Really interested in what the plush tells us about Seam. I mean look, when it comes to merch one has to generally take a grain of salt and acknowledge that some aspects of it also come from the merch artist's/designer's interpretation of. However, Seam is an interesting case in that they're already a cryptic character with aspects we don't know about, and for some reason is getting a plush right now (not a bad thing, but it is interesting in the fact of long it took for them to get a plush and how Ch. 3+4 are coming sometime soon, probably early 2025). Also, they're getting a full body design, something we haven't seen in any official media, and a staff that we haven't seen them wield before (maybe the seam ripper?), and what details we can get about what Seam would look like in game.

Also, if the past plushies are any indication, the irony of using an actual seam ripper on Seam to check if they have any secrets in them will not be lost on me.

answering these asks slowly as i take time to marinate in my seam thoughts – it's interesting, isn't it? my safe bet has always been that while i don't like to speculate on the release, undertale's 10th anniversary seems most likely as well as the best bet for getting word out and getting promotion done in an eye-catching way. but regardless of that or if it means anything for the upcoming chapters specifically – it is still interesting! extracanonical material is always a bit of a grab-bag for me; i tend to rule out anything too far pre-release on personal principle (ie; toby's older tweets and posts from the early 2010s), because the man himself has said that the idea of deltarune has changed a lot since that time and besides that we don't know if many of them are even about deltarune at all. concept art is similar – fun for headcanons or jokes, but not intended to align with deltarune in its current state. but post-release is a bit different – there's unused text in the game that's clearly meant for players to snoop for, the spamton sweepstakes revealed a lot of important stuff, and there are things like ralsei's repeated association with flowers and this – seam repeatedly being associated with wielding a weapon – that are implied or alluded to in the game and therefore notable in extracanonical material. it's sort of like there's a little sign pointing out that we might want to keep an eye on these things.

(and as for the last bit – i'm also curious as to what seam has inside. given spamton and jevil's plushes didn't have anything, i wonder if seam will be the same?)

I’ve been getting a lot of love for The Scareiff recently, so I wrote down a lot of lore and ideas n’ stuff for you all.

HIS STORY:

The Scareiff was outstanding in his field of entertainment, enough so that he was the star of his own show. His show was called “Scareiff’s Saloon” which combined family fun with crazy spaghetti western action! The show was a hit, and he had plenty of fans. But then everything changed when someone, thought to have been a fan of his, got too close to him. His show and him started going downhill. He started messing up his parts, he made bad PR for himself, and he became a total mess. Shortly after C. Rook came into the picture, he was booted from Cathode Entertainment and his show was cancelled. Nobody knows where he is now. But he’s somewhere out in that desert, hoping an opportunity will come by where he can prove his worth again.

THE BATTLE:

They didn’t call him a sheriff for nothing. He was an expert with a pistol, and he performed all of his stunts. This expertise in the art of combat is why you most certainly need the Shadow Mantle. With such, you’ll be able to effortlessly deflect his shimmering bullets. Then you can find his whereabouts in Dreamy Desert, inside of a place called Ghost Town. Pacifying him grants you the Gleam Badge, a badge made out of pure hope.

Taking the more aggressive route makes The Scareiff impossible to find in Ghost Town. Instead he will try to hunt you down. He hopes that by turning in The Fun Gang to Tenna that that’ll get him his show back. As soon as you find the Shadow Mantle, he ambushes you. The battle with him is significantly harder in this route, even with the mantle aiding you. If you manage to strike him down, he still refuses to give up, as if his unwavering hopes are what’s keeping him going. It is this overwhelming hope that begins to turn him into a mess of TV static, withering him down until there is nothing left but his Shadow Crystal. In the process, he drops his gilded Fire-Arm, something you can equip to Toriel.

OTHER THOUGHTS AND IDEAS:

- The Scareiff’s unwavering hope and refusal to back down in the Aggressive Route is meant to reflect the fight with Undyne the Undying.

- Continuing the theme of all the secret bosses being “trapped” in some way. Despite all of The Scareiff’s hopes, he is never able to overcome that feeling and return to normalcy. But he does try his best, and comes considerably closer than any of the other secret bosses in my lore for the game.

- There is no “friend” inside of The Scareiff. There’s only hope and straw in there. However, if you’ve been looking at any of my past posts, there still is a “friend” in my take on Chapter 3.

- The Scareiff rode a horse at one point that left him a long time ago. He misses him, but he does have a cool stick horse now!

- The Scareiff knows about the other secret bosses, much like how Spamton knows Jevil. He thinks the rest of them are a bunch of weirdos and suckers. He especially doesn’t like Spamton, who he thinks is lousy and incapable of doing anything for himself.

There's a lot of speculation about what the Chapter 3 secret boss will be based on, with people guessing things like something of Asriel's, such as the contents of his drawer you can look in, or the suspiciously-similar OC he designed on his computer, or even the TV Darkner itself.

But I don't really see anyone talk about something that jumped out at me almost from the beginning - Asgore's flowers that Toriel keeps throwing in the trashcan. And you might be all like "What? When did that happen? What even is that?" but hear me out a moment.

So when in the Dreemurr's house at the beginning of each chapter, you can inspect the trashcan, and it'll mention that it's "emitting a pleasant floral scent". And you think nothing of that, because some people spray air freshener in their trashcans to stop them smelling bad. But by visiting Asgore at the end of Chapter 1, he'll give you Flowers, which you can give to Toriel, who mentions that she'll find somewhere "suitable" for them. Then in Chapter 2, inspecting the trashcan again reveals that the floral scent "has increased".

So this tells us that Asgore has been trying this for a while, and every time Toriel gets his flowers, they go straight into the trash. And I mean... yeah? They're divorced, seemingly in rather acrimonious circumstances, and while he'd quite like things to go back to how they were, she seems very much past it all. Seems like an understandable, if rather cold, response to unwanted advances from an ex.

So... what's the deal here exactly? Well, consider that darkners are beings born from objects in the light world that exist to serve some sort of purpose - namely, to serve lightners. And consider, also, that darkners are capable of becoming resentful should they become unable to serve this purpose and are abandoned - the prime example of this is King from Chapter 1. Finally, consider that all of the secret bosses up to this point have originated from items that are typically discarded - the Joker card for Jevil, a spam email for Spamton.

With me so far? Good, because it gets better.

Imagine a beautiful bouquet of flowers, painstakingly arranged with care, with the singular intention of winning back the love of somebody you wronged. Imagine that love and care suffused into the resulting darkner, eager to serve this purpose. Imagine they reach their intended target, how they might feel when they are met not with pleasure or gratitude, but weariness and scorn. Imagine the despair they must feel when they are thrown away, abandoned, never to fulfill their destiny, never to see the light ever again.

Now imagine this happening again. And again. And again. Day after day, week after week. Imagine the love of their creator turning to obsession as he tries anything and everything he can to win back his lost love. Imagine the increasing exasperation and disdain that his desperate efforts are met with time after time. Imagine being forced to absorb these incredibly intense and conflicting emotions as you are tossed upon a growing pile of your past selves, corpse upon corpse upon corpse, into a bottomless pit where life, love and optimism slowly putrefies into death, resentment and nihilism, where the only constant is that soon there will be more of your number to join you.

What kind of a darkner could possibly result from such a horrifying cocktail? And what would such a being do when ostensibly given a second chance by some... mysterious benefactor?

And that's even BEFORE you get into the whole Flowey parallels, with a plantlike being who becomes increasingly bitter and twisted as he loops through time again and again and again, and eventually becomes a monstrous godlike entity through the power of SOULS. A plantlike being that USED TO BE THE SON OF THAT GAME'S TORIEL AND ASGORE.

...if this doesn't convince you that those flowers are going to be Chapter 3's Secret Boss, then nothing will. And if they're NOT the Chapter 3 secret boss, my jimmies will be considerably ruffled. So there lol

Here’s my take on Deltarune’s later chapters.

So I actually postponed this post for a while because I wanted to have the dialogue sprites ready for it, but I never really got around finishing them.

Because of that, I will only post the overworld sprites.

Now all of this is technically subject to change as I had some new ideas as of recently, but I will write down the current concepts either way.

Chapter 3’s main bosses are Michael “Pink-Rook” Tenna (otherwise known as Peter) and Michael “Blue-Rook” Tenna (otherwise known as Baker). They have a brotherly rivalry sort of dynamic and I did base them a bit after the Left and Right Twix commercials in a way, as they tend to try to be different but end up doing essentially the same thing. Peter has a cliché French accent while Baker has a cliché German accent.  CH3’s secret boss is Mike An, who in the light world is the middle, half-circle piece of the TV’s antenna. He is the third brother (also the oldest one technically) who will go into retirement very soon after receiving a phone call from a mysterious someone during one of his radio shows. He would appear more in the story than Spamton does.

Chapter 4’s main boss is Bowoman, who is best described as a fraud, as there is no Bowman/Bow Woman chess piece. In a family dynamic she would be best described as the strange, distant cousin. Her lightworld counterpart is the tall sink within Sans and Papyrus’ house, as this chapter takes place there.  CH4’s secret boss is Times New Roman (or shortly referred to as Roman), who in the lightworld would be an old newspaper featuring an article of the disappearance of a specific someone. He takes on the role of secret boss similarly as Jevil, by not making direct contact with the Lightners unless they go to his place specifically.

Chapter 5’s main boss is John “Bishop” Baptiste. While he poses no threat, his patience does break when the Lightners disturb the peace of his church. His Lightworld counterpart is the bowl filled with the “sick” fruit juice.  CH5’s secret boss is Sabarter, the other Bishop, whose ways have been corrupted by one of the Knights. Her Lightworld counterpart is a broken Church Chalice. Similarly to Mike, she appears frequently throughout the story.

Chapter 6’s main boss is The Knight, whose lightworld counterpart is Gerson’s Hammer, while CH6’s secret boss is the other Knight, being Gaster. I will say as much that Gaster will only appear if the previous secret bosses have been defeated, though otherwise, not much to say about the Knights or the chapter as I haven’t conceptualized it that much. Same goes for Chapter 7, where I didn’t go further than the main boss being the Vessel, who represents the Pawn chesspiece.

Anyhow, I will see if I can put some work into this later on.

Currently, due to school and my focus being put onto original projects, my posts will continue to be really inconsistent, so, I want to apologize beforehand.

Dream Dairy

Date: October 15th, 2131

I'm writing this on the bus to school, but still felt I needed to write this down because well... it felt important.

Its been a couple of days since Spamton started living with us, and he is... even weirder than I initially thought. Not it a particularly bad way just... weird. There's been a bunch of things I've observed, from random glitches to the way its lens static or its weird vocal tics or how it like just, forgets stuff randomly. Papa and Dadaton have noticed even more stuff as they've been staying home with him while I've had to go to school the past few days (Fall Break starts tomorrow so at least there's that.) I've heard them whispering to each other about how it's probably best Spamton's not left alone after Dadaton found him rummaging around the attic on Thursday. (I've noticed it tends to get pretty lonely but have no clue what Spam could've been doing in the attic) Papa's also been planning for CK, Kris, and Jevil to hopefully come over soon so progress can be started sorting through their issues or something. I'm mostly excited for CK to come up here hopefully tomorrow.

Gyeh! But wait, that's not the important thing I was gonna talk about! (Though updating on the Spamton situation is like half of why I've been keeping this blog.) No, I... this is about the strange dreams I keep having. Which I now wonder are tied into the whole Dark World thing. I've mentioned before how I'm no stranger to weird dreams or nightmares, but now it seems my dreams are veering less towards the usual puppet performance stages and strange, blob like audiences and deep, dark waves that drag me under, and more towards the Dark World.

On Friday, I had a dream where I was in my Dark World outfit in a very dark, dark place. I don't remember much, just walking around a lot in the darkness, until I heard... ringing. It seemed to be getting louder and louder and I couldn't tell where it was coming from until I saw a phone. But when I got closer and reached for the phone to make the ringing stop... I woke up. Turns out the ringing was just my phone's alarm and I was late for school. Had to rush to get ready as soon as I could and ask Dadaton to drive me.

And then last night, Sunday started out like my usual nightmares do. On a stage and with a grey crowd. I was Pinocchio and was being held up by strings (likely came from Blane and Blaze teasing me for my nose earlier that day. If only I could have them meet Spamton, my nose seems tiny in comparison.) "I've Got No Strings" seemed to be playing on loop as the strings made me move against my will until it felt like someone or some... thing, picked me up. Suddenly I was in my Dark World outfit again as I laid limp in their hands. I couldn't move. I couldn't speak. I couldn't do anything until something cut my strings and I fell deeper and deeper, darker and darker before waking up. When I woke up in the middle of the night, I found Spamton sitting on my chest, staring at me. (Also I think he was... purring?)

I don't know what any of these dreams mean, if they mean anything at all, but if I have any more ill be sure to record them here for... mostly myself but also I guess whoever else is reading these posts? For now, we're at the stop for school and Taffy's trying to ask me something so I should pay attention and put my phone away.

Ey yo, I just discovered something pretty cool.

So, I need to give a bit of context first.

I draw Jevil pretty regularly in a highlighter style drawing, I just have not posted any of the drawings yet, I plan to, but just not soon.

And in the highlighter universe, there are two Jevils, a neon Jevil and a pastel Jevil. Both of the Jevils use the polychromatic colour scheme, aka, they are drawn with all the available highlighter colours.

One day, when I was drawing neon Jevil, I was trying something new and wanted to see if there was a drawing of six Jevils and every Jevil was a different colour.

I tried that and I fell in love with the results.

(Oh, by the way, eyestrain warning, the whole rainbow is going to be here.)

This looks so fucking cool!

There are some mistakes, yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this looks so sick!

I want to make them a mainstay on the Jevilverse, and I'm gonna name them "the gummy gang Jevils", since they remind me of gummy bears.

But I don't want them to just stay in the highlighter art style, I want to make fanart out of them and post it this year.

Besides, "neon Jevil" is based on regular Jevil and "pastel Jevil" is based on the black and white Joker card, so the gummy gang Jevils must have a counterpart as well.

I redesigned them into my digital art style and you can do nothing about it.

I used the same gimmick of anchor colour, neighbouring colours plus opposite colour, but since we are not playing with highlighter markers, I can change the brightness and saturation values a bit, not too much, since I want everything to be nice and bring.

And I did it all on the same specific drawing that I use every single time to test colour schemes, I don't use any other one, always specifically this one.

And here are the results. 🙂

It looks so great, I love how they are different in the exact same way, yet they all have different personalities, I love it!

They don't remind me of gummy bears, so they shouldn't be called "the gummy gang Jevils", being rainbow is now much more unique to them, so the name should enforce that.

I'm thinking of "the little rainbow Jevils" or if you want you could call them "the rainbow six", "the rainbow mafia" or "the colour cult" just anything that has the rainbow as the highlight.

Anyway, I think that I have rambled for long enough, I can't wait to make art of the little rainbow Jevils, g'bye.

How you chose your linktypes: Honestly, the lemon thing is because I've had lemon theming relating to my personality and online identity for so long, it's become part of it. I'm a system, and the first headmate I ever got was one of Jevil from Deltarune, so you can see how that connection formed. Then for crows/corvids, it just sorta made sense to me. Also I have something similar to phantom-shifts with wings, so there's that.

How you learned about otherlinking: I learned about funlinking, and realized "That's an option??" and it just works for me. I was researching types of otherlink, after being interested/fascinated in the alterhuman community, and it clicked.

Do you express your linktype(s), or are they fully internal: I express them somewhat. I've been thinking about getting a crow mask, and my online user is FatherLemonade just about everywhere. I also have quite a bit of whimsy from my Jevillink, so there's some behavioral expression through that.

linktype quirks/mannerisms: I don't know if I have any, other than some behavioral things I do incidentally at this point.

Preferred environment: I prefer city environments, more than anything. Many birds live in human cities (mainly pigeons where I'm from), but I'm also just very social and extroverted.

Social or Solitary: Highly social! Both the Jevillink and Crowlink are social. Lemons are, uh. N/A I guess lol.

Is your linktype fact or fiction: One is fiction, the other two are extant.

Fond memories while linking: I mean I don't really have shifts, other than my somewhat phantom-shift with wings.

Colors associated with linktype: Yellow is the biggest one for me, from Lemons. Then my second favorite color is purple, which incidentally connects to Jevil.

Shapes or Symbols associated with linktype: Ooo this one is tricky. Probably the corvid skull for crows, but idk if that matches me specifically or just crows in general. Then a lemon also for me.

Songs or Sounds associated with linktype: Jevil's themes in Deltarune, the phrase "I CAN DO ANYTHING", and a few others for Jevil.

Have you ever had a dream as your linktype: I don't know! Maybe? Not that I remember well enough to document.

How it affects your daily life: It doesn't really, my day-to-day would be pretty unimpacted by my identities, especially since most people in my life don't know about them.

Have your linktype(s) changed: Nope! Started as a crow, ended as a crow. The Jevil and Lemon links are ones I've been somewhat considering for a while, but haven't been taking too seriously yet.

Unexpected discoveries about your linktype: None that I can think of. There's the post about the person peeing on a lemon tree and the tree growing monsterously big lemons, so there's that :P

Any physical items related to the linktype: I used to have a jevil cosplay, but I've lost a lot of the parts for it and outgrew the rest of them. I would buy some, but I'm moving soon, so I won't buy anything until I'm moved in.

Do you foster your linktype connection at all: Nope, not really. I feel a strong connection already, so I don't really need to do much to foster it, y'know?

Has your linking experience so far been positive or negative: I'd say positive! I've had no negative experiences linking, other than when someone else told me I couldn't be a crow because I was too bubbly and playful, and crows are dark mysterious omens (but that was someone else saying that, rather than anything internal)

How open are you about your linktype: I don't hide it, but I don't particularly talk about it either.

Would you dress as your linktype: Yes! As I said, previously had a cosplay of Jevil, and I feel like a fully black crow outfit would go hard.

Have you met another linker: In person, not that I know of. I've seen some people wearing alterhuman gear publically, but never said anything more than "I like your (gear)!" I'd love to meet more though!

upcoming projects:

Update Time!

I won't be posting anything major in a while as I'm currently working on a large project. I won't give away much but simply put I am designing secret bosses for Deltarune for a couple of my friends and some other secret bosses too. Basically I'm building a secret boss dream team. Hopefully they'll become my sorta mascots and such.

In other news I'm thinking of officially rebranding my DeltaSwap take as a Deltarune Chapter Rewritten take. Though most of the swaps aren't the same. So I might just update the backstories to be more different from CR.

DeltaSwap is getting two new versions though. Obviously my classic one. Then Reimagined (which is basically the TS version) and DeltaSwap Rewritten (which is a fusion between my DeltaSwap and the style of Chapter Rewritten). But those aren't in a while. Also every character will be getting small to major updates coming soon. Not as drastic as the changes made to the Winterers Chapter Rewritten but simple aesthetic to help them feel more unique and lively.

UnderSwap is on a bit of hold as I currently have lost a few of the reference sheets for certain characters (more major ones) and what was scheduled as Swapfell is also being delayed since I didn't like some of the designs as they felt more Fellswap.

Lastly I am currently working on sprites for the charecters after the redesigning is done and planning songs for them. Unfortunately I don't play any instruments but these songs are more conceptual and if anyone does want to make them reality I'll be glad to provide my art and ideas.

Hey, sorry for the very late reply, and also for not letting it be known publically, but we have not been doing anything with this project for a good while now. The main reason for this is due to a lack of motivation, but I also lost access to this account for a while and finally regained access just now. So... I basically made a huge crossover that I've named 'Void Crew' (because their either void-centric characters or they meet because of the void joining them together) which includes a lot of my favourite characters... and its essentially so that they can all be friends and hang out and its completely self-indulgent lmao but I hope other people like it too :D

This is gonna be a big introduction to who's in the AU and who might be included later or when I make up my mind about them lol.

Monika, Sayori, Yuri and Natsuki coming together and being friends after the deletion of the Literature Club.

Bendy, but more closer to the depiction of him as the Ink Demon in The Dark Revival

W.D. Gaster and Herobrine are actually best friends and you can't tell me they wouldn't be because they are. They're also like... parental figures to some of the others.

Spamton and Jevil, who are brought in because Gaster wanted to see Spamton to apologise and because Jevil would have been a huge threat if he was directed the wrong way... and also Spamvil

It technically counts as the Mario & Sonic franchise (like... Mario and Sonic at the Olympics... I had a weird fixation on it for a while) but its very clear that I vastly prefer Sonic and his friends over Mario. A specific character being Shadow, who joins unintentionally after one of Eggman's new experiments goes a little wrong.

Hornet, now on the hunt for the amalgamation of her siblings. She is brought to Mobius after the rest of the gang, and ends up stuck there.

Additional characters include potentially Chara as 'the kid who sometimes helps out Gaster but also just likes to mess with people and be a menace', Ghost/The Knight might be around? I really REALLY want to include Cult of the Lamb characters but I'm just not sure how. Other Sonic Characters will definitely be mentioned (as a Sonknuxadow + Silver shipper, they will be here) as well as like Luigi and Daisy.

EXPECT ANOTHER POST ABOUT THIS. I WANT TO ELABORATE ON THE STORY AND LORE :)

so like i am all here for Spamton Shrunk From The Acid, but i think one of the lines used to talk abt it has some different and interesting implications. spamton has been burned in a lot of ways and i'd like to talk about one while i lovingly dunk him in the acid. long post behind read more, unsurprisingly also containing some kris theories,

so let's look at the dialogue again:

so. let's try and translate this out of spam email. he's talking about being hurt, but he seems to regard it as a good thing to some degree - something that will let him surpass jevil, and get on the path to something bigger and better (like, say, Heaven) and on the path to [Hyperlink blocked]. he either thanks or blames something or someone he can't like. describe. except as unintelligible laughter, something he had some form of communion with, perhaps granting him knowledge of heaven and the angels.

(hey did you know one of jevil's little battle things says "Jevil is laughing incomprehensibly"?)

i remember someone saying in the tag that in the japanese, spamton's more clearly saying that his eyes are burning, like he looked at something too bright. i've lost the source on that, so take it with a grain of salt, but it'd track with some things he says in his weird route fight:

THE [Voice] RUNS OUT EVENTUALLY YOUR [Voice] THEIR [Voice] UNTIL YOU REALIZE YOU ARE ALL ALONE YOU LOST IT WHEN YOU TRIED TO SEE TOO FAR.... ... YOU LOST IT...

sidenote this dialogue freaks me out. anyways.

it requires a few assumptions, but i think it's possible to take what spamton's saying as meaning that he got in touch with gaster, and gaster showed him the angel's heaven, or the world above/beyond the game, or both. like jevil, seeing the true nature of reality fucked spamton up pretty damn hard and put him in some level of permanent physical/mental/spiritual pain. however, he sees it as a blessing overall, and wants to use the knowledge he has to finally break free and make it into heaven.

(it's a tangent, but i do think he tried similar before, but for gaster's benefit, not his own:

ARE YOU WATCHING, [Heaven]!? IT'S TIME FOR SPAMTON'S [Comeback Special]! AND THIS TIME... I LIVE FOR MYSELF!!! NO... MYSELF AND MY [Friend(s)]!!!

also the end of his pacifist fight also freaks me out. anyways!!!)

so. while he may have also been thrown into the acid, as he deserves, this particular source of burning is a lot deeper and existential.

and if you talk to him about another subject, he suggests he might know of someone else who's been burned by communion with an outside power, someone else in touch with something that's too far from their reality to even see properly...

* SPEAKING OF [[Communion]] * KRIS, DID YOU KNOW THAT THE KNIGHT...

but he gets cut off pretty quick.

* No, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to -- * TOO MANY EXCESS VACATION DAYS?? TAKE A GOD DAMN VACATION STRAIGHT TO HELL
