oh that's definitely something that has to do with hope and overcoming struggles/your darkest days. first character that came to mind was maybe finrod? but then i thought of that dialogue between maglor and maedhros about the silmaril/earendil in the sky so... maybe that's a story about Maglor and Earendil? so one night, when Vingilot approaches Middle-Earth, he notices maglor passed out on the beach, and, well. what do you do when your enemy (?) is passed out on a beach? that's right. for some reason you direct your space boat to the sea. your foot technically doesn't touch middle-earth, but you can still get pretty close to wake up the kinslayer and tell him to sleep further from the waves before tide approaches

i have no idea what happens in between, but i think it would be nice if by the end (maybe somewhere in 3rd age?) earendil took maglor to valinor
