Riddle had initially been thrilled to be paired with you for the history project.

You were competent, diligent, and respected deadlines — a rare combination at NRC. Working alongside you was... pleasant, even calming, a sharp contrast to the usual chaos of Heartslabyul.

You would share notes, summarize chapters neatly, and double-check the requirements without him even needing to prompt you. Riddle found himself looking forward to study sessions, mind buzzing not just with textbooks, but the warm thought of how well you worked together.

“They’re so dependable. Such good habits... maybe—maybe I should invite them for tea next time.”

But it wasn’t long before he noticed something... odd.

During a break, while sipping tea he had insisted on brewing properly (“Sloppily made tea reflects a sloppy mind,” he said sternly), he asked in casual conversation, "So. What field do you intend to specialize in after graduation?"

You blinked at him, head tilting in that innocent, peaceful way you did.

"Hm? I dunno. Haven't really thought about it," you said, chewing on a cookie thoughtfully. "I'll figure it out later, maybe."

Riddle stared at you like you had sprouted horns.

"Y-you haven't thought about it?!"

You smiled serenely, resting your chin on your palm.

"Nope. As long as I'm doing okay right now, it's fine."

Riddle nearly dropped his teacup.

“No long-term plan? No ambitions? No charted career path?!”

He tried to cover his shock with a polite cough.

"Ahem. W-well, it is critical to set objectives and milestones to ensure steady personal growth," he said, words tumbling over each other. "I would be happy to assist you in making a detailed five-year plan—"

You just gave him that sweet, blissfully vacant smile. "Maybe someday! Thanks though, Riddle!"

Riddle sat stiffly in his chair, clutching his teacup as a vein throbbed in his temple.

“They're so efficient now, but they're... they're drifting like an unmoored boat! A brilliant, hardworking boat with no rudder! How is this happening?!”

He spent the rest of the project trying very, very hard not to think about how he found your aimless serenity oddly... endearing. Infuriating. But endearing.

Azul knew right away he was lucky when you were assigned as his partner for the class project.

You were attentive, methodical, and didn’t slack off — the dream partner. He thought to himself, “If only more students had such discipline, Mostro Lounge’s financial reports wouldn’t give me migraines...”

You even handled the trickier parts of the research without complaint. Azul was impressed.

“Efficient. Cooperative. Excellent work ethic. Perfect for building an empire together... Wait. No. Focus, Azul.”

He started to entertain the notion that you might be someone he could genuinely trust—a terrifying but strangely exciting thought.

So during a quieter moment at the Lounge after polishing up your project proposal, he asked, casual but calculating:

"And... what are your future plans? You strike me as someone who could achieve quite a lot if you applied yourself."

You twirled a straw idly in your drink, legs swinging lightly under the table.

"Future plans? Hm... Nah. I’m just kinda going along. I’ll figure something out when I have to."

Azul's smile froze for a fraction of a second.

"You... don't have a strategy? Or even a preliminary outline of your goals?"

You smiled brightly.

"Nope!"

Inside, Azul shrieked.

On the outside, he adjusted his glasses, masking the horror behind a tight, businesslike smile.

"I... see. How... refreshingly spontaneous."

But in his mind, it was chaos.

“No ambition?! No hustle?! No grand designs for success and power?! How can someone so competent lack the drive to leverage it?!”

Every fiber of his being itched to offer you a job at Mostro Lounge, start you on a 12-year plan, sign you up for five internships, and drag you bodily toward greatness.

But you just smiled and went back to doodling something random on the margins of your paper like you hadn’t just shattered his worldview.

Still... as much as it made his head spin, Azul couldn't deny it was... weirdly comforting to be around you.

Maybe it was nice, once in a while, to sit across from someone who didn’t constantly scheme and scramble. Someone content with now.

It drove him insane.

But he kept finding excuses to study with you anyway.

it's ironic because i actually dropped out of university* last year because my stats class was stressing me out too much (among other things) so i'm trying very hard not to act like i am an Expert Statistician, because it's a complicated thing. but i loooooooove making charts and asking people questions and comparing things. Maybe someday i'll be able to go back and learn more about statistics (or get a refresher at least)

It's been frustrating trying to get this survey to break out of my corner & try and get past any potential bias people around me might have (since I really like the name Haze, and so do many of my friends). Especially since I only have discord, tumblr, and a very neglected bluesky lol. I'm a little sad that i'm not allowed to share the survey link in the official discord :( but I was allowed to ask people and write down their responses! Unfortunately though, conversation moves really fast there so I didn't get to collect very many responses.

My numbers may not be perfect, but i love playing with them anyways!!

That I want to try: Parappa the Rapper!

I've never played, but I probably should play the game that potentially started the entire genre at some point, right?

That I miss playing: Groove Coaster

My dear departed baby. Yes I know there's a Nintendo Switch version but there's nothing really like the feeling of playing on an arcade cabinet. I played this for over 3 years, and it's where I really got my rhythm game chops. I remember when I first started I could barely play 4s and 5s.

This game is how I met my bf of over 7 years now! It's also where we first saw undertale songs on a rhythm game, and it was such a perfect fit. I will still forever be salty about grinding for 30+ hours on the first undertale event and then getting 51st place, 1 away from the highest tier.

Sadly, Groove Coaster is one of the games where I am held back from being as good as my other experienced peers due to the stamina requirements it has, so I never quite reached peak performance.

I still occasionally visit Round1 and play it, but Round1 is expensive and doesn't really offer a lot of the games I really like, but maybe if they get a MaiMai DX cabinet, that'll change.

That I first ever played: Stepmania

I guess technically I played DDR first, but I don't count random times playing at random arcades every couple of weeks. Stepmania is where I got my start, and I even used to design a few songs on there! I never got particularly good, but back before a lot of copyright bullshit happened, bemanistyle was such a cool place to play every type of song imaginable.

That I think is cool: Lanota

I just really love the vibe, music, and system of Lanota. It's got a really unique soundtrack with a heavier focus on orchestral tracks (though obviously it has its fair share of hardcore electronic too), the feeling of swishing across those blue notes is always satisfying, and the way the game plays with the area where you hit notes is always super fun and cool.

My all-time favorite: Groove Coaster

It might not be the best system ever, but I have too many good memories for this to not be my all time favorite. Maybe when MaiMai DX comes to the states it'll be un-seated, but for now, GC is my favorite rhythm game.

That I'm confident in skill-wise: MaiMai

When the location test of DX in Dallas came through, I ended with a solid 13.1k ranking! Not a god level skill by any means, but it's enough that I can play and pass almost all charts in the game, and make good scores on a fair number. My specialty tends to be trills and tap-intensive songs, mostly owing from my GC experience, and low-bpm and weird slide tech are my worst enemies.

But I mean, last week I got an S on Umiyuri Kaiten, so that's something.

That I wish I was good at: Sound Voltex

I honestly just don't play this enough to be that good, despite it being at all the arcade locations I visit. I definitely really like it, but I've never felt the urge to particularly deep dive it like I have with GC, Maimai, WACCA, and Chunithm. Still, it's a really cool system with a huge song library and an insanely high skill ceiling, so maybe someday I'll commit enough to gid gud.

That I think has the best concept/design: Chunithm

Speaking of Chunithm, this is a game I'd probably lifestyle if I could find an online cabinet. The thing I tend to value the most in rhythm games is how a rhythm game expresses the music via the mechanics (thus why I was really drawn to GC, since the track and changing visuals along with the actual notes all contributed to expressing the music) and to me Chunithm does music expression the best, with MaiMai a close 2nd and GC a very close 3rd. The air notes add so much dimension to the way it feels to play.

That I think has the best song selection: Chunithm

It also helps that Chunithm probably has one of my favorite song selections...ever. It really fits for a weeb like me, as it has an insane number of anime openings, along with a great selection of touhou and vocaloid tracks. 2nd is definitely GC, and honestly if you count Wai Wai party probably beats Chunithm. Groove Coaster has a lot of weird songs you won't see anywhere else - collabs with Dangan Ronpa, Puzzle & Dragons, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Deltarune, BlazBlue, Dondonpachi, etc. It also has an amazing selection of touhou tracks, including 3-4 whole CDs worth of commissioned tracks not available in any other game. I own 3 of them and I am forever sad that Dream Coaster by A-One, COSIO's remixes of Hecatia's Theme and Raiko's Theme, Joker Junko by COOL & CREATE, and BUTAOTOME's remix of Utsuho's theme will never be in another rhythm game.

That I've been playing a lot recently: MaiMai, WACCA, and Chunithm

There's a set of freeplay arcades in my area called Cidercade, and they have a great selection of rhythm games. I'm lucky enough to have a monthly pass, which they don't currently offer anymore, and it only costs $20 a month, which is an insane price for a freeplay arcade. Thus, I tend to go twice a week, with one day focusing on MaiMai, and the other focusing on WACCA and Chunithm. WACCA is my other dear departed baby who died too soon, and it is incredibly sad how the pandemic killed what was a lot of people's new favorite rhythm game.

That I think deserves more attention: Beatblock

I don't normally stick with PC rhythm games, but Beatblock might become the exception. It essentially plays kind of like Undyne's battle from Undertale, but with far more flexibility and freedom in the movement and mechanics. The custom song community for this game is BATSHIT INSANE. Please please please check out some of the songs here, here, here, and here. It's currently in the demo stage, so it's free, please try it!!

That I think looks the hardest: Beatmania

The timing windows on Beatmania and all the Beatmania-likes (ex. POP'N, DJMax) are so hard for me. This, coupled with the fact that the pinky movement requirements for the DJ look physically painful make this the obvious contender for this spot, at least for me.

i've been infatuated with this song recently, and i don't know if you speak tamil, so i'm including the translation (where i'm understanding it from too).

the usage of the word 'infatuation' always leads me to remember this sunburst chart i'd seen of words and emotions. (the centre was the main emotions: anger, joy, sadness; and they split into milder and stronger versions), and love, i believe, had a 'infatuation' child. i will say, building off my first ask, i haven't been infatuated with a person in a while, but art bowls me over all the time. there needs to be something in a person i can respect, you know? and i don't respect anyone so.

And I get what you mean about infatuation, art has a way of completely undoing you, even when nothing else does. Hi, you brighten my day, I swear!

I keep thinking about how Sanji would feel a little alone when cooking. He was used to work with a lot of people around, so he is grateful if someone (usually Robin) is sitting at the table while he is preparing, or when Chopper tries to help him. He inadvertently mentions this to Usopp once, while they are looking for some spices together. From that day on, everyone takes "turns" keeping him some company, even Luffy and Zoro. They just sit there asking for drinks and food, and Sanji pretends he is bothered, but keeps making cocktails and tapas for them. The others start working there, bringing projects, charts, books, music sheets to the kitchen table.

He knows it was Usopp who told them. He is a bit tempted to confront him next time they are alone in the kitchen, but he is so genuinely happy he decides not to. He doesn't thank him out loud, either, but he finds his own ways to let him know that he appreciates what he had done for him.

Btw, I just discovered there's an actual book called "Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant". Perfect title for a fanfiction.

Her and Shin will be playfighting (once they eventually win her over) but Shin is a lot bigger and does not care about playing nice. She'll just beat up Sabine until she finally yelps and Ezra has to come rescue her. Ezra’s like haha I'm the big sibling now. Loser. Hello, this is my first time giving a question on this app but I do have one in mind regarding the Nexo Knights x PJSK AU.

I was curious about it, does the fanmade event focus on the knights? If so, does the respective of each units gets involved? Does it include with the 20 characters in Project Sekai to go to Knighton?

Oop, thanks for questioning. So, lemme answer a bit.

For fanmade events for the AU, this one quite tricky. In PRSK, there's things called Events, part of the gameplay in PRSK. Events are a period of time in which new cards, gacha, story, title and after live is released. Players can also earn event points to advance further on the leaderboard, and earn event badges to buy items in the event shop.

Events can either be a Marathon, Cheerful Carnival, or World Link event (World Link currently only on JP Servers). In short, Marathon Event is a Focus Event for each character in each unit, the key story for character developememt. Cheerful Carnival is a Mixed Event, event where people from different unit were put in a story. Then World Link is a special event in JP Server for each unit for 3RD Anniv that was divided in 4 chapters. I'm not talking about gameplay, this is about stories.

So let's talk about events in NK X PRSK AU. I did say in thread about fanmade events. So, I made some planning and things here, and I conclude things.

Marathon Event here will be separated into two types. One is focused on NEXO KNIGHTS members with respective units, for example if I make an event for Aaron, then the character involved of course is VBS along with the rest of NK members. Same for the rest of NK Members. The other was SEKAI Member events, like usual but NK Member for respective unit was involved.

For Cheerful Event, it just a mixed events that, yeah, everyone either SEKAI members and NK members interact. Also universe crossing can be done here, like 20 SEKAI members goes to Knighton or NEXO KNIGHTS can go to Shibuya. But... There is a but here. Both SEKAI members and NK members can transport into each others' realms, yes, I stated that, but it's not that easy. They need connection and resolving about complexity for feelings, goals, etc. So, like something resolvement, and become one like that, than BOOM! You can cross universe!

For World Link Event, it just focus on NK Members and unlike other Word Link that have Intro, 4 Chapters for each members that consist of two sections, and Ending, for this NEXO KNIGHTS World Link Event, the difference only instead of 4 Chapters, this consists 5 Chapters--each for NK Members.

April 25th, 2024 - PIU 2023 PHOENIX, IIDX 31, DDR A3, CHUNITHM PARALOST

after all my hard and awesome and super cool work and effort these past few days, it's time to reward myself on the one day i don't have to go to class... with an ARCADE DAY!!!! been really looking forward to this day to finally grind out my favorite arcade rhythm games, though i almost ended up cancelling my plans due to the rain and none of my family being willing to take me there... but thanks to me accidentally making my mom scold my sister, she took me there and i had the time of my LIFE!!!

struggling to figure out what i wanted to try first, i decided i wanted to grind out some PIU and hopefully regain my Intermediate Lv.10 title that i lost in the switch from XX to Phoenix. i tried looking up the requirements for the title on the website, but they're measured by this weird points/rating system for individual levels that i genuinely can't figure out?? ah well, no matter. if i play enough of the specified level, maybe i'll reach that point threshold soon enough! and so i did... very exhausting...

got tired pretty quickly and failed out of a D19 (MATADOR) at the very last hold, so i moved on to IIDX to get a bit of practice in for my hands while i waited for maya to come online and give me my new list of charts to clear!! first set went alright, i guess, and i even finally unlocked camellia's beach side bunny remix!!

while i waited, i switched over to some DDR and tried regaining my 14 clear lamp, which went alright! i got the clears, but i also got green FCs with them... more preemptive progress for my future goal of getting the 14 green lamp someday... (ohyeah also, kilonova ESP-17 extra stage clear!! exhausting but really fun chart...)

found a free credit in the chunithm cab and eated it (hoping to get the elusive SS rank on Shukusei Shinpan...) only to FAIL AGAIN AUGHHH JUST GIVE ME THE DAMN ONE MIL (ah well, at least i still have until i get onto my card again :]

moved back to DDR to try reclaiming my 15 clear lamp this time, but then i decided to give Ichizu a few tries when all of a sudden... i got THIS.

A BLACK FLAG. ON ICHIZU. AN EVIL AND BRUTAL 15 WITH A BAJILLION 16THS. AUGHHH AND IT WAS A RANDOM CHOKE IN THE FIRST 30 NOTES AS WELLLLL

i tried running it back several times (at least 10 times) in hopes of somehow getting the PFC on another try since i was so close, but it simply wasn't meant to be... i got some really good PFCs up to 300 combo twice, but the fatigue started kicking in and i couldn't play for much longer as i was starting to suffer from a massive headache...

i DID see a friend later that day who tried cheering me on through my failed attempts, so we played a fun set before i finished for the day where i nabbed some pretty good scores that i didn't think i could do!! (melody H4CKER is such a banger song oh my fucking god)

maya finally came online and gave me a list of 10s to try during my set, so i did just that and tried playing with a massive headache going on... big mistake. didn't clear any new 10s and only got AAs on some other charts before i decided that was enough gaming for today and went home... (that HARD BRAIN was cracked AF tho)

If they ever met, what do they think of each other?

An interesting take! To answer your question, all of my ocs pretty much exist on the same timeline/verse because I'm only ever really invested in the one I create for myself. That means one Nerevarine, one Hero of Kvatch, and one Dragonborn. I like being consistent lol.

There's actually a ton of overlap in who meets who. Maybe I'll make a chart for that someday, who knows.

i am here to post more things individual to me! this time, it's my top 25 video games. i am honestly not remotely content with this list and will update it around september of this year, and make it a tradition going forward. i never realized how hard it actually is to put this out on a chart/list. i always knew what i held dearly to my heart, but god when it came down to it, i had to REALLY think. imagining how this list will look by the end of this year is currently challenging. this chart is in no order besides grouping series. certain games will ALWAYS be on this list, most definitely the red dead series, and grand theft auto series. those are masterpieces, or damn near. red dead redemption ii is 100% the best game i've ever touched. the first redemption game i still highly regard to be one to stand the test of time. i have a fondness for fallout, there are many things to love, and things to not love, and that's all i'll say there for now. grand theft auto iv has one of the best stories i've played, and it's so played out but the VIBE of that game, the darkness, grittiness, it's great. san andreas is one of my childhood games, i owned so many copies because i was a stupid child. moving onto guitar hero, i still remember my first experience with it at my sister's, i remember getting my first copy of the game from fred's of all places. i mainly play clone hero nowadays, and am mostly average. i play expert, still have never got past that ttfaf intro. i got into wwe pretty early on in my life like most of these games, being able to watch the show weekly and hop in the games after school was special. cozy survival crafting is definitely one of my favorite things ever, and it's funny to call terraria cozy but it is to me LOL. i will never EVER understand terraria hate, how can you hate something so good? i have fallen out of love with minecraft over the years to the (in my opinion) underwhelming updates and odd direction the game has taken. with that however, the new auto-crafter and trial chambers look so sick. i want to say i got into stardew valley in 2018 and have loved it ever since, still haven't gotten through the beginning of ginger island though, maybe someday. ever since extremely late 2017 or early 2018, my main game has been fortnite: battle royale. at one point, i wanted to go pro and make a living streaming, but sadly i am NOT built for that. i've always loved zombies, first experience was probably like season 2-3 twd, and been hooked ever since. project zomboid was such an insane experience in february of last year. such an eye-opener. easily the best zombie game ever made. 7 days to die is also a great game, the impending doom you feel every week is fun and refreshing from what i normally play while still have that survival crafting i love. i grew up on tony hawk games and wasn't sure which ones to put but these were the standouts, and i didn't want to load the list up with a ton from one series. i remember spending all my savings as a kid on saints row: the third and i still wonder if that was a good decision or not. i have played tons of call of duty in my day, although i stopped at ghosts, and have dabbled in and out ever since. black ops is easily my favorite, the campaign, and multiplayer, agh. zombies even. modern warfare 2 is a classic and one i cannot ignore. ghost looks cool. i have played HELLA sims 3 in my lifetime, yes i have played the sims 4 and i can confidently say the sims 3 clears with ease. i dumped crazy hours into the console ports and the pc as well. around this final stretch of the list is where i really struggled so i went for nostalgia with atv off-road fury 2. that series and mx vs atv were definitely a blast to 10 and below me, and might even be today. i'm not quite sure. if anyone actually finishes this, i am sorry, for i am the rambler.

oughhhh ok ok here's my favorites:

Naphtali and Paul (platonic-brotherly): Naphtali is the leader of a little band of survivors and a wise prophet and in some universes a crow person. Paul is Naphtali's bestie and bodyguard, a quieter, chill big guy who has animal telepathy. They're best friends they're comrades they're sitting silently together around a fire knowing they'll be together until they die.

Toad and Jack-be-Nimble (platonic-brotherly) (supervillains-in-training): Jack mends Toad's ripped jeans and claims it's because he has ADHD (he uses that as a general-purpose excuse for literally anything, including all of his love languages) and needs to keep his hands busy. Toad would die for Jack but he expresses that by spitting slime into his hair as a prank. They're so stupid about it I love them <3

Rudy and Pearl: most importantly they're ride or die partners in crime, secondarily... maybe romantic maybe not...? they're life partners but they're not necessarily attracted to each other. but they might get married in future. we'll see.

Rudy and Judy: ......long-lost siblings....? cousins....? aunt and nephew??? adult adoptive son and mother???? another hard one to define. Rudy is the clown persona of Judy's father, but he is NOT her father, and he's not her child (he's effectively an adult in terms of cognition!) but he's not her equal in life experience either (she's like mid-40s and he's one day old when they meet). But anyway they're so good. Also ride or die for each other.

Bonus: Two and Five, my clone besties. Two teeechnically isn't my oc but the relationship between him and Five is one of my favorites. They have deep philosophical differences but they love each other deeply. They're the two sides of the plot sword and they cut each other and themselves. Slippery blades, both of them.

29: What was your first fandom you were in? Did you make any art/fanfic for it?

Hmmmmm.... that's hard to say because I was an internet Lurker for a long time before I actually made a blog or anything. But I'd say my first fandom experience proper was probably X-Men! I went through SO many Pinterest panels before finding the comics and getting wildly invested in the X-Men and even drawing Nightcrawler a few times. X-Men was the first series that I read while also enjoying strangers' opinions of the stories and characters.
