DPxDC #22
(kind of a prequel/companion for #21 adding in my new OC whispers)
Danny is squatting in an abandoned building working on some tech he found in a dumpster.
??: *whispering* Numbers, the wind told me you are a protector and will keep me safe.
Danny turns his head to see a little blond girl in torn, dirty street clothes, maybe around age 10. The spirits around Danny all gain that soft look in their eyes when seeing something precious.
Danny aka Numbers: Well I can certainly try, what do you need? And what do I call you?
Little girl: *Whispering* I'm Whisper. Metas, especially young ones are trafficked. The wind sings to me, telling me secrets. Your secrets are many but you are a protector and can keep me safe.
Numbers tries to keep his face in check hearing the truth, pain, and fear in the young girl's words. Without hesitation, agrees to be her protector.
Numbers: Welp guess I'm a big brother (again). Okay, Whisper I will take you with me and protect you. You do not have to share anything at all about what you hear unless you want to, understand.
Whispers smile is blinding while she nods.
Numbers is well known to the other street kids as he's been living in Gotham for a few months and has good street cred. He is known to be kind to everyone and help anyone, especially with anything to do with numbers. Numbers is also well known for giving info to Red Hood on those who go against the rules of Crime Alley. Red Hood himself is supportive of Numbers, even though it's clear Numbers isn't a native Gothamite.
The kids of Crime Alley soon get used to Numbers and Whispers being inseparable and Numbers calling Whisper his sister. However, the street kids were not ready for what would become of the duo.
Whispers knowing now she would be safe did tell Numbers the secrets carried by the wind. Anything from the little things like someone tripped a few blocks over to a member of the Bats and Birds near, to the trafficking ring being set up outside Crime Alley.
Numbers knows he has to share the bigger things with Red Hood. Especially because Numbers has hung up his own vigilante suit. Racking his brain for how to share this information without letting people know it came from Whispers was actually easy to figure out. Numbers will say he's a psychopomp. Well, he can see and interact with ghosts since he himself is half dead but shhhh.
The spirits of Gotham are in abundance but he hasn't really interacted with them since coming here. He did listen to them when they told him Crime Alley run by Red Hood would make a good place to live.
Asking the ghosts to find out where Hood is was simple. A young male with a gruesome hole in his chest had shown them right to the rooftop Hood was chilling on. Numbers grabbed hold of Whisper and using his powers flew them to the top.
Numbers: Hello Red Hood! Lovely night for a rooftop stroll!
Red Hood gave a minuscule flinch.
Hood: Numbers! *grumbling* every time.
Hood: What do you got for me this time?
Hood notices that Numbers isn't alone for the first time. He inclines his head in a silent question.
Numbers: This is my little sister Whispers!
Whispers gives a small wave from beside him.
Numbers: And I got a new trafficking ring being set up at ____corner of ______ outside of Crime Alley. They haven't picked anyone up yet though.
Whisper nudges him. Leaning down so Whispers can talk to him
Whisper: *whispering* they are planning to head out in the morning.
Standing back up straight, Numbers turns his head to look at an empty spot, tilting his head like he's listening to something then turns to Hood.
Numbers: Actually you should hurry with dealing with them they are planning to head out in the morning.
Hood: Hmm okay, Numbers you always have the best intel but this is new even for you. Do you want to tell me how the info has changed since you've been standing here or?
Numbers: *sigh* only because you are Red Hood will I tell you. I am a psychopomp.
Hood stumped: okay cool I'll keep that to myself then, thank you for trusting me. Anything you learn from them you can tell me personally and I'll help in any way I can.
Hood quickly departed heading off to deal with the traffickers.
Whisper: *whispering* the wind sings his praise so much, even though his secrets burden him.
Numbers: The ghosts sing his praise too.

your fiyero | fiyero tigelaar x reader
Pairing: Fiyero Tigelaar x Reader Summary: Ever since Fiyero Tigelaar started at Shiz University, he found himself fascinated by you â the one student who didn't care about him. When he notices you starting to struggle with something, he'll do anything to make sure you're okay. Warnings: Mentions of fainting, falling over, academic stress/burn out Word Count: 2.2k A/N: I've seen Wicked (the show) three times now with the amazing Australian cast that's currently touring and I fell totally head over heels with Fiyero, and then yesterday I saw the movie and fell even more in love with Fiyero and so I had to write for him. I do intend to write more for him, especially if other people want to read more! He's so fun to write for and definitely a challenge compared to some other characters I've written for in the past. I hope you all enjoy! đ
Itâs not difficult to sense the presence of Fiyero Tigelaar behind you as you leave Doctor Dillamondâs classroom, shoving your books into the bag over your shoulder. With the way the students heading into the classroom are staring at someone behind you, itâs quite obvious who theyâre staring at. Everyone at Shiz University wants Fiyero Tigelaar.Â
Everyone, that is, except you.
âClasses are over, you know?â Fiyeroâs voice comes from behind you as you round the corner, heading down the staircase leading to the courtyard. âYou donât have to rush off.â
Irritatingly, the fact that you canât particularly care less about wanting Fiyero Tigelaar makes himwant you. He usually isnât the type. If someone doesnât like him â something heâs actually yet to experience â he would just let it slide. Why waste his energy? But ever since heâd started at Shiz and met you, heâd found himself unable to leave you alone.Â
âI know,â you glance back at him over your shoulder. âBut some of us actually want to study and spend their time here learning, Tigelaar.â
Fiyero hurries his steps a little so heâs walking alongside you. âDid you miss the part where I said it was my job to corrupt my fellow students when I started here? Itâs never too late, darling.â He flashes a grin your way.
You canât help but roll your eyes at him, right at the same time you almost miss a step and stumble a little. Fiyero is quick, catching your elbow to help steady you. You donât look at him as you steady yourself, meaning you miss the look of worry in his eyes.
âAre you all right?â
You clear your throat and shake off his grip. âConsider me corrupted by your presence.âÂ
With that, you make a beeline away from him and youâre glad to notice that he doesnât attempt to follow you. You highly doubt that heâs going to follow you all the way to the library. Fiyero and the library have never exactly gone hand in hand.Â
~~
The next time Fiyero bothers you, youâre sat on one of the benches by the gardens. Thereâs a book in your hands and he can see you staring intently at it as he saunters over to you. Itâs almost like heâs approaching a wild bird or something, he thinks. If he moves too quickly, heâll frighten you and scare you away. Itâs the last thing Fiyero wants to do.
Heâs a few steps away from you when you look up from your book and meet his eyes. His face breaks into a smile as he moves the last few steps and takes the spot beside you on the bench. You turn to look at him, your eyebrows raised.Â
âNow, donât say Iâm interrupting your study,â he begins. âThat book is most definitely not in the curriculum. And yes, I did actually take the time to look the curriculum up after I saw you reading here the other day, if you can believe it.â
For a few moments, you only stare at him. Fiyero, for the first time probably ever, finds himself actually a little uncomfortable at your unwavering gaze. It surprises him. Heâs never the type of person to feel uncomfortable. Heâs confident in almost every situation.
You let out a sigh. âIt may not be in the curriculum, but youâve interrupted me nevertheless, Tigelaar.â
âApologies,â he says, with a small smirk. âAm I corrupting you even more with my presence?â
âSomething like that.â You close your book and sit it on the small space of bench beside you. You had actually just been reading the same page over and over for the last twenty minutes and trying to convince yourself to stop overthinking things.Â
You had so much studying to do, so much to learn and so many assignments to do and so little time to do it all. It was probably a little counterproductive to be sitting outside, reading a book and doing none of those things, but if you didnât try and have a break from them all, you were pretty sure you were going to burn yourself out, which was the last thing you needed. It would have helped if youâd actually been able to relax and enjoy your book, though.
âIs it any good? Your book. Not that Iâd read it, of course,â Fiyero grins.
You try your best to conceal your amusement. âIâd offer to lend it to you but, as you said, you wouldnât actually read it so⊠Iâll keep it safe with me. I doubt the Winkie Prince knows how to properly take care of books if he canât read them.â
Fiyero gasps jokingly. âIâll have you know I can read, I just choose not to. I prefer to fill my brain with much more useless things. That way, I donât have to think. Itâs a peaceful way to live, my darling.âÂ
You shake your head, this time unable to keep a smile off of your face. Fiyero likes the sight of it. It strangely makes his heart beat a little faster. He canât actually remember the last time he saw you smiling⊠not that heâs been keeping track.Â
âHow about you join me?â He offers. âNo more studying for the rest of the day and no more thinking? Iâm positive I could find something we could do to fill the time.âÂ
The reminder of studying, however, brings you back to reality after you small moment of joking with Fiyero. You reach down and grab your book before standing up and turning to face Fiyero, who is looking at you with slight concern in his eyes at your sudden movement.
âI canât,â you say simply. âIâve been reading all morning and there is a lot I have to do. Iâll see you around, Tigelaar.â
He watches you with furrowed eyebrows as you walk away from him, clutching your book to your chest and heading in the direction of the library. Fiyero shakes his head and lets out a small laugh. He really thought today would be the day heâd win you over.
~~
A week goes by without Fiyero even getting to utter a word to you. He sees you, though, fairly often around the school. In the courtyard, in the library (where he definitely didnât go specifically looking for you), in history class and in the dining hall. But every time heâs thought to approach you, youâve disappeared before he could even make his move. Itâs on the seventh day when he notices that something is different about you.
Youâre coming out of the library, carrying several books and what looks like a stack of papers in your hands when you trip. Fiyero isnât quick enough to cross the courtyard and get to you in time to stop your fall. He does, however, take off at a run to be by your side as you start collecting all of the scattered pieces of paper and books that had fallen out of your grasp.
âItâs all right, Tigelaar. You donât have to help me,â you mutter, trying to shove books into your already overfilled bag. âItâs a Friday night. Iâm sure youâve got other places to be.â
Fiyero, truthfully, does have other places to be. Heâs been invited to the Ozdust Ballroom by nine separate people today. But how can he leave you to just clean all this up by yourself? He can see just by the look on your face that youâre utterly exhausted.
âI do,â he says honestly. âBut Iâll help you with this first.â
Heâs surprised when you suddenly stop putting things in your bag and when he looks up, he finds you staring at him again. It makes him uncomfortable in the same way he felt last week when youâd looked at him in a similar way.Â
âOkay,â you sigh.Â
Your lack of energy in fighting him is the second thing to make Fiyero realise something is wrong.
After the two of you finish picking up all of the things youâd dropped, the both of you stand. Fiyero opens his mouth to say something when he notices you start to sway. Heâs quicker this time, moving to catch you before you fall. His arm wraps around your waist to keep you steady, while his other hand takes the book bag off your shoulder and moves it straight onto his. Heâs surprised by how heavy it is.Â
âWoah, darling, whatâs going on?â Fiyero looks down at you as you blink and push yourself away from him. âHey, be careful, okay? I think you were just about to faint.â
You shake your head. âI just stood up too fast, thatâs all.â You know the words are a lie, and you can tell that Fiyero knows that as well. First, heâd seen you trip coming out of the library, then heâd caught you when youâd almost fainted⊠you canât hide it from him. That much becomes crystal clear immediately.
âLetâs get you somewhere you can sit down, okay?â Fiyero begins. âMay I?â He gestures to you, asking silently if he can wrap an arm around you to support you incase you fall over again.Â
You nod and allow him to guide you just around the corner into the small seating area off to the side of the library. Itâs dark, the lanterns not being lit yet despite the fact that the sun had gone down over twenty minutes ago.
âI swear Iâm not usually this clumsy,â you say sheepishly. âThatâs twice youâve stopped me from falling in the last two weeks⊠I suppose I should say thank you, Fiyero.â
Fiyero sits you down gently on the bench and sits your book bag down on the ground. He crouches down in front of you and reaches up to take your hands in his. Heâs surprised when you donât immediately pull away from him. âI donât think youâve ever called me by my first name before.â
âOh,â you think on it for a second, trying to ignore the warm feeling of his hands and how comforting it is. âI guess I havenât. Sorry, Tigelaar.â
âNo, no,â Fiyero shakes his head. âDonât go back to that. I like when you call me Fiyero.â
âWell, I suppose it is your name,â you offer a small smile.
âThereâs that gorgeous smile,â Fiyero smiles back at you and squeezes your hands. âNow, are you gonna tell me why you almost just fainted on me and why youâre clumsier than you usually are, darling?â
You stay silent for a few moments and just when Fiyero begins to think that you might just brush him off and try to make a quick exit like you did last week, you start to speak.
âI havenât really been sleeping well lately,â you admit quietly. âIâve had so much work to do, I fell behind on my assignments and I took on some extra work from Doctor Dillamond and⊠despite my best efforts, I guess I let myself get a little burnt out.â
Fiyero looks at you with his eyes full of pity and you hate it.Â
âAnyway,â you clear your throat, âthatâs not important. Why would you care?â
Your attempt to make light of the situation fails spectacularly, judging by the look that Fiyero gives you afterwards. Youâve never seen him look that unimpressed before.Â
âOf course I care,â he says, eyebrows furrowed.Â
âWhy, though?â You canât help but ask. âWhy are you so fixated on me?â
Fiyero sighs and moves to sit beside you, letting go of your hands in the process. âIf youâll allow me to be honest with you for a moment,â he starts, âI suppose⊠youâre the only person at Shiz that doesnât treat me like the perfect Winkie Prince that everyone thinks I am. Youâre the only person that doesnât think Iâm perfect, and half the time you act like you canât stand to be around me, and for some reason that only makes me want to be around you more.âÂ
âAre you not the perfect Winkie Prince?â You ask.
Fiyero grins. âOh, not in the slightest, darling. But letâs keep that between us. Iâll keep your secret if you keep mine. How does that sound?âÂ
You donât even try to hide the smile that comes to your face at his words. âYou promise you wonât tell anyone about what happened today?â
âI promise,â he nods. âBut only on one condition: you tell Doctor Dillamond you canât complete the extra work you signed up for and you take a break to make sure you get plenty of rest before diving into your other assignments. Iâm sure I can sweet talk some of the Professors if you need help.âÂ
He smiles as you hit him with the same look as before, but for the first time, he doesnât find himself feeling uncomfortable at the sight of it. Now, he finds it slightly amusing and incredibly endearing. He has always found you endearing, he supposes.
âSweet talking my Professors will not be necessary,â you chuckle. âBut okay. Itâs a deal. And Iâll keep your secret too. You can continue to be the perfect Winkie Prince to everyone⊠except me.â
Fiyero laughs. âIâll just be your Fiyero, then.â
âMy Fiyero?â You repeat after him, eyebrows raised.Â
He ignores the way his heart beats faster at the sound of those words coming out of your mouth.Â
âYes, your Fiyero,â he hums.Â
âEveryone will think that you finally corrupted me after all this time,â you joke, voice teasing. âIâll just be like everyone else at Shiz. Part of the Fiyero Tigelaar fan club.â
Fiyero fixes you with a look. âOh, darling. You could never be like everyone else.âÂ

then you hear loud heavy footsteps scurrying from inside the house, causing you to open your eyes open again, glance around, roll them and then close them again. you sat peacefully for a total of five seconds before a frantic franco screams your name from inside the house, causing you to wince at the sudden noice.
âcome!! quickly!â franco rushed you into the house. the two of you sat at the dinner table, you still didnt know what was happening but franco was getting a phone call and his leg was bouncing anxiously. âque??â you questioned, he quickly shushed you as he picked up the phone. you rolled your eyes, why did he call you all the way here if he was just gonna want you to be quiet. but also if he did, it must be a really important call.
he put the phone on speaker and placed it down on the table.
âis this franco alejandro colapinto?â a calm soft voice spoke from the other line.
âyes, this is himâ franco said in his best english he can muster.
âyou are being summoned by williams to attend the british grand prix, you will be driving in fp1.â franco silently looked at you with complete and utter shock in his eyes.
âare you available to attend?â the person asked from the other line in contrary to francos silence.
he searched for reassurance in your eyes, you nodded your head at him pointing to the phone.
âuh.. y-yes!âmmâ he cleared his throat âyes, i amâ he rephrased in a more collected tone. he couldnât believe this was happening, after everything heâd gone throughâeverything heâs sacrificed, everything his family sacrificed, to get to this point. heâd finally made it, even if it was just for fp1, it could possibly lead to him being in a seat one day. franco finished up the phone call, his composure holding on to a thread the whole time until he finally hung up.
immediately he stood up and scooped you into his arms. he tightly held you, taking in your scent and everything you are. heâd finally done it, and he couldnât have without your help and encouragement. when times got tough, when it felt like heâd never make it, there you were to push him on and make him feel good about himself again. he genuinely doesnât know what heâd do or where heâd be without you. he cupped your face, his lips clashing with yours into a passionate and loving kiss. the way he kisses you always sends tingles down your spineâthe softness of his touches compared to the way his mouth moves against yours. you could feel how much he loves you in every kiss, touch, or words he speaks. his love for you is only in the purest form.
âtĂ© quiero, mi amorâ his eyes gazed lovingly into yours as your lips detached from each other, his thumbs softly caressing your face, taking in every feature that he loved so dearly.
âim so so proud of you papasitoâ you wiped the incoming tears that dared to flow down his rosy cheeks. your heart has always been with him and his goals, to see him succeed like thisâeven if its as little as free practice, it was another door opened for your talented man.
âvenga conmigoâ franco proposed, the heat of the moment seeming like a perfect time. he couldnt just leave you behind, after everything youâve done?? heâd want you to be there the most.
âwh- what!?? thats crazy!!â you halfheartedly giggled, only response you could muster from how insane his suggestion was.
âwhy not? youâre always there for everything else, why not be there for the most special moment? cmon.â his puppy dog eyes are ones you could bear to refuse, his cheeks and nose reddened from all the excitement and happiness he feels. so, you agreed to go. youre his rock in all this, his biggest supporter. why wouldnt he want his favorite cheerleader to go and continue to push him on? plus, youve never been to london.

franco went on to place p11 in his first race after london, which you were extremely proud of him. to be so close to points in a backmarker team was, to say the least, impressive. you always knew he had it in him but for his first time ever racing as an f1 drivers against the other 19 best in the world? a blessed experience.

shoto has a staring problem.
dating shoto wasâŠan experience. you were his first everything and you had to teach him a lot about relationships, not that you minded, sometimes he would just do odd things in your relationship.
one of those things, was he would constantly just stare at you. it was cute sometimes, but other times it was downright creepy the way heâd make eye contact all the time. Even when youâd shy away from his gaze, everytime you would look back he was right there with those damn eyes.
it was honestly starting to creep you out. what was his obsession?
once again, you were sitting at a nice little coffee shop, the environment was cozy and it was raining outside; how much more romantic could it get?
apparently not romantic at all.
âshotoâŠâ you sigh as he stares into your soul again, âwhat is up with you and staring at me?â it seems he snaps out of his daze and looks at you, confusion evident on his face.
âwhat?â he questions quirking a brow. âItâs just..your always staring into my soul yâknow? Itâs a little creepy sho.â his mouth slightly parts and he nods in understanding.
âoh, Iâm sorry. I thought thatâs what people did in relationships? hold eye contact?â you furrow ur brows, eyes narrowing in confusion at him. where the hell did he here that?
âshoâŠwho told you that?â at this point you have a borderline concerned expression on your face, he averts his gaze sheepishly, flustered and embarrassed by his upcoming answer.
âwellâŠbefore we were dating..â he sighs and his face scrunches at the thought of admitting this to you outloud. âI made a tiktok, a secret one.â youâre nodding along, but this did catch you off guard considering shoto never used social media, especially tiktok.
âI obviously found your account and went through yourâŠreposts.â you cut off his brief explanation with confusion. âokay butâwait wait, what does this have to do with your staring problem?â you express your point with your hands, moving them from your face to infront of you in an outwards confused motion.
âwellâŠyou reposted a video, and it said something like..â he pauses to think for a moment, recalling what the video said. âoh yeah, âwhen he holds eye contactâ. so Iâve been trying to do it to impress you but..I suppose it backfired.â he cleared his throat and sheepishly avoiding your eyes, now because of embarrassment.
but this made your confused face turn into a fit of giggles, âaw sho, itâs cute to hold eye contact but not all the time and youâre also supposed to blink, silly.â he awkwardly laughs along with you, heâs slowly realizing how creepy he probably came off..he just wanted to impress you!
âyeah..I apologize.â he places his elbows on the wooden table and places his head in his hands in shame, youâre still giggling over the whole situation. âand I do mean to blink..I just get distracted by you and your voice.â he mumbles into his hands, causing your cheeks to flush and your heart to swell even harder.
âawwwâŠyouâre so sweet sho!â you laughter continues, you reach over the table and pull his hands away from his face to give him a sweet peck to the lips; which he quickly reciprocated.
you loved your emotionally constipated boyfriend with a staring problem.

hai hai haiii!! this has been stuck in my head for SO long, can we get chans reaction to reader surprising him with a skimpy outfit???
Hi darling! ofc you can! sorry it took so long! and to those waiting for drabbles do not fret there is an order and a method to my madness!! more to come soon!!
I want to take a moment to get a lil sappy (as if that never happens đ) and thank you all for going on this journey with me and supporting me all year. This blog has become my baby and so many of you have become very dear friends to me. To those who celebrate, happy thanksgiving, and to those who dont i hope you have a wonderful day anyways đ
ABANB Drabble 05
Your nerves were shot.Â
The reflection in the mirror wasnât you. Or at least not the you that youâve come to know. No, she was someone different. The lingerie you wore was soft, the sheer teddy framing you perfectly and the pastel pink looked delicate against your skin. It was cute- sexy even.Â
Your hair was tossed around to give you a seductive edge and your makeup was done to match the lingerie, a pink dusting both your cheeks and a gloss on your lips. It wasnât too much yet it felt like it was.Â
This was not you. Standing in the bathroom you fiddled with the edges of the teddy as you stared at yourself in the full length mirror. You felt like this whole ordeal was way out of your league, like when you walked out of this bathroom all heâs going to do is laugh at you.Â
Reasonably you knew Chan would never laugh at you for your effort, whether he approved of your look or not he would never put you down like that. But still.. Being sexy was not something you were used to or had even considered yourself to be so the lingerie was a new experience.Â
You hoped your scent of distress was not leaking out of you like a faucet but that hope was tossed right out the window when you heard the alpha call your name from the adjacent bedroom.Â
âBaby? You alright in there, my love?âÂ
You jumped at the sound of his voice, so stuck in your own head that you were not expecting the distraction.Â
âUh,â Your voice cracked slightly. Clearing your throat you continued, âYeah, mâ fine.âÂ
His deep hum reverberated through the walls, âWhat are you doin in there, sweet girl? Youâve been in there for over an hour.âÂ
Shit, he noticed.Â
âN-nothing, Channie.â You called back, cursing yourself for stuttering.Â
âIf you're doing nothing in there then how âbout you come out here so we can do nothing together, hmm?â His voice was amused, yet with a hint of confusion. You paused, weighing your options . You could go out there and make a fool of yourself, or you could stay in here where itâs safe. You never got to decide for yourself before Chan lowered his timber, using his alpha tone to draw you out. âOmega. Come out.âÂ
Your hand was on the doorknob before you even knew you had moved, slowly twisting the knob. You took a deep breath as you opened the door, the hinges squeaking as you did so (Chan never got around to fixing that damn squeak but that is a battle for another day).Â
The patter of your bare feet on the wooden flooring drew the alpha's eyes to the bathroom door, his pupils immediately dilating at the sight of you.Â
Your gaze was cast down as you entered the bedroom, unable to meet his eyes in fear of becoming even more embarrassed than you already were. It wasnât until you heard the deep growl and smelt the sudden spice that emanated from the man that you finally let your eyes rest on him.Â
âOmega⊠You tryin to kill me or something?âÂ
His hands were fisting the sheets that he rested upon, his knuckles white as he tried to keep himself in control. He felt his self control slipping away as he drank you in. The soft lace complimented your skin perfectly and the sheerness of it left little to the imagination. It was a delicate look, surprising but absolutely perfect for his sweet little omega. To him you looked devastatingly delicious and he wanted nothing more than to ravage you.Â
The scent in the air was ever changing, the neediness was seeping out of Chan in thick waves, so thick you were sure it was stain the walls. You had never seen that look in his face before. It made you feel like an animal of prey that had been found by a hungry predator. It was a deep seated feeling you had only encountered when an alpha was in rut.Â
Chan's growls never ceased as you got closer to him. His hand shot out to beckon you closer. You grabbed the hem on your teddy and looked at him shyly. âDo you like it, Channie?âÂ
Your hand fit into his and he groaned as if he had been burned when your skin made contact, yet he only pulled you in closer, hauling you into his awaiting arms and on top of him.Â
âLike does not even begin to describe the way I feel right now, Baby.â He purred, his strong hands running along the edges of your lingerie, then sliding up under it to touch your bare hips. His head leaned up to bury into the crook of your neck, his sharp teeth nipping and kissing along your skin, making your head spin. âRight now, all I want is to rip this pretty little nighty right off your perfect body and fuck you into this matteress.âÂ
His words made you tremble, a soft gasp escaping you when he bit particularly hard into you. âAlpha.. Please..âÂ
You could feel the smirk on his lips at your reaction. âDonât worry omega, Alpha is gonna take excellent care of you.âÂ
Your night had only just begun.

some cowboy!luke for you .á
dirt road anthem â jason aldean đż
for @wnderify & @star2fishmeg !! âł
cowboy!luke having his finger wrapped around your belt loop at all times. especially when the two of you are at a bar, and he gets nervous, not wanting to leave your side.
lukeâs an attractive guy, so women flirting with him was a given. it was mostly tourist, women who just werenât from around here, and most of the time, that was very clear. he would nervously look around for you, not too sure how to put his words nicely, âlook, i donât mean to be rude, but iâve got an olâ lady.â
in my head cowboy!luke is absolutely a pro bull rider, entering local competitions, and traveling with his manager for bigger ones in different states. for luke, it was never about the money, it was always about his love for what he did.
until luke was 13, he was forbidden from getting on any kind of bull. so he strictly stuck to horses, and then eventually when he turned 13, he was finally able to ride his first bull. he absolutely fell in love with it, just like his brothers had.
luke never liked coffee, but you always had. so every morning since the two of you began dating, he would get up, and make you coffee. you had insisted he didnât have to do that, but he was very persistent on doing it. he claimed âiâll be makinâ my tea anyhow.â
when the two of you go muddinâ luke thinks itâs just the cutest thing ever to see you covered in mud. mud splatters on your face, and your clothes covered. the both of you laughing as you ride back, after a long day, hands tight around his middle.
cowboy!luke buying the two of you matching hey - dudes after seeing you borrow his to feed the horses one morning. he quickly picked up how you kept them on throughout your morning, making a mental note to buy the two of you some when he goes into town again.
random dates! an absolute must with cowboy!luke. heâll randomly decide he wants to camp in his back yard, having a tent facing the pond. the two of you just enjoying the view, weather, and each other.
luke taking you to one of his shows, watching you absolutely fall in love with the show horses. in that moment he thought it was the sweetest thing heâd ever laid eyes on.
cowboy!luke teaching you how to play pool at the local bar in town. he didnât go there often, but when he did it was always a good time. the sweet western bartenders adored the two of you, claiming you were just the cutest couple ever, behind terry, and lorelai. you later learned, through luke, they were an older couple who had been together for fourty - five years.
cowboy!luke who loves dancing on the front porch with you. music blasting through his speaker, as he grabs your hand, bringing you to the middle of the porch, before you guys began dancing. the two of you would spend forever dancing together if it were up to luke.
cowboy!luke carries a pocket knife with your initial on it from years ago. he bought it one day when he was in town looking for a new pair of boots. he stared at it debating weather or not he was gonna make the purchase. it had been pretty early in the relationship, and he didnât know if it was good timing. he had ultimately decided to get it, and he glad he did.

The forgotten daughter / a possibility or alternate universe
The idea of ââa pregnant but unlucky careless reader is honestly intriguing, while I'm very leaning towards her having her life together after leaving her family behind, it's almost unrealistic or unlikely.
As if ___ Wayne ceased to exist and now a new person, where there was a large wallet and card with infinite funds, went to a pocket with few coins, you became a homeless girl, almost a vagabond, it is clear that you ran away from home in a fit of fury and deep pain, burying itself in your heart, even if you don't want to admit it.
Then you spend the next few days on autopilot, working at places part-time, hanging out with friends, going from party to party, consuming alcohol and other drinks until you drop, experimenting with different drugs, moving from relationship to relationship with different guys.
All to forget the pain you felt, a somewhat peculiar medicine, which only relieved you, but did not make your suffering disappear. All that until you noticed strange things on your body, a slight assumption from your friend and a test, led you to shocking news... you were pregnant.
The possibility of it being from a criminal is very high, all the places you frequented would never be entertainment for a hero in his civilian life, something about high morals and that nonsense.
You were very screwed, first because you were broke, you worked in mediocre places with poor pay, you lived in the moment... which meant you didn't have a permanent home.
Giving your baby the best home was your mission, even if it meant it wouldn't be in your hands.
I can imagine other constants hereâŠ. The main thing would be that you end up with the baby, a feeling of feeling complete reaches you when your baby is born.
Your life now is a scale that is constantly balanced trying to give a good life to you and your baby.
Maybe you end up working at a superhero-themed restaurant where a lot of men go for the girls' outfits.
It was there where you met the crazy blonde villain, Harley Quinn, who quickly attaches herself to you after meeting you and forming a friendship with you, while the woman becomes a constant in your life.
Little by little she takes you to meet her friends or accomplices, from a psychiatrist, a businessman, a prosecutor, a botanist, they were part of your new circle of acquaintances, they end up liking you and even more so when they know your story as a careless girl, maybe also the part where they see you fighting to give your baby a great life.
It's still hard to figure out for a lot of these villains, but they grew attached to you and developed a deeper, darker feeling.
You end up working at a fancy bar where all your new acquaintances go.
It was there that you saw him again, one of your old and elusive loves, perhaps the possible father of your child, whom you left when you saw how dangerous he was and that he would take you directly to see your family again or maybe to jail.
Anyway, you avoided him like the plague the short time you had, because with the death of his father, he ended up inheriting the big business where you worked.
Although your job was never threatened during your stay at the iceberg lounge, due to the paternal affection that the owner of the business had for you, something strange but that you did not give much thought to.
Now it was in danger... with this man and his sister as the new owners.
Well, that is until your babysitters came to the bar with your baby, with the excuse that he was sick and they didn't know how to deal with a baby.
Everything turned upside down when the man added your baby's age and the last time you were together, something you never did out of fear.
Suddenly you were no longer a single mother, but you ended up forming a strange life with the father of your child, skeptical at first until the man's actions made you change your mind remembering why you were in love with him.
Even though his personality and work weren't the right fit, you couldn't help but fall for him. In addition to the fact that all your friends, âunclesâ or âfathersâ as they loved to call themselves or take the role, got into the situation and evaluated the man, even if he was the son of one of them, they all approved him in the end even if there were some frictions. when they lived together.
The worst thing is when the man that everyone thought was dead returned, who put aside the things of crime or his work as a big businessman, as he described it to you so as not to scare you, he proposed that they get married to give the little baby a family, Well, he didn't propose, he put a lot of pressure on you to accept it, using the excuse that he wanted his grandson to carry his last name and not the family he left you, even more so before his time to leave the world approached.
You accepted after so much thought, that would give you a family, something that you always longed for, you would be happy, you were being happy now with your baby, with your baby's father, his sister, his father and your boss, your extravagant aunts and uncles.
A big wedding was celebrated on the first day of winter in the city, on a beautiful pier, with everyone you knew.
.......
There was a great meeting, one that set off the alarms of some heroes, but those of a certain city.
A large number of villains gathered, that was not good, they knew it.
Oh when they encountered his evil plans, or rather at a party, it surprised them, even more so when they observed how a villain, son of one of the worst evils in the city, was about to marry, not with a normal person but with someone some knew.
Let's just say the bat family didn't know how to react.
......
A big smile adorned the groom's features, while the ceremony was taking place, he finally got what he planned so much, it took him a long time, plus he suffered a lot, not seeing his beloved for a long time and thinking that he would never see her again. he would find had destroyed him and made him madder.
But now he had done it, he finished his great plan, he had the woman he loved so much, all to himself, and with his last vows their lives would be completely tied.
Much more so with the baby, the fruit of their fleeting relationship, their little son would keep them together no matter what, if the marriage didn't work out.
Extra points for her father, who also appreciated his future wife much more than he did him, he knew very well that his father would make sure that the girl did not leave, as he could lose his daughter.
His sister was also helpful, she took root in your life, a new friend and confidant, capable of manipulating you.
Even though you were an adult, you were actually very naive like a child.
You gave him your trust, innocently, without knowing what kind of threat he was to you, a life full of freedom.
The time they spent together made him see how much he loved you, now that he had you he would do everything possible to never be separated from you.

in my rook hating mindset now after that post this morning and cannot stop thinking about how they are literally the worst protagonist maybe in any story i have ever experienced JRHGKJERHGJERG. and like if you love your rook i am not saying you shouldn't. if you love your rook i am so so happy for you genuinely but you are also probably brilliant and have a huge brain because what the game gives you to build off of is so abysmal.
i literally cannot stop thinking about how insane it is that rook literally causes a double blight and worldwide catastrophe on a scale which thedas has not seen probably since the creation of the veil itself and just. experiences no remorse. and the story tries to tell us thats a good thing and makes them better than the villain/their foil. JHREGJKHERGJKHERG. HELLO?!!??!?!?! literally no one ever goes "hey maybe you shouldnt have done that" except solas and hes framed as the VILLAIN!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!! hawke blames themselves for not putting the pieces together fast enough when a bouquet of white lilies arrived at their door? the narrative gleefully condemn anders with the immediate opportunity to kill him for his crimes. nearly every single character in origins immediately puts the entirety of the responsibility for the fifth blight on loghain's shoulders, regardless of the CLEAR SUGGESTION that the battle at ostagar could never have been won. and all of these makes sense for the world and characters!!!!! of course hawke would blame themselves for their families deaths when they were given the role of protector by leandra after malcom dies. of course the city of kirkwall is going to want anders dead for his extreme act of violence rather than start the uncomfortable process of acknowledging the beloved chantry's complicity in large scale abuse happening in the mage circles!!!! of course alistair and the warden are going to blame loghain for the blight and cailan's death!!!! it doesnt matter if they are right or wrong, it makes sense for their perspective and worldview to feel this way!!!!
have yall gotten the low approval conversations in inquisition????? solas's "Inquisitor. Tell me. How does it feel? Being you. Are you blissfully unaware or, deep inside, is some part of you banging on the walls, screaming?" cassandra getting drunk and practically spitting in your face how she regrets raising you up to such power? blackwalls' "Are you proud of yourself, of what youâve built here? How about the lives youâve destroyed along the way? Given much thought to those lately? Is this Inquisition all you wanted it to be? Because Iâm disappointed. All I see is a gang of thugs led by a self-serving tyrant." and these SCATHING comments from those who once believed in the inquisitor enough to join their cause come from decisions that affect a fraction of the population that dies under the southern double blight. people will rip the inquisitior to fucking shreds when they fuck up. THATS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE TRESPASSER DLC EHRGKJHERGKJHERG. like holy shit every decision carries the weight of "oh my god whos gonna hate me. who is going to die because of my choice. how is this going to come back to bite me." have we forgotten what its like to return to varric after leaving hawke in the fade and confess what we did? the call we just made? to look him in the eye and tell him that we sacrificed his best friend? WHY IS ROOK NEVER ASKED TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY OF THIS INTROSPECTION?????????? TO EVALUATE HOW THEIR DECISIONS AFFECT THOSE AROUND THEM BOTH PERSONALLY AND SOCIETY AS A WHOLE????? OH MY GODDDDD
the regret prison scene is so insane. first its insane because its solas at his best and most cunty. but secondly it makes no fucking sense even if im largely distracted by pookie being fun and villainous. solas tries desperately to play up rook's regrets during their conversations and we are supposed to believe that it was that manipulation that allowed him to swap with them in the prison. how does this actually work? blood magic? dont worry about it, kitten. but then when we get into the prison.... the only two regrets that manifest are things that just happened within the last 3 hours - your two party sacrifices. lets be clear that these are not even real sacrifices because literally all of these people volunteer to go and then argue about why they should go. this is so fucking stupid. then rook looks at the statues and says "i dont regret this because this was your choice". YEAH????? OF COURSE YOU DONT FUCKING REGRET IT WHY WOULD YOU. HELLO???? THIS WAS NOT ROOKS CHOICE THIS WAS ROOK JUST SAYING "SURE I GUESS". AND THEN THATS ENOUGH! THEY JUST LEAVE BC THEY CONQUERED THEIR REGRETS!?!?!?!?!??! WHAT!!!!!! there is no discussion of rook being responsible for the blight in the south that we find out via ooc inquisitior letter has KILLED LITERALLY EVERYONE. no suggestion that their recklessness and willingness to act WITHOUT ALL THE INFORMATION at the ritual is the reason for every single thing the evanuris do following their release.
and let me be very clear bc i know this was causing drama on twitter last week. i am not saying the double blights is rook's fault. i actually dont think it is their fault, although i do think they are stupid and reckless and shouldn't have acted so carelessly. but although rook is responsible for ghilly and edgar breaking free, rook is not responsible for the their actions following that freedom, and rook is not at fault for being put into an impossible situation (the need to stop solas's ritual) without all of the information on what the ritual was and what stopping it might incur. however, the double blight is rook's fault in the same way that the veil, the fall of the elvhen empire, elven mortality, and every demon's existence is solas's fault; which is to say, it is and it is not. solas was backed into a corner, in a desperate situation without knowledge of the potential consequences, and was forced to make a decision for the good of the world when he imprisoned the evanuris and blight with the veil. rook was backed into a corner, in a desperate situation without knowledge of the potential consequences, and was forced to make a decision for what they thought was the good of the world when they interrupted solas's ritual. but while solas feels immense guilt and responsibility for the choice he made, rook feels.... absolutely none. and the game tells us that... they're right? people should just not take accountability for anything? i will give credit where it's due here that varric's contribution to this scene is quite good and his line where rook tries to take responsibility for his death and varric says smth like "no, that was my own choice and you dont get to take that from me" is B A N G E R. WHERE WAS THAT ENERGY IN THE REST OF THIS FUCKING GAME!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
THAT was the lesson solas needed to learn, not that his regret was wrong but that it was MISPLACED!!!!!!!!! and that is why it is mythal acknowledging that their burden is shared and not his alone is the culmination of his entire story and what finally allows him to move on. pride stands alone, wisdom seeks out the input of others to make an informed and wise decision. this is also why he leaves such breadcrumbs for the inquisitor (a high approval one, at least) because he respects their opinion and their input and their existence and the way they treat him turns him back into wisdom from pride. this is why a romanced inquisitor mentions his name being pride and how its possible that hes not even CAPABLE of changing his mind because it would be so against his nature, and he needs someone whose opinion he values to show him the way. his flaw is his SELF INFLICTED LONELINESS!!!!! NOT HIS REGRET. varric even fucking says this in some random banter you get with his ghost in the infirmary but im too lazy to go find it on my desktop. its something about how he sees attachments as a weakness rather than a strength. his pride causes him to take on responsibility that is not his, his wisdom -> pride corruption has led him to believe he is the only one capable of fixing the world's problems and he will destroy both himself and those he loves in the process. he asserts that he is just a man but is unable to stop making decisions for the world like a god.
THIS is the solas/rook foil that should have been: rook relies on their friends and that reliance is ESSENTIAL; after all, the neve/bellara and davrin/harding sacrifice is essential to win. in contrast solas refuses to rely on anyone, and this isolation makes him increasingly cruel. when he has no one to mirror the way a spirit should, he becomes Pride, too proud and too god-like. his attachments make him more human. he is terrified of depending on others and will kill them rather than risk the vulnerability of dependence after what it has done to him (mythal, felassan). he has to unlearn this avoidance and fear, he has to admit that there "could have been a better way" that someone else saw and he did not. he must learn that he does not have all the answers. he is not Pride. its NOT that rook doesnt experience regret and doesn't take accountability for mistakes while solas is trapped by his own regrets. the message we got instead is so incoherent. but it was SO CLOSE TO BEING GOOD. the bones of this are littered everywhere in both the game and in the datamined content and for some reason it just could not be brought together in a way that makes sense.
the message that rook is "right" and better for not having regrets is genuinely insane, especially when the "regrets" they have to conquer are literally just. other peoples decisions. the fact that rook has the audacity to say to solas that he could never escape the prison while they could so easily because he is trapped by his own regret as if rook is better than him is genuinely so fucking dumb it makes me want to claw my eyes out for having been forced to read it. rook sacrifices nothing and learns nothing. the sacrifices within the game belong to the characters that make them, rook does not order people to their deaths in the same way that solas or even THE INQUISITOR do. rook never is asked to grapple with the fact that they ACCIDENTALLY unleashed a double blight, no matter how good their intentions. WHY DOES NO ONE BLAME THEM FOR THIS???? regardless of if it is their fault or not, the objective truth of fault does not matter, what matters is that you make decisions and PEOPLE JUDGE YOU FOR THEM!!!!!!!!! THIS IS LIKE FOUNDATIONAL TO THESE GAMES JEHRGJKREHGJKRHG. this is what the entire game is about doing to solas. judging him. based on his choices. and the game clearly wants you to have empathy for him in the end. but its so OBVIOUS that the vessel for building up that empathy should have been ROOK EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING!!! THE SAME JUDGEMENT!!! THE SAME GROWTH!!!!! FEELING THE BURDEN OF THE WORLD ON THEIR SHOULDERS. FEELING THE DREAD OF GUILT AND SHAME AND REGRET. TRYING TO DEFEND THEIR INTENTIONS!!! I DIDNT MEAN TO I DIDNT MEAN TO IT WAS A MISTAKE!!!! LEARNING THAT THEY HAVE TO OWN UP TO IT BUT THEY ALSO HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO MOVE FORWARD!!!!!! HELLO!??!?!?!?! they BARELY even express remorse for the treviso/minrathous sacrifice, even when faced with neve/lucanis's anger they just go "a decision had to be made and i made it". well. YEAH? LIKE YEAH THATS RIGHT BUT HUMANS HAVE FEELINGS??? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A PERSON, NOT A BLANK SLATE VIDEO GAME PROTAGONIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS OKAY TO FEEL BAD!!!! YOU MADE A DECISION THAT RESULTED IN PEOPLE DYING. ANY HUMAN BEING WOULD FEEL BAD ABOUT THIS. ITS KIND OF FUCKING WEIRD THAT YOU DO NOT. HOW IS ROOK JUST BORN BEING OK WITH THIS. ITS SO ROBOTIC AND ARTIFICIAL LOL
rooks actions are such a clear, perfect parallel to solas putting up the veil and the guilt that haunts him afterwards that i KNOW it was intended that way and somehow it just got completely shafted. it literally feels like they did have a coherent parallel going and for some reason were forced to change directions last minute and thus we got some mish mashed barely cobbled together incoherent nonsense with clear echoes of its former self. instead rook has no flaws, makes perfect judgements at all time, has unconditional support from all of their friends who also make perfect judgements, are immune to making mistakes, and the message is its actually just really easy to not have regrets if you just choose right every time and refuse to take responsibility for anything as long as you had good intentions :D
#wow this just pissed me off so bad out of nowhere lMAO#dont leak this to twitter they'll flay me alive#datv critical#mine.txt#character analysis

Not Hangman To Her â Jake "Hangman" Seresin
"We are about to embark on an emergency rescue mission," Maverick said. Instantly, all of the pilots straightened up as he continued. "The U.S.S. Reynolds set off three days ago. Their mission was supposed to be simple but it took a bad turn. After a dogfight, three out of their four pilots were killed."
"What about the fourth?" Rooster asked.
"She's MIA," Maverick sighed. "We are close to her last known coordinates. We've been asked to complete a search and rescue."
"Who's the pilot?" Phoenix asked.
"Her name is Lieutenant Y/F/N Y/L/N."
Hangman's heart jumped into his throat when Maverick put the pilot's picture on the screen. His mind raced as his eyes and thoughts were glued to the girl he met in training.
Y/N? There's no way she would be mixed up in all this. She's the best pilot. Whatever happened was not pilot error. Y/N didn't do anything to put her in this position. She's too. . . perfect to make a mistake that would cost her her life or the lives of her team.
"Hangman."
Hangman jumped when Rooster walked by, kicking his shoe. "You good?"
"I'm fine," Hangman said, clearing his throat.
"You sure?" Payback scoffed. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
"Do you know someone on the U.S.S. Reynolds?" Phoenix asked.
"No," he said a little too quickly. "Why would I know anyone on the U.S.S. Reynolds?"
Before his team could tell he was lying, he left the room. He went back to his bunk and slammed the door shut behind him. Hangman frantically searched through his stuff, and at the very bottom, finally found the picture of him and Y/N in training.
~ âą ~
"Keep up, Seresin!" Y/N laughed as she ran ahead of me.
As fast as I pumped my legs, I could never outrun Y/N. Then again, I didn't try to. I couldn't help but like the feeling I got when she bragged about being the better pilot. I loved how happy she got as she excitedly jumped around after beating me. I liked that it made her so happy.
"I win again!" Y/N giggled as she jumped and spun around. "Say it. Say that I am faster than you, Seresin. Say it. Say it. Say it."
I pretended to be angry as she jogged around me and chanted for me to say it. I didn't mind saying it but she expected me to push back, so I did.
"If I say it, will you stop circling me?"
Y/N stopped right in front of me. She smiled cheekily at me as she bounced on her toes. "Did you have something to say to me, Seresin?"
"You are the faster runner, Y/L/N," I recited just for her. "You're better than me."
"And don't you forget it!" She giggled as she went back to jumping up and down. Suddenly, her ankle gave out. I instantly caught her and pulled her close to my chest.
"You okay?" I asked, my voice soft.
"I think so," she said slowly.
"Are you sure?" I asked, starting to panic. "Maybe I should take a look at it. Here, sit down and I will. . ."
"I'm fine, Jake," Y/N chuckled as she patted my shoulder.
She turned away from me and stretched her legs as I overthought the last 2 minutes. The thought of Y/N in pain made me want to do anything I could to make sure she wasn't in it anymore.
I'd do anything to make sure Y/N was happy, healthy, and safe.
~ âą ~
Hangman snapped out of the memory, his hands shaking as he held the picture. The idea that Y/N was out there somewhere, lost and alone, filled him with more fear than he knew what to do with.
"She's okay," he mumbled to himself. "She's safe. We are going to find her. We are going to find her. I will find you, Y/N, I promise."
* * * * *
The next few hours went by in a blur for Hangman. The ship changed course toward Y/N's last known location. When they got there, Hangman and a few others took off in their planes and began searching the water for any sign of Y/N or her plane.
As he searched, all Hangman could do was think of the worst-case scenarios.
What if they're looking in the wrong area? What if they find her plan but not her? What if they find her but it's too late? What if they find her and get her back to the ship, but can't save her? What if he never finds her? What if he loses her? What if he loses her before he gets a chance to tell her how he feels?
"We got her!" Rooster yelled, pulling Hangman out of his spiral.
"Well, we got pieces of her plane," Payback sighed.
Hangman quickly turned around and flew to them. He started searching the sea for any sign of the girl he was crazy about. Finally, his eyes landed on something that instantly burned into his brain - Y/N unconscious on a piece of her plane.
"I got her," he said, his voice not nearly loud enough. He cleared his throat and tried again but louder this time. "She's over here!"
"Maverick, we got her! We need a search and rescue party now!"
"Stay there," Maverick instructed through their headsets. "We're sending one to your coordinates now."
Hangman didn't move his plane an inch. Instead, he stayed right where he was and kept a close eye on Y/N's unconscious body. He wanted nothing more than to dive into that water and swim to her. Instead, he hovered close enough to keep an eye on her as the ship sent a medical boat to their location. Hangman watched as the divers pulled her out of the water and safely onto the boat.
Once they had her, Hangman sped back to the ship. He landed and instantly jumped out of his plane and ran as fast as he could to the infirmary. When he got there, they were just bringing her in.
"Y/N?" Hangman panicked. His heart jumped into his throat when he caught a glimpse of her unconscious and pale body.
"Woah, stop," Maverick said as he grabbed Hangman before he could run into the exam room. "The doctors have her. They will do whatever they can to help her."
Hangman looked behind Maverick to see the exam doors close, separating him from the girl of his dreams.
"They will come get us as soon as they have any news about Lieutenant Y/L/N's status," he said with a knowing look in his eyes. Maverick wasn't sure how Hangman and Y/N were connected, but one look at the worry in his eyes and Maverick knew there was something.
"I just want to. . . I wish there was. . ." Hangman stuttered. "I just want to help her, Mav."
"All we can do now is relax and wait," Maverick said gently. Maverick studied him briefly before finally asking, "How well do you know Lieutenant Y/L/N?"
"Y/N and I were in training camp together," Hangman sighed as he sat in a nearby chair. "Some guys in our group were giving her a hard time. I defended her and after that, we got close. We ran together, trained together, studied together. We did everything together until we got our orders to ship out. We were sent to different ships and. . . I haven't talked to her since she shipped out. I tried to keep track of her but. . ."
Maverick waited for him to continue, but Hangman got distracted by his memories. Maverick sat next to him and gently patted his shoulder. "The good news is we found her," Maverick tried to comfort him. "The doctor told me that he thinks we got to her just in time."
"That's good," Hangman said numbly, "I guess."
The rest of their team slowly trickled in as they waited. Two hours later, the doctor finally came out.
"How is she?" Hangman panicked as he jumped up and met the doctor.
"She's okay," the doctor reassured. "She's dehydrated, a little sunburned, and has a slight concussion from the crash. Honestly, she should be way worse. She's extremely lucky."
"So, she's going to be okay?" Hangman double-checked.
"She's going to be fine," he nodded. "All she needs is a couple of good nights' sleep and some healthy meals. She should be back on her feet in a few days. I would, however, recommend that she not return to her ship just yet."
"Why not?" Bob asked.
"Well," the doctor sighed, "if we send her back to her ship, they will most likely put her back in a plane. She may be physically alright, but we have no idea how she is mentally. And that's something we can't check or test until she wakes up."
"Thank you," Maverick said, shaking the doctor's hand before he went back to Y/N.
"Wait," Hangman said, jogging to catch up to the doctor. "Is there. . . I was just wondering. . . I know her and. . . I was hoping. . ."
"She's not awake," the doctor said gently, "but you can sit by her bed until she does."
Hangman took that invitation and instantly went into Y/N's room. When he saw her asleep in the bed, his heart broke. He numbly walked over and collapsed into the chair next to the bed. He scanned her, searching for any injuries. She had a pretty big gash on her forehead, pieces of glass were taken out of her face, and she had bruises across her chest from her harness.
With shaking hands, Hangman reached over and gently grabbed Y/N's hand. "I'm right here, Y/N," he whispered. "And I'm not going anywhere until you wake up."
* * * * *
Y/N was unconscious for the next 14 hours. Hangman stayed by her side the entire time. His crew tried to get him to leave, but he refused. He barely ate and didn't sleep as he waited for her to wake up. He was starting to fall asleep when he felt her hand tighten around his.
"Y/N?" He whispered.
"Jake?" Hangman instantly leaned forward when he heard her beautiful voice whisper his name. "What are we. . . I thought you were. . . Where am I?"
"It's okay," he instantly soothed. "What matters is that you're safe. What do you remember?"
"I don't know," she said, shakily. "It was supposed to be a simple mission. But. . . I was shot down."
Hangman tightened his grip on her hand and scooted closer to her. He watched, his heart breaking as she remembered what happened. When the tears started streaming down her face, he gently caught one with his thumb. He kept his hand on her face as he tried to comfort her.
"Y/N," he said gently, "everything's okay. You're safe, okay? We found you and we are going to take care of you."
"Jake?" Her voice broke. He moved his hand from her face and scooted closer to her.
"Yeah?"
"Were you the one that found me?"
"Well," he cleared his throat, "I just. . . My whole team was there."
"But you found me," she said, already knowing the answer. "Right?"
Hangman laughed awkwardly as he reached up and scratched the back of his neck.
"I knew it," she chuckled weakly. Hangman felt his face burn as she smiled at him.
"How'd you know?" He chuckled.
"I like to think I know you pretty well, Seresin."
Hangman smiled when he remembered why she never liked calling him Hangman. She actually hated his callsign. She always said it didn't fit him. And when it came to her, she was right. He'd never hang her out to dry.
"Because," she continued, "You always find me when I'm in trouble."
"I would've searched the entire ocean for you," Hangman mumbled. Y/N's face softened when she saw the seriousness in his eyes.
"Jack," she whispered as she grabbed his hand and pulled him toward her. He didn't fight her as she pulled him down so he was lying next to her.
"I'm really glad you found me," she whispered, cuddling into his chest.
"Me too," he mumbled as he looked down and saw the exhaustion in her eyes. "I promise I won't let you out of my sight this time."
She let out a small giggle causing him to tighten his arms around her.
"I've really missed you, Seresin."
He looked at her and watched her eyes flutter closed. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
"I've really missed you too, Y/L/N."

Hello!! Iâm loving the babysitter JJ, I was wondering if you could do one where he gets into an accident and ends up in the hospital (nothing too serious) but the ask if he has anyone to call and he calls the toddlers parents and they go and pick him up with toddler!reader and she brings him a balloon and teddy bear.
Maybe he should have just minded his business when some kooks made snarky comments about him, maybe he shouldn't have started a fight with one of them that resulted in the group chasing after him and him jumping over every obstacle until he climbed over a fence and braced the ground wrong causing him to twist his ankle.
After he found he somewhere to hide and took deep breaths he winces the second he tried to put pressure on his foot, knowing it couldn't be just a simple sprain.
JJ would usually never go to a hospital, given the fact he had never the money for it and because he couldn't stand the scent of disinfectant, but ever since he works as your babysitter he had a bit more budget than he ever had in his life.
That's how he's now sitting on a hospital bed, his ankle already in a brace and morphine in his system to help with the pain as he's waiting for the nurse to bring him the discharge papers.
He's looking down at his phone, hesitating to do what the nurse suggested to him earlier, that he should call someone to pick him up since the way home would be taking too long for him to manage alone.
His thought of calling his father dismisses he the second it enters his mind, knowing he would just end up sitting here for another reason after doing so, the Twinkie is having some issues right now so not even John b can pick him up right now.
With a sigh he sends a text to your mother, making sure to say that it's not necessary if they're busy, instantly regretting his decision and about to delete it again until he notices that she already read the message.
He curses under his breath, running a hand through his hair. Since then he hasn't gotten a reply, sitting there for another half hour the door opens and he thinks it's the nurse with the papers but his eyes widen a tad when he sees your parents.
Your father is holding you securely on his hip, setting you down the moment you start to squirm in his hold, quickly running towards JJ to hug his waist, standing between his legs.
"Hey, there, princess..." He chuckles, patting your back before he looks up at your parents, seeing the clear concern on their faces.
"Are you okay? Did they give you proper care? Because if not I'll-" Your mother starts but JJ nods, reaching down to pick you up and sit you down next to him as you keep clinging onto him.
"I'm fine...I shouldn't have bothered you 'cause of this." He mumbles, glancing at the things you're holding. "Watcha got there, huh?"
"Oh! Dis for you jay! To makes you happy." You smile at him, holding the blue balloon and a small teddy bear out to him.
JJ doesn't know how he deserves all this, seeing you in the country club that one day was the best thing that ever happened to him and he will forever be grateful.
"Thanks, cupcake..." He says quietly, booping your nose with the paw of the teddy bear to hear you giggle. "He's just as adorable as you."
Soon the discharge papers were signed and JJ made his way outside with crutches, not really protesting when his father asked if he wanted to stay over, just for the night.
Your parents know that it's hard for JJ to let people help him, even more if they're kooks, but your parents seem to be the only exception. He would never admit that though.
You hold his hand the whole car ride back to your house, wanting to comfort him like he always does when you're hurt or sad, rambling about your day and he listens to every word you say, smiling at you the whole time.

Are your requests open? Could I ask for Optimus dating a human for the first time? SFW and/or N$FW is ok â„ïž
Since you didn't specify, I'm going for a vaguely G1/Prime vibe. Forgive errors, i typed this on my phone since I'm visiting fam for holidays.
He was pretty slick about it, asking you to accompany him on a scouting mission. Prime doesn't scout. But all you thought was how nice it would be to spend some time with the big boss himself. After all, you both had confessed attraction to each other. With him admitting an odd interest in you, and you letting it slip he was rather nice to look at. Even if nothing came out of it, it was nice to clear the air. And the fact he didn't avoid you after meant more than you could say. He was still nice to look at.
The sound of his engine and the radio mixed with your humming. You didn't know the lyrics, but the tune was close enough. Sitting in the passenger seat while his holoform occupied the driver's. It still felt odd to talk to it... him, through it, so you stared out the window when you did.
"What are we on the lookout for?" You ask, glancing at mountains in the distance. He was quiet. Longer than any leader-like contemplation you were used to. "Prime?"
His voice interrupts the music, "I have not been entirely honest with you y/n." He sounds remorseful, and you feel a clench in your heart, "we are not here to scout, nor are we here for any sort of mission."
You fidget with the edge of the seat. What could have Prime lying and feeling so bad about it?
"After our conversation the other day, i did some thinking-"
Oh shit. Did you make him uncomfortable?
"-I believe it best to-"
"Prime, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so forward. It just slipped out." You interrupt, trying to smooth over whatever wrinkles you caused.
"Please allow me to finish." He says with that stern but patient tone. The engine shifts, and he pulls onto a side road, "I wish to apologize for not acting sooner, I simply wished to ensure I moved forward properly. I believe the next step on earth is a date to explore our mutual interests?"
A what?
He continued talking about the research he did and how it was similar to cybertronian customs, but it seemed to move faster in comparison. You listened, still processing what this meant.
"Wait... so..." You put a hand to your face as you focus, "this isn't a scouting mission. It's a date?"
"Correct." Prime affirms He turns off again to another side road. This one flanked by trees that get more and more dense, "I apologize for the deception, and for the lack of activity. It's hard to find such things to accommodate our coupling."
His choice of the word coupling made you chuckle, and cheeks go warm, "N-no Prime this... is pretty clever, actually." Glancing at the driver seat, you make a face, "but for the love of god, please get rid of that thing."
You can feel the rumble of laughter in his engine before it flickers and dissipates.
Prime is the kind of bot to really want to get to know you. And you love the idea of one on one time with him. A long drive in solitude is the best way to get to know each other. Open up about some things. Share hopes and what you would want from such a strange relationship.
The nerves subsided quickly. It felt natural. it felt good to talk to him. It felt like he listened and was honest when he spoke.
He stops for you to grab some food, seeing as you both got lost in the conversation and were out far longer than expected. Optimus apologized for not thinking of that even after all the research.
You lean against the window, smiling at the stars. He's telling you a story about how he once woke from recharge to find energon stacked in front of his door. The deep voice lulling you to sleep. It felt appropriate for him to take the long way back.
N$fw vauge at most.
Perhaps this date turned into another. And another. A date here and there. He thought it cute when you kissed his dash before getting out of the cab. NO, you absolutely would not kiss the holoform, but caved when he would use it to hold your hand as you got out of the cab. Only on the cheek, of course.
You would call Prime a gentleman, but there was no missing the way his engine sounds like it stalls when you sit in the passenger seat; asking if this date was when you should invite him inside. His voice sputters about more research and compatibility.
"Shame, you don't have a bed in the back prime." You say while one hand runs down your body, "could really put it to use now."
You notice the way he speeds up as you continue touching yourself, engine thundering down the road. Hopefully, there aren't any state troopers.
There is a shyness to your actions, hoping he doesn't dislike this. Not to mention how odd it is to perform with no audience. Not that you want the holoform now. It would kill the mood more than anything. He can sense your body heating up, and each time you trip over your words, trying to be sexy, his engine purrs. Slowly unbuttoning your top has him wishing he could transform and feel you with more than the sensors in his cab.
"You're beautiful." He says as you shimmy out of your pants. The human form was alien , yet familiar. Soft forms on a Cybertronian like frame. "Beautiful..." he says as you part your thighs and lips. "Beautiful." He whispers when you bring yourself to the edge. That deep voice confessed how he had thought about this. How you would look. What he wants to try. Promising it to be his hand, somehow, to bring you here next time.
But first he needs to look into a new altform. Somthing with a bed in the back.

Their Eyes, Your Chains
Yandere Agatha & Rio Headcanons
Agatha Harkness x Rio Vidal x Gender Neutral Reader
AO3: Their Eyes, Your Chains
Word Count: 1K
Warnings: Possessive/obsessive behavior, yandere, manipulation, threats, stalking, jealousy
| Agatha
Agatha first discovered you on the outskirts of Westview. The instant her eyes landed on you, something primal stirred deep within her â an insatiable hunger that she couldnât quite place. You looked so fragile, so misplaced in a world that would sooner consume you than offer kindness. At that moment, she knew she had to have you. You were perfect.
To ensure your safety â and her claim on you â Agatha placed a magical sigil on you, visible only to her. It would flare up if you strayed too far from her or if someone with ill intent approached you. You were hers and she would not tolerate anyone or anything that dared to threaten that bond.
Agatha controlled every aspect of your life â where you went, who you spoke to, and how long you stayed away from her. She masked her actions as âprotection,â but the truth was clear: her obsessive need to keep you close drove her every move.
She was territorial. To Agatha, you belonged to her, and she allowed no one else to get too close to you.
Despite her possessive nature, Agatha showered you with attention, gifts, and affection, but her love still felt suffocating.
When you pushed back against her control, she alternated between cold fury and honeyed words, making you feel guilty for wanting freedom. âYou donât understand, darling. I do this because I love you. No one else will protect you the way I can.â
If you ever did manage to leave her, Agatha would go to terrifying lengths to bring you back. She would track you across the ends of the earth, twisting reality itself to prevent your escape. She might even cast a powerful spell to trap you in a dreamlike illusion, where you were blissfully happy and unaware of her manipulations, ensuring you would never wish to leave her side again.
Agathaâs most severe threat was to bind you to her permanently with a soul-link spell, tethering your life force to hers so escape would be impossible. âYou are mine.â Yet, unbeknownst to you, she had already decided to cast it the moment she met you.
She frequently called you terms of endearment like âdarling,â âmy love,â or âpet.â
Agatha wanted you, and she would stop at nothing to ensure that you were entirely, irrevocably hers.
| Rio
As the personification of death, Rio saw you as someone destined to be hers. All living things would inevitably belong to her in the end, but she didnât want to wait for that â she wanted you now and forever. Her obsession with you felt timeless, as if it had always existed, lying dormant until the moment it could finally flourish.
Rio preyed on your fear of mortality to keep you dependent on her, constantly reminding you how fleeting your life was and how frail you were compared to her eternal nature. âTheyâll all leave you eventually. But me? Iâll always be here. Isnât that what you want â someone whoâll always be here for you?â Her words burrowed into your mind, twisting your emotions until you could no longer tell if remaining by her side was truly your choice or hers.
When she was in a particularly indulgent mood, Rio could be achingly sweet with you, though her sweetness was always laced with a dangerous possessiveness. She would hold you as if you were the most fragile thing in the world, her hands cold but her touch inexplicably soothing. Yet in the same breath, she would whisper unsettling things like, âYou're mine, sweetheart... forever and always. No one else can ever have you.â
Rio doesnât tolerate anyone getting too close to you. She was convinced that she alone was worthy of being by your side. After all, she was inevitable, eternal â the one destined to claim your soul in the end.
If she perceived anyone as a threat to her claim over you, they had simply disappeared. When you confronted her about it, Rioâs dark eyes narrowed, and her voice carried a chilling warning: âI donât like sharing. Do I need to remind you what happens when people overstep?â
If you dared to defy her, Rio would turn volatile. She would threaten to bring death to those you love or cause harm to innocent people, showing you the lengths she would go to keep you bound to her. She would make you feel like you were the one in the wrong, insisting that only you could âend her lonelinessâ or that no one else could ever understand her the way you do.
In the moment extreme circumstances, Rio would remind you in a low, bone-chilling voice that no mortal can escape death â and by extension, her.
No matter how far you fled, no matter how cleverly you tried to hide, Rio would always find you.Â
She didnât just crave your love â it was deeper, darker than that. Rio demanded every piece of you, body and soul.
To her, you were the flickering light in an eternal void. You were her meaning, her obsession, her undoing.
| Agatha & Rio
God help you.
Agatha and Rio had both claimed you as their own. Neither of them could imagine a reality where you belonged to anyone but them, and each had made it clear that you were theirs and theirs alone. âYou belong to me, just as you belong to her.â They would whisper, almost in sync.
Agathaâs possessiveness was passionate and fiery. She would often press herself against you, her hands grazing your arms or waist to remind you of her presence. Rio, on the other hand, had a more subtle approach â she would lean in close, her breath warm against your ear as she murmured soft, possessory words or let her fingers lightly trace the back of your neck.
Both Agatha and Rio are quick to notice any tiny change in your behavior. If you were quieter than usual, Agathaâs gaze sharpened, and she would press you for answers, âWhatâs wrong? Tell me.â Rio, however, will casually drape an arm around your shoulder, murmuring, âWho upset you? Just say the word.â Neither will rest until they know whatâs troubling you and how to make it right.
Together, Agatha and Rio are a constant reminder that no matter where you go or what you do, you belonged to them and theyâll ensure that it stayed that way, forever.

âI need a favor.â Cassie grimaced walking over to your desk.
âWhat now?â you playfully whined.
âI need you to go sweet talk your bestie about the getting a copy of the report.
âCass, I donât think heâll be ok with that.â You took a drink of your coffee. âThey sealed it.â
âOh, come on itâs you. Heâll at least let you see it. I just need a couple dates.â You gave him an unamused look âPlease.â You sighed and picked up your phone. âThank you (y/n) I owe you oneâ
âYea, yea, yeaâ you teased as you opened your contacts, you scrolled until you found his picture and tapped the call icon next to it. You put the phone up to your ear as it begins to ring.
âHello Darlinâ.â His gruffy voice stirred up the butterflies in your stomach.
âHello, Sheriff Arlen.â You said in your best flirty voice. He chuckled. You returned to your normal voice. âHowâs your day going?â
âItâs been alright. Checking up on paperwork. Howâs yours?â
âEh ok, I guess. I was just sitting here thinking and ya know what I Â realized?â
âWhatâs that?â You could hear the smile in his voice.
âI havenât told my best friend was a handsome son of a bitch he is today."
He laughed. âWhat do you want?â
âBeau Arlen, I had offended you would accuse me of kissing ass to get something!â
He stayed silent for a second. âAre you done?â
âYes.â
âAre you gonna tell me what you want.â
âHave you eaten lunch yet?â
âNo, I havenât.â
âIâll be there in 15.â
âOh lord. What are you getting me into now sweetheart?â
âSee ya soon.â
As you walk up to the front doors of the sheriffâs station armored with a paper sack containing one of Beauâs favorite sandwiches from a local dinner, you pass Mo. He tipped his hat. âMornin', little lady.â He said with a smile.
âDeputy.â You returned the smile with a nod.
âHeâs in his office.â He told you as you grabbed the door handle.
âThanks Pop!â you walked in and made your way back to his office, but he wasnât there. You grin as an idea pops into your hand. You sit in his chair and clear a space. Careful not to mess up his organized chaos. Leaning back, you plop your boots on his desk and cross your ankles. When he opens the door ⎠you lean back further and cross your arms behind your head.
He laughed. âPlease make yourself at home.â
âJust trying to see how the other half lives.â You smiled at him. He laughed again. âNow I hope you donât mind, but I did some paperwork organizing while I waited.â
He pressed his lips together and flared his nostrils. âPlease tell me your kidding.â
Your grimaced âI thought I was helping.â You said as you sat up.
He rushed over to his paperwork and started looking through the piles. You inhaled through your nose as he leaned in front of you, taking in his intoxicating scent of blue vetiver, sandalwood and citrusy notes. He always smelled so good.
You started laughing. âBeau, Iâm just messing with you. I know better than to mess with your system.â You put air quotes on the word system.
âHey, my desk, my process.â He finally noticed the paper sack sitting on the empty side of his desk. âIs that?â he looked at you and pointed to the bag. You nodded. âOh, you can have whatever you want.â He said as he unwrapped his sandwich.
You smiled. âNow remember you said that.â
âYeah, yeah. Get to it.â He said in between bites.
âI need a copy of the Goodwin report.â You gave him a big smile. He swallowed and his face went hard. âOr just the dates. Cassie has a theory, and she needs dates to confirm it.â you puckered your lips and stuck out your bottom one.â He stared at you, his face still hard as stone. âPlease B.â You pleaded.
âYa know you are putting me in a very difficult position sweetheart.â
âNobody would know.â You turned on your puppy dog eyes.
He sighed âI canât give you a hard copy, but I can give you dates...â
âThatâs all I need.â
He leaned over you again onto his keyboard. âLook away.â
You rolled your eyes. âSo paranoid.â You put your hands over your eyes. You can hear the lead on paper and he starts to hum. âAre you humming Elvis?â
âYes. Ya know you never cease to amaze me. Not many people could recognize an Elvis song from a hum.â He stopped writing. âAlright.â He turned to face you and leaned against his desk. He held out the piece of paper but snatched it back as you reached for it. âHold on there darlinâ he havenât agreed on a price yet.â
Your jaw dropped. âBeaufort Arlen.â He rolled his eyes. That wasnât his name and you knew it, but you could resist calling him that. His reaction was adorable. Â âYou want me to offer you a bribe?â
âNo, not a bribe. More like one hell of a good cook persuading her handsome sheriff friend with her famous chicken and dumplingsâ He winked at you.
âFine, but I wonât have time tonight.â You bargained. âIâll drop them off tomorrow night.â
âOh yeah. Youâre date.â You nodded. âMaybe if you keep this one around you guys could double with me and Tiffany.â You rolled your eyes when he said her name, âDonât be mean (y/n). She regrets what she did, and Things have been good lately.â
âYeah, ok.â You stood up and he handed you the piece of paper. âThanks for your help sheriff.â You head towards the door
He sighed. âAny time.â
Reader's Pov
âHow did he smell today?â Denise asked you as you walked into the office.
You smiled and took a deep breath remembering his cologne. âDreamy.â Â You sink down in the chair in front of her desk.
She smiled. âAnd tell me why you never asked him out again?â
âNever got the chance. Tiffany just keeps weaseling her way back in, butâ you pointed your finger at her. âI am over Beau Arlen.â She raised her eyebrows. âI am Denise. I have a date tonight.â
âOh really?â
âYes, Heâs name is Knox.â
âOh, the new guy! He so cute.â
âI know. Which is why I said yes when he asked me out.â You turned your head as you heard the bell that hung above the door. âSpeaking of cute.â
Cassie smiled. âDid you get it?â
âI got the dates. He said he couldnât make me a copy.â You held out the paper for her.
âThat will work.â She took it. âThank you.â she started walking to her desk.
âWelcome.â You called after her.
âWell, I should probably get back to work, got a big olâ pile of nothing to get back to.
âHon youâve closed 3 cases in the last 2 weeks, Iâd say itâs a good time for a break.â Denise advised.
âOr you could do some digging for me and give me something to do.â You said with a smile.
âI can try, maybe you should call Beau.â She smiled and you rolled your eyes.
You made your way back over to your desk. You turn your computer on as you sit down. Drumming your finger while you watch the loading screen you decide to text him. You take your phone out of your jacket pocket and open it to your existing conversation.
Y/N: Beaufort
You opened your email while you waited for a reply. Nothing, absolutely nothing.
Your phone buzzed.
Beau: Iâm all out of favors today darlinâ
Y/N: Rude of you to assume Iâm only texting you for a favor. I was actually gonna ask you if you needed help with anything.
Beau: Calm down. It was a joke. Not today. Iâm still stuck at the office I have to get this paperwork done TODAY.
Y/N: Damnit. I need something to do.
Beau: Why donât you go home early and get ready for this big date you have tonight.
Y/N: My big date isnât until 7.  Are you saying I need 5 hours to pretty myself up.  đ€
Beau: You roll out of bed beautiful, and you know it. Just think you deserve to pamper yourself every once in awhile
Y/N: Nice save.
You hit the send button and turn off your screen. âCassie!â You yelled.
âYea?â she yelled back.
âPlease tell me you need help with something!â
âActually yes.â Â You jumped out of your seat and rushed to her desk. âAre you that bored?â she asked.
âYes, Iâm freaking dying here.â She handed you the papers in her hand and started giving you the run down of the case she was working on.
âIâm right.â Cassie whispered as you finish  reading the dates that were in Beauâs handwriting to her.
âYouâre right.â You reassured her.
âHoly shit. I have to go talk to Jenny.â She pulled her coat on. âSee you at the bar tonight.â
âUm probably not. â
âIâm sorry I forgot, I hope I donât see you tonight,â she winked at you. âCan we give this one a fighting chance though?â
âHardy har, har.â
Beauâs Pov
He sat down at the bar and looked up at the clock. 8:55. Sheâd probably be getting rid of the loser and walking through the door any minute now. âHey Pete.â He said as the bartender approached him on the other side of the bar.
âHowâs it going sheriff?â Pete said as he sat on a beer and a shot glass in front of Beau.
âWe may need a bigger glass.â He told Pete as he poured the whiskey.
âThat bad huh?â Pete asked. Beau just shook his head. He downed the shot of whiskey.
âI donât know Jenny. She seemed different about this one.â Cassie said as her and Jenny walked up to the bar. âHey Beau.â
âLadiesâ Beau said tipping his hat.
âYou want some company?â Jenny said as she sat on the barstool beside him.
âSure, why not?â
âWell, geez donât get too excited.â Cassie teased sitting on the other side of him
âWhatâs gotcha down?â Jenny asked as she got Peteâs attention. He brought over 2 more beers and 2 shot glasses for the girls. â
âPaperwork day, Jennyâ
âOh, thatâs right.â Pete began pouring their shots and a second one for Beau. âCheersâ Jenny said holding the full shot glass up. Beau and Cassie repeated. The three of them took their shots and sat the glasses on the bar.
Beau looked up at the clock again, 9:00. Come on where was she?
âPete, can we just get a bottle?â Jenny said grabbing her beer and her glass. Pete grabbed an unopened bottle of the same whiskey and handed it to her. âThank you. Can you put it on my tab?â Pete nodded. âGrab your glasses and bottles.â She led them over to a high top by the dart board.
âYou really wanna play darts?â Beau asked sitting his beer and glass on the table.
âWell not really, but it gets you away from that clock.â
âTouche.â
âCome on. Weâll make it fun. Every time someone gets a bullseye, we drink, every time someone misses the board, we drink.â Jenny persuaded.
âEvery time someone throws a dart, we drink.â Cassie teased making Beau chuckle.
Jenny grabbed 3 darts of different colors, handing one color to Cassie and another to Beau. âAlright.â He gestured for her to go first.
They took turns throwing the darts on the board and he was actually having a decent time. After 3 shots he checked his phone. 9:30. What the hell.
âWell, I guess (y/n)âs date must be going well. 2 and a half hours. No calls, no texts, and she hasnât shown up here yet.â Cassie said.
âOr sheâs at home drinking alone.â Beau rebuttals
Jenny poured another round of shots. They clinked and downed them. âBeau, youâre up.â
As he was throwing his last dart, he heard Jenny let a whistle out. There she was finally. Beau threw his dart and turned around. His heart nearly exploded in his chest. She was wearing olive green western looking dress, low cut, very low cut. The lower hem dangle over her cowboy boots, His eyes traced up to her face, God she was just beautiful. Makeup done up all nice and her hair in curls under a cowboy hat that matched her boots. What he wouldnât give to be the guy holding her hand right now. It should be him not this pretty country boy wannabe. Ugh he rolled his eyes. She smiled at them and mouthed the words oh my god as they made their way to the bar.
âDamn she looks good.â Jenny exclaimed.
âSo does her date!â Cassie added as they sat down at their table. He purposely sat in the chair facing the opposite direction.
âHe ainât that good lookinâ.â Beau sneered.
âOh Beau. Donât be jealous. You know we love you too.â Cassie teased.
His ears got hot as he heard her laugh. Clearly, she was interested in this guy. Â He huffed and poured himself a shot.
âHey pretty lady!â Cassie said as (y/n) walked up to the table.
She smiled. âHey guys. This is Knox.â Â She gestured towards him. âKnox. These are my best friends. Jenny,â Jenny put out her hand the Knox shook it. âCassie.â They repeated. âAnd this is Beau.â
He put his hand out âSheriff Beau Arlen. Iâm sorry Knot was itâ (y/n) glared at him.
Knox chuckled. âNo sir, Knoxâ he emphasized the x on the end. âWith a xâ
âMy bad.â Beau said with a smile.
âSo, tell us Knox what do you do?â Jenny asked.
âIâm a veterinarian.â She raised her eyebrows at Cassie.
âOh, are you going to work at Andyâs place?â Jenny asked
âUntil I take it over.â Jenny and Cassie furrowed their eyebrows. âAndy is my dad. He is fixinâ to retire within the next year or so.â
Beauâs phone started to ring. âThatâs probably Tiff.â He noticed (y/n)âs eye roll. âI should get going anyways. See you girls tomorrow. Box nice meeting you.â She shook her head. âGood night yâall.â
Reader's Pov
Today was your return to the office after taking a 3-day week. You and Knox made things official after 4 weeks of dating. He took you out to his familyâs lake house for the weekend to celebrate. You took a deep breath and walked through the door.
A big grin spread across Deniseâs face when she looked up âHow was he. I mean it? â
You chuckled. âIt was good.â You turn to walk to your desk
âThe weekend or the sex?â she asked.
âBoth.â You said and started walking. She chuckled.
As you sat down your phone started ringing. You looked at the screen âReally?â you said out loud. It was Beau, you havenât really seen or talked to him in about 2 or 3 weeks, only in passing. Wonder what he wants you thought to yourself.
âBeaufort. Whatâs wrong?â
âYou busy today?â
ânot sure I just got in.â
âok well find out and let me know. I need you.â
âOk. Let me talk to Cass and Iâll call you back.â
âOk.â He hung up.
âOk Beau.â You opened the door to find him pacing in his office. âwhatâs wrong?â
âShould I ask Tiffany to marry me?â He blurted out.
âUm excuse me?â You practically fell into the nearest chair as your legs went numb from shock.
âSo, this morning as I was leaving Tiffany stopped me and told me 3 years is long enough to know whether I want to marry her or not.â
Your eyes widened as your jaw dropped. âYouâre kidding me.â
âI wish I was.â
âWell, what did you tell her?â
âI told her I couldnât do this right now. I had to get to work. And if I was gonna ask her to marry me it was going to be on my terms. Not her forcing me into it.â
You know the question you had to ask, but you didnât want to. You didnât want the answer. Your heart hastened as you though over what he would say. â Do you want to marry her?â you couldnât hid the quiver in your voice.
âI donât know.â
You pulled on the bill of your baseball cap trying to hide the tears building in your eyes. âDo you love her?â
â Iâve stuck by her through everything. The lying, the cheating.â
âThatâs not what I asked B.â You began to blink rapidly trying everything that wasnât too obvious to dry out your eyes.
âWhy would I do all that if I didnât.â He stopped mid step. âI think I should just do it. Weâve been together this long. And Iâll probably be with her for the rest of my life anyhow.â
âWell thatâs a hell of a reason.â The words came out before you could stop them.
âLook I know youâre not here biggest fan, but I do care for her. Itâs going to be hard to keep a friend that is mean to my fiancĂ©e donât ya think.â
You shot up out of the chair. The nervousness and pain you felt turned into a white-hot rage. âAre you fucking kidding me right now Beau?!â Your hands begin to shake. You canât hold back the things youâve been dying to say for so long. âShe cheated on you for 2 months. Several times. Itâs not like it was a one-time mistake. God, I swear youâre as dumb as a box of rocks! I have absolutely no idea why you would stay with her. And if you really wanna marry someone that takes the greatest person on the face of this earth for granted, then be my freakin guest.â He just looked at you with a dumbfounded look on your face. Tears started coming back and you didnât bother trying to stop them. âBeau you are my best friend, and I love you, but I can not and will not sit here and watch you throw your life away and marry her.â He opened his mouth; you continued not giving him a chance to argue. âI really donât want to be this person, and I hate that I am saying this. but I canât be your friend if you do this.â You walked out the door, not giving him the chance to tell you he was going through with it anyway. You heard him yell after you, but you couldnât stop. You just wanted to get away from everything.
Beauâs Pov.
He sighed as he got back into his Defender. He pulled his phone out to call (y/n) for the 17th time, straight to voicemail. âSon of a bitch.â He yell as he hit the steering wheel. He scrolled in his contracts and hit the green icon. âCassie.â
âWhatâs up Beau?â
âPlease tell me youâve from (y/n)â
âI thought she was with you.â
âAre you at the office?â
âYea? What the hell happened Beau?â
âIll tell you when I get there.â
Denise and Cassie jumped as Beau charged through the door. âYou guys really havenât seen or talked to her?â He asked.
âNo. Tell us what happened!â Cassie demanded.
âWell, I called her and told her I needed her help. I was given an ultimatum this morning.â Cassie raised her eyebrows. He went over the fight with them. âAnd then she stormed out.â
âOh, Beau. I canât believe you donât see itâ Denise realized what she had said and put her hands over her mouth.
âSee what?â he asked
âNever mind. Iâll make some coffee.â Denise walked away.
âHer phone is going straight to voicemail. Sheâs not at the bar, not at her house. I tried the dinner, a couple parks I know she likes, I tried the gazebo by the lake, I have looked literally everywhere, Cassie, I canât find her.â He was anxious and jittery. They have had some fights in the past. The one they got into was when he took tiffany back was especially bad, but she was always waiting at the bar for him with a beer and a shot.
âJust calm down. Give me a minute.â Cassie got up and walked to the kitchen. âWhat do you know Denise?â
âI shouldnât had said anything.â She kept her back to Cassie. âItâs not my business.â
Cassie walked up to her and put her hand on Deniseâs shoulder âDenise.â
âI thought it was pretty dang obvious, but I guess not. Sheâs in love with Beau. Has been since sheâs known him. Thatâs why she never keeps a man around. Sheâs been hoping one day he would wake up and realize.â
Beau felt the air leave his lungs as he leaned on the kitchen doorframe. She was in love with him. This had to be a joke. What was so special about him? Thereâs no way someone like her could love him. âSheâs in love with me?â
Cassie and Denise spun around. âFrick.â Denise said.
Cassieâs phone started to ring. âHey (y/n).â His eyes shot to Cassie. She was nodding. âAlright. I understand. Take the day. Iâll see you in the morning, ok?â âIf you need anything just call, ok?â ok.â Cassie hung up and walked to her desk. Beau followed. She started writing on a piece of paper.
âAre you going.â
âGo to the Strickland stables. Follow these directions.â She handed him the paper. âSheâll be there.â
âDid she tell you that?â
âTrust me.â she shook the paper at him.
Readerâs pov.
You inhaled deeply looking out at the view as you sat on the wooden fence. You turned your head as you heard the swishing of the grass on jeans. âCassie told you where Iâd be huh?â
âShe wrote me out directions.â He leaned on the fence beside you. âShe told me you used to come here with your brother.â
âYeah, Cody would bring me up here back in the day, when life got too stressful. When we were kids, he told me to throw my problems at the mountains and they would throw solutions back.â You said with a chuckled. The cold wind made the tear dropâs trails sting your skin.
âThey give you anything good today?â
âNot really.â
âCan I try?â
You chuckled. âSure.â He hopped over the fence and stood in front of you. After a minute or two he turned back to you with a big smile on his face. You hopped down. âWhat did they say?â.
He took a couple steps. He was close. âThey told me to stop being such a chicken and do this. He pulled you into him, his hands cupping your face as he leaned in, the anticipation crackling in the air. Then, with a swift, decisive movement, he dipped you backwards, your heels lifted off the ground, his lips meeting yours in a fervent collision, as your bodies pressed tightly together, the world around you faded away.
He brought you back up and rested his forehead against yours. âWell. That was. Some. Damn. Good advice.â You said between heavy pants. He chuckled and kissed you again. You smiled with wide eyes as a thought popped into your head.
âWhat?â
"I just realized that I have several more ways to persuade you now."
his head lifted as he let out a laugh.

what I don't remember now - a shigaraki x f!reader fic
Tomura's life doesn't end when his death sentence is handed down, and he knows damn well that he's innocent. It won't be long before one of his appeals proves it, and he can come home -- back to his friends, and back to you, the girlfriend who stood by him through the trial. But death row is a nightmare Tomura can't wake up from, and as the years behind bars begin to pile up, Tomura starts to question if it really matters whether he did it. If he'll ever be free. And if you and the other people who love him have forgotten him for good. (cross-posted to Ao3)
This is the prequel fic to 'if my heart was a house', and covers what's happened to Tomura since the last time he and the reader saw each other. I did a not-insignificant amount of research into the criminal justice system in Japan, specifically on prison conditions, prisoner treatment, and the administration of the death penalty. There is some dark and potentially triggering content, especially in later chapters, so please be wary! dividers/banners by @cafekitsune
one
Itâs cold. Tomura lies still in the half-darkness of his cell, willing himself not to shiver. If he shivers, thatâs it. Thatâs an admission that he canât hack it, that being here is getting to him, that he canât swallow the fistful of bitter pills that have been shoved down his throat. Tomura made a decision, somewhere between his sentencing and when he was shoved out of an armored transport in the yard of an unnamed prison, that heâs not going to give a nanometer. Heâs not going to blink, or flinch, or whatever the fuck. Do that, and itâll look like acceptance. And Tomuraâs not going to accept being sentenced to death for something he didnât fucking do.
Tomuraâs not a good person. On his best day heâs lazy and on his worst heâs an unapologetic asshole. The most redeeming feature he has is the fact that better people than him want to be around him for some reason, and itâs not because heâs good-looking or ambitious or rich. Since birth Tomuraâs been a disappointment. Thatâs not the same thing as being a murderer, and as many good reasons as Tomura has to hate the house he grew up in and the family who lived there with him, none of them are enough to make him kill them all.
He doesnât remember what he was doing the night of the murders, except that he spent part of it in the hospital. He doesnât remember confessing, which he apparently did, and when he tries to think about any of it, he gets a splitting headache and the kind of nausea that means heâs gotten hosed down in his cell eight times since he arrived three weeks ago. Tomuraâs trial is a blur, too. The only thing thatâs clear in his head is the memory of you â you, and your hands clasped tight around his, holding on so hard that Tomura thought his fingers would break. Your hands are smaller than his. Your hands were strong. Your hands are warm.
Thinking of you is one way to warm up, but it comes at a cost. A shiver runs through Tomura from his fingers up, and he lurches upright on his cot to hide the motion. A split second later, the lights in his cell go on, so bright that heâs blinded for a second. He raises his hand to shield his eyes, and a guard barks at him over the intercom. âInmate 230385, return to the rest position immediately.â
âI just sat up,â Tomura says. âIs that illegal or something?â
âReturn to the rest position.â
âWhy?â
âReturn to the rest position or corrective action will be taken.â
Corrective action? Tomuraâs already on death row. What the hell do they think they can do to him that will make a difference? Take him out of his cell, probably. And put him somewhere colder. Tomuraâs blanket slid down when he sat up. He hitches it back up and lies down again.
He doesnât need to cause trouble. Heâs not going to be here long. Heâs got appeals pending, and thereâs no way the judge who hears the next one will be as stupid as the one at his trial. Tomuraâs not going to die here. Sooner or later, heâs going to get out, and when he does, nothing anyone said at the trial will matter. His friends will still be there, and so will you. Tomura just has to hold out until then.
He stares up at the ceiling and tries not to shiver. It gets easier when he remembers the warmth of your hands around his, the last time he saw you. Tomura thinks about that, about you, and it helps. But even your memory canât quite keep out the cold.
two
Someoneâs coughing. Tomura canât tell which cell theyâre in, but theyâre making a hell of a lot of noise, and itâs ripping at Tomuraâs nerves. He didnât use to have such a problem with noise, but the death row is so silent most of the time that Tomura can hear the other inmates breathing in their tiny cells. No one gets to talk unless spoken to by the guards, and the guards never speak to anyone unless itâs to correct someone. Tomuraâs been on the receiving end of corrective action more than a few times by now. Itâs usually not worth it.
Tomura knows itâs not worth it, and still, the urge is there. He wants to say things. He wants to ask questions â like why heâs not allowed to make phone calls or write letters, whatâs happening to all the phone calls and letters that he knows are coming for him. He doesnât want anything to do with the other prisoners, but if he needed to talk to them, heâd want to know the option was available without risking the loss of his exercise period or getting his meals reduced from three to two per day. Tomuraâs heard there are worse punishments. If heâs going to get one of those, itâs not going to be for trying to talk to someone.
Still, the coughing sounds like itâs killing whoeverâs doing it â but before it kills them, itâs going to kill Tomura, because he canât take this fucking noise. He canât say a word without permission, but this asshole gets to hack out a lung with no consequences at all? Fuck that. Tomura clenches his jaw, trying to hold in the howl of frustration. He clamps his hands over his ears so he wonât have to hear it any longer. They need to stop. No one cares, and itâs driving Tomura insane â more insane than the silence, more insane than the cold. Shut up, he thinks at them, whoever the fuck they are. Shut up, shut up â
âShut the fuck up!â someone else explodes from somewhere further down death row. âJust die already!â
âInmate 113019, this is a verbal reprimand for speaking out of turn. If you continue ââ
âYeah. Go for it! Put me in the protection cells! At least then Iâll be away from this fucking noise ââ
The coughing takes on a weird, wet note that it hasnât had before, something that makes Tomuraâs skin crawl. Itâs drowned out almost instantly by the sound of the guardsâ footsteps down the hall on their way to lower the hammer on 113019, whoever he is. Whoever he is, he puts up a fight. Tomura hears heavy thuds, curses, a burst of sound that might be sobs or laughter, and somewhere in the middle of it, the coughing comes to a complete stop. It doesnât start up again, and once the guards drag 113019 away, the cell block is dead silent once more.
Two minutes ago, all Tomura wanted was for it to be quiet again. Right now, he canât help wondering why the coughing stopped so suddenly. Right now, he misses the noise.
three
Thereâs frost on the ground, and Tomura can see his breath. His teeth are chattering, and heâs shivering too hard to walk. He shouldnât be outside. But he gets one exercise period per day, and itâs the only time he gets to spend outside his cell. The only time he gets to see the sky and breathe air that hasnât been recycled thousands of times until it tastes old and stale. It doesnât matter if itâs below freezing. If Tomura has a chance to be outside, he should use it.
He forces himself to take even steps on his way around the tiny exercise yard, and at the same time, he lets his mind wander â back to you, because itâs easier to think about you out here than it is in his cell. He doesnât want to imagine you in there with him. Out here, itâs easier. He can pretend the two of you are meeting up to go for a walk, like you did on your first date. He can pretend youâre just around the next turn.
After the first time you ran into each other, Tomura didnât think heâd see you again. Which was stupid. You worked at the library on campus, and he needed to use the library, so of course he was going to see you. And every time you saw him, you talked to him until you had to go do something else â like renew someoneâs checked-out book, reserve them a study room, schedule a session with a tutor, find a source they really should have been able to find on their own. At first Tomura took those interruptions as his cue to leave. Then he started waiting through them. Then he started coming by even if you were busy, waiting however long it took for you to have time for him.
Tomura hadnât meant to ask you out, exactly. He just told you that he wanted to talk more sometime when you werenât busy, and you suggested taking a walk together. Worked for him. Except for the part where it was really cold, even though the sun was out and the air was still, and the part where Tomura handles the cold the same way cats handle being sprayed with a hose. He was shivering before the two of you made it halfway around campus.
You noticed. Are you okay?
Fine, Tomura muttered, and you gave him a skeptical look â but you didnât argue. You always knew how to call him on his bullshit, right from the beginning. Arenât you cold?
I run kind of warm, you said, and you held out your hands. Here.
Tomura knew it didnât mean anything, but his stomach still twisted, and his hands were shaking from more than the cold when he settled them in yours. Your hands were warm, just like you said theyâd be. Warm, but not sweaty, and before Tomura could say anything, you folded his hands together, with yours on either side. Youâre freezing, you said. I can keep you warm, but we should probably go inside.
Yeah. Tomura was glad you were holding his hands that way. Any other way, and heâd have latched on tight, refusing to let go. Sorry. This was a dumb idea.
Not really. A walk is a decent first date.
A first date. You wanted it to be a date, and you thought it was a good one. Tomuraâs face somehow managed to heat up without making the rest of him any warmer. If I ask you to get coffee with me right now, can that be our second date?
You smiled. That made Tomura feel warmer, almost as warm as your hands felt around his. That works for me.
You always kept Tomura warm, and not for the first time, Tomura wonders whatâs happening to you out there. Where you are, what youâre doing. If you found somewhere to live, because you canât pay the rent in yours and Tomuraâs apartment alone. If youâve got your job still, because Tomura was pretty sure you were going to lose it for calling out so many days to sit with him during the trial. If youâre okay without him.
Tomuraâs not okay without you. Thatâs why he has to be careful where he thinks about you. Not inside, when he canât escape the fact that heâs been in prison for three years already. Only out here, in the cold, when he can think about what itâll be like when all this is over. A guard shouts at Tomura that itâs time to come inside, and Tomura picks up the pace. One more circuit around the tiny yard. A few more seconds walking with you.
four
Tomura closes his eyes and listens to the quiet tapping against the bars of the cell beside his. Itâs taken him four years in here to learn Morse code, and now that he knows it, he can talk to the other inmates on death row â the ones he feels like talking to, which is basically no one. The person next to him is all right. He calls himself Kurogiri. Tomura doesnât know why heâs here.
Nobody knows why Tomuraâs here, either. On the rare occasions anyone gets to talk to anyone else, they have better things to do than go over what bullshit twist of fate led to their death sentences. Convictions donât matter when theyâre all waiting on the same punishment. All that matters is time â how much time theyâve spent in here, and how much more time itâll take for this to end. It says something about this place that four years after he was sentenced, Tomuraâs still the newest one on the block.
Not for long, though. Thatâs what Kurogiriâs saying. Tomura taps out a response. H-o-w k-n-o-w?
G-u-a-r-d-s. Kurogiri has some kind of in with the guards. Heâs never said what it is, and Tomuraâs never asked. K-u-n-i-e-d-a o-l-d c-e-l-l.
So far in Tomuraâs time here, only one inmateâs died, and it wasnât in an execution. The inmate who was sick during Tomuraâs second winter here died of whatever he had, and the guards didnât find him in the cell until the next morning. By that point the smell of death was everywhere, and instead of letting the inmates move somewhere else until it was gone, the guards left all the vents open to flush it out. They let in the cold, too. It took Tomura two weeks to get warm.
He wonders if anyoneâs going to tell the new guy what happened to the last person who lived there. Then again, nobodyâs told Tomura what happened to the last occupant of his cell. He doesnât want to know. Kurogiri is tapping out another message, and Tomura listens idly. Y-o-u o-k?
Tomura double-taps â shorthand for yes. W-h-y?
Thereâs a long pause. A really long pause. Tomuraâs in the process of repeating himself when another prisoner responds from down the hall. C-h-i-c-k-e-n-s-h-i-t. T-e-l-l h-i-m o-r I w-i-l-l.
W-h-a-t? Tomura asks. His stomach is clenching, nausea welling up like he hasnât felt in months. Itâs hard to get scared in here. Nothing ever happens. T-e-l-l â
F-i-r-s-t a-p-p-e-a-l d-e-n-i-e-d. Kurogiri answers so fast that Tomura can barely decipher it. O-n-l-y f-i-r-s-t o-n-e. O-t-h-e-r-s â
Tomuraâs not listening anymore. He manages to roll sideways off his bed before he throws up, but thatâs it. The nausea that overtakes him is too powerful for him to do anything but vomit on the floor, then dry-heave once his stomach empties itself completely. The other inmates are laughing at him, calling out even though the guards are already on their way. The same inmate who always gets dragged out for talking is the loudest. âYouâre getting off easy, kid! You killed seven people, but you only have to die once.â
âThere are more appeals,â Kurogiri says. His voice is soft, almost comforting, completely at odds with the sound of Tomuraâs cell door scraping open, drowned out almost entirely by the rush of cold water spraying from the fire hose, dousing Tomura and the mess and everything in his cell all at once. âYou donât need to worry. The process has already begun ââ
âI didnât know.â Tomuraâs voice is hoarse, and his mouth tastes so awful that the sensation of air rushing over his tongue makes him retch again. âWhy didnât anyone tell me?â
The other inmates jeer at him, pointing out that they did tell him, but they must know thatâs not what Tomura meant. Tomura should have heard that news from a lawyer, from an administrator, from a doctor â from somebody important. Not from a bunch of murderers. What if that hadnât been his first appeal? What if it was his last one? If all his appeals fail, how is Tomura going to find out? Is anyone going to tell him, or is he just going to wake up one morning and find out itâs his last day on earth?
Tomura tries not to think of you in here, when things get bad. But he lets himself this time, just this once. Just to imagine that someoneâs here who loves him, someone who cares that heâs sick and lonely and terrified. Someone who could tell him that itâll be all right. Someone heâd believe. But when his skin is crawling with cold and disgust and terror so strongly that he canât help but try to scratch it away, itâs hard to imagine that even you could make him feel better.
five
Tomuraâs never gotten a letter from the outside. Never gotten a letter from you or any of his friends or whichever lawyer is handling his appeals â or even from Sensei, who spent the entire trial testifying against him so he could âlearn his lessonâ. Tomura thinks Sensei owes him an explanation, given that Senseiâs testimony put him away. The person he described as committing the murders sounds nothing like Tomura, because Tomura didnât do it. He wants to hear what Sensei has to say about that. If Sensei thinks heâs learned his lesson yet.
Itâs the lack of contact from you and the others that worries him more. He thought for sure heâd hear from you, from Spinner, from Toga, from Twice. Dabiâs not the letter-writing type, and Magne and Compress were newer additions to the group, but Tomura thought theyâd maybe write at least once in five years. Heâd call and ask, but heâs only got some of the phone numbers memorized, and what if youâve changed them? It doesnât matter. He doesnât get visits or phone calls anyway.
It feels like a punishment, but Tomura canât figure out what he did. He acts up the standard amount for a death row prisoner, enough to lose his exercise period or get his food restricted or have his cell tossed and lose anything heâs managed to keep in there. Nothing that deserves no phone calls for five years. Five fucking years. Itâs not until the newest inmate starts acting up that Tomura gets a real answer.
He knows the name of the guy in Kuniedaâs old cell only because the guy keeps insisting on being called by it, no matter how many times the guards correct him for speaking out of turn. When heâs not picking stupid fights with the guards, Chisaki is bitching about how this prison compares to his last prison, and everybody got tired of it within six weeks of his arrival. Tomura doesnât have anything to compare this prison to. Before this, heâd never spent even a night in jail.
As summer turns to fall turns to winter and the temperature inside the cell block drops to just above freezing, Chisaki calms down. For a week, then another week, then an entire month. Did he get religion or something? Tomuraâs seen that happen to at least one prisoner by now, but from what he can tell, it usually takes longer. To go from fucking around constantly to not fucking around at all is a big shift. Itâs weird.
One day, while heâs huddled up in his cell under his stupidly thin blanket, Tomura hears voices filtering in from the exercise yard. His cell has vents that let in the cold, and apparently also give him the chance to eavesdrop. Heâs never had a chance to eavesdrop before, but thatâs because no one ever talks.
Of course itâs Chisaki talking. Heâs somehow gotten permission from one of the guards to speak up, and heâs getting straight to the point. âMy behavior for the last month has been exemplary. In my previous prison such a record has resulted in the renewal of privileges which were previously removed â such as the opportunity for visitors. When will that be restored?â
Whichever guard heâs talking to laughs awkwardly. âNobody told you?â
âTold me what?â
Tomuraâs interested, too. He listens closer. âYou were in maximum security before, but itâs â different here,â the guard says awkwardly. âOnce a sentence is finalized, no contact is allowed with the outside world.â
âWhat?â Chisaki demands. âWhy not?â
âItâs policy. Contact with the outside world causes distress for condemned prisoners and their families and has no practical benefit. I â no, stop ââ
Shouting erupts in the yard, and Tomura cringes away from the vents, his eyes burning. Itâs not a punishment. Itâs not a punishment, which means it canât be lifted, which means that even if you and the others have been calling and writing letters, you canât get through. Tomura will never get those letters. Tomura canât write back. When Tomura saw you in the courtroom after his sentencing wasnât just the last time he ever saw you, itâs the last time heâll ever get to talk to you. And he didnât know it. If heâd known it he would have said â
The noise from the exercise yard is so intense that the rest of the cell block can hear it, too. Theyâre doing what they usually do, any time someone shows weakness, and because theyâre shouting at Chisaki, whoâs bought himself a one-way ticket to the protection cell for the next month, no one notices as Tomura sinks down in the corner of his cell and scratches his neck until it bleeds.
six
Somebodyâs death sentence gets reduced to life, and the cell next to Tomuraâs opens up. Rather than leaving it open, leaving Tomura alone, the guards move fucking Chisaki into it. Itâs not bad enough that Tomura has to rot in here until one of his appeals is successful and gets him out of here â he has to listen to Chisakiâs bitching and whining, too. And eventually Chisaki breaks the cardinal rule, the one rule that keeps everybody on death row even sort of sane. He picked up Morse code faster than Tomura did, and one day he taps out a question aimed at Tomura. W-h-a-t d-i-d y-o-u d-o?
He signs off with the last two numbers of his prisoner number, like Tomuraâs confused about whoâs sending this dumb message. Tomura doesnât bother with identifying himself by tacking the last two digits of his ID on the front of his response. f-u-c-k o-f-f.
D-i-d y-o-u d-o i-t?
f-u-c-k o-f-f. Not for the first time, Tomura wishes he could all-caps a message without banging on the bars loudly enough to attract the guardsâ attention. Morse code really needs a shift key. W-h-a-t d-i-d y-o-u d-o? Y-o-u f-i-r-s-t.
Silence. Of course. Chisaki can dish it out, but he canât take it for shit. Tomura settles into the quiet, not hoping to enjoy the break so much as get through it without making himself feel worse. Downtime is bad for Tomura these days. He spends too much time thinking. Too much time getting angry. Too much time figuring out how he got here.
He knows Sensei set him up. It had to have been Sensei, because Sensei was in charge of Tomura when Tomura was fifteen, and Sensei kept hinting that Tomura should try to reconcile with his family. Tomura only agreed so Sensei would leave him alone about it. Heâd meet them, deal with whatever happened, see if he could talk Hana at least into staying in touch and sending him pictures of Mon, and get out of there. It was going to be a bad night no matter what. At least Sensei agreed to go with him.
But something went wrong. They never made it there, at least not in Tomuraâs memory, because Tomura woke up in the hospital. Heâd blacked out or passed out or something, and as soon as he was borderline lucid, Sensei gave him the news. Tomura still remembers the weird way he delivered it, like he was telling Tomura they were having something gross for dinner instead of telling him that his entire family had been murdered. Tomura didnât react the right way, either. He was supposed to meet his family. Now he wasnât going to. He laid back down and went under again.
They used that, at the trial, seven years later. The fucking prosecutor asked Sensei a bunch of questions about how Tomura responded to the news, and Sensei told them how unsettling it was that Tomura didnât care at all about his family dying. Tomuraâs lawyer wouldnât let him get on the stand to explain his side. Theyâve already decided youâre guilty. Donât make it worse.
They were going to kill him. Tomura knew that by then. There was no way to make it worse than it was already going to be, and if he was already guilty, he might as well have told the truth. What little of it he remembers.
Chisaki is tapping on the bars again at a pace Tomura couldnât keep up with if he wanted to. His fingers are too fucking cold. W-e a-r-e-n-t d-i-s-c-u-s-s-i-n-g m-e.
No, theyâre not discussing anybody. Tomuraâs done with this. Screw the guards â he taps with emphasis. F-U-C-K O-F-F.
âYou want to know what he did? Iâll tell you.â Prisoner 113019 laughs from across the hallway â the same one who always laughs when something bad happens to someone else. For the first time since he got here, Tomura prays for the guards to get here fast. âThe little rat bastardâs a mass murderer. Greased his entire family.â
Tomura doesnât know how 19 got ahold of that information, and right now, he doesnât care. He just wants the guards to get here and shut him up. âHis body count is higher than mine, and he wonât even own up to it like a man,â 19 continues, gleeful. âYouâve heard him talking in his sleep. He says heâs innocent.â
âShut up,â Tomura says. His voice sounds awful, and he realizes all at once that he canât remember the last time he spoke. It doesnât matter if he talks now. Theyâve only got one protection cell, and 019 is going in it. âYou donât know what youâre talking about ââ
âAnd not only is his count the second-highest on death row,â 019 continues, ignoring Tomura, âheâs a sadist, too. Maybe his family deserved it â theyâd have to for raising something like him â but thereâs no way his dog had it coming.â
âShut up!â Tomura explodes. His voice cracks, and he can feel his face contorting, eyes squeezing shut and jaw clenching tight. Heâs not going to cry. He canât cry here. âYou stupid fuck. I didnât do it!â
Death row erupts in laughter, just in time for the guards to arrive. Sure enough, they head to 019âs cell first, but two guards break off to drag Tomura out of his for a talking-to, also known as getting beaten up in places that wonât show. Tomuraâs been in here long enough, knows how it works here well enough, to be almost thankful for a reason to feel pain. If anyone sees him, theyâll think his eyes are watering because he just took a baton to the ribs. Not because he misses his dog.
Tomura didnât mention his familyâs deaths to you for a while. He didnât want to see you react, because he knows how people react to stuff like that â like Tomuraâs just a tragic backstory with an ugly face, like everything he is can be described by the worst things that ever happened to him. He didnât bring up his family, but he mentioned Mon, and you asked. Tomura told himself to answer like a normal person. He ended up crying instead, and you didnât laugh or look at him differently. You just reached for his hand and â
A blow to the hip knocks Tomura off-balance, just in time for another hit in the stomach to double him over, and Tomura crashes sideways to the floor. He sprawls out, pinned with a guardâs knee on his back, as 019 marches past, flanked by four guards, and still leering down at him. Something snaps in Tomuraâs head. He reaches through the guardsâ legs, seizes 019âs ankle, and yanks his leg out from underneath him.
The knee grinds harder into his back, knocking the air out of his lungs, but Tomura can barely feel it. Heâs trying to pull his hand back, and heâs too slow. Slow enough for a guard to see what heâs doing. Slow enough for the guard to raise one boot and stomp down on Tomuraâs hand with all his strength, and for the first time since he set foot on death row, Tomura screams.

Imagine if things never went wrong between Ai and Hikaru, and they ended up getting married and raising Taiki together alongside Aqua and Ruby?
i feel so sorry for all the anons who send me cute prompts and then get responses like this lol
SO!!! To be very clear anon, this is not me being Mad At You and while I do 100% sound heated and mad in this response this is because this is something I feel pretty strongly about but haven't really had an outlet to explain lol. But I actually personally really hate the trend in fandom of portraying Taiki as being raised by Ai and Hikaru in hypothetical happy end AUs and I don't think people are REALLY actually thinking about what they're presenting here.
Like... Hikaru is a rape victim! Taiki is a child produced by Hikaru being raped, as a child himself no less! He did not consent to that pregnancy! Hikaru is not Taiki's father in any sense but the purely biological and he clearly does not have any positive or fatherly feelings for him - his absolute meltdown at Airi and Uehara's funeral is implicitly triggered by the sight of Taiki and his continued existence being a symbol of Airi's violation of him. And if 15 Year Lie is anything to go by, we have every reason to believe that Airi was not above weaponising the fact of her pregnancy to make Hikaru feel complicit in and eternally soiled by what had happened to him.
I hate resorting to this kind of rhetoric but imagine for a second that we were talking about a female character here - you immediately, instinctively recognise how utterly insane it would be to present "raising the baby she was forced to conceive with her rapist at age 11" as a happy end for her so why is Hikaru not given this same grace? What happened to Hikaru is not any less traumatic or less of a violation just because his rapist was the one who got pregnant.
To be clear, it's not like I don't understand where this comes from - this setup tends to exist in scenarios where the characters are uncomplicatedly healed and happy and this also applies to Taiki. His life is so goddamn miserable that I understand the instinct to want to put him in what we know is a happy family and to imagine him, too, as happy and loved there.
But what happened to Hikaru and how Taiki was conceived are topics that cannot and should not be made uncomplicated. I can understand a discomfort or reluctance to engage with the topic of CSA even in a purely canon typical context but the solution to that is not to just handwave it away and refuse to think about its implications when directly engaging with the character who is a CSA victim. I think it's shockingly irresponsible even in just a fandom context to portray "raising his rape baby" as a happy end for Hikaru or to present even implicitly the idea that he has some kind of obligation or fatherly duty to Taiki, a child who was conceived without his consent.

javier escuella x reader
summary: the fall of the van der linde gang was the thing that doomed what had been between you and javier. you loved each other, you truly did, but after he chose dutch's side, and you stood by arthur, you knew this is the end. however, a few years later the fate had led you right back to javier.

!!!rdr2 spoilers!! rdr1 spoilers too i guess?
âĄthis was requested!âĄ
a/n: okay so i have never played rdr1 nor have i watched any gameplays, but i conciously spoiled it to myself after having finished rdr2, so i know what happens in rdr1, but forgive me if i have missed some details from the game
You never had the intention of heading to Mexico. Well, back when you and Javier were a thing, he always talked about how he was someday going to take you there. But due to what happened to the gang, it never happened, so you buried the memories six feet deep.
Long story short, Javier sided with Dutch and his ideas that got crazier each day, one worse than the other. On one hand you understood his loyalty, but you looked at the problem more objectively. Dutch's brilliant ideas were dangerous, leading the gang into a dead end, from where there was no saving.
"Loyalty is the only thing that can save us." Javier would often remind you.
By then, the gang had moved somewhere near Annesburg. The damn cave you had cleared of its previous tenants was making the camp feel cold, unfamiliar, even scary. Or maybe it wasn't the cave's fault. So much had changed the past few months since that failed job in Blackwater.
"Look, I love Dutch like a father, he practically raised me," you had replied, "but right now he's leading us all into a grave!"
"So what, you're going to side with Arthur? With John? Turn your back on everything we've built?"
"I can't be with you if you support ideas of a man who doesn't give a shit about none of us anymore!"
In that moment, you had been ready to leave. If only Javier wanted to, you two would have left the gang, keep your head low for some time, and eventually leave a happy ever after.
But that never happened. Javier had been blinded by his loyalty to Dutch, and you saw it even without Arthur pointing it out. Because Dutch saved Javier's life a few years before, Javier was now willing to give it up for plans that were doomed from the start.
After you had left, you had no idea what happened to any of the others. You've heard a whisper here and there in saloons, talking of the great fall of the Van Der Linde gang, some people that died, but never any details.
"I guess this is where we part ways." You had stated the last time you ever saw Javier. It were as if you needed to say it for yourself, because it still didn't feel real.
Old you never thought a breakup with Javier would ever have to happen. But then, the old Javier wouldn't put Dutch over the love of his life. Maybe it just wasn't what you were to him, after all.
He knew you still loved him, even if you hated you were on separate edges of the war within your gang. "You don't mean that."
Did he say that because he still loved you too? Or was he just so full of himself? In that moment it hit you, the memory of how John had called Javier a cynic that tried so hard to be a romantic. Maybe the fall of the gang caused Javier's true colors to show.
"I do." Tears appeared in your eyes when you thought about how you'd often imagine saying these words to Javier, but in slightly different circumstances.
For a moment, you thought he might argue, that he would try to convince you one last time. But instead, he looked at you with an expression you had never seen on his face before. There was sorrow, and regret. And the sign of an internal struggle within him.
"Then go," his final words pierced your heart, "just don't expect me to save you when everything falls apart."
Like a prophecy, everything did fall apart. The next few years were so difficult for you. You couldn't get a job, you had practically nothing left. You left the gang, but you never left the life of crime. It was the only way of living you knew.
The price on your head grew, at some point you stopped keeping track of how much it was. You had no way to redeem yourself, but there wasn't a thing you'd regret. You did what you had to in the order to survive. Regret wouldn't feed you, and it sure as hell wouldn't protect you from the men who wanted your head.
The next job was supposed to be simple. You were going to deliver a shipment of rifles to a small band of people like yourself near the border. But nothing ever went according to plan and you were ambushed. You ran, and all you knew was that now you were in Mexico, the place you were supposed to someday visit with the man you once had loved.
Coming back to America would be too risky, maybe fate just wanted for you to end up in Mexico, so after weeks of travel you thought you finally found a safer place to rest. The building looked like an abandoned house, falling apart, but it was better than the lack of any roof over your head.
You woke up one night to a group of unfamiliar male voices talking to each other outside. In Spanish, so you didn't even understand a single word. Before you could silently flee, the door opened, and you had been found by a group of Mexican bounty hunters.
Maybe it was the dehydration, the hunger, the lack of good sleep, but you could swear one man looked way too familiar.
"Javier..?" You asked quietly, to shocked to be scared by the three other men pointing their guns at you.
"ÂżLa conoces?" One of the men asked, as Javier's shocked expression didn't go unnoticed.
["Do you know her?"]
Javier quickly recomposed himself, as if slipping into a role. "Es mĂa." It was a gamble, but Javier had always been good at those.
["She's mine."]
"¿De qué carajos estås hablando, Escuella?"
["What the fuck are you talking about?"]
"Vale mĂĄs viva. Y no pienso compartir la recompensa. VĂĄyanse ahora o ninguno de ustedes se va a ir caminando."
["She's worth more alive. And I'm not going to share the reward. Leave now, or none of you will walk away walking."]
The other bounty hunters passed knowing looks among each other. "Bien," one of them nudged Javier, you reckoned it was a playful gesture, "es tu problema."
["Fine, she's your problem."]
The other men left, and you were confused. How the hell were you having a reunion with Javier in such circumstances? As if out of habit, your reached for your gun, resting your hand on the holster at your hip.
"What the hell are you doing here?" You asked, standing up.
"I could ask you the same thing, querida." He raised his hands to show you he doesn't mean bad. "I'm not going to hurt you." He's always had an accent when he spoke in English, which you had always adored. Now, the accent was even more prominent.
You pointed the gun at him, unlocking it. "Yeah, just hand me over so I can swing." You snapped. "That's the great Javier Escuella! Bounty hunting, of all things! That's ridiculous!"
"At least it's honest work. Continuing the way you chose... did you think the law will never catch up to you?"
"That's rich coming from you."
Javier's jaw muscles twitched, betraying the calmness was just a mask he put on. He lowered his hands slowly, but didn't reach for his weapon. "You don't know what I've been through. I lost everything."
"Just as I did! I've lost the gang, the life we had... you..." you paused before you seethed at him, "don't you dare act like you're the only one who's suffered. Nothing justifies selling people out for a few... whatever currency you have here."
Javier's gaze softened, you could swear you saw his lips twitch into a smirk momentarily. "I didn't sell you out, did I?"
Suddenly, the words 'then go, just don't expect me to save you when everything falls apart,' rang in your mind again. Truth be told, those words were said in anger, and right now... Javier was far from angry.
He hadn't seen you in years, but he still loved you. Maybe even more than before. After the gang fell appart, he quickly came to the conclusion you were the love of his life. There was no one better before, nor after. Meeting you again was felt like life giving him another chance.
"Why don't you sell me out, then?" You asked, lowering your weapon.
Javier smirked, as if the answer was supposed to be obvious to you. "Because I don't want you to swing, querida." He took a few steps closer, carefully as if approaching a wild animal.
"You don't get to suddenly act as if you care." Your voice was aggressive, but it sounded forced, almost cracking. "Let me go, and tell your... friends that I ran away."
"I couldn't let you go for all these years. You think I haven't thought about you every day since we parted? You think I don't regret the choices I made?"
You knew Javier has always had a way with words. In the charming way, not in the brash way Sean used to. Javier's words were like quiet, seductive whispers whenever he wanted or needed them to be. And maybe right now he just needed to sweet-talk you into giving in.
"Regret doesn't mean shit," you tried to snap at him, "you chose Dutch over me. We could leave the gang, leave a good lifeâ"
Javier interrupted you, "Dutch knew how to get inside our heads."
"Just help me get out of here."
Javier took a deep breath, glancing outside the broken window momentarily. He could see the other bounty hunters leaving, the road's dust raising at their horses' hooves. They were far enough.
"Fine." Javier said finally, his voice disappointed.
The man grabbed your wirst, sternly but without hurting you. Now that he had you again, he was supposed to let you go. That wasn't what he wanted.
After he led you outside, you felt his grip loosen up to eventually let go of your wrist completely. Contrary to what it should make you feel, you were... disappointed? As if at some point you thought he would fight harder to win you back.
Then you realized. Javier didn't want to part ways again, but neither did you. And just when you thought there was no more hope, the man spoke up.
"You don't know this place," he said, "you're hungry, exhausted, don't know the language. Let me help you."
Your stomach had been empty for a long time, your legs ached, and the pounding in your head was getting unbearable. There were more reasons not to trust Javier, than to trust him, but you needed help. Maybe you could just sneak away after he helps you.
"And what do you get out of this?" You asked.
"I get to make up for my mistakes." He replied. "I'll show you I'm not the same man that let you go. Maybe I'll even get to keep you safe this time."
"I don't need saving. I can survive on my own."
"Not here, querida. This isn't the United States. How are you going to survive if you don't know how to even buy a damn apple in Spanish?"
Scoffing, you crossed your arms. "Don't need talking to steal."
"And make your bounty grow?" He sighed. "Admit it, you need help. Let me to that, please."
You replied after a moment of silence, "Fine. But don't think it makes up for what you did."
Javier nodded, smiling faintly. He led you to his horse, offering his hand to help you mount. Hesitantly, you took it. You pride didn't want to, but you were too exhaused.
Before climbing up himself, Javier reached for his sombrero and handed it to you. "Here."
It wasn't much, but it was better than leaving your face fully exposed, so you accepted it. You hoped wearing a man's hat didn't mean the same thing in Mexico as it did in the United States, but you tried to push that thought away regardless.
Then, you pulled the bandana from around your neck up over your face, completing the makeshift disguise. It was better than nothing, but what you really needed, were new clothes. Maybe something that wouldn't scream wanted criminal.
Some time later, a time that felt like enternity to you, Javier's horse came to a stop at a saloon. It looked as if it was about to collapse, but apparently the interior was full of life.
"Don't worry," Javier reassued you, dismounting, "most of them got a bounty on their heads. No one will care."
You reluctantly followed Javier inside. The saloon was dimly lit, and no one even seemed to care when you two walked inside. Despite the location being rather safe, Javier paid for a room, and that was where you ate your meal.
The meal wasn't fancy, but it tasted like heaven after weeks of surviving on whatever you could find. Either the saloon's cook was wasting his talent working in a place like this, or the fact that you hadn't had a proper meal in so long made it seem that way.
Javier leaned against the wall, arms crossed, watching you. "Good?" He asked.
You nodded, swallowing the last bite. "Yeah."
Javier watched you for a moment longer before looking away. For all the tension between you, there was something in his gaze that you recognized well. Inside the man he was now, was still the man you once loved.
He was different. Older, worn by life and everything that had happened the past few years, but so were you. Thinking about what to say next, you moved from the tiny table to the bed.
"Why are you doing this?" You asked, making Javier's eyes shift back to you.
"Because..." he hesitated, "I never stopped thinking about you, about what happened. I didn't even know if you were alive. I was a fool, querida. I thought loyalty was everything, that Dutch had all the answers. Turns out he didn't, and it cost me the only thing that ever really mattered."
You didn't know what to reply. Of course, years of anger wouldn't disappear after a bunch of nice words. But it definitely cracked the surface of your shell. Part of you wanted to push him away, to protect yourself. But another part wanted to believe him, the part that saw in him your former lover.
When you didn't answer, Javier continued talking, making a bold move by sitting down on the bed. Right next to you. What it made you feel was so familiar yet so distant, you had to shift in spot, attempting to make the distance between the two of you a bit bigger. It barely worked.
Javier leaned forward with his elbows on his knees, hands clasped. He wasn't looking at you when he spoke. "I know I don't deserve forgiveness," he couldn't look at you when he said this, "but I need you to know I never stopped loving you."
His words were an arrow that pierced right through your heart. As painful as it was, his feelings for you never faded. Even back when he made that choice to stand by Dutch. Especially then.
You took a breath to reply, but you couldn't come up with any words. So it just sounded as if you let out a sigh. That didn't make Javier feel any better.
He turned to look at you. "I'd take it all back if I could. I'd leave it all behind for you, right here, right now. Just say the word."
It was the way he said it that finally broke your shell completely. The way his voice was vulnerable. It proved to you that he wasn't trying to manipulate you.
Without thinking, you reached for his hand. He didn't know what to do, but he surely didn't want you to let go.
"You're an idiot." You said, but your voice was soft, without malice. "But so am I for what I still feel for you."
Judgning by how he's been acting, you thought he'll catch a hint this is the moment where he kisses you. It seemed as if he was too stunned to react immediately, so you took the matters in your own hands and leaned in.
It started hesitantly. He kissed you back, but the both of you were carefully walking along the thin thread of any trust that there was left. It took Javier a moment, but his hands eventually pulled you closer. He used to think he had lost you forever, so when he finally found you again... he didn't want to let go.
