08] I think you have me beat
They texted for about an hour more before Steve finally decided to be an adult and put himself to sleep, bidding mystery man good night.
Part 3
Fun fact, years ago I worked at an axe throwing place and yes, what happened to Eddie did in fact happen to me! On like my first week too I think

♡ Give me your sound, making your song going loud... ♡ (pt. 2)
Contents: WLW, Guitarist!Se-mi x Singer!R
Warnings: none!
Part 1

After you woke up, you showered really fast. You put on a pink crop top, a short black skirt, pink boots, a black hat, pink sunglasses and a pink with black bag. You put on some makeup and stylize your hair. You were really nervous because of today's results (and seeing Se-mi again). You grabbed your phone and saw a message in your band's group chat
"Mi-na will pick everyone up at 12 pm."
You applied some perfume and waited for them to come. They picked you up and went to the same place as yesterday to announce the winner.
All the bands stood on stage, nervous. The announcer started naming the bands from least voted to most voted. He ended naming the other places and stopped in the two last places, the finalist, Lost kisses, and The Roselights. He said that they would continue after a break.
You go to the backstage with all the other bands, some of them were leaving disappointed and some others wished you luck. You just sat on a chair and started scrolling nervously through your phone, trying to distract yourself.
Se-mi walked towards you and sat beside you.
"We're both finalists now... I'm glad I have a decent rival"
Rival? Is that what you were to her after what happened yesterday?
"Yeah... Good luck, Se-mi." You said smiling
"I like your smile, I guess that'll be the only good thing about you winning."
You smiled and blushed. How could she be so mean and sweet at the same time?
"You smell nice. What perfume is it?"
"It's a mist... Strawberry pound cake from Bath & Body works."
"Sounds like something that could give me diabetes... But it suits you." She said jokingly.
"Thanks...?"
"Well... good luck, pretty girl" She said before she walked towards her band mates.
"What was that?!" Asked Ji-hye, one of your band mates.
"We were just talking..."
"I hate that bitch, she's always so mean to everyone... She didn't tell you anything bad, did she?"
"No, I'm okay."
"Good, we'll have to be on stage in 5 minutes and prepare to receive our answer... Let's just hope we win... I'll see you there."
Now, you were standing on the stage, nervous, waiting for the answer that could change your whole life
"Thank you to every voter who participated in choosing our next big band! We'll finally tell you who the majority chose... The winner of this competition is..."
You grabbed the hand of your band mate, Mi-na, trying to remain calm. Se-mi seemed very calmed even tho this could change her life too. She even winked at you when the countdown started on the screen.

"Congratulations to The Roselights for winning and becoming Sony Music's next artists!"
You hugged with your band mates, crying, and not believing what was happening right now.
Se-mi just stared codly but gave you a small smirk before leaving the stage with her band.
You felt kinda bad now.
You and your band went backstage after celebrating. You found Se-mi alone again sitting on a chair.
"Congratulations..." She said to all your band. They just ignored her but you didn't.
"Thank you, and I'm sorry..."
"Why would you be sorry?" She said lifting you chin for you to look at her. "Your band was great too, you deserve it."
You smiled and thanked her.
"I need to rest after all this stress, but we should hang out some day."
"That'll be great... Rest well, see you anytime soon."
Se-mi smiled and kissed your hand as a goodbye. Then, she left, leaving you blushed and confused.
"She really is an opportunist" Said your band mate Hye-ju
"What do you mean?" You asked confused.
"I mean... We won and now we're signing with Sony Music, and suddenly she decides to be kind to us after all this time being rude. She's using us, using you to secure a place in this industry... She'll become your friend and then probably will try to ride on your fame after we debut."
"I never thought it that way..." You said thinking about it, it could be right or it could be wrong, but it hurted you.
"You're way too innocent when it comes to seeing through people, ___." Said Hye-ju after grabbing her things. "Are you coming to drink with us to celebrate?"
"No, I'll pass this time. I'm really tired."
"Well, next time it'll be... You must be really tired because you never reject a drinking invitation" She says chuckling as your band mates got into the car.
"I... I am"
You went back to your house thinking about what happened and what Hye-ju said about Se-mi... Was that true? You knew people had sex without giving it a meaning or developing feelings, but the way she took care of you after it was what made you feel butterflies. How she cleaned you up being extremely delicate, how she kissed your forehead after cleaning you up, how she brought you home making sure you arrived safe and sound and how she called you pretty every chance she had... Fuck, you were in love.
Many weeks passed after your band signed with Sony Music and now was working in their debut album under Sony Music.
Your "friendship" with Se-mi got stronger, even tho you still had some doubts on her intentions, you couldn't say no every time she asked you to go to the mall, to a restaurant or to fuck to relieve stress.
This time you were leaving her apartment that she shared with her band mates. She went with you to the elevator and said goodbye to you outside the building. You were walking until you noticed Se-mi's favorite headphones in your bag. You started doubting if you should return it to her now or just wait until the next time you see her. You decided to go back since they were her favorite ones.
You arrived to her apartment door but just when you were about to knock you heard something, something you wish you didn't hear...
I know this is bad, don't remind me 😭🙏
Listen to Cotton Candy by Loossemble btw, that's where the title came from (Promoting my girls)
Promise I'll drop a part 3 soon

This Was the Very First Page, Not Where the Story Line Ends
Summary: You and Mihawk set sail to travel around the world.
Author’s Note: This imagine has dust cause that's how long I've been keeping it in my drafts.

You slowly overcame your fear of the ocean when Mihawk took you to other islands that was only a day or two away. When Mihawk thought you were finally ready, he obtained a medium sized ship to take you out to see the world. You had left your position as a teacher at the school since you weren’t going to be home most of the time now.
“Did you tell your boys yet?” Makino asked you. You wanted to spend time with her before you left since she had been your closest friend for the longest time.
“I’ve written to Luffy since he is the only one who keeps in touch with me.”
“Are you sure you want to go out to the sea?”
“My boys are gone and I’ve fallen hard for Mihawk. I think it’s time for a new adventure.”
“What if Shanks comes back?”
“He’s already too late,” you tell her with a sad smile.
“Ready my love?” Mihawk asked as he walked over to you.
“I’m ready.”
“Have a safe adventure. We’ll always be here for you if you ever want to come back,” Makino tells you as she hugged you tightly.
“I’ll miss you,” you tell her with teary eyes.
“I’ll miss you too. I’m so happy for you for getting over your fear of the sea.”
“Thank you,” you say before pulling away from the hug. "I'll write to you!"
"You better," she says. You both laugh a little before you walked out with Mihawk.
You held Mihawk’s hand as he guided you over to his new ship. It was slightly bigger than his old one but still maintained it's minimal aesthetic.
"Are you nervous?" Mihawk asked you.
"A little," you admitted.
"I'll always protect you."
"I know," you say before giving him a quick kiss.
It took a week before Mihawk sailed you both to a restaurant called the Baratie that was a giant ship in the middle of the ocean. After docking, Mihawk led you inside the restaurant where he gave his name to a host.
You both sat at a table that was nicely set up. The restaurant itself was new to you as you had never experienced anything like it.
“This is really nice, Mihawk,” you complimented.
“Order whatever you want my love. You’ve been doing great for sailing out this far,” Mihawk praised.
“Okay."
As you two enjoyed your meals, you heard loud footsteps walking over to your table.
"Didn't expect you to come back here after what happened last time," you heard. You turned to see a chef with a beard and a wooden leg walk over to your table.
"I'm not here for a fight. I'm here to enjoy a meal with my significant other here before we continue sailing," Mihawk tells him.
"I see. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Captain Zeff. Owner of the Baratie," the chef pirate introduced himself to you.
"It's lovely to meet you as well. Your food is excellent," I tell him.
"I'm glad a new palate likes it," he smiled.
"I feel like I've heard of this place before," you mention.
"Luffy has been here before," Mihawk points out to you.
"He has!" You say, now remembering.
"The young boy with the straw hat?" Zeff asked.
“You know Luffy?” You asked the captain.
"Curly hair. Currently worth thirty million berries?" Zeff asked.
"That's my son!" You say proudly, not caring about his bounty.
“Not the smartest pirate so far but he’s got a good heart. You did a good job in raising him on that,” Zeff tells you with a kind smile.
“I’m just glad he’s following his dreams,” you say.
"Took one of my chefs here. But they'll be good together. Especially with that crew of his," Zeff mentions to you.
"Who knows. Maybe his crew will surpass all of you pirates," you joked.
"I like you. Have a bottle of wine on the house. It'll go great with your meal," Zeff said.
"Oh no. We can't ask for that."
"I insist."
"Only if you're sure," you tell him.
"Let me grab that bottle," Zeff smiled before walking off.
"You truly do have a charm that makes everyone fall for you," Mihawk says.
"I'm just that loveable," you joked.
"And you're all mine," Mihawk smiles.
"All yours," you smile back.
Mihawk took you to a new place at an island with a village by the beach. You had enjoyed the travels as you got to see different places and learn of the different cultures. So when you and Mihawk were by the waters, he felt that the timing was perfect for what he wanted to ask you.
“I’d like for you to live with me,” Mihawk says.
“At your home?” You asked to confirm.
“Yes. I want to take care of you Y/n and I would like for us to have a future together,” Mihawk explains.
“I'd like that."
“Good. But before we go to our home, I have one important question.”
“What is it?”
Mihawk pulled out a ring from his jacket and got on one knee. Your eyes widen in shock as you stared at Mihawk.
“Will you do me the honors and become my wife?”
You felt like time froze around you.
“Of course I will,” you say nodding. Mihawk smiled softly as he stood up. Mihawk slipped the ring onto your finger before cupping your cheeks and kissing you.
"I need to tell my boys!" You tell him.
"And you will. Let's just enjoy this between us for now," Mihawk says.
"Okay," you nodded. You kissed him once more before leading him over to the inn you were both staying at for the night.
