OKAY so on the topic of Star Wars takes wrt “character ends up in an A/B/O universe where they’re an omega, but they were previously a cis male in their canon”
@atagotiak and I had some Thoughts on discord
So, obviously, Anakin would make a good omega and he’s also incredibly murdery. Foregone conclusion that we're using him for this.
There is no preexisting Anakin in the Omegaverse. He shows up JUST as the war is starting. Canon timeline is in the third year of the war (he’s 22), but whatever dumped him into omegaverse also tossed him back a few years. No de-aging, just a bit of mismatched timeline stuff.
He's... really good at war, and clearly a Jedi, so the Temple just kind of goes "WELL OKAY THEN, SURE, YOU'RE IN, EVERYONE PRETEND HE'S BEEN HERE THE WHOLE TIME." The Jedi, by and large, don't care about omegaverse dynamics beyond 'what do you need, medically, to be happy and healthy' and 'what do you need to be aware of so you can be prepared for biases you encounter in the field?’
None of the civilian natborns (mainly politicians) want to put him on the field because of those biases. Anakin, being Anakin, is VERY blatantly an omega in scent, has never been on suppressants (because it wasn't a thing he fucking NEEDED), is incredibly emotional as a person, loves kids, etc.
Like, nobody wants an omega fighting a war anyway, but THIS one is like PINNACLE omega, and those awful Jedi are making him FIGHT just because he's good at stab!
The Jedi: Actually, it's because he's got several years of war experience that we don't, and he's a good tactician that works well with the clones-- Coruscant: You MONSTERS The Jedi: Look, we gave him the option to not stab and he looked absolutely devastated. Anakin, several days earlier: You don’t want me? I’m not good enough??? Jedi: Also he can beat up at least half the temple.
He doesn't know a damn thing about dynamics, but he DOES know that sometimes he's so horny he wants to stab HARDER. The clones are largely disinterested in their generals' dynamics because between mostly-Mando* trainers and no-dynamic Kaminoans, they only really care if a person can shoot.
* Mandalore approves of Fighty Omegas. As far as (traditional) Mandalore is concerned, you want an omega that will kill the threats to your children as well as you do.
Anakin: You know more about being an omega than I do. Rex: ...I'm an alpha. Anakin: Yeah. Let that one sink in a bit.
We have two options for Obi-Wan!
Omegaverse local Obi-Wan (beta) has never met this man before, and is very unnerved that the immediate default reaction Anakin has to his presence is releasing Family pheromones as if Obi-Wan is his DAD and like. This strange, too-tall man from another dimension has got absolutely NO control over what he projects in the Force OR in his dynamic.
Obi-Wan was ALSO transplanted from canon to omegaverse, and is also an omega, for contrast reasons. He is nice and friendly and and likes poetry and that sort of thing... but also he has the highest dismemberment count in the movies. Also he doesn’t prioritize romance.
We went with the second one because it's hilarious.
Someone watching them spar: Wow, omegas from that universe are terrifying.
As previously mentioned, now with some tweaking to account for both: Obi-Wan and Anakin just straight up don't exist until they drop headfirst into the council room, already covered in blood. (It's mostly not theirs.)
Nobody realizes either one is an omega until they "naturalize" to this dimension and Anakin goes into heat... and doesn't realize it, actually, because his primary symptom is heightened protectiveness and aggression. Everyone else with the right nose realizes, because the man has no control over his pheromone production, but Anakin? No. He just stabs. He’s angry and horny and he will cut someone.
Ahsoka has no reaction to human pheromones but basically everyone smells Anakin's "my child!" reaction to her, so... Cool. Have a padawan, we guess.
Anakin ends up sparring a lot with Aayla and Ahsoka, because only humans and near humans have dynamics, so these two don't REACT to the pheromones situation.
(Palpatine is a Kindly Old Beta who tries to treat Anakin the way he EXPECTS Anakin wants to be treated, which is. Not. Accurate.)
(Anakin hates it.)
I'm just so in love with "An omega can't fight." "You wanna fuckin' bet?"
There are plenty of omega Jedi, by the way, it's just... most of them can keep it relatively low-key instead of Anakin's jet-engine broadcast. Some, if they're known to be omega, probably take advantage of being underestimated, like Obi-Wan probably (and especially a version of Obi-Wan that was always an omega, unlike this version). They have a very different way of presenting themselves than Anakin, who's not subtle about being an omega and also not subtle about being all aggressive and stabby.
At one point, Anakin has to protect some Very Traditional Individuals who get all "Stay back, Omega, it's not safe!" and he's just... so tired of this shit. “You are squishy civilians and I'm a trained Jedi Knight and accomplished GAR General who's killed more people in one sitting than there are in this entire palace. Sit the fuck down and let me do my job.”
It starts making the rounds that Anakin insisted on fighting in person, and the rumors shift from "how dare the Jedi force an omega to fight" and over into things that are deeply hurtful in-universe in the vein of "broken omega" and some people try to say it to his face but like...
He didn't grow up here.
He doesn't care.
Say that to one of his friends and he's going to rip out your spleen, probably, but say it to him and he's just staring at you flatly and asking if that's a negative on getting away from the encroaching battle droids, sir?
"You're rather unpleasant for an omega, aren't you?" [deeply offensive] "I literally could not give less of a fuck about your opinion. Move."
It's not that there aren't omegas that act like Anakin, either, it's just that most of them aren't, you know, Jedi who regularly interact with the upper crust, or capable of his level of destruction. Unbeknownst to Anakin, everyone clocks him as Outer Rim based on his behavior, well before his accent gives him away, and certainly before he mentions he's from Tatooine, because Core Omegas Don't Act Like That.
Someone they meet in a more diplomatic setting says something decently passive-aggressive about how at least Obi-Wan acts more like how an Omega should. Then a battle breaks out for some reason, and... well. Anakin and Obi-Wan cause such a scandal by keeping score of kills in a battle, don’t you know?
Turns out sending Anakin to fight Ventress is great because she keeps expecting him to react a certain way but NO he's here to STAB.
I like the idea that Obi-Wan's favorite opponent these days is Grievous because the cyborg doesn't have a nose, and thus gives zero fucks about dynamics or heats. Dooku is a rich old man who has opinions heavily influenced by Sith Juice Making Him More of a Dick, and the Dathomiri can smell dynamics even if they don't have them, and so they have biases about those things. Meanwhile, Grievous is just there to Kill, and Obi-Wan genuinely appreciates the lack of commentary on his dynamic.
Dooku’s probably an alpha, or a beta who's used the whole "we are more level-headed" thing as one of several angles to keep himself the public face and supreme commander of the CIS.
On to more fluffy things that have less to do with political biases.
There's a lot of "I'm upset that my loved ones don't know me," but also please understand the appeal of Obi-Wan marching up to Quinlan like "Yes, hello, I understand you've been read in on the full situation behind myself and my former padawan. I was close friends with your alternate universe self, which I feel is necessary disclosure before I propose the following: Would you like to join me for my upcoming heat, as I have minimal experience with the dynamics situation and even fewer people I actually trust, and I believe I can put my faith in you to treat it as casually as necessary while still having control and respect for my person."
(The Team is in a fairly safe place to process stuff, but having sudden unexpected changes to your biology has gotta be a little traumatizing, on top of ending up in a universe where none of your friends know you and people have a whole host of unfamiliar forms of sexism to point at you.)
Obi-Wan, who wasn't quite touch-averse but was much more easily overwhelmed by physical contact than Anakin (who craved it), suddenly finds his body switching gears and insisting on cuddles with Trusted Loved Ones, which is.... mostly Anakin, on account of nobody else really knowing him yet. Also Ahsoka, who is aware that she's something of a replacement for her alt-universe self, but Anakin explained it as "I love you so much no matter which dimension I'm in or what you're like, and I'd like to get to know you the way I got know her."
(It's rather eloquent for Anakin. He got Obi-Wan to help him draft up the script for when he pitched taking on omegaverse Ahsoka as a padawan.)
Anakin gets a more intensely sexual heat than 'usual' at one point for Reasons (IDK it could be as innocuous as 'we got better food than the usual rations and my body is reacting to the higher fat content with the belief that it's safer to have a baby now'), which nobody takes a whole lot of notice of because they're in a WAR, and also this is only his fourth one so it's not like he's got a lot to compare it to... except then the predominantly alpha clones can't stop themselves from reacting to the pheromones, mostly by wandering past his door and asking if he needs anything, offering up alpha-scented blankets and stuff for the nest to soothe the hormones, bringing snacks and electrolyte drinks, and like, Anakin is flattered, really, but fuck off please.
(He got a warning from medical a few hours before it hit that it would be different, so he actually does have alpha-scented fabrics to help him out. Apparently that's a thing you can just ask friends for, so he asked Rex if he had anything on hand that he could spare. He now has one of Rex’s recently-used sheets and a bodyglove in the nest.)
(Anakin has no idea how to feel about the nesting instinct, but at least it’s warm.)
Tia asked "Oh hey, who has the scared and horny reaction to his carnage?" and like.
Listen. I'm not saying I've been low-key imagining this as Rex being a very subby alpha who's really into Anakin's whole Thing but...
At one point Anakin gets injured in a way that requires painkillers and he ends up whining to the point of almost crying about the fact that nobody is cuddling him right now in medbay and Kix just gives up and comms Ahsoka to come hug her weird older brother.
And Then There Is Purring.
That’s a Thing Now.
Rex ends up in the pile somehow. He came over to check on Things and ended up yanked in by half-asleep, half-high Anakin, who has a grip like an octopus and no impulse control and is purring like a pod motor while NUZZLING HIM.
There’s a lot of blackmail photos featuring Rex’s very intense blush as he’s cuddled by his commander (giggling at him) and general (clinging like a tooka and rubbing himself all over).
Anakin is deeply offended that ANYONE thinks he'd want to get pregnant by just any old person, NO he needs to fall in LOVE there needs to be EMOTIONAL DRAMA and if Padme won't have him (apparently she's in a relationship and no he's not BITTER) then he'll find someone else to have a whirlwind romance with!
People think Anakin's a slut because he can't control his pheromone production (he has NO practice and for health reasons he can't go on suppressants) so he always smells open and ready for flirtations, which Obi-Wan also has to a somewhat lesser degree (he's older so his body just naturally produces less), and then someone tries to cross a boundary and grabs his ass and ANYWAY Anakin has to now fill out an incident report for breaking a civilian's arm.
Again.

callout for @genderfluidlucifer
google docs
tw for transmisogyny + TERFs + emotional manipulation
Transmisogyny
Lucifer is a huge transmisogynist who will complain 24/7 about how TERFs hurt the ace community, but the moment @randomclustermissile , a trans girl (who is not an exclusionist at all) tries to point out transmisogyny in inclusionist circles (in the most vague and general way possible, without pointing fingers nor calling anyone names) Lucifer will immediatly jump to block her and so they did with me (another inclusionist) and i have to suppose to everyone else who agreed with that post, even arriving to vagueing about us in private group chats to suggest that we were “sympathizing with exclusionists”. all because we dared point out transmisogyny in inclusionist circles. lucifer is TME but apparently they think they’re the authority on TERFs and their talking points but actual trans women are not, according to them, since this is the stuff that they would go and spew to other people. (screenshots from @enbyoctoling)
here’s more examples of Lucifer (again, a transmasc person) going deep in detail about how according to them, TERFs/SWERFs hate aro/ace people and are an active threat to us
1. link
[Image ID: Three screenshots of a post by Genderfluidlucifer. The first screenshot is of a paragraph that reads, "Hey. So I can actually answer this. Anon your commentary about how you thought terfs would approve of sex repulsed aces is sort of it. Except...not. Basically terfs hate ace people for not wanting sex in the approved by terfs way. Terfs are actually extremely interested in [forcing] amatonormativity onto everyone. Because for as sex negative as terfs are...they don't want to actually acknowledge or change the fact that amatonormativity is at the root cause of rape culture and misogyny."
The second screenshot is a zoomed in section of the post that reads, "So yeah no I have NO idea where exclus allies are getting this idea from that terfs would even remotely care about the sexual rights of ace people. Terfs generally hate any sexualities in the LGBTQ+ acronym that aren't LGB because they can't force a gender binary onto those sexualities. At least, not as easily. That's why it's actually a massive sign of someone who doesn't call themselves a terf being a crypto terf if they use the term LGB in a positive manner. Along with the term SGA, as it is deliberately exclusive of nonbinary and not inherently SGA centric queer-aligned sexualities. /END ID]
link to the full post, these are just excerpts but the whole thing is just a very long rant about how TERFs hate ace people and so on (i think it’s worth noticing that although the actual post is kinda long, trans women are never once brought op in a conversation about TERFs issues and the only time transmisogyny is mentioned is not relevant to the conversation)
2. link
[Image ID: A screenshot of a reblog by genderfluidlucifer. The original poster is nothorses. It reads, "Because apparently I have to say it: Testosterone is not a 'violent' hormone. It doesn't make you 'more aggressive' or a worse person, it doesn't make you 'dangerous,' or 'toxic.' Transmascs do not need to be 'warned of the dangers of T.' We do not need to spend our transitions terrified that we're going to become a danger to those around us - that HRT is going to turn us into a monster.
Everyone experiences mood swings during hormonal shifts (pregnancy, menstruation, menopause, estrogen HRT, etc.) and while you might have grumpy moments or feel anger/frustration that you need to learn to handle differently, that doesn't make you a bad person.
Testosterone can change the way you access/process emotions somewhat, but if you're already thoughtful about how you handle your feelings and treat others, you're going to be fine. It's normal to lash out on occasion, by accident, then apologize and work to do better. It doesn't make you a bad person. Everyone on HRT is prone to this, and everyone experiencing hormonal changes is prone to this.
Getting HRT should be positive and affirming; you should not have to spend your entire transition terrified of becoming a monster."
The post then has a reblog by captainlordauditor that reads, "The big danger of T is that needle ouchy." /END ID]
here’s them reblogging from known transmisogynist user @nothorses (once again, the irony that a post about how testosterone is seen as the "aggressive hormone" does not mention transfem at all which are literally the main victims of this rethoric in the first place)
3. link (1), link (2)
[Image ID: Two screenshots of posts by genderfluidlucifer. The first screenshot reads, "Queer exclus: We're not repackaging terf rhetoric! Saying that is transmisogynistic! Also queer exclus: Remove the plus from LGBT!" and has tags that say, "I will pay these people to grow some god damn self awareness. Imagine being this dense. Queer discourse." The post has 15 notes.
The second screenshot reads, "Honestly it is so stupid and frustrating to see ace exclus continue to deny that the ace discourse was started by terfs. Proof was given countless times. And a big name terf like galesofnovember even admitted to starting it. Those of you who demand proof but ignore all of this never wanted proof to begin with." and is tagged with, "ace discourse. The post has 38 notes. /END ID]
heres another two post of theirs conflating TERFs with ace exclusionism
4. link
[Image ID: A screenshot of a reblogged post by furbearingbrick. The original poster is boxlizard, Lucifer's old account. The original post reads, "By the way for people still in denial about it, here's galesofnovember, a terf, admitting that she intended to start the ace exclus movement. She's taking credit for it. Normally if the victims of this behavior weren't ace/aro or other queer identities y'all be ready to rightfully lynch her. But since it's us, y'all just still wanna stamp your feet and go, 'Nuh uh!' instead of acknowledging facts." The part that says, "admitting that she intended to start the ace exclus movement" is a link to a galesofnovember post.
There is then a reblogged addition from furbearing brick that reads, "archived versions of the receipts" and has two links to the webarchive. The tags read, "Bringing this back since it's apparently still relevant. Terfism mention. Aphobia mention. Queerphobia mention. Blocklist." and has 1,455 notes. /END ID]
this is their post that ive already talked about but basically they found a 52 notes post made by a TERF in 2012 and this one person said "i dont know why i dont get to be the princess of the anti-ace-brigade" and apparently they are convinced that this means TERFs started the ace exclusionism movement and that this is one of their goals. which is insane when TERFs in real life only care about making life miserable for transfem people first and foremost.
5.link
[Image ID: A screenshot of a reblog by genderfluidlucifer. The original poster is yu-gay-fudo. It reads, “Just in case you happen to be unaware, some of the “radfem lite” they post to warm you up to their rhetoric, just off the top of my head:
- Ace/aro exclusionism
- Bi exclusionism or claims that bi people are “less queer” bc of “straight passive privilege”
- Saying you have to be dysphoric to identify as transInvalidating nonbinary people
- Calling queer a slur regardless of context, saying people can’t identify as queer, and saying that it can’t be reclaimed
- “Mogai hell”, “kweer”, or otherwise mocking less common labels and claiming they are “just cishets who want to feel special”
- Excluding sex workers from feminist discussions or claiming that sex work is inherently evil
- Basically anyone who thinks they can determine what other people identify as”. The tags read, "queerphobia tw. twerfs tw. no id." and has 70,727 notes. It was reblogged on March 22nd, 2021 /END ID]
another example of conflating radfems to things that, while wrong, have little to nothing to do with them because being a radfem, again, is something very specific that has all to do with transfem oppression.
Emotional manipulation
Lucifer has done nothing but block, break boundaries, spread lies and vague about people, some of which were even mutuals with them knowing they would see the posts. when confronted about it Lucifer's only answer was "just say you hate me and block me" but they actually ended up blocking everyone first, making it impossible for anyone to set some boundaries with them or even just to calmly confront them about anything.
[proof: Io(popncourse) and Lucifer had a disagreement in a shared discord server, which prompted Lucifer to vague Io in a vent post. Io confronted them, as being vagued is one of buns triggers, to which Lucifer initially agreed to delete the vent post, but then proceeded to victimize themself and immediatly blocked Io. later on, Jude(malewifedeckard) was confronted by Lucifer, then after Jude told them “I’m worried that you’ll vague me just like you did with Io” they proceeded to block Jude and vagued about him too. when Io made a post (which was not a callout, it was just bun setting buns boundaries) explaining what Lucifer did, Lucifer immediatly jumped to victimize themself, acting like they were being called out and straight-up lying, even going so far as to say that no one tried to hear them out, which is a blatant lie if you consider the aforementioned Io and Jude’s attempts at doing so, with Lucifer immediatly blocking and cutting ties with the both of them. ]
(screenshots taken by @popncourse and @malewifedeckard)
as seen in the proof above Lucifer’s behaviour is not ok because they don’t accept any kind of confrontation and immediatly jump to blocking, and after blocking, they'd immediatly go and vague about the people who confronted them pacificly, spreading more lies and painting themself as the victim and even arriving to say “no one hears me out at all” which is simply not something you can say when you block people who are trying to hear you out in the first place.
this is by no means an invitation to go and harass them, send them hate or anything like that. i absolutely don’t want anything even remotely hateful or negative to be sent their way after this post.
this post was only made because:
1. as an ace person who fully supports the inclusion of aspec identities in the lgbt+ community i don’t want to support an enviroment that costantly downplays transmisogynistic oppression in order to be taken seriously. there are hundreds of ways to make aspec activism without acting like we(as in TME aspecs)are the victims of a system that seeks for the annihilation of transfemenine people in real life everyday. i especially don’t want to support TME individuals who act transfem-friendly but then block any transfem who tries to speak on transmisogyny without a second thought.
2. Lucifer’s behaviour has hurt two friends of mine and i don’t want to associate with someone who actively breaks people’s boundaries without taking accountability when messing up.
3. i cannot associate with someone who spreads lies about me accusing me of sympathizing with exclusionists all while having me blocked so that i can’t see it nor defend me. they complain about people not hearing them out but they’re the very first person who does not try to hear people out, and instead jumps to spread baseless rumors. this is not someone i can nor want to associate with.

fic written in 2018 meme
total number of posted stories in 2018: 18 total word count: 56.380 fandoms written in: final fantasy xv, mahoutsukai no yome, guardian, star wars (OT), shirogane no ou, star stealing prince, vatican miracle examiner. fandoms I wouldn't have expected to write this year: star stealing prince, on account on never playing the game before. looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? haaaaaaaaaaaaa. ha. this year was insane. i wrote more than i ever wrote in an hour before, by a lot; i was, for my, like a damn fic writing machine. i hope it wasn't a one-year fluke, but either way - here we are. what's your own favorite story of the year? a working relationship, an ignis and gladio adventure with kidnapping, torture, and competence porn. i wrote it just because, for a kinkmeme prompt but for no challenge or deadline, and actually got to the end of it, and it had action and adventure and dialogue and whump, and it was just - fun. (and long.) my best story of this year: this is hard to judge, but i think give your heart and soul to charity - another one i wrote on a whim, without a requester or challenge pressure, a bittersweet fairytale-ish ever after about permanent deaging and grief and new beginnings. i took my time with it and let it expand organically, and i think it got more or less exactly where i wanted it to go. (this said, next time i decide to write a story hinging on a four-way high stakes conversation where one of the participants is blind? shoot me.) (this said, apparently 'high stakes conversations where one of the participants is blind' is apparently my go-to trope this year. no i don't know either.) my most popular story of this year: most popular by ao3 hit count: you couldn't have it any other way, a chocolate box ffxv story i wrote for lagerstatte that kicked off the entire ffxv obsession thing, and also the whole 'conversations while blind (and also dying)' shtick. most popular by ao3 kudos: ditto! i think i landed in a very nice point of challenge zeitgeist. most popular by ao3 comments: a working relationship, followed up by down comes the night, my guardian casefic for yuletide, and for the hint of a spark, a luke&leia post-endor story written for fandom5k. story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: it's not precisely underappreciated! my recip loved it, and i've gotten some lovely comments - but can't take the kid from the fight, a mahoutsukai no yome orphanfic/sickfic was hella fun to write, and i wish more people saw it. most fun story to write: want every tomorrow, a ravus/ignis story i wrote as a birthday gift for court_of_ocelot. it's a pretty dark story, in itself - about grief, and living after your sole guiding light is lost, and finding each other in the dark - but it was a joy to write, and the process itself was smooth and easy. sexiest story/story with the single sexiest moment: i still stick to gen/fade-to-black, so let's go with luna and ignis discussing ignis being noct's dowry in, well, dowry. hardest story to write: for the hint of a spark - it was a fandom5k assignment, and it fell square in the middle of complete IRL shitfest - moving! group! logistics! - and i ended up writing it frantically over the course of two days, very, very close under the line. i'm pleased with how it came out (and i am endlessly grateful to morbane for whipping it into shape on a really tight schedule), but writing it was a stamina exercise. and also, in a different way, you couldn't have it any other way, because it was the story that broke the most horrendous writer's break for me. i've had to literally force myself into writing it - there's a page, in the beginning of that fic's document, where i'm frantically trying to talk myself past the really horrible bout of anxiety - and i'm so, so glad it did. apparently it was a beginning of a beautiful friendship :D darkest story to write: passage, hands down. ffxv is a pretty tragic game, in itself, and apparently a part of my brain became immediately devoted to making it even darker. so, well. catatonia! grief! caretaker fatigue! mercy-killing! i maintain it's more hopeful than not, but... yeah. favorite title: give your heart and soul to charity, both for how it suits the fic and for the sly hint at the contents hidden in the song it's cribbed from. favorite opening line: The king must die. favorite closing line: When he pulls the trigger, the hum of the cicadas falls silent, just for a moment. Then it begins again. did you take any writing risks this year? a l l o f t h e m. longfics! casefics! cdrama fandom! anime fandoms! writing for a kinkmeme! writing just because! it was a very stretchy year, in this sense. do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year? i live in fear of my newfound ability to write without, like, dying, being a fluke. it's not so far - i'm writing right now, and it's hard and complicated and i'm panicking and being really close to the deadline, but i'm writing. so - i want to keep doing that, and to have some space to figure out what is my 'style' and what are my unfortunate and repetitive writing tics, and to write more long fics, and to just write anything that comes into my damn mind. it's going to be interesting... stories I haven't yet written, but intend to: - i swear to god i will finish this whipping/crucifixion story if it kills me. - there's another ignis kidnapping fic that i have a third of, and i want to get it done. - ignis/noct/luna canon divergence fixit au of doom? MAYBE. - and whatever else strikes my fancy! i'm going to keep track of kinkmeme and just, like. indulge. HOPEFULLY. i'd like to thank the academy ... court_of_ocelot for being the most reliant, kind, supportive, thoughtful, loving and excited alfa/beta reader ever (that one time i had to write a story for her without showing her was the worst); ignis whump discord for being the best damn supportive audience for ridiculously self-indulgent whump there can be; naye, gnine and xparrot for enabling me all through my ridiculous guardian yuletide adventures; and morbane for being an incredibly thorough, merciless and nurturing beta who never failed at making me think and try to do better. and overall - i've had really great response to my fics all through the years, with a lot of lovely and supportive comments, and honestly? i write fic as a sort of - conversation, storytelling, talking around the fire - and people who read the stuff you write, sometimes because they like it, and sometimes because they like you, and sometimes just because - they keep me going; no drawerfics for me! so that was fun.

I wanted to share some personal stories. These are obviously like the worst things that have happened and aren’t meant to scare but rather things to keep in mind when interacting. Hopefully these give you some insight in some things to avoid. Please avoid my mistakes shshshsh
First, I was in a discord server and i was on a vc call in the server with people I was quickly becoming friends with and we were playing games and stuff it was a good time. One of the guys in the server started messaging me, and he started asking me a lot of questions and he asked me for a selfie and I wasn’t comfortable with sharing selfies with anyone in that server yet, so I said no, and he kept asking me for a selfie that night and i kept saying no and that I didn’t want to send him a selfie and if I didn’t want to, I didn’t have to. Eventually he said fine but that it made him sad and he hopes that if i change my mind i’ll send one to him right away. A few days later he left the server, but I later found out that he was actually banned. He had harassed several girls, he had put a bug (actually i think it was a rat, I don’t remember what my friends said) on one of the girl’s computers and figured out her address, and he had admitted to watching child porn, and obviously I wasn’t super involved in this, but it is scary and there are people like that all over.
I had another group of friends and in this group of friends we had a guy who liked another guy and they were good friends but the feelings weren’t reciprocated. And guy 1 got really attached to guy 2 so much it was obsessive and he would regularly try and guilt trip him and harass him when he wouldn’t answer messages right away and this ended up ending in a messy falling out, and i don’t want to go into a ton of detail but guy 1 was super emotionally abusive and manipulative towards guy 2. Guy 1 ended up getting banned from our server (we had a small server of friends) and at first nothing really happened, he was told why he was banned and then it felt like it was all over with until a few months later a bunch of anons kept being sent to a bunch of people’s inboxes harassing two of the girls in our friend group. I also got anons from this person. Eventually we figured out a way to track anons and we waited and we were able to get the ip of the person sending anons. The we sent a link (it was an ip tracking link) to guy 1, and the IPs matched. I still got anons from him up until a couple months ago harassing me. This isn’t the worst of it however. A few months after confronting him about the anons, guy 2s family all gets added by this weird facebook account which then proceeds to our guy 2 as gay. This isn’t 100% confirmed to be guy 1, however it is very unlikely it isn’t as the account sent screenshots from private discord conversations he in the server, and private conversations between guy 1 and guy 2.
Next, is my two catfish experiences, these will be briefer. One happened in June or August of 2018. The same group of friends as before and i had befriended this new kid and his boyfriend. There was a lot of drama with that but at one point people had privately said that they weren’t comfortable with him then someone gave him access to where that happened at and he essentially sent everyone suicide notes and everyone spent all night trying to talk him down and make sure he was okay. Everything ended up being resolved that night and he was safe but after hours upon hours of worrying and trying to talk to him. But then the next day, someone had went on this persons supposed facebook account and put the pieces together that he was not who he said he was and in fact him and his boyfriend were the same person using two accounts, and we eventually confronted him and he ghosted a long time until he came back in April and apologized to everyone. Then the next guy (also in the same friend group), I only found this out because I had went and apologized to a friend from that group after having a falling out with them. Basically had suspected this guy was a catfish for a long time but everyone was too nervous to ever mention it and he was our friend. But apparently some drama happened and then they all got talking about it and pulled up the few pictures we had of him and they noticed that while eerily similar, there was different guys in every picture and when confronted the guy deleted all of his social media that we were aware of. He had also done some weird stuff like looking up peoples friends and family when not asked to. Now neither of these turned out especially dangerous as far as I know, but those are two people who we had given information to that like no one in the friend group actually knows. Like there’s just some random dudes out there with our private information and we have no way of knowing who they are, especially the second one.
This last thing, I was talking to a friend online and I wasn’t thinking and I mentioned the population of my town. I live in like a very small town. Within fifteen minutes he was able to figure out what town i lived in down to two different towns in my state. Luckily he seems to be trustworthy and actually apologized for looking it up because he didn’t think about how invasive it was, but like it’s just a reminder to be careful what you share and stuff.
Like I said in the beginning these aren’t meant to scare, but are rather to be things to keep in mind. I have a lot of lovely internet friends but i’ve also had a lot of bad experiences. All of these have just been in the past like year to 14 months.
I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff laterally and it just reminds me, to my followers who are minors please be vigilant with protecting your privacy. This isn’t meant to be patronizing, everyone needs to protect their privacy minor or not, but there are people who specifically target minors.
Don’t click on random links from people you barely know. Don’t give out a bunch of personal information. Be wary and picky of who you share photos of yourself with. Be picky with what personal information you give out and to who you give it out to. Trust your instincts and air on the side of caution (if people make give you bad feelings or vibes don’t interact with them). If people don’t respect your right to say no, drop them.
The internet can be a really lovely place where you form really lovely friendships and develop great memories, but you have to remember people on here are strangers and you have a rights to protect your privacy, and not only is actively giving out info to everyone you meet is not only not required of you, but can be dangerous. And I don’t mean to be some the internet is a scary place old person but it is a tool and there are a lot of good people here but there are also a lot of bad people here and you should keep that in mind.
I’ll also be reblogging this with some personal stories as to why I also bring this up. But internet safety is mad important and it’s important to take it seriously in order to protect yourself.

Facebook : http://ift.tt/2qmRFI2 Twitter : https://twitter.com/Nop_2022 Discord du Rameau : discord.lerameaulibre.org Script anglais : If one big government is bad, imagine how much worse two big governments would be. But that’s what people living in Europe have had to deal with: their own nation’s bloated government and the super-national government of Europe, now known as the European Union. Bureaucracy times two! How’s that for a horror show? Well, actually, you’ve no idea. It’s worse than you think. Believe me—I know, because for seventeen years, I’ve represented South East England as a member of the European Parliament, the EU’s legislative body. I was also leader of the UK Independence Party, or UKIP, where I lead Britain’s efforts to leave the European Union. To their everlasting credit, that’s just what happened on June the 23rd, 2016: The United Kingdom left the European Union. The world knows it as “Brexit.” Brexit is a statement of national sovereignty. Don’t misunderstand me: I like nations. I like borders. I like the people that live within those borders making their own laws. But I don’t like it when faceless bureaucrats make laws for nations they don’t even live in. But that’s what they do in the European Union. Imagine a Belgian telling a Brit how much he can charge his customers—or the reverse. The EU bureaucrats do this in a myriad of different ways, all day, every day. It is a conspiracy of the elites. Who are those elites? Well, they’re a bunch of self-important, overpaid, social engineers with useless college degrees who have never done a proper day’s work in their lives and have no connection with ordinary, decent people. I’ll take the good sense of an Italian farmer or a French baker over the arid intellectualism of an EU bureaucrat any day. And I say these things not as an anti-European; I love Europe! It’s a fantastic, exciting, great continent: different peoples, languages, and cultures. But these peoples, with their languages and cultures, have effectively been hijacked by a giant, ever-expanding bureaucracy: the European Union. People will say, “but isn’t there a parliament, a European parliament, that represents the people of Europe?” Well, yes, but this body has got no real power; it can’t make its own laws. Rather, the power resides with the European Commission. They’re unelected and they can’t be removed, and that’s how absurd the whole thing is. The European Parliament meets in Brussels. At least, that’s what I thought when I was elected there. But once a month, do you know what happens? They load the contents of our offices and papers into big, plastic trunks, and they put those trunks on lorries, and they drive them nearly 400 miles down Europe’s motorways to a French city called Strasbourg where, for four days, the contents of our offices, and our papers, are put into a new office, and the parliament then sits there. Twelve times a year this back-and-forth happens, and this from an organization who say they want to reduce their level of carbon footprint! This, from an organization whose accounts have not been given a clean bill of health by the auditors for the last twenty years! This…a parliament? It’s more like a traveling circus.
