Hello! I absolutely love your bofurin posts so much they give me so much joy!! I was wondering if you could write bofurin boys reacting to their partners getting hurt (either by accident ir gettign caught up in a fight) tyyy!!
When you get hurt (BOFURIN + JO TOGAME)
I’m so sorry if you wanted either Mitsuki or Taiga in this, I didn’t add them to this but if you want me to include them please lmk in the requests!
-Haruka Sakura, Hajime Umemiya, Toma Hiragi, Hayato Suo, Jo Togame
Haruka Sakura
When you come to him all scratched up when he's simply relaxing, it was the least thing he expected from you.
He notices right away based on the scrapes all over your body. Not deep enough to leave a scar but prominent enough for anyone to notice the significant bruises. He almost just stares at you in disbelief for a few seconds with wide eyes before raising his voice a little louder than he meant to.
"What the hell happened to you?!"
He's panicked when dragging you towards him and tries to interview you on what happened. He's a bit confused on what to do next, he's only ever been used to him getting hurt and not anyone around him. After asking you what happened he sort of shims away to get some bandages and a wet cloth to wipe your wounds.
He's calmed down by then when he returns back to you and continues on to help clean your wounds. He did that out of habit due to the fact he's grown up healing his own wounds when you questioned what he was doing.
"Why're you holding, bandages...?"
"...Because I'm gonna clean your wounds, dumbass."
"So rude..."
Hajime Umemiya
He is set off. If it was just an accident, then he doesn't make it a big deal. However, if it was intentional, he's beyond annoyed.
In the past, he's learned how to keep his cool whenever he was disrespected. Even during that instance when Tomiyama had beaten down students from Bofurin, he still managed to stay calm. However, only then things will change when he learns that someone close to him was inflicted with pain such as; Kotoha and you.
It's one of the few times where he lets his morals go. He's aware he's capable of beating the person that hurt you into a bloody pulp but even so, he knows how to restrict himself. It ticks him off to see you hurt so once the conflict is done, he's quiet.
He's still fairly pissed and drags you to come with him back to his house or somewhere secluded where he could heal your wounds himself. He doesn't care if he is also hurt or even a much more worse condition than you are.
Fight him all you want, argue even. The whole entire time, he'll stay silent in an angry mood, mad at himself that he let you get hurt. Once he's done healing you, he won't even allow you to heal him back, he cares more about your well being than his in those moments.
Toma Hiragi
Seeing you beat down and crying, this is one of the very few times he lets himself go vulnerable.
He hates it whenever he sees you depressed. So if he witnesses you getting hurt, it feels like a whole chunk of his body is cut off. Immediately, he tries to quicken up the conflict so it would be over and then check up on you right away. In the moment, he's pissed at you—telling you to back off and rest somewhere for the time being. He'll yell out to you louder than ever before with pure anger in his eyes that could make your blood run cold in just a single second.
Once the conflict is done, he goes back to you as if he's angry at you for getting hurt. He refrains himself from speaking, otherwise if he did he knows he would snap at anything you said—so instead, he quietly patches you up and practically ignores you at whatever you're saying.
He's worried and never wants to see that happen to you again.
Hayato Suo
It's shocking, the moment he sees anyone lay his hands on you, that's when his usual atmosphere changes into something very few people witness from him.
Generally, he comes as a sympathetic, chaotic person. It's something he's built in his charisma for years and enjoys it even (the small teasing and outrageous opinions). So he's kept that level of himself to be the same in almost every single scenario, but once he sees the state you're in, it's different.
He has a hard time taking in what happened, not that he can't process it, but as to why it happened. Once you explain everything to him, he won't say anything to trigger you anymore before gentle healing your wounds. He doesn't want to stress you out and have to make you recall of the horrid situation you got into earlier.
Afterwards, he'll disappear for a day, no calls, texts, or any sights of where he was.
The next day he comes back you as if nothing happened but once you question about is whereabouts, he tells you,
"Sorry [Name], I was busy having a conference with those people from yesterday." He says smiling warmly before changing the bandage on your face. You had a feeling he did not in fact have a conference with those people.
Jo Togame
He's usually outside a lot, shockingly it's very rare for him to even respond to any of your texts so no he doesn't see your message when you're pleading out to him that you got hurt by someone else.
It takes him a while to even know of your circumstances until he comes pick you up from school and realizes you're taking a bit long while he waits outside for you near the gate. He grows impatient and for the first time and finally checks his phone to see if you said anything. From there, his eyes widen.
In a flash, he asks around if anyone has seen you and a person finally answers him after asking nearly 10 people.
"Ah, [Last Name]? I saw her walk to the water fountains behind the school."
In a quicker pace than he usually sets himself in, he walks to where the person told him your last whereabouts, and then, he sees you.
Using the water to clean up the bloodied stains on your shirt.
You don't hear his hurried footsteps that come towards you, in your head you honestly thought it was a friend or a teacher that saw the state you were in. You didn't turn around and continued your cleaning, too angry and full of resent.
What you weren't expecting was the person to place both hands on your shoulders and turn you to face forward.
"Why the hell are you all beaten up?" He says staring deep into your eyes. It's the first time you've ever seen him this jolted rather than his laidback behaviour. He's frantic, worried, and more importantly, angry.
It takes you a while to get used to his outward personality, you even stutter when telling him what happened as you both settled down in front of a connivence store while you held a cold drink of Ramune on your cheek. He doesn't say much or react but there is a slightest hint of wrath in the way he licks his canine tooth.
He then gets up without saying a word before placing his hand on the top of your head and ruffling it up with a remorseful smile.
"You stay here, I'm gonna go get Chouji, alright?"
You nod already knowing what the duo is going to do.

𝐊𝐈𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐍𝐄𝐓 how they'd react to your interaction with younger kids [wind breaker boys]
qeena's brief note: idk how i feel about this but you guys can probably tell how out of ideas i am because some words just get repeated many times (˵ˊᯅˋ˵) though i think i did excel in certains part huweee ₍ᐢ⸝⸝› ‹⸝⸝ᐢ₎ cus i lowk love how i write for hiragi and togame! ik its short, and some scenarios just seriously bad written but still, let me know what you guys think okie ૮˃̵֊ ˂̵ ა tell me if you guys love, hate it, or so-so. your comments (no criticism pls T T) will really, really help me improve my writing skills! request is very much needed at this critical time. thank you sm sayangsss and happy reading xoxo 🌺.
桜 遥 🌺
Given Sakura Haruka somewhat rough exterior, he might initially try to act indifferently if he saw you with kids. However, behind that oh-so fake facade, he is quite reserved and attentive towards your behavior. When he see you interacting effortlessly and affectionately with younger kids, it might makes him all a blushing mess. He, though he won't admit it, loves to see you with them, especially that one time where a kid accidentally drop her candy to the ground and you didn't hesitate to scoop her up and soothe her.
"..., ...Ru, Haru!" You yelled, awaken him from his train of thoughts. Sakura notice beside you there's a boy, a boy that oddly looks like him except for a different hair color. The boy's hair is ash black but his eyes, it's eerily reminds him of himself. They're gold, almost orange "I do not look like him, I'm much handsome!" The boy protested, causing both you and Sakura to look at him, bewildered. The small boy look at Sakura in disgust, and hide behind you.
"Why did you say, brat?" The boy cling to you, scared because Sakura was reaching for the back of his shirt. And it's safe to say, they're running and chasing each other around for the rest of the afternoon.
蘇枋 隼飛 🌺
If Hayato Suo saw you with younger kids, he would react positively and be genuinely amused. He find it endearing and heartwarming to see you being caring and nurturing with children, but still, knowing his teasing and slight playful demeanour, he would probably still remark with a hint of humor, calling you "mother" to tease you.
"Now, oka-san, what are you going to play today?" You glare at him, slapping his arms playfully making him laugh. You turn to the bunch of kids in front of you as they frantically suggest what to play for the day. When everybody decides on police and thief, they all ganged up on you to become the sole police catching a bunch of mousey thieves. Suo sat by tree, watching you play with the children, running and pick them up when you catches them.
Overall, he would find the situation charming and cute.
楡井秋彦 🌺
Nirei Akihiko is as good as you are when it comes to younger kids. At first, he might find it slightly unexpected but would quickly find it heartwarming to see you being affectionate with them. The both of you would often visit the park to watch the neighbourhood kids playing at the playground and naturally find youselves included in their plays. You wouldn't count how many times Nirei fall flat on his face during the plays because it's a lot but nevertheless, the kids find it funny, not pathetic, not at all, just purely funny.
One time, all the kids hide from this one particular kid, both you and Nirei are hiding inside the slide thinking, perhaps it's the best hiding spot there is but boy, how wrong you are. The mini seeker aka the chubbiest boy in town search for anyone on top of the slide and being a lazy boy he is, he decided to use the slide instead of the stairs to get down and boom...! Both you and Nirei on the ground and the boy on top of you.
桐生 三輝 🌺
When Mitsuki Kiryu saw you interacting with younger kids, he would react in a calm and warm manner. Knowing his gentle nature, it's likely would make him admire your ability to treat children with kindness but please, don't ever expect me not bite back when certains mini snobs goes around and mocking you, he would say something, anything, true but hurtful that will make them cower and run with snots hanging from their nose.
And everyone knows he might address his admiration subtly by smiling warmly or making a brief comment on how well you interact with kids. He just so appreciate the beautiful interactions.
"Kiryu, it's your turn..." He look at you, blinking away his confusion. He cough awkwardly and pick the same story book from your hands to read another story to the children circling you both.
"...The end, now you guys should go home." He leave no room for argument before he left the book to one of the kids and drag you. Now he can you for himself.
柘浦 大河 🌺
Tsugeura Taiga is like Nirei but unlike Nirei, his enthusiasm to play with kids will include a bit of aggression, just a bit... When he realizes how undeniably good you are with younger kids, he gets giddy and energetic because he love kids! They're so innocent, doe-eyed and and adorable!
He loves the fact that you're not so different than him. Your interaction with the kids spark an excitement inside the pit of his belly. When you playfully chase after the kids pretending to be a monster, Tsugeura would join in gladly, taking two to three kids in his arms and run after you "Let's catch that pretty monster!"
It's a fun afternoon when you're outside, not at home, usually weekends, with Tsugeura and the kids, at the park, playing.
梅宮 一 🌺
Hajime Umemiya is well aware of how good you are with kids. Right from the moment he first met you, he knew how caring you are with children, especially toddlers above threes. He met you when he visited his old foster home and there you was, helping a child on three-tired bike as you helped her by pushing her bike from behind. It's truly a sight to behold.
Even after both officially date each other, the amazement does not cease, if anything, it's expanding.
You both are at the grocery store, picking out candies, snacks and junkies before dropping by the foster home like usual. Umemiya went to the dairy section to get you and himself a drink but when he gets back, he sees you, tiptoeing to grab a bag of candy, presumably for the little girl next to you "Ume-chan, please help!" He laughs, heading to the rescue and help you get the bag of candy for the little girl.
If had you turn around fast enough, you'd see the way his eyes form to heart-eyes when you stroke the little girl's hair and bid her.
柊登馬 🌺
Hiragi Toma's usual serious expression softened ever so slightly as he observed you engaging with younger children. He might have quietly watched you for a moment before making a casual remark, something like, "I didn't realize you had such a nurturing side." He even found it a refreshing change from your usual behavior. The way your lips tug ever so-slightly when kids goes around to you to tell you about their days and the way you laugh when they tell you funny stories is a beautiful sight to watch, honestly.
Hiragi just finish patrolling the town and now on his way to your work place, the good-even-when-it's-cold pastry shop. However, just as he's about to enter, a boy, probably around six, beat him to it. The boy almost sprint to you who's behind the counter and he was frantically handing you out a paper. Hiragi watches the brief interaction unfold before his eyes with a small smile on his face. When Hiragi enters, the boy yelled in enthusiasm "Shark-chan!" He look back and forth between you and the boy, confused, until the boy show him the paper he initially handed you.
It's a sketch, an absolute hideous yet intriguing sketch of him and you, standing next to each other. His teeth showed as he smile brightly in the drawing "Pretty-chan gave me a picture of you to draw this!"
梶 蓮 🌺
Ren Kaji dont like kids, especially toddlers around the age of eight to twelve. They're self-centered, immature and loud. They're also brutally honest which, sometimes, hit a nerve in the easily-annoyed man causing him almost to go berserk.
So when he saw you, the purest angel, the kindest soul to interact with his most sworn enemy, he almost went into a shocked-and-freeze state. Kaji also can't help but notice how attractive you look. He think he likes that side of you, that not-so foreign caring side of you, though he didn't really appreciate that side of you towards them.
When you saw Kaji across the field, you yell at him to come to which he did, begrudgingly. Unexpectedly, when he stop around, all the kids enthusiastically wave at him. Their smiles, damn, it struck him straight to the heart. His usual annoyed face falters as he look away, pretending to be irritate. You giggle, gesturing him to sit down beside you.
Before a quick matter of time, Kaji softened up around the kids. He may not seem like it but he's very attentive, listening to them with a pretend-disgruntled face "They're... Not so bad,"
十亀 条 🌺
Togame Jo love your interaction with kids, only if they're not the annoying kinds. A stark contrast to his usual laid-back and tough demeanour, his expression often wavers to the sight of you with kids. But despite all that, he might have to make a sarcastic comment, saying something like "I'd never thought I'd see you playing the caring babysitter?" while still trying to maintain his cool expression.
"Hey, brat, don't give my girlfriend a hard time, okay?" His tone appear neutral and chill but that makes the kid cower in fear, nodding his head in an anxious manner.
He'd laugh when you smack his back, telling him not to scare the kid. He smile, giving you a quick pat on the head whilst one hand taking a sip of his cold ramune drink.
"Your Kame-chan is just worried for you!~"
兎耳山 丁子 🌺
Choji Tomiyama has that hate-love relationship with younger children. Love because they're similar to him, cheerful, overjoyed and giddy. He love that even their way of thinking is similar. Him and kids, both think it's preferable to eat candies rather than actual food and hey, they're also on the same heights!
But... He also hates them because they're clingy and that's a bad thing because he is too. They're not sharing you with him but neither would he. Nevertheless of his slight hatred of them, he still love that you're attentive towards the group of children, very kind and gentle and he thinks you look so cute when you explain to them something in detailed like when they asked you; "Why is the grass wet?"
"Because it was raining."
"Why was it raining?" And you'd just tell them because it's sad and they'd ask you why it's sad so you just answer and answer their questions until they're tired.
"You wouldn't answer like that when I ask you though?" He pouts, dejected because he thinks you're being biased "They're four, Cho."
"I'm four too... mentally."

YANDERE BAKUGOU FAMILY HEADCANNONS (Platonic)
There would be NO DOUBT that they would ALL be HELLA OVERPROTECTIVE about you
I mean, Masaru would be kinda chill actually compared to Mitsuki and Katsuki. He won't freak TF out if you talk to other people and have fun with your friends and he's the most lenient one in the family and he doesn't give a damn what you wear. He likes seeing you in all sorts of clothing and thinks his darling little daughter looks good in whatever she wears and won't force you to do anything
But when it comes to the question of sleepovers and going to other people's houses WITHOUT EITHER one of the Bakugou's to accompany you is a big no go. They're worried that something might happen to you if you step out of the house and they half wish you'll stop trying to be apro hero. Why be a hero and put your life at risk while you have the big strong Ground Zero as your brother and 2 parents who are perfectly capable of protecting the youngest Bakugou?
Mitsuki, on the other hand will treat you like a child along with Katsuki. Everyone loves spoiling the shit outta you and Mitsuki likes dressing you up in cutesy cutesy little outfits. Mitsuki however will NEVER allow you to break rules like disobeying her when she says no to something and sneaking off with your friends. She simply will NOT tolerate rule breaking and even if you DO manage to sneak around her back, your brother Katsuki will always be there to 'get you on the right track' even if he has to use his quirk on you. They just want what's best for you after all
They are self aware yanderes and their relationship towards you is unhealthy and delusional and they KNOW it but they have to protect you from the horrors of the world. If you used to attend the UA, you bet Katsuki had something to do with why your mom suddenly wanted you to drop out and take a break for sometime and soon that 'break' turned into a never ending relaxing vacation at your home for you. You won't be working anytime soon while they're around that's for sure and while Masaru talks to you, Katsuki and Mitsuki will be busy preparing food for you guys to eat. They don't want you going in the kitchen, what if you accidentally hurt yourself or boil or burn yourself?
They'll love cuddling with you and making you feel safe and comfortable in their presence. They have NEVER hit you till date and never will either. And WHO expects parents to starve their own kids? Cuz, they aren't those types of parents
For punishments, they'll just restrict your usage of your favorite items but they won't leave you isolated or without food and water. They aren't THAT heartless psychopaths
Katsuki is the world's MOST short tempered brother one can have and you BET he's gonna cling to you 24/7 and tell on you to your parents what you both did the entire day (This boi should come with a blabbermouth and a tattletale warning label). You can hate him all you want for it but he just wants what's best for his youngest sibling. He loves and cares about you too much and he won't cuss around you so much either since he actually rather enjoys your innocence. His blood will BOIL when you talk to other people ESPECIALLY other GUYS and he'll obviously threaten to blow them up, even if you talk to Kirishima
Being in relationships is COMPELTELY off the table for you. They will NEVER allow you to date and if you are in a relationship in secret, oh... what a shocker, that scumbag broke up with you the next day? Well, you can BET your allowances your OWN family was behind it but they'll just comfort you as they get you and give you whatever you want
The house will be full of baby pictures of you and Katsuki and you all as a happy family. They'll have guests over a few times but they can't ever let someone try taking you away from them so they'll try limiting the time of the guest's stay in their household instead of maniacally killing them. They won't let pro heroes enter their house either and will come up with INFINITE excuses as to why they can't come in. They just don't want to lose you
Just let them take care of you and everything will be all right after all, family ALWAYS knows what's best for you...
''Come on little firecracker, you'll look cute and adorable in that dress and I think we should CERTAINLY put up some pictures of the wall after this. What do you think Masaru?''
''Sure, our little angel looks nice in whatever they wear''
"Tch... you don't look THAT bad firefly..."

Galileo Galilei Main Story
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies.
Mitsuki: "Ah…"
Galileo: "Haah."
His cold fingers dug into my neck, and his hot breath tickled my skin.
His fangs sank deeply, and the pain transformed into pleasure.
(If this continues…)
My consciousness started to fade, and I could hardly resist anymore.
Galileo: "Guh. Haah…"
Mitsuki: *coughs, coughs*
Suddenly, he groaned and let go of my body.
As soon as I collapsed onto the floor, air flowed into my throat, and I took a moment to catch my breath, coughing all the while.
(What just happened?)
When I looked at him, he was also breathing heavily.
Galileo: "Why? Why can't I kill you?"
His eyes, filled with anguish, glared at me.
Galileo: "Could it be that interfering with you affects fate? Is that why I'm being stopped?"
Galileo: "Is that the law of the world?"
Galileo: "Am I forever to be denied by fate?"
Mitsuki: "Galileo."
Not understanding what he was saying, I reached out involuntarily at his pained expression, but he brushed my hand away.
Galileo: "Even if I can't kill you, my goal is right before me."
Galileo: "I will end everything, so you should just watch silently."
Galileo: "I'll say it again and again. You are powerless."
Mitsuki: ".........."
He told me this to break my spirit and left the room.
I sat there, my gaze wandering.
(He really intended to kill me.)
As my dazed mind regained its senses, tears ran down my cheeks.
(No matter how much I try to understand him, if he hates me enough to kill me and rejects me, I can never touch his heart.)
The overwhelming sadness threatened to crush my chest, and tears continued to fall.
Leaving Mitsuki behind, Galileo came to the inner courtyard. There, where red flowers bloomed, he collapsed to his knees.
Galileo: "I won't be swayed."
Galileo: "Destruction is the only thing I truly desire."
His murmur faded into the air, and the red flowers swayed sadly.
After that, I returned to the mansion without Galileo's permission to flee from his hatred.
Three days after the commotion in the slums, we held Mireia's funeral.
Napoleon: "I brought Miguel here earlier. I thought I'd let him be alone with his sister."
Jean: "But it's about time. Could you go and check on him?"
Mitsuki: "Sure."
I entered the church and saw a small coffin placed in the spot where the light from the window shone down.
Miguel, sitting beside the coffin, was gazing into it with his blue eyes.
Mitsuki: "Miguel."
When I called out to him, he turned to look at me.
Miguel: "It's time, isn't it?"
As he stood up and came closer, he looked straight at me.
Miguel: "Thank you, big sis."
Mitsuki: "Huh?"
Miguel: "When I said I would take revenge on the hunters, you stopped me."
Miguel gently narrowed his eyes.
Miguel: "Honestly, I still hate them. I think this feeling will never go away."
Miguel: "But after hearing what you said, I want to think about Mireia instead of filling my heart with hatred."
Miguel: "I want to be a kind person, just like you and Mireia."
Mitsuki: "Miguel."
Miguel: "Thank you for trying to protect the me that Mireia loved so much."
He smiled shyly but still looked lonely.
(How many emotions are swirling inside this child right now?)
Anger, hatred, and sadness.
But perhaps his love for those dear to him is dissolving these negative emotions, slowly healing his wounded heart.
Seeing Miguel like this seems to save even me.
【I'll say it again and again. You are powerless.】
(That’s right, I'm powerless. I wanted to help, but there was nothing I could do. However, there was someone who listened to my voice.)
Mitsuki: "No, I just wanted you to be yourself."
Mitsuki: "Miguel, it's amazing that you accepted my voice and Mireia's feelings."
Miguel: "You think so? I won't forget your words or Mireia's."
Miguel: "And I won't forget the days I spent with her."
With tears in our eyes, we smiled at each other, and I suddenly thought,
(Did Galileo have someone like this when he was in pain? Someone who could gently soothe his wounds?)
Lost in thought, Miguel turned back to the coffin.
Miguel: "Rest in peace, Mireia."
He placed a bright red flower beside the coffin.
Mitsuki: "Miguel, where did you get that flower?"
Miguel: "It was on the coffin when I came to the church this morning."
Miguel: "I thought maybe the priest or someone from the mansion had placed it there."
(That's not it. There's only one place where that red flower blooms.)
The beautiful yet sorrowful garden where the remains of the Dhampir rest.
(Could it be that this flower is from Galileo?)
(Did he secretly come here to place a flower on the coffin, even though he seemed unfazed by the deaths of others?)
(I don't understand what you're thinking, Galileo.)
(What were you feeling when you placed that flower here?)
I didn't understand, yet seeing the flower tightened my chest.
(I can't give up.)
(I want to know what you're thinking, your feelings when you placed that flower here, what led you to destruction, and what you truly desire.)
(I want to touch the real you.)
After the flowers drifted and the funeral bells echoed in the sky, I went to the Seine River with a certain resolve.
(He might be here.)
Mitsuki: "Drake!"
When I called out, Drake's eyes slightly widened before he gave a wry smile.
Drake: "Hey, runaway girl. I thought you'd never show up in front of us again."
Drake: "You ran away yourself, so what do you want?"
Mitsuki: "I need to ask you a favor."
I stared back at Drake, not letting his words get to me.
Mitsuki: "I want you to lend me the harness you're wearing."
The harnesses that Galileo and Drake wear stabilize the space beyond the door.
(With that, I can...)
Drake: "You intend to go through that door, little fawn?"
I nodded, and Drake's eyes silently asked, "Why?"
Without looking away from his gaze, I spoke up.
Mitsuki: "I've always wanted to understand Galileo."
Mitsuki: "He told me to see the truth with my own eyes; that's why I've been watching him closely since then."
(Sometimes, I end up hurting him.)
Mitsuki: "But I still haven't gotten close to him. Focusing only on the present isn't enough."
Mitsuki: "Without knowing the truth, no words of mine will ever reach him. That's why I want to know what happened in his past."
When I said this without any pretense, Drake's eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Drake: "Don't you think using that door is cheating?"
Mitsuki: "I do."
(Peeking into someone's past without permission shouldn't be allowed.)
Especially for Galileo.
His past was so painful that he wanted to erase and deny it.
(But...)
When I recalled his fragile, tormented figure,
(I can't afford to be picky about the methods.)
Mitsuki: "I know it's unfair to try to understand Galileo this way."
Mitsuki: "But I feel that only by seeing and accepting all of his past with my own eyes can I finally touch his true heart."
Drake: "............"
Drake gazed at me as if trying to discern something.
More than anything, my heart was now directed towards Galileo, driven by a sense of justice.
Drake: "I see."
Drake: "I guess I've also gotten caught up with the woman of destiny."
Mitsuki: "What do you mean by that?"
Without answering my question, he removed his cloak and threw the harness toward me.
Drake: "Alright. I'll lend this to you, Mitsuki."
Drake: "Let's see your desperate struggle, shall we?"
After that, I returned to the mansion and went to the door without anyone noticing.
I put on the harness I borrowed from Drake, took a deep breath, and looked at the door.
(I’m now heading to Galileo’s past.)
I heard that this door responds to strong feelings.
My feelings for him will be my only guide to this door that connects to any country and any era.
(Galileo's past is connected to his goal of destruction. To stop that and to protect him, I need to see the truth with my own eyes.)
I reached out and opened the heavy door.
Meanwhile, at that moment,
Galileo: "Ugh, haah, haah."
Drake: "You okay, Galileo?!"
The door opened, and Galileo appeared from beyond.
Drake, supporting his staggering body, clicked his tongue at the sight of him breathing heavily.
Drake: "You went out on the night of the lunar eclipse. If things were gonna turn out like this, I should've been there to help you right from the start."
Galileo: "I told you, Drake. If we both collapse, it’d be meaningless."
Galileo: "Also, because we share the same wish, we can mercilessly abandon each other if something happens."
Drake: "You're right."
Galileo: "Besides, I finally found it."
Drake: "So it’s finally time."
Galileo: "Yeah. Now, we just have to wait for the moon to rise."
Galileo, after calming his breath a bit, suddenly noticed something.
Galileo: "Where's your harness, Drake?"
Drake: "I lent it to Mitsuki."
Galileo: "What?"
Drake smiled wryly and furrowed his eyebrows.
Drake: "Don't give me that look. She seemed dead serious about struggling, like a fawn ready to fight."
Drake: "She wants to see your past and protect you."
His purple eyes trembled ever so slightly.
But the momentary hesitation vanished in a blink of an eye.
Galileo: "Protect me? What good does protecting me do?"
Drake: "........."
Galileo: "Whether she's the woman of destiny or not, it doesn't matter. I won't be swayed by her, ever."
As each held steadfast to their feelings, midnight was about to fall.

Someone is obsessed with me. But yeah it's not my fault you're blind and in denial. Like anyone can see Kishi has a thing for Sasuke if they're not delusional. Even some straight men can somehow see it.
Blocking and unblocking just to reblog my stuff with hate comment and then blocking again so I can't see it. Lame. 💁♀️
Yes Naruto resembles his parents (there's even an interview where Kishi talks with editor how Naruto shares both of his parent's traits) and Sasuke looks like Mikoto. What about it?
If you actually bothered to read my posts, you'd know why I make those parallels. It's about a dynamic. Not personalities. Same with Mario/Saori. And Minato isn't like Sasuke, other than smart. He's way more chipper and goofy. Boruto/Sarada certainly have the Hokage vs. Nukenin thing, I won't deny that, but they pretty much got nothing else. Sarada is neither like Naruto or Sasuke in her overall dynamic with Boruto. Ironically, Kishimoto made Mitsuki parallel Sasuke to Boruto's Naruto in his monologue about his feelings towards Boruto, how he is the moon to Boruto's sun, how he wants to be by his side, and pretty implying he has feelings for Boruto. But I'm not gonna talk about that more since I have confliced feelings about it.
Man I know some of my posts piss people off but at least I back them up. Also have some spine instead of blocking and unblocking all the time.

Bakugo and Fashion designer Reader
Fluff. Hate to love?
The fashion industry is not an easy world. Everybody knows it. It's cruel, grueling, tiring and unforgiving. You need steel nerves, cold blood and being resourceful to just get a chance in this world. Tears shaped but don't break.
It was with this mantra you were forged. Your childhood was made of the blood of your fingers by piercing them on needles. Your teenagehood was scattered by sobs you hold by being screeming at during internships. Your early adulthood was describe with the choking of anxiety, your first jobs, being badly paid, the rents, the deadlines...
The road was sinuous, but your dream was worth it. Tears shaped but don't break. All this years, your work made you stand out. You had ideas, brillant ideas.
Now in your thirties, you were the head of collection for Singular, one of the biggest house in the Japan fashion industry. The brand's creators were the infamous Bakugo. Masaru and Mitsuki Bakugo.
It was an honor to work for them. You took great care of what they gave you, you were meticulous, handling your teams like a leader. You soothed your bosses worries, erased problems and put the brand into a new era. They were so thankful.
Masaru often put a coffee on your desk and Mitsuki gave you one of her rare praise. Everything was good in your life, everything except Dynamight.
He was the one black spot in your life. Since the day you came to Singular, he decided he hated you. You remembered the first time Mitsuki presented you to him. Without getting his hand out of his pocket while you were hanging yours, he looked you up and down then said, "You won't last a week."
It hurted your ego so much to hear a top hero degrading you like that. It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, even years after. At this time, you didn't know for how long you would work for the Bakugo. But today, it was your third year anniversary for Singular. And damn you were smug about it.
Not only you were the one to hold the post for the longest, but your name was famous too. So much fashion houses all around the world asked you to work for them.
What made you so famous? An idea you developed with the Bakugos. Civilians were the first victims to villains attacks. So you thought about clothes that could protect them. Fireproof, chockproof, warm, acidproof etc... The designs were cool, sophisticated playing with black and reflective fabrics so heroes would found the civils easily.
It was your masterpiece. Everybody fought to have clothes from Singular. There was words that the couple would pass you the reigns when they'll retire.
So today, the third anniversary of your entry in Singular, you had a shoot with some pro heroes for the new collection.
Mitsuki had asked (more like ordered) her son to model for the brand with some of his friends. The brand was made for the public good after all.
The blond had stop pestering you years ago. But he would still glare you think and try to not to be in the same room if he could. And yes, after all this time it still affected you.
"Goodmorning heroes! I'm really happy to see you! Singular is honored to have you shoot for us."
"Morning! You are Y/N L/N! We are honored Singular called us," cheered Deku. "I've loved the winter collection! It was so cool and thoughtful I've ask my designers to take inspirations from you."
Your cheeks warmed at the compliment.
"He's right, your idea to protect civilians was so manly!" completed Red Riot.
You thanked them and directed them to the loges so they could change. You didn't look at Dynamight, it was useless. Your presence and your fame was enough of a revenge.
The blond eyes followed you, red irises tracking all of your movements.
"I thought you told me they were evils that managed to brainwach your parents." murmured Kirishima "They looked pretty cool."
"Shut it Shitty Hair."
Kirishima looked his best friend stomping to his loge. He knew him, there was something in his voice. He stopped counting the number of times he heard about this "Stupid designer working for his parents". He would always be talking about them when he came back from his parents' office. Kirishima had find some magazines in his house about them and Singular. He had them because it was "his parents stupid brand". And how they absolutely ignored him just before and then he's frowning like a... Oh.
Oh! Damn, it was happening!
When Katsuki went out of the cabin adjusting the clothes while frowning like there was a problem, well there was one for him. The clothes fitted him well. So well. He was used to good shit with his parents but that was next level. He couldn't ignore your work when you were all his parents talk about. Y/N this, Y/N recommended that restaurant, Y/N that, Y/N is so talented and intelligent... He hated you. Damn he hated you so much. Because he couldn't deny it was right. You were amazing and it killed him he was so mean to you at the beginning. Now you barely acknowledge his presence, acting like you didn't care!
Alright, he deserved it. But he didn't know how to change your opinion of him.
Kirishima waited for him with a big grin.
"You could have told me bro, that you have a crush on them."
"What again, Hair for brain?"
"Come on Bakubro! It's okay, you just need to talk to them."
"I'm not!" he swore blushing. "Listen, they hate me, I hate them and it's perfect like this."
"You're blushing Kachaan." intervened Izuku with a knowing smile.
"I'M NOT!!! STOP IT NOW, I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT!"
Kirishima knew how Deku's teasing got the explosive man. The green head just needed to pock him a little for him to explose and spill it.
"It's no big deal, Kachaan. Even I can do it!"
"Shut it stupid nerd! You won't talk to them and I won't talk to them either!"
"Why? Are you scared that you might like them evenmore if you talked? I definitely should talk to them."
"NO YOU'RE NOT!"
"Then stop me!" smiled the hero while activating his quirk.
You admired your work. You were pleased with the result. The photos were amazing, showing the adaptability and the comfortability of the new clothes. It was more of a sport wear collection. The heroes were running uround and jumping, looking straight ahead or directly at the camera.
Your favorite was a Dynamight photography. He jumped over a barrier with his quirk while looking at the camera. His red eyes glowed with the light emitted by his explosion. A faint smile adorned his lips.
You understood why he was his parents muse. His charisma, his style, his drive were exactly what Singular was. Authentic. Bold. Energetic.
You were admiring the photography when Bakugo came to you. His friends pushed him towards you, shooting things you didn't understand. It had been a long day, they pestered him about you none stop. He caved. And now he swallowed, then remembered you were just a human being with nothing to be scared about. But damn he was tense. He waited for you to look at him but you didn't.
"You're satisfied?" he asked to gain your attention.
"Kinda" you said while hiding which photo you were looking. "What do you want?"
He didn't respond immediately. Like he was hesitant.
"Can we keep the clothes?"
A faint redness appeared on his ears.
"Yes of course, they were for you anyway."
He nodded but didn't say anything for a long minute. He cursed at himself in his head. Why was he fucking chickening out? Come on it was not that hard! Finally he asked you what he wanted.
"You've got plan for your anniversary?"
You blinked. You didn't expect him to know about your third year anniversary.
"I don't know... Maybe a restaurant and some good wine. I wasn't expected to stay this long in Singular after all."
The last sentence was for him and he understood it.
"Really? You're still mad about that? It was three years ago!"
"Exactly. We wouldn't have this conversation if I wasn't still there, right?"
He sighed. He should have saw it coming. He looked behind him at Kirishima and Deku.
"You know what? You're right. And be fucking honored I said that. I shouldn't have done to you... Whatever the hell I've done... three years ago !" he shouted.
"That's an apology?"
"I'm not done yet! I'm gonna do it right, not gonna gave you half-assed words and call it a day! You should go to the restaurant in the third avenue tonight, it's fucking amazing, the wine will be at your door when you come back. I won't bother you anymore."
"Why? What do you want to do ?"
"Nothing dumbass. Not a lot of people can prouve me wrong and you've decided to be one of them. So now it's my turn to prouve you wrong about me."
"You want to prouve me your not an arrogant bully?"
"Yeah, I guess." he frowned while crossing his arms.
"Well good luck Dynamight..."
You turned your heels, exciting the room. The blond in your back grinned. Lucky him, he liked challenge.
Your driver, when you got in your car drive you to the third avenue.
"Where are we?" You asked.
"The Three Stars Restaurant on the third avenue, I have received instructions to take you here."
You arked a brow. The reservation was made for you. Just like he promised, a wine bottle with flowers were waiting in front of you appartement after. It was going on like this for a few months. Flowers, warm meals, notes... You didn't wanna talk about how his parents looked since they learned who left flowers on your desk.
With time, the bitterness you felt in his presence slowly sooth itself. He was not the guy that degraded you on your first day of the job anymore. He was a friend, a confident, something more you didn't dare put a label on yet. It was a long road, it took time to strip off your suspicions.
One day, after reviewing the last touches of the collection, you found him in your office.
"Dynamight," you greeted. "What a surprise."
"L/N." He smiled, eyeing your sketches and mood boards on the wall.
"Do you need anything?" You tried to hide your giddiness. The blond smiled at you, it was soft and warm, his cheeks slowly tainted with a cherry color you wanted to bite.
He pounded his response. You had reciprocated his advances recently. You gave his parents a note with your number a few months ago. He felt hot when his father gave it to him. He waited a long time for it.
And here he was, his heart in a place far too vulnerable for his liking. His admiration, his amusement, his care for you bubbling inside his every nerves. He liked you. It was not a damn cruch anymore. And the number of time he checked his phone for you should angered him. But it doesn't.
Texting and calling you was fun. You kept each other company while one was on night patrol and the other on a desk sketching and organizing the next collection.
"You free tonight?" He asked. He knew you had nothing but it felt good to ask, to give you a choice.
You looked at him, Singular clothes on, casual pose, acting confident. A muse. A muse and so much more he was now. You felt comfort around him. You definitely remembered the arched brow of Mitsuki when she saw your lastest drawings. "Interesting this pattern... It looks like... Explosions ?"
Oh the smugness in her voice.
You were whipped. A year ago you hated his guts. And now... You were wrong. You could see it in how easily he cared for you or his parents. How dedicated he was in his work, just like you were to yours.
You understood him, and him you. You had a similar childhood. And both of you were looking for someone who would push the other to do his best. Was he that?
"Yeah, I am," you answered after looking at your calendar. "Why?"
He walked to you, pupils piercing yours. He radiated determination, but he was still cautious in his steps.
"I would like to take you to the restaurant. On a date." His deep voice scratched his throat, making you shivering.
But as Dynamight could be determined it was your choice. And that's what scared him. Just between his brows, you could discerned the tension.
You smiled and took his hands, nodding. A grin awoke on his handsome face.
"With pleasure Hero, I'm starving!"
"Have you eaten today at least, you workaholic?"
"Yes!"
"More than three bites?"
"Oh shush. I was busy!"
"Be glad my mother doesn't know about it. She would kill you for not eating properly."
"I guess it's your problem now, " you smiled. "Desappointed?"
He laughed, enterlacing your fingers and rushing to get out of the building. "Not at all..."

Do you know why in one databook of naruto Masashi Kishimoto said that the relationshio between orochimaru and anko was intense? And in what page of one of the databook he compares a tecnique like lovers suicide? For me, anko loves him since a long time and orochimaru too but when she grew up! ♡
Here's the link to the first source pace. The pages on Anko are 122-123, where her relationship with Orochimaru is described as intense/ very deep (depending on the translation, but it means the same thing). Page 206 is where the Twin Snakes Mutual Death/ Twin Snake Sacrifice jutsu is compared to a lover's suicide. Here's my post on that, where I cite Narutopedia as my source. I don't own it personally. I can only point to the online sources/ translations.
As to why Kishimoto said that, I can only give you an educated guess. So here goes, I can't see how Anko wouldn't have been in awe of him/ crushing on him big time when she was his student. He was a Sannin, he was still the favourite to succeed the 3rd Hokage at the time, he thought she had incredible potential- short of having a kekkei genkai (the Sharingan is the only reason he gives for Sasuke having more potential than her), the fact he accuses her of being jealous of Sasuke, his intelligence and how (though he held some stuff back) he taught her everything she knows, and how, despite everything, she still copies his behaivours. I mean, if she really hates him that much, you'd think she'd quit waving her tongue around like she idolises him. Not to mention, she still keeps the photo of the two of them together on her headboard. To have someone's photo be the first and last thing you look at each day, they have to be very dear to you. I think she feels a hell of a lot of guilt for the things he did, but he'll always be the only one who means the world to her. No one can take his place.
With Orochimaru, he must have seen her as his "pet." Recall when Sakon reveals his curse mark to Sasuke, he says, "Did you think you were Lord Orochimaru's only pet?" Pawns get experimented on like easily disposable lab rats. Curse marks are reserved for his most valuable pieces. And the Heaven's curse mark is the most powerful of them, which is why he risked it on Sasuke. I would also go further with the snake summoning contract. Orochimaru has (that we know of) initiated only three others into a pact with Ryuchi Cave. Those are Kabuto, his right-hand man; Sasuke, his ideal vessel; and Mitsuki, his child, whom he hopes will be the Moon who aides the Sun in saving the world during the next great conflict. That's a pretty exclusive group, and the snakes are not especially welcoming. He must've had a lot of faith in her and viewed her as a valued apprentice, not simply a student or subordinate. Also, in their team photo, it's just the two of them. She doesn't have teammates till the Chunin exams, when they're required. Jiraiya is not shown with only Minato, but two other students we never see or hear about again. It must've been the two of them for several years and she must've been very important to him. Otherwise, why would he bother?
I get the feeling that there was a Genji/ Murasaki element there (in The Tale of Genji, Murasaki is the young girl he abducts, educating her to be his ideal woman, and eventually marrying her. She remains devoted to him, despite his faithlessness, including a marriage to another woman. She tells him she wants to be nun, but he won't let her, and she dies soon after). Then there's the story that most likely influenced Anko's character and relationship with Orochimaru, The Tale of the Gallant Jiraiya, which the Sannin are based on. Orochimaru is the master of snake magic. He is betrothed to a princess, but she becomes frightened of him as his villainous behaivour worsens. Jiraiya and Tsunade end up rescuing her.

Hiii i saw some other asks but they all had like 4 emojis so now idk if this is too much im so sorry if it is, hopefully you can answer all if you want to! Hope you have a great day! 💞🤩🧠(katsuki)🤗🍦
lol anon are you kidding?! I LOVE talking about myself and my writing you are doing ME the favor hahaha
💞- Who's your comfort character?
Hmmm you know I actually never really thought about the 'definition' of what a comfort character is. Like, what's the difference between that and a favorite character? I looked it up and read a thinkpiece or two... (this is not supposed to be that deep I knoowwwwww i'm sorrryyy) but if we go by what I read, like a pseudo-parasocial-relationship, about who I think about when I'm upset or who motivates me in real life or who I just vibe with in general I'd say...
Izuku Midoriya. I can't even explain it. Like, if it doesn't have Deku in it, I ain't interested (BNHA fandom-wise.) He's flawed and overly sensitive and works SO SO HARD and is so sincere and GOOD and also INSANE SOMETIMES and he's just. My favorite. Literally no other MC can do it like him.
🤩- Who is your favorite character to write?
Hahhaha oh jeez I think my favorite to write might be Katsuki. I also really love writing Akutagawa. They both have a very particular manner of speech that I think brings a LOT of character to narration. I also write writing them both because getting a read into their inner minds is super fun, because we, as the audience, don't really get to hear their internal monologues. What do they think about? How do they think about it? Their heads are SO fucked, I just love picking them apart piece by piece lmao
🧠- Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them. (Katsuki)
That he's hopelessly, painfully in love with Izuku and he thinks its unrequited.
Just joking....
...Unless?
No but this is kinda hard. My thoughts about Katsuki are actively changing with canon. He's changed so much in canon. I guess this isn't a fun one, but I truly do believe Katsuki has a... difficult... relationship with his mother. They're too similar and the kind of shit she's said about him seems really cruel and backhanded. I also wouldn't be surprised if he instilled some of Katsuki's dislike of 'quirkless' Izuku. Mitsuki doesn't strike me as the kind of woman that ever really hugged Katsuki or told him that she loved him, she expected perfection from him and he GAVE her that. I also think, at least in part, his 'bad boy act' (because we know, WE KNOW its an act) is a way to rebel against her. No hate towards Mitsuki but I think across every universe she's shaped Katsuki's self-hatred and extreme pride and belief that he's not worthy of gentleness or affection. Erhem.
Wow I made myself sad with that. Oh moms. You sure are... something.
🤗 - What advice would you give to new fanfic writers that are just getting started?
Haha I'm not sure I'm qualified to give advice! I'll definitely do my best.
I echo what lots of other people say. Just write. Whatever it is. With whatever skill you have. Get whatever story you have in your head down. It doesn't have to be perfect. Or even complete. The act of putting it into words is insanely valuable. You won't even notice yourself becoming a better writer, but it happens almost naturally.
One saying I kinda live by is 'if you build it, they will come.' None of your ideas are too 'niche' or too 'weird.' Different people connect to different concepts. Some of my most rewarding writing experiences have been from writing shit that I legitimately thought no one would read. Keep at it. Recognition is not an indicator of quality. The right people will find you.
Write your thoughts down. Even if you think its stupid. You'd be surprised how much you revisit things. I often use text-to-speech for ideas or dialogue when I'm driving. This I've started doing more recently, but when you cut things out of your writing, save them in another document or at the bottom.
Obviously, read. The more you read, the better you'll write. We're all Frankenstein amalgamations of our favorite authors. Again, you won't know what will flip a switch in your brain until you give it a shot, right? I hate to say it, but sometimes 'classics' can be that inspiration. They're survived this long for a reason. 'The Picture of Dorian Gray' and 'East of Eden' both changed my brain chemistry and they were high school reading assignments....
Gosh. I mean, not to be cheesy, but just have fun with it. Its a hobby and its supposed to bring you joy. Don't worry about updating schedules or word counts or stats. Write whats in you and let it blossom, ya know?
🍦- What's the sweetest fic you've created so far?
Oh jeez this is also hard because I write like... a ton of porn.
BUT. I think my sweetest fic is Battle of the Bands.
In particular I really REALLY love the epilogue chapter. That Katsuki and Izuku go on tour together.... that they have matching tattoos instead of wedding bands... THAT THEY GET MARRIED AND LIVE THEIR DREAM TOGETHER.... plus. like. the SLOW SLOW SLOW burn of it all. the love songs. the yearning. making music of feelings you cannot say aloud. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
🎶- Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?
oh definitely! its kind of become an unintentional tradition. i generally start a new playlist for every fic and add things 'vibe-wise' that i already know, then randomize and add songs on that way. It sets the stage, in a weird way. And when I'm stuck, I often look for new songs for the playlist (obviously looking up lyrics and the like) so its inspiration on inspiration!
Lately I've been.... listening to some music from my emo-esque high school and early college years. I've listened to 'Death for My Birthday' by Say Anything a lot. Their self-titled album is actually pretty decent. Hate Everyone, Do Better, Less Cute, Eloise, Crush'd, Cemetery, Narcissus, I Hate You More Than I Hate My Period are all great.
But I'm also writing The Path To Paradise, so I'm listening to my 'To Hell and Back' playlist while writing it (I'm roadtripwithlucifer on Spotify.) I really like Carve Me Open by Silences but all the playlists are solid tbh. in MY honest opinion.
AHHHh THANK yOU FOR THE QUESTIONS ANON i hope the responses are okay!!! as always i ranted and overthought everything apologies forever and ever
#ask game#oof the last ask makes it sound like i'm SUPER depressed but i'm not!!! promises!!!#this one was FUN. AHHH!

Ingredients: Katsuki Bakugou x Gn! Reader Contains: children, reader being called parent, mention of PTSD, Type of order: hot chocolate (fluff) Words: 263 Taglist: @loveing-eyes A/n: This epilogue got really short, but I think it's just perfect to round up this journey. I hope you liked reading it and thank you <3
Five years had passed since you got engaged to the loud blond one who literally saved your life. Aiko is still in custody, and she won't be released for ten more years. The wedding was perfect, and everyone was happy. Mitsuki was so thankful that you married her son. "Aiko was such a brat. I hated her, but you are an angel." You still remembered her words, and every time you had to smile. Just like now. "What are you thinking about, dear?" asked Bakugou as he wrapped his arms around you. "Just how lucky I am to have you." you mussed as you watched your children running through your garden, playing some sort of hide and seek. "Yes you are, and I am the luckiest man on earth to have you by my side." he kissed your jawline, down to your collarbone, until he stopped at your chest.
Even though you still had to fight your PTSD, you were happy that this man was by your side. His behavior back then was childish, but you knew that he always dreamed of it, so you didn't blame him that much. It turned out well in the end. "Parent look, I found a shamrock with four leaves. I am the luckiest child on earth. " Your little boy danced around the garden, and your younger daughter entered the wild dance. "We should dance too, don't you think?" whispered Bakugou inside your ear. You simply nodded, and you started dancing together as a family. Everything was alright, and no one could hurt you ever again.

I Love “Rumbling Hearts”. Don't watch it.
Copying this over from a thread on Mastodon, for the sake of a first post.
Well, I said I was going to post more original content here on Mastodon than on the other site.
And despite the fact that I see a lot more of my iOS/Mac dev friends here than Anitwitter refugees, I'm going to kick off a thread about #anime, because my favorite show just became available on Crunchyroll, as part of the Funimation merger: https://www.crunchyroll.com/series/G6ZXM399R/rumbling-hearts
Rumbling Hearts, or Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ("The Eternity You Desire") is a 2003 14-episode series based on a 2001 visual novel, a sort of choose-your-own-adventure style of video game that's heavy on reading and light on interaction. The anime is rated mature for adult situations and nudity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumbling_Hearts
I'm not going to recommend you watch Rumbling Hearts, because I believe it is an uncommonly difficult sell in 2022. But the fact that it's so much of its time might be why I like it, why I go back to it, and why you won't find anything remotely like it today.
For starters, Rumbling Hearts is a romantic drama aimed at adult male viewers. We really don't have anything comparable in the west today.
I think we used to! I mean, Casablanca is one of Hollywood's most beloved romantic dramas, and that's told from Rick's point of view, not Ilsa's. But romance has been denigrated in the west, marginalized as being for women only, and saddled with insulting slurs like "chick flicks".
Anime has a thriving genre of male-skewing romance, often built around the concept of "moé", ("mo-EH"), a feeing of wanting to cherish and protect someone.
Some of the most popular of these come from a company called Key, known for tear-jerkers like Clannad and Angel Beats.
The thing is, in Key's stories, the romantic interests are tragic characters who usually suffer through no fault of their own. In Clannad, for example, Nagisa has a chronic disease, Kotori's parents died in a plane crash, Fuuko is a girl in a coma in the next town over and doesn't actually exist, etc.
What makes Rumbling Hearts different is that the characters aren't innocent. They are all deeply flawed, and largely the cause of their own suffering.
Takayuki, our protagonist, is friendly, cheerful, and just wants to get along. This, unfortunately, is his problem: that's all he wants. He is evasive, quick to tell little white lies, and unwilling or unable to make the right decision when he needs to.
Haruka has had a crush on Takayuki for years, but hasn't been able to act on it. She is innocent to a fault: timid, shy, sometimes even mousy.
Mitsuki is Haruka's best friend, and a gal-pal to Takayuki. She sets the two of them up, and then later decides she might have actually wanted Takayuki for herself. She can be manipulative, and after the three-year time-skip, her adult version develops some truly dangerous habits, like using sex to get what she wants, and going blackout drunk to avoid her problems.
Akane is Haruka's younger sister. In her youth, she aspired to be a swimming champ like Mitsuki. Post-time-skip, she fiercely defends her sister. She's everything that Takayuki and Haruka aren't: bold and pushy, though she has a tendency to take things way too far.
So, there I think is the problem. In 2022, western audiences generally don't want flawed characters. We want protagonists who are likable. More than that, I think there's a mindset that if we're going to imprint on a character, they have to be perfect, because that reflects better on us. We can't relate to fuckups, because that would mean that we're fuckups. There's an empty narcissism to modern media consumption and I really hate it.
When I was young and learning writing, all the guides said that characters have to be flawed to be believable and relatable. Whatever happened to that?
I'll tell you my pet theory: JK Rowling ruined an entire generation of readers and viewers. When the Sorting Hat literally tells you who's good, bad, and indifferent, there is zero room left for nuance or depth. Harry Potter is the good guy, I like Harry Potter, therefore I am a good guy. Thanks, I hate it.
So that leaves Rumbling Hearts to thread this incredibly hazardous needle: to give you these characters who screw up and hurt themselves and hurt those around them, and then asks you to root for them anyways, to want them be able to overcome themselves and their own bad habits.
As you probably guessed, this goes over like a lead balloon with a lot of people. You'll find a lot more YouTube videos trashing Rumbling Hearts than praising it. https://youtu.be/wr0BuAUbDqw?t=1048
So, yeah, I can't recommend Rumbling Hearts, because I doubt most people are going to relate to it. The ideas behind it are fundamentally unpalatable to most modern audiences.
And the fact it was made with early digital animation techniques to save money, with the expectation it would be viewed on a fuzzy CRT and not a 60" 4K LCD, doesn't help either.
But… well… I wouldn't have written such a long and unwelcome thread if I didn't think there was something truly special and valuable here. I come back to it every few years and discover something new, either in the show or in myself.
So, don't watch Rumbling Hearts, but hopefully you'll understand why it lands like it does for me.

Kawaki the oldest hokage son AU?
Okay, I had been going back down the rabbit hole of the anime again and I just can't get rid of this idea.
Hear me out real quick, what if Naruto and Sasuke never got nerfed the way they did? Instead of waiting for the threat to show itself they are actively looking out for Otsutsuki and managed to find and eliminate Kara.
This is when Kawaki was just bought and got carved the Karma, and Naruto in his signature fashion took Kawaki in and eventually adopted the boy when he heard his story. So basically, Boruto and Kawaki would become adopted brothers at the age of 4 and 6 respectively, and Himawari would be 2 years old.
Now give the sunshine siblings 6 years to grow up together and now you have a Kawaki who's not only obsessed with his adopted dad but also the rest of the family. And because he also got the Karma inside him (even though he doesn't exactly know how to correctly use it), Kawaki would be far more skilled than his peers and seniors alike. Which would also enable his toxic protectiveness that made him seal Naruto away in the canon, while it's definitely a lot healthier than whatever he has going on in the canon timeline, Kawaki would still be the biggest jerk on the block whenever someone tries anything with any of his family member.
On the side note, I'm confident this AU Kawaki wouldn't even like Boruto's friends at all. There's also a big fat chance that he won't even like how his little bro is the center of attention lmao (cause he says it attracts weird fucker like Mitsuki), Sarada can be annoying and adventurous, Inojin can be too harsh, Shikadai gets too smart for his own good sometimes, etc...
It would just be hellish for Boruto lol, on one side he has to make sure his friends don't hate his brother, on the other side he has to make sure his brother doesn't go too feral on literally everyone he meets 😭
Btw, Kawaki in ANBU uniform would be so hot ngl

Galileo Galilei Main Story
Translations may not always capture the exact nuances or tone of the original text. Expect grammatical errors and inaccuracies. This is a rush translation.
The next day, the sun rose high between the clouds.
(I wonder where Galileo went.)
After peeking around indoors and in the garden, I returned with a sigh.
(He's not in his room either.)
(Maybe...?)
I reached a certain conclusion and made my way to the door.
(Has he gone beyond the door alone?)
Since I came here, he always told me to come along whenever he used it, but...
(Yesterday, I intruded into Galileo's heart and hurt him.)
(It's only natural if he finds me unpleasant.)
Recalling his clear rejection made my chest ache.
(But if he used the door, he might be suffering alone now.)
I couldn't help but worry just thinking about the possibility of him suffering, so I reached out to open the door.
Drake: "Stop that."
I turned around and saw Drake standing there with a serious expression.
Drake: "Something weird is happening beyond that door. Without this harness, you could end up anywhere."
Drake: "You might not even be able to come back."
Mitsuki: "You're right. Sorry for being reckless."
Mitsuki: "Since I couldn't find Galileo, I thought maybe..."
Drake: "I'm pretty sure he didn't use the door today. But are you really that concerned about him?"
I nodded and looked straight up at Drake.
Mitsuki: "You know what Galileo is up to, don't you?"
Drake: "Of course. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here."
Mitsuki: "Then can you tell me what he's trying to do?"
Mitsuki: "What is he looking for with the door, and how does he plan to put an end to this world?"
Drake looked at me for a moment, then shrugged lightly.
Drake: "I told you before that you'd have to see for yourself."
Mitsuki: "I understand. I also wanted to understand Galileo with my own eyes."
Mitsuki: "But the more I try to get close to him, the more I feel like I'm hurting him."
(I want to understand Galileo properly, but I don't want to hurt him.)
Feeling unsure of what to do, I clenched my fists tightly.
Drake: "......."
Drake: "I quite like the fact that you ventured in alone to get to know him."
Drake: "But I want to see the same view as Galileo, so I won't help you."
Drake: "But I won't interfere either."
Mitsuki: "Huh?"
When I first came here, Drake said that he would take my life if necessary.
Hearing him say he wouldn't interfere now feels surprisingly unexpected, so I gave him a questioning look.
Then he quickly stopped smiling and said,
Drake: "Hey, Mitsuki. What are you planning to do when you learn the truth about Galileo?"
Mitsuki: "If he's up to something dangerous, I'll try to stop him."
Drake: "For what purpose?"
Mitsuki: "To break the chain of hatred and sorrow."
Drake: "Do you think his actions breed hatred?"
Mitsuki: "I don't know. But if it does, I'd hate that."
Drake: "If he continues to achieve his goal, would you stop him even if it means killing him?"
Mitsuki: "----!"
I wasn't honestly thinking that far ahead and found myself struggling for an answer.
As I remained silent, Drake's expression softened.
Drake: "Well, I suppose it doesn't matter how you decide for now."
Drake: "If you're still willing to go through all that trouble for Galileo, I'll be sure to witness the fate you bring."
Mulling over the notion of fate, Drake smiled as if he were an observer.
As the day began to wane, I arrived in the city, tinged with orange hues.
(It's been a while since I saw Galileo.)
Drake permitted me to go out today.
Under the guise of buying groceries, I walked through the city streets, seeking escape from the labyrinth of my own thoughts.
(All that trouble, huh?)
(Drake said that, but what should I do?)
My chest tightened just thinking about hurting Galileo again.
(I'm not just afraid of hurting Galileo.)
(Am I also afraid of being rejected?)
It's only natural to feel sad if the person you want to know and get closer to rejects you.
But just imagining it fills me with a mixture of loneliness, pain, and worry.
(Why am I feeling like this?)
As these faint doubts arose, I suddenly heard a passerby.
Resident 1: "Hey, did you hear? They say the folks in the slums caught a vampire!"
(They caught a vampire?)
Resident 2: "Yeah, I heard. Wanna go see if it's real?"
I heard their conversation and involuntarily stopped in my tracks.
(Could something have happened to someone in the mansion?)
Mitsuki: "Um, excuse me! Could you please tell me more about that story?"
Feeling anxious, I called out to them, and although surprised, the men agreed to tell me.
Resident 1: "You know about the rumors of a vampire lurking in the slums for a while now, right?"
Resident 1: "When the residents caught it, it turned out it was a kid."
(A kid?)
I was relieved to hear that it wasn't someone at the mansion or the old castle, but...
Resident 1: "He has blond, curly hair and blue eyes. At first glance, he looks human, and he was apparently with his sister."
(What!?)
The characteristics he mentioned fit Miguel perfectly.
If that was the case, then the little sister they mentioned must be Mireia.
Resident 2: "I really don't believe in vampires, but they say those creatures were feeding on human corpses."
Resident 2: "That's not something humans would do. Terrifying, isn't it?"
There was a hint of curiosity in his tone.
After thanking them, I hurriedly left, my heart pounding loudly.
(Miguel and Mireia are vampires?)
(I can't believe it.)
With disbelief flooding my mind, I recalled the way they acted and suddenly realized something.
(Come to think of it, both of them complained of thirst.)
(Were they craving blood?)
(Then, did they drink the blood from corpses to quench their thirst?)
Connecting the dots, speculation began to form in my mind, but I abruptly cut off that thought.
(The issue isn't whether Miguel and Mireia are vampires.)
(What will happen to the two of them after being caught by the residents?)
(Will they turn them over to the police, or...?)
Recalling the men's curious tone, I became anxious about their safety.
(I can't just leave those little kids alone.)
I turned back towards the slums, intending to search for Miguel and Mireia.
At that moment, I accidentally bumped into someone coming towards me.
Mitsuki: "Sorry一Galileo!?"
Surprised by his calm demeanor, Galileo looked down at me silently.
Galileo: “What are you doing here?”
Mitsuki: “I got permission from Drake to go out. No, that’s not important right now! Something serious is happening!”
Mitsuki: “The boy we met in town seems to have been caught by the people in the slums.”
Galileo: “The boy with the curly blond hair?”
Mitsuki: “Yes. He might be a vampire.”
Galileo: “So what?”
(What?)
Galileo’s reaction was so indifferent that I hesitated for a moment.
Mitsuki: “We have to go help him!”
Galileo: “Then do as you please. It’s none of my business.”
Mitsuki: “Why would you say that?”
Galileo: “I knew the boy was a vampire when we met.”
(What?)
Galileo: “Dhampirs can sense the presence of vampires.”
Galileo: “The boy probably noticed my presence as well, but that’s all.”
He spoke in a matter-of-fact tone.
Mitsuki: “If you knew, why didn’t you do anything to help him?”
I blurted out without thinking, immediately chastising myself internally.
(It's unreasonable and selfish to expect others to act according to my ideals.)
Even though I understood that, there was one thing that bothered me.
Mitsuki: "Did you not help him because he's not a Dhampir?"
Galileo: "........"
(Does he really not care about anyone who isn't a dhampir?)
Even as I questioned him, he didn't change his expression.
Galileo: "To me, it was just another vampire caught in the city."
(......)
He uttered this with a sharp, icy coldness.
Mitsuki: "Are you serious? What about how Miguel and Mireia must be feeling right now?"
Galileo: "If they hunted them down here, then it's fate."
Galileo: "I've said it before. It's presumptuous for someone as powerless as you to think they can help anyone."
(Powerless...)
That word stung me deeply.
As he said, I was powerless.
Even when I traveled back in time, I couldn't save the dhampirs, but...
Mitsuki: "Even if I'm powerless, I can't just stand by and do nothing!"
Galileo: "........"
Mitsuki: "Even if I can't change what happened in the past, I might be able to make a difference now."
Mitsuki: "I don't want to give up!"
With those words to spur me on, I rushed towards the slums without knowing what he thought.
Just as Galileo watched Mitsuki's figure grow smaller, a figure approached.
Drake: "She's quite strong-willed to confront you like that, huh? Maybe she really is the woman of destiny?"
Galileo: "Drake, were you watching over that girl?"
Drake: "Well, sort of. And you?"
Galileo: "I was observing the movements of the vampire hunters. It seems some of them headed towards the slums."
Drake: "So what's going to happen to those vampire kids who got caught?"
The fate awaiting them was easy to imagine.
Drake: "If she jumps into that mess to protect those vampires, she might be in danger, you know?"
Drake: "She might end up being seen as one of them."
As he spoke, Drake gestured across his throat with his thumb.
Still, Galileo remained unfazed.
Galileo: "But if that girl truly has the power to influence fate, then the future is uncertain."
Galileo: "Her actions could move historical figures and alter the course of destiny, even in this situation."
Galileo: "On the other hand, if she were to die here, it would simply mean she wasn't the woman of fate."
Drake: "So you're willing to abandon Mitsuki and those vampire kids just to test that? Is that it?"
Galileo: "........"
Drake's blunt question prompted a momentary flicker in Galileo's eyes.
Galileo: "It's a trivial matter. Regardless of the sacrifices made here, my purpose remains unchanged."
Galileo: "I cannot afford to lose sight of the bigger picture."
Drake: "........"
With firm resolve, Galileo muttered.
His stubbornness seemed like a warning to himself, but Drake didn't press further, simply nodding in acknowledgment.
Drake: "If that's what you want, I won't say anything."
Galileo: "......."
Galileo stepped in Mitsuki's direction, intending to witness everything.
Galileo: "Let's make this the final observation of what fate Mitsuki will bring."

Sing Me A Melody ch. 19 (A BakuDeku Omegaverse Au)
Chapter 19: A Mother's Hatred
Dinner went as well as Izuku expected with Katsuki's mother glaring daggers at him from across the table. He did his best to ignore her, eating small nibbles but making sure that Eri was eating but also keeping herself clean.
But never once did he not feel those harsh red eyes on him.
The others tried acting normally as possible. They kept conversations going, talking about the upcoming show and what they were planning.
As they finished up their meal Izuku started collecting plates and head to the kitchen. He needed a break from that woman.
He let out a breath slowly as he started to wash them, hearing someone step into the room with him. From the brief spicy scent with perfume he knew that it was Katsuki's mother.
He closed his eyes, swallowing the panic that was starting to settle in.
“What do you think you're doing?” she asked.
“Cleaning dishes,” Izuku said, not taking his eyes of the soapy dish that he was trying to scrub clean. “Just thought it was the right thing to do since you have made this delicious meal for us.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere,” Mitsuki stated bluntly. Izuku nearly dropped the dish and he set the plate in the drying rack, turning off the water.
“Why do you hate me so much?” Izuku asked. “I just met you.”
Though he already knew that answer. It was more than obvious to even the most oblivous person.
“Because you are no better than that woman,” Mitsuki siad. “You are just like her, filling my son's head with all this nonsense and just looking out for his money. Well I won't let it happen again. I won't let you baby trap my son again.”
Izuku's eyes widened. She knew. She knew he was going to have a pup. It had to be his scent. He was nowhere near to the point where he would be showing yet.
“I love your son,” Izuku said. “I don't care about his money. I don't care about his fame. All I care about his happiness. That should be enough for you.”
Mitsuki let out a harsh laugh, crossing her arms. It reminded Izuku too much of his alpha.
“Please. You sound just like her. She said the same stuff to us and then took off with Katsuki's daughter and so much of his money. You'll do the same thing as her once that pup pops out of your belly.”
Izuku clenched his fists, tears welling up in his eyes. Why did she not believe him? Sure the past of Katsuki with mates wasn't great but she didn't even know how.
“I-”
“You're pregnant?” came Katsuki's voice. Izuku turned teary eyes to the alpha, panic hammering in his chest. This wasn't how he wanted him to find out.
“Y-yes, I'm pregnant,” Izuku said to him, turning to the alpha. “I-”
“See Katsuki? Just like that other omega. He kept this information from you and when you tire of him he's gong to baby trap you just like she did.”
“No! I would never do that!” Izuku yelped, tears running freely down her cheeks.
Katsuki's eyes hardened a little bit. “You told me you couldn't have kids though. That you were barren.”
Izuku coudn't believe this. Katsuki was taking her side?! Had everything they had been through been for nothing?!
“It was all him, not me,” he said, pleading wth Katsuki but he still had that hard look on his face. With a sob Izuku threw the towel down that he had and ran for the door.
He burst out into the afternoon air, coming to sit down on the curb.
He sobbed softly, shaking. What did he do now? He didn't have anywhere else to go and now he had a pup that he had to raise on his own.
*
Mina's eyes followed Izuku out the door. She felt a sinking feeling come to her stomach but then anger overwhelemed her.
She respected Mrs. Bakugou but even she could make mistakes. And the fact that she had hurt someone so sweet and nice was over the line.
And then there was Katsuki who turned his back on him despite everything that they had previously talked about.
And the others were too timid to call them both out on their gabage.
She stormed to the kitchen, shoving Katsuki. He stumbled a bit and scowled.
“What's wrong with you?” she asked. “This should be fantastic news. You said you wanted a family with him. Fate just literally gave you a way to have that family with him.”
“He told me he couldn't have kids,” he said with a bite but the realization was started to set in. “He lied to me.”
“He didn't know!” Mina cried. “He just found out about this and was trying to find a way to tell you about it.”
“Then why did he wait and tell you?!”
“Because he was afraid of this very thing,” Mina cried and then glared at Mitsuki. “And you.”
“Don't you start,” Mitsuki stated. “Hes no different than Amako.”
“No, you listen,” Mina said with a firm tone. She knew she could be burning bridges but she didn't care. Izuku was her friend and she would protect him. Her hands were shaking but she knew she had to make this stand for Iuzku when he couldn't.
“He is nothing like that witch,” Mina said. “He doesn't care about the money or the fame. He loves your son with everything he has. He even took the roll of a mother for his daughter he had with someone else and was always accepting of everyone with open arms.”
Mitsuki glared at her but kept quiet. Katsuki's eyes widened at the thought of his mistake and he swallowed a little bit realizing his mistake.
“All he wants to do is make your son happy and try to make a good impression. You don't even know him,” Mina said heading towards the door of the house. Katsuki followed but Mina held up a hand to him.
“Not now,” she said softly. “You're proabbly the last person he wantes to see right now.”
Katsuki sighed softly and nodded. She was right. He had been terrible to his mate and he should have known better.
Mina let out a small sigh and stepped outsde to go talk to Izuku.
*
Izuku sat on the side of the road on the side walk, hugging his knees close and sobbed softly into his knees.
He didn't have anywhere else to go. He didn't have a home to get home to. Maybe when he calmed down he could just grab his things and just move in somewhere.
He heard footsteps approaching and he peeked his head up as he looked up at Mina. Her eyes softened and she sat down next to him, wrapping her arms around him.
“Hey,” she said softly. “It'll be okay.”
Izuku sobbed softly as he clung to his friend. He had one person. One person would believe him and would be there for him and his unborn pup.
“What do I do?” he asked after he pulled back a bit, wiping his eyes as best as he could. He was so tired of crying that day he felt so exhausted.
“You can stay with me,” she offered. “Until we figure out what to do. Honestly...Katsuki looks like he made the biggest mistake of his life.”
That made him feel a little better Katsuki realized what he had done to him. But that cold stare would be hard to not forget.
“I would like that...thank you,” he said softly.
She smiled softly at that and rubbed his shoulder. Izuku smiled until Mina let out a gasp and slumped onto his shoulder.
“Mina?” Izuku asked in a panic, shaking her but then looked around going pale when he saw what had happened.
He had been so caught up in his emotions he hadn't seen the hooded fiure apporaching the two of them And in his hand was a gun.
A dart sat on Min'as neck which meant she was taken down with that.
“Of all places for you to scurry off to, you still end up going back to where you first started everything huh,” came a familiar gravely voice.
The man leaned back a bit and Izuku saw the fmailiar piercings and tattoos.
Touya.
“What do you want,” he said, yanking the dart from Min'as neck and shook her. “Mina wake up. Please wake up.”
“Oh you know what I want,” he said as he approached, a car coming up behind him. He had someone working with him now?
“I told you I wanted nothing to do with you. And he pupped me. I'm useless to you,” Izuku said. The man appraoched and pressed the gun to his head. Izuku's heart pounded hard in his chest.
“You will always be mine Izuku. No matter what mark or pup inside you means. Now...if you don't want me to paint the street with her, I suggest you come with me,” Touya stated with a growl.
The othe person got out of the car, a girl with blonde hair and pigtail buns. She grabbed Mina, heading into the car and plopped her down.
Touya grabbed Izuku's arm and pulled him up. Izuku let out a yelp and started to struggle. He had to get away. For his sake, Mina's and the sake of his child.
He had to get away! “Let me go!” Izuku cried out.
He heard the font door open.
“Hey!” Katsuki roared out, running towards them. But Izuku was thrown into the car and Touya climbed in, the car speeding away.
Izuku helplessly stared out the window.
Katsuki chased after the car, panic in his eyes.
Izuku was kidnapped. And so was Mina!
The others poked their heads out as Katsuki came running back to the house, feeling like he was going to be sick. He had to do something!
“Call the police,” he barked at his mother.
“Why would I-”
“Do it HAG,” Katsuki growled at her. “That is my mate and one of my best friends. Call the police before it's too late. They've been taken.”
Kirishima went white as a sheet and looked at to where the car had driven away.
Katsuki wrote down the car type and the liscence plate number, shaking his head.
He would find whoever had done this. He would make sure he found them and he would take them out for touching his family.
And he could think of one person that would do such a thing. It made him angry to his core that this alpha had reared his ugly head again.
And this time brought help and brought more than one person to be involved in it.
He knew he should have pressed charges when they had last met in the hospital.
His mother was on the phone with the cops soon enough, talking with them about what had happened. Katsuki wanted to take back the last hour.
He wanted to redo things and make sure that Izuku wasn't upset.
Then maybe he would be safe now.

Chapter 12 - Poison Kiss
Two days passed since Aiko died, and two days went by abnormally slow for the Lord of Owari, as he took care of a feverish Kat, who was in dire need of healing and much rest. Nobunaga hated the way her cheeks were flush, not from him flustering her, but from the internal heat she was feeling. The sweat on her forehead and the way she every so often found herself unconsciously clawing at her throat, suffocating, despite wearing undergarments alone. She called them 'Shorts' and 'Tank top', but for Nobunaga, those words had no Sengoku equivalent. She said Summers were so hot that people would wear them day in and day out, outside. Peculiar and preposterous indecency, yet if the social norms and fashion allow for it, it only means society has become far more lax and tolerable. Considering there were no more rich kimonos, silks and cloud brocades worn on a daily basis, simplicity and elegance took over opulence and wealth.
Despite all this, Nobunaga loved the way Kat looked wearing the outfits given to her. She looked so beautiful in everything. He wanted to see her wearing a wedding kimono again, this time, to actually marry him, and he wanted to have her wear noble outfits whenever she would expose herself to the public, shining with her benevolent radiance and fairness. He didn't want to hear any more slander addressed to her. He didn't care if the people spoke ill of him, of his drastic, cruel measures and iron fist, nor does he care that he is called a demon. He even embraces that title. But for someone like her, who sacrificed her health so selflessly to save many others. What did Mochizuki do, in the few weeks staying there? Distribute some coins for the children and embraced the maids with some empty words. The common folk were ridiculous and uneducated.
Katrina was different from every woman in this country. So courageous and intelligent, thirsty for knowledge and willing to go to the depths of the world for some. She was even willing to let him marry another, despite her own heart ache. She was willing to return to her times, to the nothingness she possessed, just to give him space. Silly girl. He didn't need space, he needed you.
Two days, and Katrina was already doing much better, and it was time to leave for Yorimasa's residence. Hideyoshi was to bring over ten thousand troops to his home. Before they departed, however, Nobunaga had the woman talking to a man. He looked youthful, probably around his age, and he had a matchlock rifle on his back. He was smiling warmly at them, and bowed. "Katrina, this is Akeru, the new village chief I have chosen." Nobunaga spoke - For a brief second, Kat wanted to extend her arm and shake his hand, but remembered her old school coourtesies, and merely nodded at him.
"It is good meeting you, Akeru. I hope you will be a more competent leader than the previous one." she gave him a wry smile.
"Worry not, Princess. The people have chosen me. I will do everything in my power to pay them back for their kindness." he seemed sincere, Kat thought. "Princess, I must also thank you for the kindness you showed my sister." the woman raised a confused eyebrow. "I am Lady Mitsuki's elder brother. Tsuki was always a frail child. The doctors always warned her against having a child, but that monster forced her to conceive an heir." he seemed shattered by his sister's death. "I will take care of the child as if he is mine own. I only hope, once you come to rule the country, that people will understand that an heir is not above a woman's life. My sister meant everything to me. Our parents died when I was still young, and it was her who took care of me. I owed her my life, yet I failed to protect her from that awful beast of a man. I pray this won't happen again." he bowed deeply to the Princess.
"Please do not thank me. Lady Mitsuki asked me to kill her to save her child. She was already very weak, but it does not take away from the fact that it was me who wielded the knife, and me who was painted with her blood... But a child should not suffer from the sins of their relatives." she had him straighten up immediately.
"Your Grace, you are too kind. You will be a fantastic ruler. Please accept this gift, a thank you for curing our home of the plague. It is a matchlock from the West, but I am a trained blacksmith and have modified it, to be lighter and easier to maneuver for a woman." the man bowed, exposing the rifle to her.
"I..." Kat's eyes were wife with shock and flatter. She looked at Nobunaga, who simply smirked cockily and nodded his hand for her to take the said weapon. "Thank you, Akeru. I promise to use it for the good of our people."
"I hope there won't come a time when you will be forced to use it, Your Grace." with the last bit of interaction, Nobunaga had Kat climb on the horse and rode away towards Yorimasa's home, where they would rest. It was close to the castle they were going to assail, and would prove the perfect rest spot.
For the longest time, neither of them spoke, and save for bickering between Masamune and Ieyasu, only the galoping of horses was heard. Evening was already approaching, they had riden for a while now, and Kat was getting tired, still not fully recovered from the sickness. "The sunset is so beautiful." Nobunaga heard the girl mutter in a soft, almost quiet voice.
"I have never stopped to admire the setting Sun before, but it is a pleasant sight." the man admitted, taking a few moments to look up at the sky and admire the ever changing colours.
"I always liked to go outside and admire the world. In my time, everything is made out of cement. Buildings are touching the skies, and they are made of bricks, glass and cement. There is barely any patch of green anymore. Only some man-made parks and planted flowers. Even the sky isn't the same. The pollution made the sky look foggier, and the stars aren't as sparkling as in here. They are so bright, embellished on the dark sky, and you can see constellations so clearly here." he remained silent, listening to her speak. "If there is one thing I love about Azuchi, is the beauty of it. When you go out of the castle, or even look out from the balcony, you see fields of grass and never ending forests. And when it is night, you don't need anything but the moon and stars to light your path. We, as humans, take everything good for granted, and forget to take a while and admire and feel happy with the beautiful things that exist around us. But when they are no more, you weep. It is only then that you realise how much you appreciated it." there was a sort of sorrowful wisdom behind those words, and unconsciously, Nobunaga's grip tightened slightly around her body, pulling her closer to his chest.
"You're far too philosophical for your own good. I guess that is why you intrigue me. Even when I think you make no sense, there is ration and logic, even for our times." he hummed, a half smile on his face. "Tell me more about your world."
"I don't want to." she said bluntly, making the man look down at her, mouth agape from surprise. "I have nothing to return to. There is great technological development, things that you cannot even imagine. People can fly on planes from one country to another, from a continent to another, in a matter of hours. We can speak to people on the other end of the world in real time, we can create music with hundreds of instruments and bring to life holograms of beasts, monsters and fantastical creatures that go beyond the limits of human creativity and imagination. We can transfer the heart of one person, to another, and have it functioning perfectly. The same with blood and any other organ. We can operate on the brain in case of any ailment and save people who have very little chance of living. If Shingen was in my time, he could have been saved... With lots of treatment and surgeries, but he could have been saved. The soldiers you cut, may be saved. We don't have smallpox anymore either, for decades now. We have robots that can do anything as well as us, and artificial intelligence that can learn chess strategies from thousands and thousands of masters, and learn how to beat them." there was a certain coldness with which she was addressing all the impressive feats that mankind were able to achieve with their minds and hands alone.
"You don't seem impressed." the man pointed out.
"I am. In an objective way only. But what is the use of all this, if you can't enjoy it? I have the money to go travel the world, but not the people. Where is the joy, if you cannot share the love and happiness with another. When you're all alone, surrounded by four walls and nothing else, you feel more like a caged bird than a human. Wake up, go to work, earn money, return late at night, eat, sleep, repeat. We get to live long - But if you're all alone, what is the purpose of a long life, if you have nothing to live for?" she asked, looking up at the darkening sky. "At least here, even if I die, I feel like I have a purpose. Like everything I have learnt so far can give me the edge needed to bring a change and help people. I'm not revolutionary, I'm not inventive enough to come up with new things on my own, but at least the things that I know, I can adapt to this world and resources and help. You would hate it." Nobunaga let out a pondering hum, processing her words. She was right, he would hate it. He wasn't a slave for others, and if he wouldn't be able to do things as he pleased, he would hate it. In fact, he might tear up the realms entirely - Though that might end up getting him killed. In a world with no war, no armies, what is the use of a general? One of his hands reached out to touch her face and made her look up at him, and he pressed a kiss on her forehead.
"It would be tragic if the one ruling the country would dislike it." he chuckled lowly against her skin. "The people see their Princess in high regard. The voice of a gossiping maid holds no value against the gratitude of the whole army... And their leader."
"You have grown remarkably mellow. What has brought upon this change to the otherwise ruthless Demon King, as I knew you as?" Kat held a playful smirk growing on her face.
"I have almost lost my lucky charm far too many times, in a short time span. I want the extra luck and morale you bring along to win the war and unify the country." though he did not say that he was afraid of losing her, he was not afraid to allude to it, and by the amused expression, she could read well behind the lines.
"Just say that you love me and don't want to lose me. It's not like the feeling isn't reciprocated." she let out a regale exhale, only for the man to scoff and look away.
"I will indulge you no further." though the kiss he received on the corner of his mouth had him more smug than ever,
When the Sun had set and the Moon was risen, they arrived at Yorimasa's home, where Hideyoshi was already there with the troops. There were tons of humble pleasantries from the man as he welcomed them inside his residence. Though, of course, there was no home big enough to host every single soldier brought, the hospitalities were just as grand for them also, but outside. Every person there was greeted with at least four different dishes and different kinds of drinks - And the host was bowing and apologising to them all for not being able to provide more. Katrina was the only one standing next to the Lord of Owari, and she smiled warmly at the man - Was that how all vassals felt when doing favours for their superiors?
"Lord Yorimasa, please, there is no need to be humble anymore. You have aided us greatly just by welcoming us into your home, even more, feeding us all plenty. We are in your debt... I do not know if people in Owari do this, but back home, we would have a toast for different occasions. Now, I say we raise a toast for out kind host, Yorimasa." Kat poured some sake for Nobunaga, before standing up and rose her sake cup. "Cheers for Lord Yorimasa!" she was the first one to take a rather large sip from the alcohol, but had to stop herself from spitting it out. It was strong and with not the best taste. She always preferred sweeter drinks, and--...
"Katrina?" Nobunaga called, watching the sake cup fall from her hands, and break loudly.
"DON'T DRINK THE SAKE!" the girl screamed loudly, bolting for the door, to yell the same thing for the people outside. Nobunaga frowned and shot up to his feet, calling for the same thing - But many of his people had already drank the sake. He watched the red head's body collapse to the floor. The others seemed light-headed and dizzy, yet none had fallen yet. Katrina's health was overall inferior to everyone else's, especially war-hardened warriors like them who live in harsh conditions and thrive. It was expected for her to fall first, but not like this.
"Come on, let it out already." Nobunaga had dragged her barely conscious body outside and opened her mouth, sticking two fingers deep inside, forcing her to release the contents of her stomach, and with that, the poison laced with the drink. One look outside was enough to make him realise that the soldiers who had no room inside had started drinking and eating faster than them, thus, the toxin acted faster, for they were in a bad condition. "Ieyasu, I need you working on an antidote fast. Masamune gather up Yorimasa and the others. Hideyoshi, take care of Katrina." the three Lord all nodded their heads and got to their respective duties.
As expected, the easiest job was that of the cyclops, who aided by Nobunaga, gathered and interrogated the culprits. Greed had eaten away at Yorimasa, and despite his loyal family and ancestors, he had sold the Lord of Owari... To Kennyo the Abbot, of all people. The demon in monk's clothing. The one that Katrina was warned about by Kenshin's own ninja. How ironic. The brunet felt no mercy instilling his cruel sense of justice onto the traitors - After all, nobody could ever trust a traitor, and death was but a blessing for sinners. They deserved to be tortured to death. Katrina would understand. She wouldn't be mad. They had attempted to end her life, as well as his, her friends and everyone that she worked so hard to take care of. Like a mother caring for her children, and a lord protecting his people, sometimes you needed to inflict the absolute punishment, to ensure the well-being of your kin. This was no different. Leaving a betrayer alive could compromise his plans of unifying the country, maybe even have him lose his own head. He was not going to make any misstep.
Ieyasu looked down at the antidote he was concocting, and he found his own mind lingering at the red head. Over the days she spent at the castle, they had grown closer, bonding over their love for medicine and unquenchable thirst for infinite knowledge and skills. What kind of new and possibly even useless bit of trivia would Kat say now? Something about how pretty the plant used was, maybe? Or that she had never seen it, in her own world. Maybe even what modern, chemical equivalent she would use in the future. He was usually fascinated with the physician knowledge she had, and was quick to experiment and try innovative means of bettering their medicine, with even the aid of the Western Barbarian techniques that she was so skilled in. He was sure even Masamune would be curious enough to try his hand at it, but that useless one-eyed oni would better not touch a needle, he'd be completely incapable of sewing something as delicate as a would, with those large, calloused hands of his. Better leave this for the one who can embroider like no other. He needed to keep Katrina alive and in a great form.. After all, who else would know even better than him how to take care of Wasabi? ... Maybe even Shogetsu.
Then, there was Hideyoshi, who looked down at the sweating girl underneath the blanket, and continued to wipe away at her forehead. Her face seemed twisted, in pain. Even asleep, she wasn't feeling well. His mind went to his beloved Nene, and his jaw clenched in anger. Were anyone to attempt to hurt his treasured wife, he would wreak havoc, the same way Lord Nobunaga was at the moment. He hadn't seen the man so livid in a long time. Usually, his anger was cold, freezing, like the harshest winters. Now, he was burning and boiling, like the thief Goemon and his son were boiled alive in front of the public, for attempting to assassinate him. He remembers that one time when Nene had fallen ill after a miscarriage, and he was left to care for her, not wanting anyone else to stay around her. He was distraught, and so afraid... So afraid that she might perish before his very eyes. Life was so frail. Life was so fickle. Nature gives, and Nature takes. Hideyoshi would give his own life, and sell his soul to the devil, all to ensure Nene lives. Nobunaga was different. Nobunaga would kill the devil, go to the underworld, rescue Katrina's soul and bring it back to her body, so she could live. He was a real leader, fit to rule the unified Japan. Hideyoshi often disagreed with the woman's tactics, finding them too tricksy, just like Mitsuhide - In fact, they were so annoyingly alike in so many ways, that there were rumours of her being a Kitsune, sent to seduce the Lord. He only wanted to dispell the rumours from both Fox-like people... But it seemed they were more than content with being seen as morally ambiguous. Everyone knew Mitsuhide would disappear... And everyone now knew that Katrina was favoured by Takeda Shingen himself. What in the world were these two doing to make them seem so untrustworthy, while also being loyal to the core? Someone so unbendable like himself would never be able to understand malleable ones like these two.
"I'll take it from here. Go to Nobunaga." the door opened, and Ieyasu stepped inside, holding the antidote into a cup. He waited until the vassal got up, for him to take his place on the ground, next to the woman. "Hope you do a better job at calming him than that cyclops."
"You were very fast with the antidote, Ieyasu. Thank you. In the name of our troops." Ieyasu simply waved his hand dismissively.
"I just learnt a new trick or two... From the future." he muttered the last part, holding Kat's head raised with one hand, and pouring the antidote into her mouth. With one last look, Hideyoshi left the room, leaving only Tokugawa to tend to the red head's health. Thankfully, she was doing far better than before, and it took few hours for her to awaken, though her mind was still slightly foggy. Almost similar to the feverish vertigo and weakness experienced during the previous illness.
"Nobunaga...?" Kat struggled to open her eyes and see who it was tending to her, but that bratty scoff quickly made her realise her mistake, and in place, a small smile appeared. "Ieyasu. Forgive me."
"What have you done that you wish for my forgiveness?" he asked lightly, not wanting to give her a headache.
"I have left you alone to create an antidote and care for everyone affected by the poison." she sighed softly. "Help me get up, I will aid you now." but contrary to her request, the man only pushed her back on the futon.
"I don't want Nobunaga to have my head for not taking proper care of you. Besides, it is already done. After Masamune helped him with the culprits, he went to care for the soldiers. Thanks to your little show, we got to everyone in time. A bunch of us are fine, but most of the guys outside who started eating got hit with it." he explained, patting her head as if she was a child.
"The food too? Was it a slow-acting toxin?" she asked, taking his hand away and struggling to get in a sitting position. She didn't find it comfortable, speaking to someone as she was laying down. She wasn't sleeping. She was awake.
"Yes. I was able to analyse what the toxin was made of and easily made an antidote. Thankfully, it was a rather ordinary poison, so nobody is in bad shape, but it is going to take a day or two before everyone is ready to move again. We stuck here until then." he spoke casually, though Kat could see the worry in his eyes.
"Thank you for saving my life, Ieyasu. Mine, and everyone else's. You are really amazing." the blond looked down and shook his head.
"Thank Lord Nobunaga instead, who got you to regurgitate the toxin after you passed out. Though, I suppose, if it wasn't for you realising so quickly, we might have had more casualties." Ieyasu's cheeks were flushed from embarrassment. He did not like receiving the thanks and gratitude from others.
"... Was it Yorimasa?" the man nodded at her. "How ironic. I asked for a toast, in the name of the man who poisoned us. Like truly is ridiculous." she scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Who did he sell us to? Was it Shingen?"
"It was Kennyo." Ieyasu was holding the cup with the pestle on it. "He's the one who bribed the Daimyo. "
"...How is the head abbot of a burnt temple rich enough to bribe a Daimyo, of all people, with wealth to sell someone actually rich like Nobunaga?" Kat raised her eyebrow in surprise, but the shake of his head meant that he had no idea, nor was the answer going to be found. "Is there anything I can do to help? I can't just sit here all day and do nothing while the troops are in need of help."
"They don't need any kind of assistance at the moment. Just like you, drinking the antidote was enough to cure them, but they must sleep away the symptoms. Two days at most, we are delayed from our march. If you want to help in some way, get some sleep, rest, and get better. Until we figure out what the next step is, at least... Maybe some silly, fresh insight might help, even if it is from someone mostly clueless such as yourself." he explained, raising his hand to pat her hair.
"Alright, I understand. Thank you, Ieyasu. Please take care of everyone, but of yourself also." she presented him with a weak smile, which he returned.
"Stop thanking me already. Take it easy and rest." he got up, leaving the room. It was awfully silent. This place was so busy, so loud, just like a beehive, but now, everything is as hollow and empty as a well. It was almost terrifying. But that silence was thankfully broken soon, as none other than Nobunaga slid the door open and sat down in front of her.
"Ieyasu told me you're awake. You're over the poison?" he asked, his voice holding an eerie kind of calm.
"Thanks to your quick wit and action, but also Ieyasu's antidote, yes, I am much better. Thank you for saving my life. Again. I suppose I really owe you, don't I?" though she tried to lighten the atmosphere, he was as solemn and pondering as never before.
"No, don't thank me." his eyes were so cold, but it was not a harshness addressed to her, but to his own tactics and strategies of which he was thinking - He was fighting hundreds of chess games at once, but he wasn't winning them all - Yet.
Kat blinked at him, scanning her eyes over his face - And she spotted a small stain of red, high on his cheek. Taking a towel, she wet the corner of it, and reached to wipe it. "You killed Yorimasa." she noted simply.
"And everyone who willingly aided him." he stated, putting his hand over hers.
"Good." she nodded her head. "No more traitors. But that does not take away from the fact that our march is incapacitated for two days. The enemy can come barging on us at any moment if they find us out... And Kennyo knows we are here. Kennyo is the one who almost killed you in the fire also. You must be very careful. He's done you more wrongs than the Uesugi-Takeda alliance put together." Nobunaga peered into her eyes. So green and beautiful. He had never seen such beautiful eyes before. Just like the forests. Just like the plants she loves so much.
Her eyes held so much life, and so much concern - All addressed to him, not for her own well being. What a fool. It was her who almost died, not him. Those beautiful eyes should only sparkle with glee. And they should only ever look at him and him alone. And her hair, it was red, unlike anything he has seen before. It was red, like the blood he would spill on the battlefield. It was the same crimson hue that Yorimasa's treacherous blood flowed to the ground. She used to tell him she doesn't like the colour much, for everytime she saw blood, it meant death. Surgeries gone wrong, deadly symptoms, people at war - An ocean of red bathed the earth, just like her hair. She said, because of her vibrant colour, pretty colours never suit her, nor the accessories of these times, as their soft, pastel-like colours pale against her shade - But he had to disagree. He loved that colour. He loved the crimson hair, and how soft it was. He loved kissing her hair and smelling the flowery fragrance embedded in it. He loved playing with locks of her hair, twirling and twisting them whenever he got bored, sometimes even braiding them absent-mindedly as he came up with strategies. Silly girl couldn't see that everything she hated about herself, he found endearing.
Most of all, he loved how she could understand everything he did, when even some of his generals couldn't. Demon King, cruel, ruthless - These were all meaningless words thrown his way. Any man with great ambitions will do anything in their power to achieve that which they desire, no matter the cost of it. Nobunaga was such a man, hence why, he could achieve what many others couldn't. Katrina did not find him cruel, nor unnecessary evil. She found him just and justified. She even told him of a ruler of her country, contemporary to him even. The Vampire King they called him, the mighty Prince of Wallachia, Vlad Tepes, the Dragon. The man who would impale his enemies and drink their blood, to instill fear and have the Ottomans too afraid to attack his small country. His rule was with an iron fist, but the people were safe and retorted to no treacheries, for they would be harshly punished for their wrong-doings. Even stealing would get them buried alive. But on the lighter note, the capital was so safe that the golden goblet left on the public fountain had never disappeared during the course of his reign, meaning there were no thieves to attempt such a feat.
"Worry for yourself more. You almost got yourself killed thrice in less than a fortnight. That is abnormal, even by our standards." he let out a huff, leaning in to kiss the inside of her wrist.
"How can I not worry about that... That thing. Even Sasuke warned me about him. The Takeda forces I can escape somehow, and Yuki is loyal to Shingen. I fear Kenshin, but out of respect for Shingen, he wouldn't kill me. But Kennyo is a fearsome foe, alone or not, and he would retort to any tactic possible to kill you. Everyone fears the unpredictable." he nodded curtly - Though he did not like that she was close to his enemy, at least she would be safe. The mere fact that she so openly spoke about meeting Shingen on few occasions meant that she was not going to betray him. He had to admit, there was intel from her that he could use. Her and Mitsuhide were important assets to the Oda force.
"You can rest for now with no fear. Get your strength back. I can't have my lucky charm almost dying a fourth time." he carefully placed a kiss on her forehead, afraid for her frail health and life.
"I... Think I need to get a breath of fresh air. I feel suffocated here." the man nodded in understanding and helped her get up, putting his haori over her shoulders.
"Don't get ill again."
As soon as she stepped outside, her face was hit with the warm breeze of the late night. It felt so good to feel the fresh air in your lungs. She even felt the fogginess disappeared from her head. She felt light, as if she was floating, like a feather in the wind. Her steps didn't feel heavy anymore, and life was surging through her veins once more.
But Katrina would learn in the worst way possible that demons lurk in the forest at night, and if you see them, you die. She shouldn't have taken the last five steps towards the trees. Or ten, maybe even fifteen. Standing by the pond should have been enough, but her absent consciousness had carried her feet in places her brain would have not guided her to. "Have you come to enjoy the moonlight, young lady?" Katrina felt herself being grabbed from behind, a strong, bandaged hand sealed shut over her mouth to stop her from crying for help. His voice was spitting venom with a haunting malice.
"This is the woman! She is the foreigner, Hasashi Katrina!" nobody had called her by her last name since she's come here. Kennyo released the hand from her face, only holding it around her cleavage, like a barrier. The man who revealed her identity was one of those who had attacked her and Nobunaga at the hot springs. It was no wonder they recognised her, red hair and all that.
"Oh? So you're the luckless woman who won the Devil's favour? How pitiable. Bad things come to those engaged with the Devil King." a dark chuckle escaped his lips.
"Yes, in fact, I almost died three times in less than two weeks. With this encounter, it goes up to four. Thing is, two of these attempts at taking my life were by your hand. I was born with terrible luck. Meeting Nobunaga did not make it worse. This is yet another day of my life, really." Kat snarked hi, seemingly bored by his existence.
"And what an oblivious, ignorant little girl you are. Do you know what it means when they call him 'The Devil King of the Sixth Heaven'? It refers to the Devil who rules over worldly desires and corrupts the human realm. A fitting name for a monster." Kennyo spat out each of the nicknames.
"Are you done spewing your fanatically religious propaganda? I always thought priests and monks were shit. You are no different. In fact, I think you're more of a monster than he is. At least he has a real goal - Yours, is to kill him, and you don't care if any other innocent people are laid to waste by your hand. You are a petty, revenge-driven old man, in an age of war, and you are willing to assassinate the man who wants to unify the country and bring peace to it. Now, if you will just unhand me already, I will leave." Kat tried to rip herself away from his grip, but the way he held onto her shoulder made her sanguine circulation stop. She was going to have bruises. If Nobunaga sees them, he would go livid.
"I see he has completely blinded and fooled you. You are a lost child. Unfortunately, I am afraid I cannot let you go, Miss. You see, Nobunaga killed one of my men, just to save you. And I heard what happened tonight when you collapsed from the poison. The Devil King held you in his arms and didn't let you go until you showed signs of life. He's a remorseless monster, a murderer driven by ambition, just as you so lightly put it, and yet, he put everything aside for a frail confection like you. Hasashi Katrina, it seems you're the Devil's one weakness. I'll be using this weakness in tonight's battle." Kennyo's words made her hair stand up on the back of her neck. Though creepy, she could only imagine how Nobunaga felt, how he was, as she lay in his arms, unresponsive. She couldn't imagine if the opposite were to happen to her, where she had to hold him, fearing that he would take his last breath in her arms at any moment. It is four times now that he would have almost given him a heart attack from causing him such extreme worry. Now she felt guilty, yet the last bit of the abbot's speech piqued her interest, yet also made her heart drop in fear.
"... A battle, you said?" she was breathless with fright.
"Look around you. Peer into the darkness." at least two hundred people were lurking in the shadows, covered by dark robes that camouflaged them so well. The sect of warrior monks was truly a frightening sight, and worthy opponents to face... But not for her. Nobody knew they were going to attack. If Nobunaga had any idea Kennyo himself would be around, he wouldn't have let her get out of the house by herself, let alone stroll so leisurely. "I didn't think the poison was enough to truly stop him and his men - But it was never meant to. That is why, you won't escape. I intend to lead you out before Nobunaga, torture you for a time, then kill you before his eyes. Oda Nobunaga killed my brethren, men and women, young and old. He drove them out with fire and cut them all down like insects. The only reason I'm still alive, young lady, is to make Nobunaga apologise from the depths of his heart, and to witness the moment his face contorts in utter agony. I will soon be neither man nor monk, but a demon. Though I have no qualms with you. I can only beg for your forgiveness in what I have to do." Kat couldn't care less that this fucker held remorse in his eyes -
The mere fact that he was going to torture her to death before Nobunaga was enough to ignite a fire in her heart, hot enough to cremate all the forests of the world. This man was going to pay for everything. She even wanted to run away and find Shingen, just to have him use all his troops and destroy this crazy abbot once and for all... Though none of that fantasy was going to happen, obviously. She had to escape and alert the allies, and fast. Kat looked down at her feet, thinking about her escape plan, and shifting a bit, she took off her sandals - She couldn't possibly sprint well in them - Although, with the many pebbles and rocks around, running barefoot might hurt... A lot.
"... You have at least a hundred men here. Even if I try to escape, you'd catch me. But maybe I can bribe my way into not getting killed, if I tell you information on Nobunaga and his force. I even know one of his weak points. I'm the only one who knows it. Nobunaga has me in his room a lot, especially when he's devising strategies. He play Go and has me as his opponent, explaining his moves to me." her story seemed compelling, and in a way, she wasn't even lying to Kennyo. But the Monk's arm went lax for a mere second, shocked at the notion of gaining more information on his arch enemy's weaknesses - But it only took that mere moment of unattentiveness for Kat to take out the scalpel she always has in her sleeve and stab it down onto his hand for him to let go, and she took off running as fast as her legs would carry her.
She felt no pain, only the adrenaline ringing into her ears, and the heavy sounds of running footsteps chasing her down like a dog on a fox hunt. "YOU VIXEN!" she had heard Kennyo yell at her - Yes, Vixen, what a fitting nickname for a Kitsune such as herself. "IT'S KENNYO! HE'S HERE! HE'S GOT AN ARMY!" she screamed as loud as she could as soon as she noticed the guards - But she continued running.
The two men who had attacked her at the onsen were hot on her trail, so close, that she feared those naginatas dearly. "Little girl, you are not escaping again!" Kennyo's voice almost sounded demonic to her, but she forced herself to not look back, and continue running. The residence was so, so close, she would make it! She would make it! "GET BACK HERE, YOU LITTLE WENCH!" he was so close now, she was afraid he could reach his hand and grab her by the back of her disheveled kimono - But in her field of vision, the knight in shining armor, running on his dark horse had arrived.
"KAT!" she heard Nobunaga's voice call out her name. Stern, worried, afraid. He slashed through the two men like a breeze, and he stopped his horse abruptly, killing some more.
"My Lord, I'll handle the vanguard!" she heard Masamune's hyped up voice call out, already on a killing spree.
Kat looked back and realised she was safe. The Oda army stopped the assailants from advancing and were in an all-out war. "Fucking son of a bitch!" though she hated cursing, she was so relieved that she escaped that mad man, that she fell to the ground and started panting, taking deep breaths to regain control over her body, and most of all, heartbeat. "I can't believe I made it. I hate running so much." she didn't even realise that the Lord was there - Instead, she was talking to herself, in an attempt to pacify herself.
"Did he hurt you?" he got off his horse, towering over her. Kat shook her head.
"Narrow escape, but I'm unharmed. That fucker called you a monster, but you have no idea how foul he is. He's a mad man!" she suddenly felt herself being tightly embraced by him.
"What was in your head, straying so far away from the manor?" he muttered into her ear. His body was trembling softly.
"Nothing." Kat admitted, holding onto him. "I felt so at peace being out that I didn't realise how far I have gone, until Kennyo caught me. He showed me his army... At least two hundred men, hidden in the forest. He... He said that..." she gulped her grip on him strengthening. "He wanted to get revenge on you by torturing me to death in front of you." though she barely had any power to admit, she needed to tell him the abbot's twisted plan. "Forgive me. He knows what happened with the poison. With how you took care of me. I have become your weakness, in the eyes of your enemies. Forgive me." but Nobunaga let go, and cupped her face.
"You're fine now." he almost seemed afraid of speaking, but he did not let go of her body, as if afraid she was going to disappear, like smoke through his fingers.
She wished she could say anything, or properly reassure him - He seemed to fragile, so vulnerable, despite his mighty equestrian entry - But the poisoned vassals all poured up from inside the mansion, willing to fight, not listening to a word that Ieyasu, who was taking care of them, was saying. "I'll handle them. Go catch that weasel and skin him alive." she smiled encouragingly at him, walking in front of the frantic vassals. "If you want to help Lord Nobunaga with anything, get back inside and rest your bodies! Regain your strength! Should you fall now, there will be no next time! We need you strong when it matters most! You will help with nothing if you fall pray to the poison, or to some of those pesky monks! The real war is against the Uesugi-Takeda alliance!" Kat's tone was strong - Nobunaga smirked with pride looking at her, regaining her voice. Fit for a ruler. Ieyasu, too, was in awe, seeing them listen to the Princess, although reluctant. "The only fight you should be worried about is the one within your bodies. Fight the poison! Fight the toxin! And if you want to watch Lord Nobunaga fight, do so from inside the house! He won't die. He will be victorious, as always."
"Ieyasu, I entrust them to you. The manor is now our main camp. Protect it at all costs." the Lord ordered Tokugawa, as he rode away to fight. Kat hurried to bring all the vassals back inside the house and tend to them. When the two were done medicating them, they went upstairs, to watch the fight from the balcony. This place was the lookout point, as it was easier to survey the battlefield and give orders accordingly.
"Where is he?" Kat asked, leaning halfway out of the railing of the balcony.
"Despite what he said, Nobunaga's at a serious disadvantage. Kat, you need to be ready. I'm going to stay and protect the men until the bitter end, but if it gets bad, you need to get on a horse and ride out far and fast." he instructed, binding some kind of scroll. Kat turned to look at him - He stopped moving, stunned under her cold peer. She had the same look in her eyes as Nobunaga. The very same cold, empty void. Unpredictable. Terrifying. Cruel.
"Who do you take me for, Tokugawa Ieyasu?" she asked - Even her voice was frozen - It shook even the stoic Lord, his eyes wide like cherry pie as he looked at her. Perhaps it was who she is, or maybe the long stay around the Oda Lord... but she resembled her in more ways than he'd like to admit. "I promised Nobunaga I will rule the unified Japan with him. Do you think I can do that if I run away? Or let him die? Do you take me for some kind of coward who will allow her country and people to die, fleeing in the face of aversion?" she asked, pressuring him. "I may be from the future, but I have learnt an important lesson... From Masamune, of all people. He taught me to live. Being alive doesn't necessarily equal living - Truly, living. I will do whatever I want. If I fall today, it was for the cause that I have chosen to aid. People die all the time, sometimes from the stupidest of reasons. But here, I can pick and choose my path. My life. THIS is my life. I am the Princess of Owari. I am Hasashi Katrina, and I will not run away. Do you understand, Ieyasu?"
"I see. Even someone like you can be terrifying. The cyclops is an awful influence on you... But you have my respect. You're not as weak as I thought." Ieyasu smiled, covering his mouth slightly with his scarf.
"That implies that you think I am weak. I stabbed Kennyo with my scalpel. I can slit your throat and kill you on the spot. Remember the demonstration? I am appalled that you thought me weak." she took the scalpel from inside her sleeve, revealing the stain of blood still there, on the blade.
"I was wrong. Forgive me... Kat." from outside, a familiar voice started threatening Kennyo. Hideyoshi had left after taking care of her, to meet up with Mitsunari it seems, and now, they have finally led the troops where they were needed.
"Mitsunari! Hideyoshi!" she grinned widely, feeling relief seeing the large army - All of them, their allies. "This was lucky."
Nobunaga's command echoed loudly into the night and the troops rallied behind him with renewed spirit. As expected, this night had marked yet another victory for the Oda forces, while Kennyo's army was rounded up and imprisoned just outside of the town. Kat and Ieyasu helped treat the injured until the Sun has risen once more and there was nothing more for them to do, except rest and wait. With a heavy heart, she went to her room, but couldn't help but look outside, at the sky. She always thought the sunset was prettier... But the sunrise also had its own charm.
"Katrina." the sliding door had opened and closed, and inside stepped Nobunaga. He looked exhausted, but she couldn't help but admire the way he looked. So strong, so beautiful, wearing that armor... And the Oda quince flower sigil was a perfect fit for him... Surviving hardships in life and overcoming them. Very fitting.
"Are you hurt?" without realising, Kat mimicked the same question he had asked her that night - She tried to shoot up to her feet, but was unable to. The man had fallen on his knees, and embraced her. Tightly, as never before, not even during the night that Mochizuki almost killed her. Back then, he was afraid of causing her pain. Now, he wanted to hold her so tightly that she suffocated in his arms. If he let go, she might dissipate before his very eyes.
"I thought you were going to die from that poison, and now, you go into the forest and nearly get killed before my eyes. What were you thinking?!" his fingers were digging deep into the thin fabric of her kimono. She had never seen any person as forward yet completely clueless with the way he felt, nor has she seen anyone so honest and desperate from fright.
"Forgive me, Nobunaga. I let my body seek its peace, while my brain was sleeping. It was thoughtless and stupid. Forgive me for worrying you." the man tsked, frowning, angry at himself.
"I don't understand. I don't understand. I don't... Understand why I feel this way." his voice had wavered. "I will forgive you, only if you give me something in return."
"Anything you ask for, I shall give." Kat felt herself being pushed back onto the futon, her already disheveled kimono, now even more so.
"Those are dangerous things to say to a man, especially coming from someone like you." his face was so close to her own that she could feel his hot breath on her face. Her heart was beating so fast, and she was barely stopping herself from throwing her arms around his neck and pulling him into a kiss, never to let go. "Katrina." he spoke her name, towering over her as he sat on her waist. He opened the front of her kimono wide enough to reveal half of her chest. Though she was feeling heat gather in her cheeks, she did not react in any way. She was mesmerised and enchanted by each move the man made. "I claim this." he said, his hand was placed gingerly over the spot where her heart was. His hand... It was so large, especially compared to her own. Was he feeling the way her heart was beating so erratically? All for him? "As of tonight, your heart belongs to me. You're not allowed to die. I won't allow it." he declared strongly.
"I promised to stay by your side through it all. I can't give up half-way through." she reached one of her hands to caress his beautiful face. "I promise to stay alive - To stay by your side and support you through your quest - And even beyond that."
"Good." he grunted. "There's no reason why. I just need this. I can't rest without it." he admitted. " When I saw you about to be attacked, I shouted your name without thinking. I... I can't... Bear the thought of you dying. I've never felt... This way before. The thought of one life disappearing has never been so painful to me. Not my parents, my siblings, friends or wives or brothers in arms. No one - But you." the man watched her smile grow ever more.
"I have never felt my heart beating before. I thought it dead. You have revived it. It is all yours. In fact..." slowly, Kat rose, pushing the man back into a sitting position, as she carefully, yet swiftly undone the strings and belts holding his armor, until he was as bare as she was - And glued her chest to his own. "I have promised you my heart, but I am selfish, and I am greedy. I want to be the one to hold your heart. I want to be the one to whom you promise not to die. I want to protect you." Kat wasn't sure if it was her own beating she was feeling, or his own, but it was strong, and it was fast and restless.
"Hah. You're one strange woman, Kat." one of his hands reached to caress her face.
"I have been called that before." she smirked. "But the truth is - That this the first time I ever felt love for someone. You asked for my heart, and I have given you that - Yet everything is already yours. Mind, body, soul - Everything t
here is about a person. I have fallen so hard for you, that I was willing to leave this place... My real home... Just so I wouldn't have to see you happy with another. I couldn't bare the thought that there was someone else instead of me that had your love. You must forgive me... I am greedy and selfish." though she asked for forgiveness, that coy smile held nothing but pure love and mischief.
"There was never another such like you, nor will there ever be. I've never felt this way before. For the sake of my ambition, I've taken hundreds of lives, and I will take countless more. I don't deserve to feel this warmth or to have these feelings - But even knowing that... I want to hold you. I want to touch you. I can't stop myself. I love you, Katrina." she has never seen such tenderness before, not such care, as she touched her body.
"You say that, you even blame yourself for your deeds, as if you hadn't the peace and betterment of the people at heart. There is no one but you who can do it. You've felt so much grief and pain that you can't express it like everyone else anymore. You bear the heavy burden on your shoulders every moment of your waking. But remember this, Nobunaga, you are not alone anymore, and you never were. When the burden is too heavy for you to carry alone anymore, I will help you carry it. I promised to stay by your side, and I intend to do just that. Whether you're an angel, or a devil, or something in between - I will always be there to support you and guide you on the right path." their fingers were now intertwined, and they looked at each other with emotions bursting. The ruthless man who has killed thousands of people for the sake of his goals, the man with a frozen heart, looked down at the woman ostracized for having no heart, for being hateful and with no capacity of feeling human emotions - They have proven each other wrong. Katrina had a beating heart, and Nobunaga's own was thawed into beating once more. To think love could be found even between the opposing time lines. There never was a love so pure and sincere.
"I've stumbled upon a truly amazing woman. I really am lucky. Katrina. I won't hold back anymore." he pulled his lover into a deep kiss - Those soft lips like petals, wet and plump - He was addicted to kissing her already, and he was afraid he might get obsessed. "I look forward to falling asleep with you in my arms every night, and waking up to your beautiful face every morning. I don't want to ever part from you. You are mine."

The Horrors You Fear CH 1 / 3
Characters: Katsuki Bakugou (MC POV), Izuku Midoriya, All for One
Warnings: Eldritch Horrors, Children Death
Summary:
There is something deeply disturbing about Izuku Midoriya. This is something Katsuki has noticed since he was small how the other seemed wrong and with a mothers whose very existence oozed misery. It just unfortunate that he ended up being the target of the other's attention and he learns those eyes belong to something that truly doesn't see him. Yet the whole world seemed to bend to his whim. He refuses to show his fear. He isn't afraid, he's going to become a hero. ...But doesn't mean the other won't teach him what true fear is. Even if all Izuku wish is they could be friends once again.
Katsuki Bakugou has been a blessing to everyone since he was born. Great quirk, loving and rich parents, good look, and intelligence there was nothing stopping him from being a hero. His life was filled with love and adoration never knowing any hardship. As even his powers were made perfectly for him just the right amount of flashy and powerful.
He's even fought kids much older than him when they think they can bully him because he is younger. His friends praised him and that made him the best, he knows he is going to become the greatest hero.
…So why is he playing nice with the weirdest kid of all? One with a mom always looks so miserable and everyone claims he has a dad that he has never seen. And the kid in question?
There is something very wrong with him.
His name is Izuku Midoriya. Being around him made Katsuki's skin crawl even as Izuku excitedly asks to play. Those green eyes staring at him with excitement despite this feeling of wrongness in them. At first Katsuki did try to ignore it but the feeling never went away and when he said something to his parents he just got scolded for some reason. Even though he can tell they see the same thing that he is, they claimed he was just imagining it.
So Izuku and his family must be hiding something but Katsuki knows better than to reveal what he knows. As it seemed no one else was willing to say anything about it, too intent in keeping the peace. It felt dangerous to ignore and he can’t just stand by and pretend he doesn’t notice something weird is going on. He just needed to figure out what it was and keep some distance between them.
Unfortunately his attempts to make Izuku back off with a nickname like Deku failed, as well as mean-spirited teasing and sometimes outright meanness didn’t work. Even though he was making it quite clear he didn’t want him around as subtle as possible he still hung out. And unfortunately he can’t refuse because of his STUPID parents!
"Ugh, do I HAVE to take him out? I already have my other friends coming with me," Katsuki huffed. He had just got his powers but his mom was still making him hang out with the weird kid with the weird mom. He doesn't even know how his mom befriended the other mom, she looks like she's close to crying half the time!
Then again that's probably why Izuku looks like he's about to cry. The big baby.
"Katsuki, you two are friends! What is with you lately you've been so fussy since you got your powers," Mitsuki huffs as she was fixing up his bug catching set. Not that he needs it, he could have caught them with his bare hands. But it was much more fun to catch them with the net anyway.
"He's weird! So is his mom she keeps looking like she wants to cry!" he shouts not too eager now that he realized something was wrong. Yes at first he was alright with Izuku as didn't mind the weirdness but now he just hates it. Someone else can be his friend! Why did it have to be him?!
He got a swat on the head for his troubles eliciting a small 'ow' as his hands rubbed his head.
"She's going through a rough time, Katsuki! Try to be more considerate," she chides as she puts sunscreen on her son ignoring his protest before trying to push him out the door. "Now go on, have fun. I got a text literally a minute ago that Izuku is outside with your friends. Inko dropped him off."
Katsuki huffs as he crosses his arms at this point pouting that he was forced to hang out with the quirkless weird kid. He guessed he could force Izuku toward the back of the line so he doesn't have to look at his face. That is one way to avoid looking at him and feeling so uncomfortable he wants to throw a fit.
As soon as his mom opened the door it was Izuku who greeted him with that bright smile. Unable to help but feel ruffled wondering why he was so overly familiar towards him.
"Kacchan!" Izuku chirps happily only to suddenly be pushed to the side by his other two NOT weird friends.
"Hey Kacchan! Let's catch all the big bugs!" They spoke excitedly, able to block Izuku from being directly in front of Katsuki. Much to the blond's relief as he always got a bit too close and now was able to breathe. His eyes sparkling with excitement as he wiggled in place as if it was time to be the leader.
"Right! I'm going to show you guys the best place to catch the bugs," he shouts with glee already having a very specific place in mind. Though of course his mom just had to be a buzz killer.
"You BETTER not go into that gated off forest. I know you've been looking at it, there's a fence for a reason! Just go to the park," Mitsuki warns as if knowing exactly what her son was thinking. He huffs wondering why she got to be like that when he knows what he is doing. He didn’t need her nagging!
"I know mom! Bye!"
As if he would listen to her when she never listens to him, she wasn't ruining his plans! Already making a beeline to the gap in the fence he had found with his mom. Though considering the circumstances once they got to the fence he immediately turned to his friend group.
"As the leader I'll be in front! I'm the one with a super awesome quirk after all! And Izuku!" he pointed at the male who looked startled. Those dumb green eyes widen as was singled out pointing to himself as Kacchan declared, "Since you don't have a quirk you are last!"
If only he had instead chosen to ditch him that day.
It started out fun enough as they entered the forest. Letting out small pops of sparks in front as he leads them around.
He will keep them safe even the weirdo as long as he doesn't complain! That is what heroes do after all!
Though one misstep and he fell right into the small stream letting out a small noise but that is it. He didn't cry, he didn't fuss, all that happened was that he got a little wet which sucked but it was a hot day. So he wasn’t too bothered as he shakes his head and goes to look up at his friends.
"You alright Kacchan!?" His friends questioned and Katsuki smiled. He had to assure them he was A-Ok after all he’s the strongest, "Obviously! It just a little-"
Suddenly there is a hand being extended toward his face as if contradicting his very words. Izuku was in the water with him staring in concern as if a small like that could have hurt him. All his other friends trusted him to be alright yet not Izuku the weirdo kid. Red eyes stared at the extended hand as Izuku tried to act like his hero.
"That was a big fall let me help," the other's voice was small and meek yet here he was extending a hand. As if desperate for some kind of validation for 'helping' when Katsuki didn't ask nor need it! In this moment he saw red as if he had just been insulted.
Of course he was mad. How dare Izuku act like he was some damsel in distress!? Katauki grits his teeth and smacks Izuku's hands away with all his strength. To make it clear he didn't want his help as he tries to get up by himself. Trying to salvage whatever pride he had left after the other embarrassed him like that.
"I didn't ask for your help!" He shouts, unable to hide his contempt for the boy who always just feels wrong. Inhuman and yet he was acting like he was some hero!? What a joke.
But the expression on Izuku's face slowly turned pale. Looking at his own hand as if Katsuki had done the unthinkable. Looking nervous the other stepped back, good! Maybe he will finally get the hint that he doesn’t want him around.
"I don't need your help, Deku! And stop looking like you're about to cry, it's embarrassing!" Katsuki shouts with a huff but the feeling of wrongness grew as his friends came down. Likely to try and back him up since they can see it was escalating but it was because Katsuki was putting distance between them.
They knew he didn't like Izuku though they tended to have no fear in how they handled him. As if they were also unaware that there was something deeply wrong with Izuku. So they were simply imitating rather than truly understanding just how dangerous he was. Today though Katsuki didn't feel like controlling the situation, the indignation made him watch without a care.
A small sniffle escaped Izuku as he pulled his hand back to his chest with such a pitiful expression. It wasn't at all what he expected. A tinge of guilt fell in the pit of his stomach but he ignored it. He should have known better than to look down on him. Katsuki was more than able to get up onto his feet just fine, he was a future hero.
"I-I just wanted to help you up Kacchan. You could have gotten hurt," Izuku whimpered softly.
As if trying to explain himself as if he had expected that it would somehow pacify him. Katsuki didn't know what to say knowing that the other probably WAS trying to help. Thankfully his actual 'friends' understood that he didn't want it as they went to tell him what for.
"What makes you think he wants help from a quirkless weirdo!?" It was making it clear though when he heard a shove and splash Katsuki tensed. Turning in horror, realizing he should have stopped them as Tsubasa had shoved Izuku. They got too violent, "No one likes you!"
It's too late. Izuku fell back onto some rock and a loud cry escaped from him. He was bleeding as the sharp edge of the rock got underneath his shirt and sliced his side. All the kids looked shocked and horrified at what had happened, but it was only a prelude to the actual horrors.
Those actions seemed to have triggered something as the whole sky turned red as an unholy screaming escaped. It wasn't the others' normal pathetic sobbing, more like a banshee wail making them back up as Izuku was holding his side. Wheezing and gasping between screams as if in absolute agony.
And for the first time. Katsuki had felt true fear erupt in his entire body as something monstrous emerged from the water around Izuku. Slowly the water turned into a black tar like substance thickening as it slowly traveled toward their legs. Katsuki could feel it, snaking and growing with malicious intent like vipers to strike.
They needed to get away.
"Run!"
Katsuki shouts as he grabs his friends to force them to start running to the stream's edge. Climbing out first he planned to help his friends out by using his strength to lift them out quickly.
He was the strongest he could pull them out and if they kept running-
There was a scream. Every hair on him was standing on end at the sounds of his friends screaming. Before he could even turn to see what had happened something grabbed his leg. Its grip was so tight it was painful making him cry out as it dragged him back into the murky waters.
It's grip tightened as it began to drag him back toward the stream where Izuku still stood. His friends were in the creature's grip as well, having been unable to escape with Katsuki clearly about to be next.
"Let us go!" Katsuki screamed trying to hide his fear as his friends struggled and cried for help. Izuku was trembling, shaking his head as if he was somehow scared of what was happening despite the fact he is the one doing this. Yet the boy who had been crying before seemed to have stopped only with small sniffles as the appendages wrapped around his friend's throat. Then...
SNAP
Katsuki grew quiet, staring in shock as he tried to process what exactly he was seeing as friends' heads lolled to the side unnaturally. No longer screaming or crying anymore just quiet, silence even as there was no life in their eyes. Even Izuku had gone quiet as the large tendrils held onto the bodies almost mockingly.
To actually go and hurt his friends like this that he couldn't even believe this had happened.
"G-Guys? Hey speak up," Katsuki stuttered, hoping it was some big prank just a game they did with the nerd. That he could smack them over the head but there was no noise not even as they were dropped unceremoniously into the tar like water around him.
Katsuki was only four years old when he learned what death truly means.
He never truly understood the concept of death. It was something heroes dealt with and he promised to never lose in such a way. Yet he had lost innocence as he stared at his friends' broken bodies unmoving in the tar water. It clicked that this was real.
This was reality.
His eyes made contact with Izuku's own wanting to know why. Yes they were being a bit mean but why did he do this when all they were asking was to be left alone.
As their eyes met the feeling of wrongness grew as the appendage around his ankle began to tug him closer. Even as Izuku looked scared with tears in his eyes as if unable to understand himself. Shaking his head like it wasn't on purpose and that made him all the more dangerous if he can’t control himself.
He could end up killing him.
"Let. Me. GO!"
With Adrenaline pumping through his veins he suddenly lets out the strongest blast he's ever released. He felt so much pain in his hand as he pressed it against the tentacles but it seemed to work.
As instantly as the appendage recoiled in shock at the sudden heat. While in turn Izuku let out a pained cry at the action, guessing it was in the end controlled by him. At least the one that grabbed him so he can assume it is the same for his friends. But it gave him his chance to escape.
"Kacchan! Come back, wait! I'm sorry!"
That weak and pathetic voice wasn't going to fool him. He hated that he ran but it was all he could do. He ran as far as he could to still feel the tendrils on his heel.
Only to have to stop when one appeared in front of him as if to block his way. Izuku wanted him, he doesn't know why but Katsuki was feeling dread in his chest as they closed in. Able to feel if these catch him they will soon end his life.
Pressing up against the tree as there was no way to avoid them as they slowly moved in as if cautious of being blasted yet not dissuaded... He could only go up.
He blasts the tendrils that had been closing in, able to watch them screech and recoil. Before he turns to his one salvation digging his nails into the tree he begins to climb higher and higher. Even as wood and splinters dug into his hand he was able to ignore the pain as feels the tendrils smack at where he had once stood.
Seems he can't see him from this far or above, resting on the branch he just holds onto it as he listens to the crying and screaming in the distance. The damned howling that will forever be in his nightmares to haunt him. His vision blurs as he clings tightly to the branch wondering what he is supposed to do now.
"I want my mama..." he whispers only to himself regretting coming into this forest when she said not to. No one will know where they are and he wonders when Izuku might find him.
It became so dark and lonely without anyone around.
Minutes turned into hours even when the sky returned to normal it was dark. Much too dark and Katsuki couldn't bring himself to climb down, his hands now bleeding and filled with splinters. Everything hurt as adrenaline left him as his whole arm ached from the strain.
Completely and utterly alone.
It was hours before he saw the light of someone's flashlight scanning the forest floor as a beacon of hope and he called out the only thing he wanted.
"Mama!" He shouts louder than he ever has in his life. Trying not to end up crying once more as he sees her face coming beneath the tree. Practically jumping out of it into her arms just wanting the comfort of something familiar.
"Katsuki! You had me scared half to death- What happened to your hands!? Did you get stuck in a tree!?" His mother was frantic as she caught and held him close trying to assure him that he was safe. Tears were in Katsuki's eyes, unable to speak as he sniffled as his mom tried to fix his hands.
"M-Mama, T-Tsubasa and Taichi are gone," he whispers before he notices Inko holding her son, the very source of this tragedy. It was all her and her freak son's fault just seeing them there acting like they were normal pissed him off. Feeling his vision turn red as he shouts,, "Izuku killed them! He got weird tentacles and took them out!"
He expected a stronger reaction for them to be as horrified and angry at him as he felt. Instead there was confusion on his mother and the other adults faces. As if they didn't know what to say before his mom asks softly.
"Who is Tsubasa and Taichi...?" She questioned and Katsuki realized at that moment the world had gone insane.
"My best friends! You know them! Mama this isn't funny-" he shouts looking around only to look at Inko. Her eyes were wide and her mouth opened in horror and realization. No one noticed but Katsuki did as she looked at everyone with understanding as holds her son tightly to herself.
She knows...
Inko, who was staring at him, was not vouching for him, while holding the spawn that had done this. They had found Izuku first and whatever happened they no longer knew his friends.
As the way Inko holds her 'son' her expression wore the look of someone knowing this is wrong. As if she understood what had happened made her just as guilty. Katsuki wasn't ok with being the only one who knows.
"Keep him away from me!"
Katsuki screeches terrified of whatever the other would do to make him forget. Thrashing in his mothers arms looking away as he can still hear Izuku's whimper. Even his mother couldn’t get him to calm down anymore as he screamed not wanting to forget.
He didn't know how to explain it, he didn't know what to say, all Katsuki could do was scream for them to keep him away. Away from the monster that had killed his friends and tried to do the same to him.
As he sees something dark hanging behind Inko the sight seems to be something no one else is noticing. He knew it was because of Izuku, whatever that thing was, it wasn't a person.
He won't let Izuku forget what he has done.
-----
Yet only Katsuki can remember that his friends exist.
Talking to his mom about all the things he used to do with them and she would say she really doesn't remember. She looked genuinely concerned asking if getting stuck in the tree was that terrifying. Not at all believing him when he said they DID exist but Izuku made them disappear.
It didn't make sense, it wasn't fair! There were still so many questions he had that were unanswered.
Was what he saw a quirk? It seemed way too powerful, too strong, nor like anything he had ever seen. It stretched so far as if without any limit yet he still looked like himself after all that. And the ability to make everyone forget that his friends had been with him wasn't at all matching the tentacles.
He wanted to confront Izuku.
Though for a week since the incident Izuku wasn't at school. It was only through his mother that he learned what had happened. Inko seemed to have just snapped and attacked her son so she was sent to the hospital. Apparently Izuku would be raised by his father- The man that Bakugou had never seen once in his life.
Even his mother admits she hasn't seen the man but that he definitely exists which was bizarre. Making him wonder if whatever Izuku is, it is related to this mysterious unknown man.
Izuku eventually returned to school with a miserable expression. Though it definitely wasn't one of guilt as if wondering why all this had happened to him. Such a pathetic and self-pitying expression despite all the terrible things he has done.
Not even upset at the fact he likely had been the one to hurt his mom. That poor woman that he thought was covering for Izuku turned out to be a victim instead. It pissed him off wondering where the other gets off feeling sorry for himself.
He killed two kids and likely is the very reason his mother went mental yet is trying to throw himself a pity party. His hand tightens into a little fist as saw those eyes look at him as if somehow he would be able to comfort him. The small hint of nervousness in those green eyes tries to approach him.
"Kacchan-" Izuku spoke as if they were friends trying to approach him with such an innocent gaze. As if he hadn't killed Katsuki's friends in front of him then made everyone forget they existed. He hated those eyes.
"Go away!" He shouts loudly making sure all the other kids see him. Because if they know to keep away from him then they should be safe. Katsuki has to make it clear to everyone not to get close to him.
"I know what you did. You don't get to act like you're innocent," Katsuki hisses almost like a cat with fur standing on end. Confusion shows on Izuku's face as if he hadn't done anything then a moment of guilt finally shows. As if recalling why as he shrinks back when Bakugou lets out some spark.
If anything Bakugou considers himself to be trying to be nice right now as he was tempted to blast the other in the face. But he was better than that as he had to be careful to not show his back as clearly they were not friends anymore...
If only it would have stayed that easy...
