You had gone through this school year in relative peace with your roommate.

When the school year started, you were unable to secure on-campus housing in time and thankfully your friends found a social media thread of other college students living off-campus who needed someone to share an apartment with. Dan Heng immediately stood out of the crowd, solely for how handsome he looked in profile picture alone. Who needed other sources of credibility when they were pretty?

For most of the year, the two of you lived pretty separate lives. When you were home, you were usually in your room unless you wanted to cook. When Dan Heng was home, it was the same. And add the fact that he only exited his room during ungodly hours of the night, it was a recipe for never really bumping into each other.

It made you a little sad, naturally. You wanted to be close with your roommate and have movie nights and game nights, but he set the tone for wanting to live together, yet separate, and you found it simpler to adhere to his wishes.

But as the weather warmed up, as did your serendipitous contact with Dan Heng. For starters, right as winter came to an end and spring only remotely gave its warm greeting, you would see Dan Heng head to the living room and turn on the air conditioner while you were eating on the kitchen island.

As it grew hotter out, Dan Heng only lowered the thermostat more and more. Causing you to freeze more and more.

Now, you enjoyed living in a nice and temperate room like most people, but with how your roommate set the thermostat, your apartment was well below room temperature! Below freezing if you wanted to be dramatic. It was a little ridiculous how cold it was, in your humble opinion. Did he want to live in the snow?

One particular cold night, you came out to boil yourself some hot water for your hot chocolate and marshmallows. It may have been burning hot out, but inside was a winter wonderland, so you figured you may as well get in the mood. You had fuzzy pajama pants on, along with a longsleeve shirt and a scarf wrapped around your neck and a beanie on your head.

Just as you were about to go back to your room and wrap yourself under a million fluffy blankets, Dan Heng emerged from his room to head to the thermostat.

He paused as you walked by him, eyes widening at the sight. Dan Heng himself wore nothing but a pair of gray sweats and a black shirt. He stared at you for a few moments.

“Are you feeling ill?” he asked, one of the first words you’ve heard him say this whole month.

You shook yourself. “No! I’m feeling perfectly fine,” you said, voice muffled from the scarf that half-covered your mouth.

He blinked. “But… your outfit.”

“I’m just a little chilly, is all.”

He walked over to you with his arm outstretched. He brought his hand close to you and asked, “May I?”

You nodded.

Dan Heng lifted your beanie slightly and placed the back of his palm on your forehead. It was instantly warm to the touch and you wanted to place it right on your cold cheek to heat it up. He stayed in that position for a while, a look of deep thought on his face. “Hmm… Your temperature doesn’t seem to be of concern. It does seem safe to assume you’re not sick.”

“Yeah! I’m feeling fine. Just a bit cold, like I said.”

Dan Heng looked between his bare arms and your fully covered ones. He ran his fingers through his hair with a sigh.

“I’m sorry,” he said.

You looked at him, confused.

He elaborated, “I didn’t realize I was making the apartment unliveable for you.”

“No, no! I wouldn’t say unliveable. I’m cold, yes, but it’s nothing some layers can’t fix.” Besides, the two of you were lucky enough to live in an apartment that covered utilities for you. He could run the AC and heater on all day and all night if he truly wished.

Dan Heng shook his head. “I should’ve been more attentive to the needs of the other occupants. I’ll keep the temperature higher for you.”

“Don’t worry about it,” you teased, noting the look of intense worry on his face. You took a sip of your hot chocolate and smiled at him. “But thank you.”

Dan Heng was nothing but determined, it seemed.

You could tell the next day because instead of the igloo your apartment once was, it now became a sauna.

As you walked into the building after a nice walk outside in the hot sun, you were looking forward to the cool air greeting you. However, what you got was a blast of heated air blowing on your face.

You instantly fanned yourself with your hand as you called, “Dan Heng?”

You didn’t have to look very far because as you walked into the living room, you noticed him shirtless and slightly glistening, a book in one hand an a popsicle in another.

He straightened up as he heard you approach. “Welcome home,” he greeted.

“Hi,” you said with a sheepish wave, trying to keep your eyes off his well-defined chest muscles.

“Is the temperature more to your liking?”

You stared at him, your body and face growing warmer as the hot air continued to blow around you. For a moment, you considered agreeing with him, if only to commend his efforts. You noticed he was putting up with being comfortable if it would have made you more comfortable. However, you felt pretty miserable and you figured you would rather freeze than have the both of you melt inside your apartment.

“Not exactly,” you said, feeling a bead of sweat forming on your temple. “It’s hotter in here and outside, Dan Heng!”

His cheeks that were flushed pink from the heat turned even redder. “Perhaps I overestimated how warm you liked your living area.”

“I think you did!” You couldn’t stop the amused laughter from coming out of your mouth. “I appreciate the thought, but I don’t think living in a sauna is fun for either of us.”

He nodded in agreement. A drop of his popsicle melted and slowly made its way towards his hand. He briefly licked it before it could make a mess.

“I’m going to turn the air conditioner back on,” you said in amusement. “Maybe set it to a nice, room temperature.”

“I agree that would be for the best.”

You walked over to the thermostat and adjusted the temperature accordingly. You felt your body warming with each step. There was no way you wanted to stay in your apartment while it was still this hot.

“It’s going to take a while for our apartment to cool down,” you laughed. “Do you want to go out and get some ice cream while we wait? Maybe go to the beach?”

Dan Heng considered it for a moment, finishing up the small remainder of his popsicle. “I’d like that. We haven’t had much time to bond as roommates. Maybe this would be a good time.”

You nodded. “Something is telling me I’d really enjoy getting to know you more.”

He smiled. “I feel the same.”

“Let’s go have a beach day, roomie!”

To be really honest with you, Nonnie, I don't particularly ship Curt/Ken or any other ship beside Buck/Bucky and the occasional Blakely/Douglass (even though a good fic or hc can change everything lmao) so I may not be the best person to answer your question but I'll do my best 🥰❤️

So, Curt and Ken have never interacted in canon, I don't think we even ever see them sharing the screen even once. That makes it half of the fun of shipping! You get free reign over everything, and it's fun to imagine "what would their dynamic be like?". Some of my favorite ships are me smashing my two favorite characters together even though they've never interacted once in canon so I can see the appeal 😂

I think Mota doesn't give us much in terms of characters, except for the Buckies, and perhaps Dougley and Crubbles, there is no pair who interacted and you thought "Them". We're living off crumbs for ships that aren't these two, and sometimes we have to make the crumbs ourselves 🥹

Then there's the whole Pilot x Chief Mechanic dynamic! I can fly this plane because you make sure it can fly and won't fall apart midair. I can go back up times and times again because you spend hours repairing it. This plane that you fixed is the reason I'm alive today, it brought me back to you. And then if you follow canon, you have an Angst potential that is through the roof 😔 But even without, the stress Ken is under every time he sees Curt's fort fly off and know that maybe, his repairs won't be enough, his bird won't be enough to bring Curt back to him. But then it is, the fort has bullet holes everywhere but it touches wheelsdown and Curt is mounting off, whooping at Ken and pulling him in a celebratory hug because Curt never forgets it's Ken that keeps him up and not plummeting down. Just think of all the scenarios of Ken having a breakdown because his birds and all his repairs aren't enough to bring his friends home, they're not flying fortresses, they're flying tombs but Curt comforts him, reminds of how many times his fort, Ken, saved his life (for OPwillcryiftheythinktoomuchaboutit reasons, we will forget part 3 happened how it did, but if you want to go that way you get The Angst fic and a heartwrenching tragedy)

Since they haven't interacted in canon, their dynamic personality-wise is truly up to you! I personally like little angel looking Ken with New Yorker hardened, a bit rough around the edge looking Curt, I think putting them next to each other would be funny (and you've said it... short kings 😂). And they're both ballsy, and confident so I think they could be a Power Couple, but they're also so sweet (Ken with the kids, Curt when Bucky was having a breakdown in part 2), they're fundamentally kind to their core. And they're both funny in their own way (Ken humoring the kids with the hot potato, Curt and his jokes/stories), so I do think their relationship could be a beautiful one 🥹

As to how it got popular, I think it gives these two characters room to grow while extracting them from the Clegan factor. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Curt be a friend to the Buckies, but I also don't think that's all he was so I love seeing him be his own person in fics 🥹 Also Ken, my darling boy, had too little screentime (like pretty much everyone to be honest) so fics and ships like Curt/Ken really explore his character and it has the additional plus of exploring the mechanics'/ground crew's war, which was something that was missing from canon in my opinion 🥺

a buzzing can be heard in his head, like of those bees swarming the honeycomb. eren could feel- he could feel the tension in his pulse, in his veins. this is unfortunate, he thinks.

yep, it was unfortunate. he lost his grasp again, on you, he lost his opportunity. because of his own stupidity.

or for some selfish reason.

it keeps replaying in his head- like a memory that was tucked away in a jar that's now shattered. he still could recall, of what he perceived. your orbs, filled with something that made him want to re-arrange his guts again. something because of him.

he should've known that your heart would've shattered on the ground already. he thought you were already okay, as if everything was fine between the two of you.

the thuds residing through the wall was a bit too loud but he was close. so close to you again.

from afar he could see you, yet as he neared eren could sense the fact you knew he was here so you ran again.

"[name]! [name]! wait, you're going to get sick!" eren desperately called out as he tried to stretch his hand out to stop you from the rain, only to be deemed futile as you were far away again.

it dawned upon him- that he really did miss you. eren loves you so dearly, to the point he'd be chasing you in the rain.

otherwise, if you were just another person to him, he wouldn't have chased you like this. eren would've only be grumbling in the hotel room, saying you were a nuisance if he really didn't care. that's what he did to his previous exes.

yet here he is, chasing you as if his life depended on it.

who would've thought that he'd chase you? under rain? no one. not even you.

a shout stopped you in your tracks, tears sliding down your cheeks along with the rain as built up frustration and hurt crawled back in just like how it was the day your broke up.

your throat felt like it got rid of any water supplement your body had. it was so parched, and the rain didn't do anything to seize this aching throat of yours. it felt like that alcohol you consumed the moment you first met him.

and gosh, you wanna go back to that moment.

but you're unable to.

not when he's like this. not when eren was clinging on to you for dear life, his chest to your back and the way his arm are surrounding your mid-waist.

"please stay, i don't- i can't live without you." eren desperately says near your ear, the rain not even helping with how loud it was but you heard him.

you thrashed around, prying his hands away from you as you faced him with eyes filled with tears. "now you want me to stay? you're the one who insisted on leaving me! remember that yeager!" you shouted at him as you shoved your fingers deep in his broad, toned, chest.

but he didn't mind, infact he receives it with grace as he allows you to shove your fingers. he deserve it, he knows.

"i never wanted us to part." he said with guilt underlying his use of tone. his eyes casted down, not able to see your tears streaming because it hurts him so much. so much to know he caused this.

"really now yeager? then why did you do it? why did you do that? i begged you to stay, till the moment you packed everything! i begged you to stay! i was up all those nights, wondering what was wrong with me!" eren felt a jab in his heart as he heard that, reminisced of what happened months ago flashed before his eyes. it hurts even more that you're calling him by his last name.

"nothing's wrong with you okay!? i didn't have a choice! i never wanted to leave you!" he shouted, gripping your shoulders suddenly as your eyes widened from his outburst.

"my aunt...my aunt told me that if i didn't break up with you then my mom and dad won't be going out of the hospital any sooner. i never wanted us to part! i never did!" eren shouted as his grip tightened, not enough to hurt you though.

then all of a sudden, you felt his lips pressed against yours. making you widen your eyes more if that's possible. his lips were so soft, like a marshmallow sinked in hot chocolate.

as you closed your eyes and reciprocated the kiss, it no longer felt like an innocent one. it felt more passionate and wild, like how a wildfire spreads. his lips were fervently pressed against yours as you granted him access, tongue roaming around fighting for dominance.

the rain felt like a mere background play, not caring anymore as you guys were soaked yet your bodies gave heat as your hands crawled up to his neck, tangling it around while playing with his hair as eren placed his on your waist. eren desperately kisses you more as you both made out in the rain, kiss getting deeper as he tilted his head to the side.

time felt like it slowed down, only for it to remind you both that you breathe it. pulling away, you both connected your foreheads as your chest was heaving up and down from the mini make out session. eren's orb were staring at you as you were with him.

love was all you could see as he tried to regain his breathing. "i never wanted us to part. i love you so much, i didn't have a choice." he whispered out as he continued to stare at you with his emerald gaze of his.

"i know 'ren. i understand now. i love you too." you whispered out to him as he gave you another quick kiss on the lips, so gentle and assuring.

"i promise, we won't part anymore." eren whispered out as he placed a kiss on your forehead, his hold on you tightening as you held him close.

and he fulfilled his promise years later, a wedding band on your ring finger rested as you stared at his face once more. it glimmered under the rays of the sun, and so did he. you chuckled as eren nuzzles his head against the crook of your neck. who knew he could be so domestic?

nobody would even expect for the eren yeager to place you on top of the kitchen counter and nuzzle his face on your neck right?

"i love you." he muttered out as he placed a kids on your collarbone, inhaling your scent as you played with his hair.

"i love you too." you muttered back, four simples words that meant the most to him. for you made him feel this rollercoaster rush, this tingling sense that overwhelms him in a good way.

love was really fleeting.

OOhh! Umm...idk what I would name it but it would be nice if there was a court inspired by Dia De Los Muertos/ Day of the Dead. Like an underworld type of court where the High Lord/Lady there can helping the souls of prythian after they die and somehow it's associated with Starfall. Marigold Court? idk lol Like I said lame name but cool concept.

What relationship would you have wanted to see more of in the books?

Honestly, I would sell my soul for a pre-ACOTAR book that focuses on the Bat Boy friendship. Like when Cas mentioned waking up naked with some decoration around him? And Az hiccuping when drunk?? I NEED to know more.

What's your unpopular opinion?

Idek if this is unpopular but I do feel for Tamlin. He did fuck up but given other characters have also fucked up, I really hope he gets a redemption arc or is able to pick himself up. Like dude is really going through it and so are his people, someone pls save Spring I also kinda wished Amren had stayed dead. I don't hate her character but it felt too good to be true when both her and Rhys died and then they came back to life. It would've had more impact if one of them stayed dead.

If you were to be swept away to Prythian, what's ONE thing you would want to do?

I would want to experience Starfall with the IC. I love looking at the sky, especially stars and the moon and with all those hotties? Sign me tf up.

Yes 🥹

1. There will never be a dull moment

Uta is... Entertaining. Obviously, some of his ideas of entertainment may not be what the average person likes to do for fun, but in general he's someone that is great to be around. If you want to go out, he's up for that, and if you want to go out-out for drinks he will rarely say no.

Even if you wanted to stay in and hang out, he's a great person to just be around; he's smart, so guaranteed you'll learn something new whenever you have a conversation. The thing you get educated in has a strong chance of being weird/macabre, but that's to be expected 🤷‍♀️

If you're in a quiet mood or not much of a chatty Cathy to begin with, you'll still struggle to be bored around him. He's constantly doing something. Uta also seems like he has some niche quirks iykwim? When he relaxes, you may notice some of them when he gets really involved with something creative.

Seriously, he's just a very interesting person.

2. He has a great sense of humour

He's friends with Itori and Yomo, so that says it all; you need to see the humour in things to spend so much time with both of them and remain sane.

Dry sense of humour, and quite witty. He's perfected the balance of being able to tease people and it's still funny for all involved without being mean which is a skill.

3. It's unlikely you'll ever offend or embarrass him

I think it'd be impossible to offend Uta. I think someone could say the literal worst thing in the world to him, and rather than him getting upset he'd try and see where they're coming from.

Don't get me wrong though: I think if he had a partner who was deliberately going out of their way to be a dick, he would end things swiftly, but if it's one of them not thinking moments, or panicking afterwards incase he took it the wrong way, you'd be ok. He'd likely find that funny... And maybe play on it a little.

hi darling ^^ so the first thing i recommend is looking at other blogs whose aesthetics you like, noticing anything they do in common or anything you would like to incorporate (but not steal obvi). so i liked all the cute symbols ppl used, and i liked it when i wasn't overwhelmed with color. as a rule of thumb, i'd use only two or three colors! i also would pick between showing a header or showing an icon, bc i think the images can end up clashing? or it's hard to find some that match

when i say that I enjoyed “Home Calls the Heart” so much trust that i do not lie!!! i typically don’t like to compare people bc everyone has a different journey to writing and creating stories on here , but man the way you write using tropes like hybrid and poly bts, which can easily become horribly written (in my opinion) is something out of this world. I feel like people typically either explain the world surrounding hybrids too much or too little to truly understand how their dynamics work throughout the story. But the way you write makes it seem right. I understand enough to the point where it doesn’t distract me from the main plot! I also love the way you write poly!bts <3 again im trying not to sound too harsh because everyone works hard for their art, but the way you write ot7xreader seems so genuine and not too cartoonish if that makes sense. i have a hard time trying to find some good poly!bts fics bc i luv them so much but sometimes it hurts my head. i mean i could imagine how hard it could be to incorporate seven character that have different traits and their own spirit, but, again, the way you have written them in “Home Calls the Heart” has me excited for new chapters to come!! Hello, hello! Wow this was not something I was ever expecting to receive, but I am really humbled. I thank you for being into my writing. I’ve been writing a very long time but not for any kpop fandoms, and I was nervous about how it would be received.

I think different writing styles appeal to different people, but at the same time I know what you mean! It can be very difficult to find the right balance of how much information to use, and you don’t really want to confuse yourself or the reader, but at the same time you want to include more than barebones info.

I’m glad my approach to worldbuilding currently is not too hard to follow along with. That’s the key. Because at the end of the day I saw the prompt and wanted to tell a nice tale of the reader and hybrid BTS all healing from their friendship (and eventually more) with each other. As to the relationships…OT&s are popular and I knew right away I wouldn’t be leaving anyone out cause that’s not my style, but I did have to decide whether there would be shipping among OT7 or not, and you know I feel like when you’ve been around the people you love a long time, things would be casual. Casual intimacy.

I think some stories maybe do a lot of “hey!! Look!! They’re dating!!” And write them accordingly, and I suppose that’s fine, but I guess I try to write them as people in love who have nothing to prove. They just are comfortable in a relationship together and the Y/N gets to be a part of it.

I admit, I kind of miss the consistency of the feedback on my writing I’ve gotten in the past. Like beyond people just asking to be on the taglist or saying they’re excited to read more, I really use to love engaging with people on tumblr about my writing, but haven’t gotten a whole lot of that so far. So sometimes I wonder if I come off too intimidating. 😭 Because I see other writers chatting with readers about their stories and I’d love to do the same if anyone wants to. Both bother me a lot, even if I have a lot of understanding for why especially the former would happen (I recall mischaracterising a LOT of characters that way when I was 16 and under I won’t lie 😭😭). i love LOVEE answering writing related questions like this tbh so thank u!!!! and okay well it’s very instinctive for me, sometimes i just pick up on someone’s mannerisms very quickly— usually because i’ve seen gifs/videos/etc— and can kind of easily pick out a trope for them? if that makes sense. sometimes i don’t. but yeah for example lando fits very easily into this charming kind of cheeky character and all i have to do is put in his mannerisms/speech patterns to make it more believable. its hard to pin down the tropes themselves with a name but i have a bunch floating around in my head that feel very obvious when i start writing.

someone like george or alex for example don’t come super easily to me. i have to watch videos of george to pick up on the things i like to pay attention to. that will probably persevere whenever i write him, probably because i have more experience writing a certain kind of “character” and he doesn’t quite fit that.

logan, oscar and max also feel really natural for me to write. i think actually a lot of that comes down to certain similarities i have with each of them— i just go oh okay what would this aspect of my personality do in this situation. but also its similar to the lando thing, i just have a grasp on their mannerisms.

there’s a certain amount of making shit up in there. i try to stay accurate to their real life personalities but also i’m not trying to pretend this is real and don’t care if i use a little creative license which helps a lot. its very much separate from real life to me. i write my readers like i write OCs basically, just veer away from getting too descriptive.

okay and finally because i’ve rambled too much. i pick and choose prompts or just try to apply it to a situation in a way that doesn’t feel obvious because there are some things that just feel Not Right to me?? in the sense that i can’t imagine someone in that situation. or it’s not believable to me. it’s why i don’t/won’t write a lot of fan service-y very specific things. there’s nothing wrong at all with wanting to read something about someone comforting u about a specific issue/etc it’s just difficult for me to write. does any of that make sense!!?!?
