give me peace (in a lifetime of war) 5/15
Chapter 5: there's something lonesome about you (I slithered here from Eden)
“Start with one thing and go from there.” she suggests gently, hands outstretched as she comes to stand next to him. “What's one thing you want?” Want. Someone, what doesn’t he want? Sometimes at his core Crowley believes he’s nothing more than a mess of wanting, from the easy to demonically justify–fast cars, wine, a bit of mischief–to the much more nebulous and unlikely. What does he want? He wants answers to his questions. He wants Aziraphale to be safe and happy and free. He wants to wake up in the morning and feel at ease again, a feeling he hasn’t felt in so long he’s not sure he’s ever known it. It’s the type of feeling that allows you to breathe deeply, that settles in your soul and lets you know that no matter what you belong, that you have a… “A home.” The words bubble softly over from the spiral of his thoughts and slip past his lips before he can stop them.

SKULL ANON I'M SURE YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND IT IS YOUR *RIGHT* TO BE HAPPY ABOUT IT ( ˘ ³˘)♥ ( ˘ ³˘)♥ ( ˘ ³˘)♥ Also soulmate anon! Is the hint the part where Katie's like "the prince gets trapped in the tower"? also also lia, how about 5, (lowkey wanna ask 7 and 8 but I'm pretty sure they're both Remy) 9 for whatever your longest WIP is, 10, 16, 17, 22, 24, 25, 26, and 30. I believe in you! ((also cubed the story's typed but I'm not sure about one part so Imma submit it for you to judge it))
So I’mma answer these before writing, but for my memory’s sake, Triple Kiss you have sentenced me to a fate of at least 10 sentences! I mean my thanks both sarcastically and genuinely.
5- Do you write when you travel?  If so, where is the farthest away from home that you’ve written?I keep reading this as ‘time travel’ and keep getting confused sfhjgvjxd. But I do write away from home when I have access to wifi! That’s... not too many places, tho, so the furthest place is all of, like... three hours from my house, heh.
9- How long is your current work in progress (words or pages)? So, the question techincally askes my current one, which is sitting at about three and a half pages at mo’. As for my straight-up, longest of all time WIP (like you asked for) that would be... 66 pages (disclaimer: this is an OLD fic of mine that I wrote in 11 instead of 12 like I do now, so if I made it 12, it’d be closer to 100)
10- Do you have a specific philosophy that you go by when you write?I guess I kinda do? Not really though. But I do try to right with a sort of ‘just do it’ attitude in mind. If I like an idea, I should just write it, and make sure it fits the tone. But uh... I don’t think that really counts so eh.
16- Do you write on a computer or on paper?  What program, or what type or paper/pen?Computer, baby! My hand cramps too easily with writing it out, so I rarely do. Plus, I really need spellcheck. And I normally just work on google docs!
17- Is there a specific category or genre your writings generally fall into?  Which? Is gay a category? ...Jokes aside, as you’ll notice, I really don’t have a certain genre. I write whatever I feel like, and whatever I feel like varies. A lot. I guess I write in the real world a decent amount, but I have so many AUs it’s not even fun that aren’t real world at all.
22- Do you listen to music when you write?Almost always! I love jamming while I work, and 9 out of 10 times I need the distraction, heh. The only exceptions are when I’m watching a telly show/movie/etc, or when it’s really late at night. I work well at night for some reason (plus can’t be playing music when I’m supposed to be sleebing, heh)
24- Do you prefer first or third person?  Why?I prefer third. In fanfic, I just feel weird putting myself in the eyes of the character (there’s nothing wrong with it, of course, just... I don’t know. feels odd), and in original fiction I just love being an omniscient BITCH.Young me wrote a lot of 1st person though. Young me was fucking hilarious tho so she gets a pass.
25- How do you defeat writers’ block?Uh. Uhhhhh. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I...… don’t?That’s not fair, I do have methods; writing in Discord when someone’s watching (the muse likes to preform for others) or just pushing through until I hit inspiration again. But normally I just like.... don’t write until I feel like it again....Maybe this is why I have so many abandoned WIPs...
26- How often do you write?A LOT actually. I try to do it every day, though that doesn’t always fall through, so sometimes it ends up as once every three days or so.
30- What’s your favorite part about writing?Oh... there’s so many things I could list here. The people I’ve met through writing, the worlds I’ve created, the ideas I’ve had that have positively affected my real life.I’mma have to go with the confidence it’s given me, though. I’m... not the most social person in real life, if any of y’all are surprised. Not great with words that I haven’t rehearsed a million times. But writing? Be it fictional, an essay, poetry, I’ve found that- despite my common self-doubt- I am a good writer. People like my writing. They compliment it. I get good points in class for them. People like my work! There’s a lot of confidence that can come with that knowledge, I’ve found, both in how I interact with y’all and how I act in real life, and it’s been making me a happier person.
