10 and 25 for the pokemon ask! :3
10: Most recent pokemon team Great question! It’s kind of got a multi-part answer, haha! I like to make several teams to play through the game, that way I can try as many pokemon as possible in a playthrough. My last game was Pokemon Sun, and my team consisted of: Decidueye (because owl) Whimsicott (because I remember that thing giving me all kinds of trouble in BW2, and I wanted one on my team) Alolan Dugtrio (I had never used Dugtrio before in a main team, and I wanted to give it and its Fabio hair a shot. Turned out to be quite the MVP) Salazzle (a cool new Alola mon) Magnezone (Again, I hadn’t had one on my team before and wanted to try it out) and Toucannon (because big angry toucan) This was also my first playthrough of a pokemon game without using a water type on my team. No need for the Surf HM, and also the fishing mechanic was really irksome, so I gave up using a water type for the playthrough. It was a fun challenge, too! 25: My distinct Pokemon-related memory I’ve got two, both tied to my childhood and growing up with the franchise. The first is when Gen1 came out, my parents didn’t let me have a GameBoy, so I never got to play RBY until way later. BUT! That didn’t stop me from loving Pokemon. So instead, I got into the trading cards, and ended up drawing a lot of the card art and trading my art for cards (instead of buying decks b/c the parents would not have liked that either). I ended up amassing 3 decks worth of cards just from my artwork exchange! The second memory has to do with my first Pokemon game: Pokemon Crystal. The first game you could be a girl! And also the first time I got to play Pokemon with other people. I remember being on vacation with my two cousins and spending every moment that wasn’t at the beach inside the house battling and trading pokemon. The memory is so strong I’d convinced my adult self that Ampharos was an available pokemon in Crystal, when in fact it isn’t, it was just in my game for so long because of that vacation. I still even had my cousin’s trainer data in my Crystal version as a rematch-able trainer. The battery died on that Crystal cartridge two years ago. The data may be gone, but the memories aren’t.
