im gay so i took from the yj show and gave him a motorbike. Hes also a cocky little shit and never masks his identity and therefore never wears a helmet when biking cuz he technically doesnt have to but at tim's insistence he wears one in more populated areas to set a good example (but at that point its just like he might as well fly) (that one ask sonic audio that goes "if you can run so fast, why do you need a race car?" "Uh. Because it's COOL.")

Idc if it's unrealistic, i gave him dark skin and curly hair and a broad nose for a sort of polynesian ethnicity look bc one of his comic runs was set in hawaii and i like when boy have melanin. He likes punk but also glam and color so he combines em all. The knee patches he sewed on himself, ma kent taught him to sew and to fix his clothes he uses stars cut from scraps of pa or clark's old clothes and sometimes from clark's torn capes. He's the designated clothes repairman on the yj.

I forgot his glasses, which is sucks bc he has a copious amount of novelty sunglasses, from the funny little circles to star shapes to visor types, all in various colors. He has so many but he knows when they go missing, do not mess with his glasses collection.

I gave him a mullet partly bc i just think theyre neat, but also bc he has a tendency to cover his neck cuz theres a serial number branded on the back of his neck from his time as a clone in a lab. Its also why he wears chokers.

The docs were easier to draw, but he also sometimes wears cowboy boots cuz he got used to em from helping pa out on the farm. He does also wear a cowboy hat when he's out there, but he doesn't wear one casually cuz he likes soaking up sunlight, so he leaves it at kent's family home. He would start tho if he got enough individual compliments while wearing it.

He has lots of patches on the back of his jacket representing both his identity and things that are important to him, he wears the logos of his friends in the yj and other patches that remind him of the people closest to him; if they dont have a logo or an insignia he asks them to pick one out for him. The jacket is real leather, he got it while he was still working for Luthor, it got torn up so Ma helped him fix it up and reinforce it using pieces from an old used jacket of Pa's and some material from a local smallville craft store.

What IS he up to...

To be fair I haven't fully decided yet. My two versions are either a) he got got by whomever is the dark urge around a few years before the game started OR he is alive n hiding...

Either way he becomes some sort of anti Bhaalist vigilante, sating his bloodlust by killing Bhaal worshippers. Probably most of his friendships and his relationship w Jaheira deteriorates bc he can't truly shake his evil way (bc he gets corrupted during bg2 endgame, and he wasn't a morally uptight citizen before that either). His breakup w Jaheira is incredibly messy, and he never recovers emotionally, so if he would be alive and they would meet he would be eating out of Jaheira's palms. Either way he would still be friends w Viconia tho (until he dies lol).

I was mostly thinking Abt him being alive during Oxoth's run bc he could have shown up to give some "Bhaal ducking sucks" type advice, being all cool and then Jaheira says anything and he gets incredibly emotional to the point where it's embarrassing to everyone. BUT ALSO it would be cool if Oxoth (and all my upcoming dark urge guys) would have killed him, then they would have to meet his former allies...

One Pound Gospel - Episode 3

Okay, the honeymoon phase is over lol. Kosaku was really obnoxious in this episode. Since I know how the manga goes, I don't expect much character development from this show. Oh well, at least I still enjoy watching the Chairman!

Notes:

The beginning of this episode pissed me off so much. They've flanderized Kosaku's personality to the point where he seems like he has brain damage or something. Like...he destroyed an entire charity fair because he was jealous someone else bought a scarf knit by Angela. The manga had a few "no one would ever do this irl" moments but I can't picture manga!Kosaku acting this dickish.

I don't know if age is just harder to discern in manga form, but Yoshihiko looks a lot younger than I remember, kind of like how Onimaru looked older. It's a lot easier to forgive his stupid plan seeing how baby faced he is. (Why he kinda have a mullet tho? lol)

Kosaku's face is conveniently covered when he eats the rice bowl in the beginning. I wonder if those rice bowls are just plastic (wouldn't be surprised).

Although Yoshihiko deserved to be yelled at, I thought they went a little too hard in belittling him. I felt like I could see the resentment growing on his face. The Chairman's injury kinda felt like karma for egging him on lol.

I can't get over the Chairman's son's bad hair. I'd bully him too (jk jk)

Although I hated Kosaku in this episode, Angela acting tsundere was pretty cute, I gotta admit.

The other boxers "getting power" from Angela and crossing themselves was cute.

Why did Kosaku take like nine years to react to the necklace Angela gave him? Again...he seems so brain dead this episode.

This show really doesn't give a shit about self care does it? Almost about to collapse from starving yourself? So manly! Assaulted by thugs? Get back in the ring immediately after because you're such a cool guy! Yeah, no. If this is what sports are really like I'm glad I don't bother with them.

Generic villains were generic. What kinda evil person tries to SA a nun!? 😭

This episode was the first where the main fight isn't really the focus, so much so that we don't even know who Kosaku is fighting at the end of the episode. This is good, I don't want the episodes to get formulaic.

It seems bullies in Japan are always either targeting the shoe locker or the desk. Get new material, bullies! This side plot is pretty random. Guessing teen guy (I really need to learn his name) will become a boxer eventually?

to be honest tho top 2 are definitely rick and morty. mostly because of their shared dynamic, because it genuinely is very tightly written and works super well in canon (toxicity included). like they are a veerryyy unhealthy duo and the text acknowledges that and even brings it to the forefront, and its sooo entertaining and intriguing. like i want to see these characters pushed to their limits, i want to see them doing junk and i want to see how their dynamic handles that junk. i think season 5 kind of abandoned that og duo a bit, and im really hoping season6 picks them up again and focuses on them more. i also really like how, overall, their character developments seem to go in like... opposite directions? like, morty becomes more cruel and apathetic, and rick becomes more soft and empathetic. and like, obviously the show isn't going to end with morty being the cruel heartless and self-centered asshole, and rick the blabbering anxious wimp, but it's still cool to see how they sorta pick up each others traits. for third thoughhh.... it's sort of a tie between jessica and rick prime. i think jessica is just a fun character who got some cool development (im still waiting for the writers to continue with that plot thread btw), but most of my adoration for her comes from how fun she is to draw haha. as for rick prime thouuugghhh....... he just seems so silly. i really have a soft spot for villains who don't care and who also seem to be having so much fun with the havoc they're causing. i feel like s6e1 set him up basically perfectly, and i really can't wait to see more of him. also, his design is super cool. love the weird mullet and sci-fi jacket. ALSO ALSO, since this is a villain the writers have intentionally set up, i feel like his characterization and motivations will have been set up much more solidly. (not to say that e!morty's weren't, but i've mentioned before how i'm pretty sure the writers never intended for him to exist outside of his debut)
