So, I've returned to Rockman.EXE hell after a while because I was feeling nostalgic and I end up watching a Blue Moon playthrough because I was curious about the Blues scenario (I haven't played any of the Battle Network 4 games) and OMG, the NetZan fuel! I realize that Blue Moon/Red Sun games tend to be hated and I understand why, but the Blues scenario really shows how Netto and Enzan's relationship has progressed from the earlier games!

To briefly summarize Blues' scenario, you have to help Enzan get Blues back after he gets infected with a Darkchip. After navigating the Undernet and finally reaching Blues, Enzan states that he wants to be the one to liberate Blues by operating Rockman. And Netto lets him. And hands him Rock's PET to do so!

Sorry, but this kinda blew my mind when I first saw it. Netto might be a social butterfly who gets along with almost everyone, but letting someone else operate Rockman? He even mentions that he usually hates someone else operating him, but Enzan's an exception!

Then Netto finishes off by saying that if the roles were reversed, he'd do the same...which brings the following game in mind, where after Rockman gets abducted, the respective leader of the games will loan you their Navi to use until you get Rockman back. In Team Blues' case, that means taking control of Blues for a while. I lowkey wonder if for Enzan, his Blue Moon scenario is another factor into his decision to lend Blues to Netto.

For many in this series, letting someone else operate your Navi is probably considered a huge sign of trust, and this is probably especially true for these two and both of them let the other do so in canon! Am I weird for going crazy over this?

I know Battle Network 2 is where their relationship starts to take a positive turn and has that famous cute tsundere moment, but 4 and 5 really show how far they've become! Plus, 4 has Netto act like the tsundere for once lol

Also in Blue Moon, they enter the stage together! It's just so cute!

Every time I am at a dance thing (whether performing or as a photographer) I follow the performers on facebook- because it's nice to make friends. One thing that Facebook does is that as soon as someone accepts your friend request it shows you what they were up to a few days prior to the performance.

It's very telling to me that three performers I've friended this year have threatened to give up their performance career (which it's usually not their primary income- it's their passion income) because they can't get bookings. And a lot of times it's because they don't have the 'dancer look.' Like they're not skinny, they're not conventionally attractive, they don't look the way that professionals are supposed to look.

I wish that they could see the tags that some of yall put on the photos of them. (Yes, I read them. I love reading them. Please don't ever stop.) I think if they knew what other people were seeing, it would save them from quitting.

sorry it's....long, this place is huge 😭

first floor! it's shaped like a turtle 🥺 the hallway leads to a set of ladders that connects every floor

donnie's room; mikey was chillin on the bed when i opened the game and i just had to leave him there for the photo op 🥺🧡 had to add a lot more decorations to it so it didn't look like a sad little depression chamber lol

leo's room; had to keep from gagging as i made it...you can almost smell the gym musk 🤢🤢 (im kidding 😭 ....mostly). also the lighting is sposed to be red, but i kept getting his and raph's rooms mixed up while playing so i color-coded all of them instead :)

best boy mikey's room!!! it looks like a tornado came through it and we love that for him 🧡 unfortunately could not find a hammock bed, but there was a very cute bunk bed with the perfect colors for him ehehe

raph's room; could not find a whole lot of refs for it in the show?? had to improvise basically half of it. and can you believe this game doesn't have a weight lifting bench???

second floor! ignore the fucked up little hallway, i just wanted to keep the layout (relatively) accurate while still making the map playable 😭 the dark room was the gnome room, but i might have sold all of the gnomes 🤔

arcade; the flooring is inaccurate, but they added it in the new update and it just looked so fun

kitchen; one of my favorites! i wish i had this many string lights in my house irl..

splinter's room (it's honestly so barren in the show, i had to improvise a lot 😭)

third floor....is very much unfinished so i won't share as many screenshots 😭

projector room; it's super barren, i still need to decorate the walls and i've just been dumping random hobby-related furniture in here, but i'm still sharing cuz i'm really happy i was able to get the colors, lighting, and floor as close as i did 😊 (SO lucky i found those rugs lol)

aaaaand everybody's least favorite bathroom! from the piebald episode lol. it's so goddamn ugly, but tragically it's the only finished room on this floor 😔

donnie's lab and the garage are hardly accurate to the show (afaik this game does not have a giant tank, or even cars, to just park inside your sims' house), so i've mostly been using them to dump hobby/needs-related furniture like donnie's science stuff and kitchen appliances. i'll get to finishing them eventually 😭

i'm happy with how it's turned out so far, though! their whole house is so colorful and full of personality and it's been super fun to both make and play on in this game 🥺

Okay so Casey Marie's muscles are something I'm never going to get over. SHE LOOKS GOOD!!!!! Her getup is feeling a little too reminiscent of a cape-wielding superhero for my tastes to be honest - I really loved the more practical outfits she wore in TLR Lost Years, especially in issue 4 when she was running the training mission for the kids. But ah well, I'm sure this will grow on me. It may not be practical (edna's law of no capes is coming to mind, also PLEASE TIE YOUR HAIR UP WHEN YOU'RE FIGHTING GIRL!!!) but it's very cunty anyway which I appreciate

FINAL THOUGHTS:

dude that first issue was wordy but the kids were ON POINT. they were so fun!! their dialogue is fun and they kick ass.

i loved yi announcing the punishment for casey while the others were like NOO SHE DIDNT MEAN THAT DONT LISTEN TO HER. we're getting more of their personalities and it's great!! it was a nice throwback to issue 2 of lost years when they were cleaning - yi refused to help because of how strictly she was following instructions. im picking up that she might be neurodivergent but i did get that from the lost years too - only doing things within strict instructions, getting frustrated at teaching odyn chess, not because of him playing horseys with the knights but that it was Against The Rules Of Chess - and now not picking up on some social cues. It's nice to see!! I love her very much, but it feels like besides rehashing the origin story she took a bit of a backseat to the other three.

i want to know more about why uno said being a rebel was moja's 'thing', since she didn't seem to be any more rebellious than the other three in this issue. we didn't get any unique interactions between her and casey marie which is what i felt was lacking from lost years but i wonder if this is hinting towards a more turbulent mother-daughter dynamic with them... I REALLY HOPE SO!! her and uno butting heads in a leo-raph way is very fun - i don't mind one or two prior group dynamics leaking into the new turtle siblings because they're all so different from the original 4.

uno seems to be taking on slightly more of a leader role than moja so i think he won the title of fearless leader. which is fine, i think it'll be fun to see and he's definitely less of an asshole now than when he was growing up in lost years. still picking on odyn a bit but seems to snipe at moja just as much. even when he was commenting on yi's storytelling he didn't make fun of her, though - i think she may have inherited the 2k3 don ability of being Completely Unbullyable.

i was really pleased that odyn felt more involved!! i feel like he took the backseat a few times in lost years - it was fun seeing more of his personality shine through! he and yi seem to get on the best, and i giggled at them rolling their eyes at moja and uno's raph-leo schtick. i didn't expect him to TURN TO FUCKING STONE THOUGH, so i'm nervous about that. WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHO DID THIS TO MY BOY? IS HE GOING TO TURN BACK NEXT CHAPTER OR IS HE OUT OF COMMISSION UNTIL THE END OF THE RUN??? (if it's the latter i'll be a bit annoyed - don't take odyn away from the equation please!!)

I do wonder if by introducing casually that they can PSYCHICALLY CONNECT, the turtles will use that as a technique to reach odyn's mind to make sure he's still in there and piece together what's happened to him. i mean, their casual telepathy has gotta be some sort of chekhov's gun right?

and shit.... april was so fucking mad casey took the babies out so she's going to EXPLODE when she finds out what happened to her baby boy, her beloved favourite, her baby odyn :''(( im giggling rubbing my hands together waiting for the fallout but also if she cries i might cry too. speaking of april, she seems to be working on a new project and i saw nano particles mentioned - are we going to have a roninverse version of nano in this run???? I NEED MY ROBOT SON

as always, casey marie... u have aged like fine wine. u are stunning. disappointed that ur still believing that jiro can do good as a cop when their entire police force and government is corrupt as fuck. just feels very naive of her. i'm excited to see her break down at the concept of losing odyn - in fact i need everyone to mourn this beautiful kid. they tell us so much that shes a super clingy helicopter mom and i am picking up on the strict part, but it would be nice to see more of her just... hugging her kids. holding them. i get why she didnt in this issue but id love more mama casey squishing their cheeks and kissing their foreheads.

i have zero fucking clue what's going on with odyn. im wondering if it's somehow related to nano, or to whatever project April is working on - she says it's to do with clearing the tunnels, but I''m not convinced. who knows, there might be some ulterior motive happening.

So, idk if any of yall remember when my account had a very soft purple theme to it. I made this blog when I was 17, following a pretty bad breakup in February because I found that writing helped me a lot. In this day and age, even real journalists are struggling with what it means to report news when facts can so easily be falsified and truth is so slippery-- how much more so your humble fandom chronicler, with no access whatsoever to the players in our stories! Fandom in general is nothing but grasping at shadows on the Walls(tm) and trying to make sense of it all without ever being allowed to see the real events, and being very aware that not only that, everyone involved in telling the stories is actively trying to mislead us, usually in multiple wildly different directions (truly unfortunate for a fandom more terrified of uncertainty than any group of people I’ve ever come across). Add in technology that makes it near impossible to discern the real from the fake and well… you start to understand the appeal of NFTs I guess! Given a truly verifiable DM screenshot someone could probably get a good bidding war going am I right?! I personally would pay good money for yall to start blockchain verifying your damn receipts (HOW sad am I that this isn’t really how NFTs work, imagine if they were actually so useful!)

Luckily, in fact things pretty much always turn out to be way simpler than fandom makes them, and usually it’s possible to get to what’s most likely the truth eventually. In this case: that Louis DMed Jedward! (In almost every other case, of course, it’s that things have been faked, screen recording or no, so this is the exception to the rule.) Anyway today saw some dramatic debunking of a DM from Louis, but then that debunking was (less dramatically) itself debunked, meaning if you’re just coming on board now you’re WINNING cause the whole middle part could be totally skipped and we are now back to the beginning and all of that can be ignored. And thank god, trying to understand it as fake when it seemed (to me) so obviously real was doing my head in (see tortured opening monologue.) So, the series of events goes like so: Jedward got up early this morning and continued to tweet about the industry and Syco and 1D, growing increasingly hysterical (“Justice is gonna be served!”, “You can’t silence the truth! Nobody can drag me down!”...uhhh that’s a lot for 6 AM damn) and then, boom, dropped a pic of a DM... from Louis!! In it he writes (the night before) “you guys have lost the plot hahahahaha you must be high”, lolll. Why would they make up him saying that, why would a faked message not be like “yeah right on” or something?! I mean, is he wrong-- what ARE they doing?? ARE they high? What is their endgame, other than getting attention to promote their new music, in talking so much about 1D and Little Mix? Louis is, as usual, asking the real questions, and more importantly, without actually giving anything away or committing to anything. Additionally I wondered if he may have wanted to sort of disrupt the narrative that he unfollowed them because he supported their message and wanted more people to see it (which you have to admit is a, uh, counter-intuitive conclusion and not remotely the most obvious way to interpret an unfollow); he may in fact wish people would shut up about his business and let him handle it himself as he sees fit, as he’s indicated many times in the past in similar situations.

Some people are enthused about Jedward’s crusade though, and happy to speak publicly about it- Nicholas Liddle chimes in about some of their points to say “from a journalist AND publicist standpoint I can confirm this”, plus “Louis Tomlinson is one of the most sweetest, genuine, unproblematic artists...take it for what you will,” and “stream Walls,” aw. Singer Lily Allen congratulates Jedward on “being iconic” and says yes, she agrees with what they’re saying.

AND there are actual OTHER THINGS GOING ON: Liam for example!! He’s got a beautiful bushy mane of lion locks and he’s tweeting about NFTs, are he and Louis twinning or what?!
