I think the fact that Ganondorf has suffered so much is what makes him so compelling to me. Fiction is rife with villains who never suffer the consequences of their actions. Gan has had consequences out the wazoo. But he never stops fighting, because his spirit is truly unconquerable. On a related note (sorry, this thing doesn't seem to paragraph very well), I think that gloom is very different from malice. Consider the terminology: malice is the will to do harm, gloom is sorrow and depression.

That is certainly what drew me to him to begin with, as Wind Waker was what completely made me change my mind about him as a character. It took some time, but eventually I started to comprehend, I mean really comprehend the ending, all the things he says to you. Then watching him lose everything and mentally break for the last time before your very eyes.

I realized. He had been so determined, because this one goal was all he had left. He didnt even want the Triforce at the end, he wanted to be rid of it because he was tired. He wanted an ending to this fucked up story.

Then he watched the one thing that would have kept him going get taken from him and was left with nothing. Nothing to go back to and not a friend in the world, because this was not his world at all. He broke down completely for those reasons but also because it was just so predictable, so fucking like fate to do this to him, he couldn't help but see the irony even as his soul was shattered.

He didn't attack Link because he wanted to take these kids down with him (If he did then let's be honest, both link and tetra especially would have died) but he attacked Link because the kid had the one thing in the world that could kill him, and he was ready to use it. Ganon was never the type to just lay down and give up. To the very end, to his suicide, he went down fighting. It was what he wanted. A final wish, I guess, that was ultimately just to die.

I related with that and it hurt so deeply. It still does. I can still barely watch the ending, as much as I love seeing him in action. The ending just breaks me every time. Because for him and his people, everything truly is hopeless.

As for gloom and malice, I can see the discrepancy. They're parts of his strongest negative emotions. I find it kind of fascinating that the malice was the Subconscious (calamity) while the gloom happens when he's actually waking up. Rage and depression go hand in hand with him, really.

She figured if she walked a little and breathed fresh air it would help her sleep when she got home.

Okay now that I’m all caught up. I have a few thoughts.

1. I was hoping going back to the beginning would help me understand Solomon a bit more and it did. However, not necessarily in his favor.

2. It feels like him and Shekinah ended up in a marriage of convenience but not for her but for his benefit. Perhaps he felt obligated because she is the mother of his children and wanting to live up to the legacy of his father????

3. I feel bad for Taryn but I hope she moves on. Maybe even decides to transfer to a different department. Especially since she went there with him again. Which is unfortunate because they work so well together. The entire team is a dream team of detectives.

4. I want Shekinah to be happy, however that manifests whether it be with him or someone else. Right now he’s seems a bit preoccupied with work and he’s been avoiding anything else that requires work and commitment outside of that at the moment. But I don’t think he’s a bad guy at all. Just one who does a lot of avoidance.

Anyway I’m glad I’m all caught up. It was a really easy read. I’m enjoying the story and looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds for all of them.

Solomon is far from perfect and though I have not said this (and idk if I should say it now or "play it out") but what I will say is Solomon's lack of commitment stems from the dynamic his parents had. Also the pressure to be with someone he did not really want to be with.

This is a VERY good point and very close to the truth. I'am trying to use this chapter (chapter 2) to explain their history and give further clarity on why they are married and also why they do not work together.

I feel bad for Taryn but at the same time this is a grown ahh woman with so many privileges. But she is just human I guess... In the long run Taryn will eventually see the light. But for now sis is like a deer stuck in headlights u_u

I want Shekinah to be happy but her issue is she is too concerned with public opinion. She is that type of girl that will brag about her being a "wife" and being "married" even if it is all in shambles!

Continuing the thread from my last ask, I saw some takes about how that scene with gerrard is actually tommy's "redemption" as in they are showing us that he was also bullied by their captain which is why he acted the way he did in the past and why he frezees and says nothing and honestly I did not think to hard about this scene I was mostly just annoyed about how tommy had no reaction but I can get behind it if he froze because of an instinctual reaction to protect himself - it would have worked better if chim wasn't in the scene cuz it kind of made it look like they want us to belive tommy endured the same treatment as chim and hen and that was definitely not the case...

I am a firm beliver that people can be idiots, cowards and can make tons of mistakes, but can also change so tommy's past actions are not the reason why I can't root for the character, it's the way he acts in the prezent that bothers me and establishing that he also endured his share of bulling should help his character but for me it did the complete opposite, I know that might not make sense but i'll explain

So we have this guy that we know was repressed and who probably had to hide who he was for most of his life and now we also know he was bullied and who in the present is presented to us as someone who grew as a person and became better version of himself and who seems to be happy and free

So then, why does he act like a complete jackass on his first date with buck? If he is the kind of person who freezes and can't say a word in front of his bully, if he struggled his entire life with who he is, shouln't he understand buck's reaction when eddie came? I know there are people who say his closet joke is not that deep, that he was hurt by the way buck acted and that he left because he saw buck is not ready, but in light of this he was bullied too I can't understand how can anyone defend his actions on his date with buck, if you are a person that had horrible past experiences (and I don't mean just regarding sexuality) why would you have that kind of attitude? Why not chose to be kind and extend to buck the treatment you would have liked to receive? Like tommy knew how new everything was for buck, he was aware and if he didn't want to deal with what that meant for buck he shloudn't have gone with him on a date

I'am rambling, sorry, but this new info about tommy gave certain people more reasons to defend him and there are certain situations (like the date) in which he does not deserve it🫣🤭

i got this before the finale but wanted to wait and see if tommy was in it before answering. you pretty much hit the nail on the head, but i wanted to add how he acted on the date in the finale. dismissing buck calling bobby his dad, and then dismissing buck trying to find common ground (strained relationship with biological father) doesn't give me hope for a possible character redemption. i think it's more likely tommy's actions during his time at the 118 under gerrard are brought up, and if it is i can't wait to see it

i'am brazilian and i love my nt. i will always support them, and ofc, i will be happy when we win and sad when we lose. it's part of being a fan.

to me, it was quite obvious that we didn't have clear chances in the copa america. this is the beginning of dorival's work, and colombia, uruguay, and argentina are much more organized and playing better (all credit to them for doing a good job).

but in less than a month, i encountered the following situations:

• vini jr. accusing a journalist of trying to turn the fans against the players after a very well-done analysis and criticism btw

• footballers, coaching staff, and CBF outraged by receiving criticism from fans and journalists

• players showing total disrespect by leaving the COACH out of the decision on who would take the penalties (dorival had to raise his hand to try to speak and still wasn't heard)

• after the defeat, endrick stated that some players could be on vacation instead of training for 37 days under the hot sun, and therefore we brazilians should support them

• andreas pereira disrespecting uruguay and "saying that many people are hurt by brazil's five stars"

• a team with footballers who insist on the narrative that fans are persecuting them simply bc they are arrogant, egocentric, and disrespectful

so, worse than seeing my national team lose is seeing what they are becoming and how they do not represent me at all
