Something kinky this way comes... (and it's probably limping).

Yes, very soon we will be back with our most daring events of the season: the Kink Bingo and the H/C (Hurt/Comfort) Bingo! With the Valentines Day just around the corner, it's time to charge up your toys, prep your bandages and generally brace yourselves for a delicious avalanche of guilt-free indulgence!

As usual, we will be running those 2 events in paraller, so you can take part in both, switch between the two, or take part in just one, and totally ignore the other. They are unrelated to each other.

Basics:

We have 2 Collections: Kink Bingo and H/C Bingo

In each of those, on the 17th of Feb, the prompts are going to be revealed, on a 7x7 card.

We are playing between 17th of February and 17th of March.

Your task is to create something for 7 consecutive fields (horizontally, vertically or diagonally) to achieve a bingo line. 

... Or not. We really have no way of checking who’s completing which line, so you can use it as a free-for-all, pick and choose prompt board, if you prefer. But it’s good to challenge yourself and attempt prompts you wouldn’t normally pick - you may be surprised to find you like it!

Both Collections are fully Anonymous and will remain that way forever. However, you may choose to ‘reveal’ yourself as the author and ‘claim’ your work, if you wish at the end of this event. You don’t have to. More about this below.

Q: But why run those two bingos together?

A: The common theme for these events is that they cover subjects that could be considered ‘guilty pleasures’ or ‘taboo’. We wanted to create a safe environment where these themes can be explored and shared. Plus, they will have identical rules, so it didn’t make sense to run another Bingo event, with a different theme, later in the year.

Q: Do I need to post each response in a separate work or can I have a single work with chapters?

A: We would suggest separate works, because it will make it easier for you to tag it appropriately, and for the readers to search for, or avoid.

Q: Can I create one thing (story or art) for multiple fields in a single bingo card?

A: You can, but we would encourage you not to. The aim of this event is to create as much new content as we can and that doesn’t help it. Having said that, we understand that sometimes brain just connects things and it wants a combo.

Q: Can I create one thing (story or art) that covers both a Kink and H/C scenario?

A: You can, but we would encourage you not to. See: above.

Q: Can I mix and match pairings, e.g. within a single line have 4 FiKi and 3 Britchell?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I create more than one response to a single prompt field, for example for different pairings?

A: Yes, just post them as separate works.

Q: Can I use a prompt that someone else has already used before me?

A: Absolutely.

Q: Can I somehow visualise which line I’m working on, or which prompts I managed to fill?

A: Sure. Feel free to copy the Bingo Card image and start marking off the ones you’ve done. You can then post your updated Bingo Card picture with each response.

Q: Can I comment on the works posted in the Collections?

A: Yes, please do! If you wish to comment anonymously though, you’ll need to log out of your account first and comment as Anon, or open the story in a private tab. The Collection won’t anonymise the commenter’s identity automatically.

Q: How does the ‘Anon’ thing work?

A: The author is displayed as ‘Anonymous’ to everyone, except you. Yes, this includes the mods - we don’t know either. If you wish to respond to your comments, it will automatically show as ‘Anonymous Creator’.

Q: When can I ‘claim’ my works and ‘de-anon’?

A: Please only do this after the event has ended, i.e. after the summary post has gone up. The guessing is part of the fun!

Q: How can I ‘claim’ my works and ‘de-anon’?

A: Simply message @linane-art with the works that are yours and you wish to 'reveal' now. As a mod, I have a way of removing the anon status, while keeping the work in the Collection. It will automatically become your own work, like anything else, and you will not lose any kudos or comments. You may then choose to make an accompanying Tumblr post, if you wish to promote it.

Q: Do I have to ‘de-anon’ at the end of the event?

A: No. You can leave your works as anonymous forever, if you wish.

Q: I am an Artist and I would also like to take part.

A: Great! Fantastic! We’re all dying here to see it! However, because we all have our distinctive art styles, we can’t think of any way to keep you anonymous. If this doesn’t bother you, just play like everyone else, using artwork inspired by the prompts for your responses.

Q: But how to post artwork as a part of event response?

A: Post your artwork on Tumblr or host it elsewhere (Tumblr doesn’t like sexytimes, so it might try to block you). That will give you a hyperlink to the picture itself. Then create a new AO3 work within Kink or H/C Collection, and add a picture (using hyperlink) into the body of the work. If in doubt, message @linane-art for help.

Rules - OF - The Blog

No Racism - This is common sense but some people find this okay. This does not stand right or okay with me in the slightest. I have seen so much hate to oc's and writers, mainly the black oc's and writers. Black oc's and writers are welcomed to this blog, completely. As well as everyone else. Everyone is welcomed, keep it that way or get blocked and called out.

No Homophobia/Transphobia - Many oc's and the writers are welcomed here regardless of sexuality and how they identify themselves or their oc's. I have shipped with many oc's. And I am not uncomfortable with it at all. This is a safe space to truly be who you are. You also do not have to give up your identity to me as a writer, I have no desire to dig into your life, as it's fine to be cautious about who you tell.

Triggers - Respecting triggers is a must, I do not want limits passed and uncomfortable aura falling into our talks outside of character and in character. Please vocalize your triggers, this helps me prevent certain events that may trigger you or myself. Triggers are important and everyone should consider them. I do not want to trigger anyone.

No debates - This is something that happens in spaces that aren't open for it. I'm not open for debates. I do not mind you having your opinion, but no political debate is worth losing fun. I want to roleplay to help other people have fun, I really don't like war zones, as everyone has their own opinion and the chances of everyone seeing eye to eye, is slim.

Religions - I don't mind everyone having a religion, it's completely fine, be mindful of someone that might have a Religion they live by. This is something worth considering, and be mindful of some oc's who possibly have strict lifestyles to live by as well as writer. And, don't be afraid to educate me on your Religion if you feel I'm overstepping it or not understanding it. I would love to learn more.

Have fun - Roleplay is meant for entertainment, having fun is something I want you to do. Be open with your ideas and never be afraid to send them to me, or ask me how I feel about them. We can always plot together, have fun!

Educating is okay!

This has to be said! Do not be afraid to educate me or anyone else if you feel no one is understanding your oc. I have shipped with oc's who are blind, deaf, autistic, depressed, etc. They sometimes even have adhd, sensory processing disorder, ptsd, etc.

This stuff is not forbidden to educate one on, if you have an oc you feel you can't use due to this being a lack of education for some writers. Do not be afraid to text me information regarding this. This will help me fully understand your oc and so I can work with writing and shipping with them without making them or you uncomfortable.

—Haven't you already had one? —the dark-haired man protested.

—Hey! I really hate you sometimes. Don’t move the box away again! —Eli complained as she pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her wavy, black hair. It was quite cold, especially this early.

Sometimes we had breakfast together before work. I work as a professor at the university; I studied psychology and forensic sciences. And Luke… well, he's a criminologist, working in the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit.

—Seriously, give me a damn pastry. I’m hungry, and you’re such a glutton! —She jumped off the bench and tried to grab them.

—What the…? What do you mean by glutton? What’s that? AHAHAHA

—It means you eat a lot, that you eat everything, smartass… —Eli commented, narrowing her dark eyes.

Spencer chuckled, watching the scene, and Rossi held back his own jokes.

—I’ve been with Eli. She’s like my sister, so cut it out with those kinds of comments, will you? It’s… ugh, almost incestuous —his friends reacted with some laughter; they’d heard of her before but didn’t know her—. Anyway, I have to go talk to Emily, see you in a bit.

—Yes, sir… and he dodges work again… —Rossi commented.

—How’s that crossword coming along, Rossi? —Spencer couldn’t resist adding with a grin.

The hustle and bustle of the UAC headquarters was more overwhelming than I had anticipated. I accepted Luke's offer, but now that I was here, surrounded by strangers in an environment that seemed so alien to my world, I was starting to have doubts. "What kind of mess have I gotten myself into?"

—Eli, come here! —He greeted me with his usual carefree smile, the one he wears so well and that always made me feel a bit more at ease, but that also had the power to get me into trouble from which I didn’t know how to get out, because the truth is I’ve never been good at saying no and Luke tends to be very persuasive, he’s always been like that since we were kids. "Okay, Eli, you can do this. Just hold on a bit, meet the people, and then go back to your safe zone."

I need a lot of preparation, and new environments overwhelm me too much. Just at that moment, I heard Luke’s soft voice breaking the silence.

—Don’t worry, Eli, you’ll do well here. Besides, you haven’t met Reid yet. I’m sure you’ll like him —he said with a reassuring smile.

—Yeah... It’s not that... Too many people all of a sudden... All unknown... —I replied with a somewhat forced smile, though I was starting to feel a bit more comfortable. Hopefully, I could handle the situation without seeming like a complete rookie.

—Come on Eli... You can handle this and more. I trust you, so trust yourself too. I love you, okay? —I smiled at him, trying, in part, to feel better about myself.

I arrived later than usual, and when I walked into the office, the first thing I noticed was the new presence in the room. Luke was talking to a woman who, by her posture and the way she looked around, seemed a bit out of place, but still maintained a smile on her face, a smile that looked forced.

As I approached, I could see that she was making a visible effort to fit in. Luke spotted me immediately.

—Reid! —he called out, pointing to the new arrival—. Come here, let me introduce you, our new external consultant. My friend Elisabeth Jackson.

Elisabeth looked at me, and for a second, our gazes met. I don’t know what happened in that moment that threw me off completely. She smiled shyly, and something in her expression made me smile too.

—Hi, Elisabeth. It’s a pleasure to meet you —I said, trying to sound as friendly as possible. Her dark, intense eyes sparkled with an intelligence that seemed to want to analyze every little detail. But also a hint of nervousness that made me smile, recognizing in her someone who, like me, might prefer to be in a quiet library rather than in the midst of a group of talking people.

—Hi, Reid. —She said with a friendly tone, though I perceived a slight tension in her voice. —Eli is fine... —she hesitated.

—Okay, Eli... yeah, sorry... —I don’t know why I got nervous, suddenly felt like an idiot for apologizing.

We stood there for a moment, exchanging tense but cordial smiles, until Luke broke the silence to continue with the introductions, and we went back to our daily routine. However, I couldn’t help but glance at Eli a couple more times during the morning, curious, not knowing why she intrigued me so much.

Spencer Reid's arrival jolted me out of my reverie. The prodigy in his field, well, in many fields, I knew who he was, and of course, I was familiar with his work, but I didn’t recall his eyes, and that they would impact me more than his publications. "Girl, what are you thinking...?"

Yes, I knew him from college, just from a couple of classes; we crossed paths occasionally, though he doesn’t seem to remember who I am, to be honest. Understandable, on the other hand.

We sat together during the meeting, and although I spent most of the time in silence, feeling like an outsider in a new environment, Reid made the atmosphere a bit more bearable. He didn’t talk much, but when he did, his words carried a weight that made them seem more significant.

He looked at me with his brown, curious eyes, as if he were trying to decipher who I was. *He did this repeatedly throughout the day and I tried not to seem too nervous; I didn’t want them to think I wasn’t up to the task. "He’s uncomfortably kind, analytical, looking for something... and my abilities drop to -1000 when someone is watching me, damn it..."

The day went on, and despite my initial anxiety, I gradually started to feel more comfortable. Garcia was a whirlwind of positive energy, and although she intimidated me at first, I soon found that her enthusiasm was contagious. Spencer, on the other hand, was a calm and constant presence, someone I knew I could share deep conversations with without feeling judged.

The first day was going quite well. "I need a break..." I went to the common room and sat down to eat something, not before getting distracted by making little paper balls with a napkin and scribbling in my small red notebook. Spencer walked in just as I was stacking several objects on top of each other, trying to see if I could balance them. Me and my brilliant mind.

—Sometimes, a break is just what you need to think clearly. —He said as he pulled a sandwich from his bag, looking at Eli with amused curiosity and sitting down across from her.

—Eli jumped and knocked everything over, not without letting out a small scream first. —Oh, crap... —She turned beet red as she looked up and began to pick everything up.

—Spencer chuckled quietly. —What are you doing...?

—I... uh... n-nothing... It’s just how I am. —She opened her eyes wide. "What are you saying?! How are you like this?! Are you dumb or what?"

—He couldn’t hold back and let out a small laugh. *—*He seemed entertained, certainly... an improvised 3D puzzle.

—Well... yeah... —He cleared his throat, biting his lip, fiddling with the napkin. —I like puzzles.

—Yeah, I can tell. —The brunette gave a smile, leaning a little toward her, almost instinctively. —I guess this job, like psychology, has something to do with puzzles.

—Eli smiled softly, feeling more at ease and forgetting the previous incident, then hesitated before continuing. —I’ve always been interested in human behavior, patterns... Since I was little, I’d observe how people acted. In fact, when I was in college... —She paused for a few seconds, hesitating. —I had a class in criminology with you. You were... well, like you are now: brilliant.

—Really? —He asked, furrowing his brow slightly as he tried to remember, looking up. —What was the class?

—Advanced Psychology. —She murmured uncertainly. —You were always at the front.

—Advanced Psychology... —he repeated, then his expression changed as if something clicked in his memory. —Row four, seat six... was that you? You always had a notebook... yes, like that one, red, and you sat near the window.

—Oh! —She exclaimed, surprised and a bit flushed. —Yes, that was me... I can’t believe you remember so well. "Don’t get too excited, friend, he has a super brain, it’s not because of you."

—I have eidetic memory, but... —he smiled slightly, somewhat embarrassed. —It’s not always so clear with people. What seems odd to me is that you noticed me, I mean, hmm... well, you know... that you specifically remember me... —Spencer trailed off, unsure of how to finish.

"I need to scream and process everything he’s telling me. Are there any hidden messages here? Can someone translate all this for me?!" —Uh... Well, it’s that I’ve always played at that, really, I like observing and learning. I memorize what people do, how they are, how they might be... So I remember weird things at absurd moments, I suppose —she admitted with a soft laugh, now feeling more at ease. —You always seemed so focused, so... in your own world.

—It’s funny... —he said, looking directly into her eyes, with a sincere smile. —I always thought I was completely alone in that world, but maybe that wasn’t entirely true.

—I’m glad to know I wasn’t so invisible after all. —She said, holding back a sigh.

—Definitely not. —He said softly, smiling —And now, I’m really happy that we’re here, sharing something more than just a class.

—And I... —she replied, feeling the conversation flow naturally, though she felt like running through the halls screaming and completely red. She wasn’t sure if she had a kind, panicked, or clownish expression. "Oh God, I’m losing it. What’s happening? He’s adorable and I want to die!!"

The case would continue its course; Luke provided me with constant support, he knows my difficulties, and for me, the most important thing at that moment was to adapt, to find my place among them. With a bit of luck, I might feel settled in this new environment. "Come on, Eli. Just one step at a time." · Requests via DM ·

I'm really enjoying writing the conversations, to be honest. There’s still quite a bit to go, I don’t know how many chapters there will be, but my idea is for this to be very FLUFFY, you know, kisses, intimacy, cuddles... we'll get there. 16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?

I’m pretty low on ideas right now— got one WIP that’s s l o w l y coming along, and three sort of vague wisps of “I should write about that sometime.” But one idea that’s been cooking for awhile is, Pearly and I want to write a fic about Mr. Clarke and Ms. Kelley falling in love (potential title could be The Extra E Club: A Love Storey)

immediate yes to that AU. What would the plot be? I’m not super familiar with horror tropes, but the spooky gays doing a musical together is just—right. It’d be an easy AU to slot in the others, even add in OCs depending on how large the cast is. my role ideas:

Virgil: stagehand, artist (set/costume design), writer, musician, or dramaturg. I feel like he wouldn’t want to act? Depending on how long the play is, how much needs to be done for it, how many people are involved in the process, he could take on several productive roles or just one. (which applies to the rest of this list as well). Imagine Virgil playing spooky piano though… If it was a smaller production the sound would probably be recorded clips, but even outside this AU. Imagine fanon Virgil playing piano.

Remus: writer, artist, actor, practical effects dude. I feel like Remus would play the main villain, especially if Roman played the hero. However, it’d be interesting to switch up their typical roles and have Remus play the tragic hero, and Roman gets to be the dastardly villain. As a treat. :} Either way, I love picturing him up late writing with Virgil. And I can’t be the only one who sees him getting really into the practical effects, trying to get that blood bag to spray just right.

Roman: actor. To the point where I’m struggling to think of what else he would do.

Logan: definitely a techie/stagehand (are those the same thing?) Maybe he’d handle lighting? Idk what this musical is about yet, but I know it has great (and super symbolic) lighting. I can’t really see Logan as an actor, but then again. He could also be an awesome dramaturg.

Janus: …actor? I don’t really know for him, he could be whatever the story requires him to be.

Patton: same as Janus. I did not walk into this thinking about what Patton and Janus would be. I feel like Patton would play a pretty good victim though.

After writing this out I do actually have an idea for the musical’s plot, but that’s going to be a separate ask, if I can flesh it out a bit more. (gonna see if letting it ferment in my head helps it develop, it’s pretty basic right now. And, like I said, I’m not really familiar with horror)

Sunday Week In Review XIV

How's everyone doing? I skipped out on last week's update since it was a really slow week on all fronts for all the things for me last week. Things picked up a bit this week - but I'll be honest, I'm having a hard time finding my feet around here at the moment and finding a groove to get into.

Not sure if it's that time of year, a bit of a writing lull or what - but I've been a little meh, not in the sad sense - more like I'm a petulant child offered six different things and I turn my nose up at all of them because I don't know what I want lol.

Also trying to figure out a system for getting through my TBR list, right now it feels like it's out of control and there are only so many I can read in a week. Especially since I want to get through some of my physical TBR pile and dedicate a couple nights a week to offline reading.

I love everything about the dynamic between these two and how Megan illustrates the deep affection they have for one another through their actions as we all know our post-outbreak Miller is not one quick with his words. Finally watching ‘Strange Way of Life’ and getting to live message my thots to @rhoorl as I watched - it was a cinematic dissection.

Date night with Mr. Truly - we spent the entire two hours wondering what people do on dates aside from watching their phones and waiting for a call to say your kids are out of control and have taken over Nakatomi Plaza. But needless to say, we had fun, I even ate a meal without someone else's hand in it.

Spoilers from today’s Sun And Moon Show episode, plus arc from the sister channel Roxanne Wolf and Gregory Show 

Just had some thoughts

So.. Earth sounds like a VERY interesting new potential character on a show mostly relying on pre-existing character concepts and VR avatars. 

BUT... on the Roxy and Gregory show, they added a new character and family member of nowhere, Rocky, Roxy’s twin brother, ONLY to use as kill fodder for dramatic effect without risking the stable characters.

So I can’t help but feel Earth gonna face same fate, only added to give Kill Code & Co. someone to slaughter for dramatic effect. 

Would just fit the M.O. we seen so far from the writers.

Just a thought, either way I’m eager to see whatever role she got coming and who will be the VA on a channel with a dusin of roles all played by just two people already! XDD

Hello There!

It’s been literally 2 years since my last post and I am now hoping to be more on top of this blog. My life as turn on its head but I’m at a much better place now (promise). I have much more time to work out my writers block! This blog had been a way for me to work through creative slumps in the past and I know it has been very helpful to a lot of others so I will try my best to revive it. I have just a sprinkle of creative energy at the moment and I will to my best to fan the flames of it.

I have asks from years and years ago that I will try to answer, slowly, to not overwhelm myself. And I will slowly answer the new ones as well! I apologize for being AWOL for years but I will try my best to come back, s l o w l y.

SELECTIVITY .

I will only interact with mutual followers. This mostly goes for IC memes unless tagged otherwise. I do not follow for a follow. It’s nothing personal and intended for my own comfort, to keep me from feeling overwhelmed or if I can’t really see how our muses would interact in the long term. Other reasons deal with not having a tagging system, no rules or muse info present, formatting style or lack thereof; i.e. not cutting posts or more OOC than IC. While I am open to plotting and talking to non-mutual followers in order to start something new, please do not consistently come at me if I'm not interested.

In regards to unfollowing/soft blocking people, I usually filter through blogs that have been inactive for at least 5-6 months unless I personally know them and the general nostalgia factor has a vice like grip on me x3 and I'll try to keep to a 7 day grace period to following anyone back... but don't hold me to that cause I am forgetful AF.

Also, I am variant friendly and freaking adore the idea of twin/alt verses, or just gushing over this ray of sunshine in general, PLS!

GENERAL DYNAMICS .

I can be an impulsive & adaptive kind of writer at times. If nothing is plotted beforehand I'm prone to just wing it and see how it plays out. I’m also keen to follow my partner’s writing length and /or format should the desire arise for thread aesthetic goodness.

I like plotting pre-established relationships/connections. I find it to be a pretty nice immersion factor to basic intro threads/meme interactions.

I will not play favorites with any particular character(s). I may have main baes I feel more at ease freely interacting with and replying to. My character exclusivity is only placed upon romantic ships when it is asked of me.

SHIPPING .

This is a multi-ship blog. Every relationship takes place inside its own verse unless plotted otherwise, i.e; poly-ships. I love shipping! I love talking about possible ships. I love the planning and meme slinging. As much as I enjoy it, that is NOT an ultimate goal with my muse. I also like to get to know my potential ship partner as well beforehand.

it’s funny some of you people still think that just because some section of idiotic sonic fans sent death threats to Pontac and act stupid to your folk that it makes it ok for some of your people in your community to do the same when honestly it’s clearly not ok nowadays to actual sane people in and outside of the community looking inside. (also yes some people do get reprimanded for that behaviour nowadays especially on my discord and and other mutual servers/twitters since they’re run by actual sane people despite what your cesspool of tumblr posts say) criticisms are fine against the stories and people write but the fact you lump people who’s criticize some of your community’s people are "bootlickers" when I know the normie fans hardly don’t interact with him same with me it’s just when we just see piles and piles of posts of writers of not just Ian but other writers as well it shows how fall this small section of a community has fallen.

Honestly the reason why a most sonic communities don’t take all too well to your group nowadays is because they’re sick and disgusted by you lot is that recent posts and vids have shown that all of y’all are so desperate for some people to agree with you you still accept a self proclaimed "cub fetisher" by still talking to him afterwards (also another one of the reasons why his Twitter was in the cutting shop he was pushing it with his disturbing posts and is just a bad person in general especially with recent multiple death threat posts that I can still see on his tumblr) which honestly just shows all you in a horrid light and also why is the constant posting about this topic and yelling into the void about how the community is wrong for enjoying different recent writers and insulting them almost daily which is extremely unhealthy no matter how "vindicated" you feel you all are.

Doesn’t help that even people on sonic tumblr who don’t post weekly about such things are noticing and calling out the behaviour when people like drop-ship-colony past posts are saying that the behaviour like threats to a human beings life wasn’t "that big of a deal" in the sonic community when it fucking absolutely is in real life and I’m other "healthy sane fanbases" and is absolutely disgusting human behaviour in general no matter how much shit y’all had to deal with with other stupid sides of the community that doesn’t mean your community isn’t exempt from criticism T H A T ‘ S NOT H O W T H E R E A L W O R L D W O R K S no matter if it’s on the internet with you folk hiding behind their screens it can be dangerous it always has consequences and how you’ve reacted to it has also been shown to even people on tumblr which is why there’s more people on even on this app noticing it and posting about the behaviour even more so now likely in the future.
