cat was the first mv that had come out after i got into milgram, and i actually remember feeling really indifferent about her at the time 😭 like she didn’t stand out to me too much and i thought her younger design was “meh” (how foolish i was…)

but THIS specific frame of her is so cute like. sometimes i’ll draw certain emotions toward certain frames of characters for some reason and this one got stuck in my head. i usually change my pfps after 2-3 months because i get tired of them but i have never gotten tired of this one, i’ve had it for almost a year now (on both pinterest and here). she’s such a litel tiepnsy 💚

anyway after that i just kinda got attached to her and i wrote MILLIONS of headcanons for her, like i have a whole google doc of all of them so that i don’t forget. i would share them but i’ve been reserving them for my ask blog so i guess they’re kinda considered spoilers (?). here are a few though. i kind of made her have “uhm akschually ☝️🤓” syndrome on accident

i think what made me love her so much was how much room there was for headcanons. as i wrote more, i’d have to fill in more blanks since there’s hardly anything about her, so i guess she is just this whole fully fleshed character in my head even though that’s not the case 😭 but it also made me form some headcanons for kazui as well, especially for his past with hinako, so i got attached to him too by proxy

i feel like it’s not too noticeable since i talk about her a lot, but i had to take a sort of “break” from writing her behind the scenes because i noticed that i was getting too attached. i wanted to kinda back off until i could be normal about her again 😭 (impossible task but at the same time it was a good idea because it made me refresh my view on hinako and kazui’s dynamic)

anyway there’s probably more but that’s the gist of it and i don’t want to write an overwhelming amount 💔 thank you for letting me blabber about my wife

It occurs to me now that we’re past February 22nd in 2024, which means it’s been an entire year since I started a little fan-comic project… that I never finished. I quit somewhere around June for a number of reasons and I even posted some wips on my blog for it, but I never said anything about stopping. I still have no idea why anyone would reblog those. But even if I didn’t finish it, I think it made me a better artist.

I would set up my phone camera to take my own reference photos, but I didn’t have a tripod or anything so I’d prop it up with things I had on hand and try to get the angle as close as I imagined it. I think drawing poses I was making myself helped. I set my expectations super high though. I’d never done a comic before, even though I wanted this to be really good. I had set that standard for myself. But starting out I didn’t even draw the borders for the panels! I just starting drawing stuff and thought “oh I’d draw the box later.” I figured it out pretty quick, don’t worry. I even drew blueprints of the rooms the characters would be in and drew in little “cameras” to properly visualize how the background would look from specific angles.

I started paying more attention though to comics whenever I’d see them. Seeing how the panels flowed and how they were cut. Mine looked nothing like that but I wasn’t even planning on drawing the boxes so yeah that checks out. I did a second attempt on a different comic that I would have never finished because it would be way too long- but I had more fun coming up with ideas for panel layout. Having the different shapes and flow tell the story. It was cool. I really liked it.

I’d been thinking every couple of months of going back to that comic project, actually finishing it. Once I opened it up and almost immediately died of cringe. The earlier stuff was nowhere on par of the later stuff, so I’d thought I’d have to redo it. But actually, with how terrible the layout is, I’d have to redo the entire thing anyway at the foundation. I like to think I’d make it better.

But I haven’t drawn people in months. I’m scared to honestly. People are complex and complicated, I don’t want things to look bad. And I don’t know how to color, but I want so badly for my stuff to be in color. None of the stuff on my blog is in color, just black and white with no shading or with like a cream aura to it. I’m worried about getting back into drawing again. But I want and have been meaning to. I want to draw my own characters and nice little illustrations and I’ve been wanting to make a new pfp for months. The one I have now is one I had done back in October of 2022 and that took so long because I wanted it to be good.

I want to, I really do. But it’s hard to sit down and knowingly make something that’s going to look horrible in a couple of weeks or even days. It’s not impossible, but it’s hard.

About the kids’ story, I actually finished it 20 October (I wrote the date down so I’ll never forget) and I’m still kind of mourning it. It was so fun to write but it had to end and I was actually crying while writing it, not only because of it coming to an end but mainly because of what I had to write. I  think I told you about the main plan I had for the ending and I wrote that and everything that happened afterwards and it was not pleasant to write but it makes sense and I don’t regret it. I also want to tell you something small that I kept forgetting to in our previous conversations so is it alright if I DM it to you at some point? It’s super heartbreaking though, so be warned. But I was excited about finishing it for sure. I even wrote a list of everything that I still had to write and made sure I wrote at least one chapter every day until the end. The reason I mentioned 20 February was because I posted my Yata story on 18 and 19 February 2022 so I’ll start posting it on the two year anniversary of that story and because this one is so damn long (484 pages 😅), I know it will likely take around 3 days to post since the Yata story which is 336 pages took two days.

And kind of. Two in fact, though I first want to finish or get closer to finishing some of my other WIPs. The first idea is a shortish story of Haruki and Miiko’s child, Sumiko. She’s someone I’d like to explore since I’ve already got ideas about what she’ll be like in my mind and I’d like to write them down and see how they turn out. I say shortish because I’ll probably write until she’s 20 or so so because I don’t want to kill anyone of the older generation and want to leave that out in the open. Also because ma’am is not someone who’ll want a long term relationship so there also won’t be a wedding to work towards. In other story the main character will be Hinata’s older sister, Naomi. I wrote in the kids’ story that she’s married and her husband appears in a few scenes and because they’re both such nice people, it’d be interesting to write about them. Though Noami is still Hinata’s sister (an Ishida) so I presume she does have a fighter in her even if she doesn’t tend to be aggressive.

You definitely did. You deserve a good life and the way you were being treated wasn’t helping with that. And good luck in your journey. Right back at ya. You’re amazing as well and I hope that no matter what happens in the future, you remember that.

I really am and I am glad you are considering it a win-win! Honestly, I worry my writing has lost some of it's original touch and appeal but I am just trying, getting back into the swing of things, and honestly just having as much fun with it as I possibly can so I'm trying hard not to let the worrying of it get to me. And wow, congratulations on finishing it! I know what you mean by still mourning it because it was such a big part of you and your writing for a long time, it was something fun and an amazing break from reality for little sections of your day, much like this blog is to me, and it feels like a loss and you need to grieve it once it's no longer there or once you have finished it! I can definitely see why you would have been crying while writing too, especially remembering the kind of plan you had for the ending and I look forward to reading it and crying myself! Also, it's oddly comforting to realize I'm not the only one who cries sometimes while writing angst haha. And I think that's so goddamn amazing, the posting it on the anniversary of your other story! I love that!

I'm glad to hear you have other stories in mind and plans still in the same universe as that. It would be fun and interesting to see how Sumiko does turn out, what kind of person she'll be and how her life kind of turns out! And I can get what you mean by not wanting until adulthood because it would force some deaths of the OG's and such and that would hurt a lot, both for the writer and the fans. And hmm, it would be interesting to see some of the side characters, like Naomi, get their own little days in the spotlight. That would be super cute and really delightful so count me a fan of both ideas!

I chose this url cause I’m a huge moon enthusiast, I’ve always gravitated towards the moon ever since I was a child (it’s always calmed and grounded me). And beta well, for multiple reasons! why did you choose your url?

so this is actually super dumb, but it’s a name I came up with when I was still in elementary school and it’s actually a gummy bear reference bc it’s “żelka” in Polish and it was my favorite type of candy 😅; actually I’ve been kinda thinking that I should change it because some minecraft streamer started using the same name and got somewhat popular, making finding my stuff way harder; but at this point I got too used to it since people know me by this name and often call me “Zel” and also I'm too tired to do something about it at this point 🙄 also I’m stubborn

1. Why did you choose your url? i think i chose this back in the heady days of uh. year 8 or 9? for my old ff dot net account and/or deviantart, and it’s just stuck ever since! it was back in my skulduggery pleasant fandom days, and the concept of chosen names has always struck me as pretty cool, so i was messing around with picking one, and clarion glass stuck! it’s been my username for literally everything for years now, and clarion/clari has become the name i respond to on the internet :)

2. Any side blogs? yes but also no? i have three, technically, but none are active anymore. one was set up for a creative project for my greek and roman mythology unit in third year (i was blogging as ariadne, it was a fun time :) ), i’m not gonna give the url to that one because it’s entirely defunct @honestoperarecaps was set up as a study tool for my opera unit bc i thought i’d remember things better if i vented about the operas i had to watch in a mildly humorous way. it worked, but i only had the time and energy for one post :’) if you want to read my vent about don giovanni act one then click on over i guess :P and lastly is the good old school of music quotebook! it’s password locked bc it was just for me and my mates to put up the weird quotes that people said around the department (it was back before the SoM had a name change and became “the con,” so that dates it), and my god there were many. damn, i need to have a reread through those :) @bejewelled2deluxe that was a good time :D

3. How long have you been on tumblr? a while and a half! i think i got it in about 2014 or 15, but i lurked on my mates’ blogs from about 2012 without actually getting an account. so i lived through superwholock, but vicariously :’)

Why did you start your blog in the first place? like i said before, i was a lurker for a good few years before i caved! i’m a fandom nerd, as well as a sucker for a good meme, and the communities that my friends were in seemed pretty chill. i knew for ages i was gonna get a tumblr, but i just didn’t want to distract myself during Important School Times (i was entirely correct in thinking it’d be a black hole for all my time :’) )
