7. favorite main character

If by "main character" we mean party members, then it's a tie between Flynn and Judith. I've always liked "knight characters who want to fix system from the inside", and Flynn fits that bill. Plus, like Shrek, he's like an onion: He has layers (lol). Though tbh, I didn't really start liking him until I watched First Strike, which I also watched before I met Flynn in-game. FS gets a bad rep, and I personally don't like it that much either, but I did like how they gave Flynn some more background that wasn't completely attached to Yuri. I think I started liking Flynn more when I realized he's not exactly a fandom fave... unless he's paired with Yuri. You know when you have ships with your favorite character, but your favorite character is obviously the one who supports the emotional baggage of Character B? Yeah, it's like that. Judith was just There for me until I discovered Ryuutsukai no Chinmoku/Silence of the Dragon Rider. The game doesn't give her the same development as Karol, so you miss out on a lot in a first playthrough. The light novels really humanize her and show just how lonely and sad she is. She feels more like her age than what the game gave us. I'd argue that she's probably the most tragic character out of the entire Vesperia playable cast. Raven's life sucked, too, but Judith witnessing everything she did as a child stands out to me more than his story. Now if we're talking about protagonists, then Luke fon Fabre. Amazing character development, great voice acting, etc. He's also fun to ship (although not as fun as Flynn lol) in Tales crossover ships, like with Yuri and Alisha. I have rambled more than once about Luke, so I'll spare another paragraph here.

10. favorite battle

I still have to go with Luke vs. Asch in Eldrant. It's a perfect cap off for both their characters. Luke finally FINALLY accepting that he's alive and has a purpose in life; Asch reclaiming "Luke fon Fabre" during his last stand. It's a great scene, helped with Lowenthal's voice acting ("Here I am, alive!" / I will make those words your last, REPLICAAAAAAAA!" God damn, the ham), plus "Meaning of Birth" playing in the background... *chef's kiss*

17. future costume dlc you wish to have

I wouldn't mind seeing a costume DLC with Rose or Sorey's outfit in a future game! I'm not sure if any current game has either character's outfit for DLC, but maybe we'll get something for Graces f remaster.

I do relate to Flynn and Judith because of their pasts (their daddy issues, Judith struggling academically as a child, Flynn being bullied as a child), but if we're talking about "in general", then I'd have to say Sheena Fujibayashi. Go figure, she's my favorite Symphonia character, lol.

Idky but Sorey my Tales of Zestiria muse came to mind first. I love that wholesome bean a lot but I've never seen a time where the Zestiria rpc was particularly active for me to pull Sorey out aside from writing with Tina his main Mikleo.

2. if you HAD to choose, who’s your favorite muse?

Deadass I cannot choose because I have reasons I love all of my muses and choosing one that trumps ALL of them I really can't give you an answer to that.

3. which muse is the trickiest to get into character for?

Probably my least used muses only for that aforementioned reason of they don't get much of my brainspace so my grasp on them isn't what it used to be

4. is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with?

Definitely my Captive Prince muses 100% only because it's a book series I guarantee you haven't heard of outside of me so it's a very niche duo of muses I have so they're really only on the request only list on the extremely small off chance I'll find someone else who knows it and would be interested in writing it.

5. if you HAD to choose, who’s your least favorite muse?

Honestly I couldn't give you one that I say I DISlike the most for the same reason I couldn't pick one muse that's my absolute favorite out of the bunch. I have muses that I think about significantly less because I don't have any activity currently for them but that doesn't mean I don't like the muses for their own reasons either. But if I really really had to pick something I'd say my Voltron muses only because I still have a major dislike for the ending of the series and it kinda soured things for those muses for me in some ways.

I'm not sure if you remembered during this post and were thinking about it or not, but Emil's backstory did kind of already exist. We obviously won't get a resolution to their story, but we at least know why they're merged the way they are.

I will literally never recover from Transgressor Yuri and the fact that they really pulled that shit out on us and then pulled the plug on the fucking game LMAO. They're not going to bring him back in manga form, and even if we get the wild possibility of a mainline console game for Crestoria, I highly doubt the crossover aspect would return (lest it essentially be like the RM series which seems dead since the mobile market slaughtered it in cold blood).

As for Tear and Flynn, I'm guessing the inner world is part of the Crestoria world but is something within it? Like a sort of other dimension? That was my guess, anyway. Not sure if it'll have any relevance to the world in the manga or if that was just meant to be a crossover thing to help assist with the many crossovers.

I don't think Velvet would have killed Milla because basically everyone was telling her to knock it off. Laphicet was living in the village Presea was in and they didn't join Velvet after the side story, so I would imagine their story was either done or they wouldn't have been important for anything for quite some time if ever again (they'd probably show up in events if the game continued but unless Velvet went back on her own and they joined up with her at that point, I personally can't really see it).

Sorey starting his journey without Lailah I think works in this case because it's not their canon verse. There can easily be an explanation to handwave it since the rules of everything are very different.

Just wanted to add my thoughts on the topics because I'm also deeply saddened by the loss of the crossover. 😔 All we're left with is fics and stuff really at this point. I wish they'd turn the game back on but I don't know if they even have it anymore or how that works with the coding once they shut down online service games. Also don't know if they'd even have the data still for players or if they would've wiped it to create room for something else or something

Tbh even if they deleted the data but ended up rebooting the game, I'd rather that than nothing and would play it all over from scratch again. Crestoria was my favorite mobile game ever and I am upset without it. The manga just really isn't the same for me. it's okay, but it's not nearly as good as the game for me.

Crestoria’s shutting down this month, but we know that the story will continue through the manga. However, the manga seems to be dropping all of the storylines involving the crossover characters, so I’ve compiled a list on all of the unresolved cliffhangers involving them:

- Just everything about Emil??? There’s so much??? Like, do his parents know what happened to him? Do Marta’s parents know? They’re childhood friends and she’s traveling with him now, so, did she secretly follow Emil, or did Emil return to his home town at some point? Will he ever separate his consciousness from Ratatosk? Is there more to it than them just sharing a body? (There’s definitely more to it, but now we may never know)

- Luke and Alisha (and presumably Muzet) left together on a journey. We will never no how their journey is going or see their friendship blossom.

- Caius is on a journey to find Rubia, but two event stories reveal that she’s completely fine and that the village knows about her whereabouts, so either these event stories take place during a different timeline, or no one in Caius’s village bothered to tell him where Rubia went.

- Trangressor Yuri??? Hello???

- Tear is mentioned to be from the “inner world”. What does this mean??? And Flynn seems to be familiar with it even though he’s from Crestoria’s world? What was going on with them???

- The trees. Kanonno Earheart is playable, but there’s a tree named after her. How does that work? And there’s a fourth unnamed tree??? Possible fourth Kanonno? We will never know!!!

- How did Zelos and Jude become friends? It’s very rare for Zelos to develop genuine friendships with other men, so like, did Jude save his life or something? 

- Asbel is mentioned to have attended the knight academy, but he now works as a mercenary. What happened at the knight academy? Did he drop out? Does he just need the money from mercenary work? If so, does this mean his family isn’t rich in this universe? Does he still get to be a lord? And where is Hubert??? Asbel never mentions him at all???

- I really want to know how Asbel and Jade met. They seemed like they had a fun dynamic. 

- Just Sophie’s whole deal. There’s definitely more to her than what was revealed in her side story, but now we may never know…

- Meredy still arrives in a space ship, so where did she come from???

- Velvet and Milla never met up again. And if they did, would Velvet continue to just begrudgingly work with her and go through with killing her? Would Laphicet have eventually joined up with them? 

- Kyle still seems to be Stahn’s son, but he’s 15 and Stahn is 17 so??? Time travel??? Also, Stahn is still a sword! His sister still thinks he’s dead!

- Sorey was on a Shepherd’s journey when we first meet him, but it’s never mentioned how that got started or what his goal is. However, when we meet Lailah, she’s still looking for the Shepherd so??? And Sorey’s only traveling buddy is Mikleo, which means he started his Shepherd’s journey without meeting Lailah yet. How does that work???

i really don't think that my issue with the eizen sq is that eizen dies. sure, i'm biased towards wanting to see my favorite characters earn their happy endings, but most of my favorite tales characters die through the canon so eizen isn't special. i think it's more about how that's a huge point of conflict and drama with an extremely underwhelming resolution that i'd dare say borders character assassination for other characters (ie sorey) because of its execution, because would it really be a yamamoto game if "character assassination for the sake of following the script" wasn't a thing in it? this was literally x2's bread and butter

nothing changes if you use edna in that battle or not, except maybe one or two throwaway lines like "now is the time" (i'm not 100% sure right now and i can't be bothered to go back to an old save and defeat him twice for a post right now). it's a stark difference from fighting van with luke and tear in abyss, for putting an example. there's no new scene, new dialogue, new music, nothing. for how much eizen was hyped through promotion and in the actual game, the resolution he gets is one of the blandest things i've seen in this franchise

if i think about zelos and seles, or senel and shirley and i don't know if asbel and hubert because i wasn't that good at japanese/english at the time and haven't replayed it yet going by my memories, i never felt as... scammed? as i did with eizen and edna. then again neither of those were hyped to that extent, nor are like edna, where her main drive is "saving her brother". this is literally the reason she joins at all, eizen is really most of her characterization

the eizen sidequest just came to me like the team with a killerboner striking again. i guess most people who were fine with it didn't get to go through this kind of disappointment before, but by the time zestiria was released i was already too fed up: besides hearts not being this hopeless for no reason (though i do find a certain death very contrived still), given when it came to what you could call its lore version of the issue of malevolence, zest didn't get to have the same number of emotional beats on the matter that previous games like x2 had (and take a shoot everytime someone, often lailah, brings up "don't feel things too much because you might fall malevolent" in the game about 'passion'). it came with the plotholes despite the larger dev cycle, but there was not enough given to make you... feel for it. i still felt something with x2 despite being some big bullshit writing-wise - when i saw alt milla falling into the abyss i felt something, and when i saw elle crying over victor's body or over the soup ludger made for her in the aftermath i felt something. i didn't have that with dezel or eizen's death, unless "being confused with the sudden infodumping" or "being confused at how it ended just like that and searching if i fucked up and missed something" counts, so it really just boils down to "i feel really scammed"

Hey Vivia Subterranean Aqueduct. You’re only like 17 episodes late. Glad they remembered you existed. Still really not into this plot point. Also, is it just me, or would Game Alisha be a bit more flexible in her idealism? It could just be that I’ve been writing her as heavily affected by political climate in the Tales of IX AU since she rules the kingdom, but I feel like Alisha would and should understand that while she can strive for “no one dies,” it’s in no way an absolute/a guarantee. Idk, I just don’t like how they’ve been writing her character. Please refer to last week’s post for that rant. (This, of course, is all without even counting the fact that there’s no way in hell this large a section of the Hyland army would be fighting against Alisha. Justice for my knight daughter, goddamnit. Pretty sure she was pretty widely beloved in the game.)

Bored. Bored. “The dragon cannot be purified. Edna, Zaveid, and even Lailah said so. But it’s not that the dragon cannot be purified... I think it’s because there was no Shepherd who could take on the dragon’s Malevolence.” ...I’m listening. Most of me is yelling that you’re incorrect and taking away from one of the most poignant and painful lessons Sorey has to learn by giving him godlike powers where one of his greatest strengths came from his kindness and empathy while being like any other Shepherd and uuuuugh, buuuuut the part of me that desperately needs 10000 Eizen Lives AUs is totally listening.

Lailah, you can’t just claim Sorey’s matured. Sorey hasn’t changed much at all. We haven’t seen anything. I miss my sunshine child. This isn’t my baby.

That whole scene between Alisha, her father, and Bartlow would’ve been a lot better if Bartlow actually deserved this level of deceptive villainy (and if I didn’t laugh my ass off at his jump). This plot honestly could’ve been pretty cool...if it had been clearly in play since the beginning. This is the kind of thing that needs hints, foreshadowing, buildup. Show me Bartlow revealing himself as a competent villain. Show me Alisha rebuilding rapport with the soldiers against her. Show me, anime. That’s writing rule number one, and you have the best platform to do that.

But hey, fuck yeah watersthetic and Rising Up. And that bit with Rose and Alisha, god bless.

In response to your post about Mikleo getting flustered by girls: Most likely, it has to do with the way they were raised. Since Mikleo is a seraph, the seraphim in Elysia knew to raise him to "seraphim norms" (which we know from Berseria are most likely human norms, due to them at one point living in harmony.) With Sorey, they did NOT know if human society had changed, and with Zenrus being well aware of Sorey's destiny to return to the human world, they were unsure how to raise him as someone who fits in there. (As a side tangent on this, with Mikleo coming to Zenrus as a seraph baby, there may have been genuine concern that seraphim can reproduce among the community, leading to this behavior as well, but this isn't backed by canon in a obvious way. If I'm wrong, I'd love to know.)

Thus, Mikleo gets flustered around girls because Mikleo was raised and socialized in seraphim culture (and thus human culture, by accident) properly. Sorey doesn't because he's not a seraph and thus had to be taught in a different, possibly archaic or strange way. (This is also why multiple people in this area of the fanbase tend to state Sorey is autistic/schizophrenic coded - due to his complete disregard for what goes in a society and just following what he knows very well.)

Hmmm. Well I could see this but there's a few things that make me think that's not the case.

The key point of the story is the harmony and cohabitation between Seraphim and Humans with Sorey and Mikleo being at the center to show they are no different outside of the main thing. I'm pretty sure the canon makes it a point to highlight how Sorey and Mikleo were literally raised in the same exact way with the seraphim taking on the habits of eating, sleeping and living in houses for Sorey. Its also made clear in a skit (though its anime so meh) that Mikleo actually goes out of his way to ask Zenrus about talking to girls his age while Sorey has never really had an interest in such questions prior to meeting a girl his age. Whether Mikleo asked this in regards to help Sorey along in the future or because neither knew how to talk to a human girl before is uncertain.

Seraphim are never stated to reproduce but with a chief as old as Zenrus and typically seraphs being as long lived as they are, I'm pretty sure while rare seraphic rebirths aren't unheard of since they have happened before with kids so the idea that baby Mikleo might have raised concerns about seraph pregnancies is shaky at best. The only thing that surprises people (like with Zaveid) was the idea that Mikleo was an actual baby.

Going off of the last point it also doesn't make sense for them to suddenly give Mikleo sex ed and crush talk 101 if his arrival was what raised seraphic reproduction concerns because they'd be as ill equipped to handle it as with Sorey. Also its not been THAT long since Zenrus mingled with humans at Camlann and canon to be that out of touch with human culture.

I still don't think Sorey doesn't get sexuality or attraction. Its made clear at several points that both Sorey and Mikleo are somewhat innocent about the more kinkier side of things often missing innuendos but Sorey is always aware of love talk. He is incredibly sharp when he picks up on Zaveid's plans to read the wind at the sauna and is equally as disturbed by the idea of Dezel stalking Rose at the sauna. He is distressed about walking in on what he thinks is Alisha changing and berates himself for not knocking as he did invade her privacy but shows no further interest whatsoever. He also realises and is horrified at the prospect of Edna mock flirting with him early on and is unimpressed by Sergei continuing to see him and Rose as a married couple. Basically he showcases absolutely no true interest in women as a whole so much so that despite several scenarios which are typically shippy he never really reacts in a manner suggesting any interest or attraction. Meanwhile he is quite giddy about the idea of romance in general, he finds angsty passionate love poetry nice, he quite clearly states to Zaveid that romance does come up in his life. He is also pretty flustered about his connection with Mikleo early on post water armatization and doesn't quite talk about it. He is never quite flustered by women or the thought of women. Hell he shows more fascination at Mikleo's whole babe scene while being very "girls have nice skin 😀" about them in bathing suits in the dlc.

Overall Sorey shows a healthy interest in romance and can pick up on and even makes a small sex joke at one point (I can't remember when exactly but he does). He simply shows no attraction to any of the girls and doesn't react to any of the moments with Rose, Alisha or Edna in ways that suggest an interest. And this lack of interest is actually brought up by everyone at several points. You'd think at 17 hormones would override a chaste archaic upbringing because regardless of our awareness, attraction isn't a concious thing.

I have no opinion on him being autistic coded or schizo coded (????). I'm neither and therefore don't relate or assume.

I'd love to discuss more anr bounce ideas and theories off of you. I like the idea of baby Mikleo causing a mini panic wave amongst the seraphim even if I think its unlikely. 😂

There it is. She is honestly amazed he has been so patient with these people thus far. If it were her, she wouldn't bother anymore after the first five minutes of whining. It reminds her why she hates humans: aside from their greed, they're also too dependent on those who are ranked higher in power. Sure, the person who is ranked higher is supposed to help those who are lower—but she thinks there's a fine line between relying on someone for help and exploiting. She remembers this was a life lesson Sorey had to learn; that even though he's the Shepherd, he still cannot help everyone. People would only exploit his kindness for dumb intentions, and that would only create malevolence. Malevolence doesn't seem to exist in Flynn's world, but still, Edna feels some pity for him. It's not a good feeling to be exploited.

She doesn't know what Flynn's life used to be like, but he has been nothing but fair and patient, and shouldn't that be all that matters? Ugh, politics annoy her. Good thing there was none of that on her solitary mountain. 

Though, his next words make her pause. ❛  ...It's nice, but it's still not all it's cracked up to be.  ❜ Edna is quiet, thinking of how she's always spent her long days just waiting for her brother to come home; waiting for any letters with her name on it. She has always lived in the lonely past, but in a way, it's better than the constant battles Flynn has to go through in the present.

And besides, if he complains to Yuri, then wouldn't Yuri tell him to keep trying too? Yuri seems like a busybody and would probably say a lot more than her, like how he somehow protected her mountain when she didn't even ask him to. ❛  I'm bored often, so I will graciously lend an ear should you need it. Though...  ❜ She looks around, seeing no one else around. ❛  I suppose talking to me will probably make people think you're losing your mind.  ❜

Even when given permission, Flynn looks hesitant as he watches the noble turn the corner, leaving him alone with the young girl that only… he could see, from what he understands? He was still wrapping his head about that little detail and still had moments where he thought that he was, perhaps, going mad. Still, he doesn’t get the opportunity to complain often and while he didn’t want to make it a habit, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t feeling the urge.

And… well… there was really no one nearby that could accuse him of going crazy if he was overheard talking to himself. So… there shouldn’t be any harm in divulging in Edna’s suggestion to vent to her. It wasn’t like she could spill any classified information, right?

So, he’s quiet for a moment, seeming to consider his words carefully before turning to Edna, expression fully exasperated now as opposed to the look of passive compliance that he wore just moments before. Running a hand through his hair, he can only sigh. “I think a lot of it is that they’re used to the Commandant being one of the higher powers. There was no emperor before me and a lot of the time, it seemed to be Alexei versus the Council. And… sometimes it still is. Me against the Council. But they never bother any of the councilmen for these crazy demands of theirs. It’s always me and then I refuse or can’t, they start digging into my own status like it matters.”

All because he was the Commandant from the Lower Quarter… He wasn’t sure what was worst, honestly. Being looked down on because he was from the Lower Quarter or nobles assuming that he, himself, was a noble and that they had full right to talk down about his childhood home right in front of him, and then get offended when he jumped in to defend it.

“It must be nice, living in such a way that you don’t have to worry about the consequences of your words and actions. Living only in the present and never having to worry about the past or future. Meanwhile, I fight daily for the bare essentials to be given to the Lower Quarter and the Council and nobles fight it every step of the way. It’s disgusting.”

Yeah, Flynn must have been holding that in for a very long time because the exasperation turned to anger as his fist clenched for a moment and then… he snaps out of it and the anger gives way to embarrassment.

“...My apologies– I mean– I know you asked for me to complain but… well… it still feels weird to do so. Usually the only one I vent to is Yuri but... well, I don't want him to think I can't handle this position."

I don't really have a preference on the prompt, rather I'd like it to be a tainted AU? (repetitive plotline I know). This turned out to be more introspection and less plot than I wanted it too but I hope you can enjoy it anyway!

When he came back after collecting herbs and berries Mikleo found Sorey still sitting in the same spot he did this morning, looking out to the horizon with his feet dangling over the cliff. He wondered if it was the light that shone through the trees or just his own imagination, refused it to be reality that made the aura of malevolence around Sorey seem that much stronger than before. With a sigh he set his basket aside.

When the malevolence first settled in Sorey he noticed something was off before anyone else did, though he couldn't quite name what it was. Once Mikleo understood what it was though, he forced Sorey to as many breaks as they could afford, to get his mind off the duty bestowed upon him, to try and get the shepherd to talk to him. Even now he still was...

"You know", Mikleo said as he sat down with his back pressed against Sorey's. "It was easier when you were lying to me and thought I didn't see right through it." He was almost glad when he heard Sorey grunt in acknowledgement of his words. It meant he was listening and that was more than what he usually got out of Sorey when he tried to talk to him. "At least I could try to understand what you were thinking or.. feeling when you were still talking to me. Like this.." He turned his head to the side, looking over to the ruin they stayed in. The sun was slowly setting, shining it's last rays through the tall trees. He used to think sunsets were romantic but now the orange-red colour of them had his stomach turning. It shouldn't have been like this. "I don't even know if you still want me by your side anymore. Or rather.." Mikleo tugged his legs to his chest, hugging his arms around them. "I know what you told me when I first came with you, but even though you told me to leave back then, I could tell you wanted me to stay. Right now, I can't tell what it is you want anymore."

But after Lailah broke their pacts, after Sorey had lost the ability to purify and everyone could tell malevolence had settled in the shepherd Sorey had told Mikleo to leave. And that was the last word he spoke to Mikleo in over a week now.

"We all pushed you too far", Mikleo continued after a short break. "We shouldn't have asked so much of you. You had a whole world to consider and still you kept smiling." Mikleo chuckled. "You had us fooled pretty good with that one. I always thought I knew you so well, but I really should have noticed what was going on sooner. I said I wasn't going to be a burden anymore and yet, how many times did I push you forward when I should have opted for a break?" With a sigh he let his head sink down onto his knees. "So, if you don't want me by your side anymore, I get it. If you're telling me to leave again and you really mean it, I'll go this time. I won't keep bothering you. Just know that.. I still want to support you in every way I can. You just..", Mikleo had to suppress a sob, his eyes burning with unshed tears all of a sudden. He longed to hear Sorey's voice again so badly. "You just have to talk to me."

But Sorey stayed silent and Mikleo waited. He waited until the sun had sunken below the hills and the cold blue hues of the night covered the almost cloudless sky. He waited until the first stars sprang to life. And he sighed. Not today either, then, he thought.

"Well, I should prepare dinner then", he said and pressed his hands to the ground to push himself up.

But he stopped when he felt a hand wrap around his wrist.

"Stay", Sorey whispered and it was so silent Mikleo almost missed it. But he heard it and despite his smile his tears finally fell. Sorey had asked him to stay and that might mean that he was finally ready to talk, that he had something more to say than this one word. But even if he didn't Mikleo was so, so happy for this single word didn't only mean for him to stay sitting like this. Somewhere behind this simple word he heard Sorey telling him to stay by his side, not only today but forever.

"I wouldn't dare go anywhere else", Mikleo whispered just as silent. He hoped it was reassuring enough, even if Sorey's hand didn't move away from his wrist. He didn't mind the contact at all.

And so Mikleo waited again. For Sorey, he would always wait.

A wind picked up as the night went on, not warm but not unpleasantly cold either. Mikleo allowed it to play with his hair, thinking back to Dezel. He knew Sorey must be doing the same.

The wind seemed to push the last clouds out of the sky as well and an almost full moon shone down bright on the two of them. It was so silent Mikleo almost jumped when Sorey spoke again.

"It wasn't your fault", he said and relief spread through Mikleo at the honesty in the other's voice. "Or anyone's, really. There's no one to blame but me and that's what makes it so hard. No matter how many times Lailah told me 'You don't become the strongest shepherd in a day' I kept pushing too far. And when I met my limit I hated myself for my weakness. I still do. I keep thinking back to the cardinal and to Dezel and my head keeps repeating the question of what else I could have done. It keeps haunting me even in my sleep - I'm sure you noticed, I remember waking up to your concerned glance more often than not."

Mikleo nodded, knowing Sorey would feel the motion. He knew Sorey kept having nightmares, knew he didn't even sleep some nights. But he never dared to ask what they were about.

"Wanting to change the past is selfish and no one should decide who lives and who dies", Sorey said. "Knowing that.. I feel the malevolence inside myself grow stronger every time I think about it."

Just as he said that Mikleo felt the pang in his chest grow stronger again, felt the malevolence around them grow and knew it came from Sorey. Then he heard Sorey take a shaking breath, then another and the waves coming from him dimmed down a little.

"I felt bad for rejecting you as my Sublord but I felt even worse for dragging you along with me, through all this danger."

Mikleo was sure Sorey said that and yet it sounded so far away. The whole Sublord drama - they never really addressed it again after Sorey fainted in the Galahad ruins that day. To hear him talk about it now..

"...the reason I rejected you in the first place", he remembered to focus back on Sorey's voice. "There were so many instances you could have died because of my inexperience! That time in Marlind, with my vision.. I tried to hide it so no one would worry and then it almost killed you because no one knew what was going on. Or on that battlefield, when I insisted on going against Heldalf and I lost my resonance. I could've lost y-"

"But you didn't", Mikleo interrupted him before his malevolence could act up again. It was still his job to reassure Sorey after all. "You can't get rid of me that easily." He took a deep breath before he continued. "And I came along because I wanted to. I may not have known what I was getting into fully but I was aware of the dangers the path of the shepherd would bare."

"It wasn't supposed to end like this though."

"Is it really over, Sorey?"

"I no longer have the power to purify Hellions. How can I defeat the Lord of Calamity if I don't even dare call myself the Shepherd?"

"Is that really what we set out to do?", Mikleo asked, urging Sorey to think back to that first time they left Elysia together. "We wanted to see the world, remember?"

He could hear Sorey take in a sharp breath, then felt the other's hand cup his own, squeezing tightly. "With all the things going on", Sorey breathed, "I almost forgot about our dream."

"Even if saving the world isn't within the range of our possibilities, the things we did manage sure didn't go unnoticed. And we can still follow our dream, even now. Let's focus on us for now, instead of the world, how does that sound? We can walk a new path, in our own pace for now. Small steps towards a bigger goal."

"Our own pace..", Sorey repeated with newfound wonder.

He let go of Mikleo's hands and Mikleo felt his heart sink to his stomach as Sorey stood up. Did he say something wrong?

But Sorey walked in front of him, smiling through the dried tears that shimmered in the moonlight and extended a hand towards Mikleo. "Just us, right?", he asked as Mikleo took his hand.

"Yes, just us."

"I think I like that."

officially done with tales of zestiria!! overall, i really enjoyed the game and i'm glad i finally sat down and played it. more junk thoughts below.

so it's definitely not as bad as i had heard people say it was. i was really surprised when i saw just how much of a bad rep this game gets, but...i can definitely see some things as to why people don't like it... one of the things i had heard was that there was barely any character development in the game, and i agree with that. i was 35ish hours in when suddenly people were already talking about going into the final battle and i was like...what?! no sub-story about rose or eizen or lilah that goes more into their past/characters like sheena in tos or something?? i guess we did get more into edna with that sidequest about eizen (it was nice seeing her show emotions for once!), but other than that, i really didn't feel like the game focused on ANYONE else at any point in the story. they just sort of get introduced into your party and are there to help sorey in his quest.

speaking of sorey, i REALLY didn't care for his character at all. i think he's the only one where i was super apathetic towards in terms of character and personality. even zaveid, who i thought i was going to dislike because of how annoying i found him in berseria, grew on me and learned to like him. i don't know, i guess when i compare him to other protagonists in the tales of games i've played, he really is the most forgettable of them all. like, when he "sacrifices" himself and goes in a sleep slumber, i felt no emotion whatsoever. as soon as i got rose in my party, i switched to using her as my main (which never happens lol i'm boring and usually stick to main characters as my Player 1--emil, lloyd, luke, velvet, dude with the purple hair in vesperia for the amount i played in the game) cus i was just like wow give me someone more interesting PLEASE. so, sorry to sorey fans (if there are any) but to me he's one of the most boring aspects of the game...and he's the damn shepherd!

and continuing on that point, i think the plot in this tales game is also probably the weakest one out of the ones i've played (weak main character, weak plot). the game starts off with the simple premise that sorey is the shepherd and he must get rid of the Lord of Calamity, and...that's pretty much it. in other tales games, you start off thinking your objective is A, but then as you journey along, a plot twist occurs and you realize now that objective A really was just a small task in what is your true objective. Something like this never happens in the game, so the pace just pretty much stays the same throughout the entirety of the game. sure, there are some cool moments (rose's introduction and her learning to armatize will forever be my favorite), but they are scattered out and about and honestly in this game i can't really remember something as impacting as luke sinking that one city (haven't played tota in a while lol) or palmacosta being destroyed in tos or velvet finding out the truth about her brother.

but anyway, the rest of the cast, i absolutely loved, so it's truly a shame that they were stuck in a sort of forgettable plot. i already talked about edna and rose being my favorites, but lilah (that scene with the oregami...OOF...OOF!!!!) and zaveid are cool too. alisha is barely in the main game, but it was great seeing more of her in the DLC and showing her struggle of what she wants to do (her combat also seems cool for the couple of fights but i had to stick with rose...sorry!). i only wish we could have had more skits showing the party interacting with one other. i don't know if it's just me but i really felt like there were barely any skits in this game, which is sad because most of the cast is enjoyable and it's a shame we didn't get to see them talk with each other in skits more!

i had seen people say that it's best to play zestiria and then berseria so you can catch all the references in berseria, but...to be honest, i don't think i would have enjoyed zestiria as much if i had played it first! prime examples are the eizen sidequest and the sidequest where you FREAKING FIND MAGILOU'S TOMB. like...hello??? when i got to the eizen sidequest, i 100% would not have given as much of a shit on killing that dragon if i hadn't played berseria beforehand. it really made me sad knowing the tragic ending that eizen wound up having. and finding magilou's grave being guarded by her friend also broke my heart. like...seriously!!! that was something that i also would not have given another thought if i didn't know who magilou was. so yeah i don't regret playing berseria first since i actually think it enhanced the experience a bit more.

gameplay-wise, i really enjoyed it! took me a while to get the hang of the equipment system, but once i did, chaining combos with Rose was a blast. i also really enjoyed how easily you could change party members (unlike in tob where it costs 1 BG!) in the middle of a fight. and MAN i never get tired of seeing those sweet, sweet mystic artes animations. <3 <3 <3 it increases any character's coolness factor three-fold.

my main gripe in berseria was the terrible dungeon design. at the beginning, zestiria did a better job at putting in puzzles in dungeons so as to not make the same mistake that berseria did, but then...towards the second half of the game...it was pretty much all berseria-like dungeons of endless same-looking rooms with endless enemies (the DLC dungeon being a prime example of this). which is honestly just terrible and boring, but at least the gameplay makes the fights seem not AS tedious...

i also felt like zestiria did a better job with the music than berseria did. i can hardly recall any song i liked in berseria (there's like two or three i'd put in my vgm collection), but for zestiria, i'm gonna need to hunt down quite a few. also, i could actually remember the names of the towns/locations and what they looked like. in berseria, i felt like i was going town after town but for the life of me i couldn't remember at ALL what we did there in the first place. i really just felt like i was passing through each town not learning much about the place, but in zestiria i really got a feel of each town, so that was nice!

oh, and the ending i felt was...kind of weak lol especially cus...no one talked at all??? it was so weird haha in tos, tota, dotnw, and tob we have the characters at least saying SOMETHING in the ending but in toz it was just...animations and that's it lol. so glad we got a DLC cus i would have been PISSED seeing just rose leave off like that without saying a word and then...they show us her GRAVE??? i always think "wow i wish they would show us how the future of (insert favorite characters here) are like!! :)" but seeing rose's grave made me so sad (as well as eizen's and magilou's) like nononono you do NOT show my favorite characters just DEAD!! >:'v but anyway, yeah i mean it was an ok ending but nothing that made me feel with a great gap in my heart like tob's or tos's did. like mikleo seeing sorey again at the end? cool. did it make me feel something like when tear sees luke again at the end of tota? sadly, no. :(

and last but not least, the DLC. i mean, i absolutely LOVED seeing the girls in the team going out on their own little adventure and just interacting and talking with each other!!! lailah + edna + alisha + rose...who doesn't love that?? we got to see more of rose being the badass that she is and uh yeah her and alisha? totally gay for each other...like that last scene before they kill the final boss?? just A+++ material (except that terrible last dungeon AND the HORRID design of the last bosses??? dragons with purple bright titties so that the player will know they're FEMALE dragons??? LMAO)

oh wow i wrote more than i thought i would but uh yeah. all in all: DEFINITELY NOT a bad game, has a great cast of interesting and fun characters (except sorey) but sadly the game doesn't delve too deep into them as in other tales game, DLC was a fun addition to see more of who i thought was going to be a greater protagonist in the main story, but overall when compared to other tales of games, the weak plot puts it second-to-last in my list of tales games i've played. would i play it again? definitely :)

"Why if I do even need to ask for? Just bullshit ..." he asked, barely bothering to look in your direction while he watched the news ... at least try to pretend he cared.

After the raid of the hassaikai, the league of villains; especially because of Shigaraki; taking his arms, taking away what little significance was left for the poor man, Chisaki had simply put everything aside ... his interest in things and knowledge, his goal of "cleaning the world", even of at least care about his physical and especially mental state ... the reason why you two are having this conversation right now. The only thing that he seemed to not have lost hope or interested thankfully was you.

"I just thought that maybe it was something to help you ... "you answered quietly, gently approaching and sitting right next to him" a psychologist may be a good idea especially after everything ... happened. That co-worker of mine can help and- "

"With all due respect (Y / n), I'd rather rot in Tartarus than accept someone else's help ... After all," he sighed, an empty, melancholy look in his golden eyes "that's what I deserve . "

"Stop." you immediately spoke right away, eyes burning with the urge to cry at his words. "Please, we already had this conversation ... you don't deserve it." leaning your head on his shoulder you can feel how tense his body was but soon relaxed ... as if he had actually released a weight from his shoulders.

 

sighing, your boyfriend finally seemed to slowly return to the real world than the torment that had turned his head as he looked at you.

"You're going on yours at least I hope." you nodded, gritted your teeth and widened your eyes when you saw the familiar green hair of the boy responsible for literally almost beating Kai.

You tried to take control before Kai saw it but already feeling his body tensing and the way his shoulders started to shake you already knew that he had already seen the boy.

You barely remedy what you at least think of the boy named Deku ... upset and irritated because he beat your boyfriend along with the other almost hero Lemillion beat his boyfriend or pity and fear if Chisaki happened to find him. As much as he no longer had his arms, he was still strong ... you have already witnessed several tantrums and breakdowns of his in the last few monthswhwre he had torned the small apartment you two lived now down ... his depression and panic attacks and paranoia were horrible .... but with sure what hurt you the most was when he woke up from a nightmare ... feeling a torturous pain in the place where his arms were supposed to be ... but all this was psychological pain. kai knew how much it affected you, and knowing that you were too stubborn to leave him, he insisted that you do therapy instead of him.

"Let's...turn this off." you mumbled before taking the remote and turning off the tv after turning to him and massaging his shoulders until he saw that he had calmed down at least a little.

"You know ... how about you come with me tomorrow?" you commented, happy that you had finally unlocked him a little "The same place where my therapist is where he is hospitalized and-"

"No ... he would be the last person who would at least enjot my presence angel." you frowned, your hope to at least pay a visit to the poor elderly in a coma fails again. You knew the amount of guilt and sorrow Chisaki carried of putting Pops on a coma, but behind that cold facade and th walls he had constructed, you knew better... You knew that he his intentions truly weren't on the bad side, but even you had to agree he had gone way too far on his path.

Sighing, you stood up, making Kai look i to your eyes questionably before you kissed his cheek lovingly mumbling that you were going to make his favorite for the dinner, smiling sadly at how he sighed and leaned on you, mumbling how he didn't deserves you and such things.

You went to the kitchen before jumping at your notification on your cellphone and beaming happilh at your door frame.

"Ne ne! Hon!" You put the box you just had received and openes for him to see, hoping to see him lighten up a bit.

You smiled and almost teared up when he gave one look at the box and let out a weak chuckle, looking at you with adoration.

"Seems like I wont be needing feeding anymore." He commented as you jumped on him to cage his frame on a hug as tears threteaned to spill from your eyes.

That was the first time in months Chisaki had come close to even smilling... things were slowly starting to get better... but yet, you knew it was never going to return back the way it was... and the worst?

You knew that not only you felt something was missing.

The next day you woke up feeling your boyfriend's arms prototics holding you close to your chest, the back of your neck feeling the warmth of his breath while his lips lightly brushed your skin. You mumbled to yourself seeing the schedule and gently raising the fake arms for you to slip past them to get out of the bed. Uou smiled when you saw and heard how Chisaki complained in his sleep at the loss of your warm, getting close to him and giving him a kiss first on his temple then lightly on his lips, stroking his hair for good measure.

Getting ready and leaving a note for Kai to see when he wakes up, you left your apartment for another appointment with your therapist ... after of course going to a flower shop.

"Good luck with your father-in-law, young lady"

"Thank you doctor" you responded by leaving the office and walking through the hospital corridors, avoiding the eyes of doctors and nurses when you passed and went to the room where he was. You entered with the permission of the secretary, your heart and body always seemed to freeze when seeing Pops in the vegetative state, machines saving him from death but not bringing him back from the coma that Kai had put him in.

"Good morning Pops." you whispered, exchanging the dead flowers on the table next to the machines to replace them with the new ones you had bought before your consultation "I came as every time."

Taking a chair and dragging it to the side of the bed you sat down with a sigh before smilling at the sleeping elder.

"... we miss you. All of us, both subordinates and me and ... Kai." you bit your lip before you started saying "I don't know if you can really hear me every time I say this, but I swear to you that Kai just wanted to make you proud... Pops if you knew how much he suffers and regrets doing this to you ... " you wiped the tears from your eyes with the back of your sweater. You looked at the old man's face ... resting on the hospital bed for months now.

"Doctors say that even at your age you are a fighter." you giggled before returning your attention "... I tried to bring him here but he feels so guilty that he has no courage to come face you again .... please if one day you wake up again, forgive him, please... you were the only one he trusted and respected since childhood ... "you sighed before taking the bag and giving the elderly a small and careful hug as he used to do while he was awake" I ask a thousand pardons for him... I’ll be back next week Pops, maybe I can get him to come here next time! " you giggled sadly before frowning. Saying a little goodbye, you went towards the door ... but when you touched the maceneta you froze, hearing the sound of the mattress twinks and the fabric of the sheets moving ... looking slowly over your shoulder you gasped in astonishement and shock, bringing your hands to cover your mouth while your eyes watered when you saw tired gray eyes and the little smirk that the elderly person gave you in your bed even with numerous tubes in it.

"How good it is to see you again my dear. How long have I been away?"

"Sir is truly a miracle that you woke up from this coma honestly." The doctor said in astonishment as you awkwardly finsighed mumbling explaining all what had happened during the elder's absence.

"The shie hassaikai members are ALL on jail?" Pops asked calmly but you cringed hard at seing how wide were his eyes as you nodded.

"We're... trying to pay Chro- I m-mean Kurono! To get out of prison though... is a start." You clenched your jaw as Pops muttered something to God as he burried his face on one of his hands.

"Well." The doctor smiled at you both as she made her exit "You still have to spend one week to check up, but soon you will be able to go away wuth your..?"

"Daughter in law." The elder sighed, finally lifted his head up to show his gratitude to the medic before she left. Looking back at you "How is my granddaughter? Eri? I suppose you didn't know about the plan that boy had on his mind."

"Y-yeah.. She is on the hands of the hero Eraserhead, as far as I know of, the U.A took her custody to help her to control her quirk for real this time." You grabbed his hand and squezzed assuringly "She is on good hands Pops. I promise you."

"For once." He sighed before giving you a smile. Your phone buzzed and you excused yourself to pick it up.

"Hey hon.." you spoke as Pops furrowed hsi eyebrows, mentioning with his hands that he also wanted to hear.

"Where are you? Your apointment should had ended by one half an hour ago?" The nonchantly voice of Chisaki made you worry about how Pops body seemed tense as he montioned for you to jot speak a thing about him.

"U-uh... it got longer?"

"You're shit at lying, you know that right?" Pops smirked while you blushed a bit.

"Sorey sorry.." you rubbed the back of your neck a bit "I-I went to that place where they sell those sweets you like, that's all."

You heard a sigh and frowned at how tired your boyfriend sounded as he spoke on a vulnerable tune you had grew used to on the past few months... but Pops widened his eyes, almost not recognizing the vouce behind that cellphone.

"Just hurry up and get back home... I feel like one of those is about to come again.." he spoke as if that were a burden, you hummed immediately promising him to be home soon before saying how much you lobed him and hanging up.

"One fo those?"

"For these past few months he had gotten depression and some PTSD attacks..."

"Hironic." The eldery sarcastically chuckled with bitter as he leaned up his back on the mattress "He was the one to put my grandauther through hell, put me on a coma, ruin the whole bussines of my family and now, he is the one with depression." You furrowed your eyebrows at that. Taking a breath in, knowing that was something that could happen you talked back.

"I know the things he had done were wrong Pops... but believe me when I say he just wanted to-"

"(Y/n) my dear. As much as I know how generous you are, you can't actually try to be on Chisaki's side this time." He glared at you as you gulped "I lost count on how much I tried talking him out of those absurd ideas of his, but as always a stubborn one, he continued on and left the path I tried to teach him for years."

"Well, with all respect sir, you cant totally blame him if he was raised by a mafia boss no less." You grumbled as the elder narrowed his eyes at you for the first ever time.

"I taught him manners. He was the one who didn't followed them. Preffering to take this dark and horrific path. The yakusa is superior to villains and what he does? Becomes one of them despite fighting others that we are not? Is he bipolar now?!"

"Pops please just listen to me... We both know he suffered before you took him in, he feels in debt with you ever since that day."

"And he retributes me with this. Putting me on a coma."

"Pops I-"

"Stop defending him kid!" He yelled and you flinched away from him in shock "That man put my own grandaughter through hell and used her as some lab rat experiment, and now not only i lost my own daughter but her as well!"

Silence consumed the room... you felt at the verge of crying before taking a huge breath in determination. You wont let him, you wont let the man who created the one you love speak like that without you giving him a reason.

"Kai done these things, thats for sure ... but his whole life he felt trapped by the fact that he never got to repay you. He had absurd ideas for that? Of course, I will not cover up his errors. But I am not going to let even you Pops speak like that. Since you already knew he wasn't listening to you, why didn't you take him away from Shie Hassaikai's work and just put more pressure on him saying that he would, one day, be the new boss? Your sucessor no less?! " he remained his glare to his hospital room window "... he just wanted you to be proud of him .. so he still protects Shie Hassaikai's honor ... Pops do you even know that he lost only his arms still fighting to give you something?!" You cried as the old man opened his eyes wide and finally looked back at you "For the past months he and I have been in our personal hell, he has nightmares every night! Do you even happen to remember that you had to comfort him the first night he slept at your house? imagine the attack only ten times worse! do you even know how it was to see him begging me for me to kill him ?! "you sobbed while the man was still in shock to hear what you said and your state.

"my dear why are you still going through this?" he said almost breathlessly while you wiped your tears, almost leaving the room.

"Because I love your son ... and I know he loves you in his own weird and antisocial way ... Please I know that it is very difficult to forgive him, but I beg Pops ... try it... both of you only have each other now...." you sighed and left the room without even saying goodbye to him or the nurses asking if you were okay.

Two weeks had passed after that. You remained a secret that Pops woke up from his coma to prevent Chisaki to fell on one of those nerve train racking thoughts of his...

"You win this ever time, is not fair." You whined as your boyfriend smiled, replacing the many pieces back on the shoji board back again.

"So why do you even still insist on playing it then with me no less dearest?" He asked, not exactly expecting an answer before he froze at the way you kept looking at him with love.

"Because is your favorite game. And I love seing you happy while playing it." You giggled at the immediate scoff to hide his blush as he closed his eyes, his black mask preventing you to show his smile as he mumbled an affectionate "crazy woman".

You giggled even more at that. Things were surely better than they could have been. Thanks to your teraupist you were also able to help your own boyfriend... his attacks had stopped and you never felt more relieved to see that the bags from beneath his eyes were slowly dissapearing.

"Ugh... im hungry!!!" You whined loudly again, rolling over to lay your head on his lap as he looked down at you with an arched eyebrow.

"What do you want me to do about it?"

"Take out." You proclaimed before he flipped your nose.

"Absolutely not. Is disgusting." He growled as you whined and put your bottom lip out.

"One time it won't hurt! Pleaseeee???? Please my devil??" You smiled mentally at seing the tip of his ears going red "please my handsome cutie softie delicious-" he hushed you with one of his fake finger son your lips as he growled.

"Fine fine, have your way brat. Jesus Christ you're so spoiled." He offered you one of his last used, that the police couldn't track, credit cards as you lowered his mask to kiss him.

"Says who again?" You giggled before sighing in bliss when he brought you close, you stradling his lap as you circled his neck with your arms, contained your noises as he trailed his kisses down to your jaw.

It has been so long since you two had-

You both growled when your cellphone ringed, but Kai still stood on his track as he mumbled in your ear for you to pick up... although he still continued to carres your thighs as he vould feel them again and lay kisses in the crook of your neck.

You widened your eyes though whem you saw that it was from the hospital... you had beem visiting and making conpany to Pops even despjte the argument you had gotten to him, but now it seemed he was free to go... shit. You couldn't hide this anymore from Kai.

Although you gasped back to the current reality when you felt a certain... hardness on his lap.

"If you tell me you have to go Im setting this place on fire." He mumbled in your neck as you whined. That surely must be the worst cockblock you two had in your relationship. You nodded as he growled again, making yourself out of his laps, he let you go hesitantly.

"What is even about this time?" He said nonchantly as he adjusted his hair back.

"I... have to go to the hospital."

"Is that therapist of yours again?" He asked in annoyance as you left in a hurry, crossing his arms and auspecting at your attitudem

"I-It will be quick!"

"You didn't answer my-" and the door closed while he sighed loudly looking up at yhe ceilingx having to deal with the problem you had caused down there "Fucking brat." He growled out loud standing up with a hiss to go to the shower.

The drive back from the hospital was so awkward... the pregnant silence making you go crazy as Pops remained quietly the entire ride.

"I thought a lot about what you said once my dear." You yelped and looked at him in surprise.

"Eh?"

He smiled before looking at you with a serene expression.

"I was never once a good father example for both my actual daughter or Chisaki. Part of me didn't want to believe, but Kai needed more than just my help after I took him in... Guess he took on my stubborness."

"N-no, that was not what I meant-"

"Relax kid... I just recalled what you said back there when you left. There is nothing left for me asides from trying to at least solve things with Chisaki... I cant thank you enough, both of me and him weren't on the right side, so is not on place of me to judge him... specially when I tortured a childhood friend of my once."

... wait whAT-?!

The train stopped and you hesitantly took Pops hand when he offered it to help you stand up.

You two walked before you stopped by the front of your apartment complex as you looked at Pops uncertainly, but he only nodded with a smile.

"Is time for me to speak with him after who knows how long."

You shakily entered your apartment as coincidentally Kai emerged from the tiny hall, drying his hair with a towel, already dressed on his casual clothes as he opened one of his eyes to look at you.

"Better have a good explanation or else punishment is going to be extra harder." He smirked devilish and you would have gotten turn on if it weren't from right after he widened his amber eyes as if he had saw a ghost as Pops entered, crossing his arms as he looked back at Chisaki.

"Hello, Chisaki." He spoke seriously before smilling at how the man he created for years now seemes as a fragile boy who had been caught for doing sonething silly.

You aproached Chisaki slowly before taking his hand, making him look at you to remind him it wasn't one of his paranoia events... Pops was there. Smilling at him.

It was real.

The elder aproached, a small still present on as he looked at Chisaki.

"You seem way better than the last time I saw you. I'm glad to see that."

He couldn't speak, his throat was sore, it hurted too mcuh to even breath near this man again. He knew what had happened, so why on hell was this old geezer smilling at him iut of all people?! He could feel his eyes start to burn as he clenched on your hand before flinching violently when a hand that wasn't yours rested on his shoulder.

"I'm not mad at you. Is all in the past, I know your intentions weren't what happened... and I forgive you, Kai." He pulled Chisaki for a hug and the man himself tensed accidentaly letting go of your hand and lifting his metal arms in the air awkwardly. "But I hope one day you can still forgive me for not being a good father to you... my son."

That was the last straw for the man once called himself the name of his quirk, to break completely. He cried, silently, but the river of tears falling down his eyes was still there as he clenched the back of the man as he trembled... muttering how he hated himself and how much he was ashamed and sorry as Pops also apologized.

You smiled at the scene, trying to left the room but failing when your boyfriend and Pops called you back instantly... these two had still long to talk... but Kai still wanted you there. With him. As he always wanted.

After all, you and Pops were the only concept of family he ever had learned.

Hi! I'm also watching Tales of Zestiria, but I can't play the game. I saw your posts about how anime isn't... accuarate at best. Could you tell me more about the changes in the story that anime made? With spoilers and everything, I'd like to know how much I'm missing.

Oh dear did they change A LOT! 

While I’m not most knowledgeable at all Tales of Zestiria lore and for more accurate of everything-what-anime-mess-up  @talesofsymphoniac would definitely know much more. 

But lets just say 1st season for biggest part was somewhat close to original except the very end where it started to deviate so much more, and personally I think that that’s the beginning of down fall of the anime.

Aside minor things like Berseria moments that would have been so much cooler if whole anime was done differently, they weren’t in original. And I don’t find myself missing those little bits in game, I mean it does give bit more depth to to the lore and all, but like it was a good idea but it sort of just flopped.

Then lets tackle Alisha matter, in game she left party before Rose joined, she was quite great character and while I did wanted more of her, the way anime gave us Alisha, in my opinion was way sad. In game she grew so much, and although hurt because Maltran actually had been hellion and betrayed Alisha, honestly I’d suggest to look it up on google, that moment actually made me tear up, unlike how we had Maltran as supportive mentor in anime till the end, all that drama with Alisha’s father frankly wasn’t given in game and in anime itself it sort of fell flat… 

Rose joined part COMPLETELY differently, she saved Sorey after he first faced Lord of Calamity in Glaivend Basin, and she is afraid of ghosts, having seraphim speak to her without her seeing them had terrified her, even after she could see them, at times they still scared her when she heard only their voices. And what happened in anime? Oh but of course she spoke to Dezel calmly even though she COULD NOT SEE HIM. and while its minor deviation, I think it kinda gives more character to her, but whatever… 

Anyway Rose story line deviated FAR too much to make comparison, 

and so it failed some Sergei moments, but at least even in cluster fuck of what anime is he still fairly same in the personality wise, at least. 

Back to squires for min, Alisha never got armatus, she just didn’t have big enough resonance, that in anime was completely forgotten but oh well,,, Also none of that telepathic bs with squires and shepherd. 

Dragon purification in game was impossible, unless you count Maotelus, but for that Sorey went to sleep for who ever knows how long. And the fact that Edna had to give up on purifying her brother and accept that only way to save him is to kill him, and in game for me it was actually emotional moment too, but in anime, they can save him,,, and so like yay? I guess… I like Eizen, really but whole purifying dragons just takes away from Sorey character bit too much…

Reason why Sorey was amazing protagonist in the game, because he was simple nerd, he wasnt all that special, didnt have grand ambition till later on in the game, after he saw world and all, and not making him any better than other Shepherds that were before him, keeping him as human as possible, that made him amazing, but in anime he suddenly can purify dragons that no one could before him, I’m sorry what? Also maybe due to keeping game mechanics consistent you couldn’t armatize with all seraphim at the same time, and honestly it was quite nice that there were ground rules, they kinda important, anime seems to be going like whatever seems cool, and I kinda understand why anime only fans would like it, but for those who are familiar with the game, its like ripping all the world rules apart and throwing it all out of the window, well not cool… 

Mayvin, the story teller was really important too, he told of how the Lord of Calamity was born, he, true to his title, told what truly happened in the Camlann, and boy it was far more important then just birth of the Lord of Calamity, it was also Mikleo’s and Sorey’s back story, and why a human boy, Sorey, was in care of Zenrus, a seraphim. Because you said spoilers are okay, let me tell you that that the baby Mihael sacrificed was actually Mikleo, hence why he is a young seraphim and even was show as a child while none of the other seraphim were, seraphim were once humans, unless its animal seraphim, but you get what I mean, yea. And while it was hinted in anime with the tiara thingy he took from Muse, if you knew about it you see it right away, but not sure if everyone could have made the connection, not saying no one would, but yea, it was truly down played,,, Also in the original, now, it’s been while, but Im pretty sure Lailah knew of how it all ended in Camlann, also in the game all party saw the story, not just Sorey and Lailah, so it had far bigger impact. 

Symonne never turned to dragon, and lets keep it at that.

Honestly anime changed so much details, that drawing a comparison is almost impossible anymore. Its like an AU, with many major important and not that big details that made the game so charming completely ruined. Its like anime have completely different set of rules that weren’t even given to us properly. 

Surely, when you aren’t familiar with source material at all, it is cool anime. I have seen even those that are familiar with the game and enjoy the anime. Personally to me, I’m just waiting for it to end, to see if they put it as some sort of Tainted AU, or they keep to original ending, but that seems unlikely,,,  

I’m sorry, I’m just very salty, if you liked the characters I do suggest to play the game or if you cannot, then watch walkthrough on youtube or something, its good story, it really is. It’s just that anime changed so much, destroying most of what I loved about  the game.

Ok first off before we get to the actual ask I have just realised I have absolutely no clue who your favourite Zestiria character is, so... which Zesty character is your favourite? :> And for the actual tales game ask, Tales of Graces f with questions 8 and 10!!

Hmmm, I think my favourite zesty character must be Mikleo. I tend to dump horrible things at my favs and that's probably the reason Winterkind exists xD

Nah, it's just that he reminds me of myself a lot in the way he acts but at the same time I love his character development and the relationship he has with Sorey. I just like Mikleo, okay xD

Now for Graces!!

8 - favorite town/city/area

Hmmm, I think I'd say Lhant, it just grew dear to me with how much time is spent in there and all the beautiful moments (and the less beautiful ones as well, guess it's just the amount of diverse memories you make here). It's the place the main characters grew up in and you also notice how much Asbel really loves his hometown, so yeah, I guess I share his sentiment. The fact that you can get a cat following you around if you finish one side quest is also a nice bonus xD

But I also like Barona, for similar reasons. And Lhant Hill - and this place is also really, really beautiful. I mean, come on, an awesome flower meadow with a single tree at a steep cliff, who wouldn't love this kind of place!

Easy xD the piano version of the opening! Really, that one did things to me I can't explain in words, it just hit differently.
