THEYRE PIRATES#like i wouldnt exactly recommend it 'if you liked ofmd' but if you liked ofmd and hannibal/iwtv. and you havent seen this.#i cant recommend it to people who just like ofmd the genre is too different. like yeah its a queer pirate show but its also a period drama.#i am so incoherent rn i love this show

Haven't seen Shadow & Bones but totally agree, they are some many stories the have so much potential but the put money in media which is not actually art and instead put money into shitty reality television. So, a majority of the show cancelled tend to be female and people of color lead, have explicitly queer characters. There is obviously, bigotry and greed. Also, for every season of a show the people who work on it are legally suppose to get a rise, the writers, actors, directors, costume designers, etc.
Some of my favorite have been I Am Not Okay With This, Julia & The Phantoms, First Kill, Paper Girls and A League Of Their Own, Rise Of The Pink Ladies, Diary Of A Future President, Babysitter's Club, Chilling Adventure Of Sabrina, iCarly which is just a few.
I bet if Stranger Things was made now and was about a group of young nerdy girls and the majority of the cast was female it would have been cancelled. I Am Not Okay With This was made by the same people behind Stranger Things, so they know who huge it could have been.
It feels like media in a way has actually become less diverse. We have more stories than ever but they never last enough to see the ending because of greed, misogyny, racism, homophobia, transphobia.
They do not think telling stories for and about girls and women is worth it.
They do not think telling stories for and about people of color are worth it.
They do not think telling stories for and about queer people are worth it.
"the show is expensive to produce" okay but have you considered saving money by producing less garbage and investing in making something good
