THE KAI WHO DIDN’T LIKE MUSICALS OFFICIAL RELEASE!!!
The Guy Kai Who Didn’t Like Musicals!
Run Time: 212 minutes
Genre: Horror/Comedy
Plot: Your average everyday guy (who doesn’t like musicals), a crabby barista, and a sheltered 17 year old singer on tour. What do these 3 have in common? All 3 of them are stuck in the town of Hatchetfield when a musical apocalypse breaks out. People burst out into choreographed song and dance numbers on the streets, and chaos runs rampant. It’s up to Paul, Emma, and Kai, along with a ragtag group of their friends, to stop the musical apocalypse and save the world! Or, at the very least, live to see it end.
Starring: Paul Matthews, Emma Perkins, and Kai Drew!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR DIRECTOR:
Hello everyone! If you don't know already, I'm pastriibunz, but you can call me Pastrii! And for the last few months, I've been working on this little BIG writing project where I essentially "script" my character, Kai Drew, into "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals!" This has been a HUGE passion project for me, and I'm so excited to share it with you all!
This all started because one day, I watched TGWDLM and I thought: "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if I put Kai in there?" So, I grabbed a friend, and we rp'd wrote Kai in there! It was so much fun, and honestly a few moments in there altered my brain chemestry.
And then, a few weeks (i think? could've just been a few days) later, I was rewatching TGWDLM and I was like, "Man, I wish I had the script for this!" And then I thought, "Wait, I could just write it as I watched!" But then, I had a third, even greater, thought:
"WHAT IF I SCRIPTED THE KAI WHO DIDN'T LIKE MUSICALS?!"
And thus began a month (or two month) long journey of writing this thing out!
There was moments where I felt a lot of creative burnout, points where I just wanted to quit this project altogether, and there was a period of time where I just quit writing it outright. But I didn't. And honestly? I kinda love the end result!
I'd like to thank everyone who's followed me and this project since the beginning, and I'd like to thank everyone who finds it now! Honestly, the excitement and hope that my work would be seen has been a huge motivator for me, and it just makes me really happy knowing that Kai's out there.
I'd also like to give really special thanks to @local-soda-can, who helped me write out the "outline" for this! I couldn't have done this without them. They're an amazing friend, and an even greater co-writer. I love them a lot, so if you liked this, be sure to give them a follow! I love you fizz <3
Also, I'd like to PLEASE ask that you guys reblog this if you liked it, as I've heard it helps more than likes.
So that's that! All I ask now is that you sit back,
relax,
grab a drink and a snack or two,
and enjoy,
THE KAI WHO DIDN’T LIKE MUSICALS!!!!

LOOKING FOR CONTENT TO WATCH?
here are some underrated (in my opinion) media's I recommend!
Lackadaisy (Animated PILOT - Webcomic.) Lackadaisy has its own Animated PILOT on YouTube, and a Webcomic you can find on the official lackadaisy website! The series is about a webcomic set in Prohibition-era St. Louis, Missouri. It chronicles the events of a cast of anthropomorphic cats as they struggle to keep the titular speakeasy afloat.
Murder Drones (Animated series) Murder Drones has recently gained popularity, but is still a small project. You find it on youtube. On a post-apocalyptic exoplanet, worker drones struggle to survive by hiding from rogue robots called Murder Drones
Epithet Erased (Animated series - book) you can find the first 7 episode Animated on YouTube! Season 2, however, Is a book. based on the tabletop roleplay series Anime Campaign! With unique powers called epithets, and characters attempting to steal an amulet rumored to have the ability to take a person's epithet.
Lego Monkie Kid (Cartoon) The tale begins when an ordinary boy, Monkie Kid, finds Monkey King's legendary staff, and he becomes the chosen one. You can watch on PRIME VIDEO!
Recreyo (YouTube channel!) Oddly enough, I'm recommending a YouTube channel.. a Comedy podcast with a group of friends with trust issues are thrown into different chaotic scenarios where they have to survive by learning to trust each other.. or not.
I'm running out of ideas or media's so.. uh yeah guys you should watch those silly fnaf rps like Oddities or The Famous Films!!! There's more, but I don't know them all lol
Also the sun and moon show is pretty cool yeah
EDIT ; The amazing digital circus is a new media too! Though, the fandom has grown largely. It's a animated pilot on YouTube, under the GlitchProductions channel. (creators of murder drones)
EDIT ; Spooky Month! Halloween is one of everyone's favorites, and so is October! I'm sure you've all heard of this show, made by Sr. pelo. Every year, near Halloween, a new episode for this series released! Last year, it grew huge in popularity.
There obviously tons of smaller projects out there, and I totally recommend them! Make sure to support small creators!
EDIT 2;
Fizz back w/ another banger
Y'all have obviously heard of hazbin hotel and helluva boss (I think helluva boss currently is better, especially in it storyline.)
Ramshackle ! An animated pilot on YouTube and it's 1st episode!, with many other small contents (webtoon, merch, art)
(Not really a media, but a nice nostalgic moment for old time flamingo fans) rewatch Roblox myth videos! They're actually nice to go back and remember, Especially if you were around when the vids came out.
An anime for once! Madoka Magica is great, actually. It's a dark spin on the magical girl ordeal, and it's probably the only anime I really like.
Object shows. There's a LOT of these. Most popular; Inanimate insanity, BFDI. Best recommendations; ONE (hfjcheesy), love of the s*n
Robloc area ; Regretevator, Evade, etc are lowkey fun games with good fandoms (sometimes)
EDDSWORLD OH My God please watch eddsworld it's made by this dude named Edd Gould and it's awesome
Indigo Park. Play it. It's so fucking cool/gen
Kinitopet, nice ai spin game!
Class of 2009 is epic and funny (also has triggering topics tho)
Musicals! It's nice to find new and different musicals!
Horror! +Favs ; Mandela catalogue, the walten files (there's more but it's been a bit)
Dead end, cold front, etc! The creator has amazing games :3
I had more but. Forgot oops

it's time again for my favourite genre of post: tumblr user bee brotherdusk theorises wildly during the Foundation midseason!
on the menu this time is Poly and Constant's Imperial Vacation From Hell, or "oh god, I just wanted to make sure one of my favourite guys was going to be okay, but somehow I ended up sending over two dozen increasingly frantic messages to the discord while everyone else was asleep, pepe silvia-style"
Tumblr media
(today I learned that grandpa joe shows up when you type "pepe silvia" into the gif search. deserved)
I'm gonna stick this under a readmore as it gets pretty long and image heavy, and potentially contains big spoilers for upcoming episodes, and I know some people want to watch the show completely unspoiled. all theories are based on official promotional videos already released by apple. no leaks or insider book knowledge here!
so I sort of stumbled into this theory in three stages, and I'm going to stick to that template as I talk through my analysis here, starting with:
Part 1 - I'm Genre Aware Now And Everything Hurts
let's be real, nobody saw Hari's (apparent) death coming in the last episode. death is far less of a concern in this show than in others, as the narrative all but guarantees the long-term survival of its core characters. Hari (apparently) dying so quickly after having his body restored was a massive shock, and jolted us out of the complacency that the show had lulled us into.
when the title and description of next week's episode dropped, fan concern quickly turned to Poly, who @gaal-dornick and @aquitainequeen noted has started to exhibit the classic symptoms of Tragic Mentor Figure Disease:
Tumblr media
also, there's, y'know, The Guillotine Situation as shown in Trailer 1:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poly's death seemed so likely that I was beginning to dread the coming episodes, but something was nagging at me; I had a vague memory of seeing a trailer where he was on Terminus and in a situation that we haven't yet seen him in. maybe he does survive his brush with Brother Day, then? I started rewatching all of the trailers, teasers, and character spotlight videos that Apple released in the run-up to season two, and came across something way wilder than I'd expected:
Part 2 - Star Bridge 2: Council Boogaloo
I found another camera shot of Poly and Constant's apparent execution in the Brother Dawn character spotlight video - note the pillars in front of the crowd, the flags in the back, and Dawn, Sareth, Demerzel, Dusk, and Rue standing on the platform behind Day and the prisoners.
Tumblr media
note also the onlookers in the maroon robes, who are also visible in the guillotine closeup I posted above...
...hey, it's the Galactic Council as seen in 2.06, with their GILF-y leader at the front in both scenes!
Tumblr media
remember how terrified Cleon XII was of their judgement in the season one finale? we still don't know what their exact deal is, but they're clearly big cheeses politically if XII of all people is afraid of them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
here's yet another angle of the execution from Trailer 2 - same setup, same arrangement of Empire on the podium:
Tumblr media
let's see what happens in that shot, will we? ..... oh
Tumblr media
... did an explosion just go off in the heart of Trantor and potentially take out the entire galaxy's government in one go???? (I mean, Empire are probably fine with their auras and nanobots and backups, but I'm not feeling too good about the Council's chances right now...)
wait - the pulse and shape that appear on the horizon bear a striking resemblance to the new Foundation whisper ships - especially Poly and Constant's ship, Spirit Rising, which is currently in the hands of Hober Mallow...
Tumblr media
why did he take their ship, again?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
holy fucking shit Hari Seldon you insane rat bastard (admiring, horrified, impressed). what have you DONE. a blade in case the religious hand of friendship doesn't work out, you say??
(sidenote: this was literally the Anacreon plan for the Invictus in the first season - the scale of the destruction would have been magnitudes worse due to the Invictus' size, but same concept)
Tumblr media
honestly, I kind of hope the entire Council perishes in the Mallowpocalypse, if only because it would make this exchange in 2.06 deliciously ironic:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the worst detectives in the world finally found their shared braincell and made a deduction! I'm proud of them!
also, Glawen literally saw this coming in 2.04 and Bel brushed him off. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ sad!
Tumblr media
regarding casualties - I think this shot from Trailer 1 is the aftermath of the blast. Day was standing much closer to the explosion than the rest of Empire and Dominion, and so would have taken more damage, aura or not. I also see Sareth, Rue (?), and Dawn - jury's out on whether being dead is the latest item added to Dusk's rapidly expanding list of problems?
Tumblr media
a direct attack on Trantor would also explain why Day goes on a personal tour of the Outer Reach and ends up on Terminus, screaming for an audience with Hari Seldon (Trailer 1 again):
Tumblr media
and hey, Poly's right behind him! he's Empire's best chance of getting a personal audience with the Prophet, after all. Poly also pops up in Day's character spotlight video, in what I'm guessing is the execution scene again, judging from the collar and the guard restraining him. it might even be the aftermath of the blast, since the shot is pretty chaotic and dusty looking. what's got him so upset?
Tumblr media
... and it was at this moment that I realised that while Poly is present in the later Terminus scenes with Day, Brother Constant is not, and I started to worry that I'd been focusing on the wrong person the whole time, leading to...
Part 3 - What About Constant?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh no. the question of Constant's safety has been hanging over both Poly and the viewer since 2.02. oh no
I thought I might have caught a glimpse of her in the Teaser 1 video - being restrained in the background as Day does his infamously-giffed-to-hell Big Steppy on Hober's throat - but I still wanted more concrete proof of her wellbeing.
Tumblr media
and finally I found her in the Pillars of Foundation video, alive and well, but -
Tumblr media
HER NECK!! HER NECK!!!
if Constant's life is just barely saved by Hober showing up in the nick of time to prevent her decapitation by an insane tyrant I will literally never be normal again. romance. that's romance. (also incredibly shitty of Vault!Hari to take her blind faith and turn her into a pawn for the Empire to slaughter, but I guess that's expected behaviour from him by now.)
... I was literally about to hit post on this theory, but I just realised; that scene in Teaser 1 where Day is facing down a bishop's claw... we all assumed he was being attacked by a wild beast in the Outer Reach - but what if he's lying in the ruins of the podium on Trantor, and the bishop's claw is a freed Beki going on a rampage? god I hope this happens. imagine being Emperor of the Galaxy, about to perform some casual executions before dinner, and suddenly you're flat on your ass with a Hell Dinosaur about to bite your face off. incredible scenes
Tumblr media
and that's all I've got! TLDR; Hari knew that the emperors and Galactic Council would become increasingly paranoid and aggressive as the Empire contracted, and would jump at the chance to publicly end an attempted religious takeover by the "barbarian" Outer Reach. That mass gathering at the execution would be the perfect time to strike with a whisper ship, a technology which the Empire has no idea even exists. This enrages Day into visiting Terminus to deal with the Foundation in person, and potentially destabilises the Empire further if the Council have been wiped out. Empire's structure and dignity are decimated without a single shot being fired - and if there is going to be an eventual, physical war, the Foundation is now in a much better position to fight it.
again, this is just me making a theory and connecting everything together with red string etc etc. I haven't attempted to explain everything, such as the Spacers' or Riose's involvement, and have doubtless got some details wrong - but I'm really excited by how things are connecting and can't wait for next week's episode :}

Minecraft Characterization Notes
I've rewatched all the trailers and content I could find/exists (as of November 2022) that contains Steve, Alex, and any of the new characters to take notes on their characterization and quirks :] Information is taken from the playlist of animated trailers in the official Minecraft YouTube channel, caves and cliffs: the musical, and the announcement video from MineCon live. If I've missed anything, please let me know!
First up, Alex. They're first and foremost an explorer, always eager to dive into a new adventure. This manifests as a slight lack of impulse control, but things tend to work out in their favor anyways due to their natural luck. Their hunts give them pretty things to decorate with, feeding their apparent desire for aesthetics. They tend to take on a leadership role in most situations, either by taking charge when exploring with their best friend Steve, or directing the other players. Despite this, they're also a goofball at heart and have a penchant for practical jokes. They seem to have good storytelling skills and talent with redstone.
Next is the original, Steve. They're far more cautious than Alex, which is a good thing given their bouts of both klutziness and misfortune. They often have their head in the clouds and get absorbed into tasks, which results in them startling easily. They're practical by nature and tend to do more by-the-book mining. They love most animals and creatures but are scared of goats. Despite their sweeter, milder nature, they're just as much of a hardened, competent warrior as Alex is (especially when not caught off-guard).
Sunny is the first of the new characters I'll cover. They're a bit reckless but mean well (they heedlessly ran into the deep dark after a chicken). They later recounted this tale as a show of bravado, claiming to have escaped from the warden alive with the chicken (but it's unclear how true that is). Although they seem to enjoy living fast, they also like to slow down and enjoy some time boating on the water (though they may have just been keeping watch for Efe).
Wherever Sunny goes, Efe is sure to be close. They followed Sunny into the deep dark and aided in the recounting, but seemed to mostly play a secondary role in that situation. That's not to say they're any less attracted to danger—we see them fighting a hoard of drowned, using a Trident while underwater to do so. They appear to do this solely for the fun of it as Sunny keeps watch above (perhaps they're not supposed to be this adrenaline-seeking but choose to do so anyways?). Despite their brave nature, they get startled and run from a creeper immediately after. In the chase, they skillfully take to riding a pig at high speeds without a pause to mount up. This shows off their notable athletic prowess.
The last of the new characters to receive significant development is Noor. They're lower-energy than either Sunny or Efe, but not sedate. Their curious nature shines through. They also appear to be more observant than the others, noticing when Steve and Alex came back through the nether portal in the distance as well as the nearby Allay. While they love many creatures (catching a tadpole in a bucket and then later releasing it in a nice location), they have a particular affinity for allays and recall their experiences with the creatures fondly. They tend towards reminiscing and nostalgia. They're a practical person—they brought a bucket and spyglass on their boating trip, not just glowberries to snack on.
The remaining four do not have as many scenes or development, but I will do my best to get as much information from their scenes as possible. (Some of the following may appear to be a stretch for this reason)
The most developed of those who remain is Makena. They're first seen farming as Zuri runs by while being chased. They later show up again with an elytra, making skilled flight maneuvers to return the redstone torch to Alex. Seeing a problem and deciding to help speaks to a helpful and compassionate nature, and their flying abilities show their agile physical abilities.
As previously mentioned, Zuri was running from a creeper. They appear easily startled. Their coordination leaves something to be desired when they're distressed, so they are not likely a warrior.
Ari is another player seen flying with elytra. They accidentally stole Alex's redstone torch but dropped it when trying to activate a rocket to turn around. They appear to mean well but do not have the best hand-eye coordination.
The final character is Kai. Very little is known about them at this time, as their only animated appearance shows them farming. They're slouched over in the introductory promotion image and one might assume they're laid-back or lackadaisical, but that's conjecture at this point.
Someone in the YouTube comments on a reupload of the clip from MineCon Live went through and determined which characters were right or left handed.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: A screenshot of a YouTube comment on dark mode. The comment is from SomeBodyKarens1 and has three likes. The comment reads: Freezing the frame on when they are all holding redstone torches (aside from Efe who is on a pig) I believe their dominant hands are as follows.
Zuri: right.
Sunny: Right.
Noor: Left.
Makena: ambidextrous (Even though holding a torch in the right hand, in the scene when running they are holding a bucket in their left).
Kai: right.
Efe: left.
Ari: right. End image ID]

I do appreciate that it might have become a little tiring to have all 4 turtles go through a ptsd arc at different points in the show but holy crap they ALL deserved some ancient one therapy one way or another. I like to imagine post series when they're all chilling in their thirties they all talk to the official Justice Force HQ therapist so they can fully get this stuff off their chest, down to the wackiest sci-fi details 😭
I'm hopeful!!! Especially because IDW has been churning out all sorts of tmnt crossovers lately now that they have exclusive comic rights... I would adore for them to make something new for 2k3, sort of how they've started up the saturday morning cartoon comic inspired by the 87 series. 2003 is a VERY popular TMNT iteration even now, what with the story being so close to the mirage comics, so there would definitely be an audience for it??? So IP holders if you're listening......... Take some notes 👀
Sam Riegel really does have the nicest Don voice, he's probably my favourite version of Donatello. Such a soft kind soul 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
im imagining the poor justice force sat around a table after the turtles leave with their heads in their hands like ‘….oh my god”
also as ive gone back and rewatched the episodes, i totally forgot that don more or less watches his family die twice!! in that ep where they had the astral plane dream.. he thinks casey and april get blown up and BOY is he panicking. don had some untapped ptsd after sainw.. im bubble wrapping him. bubble wrapping him with a thousand bubble wraps forever and ever.
and yes ! the whole 40th anniversary comic is so exciting, i feel like even though all iterations of the show get good enough rep, the older shows like 2003 are getting a little more love which is nice :) they also released (or are releasing) a full dvd box set if im not mistaken! which is huge HUGE because finding any a good quality version of that show is like gold dust so that’s just upping my expectations slightly that we’ll get something…. if the ninja turtle gods allow it….
(also am i naive to also want the scrapped 2012 movie that they’re taking bits and pieces of for the 40th anniversary comic?? yes i am but i can dream)
and yeah. there’s just something about sam as donnie! don’t get me wrong i do enjoy crazed scientist donatello or snappy snarky dry wit donnie but 2003 donnie is so special to me that increases tenfold because of his voice. i hold him gently in my hands like an injured bird lol

Okay thoughts about the musical! I will go into a bit of a detail so if you prefer being surprised by how things appear in the musical, then skip this post.
It's about 2 hours and 40 minutes long, not counting a 30-minute-long break in the middle and the last ten or so minutes of bows and the cast saying goodbye. It's a big thing, though it doesn't show anything that hasn't been shown in the anime already - although from what I noticed, the lyrics and dialogue are based on the manga dialogues. It even adapts scenes from "Fullmetal Lady", which was adapted by a manga chapter further down the line.
First thing you hear after the orchestra tunes up is sounds of guns firing and bombs falling. The music starts and it's soon joined by a young Twilight crying.
Yeah :)
It's framed as Twilight looking at his past. After this very intense and dark intro, it starts adapting from the very first page of the manga. Some stuff are shown as "action" on a projected screen. The Handler appears from the very beginning, acting like a sorta narrator and also the one who introduces Operation Strix to Twilight.
It skims through details, but main scenes are kept and half the time the dialogue is spoken, the other half sung. I did not particularly like that they took the manga dialogues as they were and simply turned them into lyrics, there are lots of instances where the rhythm and lack of rhyming sounded awkward, but it's not too distracting from the entertainment.
I'm not an expert in musicals, but it looked like a well-standing production. I can't lie that I did notice some weak spots in the main actors' singing, but I give a pass because it was a very long production and they might have been tired from constant rehearsals and performances. Around 2/3 of the first part Twilight's poor actor was sweating buckets and didn't even have the time to wipe it off. But he still acted, sang and danced without showing any signs of tiredness or stress. In fact he was pretty funny in his acting! Yor's actress did some cool moves, too, she looks so badass as the Thorn Princess. The Anya actress from the performance I watched was very good, especially for her age! Good singing and great "placement" on stage.
Franky was fun! He seemed to really enjoy it, or simply really really get into the role. The Handler had some awesome dance moves and a strong voice, they knew what they were doing with her actress - also she has a very swaggy song right after the break, that accompanies the "Fullmetal Lady" part. I hope they release the songs from official recording off live performances, cause some of them are pretty cool!
And I swear, Yuri is far from my favourite character in the show, but just like the English dub, in the musical he just serves. He's so fucking enjoyable, and looked super professional in his dance and sing combo - I might need to rewatch, but he might have been the best at singing and dancing at the same time from all the cast. Paired with his overdramatic acting he was so much fun to watch!
By the way, the choruses were damn near impeccable. While I noticed a few flats and weak high notes from the main cast, I don't think I noticed a single mistake from any of the chorus parts. I was even taken aback by one; when Anya has a flashback of the lab scientists, said scientists sing in a chorus about how she has to study and has no time to cry and play. And it's awesome! Though you also feel sad because halfway through it Anya (the character, not the actress) bursts into tears and you're just like :( stop hurting her :(
The design changes are cool and smooth. Some back dancers/singers help with the changes sometimes but they feel very part of the whole thing. It doesn't take you away from the action. Fight choreographies are pretty good, too. I mean, they are theatrical ones, it's obvious they're fake, but they're faked well and professionally. You don't expect cutting and montage on a theatrical performance, after all!
You might have noticed from the video I posted, but Henderson's actor did a good job being a meme playing.
In general the whole presentation has a feeling of... not taking itself very seriously. Like, they have an entire movement just for Bondman! It's still very professional but they also take it a little lighter - aside from scenes where gravity is needed, like when Anya or Twilight have their flashbacks, when Yor kills her target, when Yuri interrogates that guy they arrested, etc. I think there's a good balance overall.
After Yuri's visit ends, Twilight has his moment of thinking how he felt jealous of Yor and Yuri, and though the acting was a little subtle, I really liked it! I like it as a moment in general so I'm glad it was added there and done justice!
I'm not sure whether Fiona really had time to be a part of the musical. She only appears a little before the end, in an adaptation of the "Nightfall" episode/chapter, and though it's done well (and the singer has a great finish line) it feels a little shoehorned in, lol. She was still enjoyable and I understand why they added her, but still. She was fun to see her fangirl about Twilight and Twilight being none the wiser - I feel that was even more accentuated there since it was live action, lol.
Near the end is also the Loidman part, with a choreographed fight between Loid and Yor! I missed some action though because some cameraman decided to film Anya's reaction from up close instead. Cute, but not the center of attention, dude!
Anyway, it then ends with a bit of a "summary" of how Anya has to become an Imperial Scholar (we get to see her in her school uniform!), and a full-cast and chorus reprise of the beginning song, which is certainly not an earworm for me right now SUBETE WA YORI YOKI SEKAI NO TAME NI I mean what
Overall, it's quite entertaining, and I'm not a big fan of musicals myself! Again, it's a long watch, and you have to be mindful that you're watching a filmed theatrical performance, but I would recommend it for its humor.

Watching the Yostverse; or, the X-Men problem
With Spider-Man being in my head lately (between Across the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man 2 on PS5) I realized I wanted to rewatch The Spectacular Spider-Man and see if the ending has value as is or if it's entirely ruined by being cut short. And that lead me to remember I never finished The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! despite enjoying the first season a ton. It's been like a decade since both and I am much better at reading media than I was so I'm curious what'll hit different.
Now according to Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Vol.10, Wolverine and the X-Men takes place in Earth-8096. Then The Appendix to the Handbook of the Marvel Universe lists that Wolverine and the X-Men, Hulk vs. Thor, Hulk vs. Wolverine, Planet Hulk, The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes!, and Thor: Tales of Asgard all take place on Earth-8096. This also means the Marvel Universe: The Avengers - Earth's Mightiest Heroes! and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes! (2011) comics are set there.
Now the Planet Hulk film is also set on Earth-10022 as well, so if it can take place in multiple universes, I felt that there's no reason that The Spectacular Spider-Man couldn't also have happened here. According to Christopher Yost the AEMH episode Along Came a Spider was, in spirit, a Spectacular episode. The episode was also initially recorded with Josh Keaton as Peter Parker/Spider-Man before being redubbed as Drake Bell (at the time the upcoming voice for the lead in Ultimate Spider-Man). These details lead me to include the show.
So I compiled a list of all these episodes, movies and comics in release order. I've made it through most of The Spectacular Spider-Man and just began Wolverine and the X-Men, and despite being hopeful about a series I haven't watched before, I've already started to be caught up on how it is beginning to present things.
But maybe the problem is that the X-Men are a very flawed concept.
I was never into the X-Men as a kid, never saw the cartoon, the comics, or the movies. But the concept sounds cool. An oppressed people, proudly expressing their identity as members of that group while fighting against their oppressors! But the problem is how it is not a good metaphor for reality.
Whether based on racism, homophobia, or any other form of prejudice, oppressed peoples are not themselves inherently more dangerous than anyone else. The fearmongering about them is entirely artificial or unjustified paranoia. But even the nicest most considerate version of Scott Summers could trip and accidentally kill an entire room of people. Mutants in this series can actually be incredibly deadly to everyone around them! But the ones that have no deadly powers and just kinda look weird aren't treated any better. They aren't propped up to deflect criticism "we aren't anti-mutant, we are kind to the good ones!" And what makes the Brotherhood bad? In the show so far they smash a cop car (the cops are shown to still be fine) and this is portrayed as villainous. Contrasting Wolverine leaving the MRD guy in the automatic torture chair.
I just feel like X-Men can't get past its initial concept, where the good guys defend themselves from attack but don't actively fight back against their oppressors. That's villainous behavior. The heroic thing is to behave respectably until you are deemed worthy of rights.
The cops are good, and are also the law, which is good, and as part of the law they arrest mutants, who are all automatically criminals and hand them over to the MRD, who are bad, and SHIELD also hands over mutants to them, and SHIELD is good and works with the Avengers, who Wolverine joins, and the Brotherhood are bad because they're criminals.
I don't know if there are any good versions of the X-Men out there, but I feel it would only be so if they changed enough that the established fans would be unhappy with how different it was.
I did like one thing, when Angel turns down rejoining the X-Men because living as his father's shameful secret gives him access to a fortune he can use to help mutants. He is faced with two mutually exclusive choices and picks one. Neither the characters or the show judge this decision, it's ambiguous and up to the audience to decide. I like that!
It's possible I'm just being very judgemental on this series only halfway through the second episode but I'm not sure it'll manage to untangle these issues. I guess we'll see.

I seriously only made this account because I have been going crazy over my two new favorite lovesick homosexuals lmao. I can still remember how I found out about the Red, White and Royal Blue film, a japanese artist I follow on twitter was tweeting about how amazing it was, saw the movie poster and was like damn they're attractive why not 🤷‍♀️
Ended up using my brother's account, watched it maybe two weeks after it's official release although I wanted to wait till my book came (ordered it before I watched the movie and ofc I had to get the collector's edition) but I gave in and omg I just fell in love. Funny enough the book came the next day and I read it and fell even more for those two, I admit there's certain things I appreciate a bit more of the film like them being aged up and a bit more mature aspect to their love story (they're around my age so I guess that's why lol). But man the novel was enjoyable in it's own right, but I don't regret getting it and appreciate Casey for writing it. I have rewatched the film idk how many fucking times and still enjoy it like it's the first time, always finding new things too which is fun. That's something really special to me and I want to thank Casey, Matthew, Taylor, Nicholas and the rest of the cast and crew involved for making such a fun romance drama and comedy film that has given great comfort to me.
Also want to mention how this novel and film pushed me to be impulsive in the craziest way I never thought I'd be. Because I love both characters so much, Alex and Henry my loves but because of Alex being latino and bi (like I am) and his scene coming out to his mom (the film one lbr cuz the novel one was 😬😅), it had me mustering up the most random courage ever to come out to my mom. I'm turning 30 next year, still remember when I first realized I liked girls too and how I've kept it in for years besides my close friends knowing and thinking I'd never tell my family. My siblings are to say the least very crude and I'm sure two out of three are homophibic and I'm sure also biphobic, so telling them was never a thought but i always wondered if I could confide in my mom. It's maybe silly to say but this movie and book really struck a deep chord inside me that made me think maybe just maybe it's ok. And you know what, it was my mom was not that shocked (which I'm still like how it's not like like was checking out women left and right 🤨) but still very supportive of me. I also identify as aromantic too so I'm not really looking to be in a relationship which is what made me waver in telling her, but I have no regrets and I'm glad I did. This series gave me the courage to do something I said I never would out of fear, but in the end it ended well and a weight feels like it's been lifted off of me. This series is definitely special to me and always will be. 🥰
Don't know what to tag so yeah lol

I’m so glad we will officially get the new episode tonight. The week between episode 6 & 7 was no fun at all. Usually I looove seeing all the fanart and reading all the different thoughts in between episodes. But this time I tried to stay away from everything in fear of getting spoiled. ☹️ Stupid leak.
Yeah. And the fact that we may or may not have had a leak of parts of 9&10 makes you worried to look anywhere. I wish I at least knew if there was a real leak or not so I'd know how careful to be.
It's so bizarre. I've never been in a fandom where the leaks were this bad. I've never experienced anything like it. It makes me feel so bad for the creators. I don't think a lot of people understand how psychologically taxing it is when your work leaks. Some of that is because it can materially affect your career... Like even if someone is gonna watch/rewatch later, those same-day numbers are crucial. If even one person puts off watching the official release for a day or two because there's less urgency, that's starting to fuck up numbers.
I mean, I work in publishing, not tv, but I've seen authors get royally screwed because their book release was fucked up. Leaks or booksellers putting it on the shelf too early or people from one country buying it from another country with a different release date... Often the consumption numbers are monitored during a very specific period and if superfans are obtaining the media outside of that period, it won't be counted. (See: tv ratings, first-day streaming numbers, social media engagement numbers during premieres, presales, bestseller lists, etc.) And then if those numbers aren't reflecting the reality of how much is being consumed, it doesn't really matter. Those are still the numbers that are going to be used for negotiating contracts in the future.
Plus, like... it's just emotionally taxing to see your work leaked. Maybe only part of it leaked and it makes your work look bad and you can't adequately defend it without spoiling everything or breaking an NDA. Maybe it's leaked in a form that isn't so great (like a low quality video, an unedited draft, etc.) and you hate that this will be people's crucial first impression. But really, the worst part is no longer knowing who to trust. I know a fairly big-time author who had a trusted friend read over one of her books to edit it... then found out her friend had passed that unedited draft around to a bunch of her friends. She realized that her friend didn't respect her or her livelihood and mostly just wanted bragging rights. Now she's extremely wary about making new friends or asking for help with her manuscripts, and it's honestly really sad.
I imagine it'd be even worse if you're working on a production with so many moving parts. Do you trust your fellow actors? Fellow writers? The editors? The people working in your office? The friends who come in your house? I can't imagine the kind of tension you'd be working under when you know that leaks just keep getting out and you don't know where they're coming from. : /
And then, y'know, people are like "well, if I watch it same-day as well, that's not hurting anything, right?" but people wouldn't post leaks if other people didn't watch them, and creating demand for that kind of thing is... bad.
Like I don't like leaks from a spoiler standpoint, sure, but you start to gain a greater appreciation for how bad a leak can be when you're comforting an author crying at their kitchen table because their book release got fucked and they have contract negotiations this year...
tbh, I don't understand the mentality behind leaks at all. I have access to a lot of media often years before it comes out (between my editing work and also the paid tv/movie focus groups I often do) and I can't imagine leaking it. I guard the privacy of my clients pretty zealously. No saving unpublished manuscripts to the cloud, no offering identifying info while I'm working, etc. It's actually something I find kind of stressful, the idea that I could accidentally ruin someone else's livelihood if I'm not careful enough... The idea of doing it on purpose or through carelessness makes me cringe...
And then if I did do something by accident, like those WWDITS auditions saved with the wrong privacy settings, the idea of people finding that fuck-up and passing it around instead of letting me know so I could take it down... Like damn, when I think about the people who may never work in this industry again because people just wanted to find info on their favorite show faster... Genuinely kind of upsetting.
That said, the constant leaks, the way that no one secured the usernames for characters used onscreen (which allowed for the Colin's YT hoax), etc. have me like. Bro, who is in charge here? Y'all have a fandom now and you're still acting like a baby show on your first season. They really probably need to hire someone for this.

saint!!!! hello!!! hope you are taking care of yourself ❤️ how's work in the new department!! are you still struggling? :(
im honestly very very excited for sos!! im more excited for it than the ending of sy tbh rn💀🤩 as someone who loves space-related stories (interstellar/ star trek hehe) and angst, i have a feeling this series will be my most favourite series from you. you're really a gift that keeps on giving, from wastelands to sn/sy and now sos?! phew 😮‍💨
2WEI (they're a band that makes trailer music/ film scores) recently released an epic cover called "mad world" and i can really imagine it being the perfect music to encapsulate sos vibes 😭😭
i have a few qns about the series!! if it's too early for you to answer them, you don't have to do so now 😅
1. from the synopsis and your answers for some asks, im assuming that og!gojo and some other crew members died somehow before the ship got sucked into the blackhole? pain 🙃 hopefully he is still miraculously alive to save yn 🙏🏽
3. is there any elements of magic in it? something like wanda's powers etc.
4. how many chapters of sos are you planning to write?
5. how futuristic is the earth-like planet multiverse!gojo lives in? is it like meet the robinsons kind of (very) futuristic or marvel kind of (a little) futuristic?
6. is sos the next series you gonna write after sy? or are you planning to write another one before sos? (im not rushing you! just curious when you are planning to writing it)
7. since it's a multiverse, are we going to see a glimpse of sn/sy!gojoyn in another universe 👀 maybe you can write this in if they don't get together/ a happy ending in the current series 😂 HAHA
ps. will be waiting patiently for sos playlist 🤤 thank you and i hope you have a great weekend ahead 🛰🛸
my official transition will begin this monday!! 😭 and wowow thank you very much!! it honestly makes my heart flutter whenever i get asks about s.o.s. even tho i’ve only posted the synopsis :’) i wanna pour my heart and soul into it like i did with wastelands. i also just rewatched interstellar a few days ago and will take same inspos from it !! :) and thank u for the song rec. listening to it right now hehe
1. cannot answer that :p you won’t see og!gojo for a while until like when we get to the part where multiverse!gojo watches yn’s old memories through the screen. it’s one of the heartbreaking scenes for me i think :’)
2. no magic or even actual aliens :(
3. maybe around 10-15? no sequel
4. it’s like hunger games capitol type of futuristic (minus the fashion) and they don’t identify as earth. they have four moons, pink skies, auburn soil.
5. s.o.s. is next in line!! probably at the same time when sn started. around early may?
6. funny thing is i actually just thought it’d be fun to bring in a cameo of sn/sy gojo 😆 writing a multiverse fic holds a lot of power!!

Music of Blindspot
The music of Blindspot 2x10 - Nor I, Nigel, AKA Leg In Iron
Another one that's several weeks delayed, but I'm still catching up on the rewatch, and honestly this episode is SO INTENSE that it's hard to focus on any one thing at any moment!
This week's post is fairly short and mostly nonsense. This ep has a lot of borrowing and recycling of sounds from different season 1 tracks and although they're largely in bigger, more identifiable chunks than previous season 2 episodes, there's very little that strikes me as particularly compelling in terms of themes. I feel like I should state again that I'm by no means a music critic, composer, or anything remotely in that realm, but my impression as a Dork Who Likes Soundtracks is that they were probably going more for feelings and ambiance rather than actual callbacks and references. Either that or the holidays and omicron have rotted my brain (eminently possible tbh), because if they're there, I'm not hearing them this week. Links will be sparing but there'll be at least a couple.
As always, all music is composed by Blake Neely and Sherri Chung; I’m getting nothing out of this except an excuse to re-watch with my own little auditory memory mini-game. Please don’t do anything shady with the YouTube links; I don’t want to get the OPs in trouble or we could lose access to this awesome content. Also note that linked music recycled from season 1 was released on an official soundtrack, which is still purchasable on iTunes etc. And it's good to support the things we love! :D
Post is behind a cut, because it’s long and at this point, almost entirely spoilers. :D
~~~~~
When Thornton is confessing to Patterson (tied to a table) about why he joined Sandstorm - for his late wife - the music is not the same but reminds me a lot of Ultimate Polygraph in 2x01 - different melody but similar sound/instruments/structure from the moment when Nas asked about Oscar, and Jane's (tied to a chair) confession really got underway. This comment means absolutely nothing, I just thought it's neat. There are a lot of instances of "similar but different" between Jane and Borden apart from their shared history; for example Patterson's attempt to arrest him at the end of the previous episode ("FBI, you're under arrest... whoever you are") struck me as a really similar vibe to "So if Taylor Shaw is dead, who the hell are you?" at the end of 1x23.
The fight in the diner is a veritable root veg mash of season 1 fight scene sounds. I'm not gonna try to tease that apart, but if you think it's funky try tracks from season 1 like "Field Trip" or "Exploding Art" or "No Love in an Elevator".
We're still getting a lot of Torn Apart sans "The Truth Can Save You" (season 1) elements. On first watch, it was around this point where I really started to think of Torn Apart as the "Roman and Remi" theme specifically as opposed to "Jane is conflicted" or "Jane's past/family" more generally, because it increasingly centers around Roman and ditches the "Jellery" bit.
So here's something not really related to this episode but I don't know why I haven't said before now (and it's gonna get weirder the longer I put it off... really I should do a season 1 OST post at some point): when I say "Jellery" bit, I'm of course referring to elements (esp. perc) borrowed from The Truth Can Save You, which we call the Jeller Theme because it tends to come up whenever Jeller are having Very Emotional Shippy Moments. But Torn Apart isn't the first track to borrow it: you can hear a variation on the same underpinning "Learn to Trust" (also from the season 1 OST)... which is the piece from the end of 1x11 when Jane goes to meet Oscar for the first time... and that borrowed "Jellery" bit I keep referring to kicks in right when she's at the crossroads deciding whether to go to the park or to the tower.
When Shepherd first starts interrogating Patterson - There's nothing I'm picking up on here specifically that's of note, but I'm listing it anyway because it (especially the piano near the end, as she's first introducing the needle) very vaguely made me think of Departed Host and I got nostalgic and wanted to highlight that amazing track because imo it's one of the best standalones from S1 and everyone should listen to it absent the dialogue at least once. That is a run-on sentence and a half and my English teachers would be scandalized, so I may as well compound their suffering by continuing this sentence ad infinitum as well, and tell you that's the piece from the end of 1x20 that covers the montage of Mayfair's hotel suite date with Alexandra, Jeller and Sawyer playing Uno, Jane spying on Oscar, and Mayfair discovering Alexandra's body.
I also forgot to ask, but how would Ash end up revealing his true form during Hoenn? If he even does.
I'm not entirely sure when, specifically, he tells them. There are some things I've figured out though: It's after Ash's official gym battle with Norman, but before the incident with Groudon and Kyogre. He tells them when he feels he can trust them, though I'd have to rewatch the show to figure out when specifically would be the best time for that.
I do know how he reveals it though: once he feels he can trust them, he decides to just tell them. This is, in part, to solidify a precedent for Ash to be willing to tell his companions for no particular reason other than that he trusts them. This is why he tells them before the Groudon and Kyogre incident, as that is something where I could see him deciding to eschew his identity, considering the stakes (the Jirachi incident was before he trusted them fully, and also too close to a town) and the fact that he can hide his releasing the mirage by diving underwater since they're on the open ocean. This means it would also happen before any situation far enough from civilization where he would feel that he needs to release his illusion for some reason. (Come to think of it, the Secret Garden episode where May gets her Bulbasaur would definitely qualify, so between Ash beating Norman and May getting Bulbasaur.)
Ope and then I missed that you replied - but yeah!! Tales builds are so cool!! <3 I'm just, so excited now that Tales is officially back for its second season, so it's like! Karl has plans!! And stories in mind!! So whether or not Ranboo is involved or who the other time traveler is, they feel like questions we're actually going to get answers to? Which I hadn't even realised I was missing but I'm so psyched it's coming back. And especially since Karl has said he's gonna show what happens before he time travels, like, I'm so excited to see Karl on the SMP and then jump into a Tale. And being pretty much new to Kingdom Hearts, I'm glad that my kind of intro to it and its themes are just you and Karl being really into it as well svdgshs
And yeaaah, yeah, both the Overseers are so interesting - like, the shift from these huge mysterious structures/dimensions, now to people Karl can actually talk face-to-face with. And that's a fair point, that the Other Side wants Karl to fill it out so it can achieve what DreamXD made it for! I was going in thinking that the dimensions, like, specifically wanted Karl and his time travel abilities for some other purpose they weren't saying, but just in terms of doing what dXD wants them to, that would explain why they're just trying to make themselves look as beneficial as possible to Karl. Both dimensions seem so invested in preserving all the time travel stories in different ways, it really makes me wonder why, and how it's related to Karl forgetting as he time travels. Like, we already know he's forgetting so much of his original life, but has he forgotten any of his time travel trips? Is he losing all his memory, or just stuff not related to time traveling?
Hhh, yes, the Maze!! Like, I do really appreciate that Karl aims to keep the Tales to 1-2 hours. It helps keep the stories manageable and more simple and easy to rewatch. But at the same time, I would love to see them wandering the maps a little, like in a non-canon After the Tales or by releasing the downloads or something. But like!! All the parallels between just the Maze and the rest of the series, I'm so excited to see what else will be foreshadowed in future episodes? Like. The thematic consistency is so good.
But!!! I know!!! The Overseer of the Inbetween showing up and presenting itself in a still friendly light and saying it didn't cause the whole breakdown thing puts it in such an interesting context?? Like. Maybe DreamXD could've done it, if he was trying to push Karl to the Other Side, but then, why not just bring Karl to DreamXD World earlier if that's the case, right? The idea of the Other Side breaking down and doing the same thing is terrifying, too, like!! When the Inbetween got corrupted, the normally bright parts of it went dark, the clear skies went rainy, it started abjectly teleporting Karl around and gaslighting him. If the Other Side did it, like. The only thing I can imagine right now is trying to trap Karl in the different memory sections to keep him there longer? Maybe going so bright as to be blinding? And yeah, with the confirmation of a previous time traveler, it does seem likely that they were leaving the books for Karl in the Inbetween. Which also makes the bloody room under the tree much more terrifying in context?? And I'm really curious if we're going to see any hints of the other time traveler in the Other Side, or if they only ever got to the Inbetween before DreamXD got rid of them. There is!! So much to learn there!!
Gosh, Honk. Honk the beloved. <333 So much of Honk's motivation throughout season 1 was just, surviving, more or less? Trying to keep Karl's memory intact and dealing with what the Inbetween threw at them. And now, they both know a little more about what they're dealing with, and Karl has a bit more control over what happens because he can choose whether to go to the Inbetween or Other Side, but Honk still has so little he can directly affect, and ahhhhh. Hopefully many talks between the two of them to figure out exactly what they both want and need going forward. And with the reveal of the Overseers now, imagining them interacting directly with Honk? If the Inbetween Overseer was aware of Karl's lost memories going to Honk, or was the cause of it, like, imagine a confrontation between them and Honk? Also both of them trying to figure out what did make the Inbetween break down, because if I'm remembering correctly, that affected Honk, too. Or even either Overseer trying to use Honk to get Karl on their side more, which would just be even more ahhhhhh!
Also, unrelated, but I do love coming back to your blog after a while and seeing the Undercover Agents pinned post because then I get to relisten to more Enter Shikari and feel more Honk things <333
DEAR GOD THE TIMESTAMP. I KNEW THIS WAS SITTING IN MY INBOX FOR MONTHS BUT I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS NEARLY HALF A YEAR hi hello i've had a busy year so far so i haven't really been keeping up with mcyt but solar has successfully dragged me back into it SO, PREDICTABLY, I AM THINKING ABOUT SPAU
(i was gonna rewatch the inbetween segments before answering this but then i just wanted to Say Words Very Much so. [kirby and the forgotten land voice] AND HERE WE ARE!)
yeah s2 of tales has been just. so good. and then also its taking a billion months for the next one to drop so at least its not just me LKCFHGKG but ohhh my god it really feels like things are coming together. all of the mysteries laid out in s1 are finally getting brought to the forefront and we're getting SOME answers. which of course raises only more questions and fuels the fire!! it's so good!!
i think so far karl's like.. basically being used as storage. all of his memory of his life before he started traveling is getting overwritten with the tales, and now it's a matter of what he can do about it. choosing the Other Side might lead to him fully embracing that, making those added-on memories tangibly real, while the inbetween keeps promising to find a way for karl to get his original memories Back while still pressing about how vital it is for karl to continue writing it down. karl sees the other side as morally right, but if the inbetween's overseer is right that the presence in the inbetween wasn't part of the plan then like.. maybe the inbetween COULD be helpful after all? but then it's a matter of trust because, like, karl does not have Any reason to trust what the inbetween's overseer said. they could easily be lying out their ass like how the books in the inbetween were.
i want to see the other side get fucked up so bad. i want that to be what pushes karl to Take A Third Option, to start looking for the cracks, because he can't trust either of these places and he belongs on the smp with his friends and loved ones that dXD's taking away from him. it's just a matter if he can find a way out before it's too late, if it's not too late already.
(as a side note, solar is absolutely unhinged about mr. cycle and the endless loop of the maze and i have to agree. the maze was SO GOOD.)
HONK IS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE AND HE HATES IT SO MUCH LMAO like. karl has a choice in his destiny but honk kinda doesn't. he's being yanked around by entities just as much, if not moreso bc the inbetween presence is In His Brain, but also he's bound to karl on a level that cannot be broken. he's grasping for a way to help, to stabilize, but there's less and less he can do as time goes on-- and the more karl learns about himself, the more honk finds himself feeling lost and confused. what's his point? what's his purpose? what's he gonna do if karl chooses the other side and leaves him behind?
(not that karl would ever leave honk behind, but the fear's there anyway.)
and like.. yeah the inbetween overseer already has a pretty strong foothold through honk! but it's also something honk is actively fighting back against because he hates the situation karl's in, he hates the situation he's in, he doesn't want to be a tool or a weapon to keep karl in line but like, as much as the theme of s2 so far seems to be about Choices honk sure as hell doesn't have one. or at least thinks he doesn't. maybe that'll change, too.
Tumblr media
OH MAN YEAH!!! love it when minecraft mechanics make things go fucky. which is unsurprising now that i think about it bc the foundation of spau is "hey what if there was a minecraft update that was fucked up" FDGKLHXDFLJGHFJG
thanks for the tag!!
— favorite time of the year: I like the vibes of late autumn (think November) in general, but unfortunately there is only one season where I live and it's called hell, so I'd have to say that midwinter is the only tolerable time of the year
— comfort food: maybe borsch. I eat it very rarely because I just don't have many opportunities to do so, but when I do...oghhh,,,,, hg. it's so good
— do you collect something: I collect a lot of things. my room is just a giant dumpster for random things my brain decided I needed to keep. but to name a specific category, then random small figurines
— favorite drink: tea, probably. specifically black tea with honey. also, I kinda collect teas too. I just really like loose-leaf teas, so I buy them every once in a while. they're a little pricy sometimes, but they last a long time, and I deserve little treats sometimes
(this is the part where my ao3 readers realize where I got the inspiration for the tea subplot in O Overcoat)
— current favorite song: currently I've been playing DESOLATION by ETERNVL SVDNESS a lot. I know the title and artist name look really weird, but phonk songs are just Like That. also yeah I've been unironically enjoying phonk lately. if you want a more normal song, then Зависимость by pyrokinesis is the last song with words I had on repeat for more than a week
— favorite colors: I like cool grays and desaturated dark blues. I also like the color combination of dark blues/teals and bright reds
— last song: IC3PEAK - Vacuum
— last series: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun). it was really funny but I'm too embarrassed to ever recommend it to anyone
— last movie: I rewatched Dead Apple recently, but that's about it
— sweet, savoury, or spicy: savory definitely. I like sweets, but the concept of something being Too sweet is very real. I also unfortunately have a fairly low spice tolerance. like, I like spicy things in moderation, but eventually it gets to the point where I can't taste the food anymore because of my mouth being on fire
— craving: uhhhhhhhh like. the ability to actually work on things and get things done and just do anything with my time really. also borsch. mentioning it earlier really made me want it again
— currently working on: nothing really, but I'll pretend I'm actually working on my art and writing wips. I also should be working on my internship work, but I've been so busy being overwhelmed by the prospect of having to do one (1) task that I just couldn't do anything at all. very fun. oh and also I'm "reading" Storm Bringer, because the official translation just released
tagging: @dopposboytoy @smol-bean-of-the-smols @depressed-eldritch-horror @walking-meme @fulminare-art
tag game!!
tagged by: @seapasture! thanks sm for tagging me!! :)
— favorite time of the year: autumn! it's the best time of the year to sit in trees and read books.
— comfort food: lemon or zucchini bread!
— do you collect something: i'm a huge collector. i collect a lot of books, especially old russian or japanese literature. i also like collecting bones, knives, crystals/gemstones/cool rocks, and small statues (usually dragons, skulls, snakes... stuff of that nature). although probably the most odd thing that i collect would be antique, hand-painted ceramic cats. i have several of them.
— favorite drink: thai tea! though black coffee with honey is a close second.
— current favorite song: either rock + roll by EDEN or would that i by hozier.
— favorite colors: dark reds and earthy browns.
— last song: borderline by tame impala
— last series: i just finished rewatching death note with my little brother the other day. i'm still trying to figure out what i should watch next, i haven't been able to find anything that holds my interest ever since i reread bsd (a few months ago sjsj).
— last movie: i'm not sure, actually. it's been a while since i've actually sat down and watched a movie.
— sweet, savoury, or spicy: sweet, probably. i also really like spicy foods, even though i tend to be pretty sensitive to spiciness.
— craving: reading in a cat café again. i haven't had time to do it for so long.
— currently working on: nothing big, honestly. i've mostly been doing doodles here and there (and it's all of the same character). i'm hoping to find some inspiration to actually work on something soon.
tagging: @2offayyo-kzt, @lowestechelonabomination, @shittydazai, and anyone who wants to! no pressure to anyone i tagged, though! i'm still super nervous about tagging people, sorry if this is annoying, let me know if you don't want me to ajsjsjsj
i think it was because god's menu was released around the same bp and svt made their comebacks. same thoughts tho on gm > bd and i was also glad that bd got the wins gm didn't. and same with the streaming mvs while studying : ] ahh, the easily distracted people we are. (reading cut and litol font bc poor ppl who see this on the dash TT)
i've heard chinese ballads (usually osts of films and from a chinese friend) and their songs really tend to tug on my heartstrings. i hope sm gives shotaro more stuff to do soon :[ with some of the units being active and sungchan being an mc on a weekly show, it makes me wonder what he's doing. do you think nct will form a new subunit?
no, i'm not lactose intolerant so it really took me by surprise. it was a one-time thing. hopefully it doesn't happen again. i can't really say i'm a big fan of ice cream but it's good occasionally yk as a treat to yourself. and ahhh, i miss drinking smoothies. my favorite stall has been closed for nearly two years now, idk if they ever re-opened since our city mall burned down :[
i think it's an nct thing? it's why i never get tired of them bc they're always active in a way. you should've seen how things went down last year! march 127 album, april dream mini-album, may 127 repackage, june wayv album and the whole nct 2020 thing. it was a wild year. about the track, i listened to it once and forgot about it. might give it a few more listens but it might not grow on me at all. yes! wasn't a big fan of hot sauce at first too bc i thought the intro was weird (not jaemin's part, like the first thing that plays). and yes, that hook loops in my head 24/7. i even made it my instagram bio.
stray kids world domination indeed! and i agree that their performances were really impressive (specially the deadpool one, best one yet) but sometimes i would fancy ateez' more. i didn't watch kingdom too bc it stressed me out as a multi. always caught between being happy for one group and being sad for the others. and atz and tbz! you're still getting into nct and you're thinking of adding 19 more boys! judging from what i know your taste in music is, i think you'll like tbz's music better since there are a lot more soft songs there than in atz. but do give both discographies a listen in the future!
oh izone! i've only heard of them at music shows and dance choreo compilations bc of them being in sync. they're really satisfying to watch! i thought their title tracks were catchy as well! quite unfortunate that i never got into them really. but again, i dont think i can handle stanning temporary groups.
i'm starting to see a pattern in your biases :D i wouldn't be too surprised if you'll be drawn to jeno at some point in your dream venture. dream is soooo easy to love so if you really end up ulting them, i would understand why. and also, YES PLEASE WRITE FOR DREAM AND TAG ME IF YOU WILL. THANK YOU ><
thank you! :c don't get your hopes up tho, the masterlist must've been interesting to browse but are the fics truly worth it? XD i think not. since you already know koe, i'm reccing users @/rouiyan, @/nsheetee and @/loonacitys. i don't have that much fluff in my ficrecs blog. i think, i've heard of lvdsc before (maybe even read a fic or two) but i can't find their blog now. be careful in privating your works, you might end up losing them forever if you don't keep track of their links...(?) that's what happened to the works that i privated :/ take me with you if you move blogs ;n;
seungmin frequently left updates abt what he was doing, left good nights and good mornings, the occasional i miss you. he called fans 'baby' once. not sure if it was a mistranslation, or really just a one-time endearment. other than that, nothing beyond the usual. seung vlives always make me cry ;n; he always look so adorable and precious. also the gif, the fic was more on fake head-butting really but yes you could say it was also a fake nose boop bc it sounds cuter. i'll make sure to tag you on future seung content on the dash. (time to officially claim him as your ult, yes. dont make him secret anymore :3)
sorry it took me a while. tumblr went batshit. the ' werkl;' stopped working midway and i got busy with school yesterday. also haechan birth today and i'm so emo abt it. it's literally just a boy turning 21.
little font and cut saga lets go!!
(just kidding, i cant do little font typing for long periods of time, makes my eyes go beserk haha.)
true true, im afraid for txt on music shows now because theyre going against some big names (literally bts like whatj jsdf what was hybe thinking). yeah, streaming mvs while studying aka watching mvs on loop lmao. i still want to stream skzs final kingdom performance on instinct but i remember that theyve already won!! hehe
ah chinese ballads always make me emo, i like to scream out lyrics to the songs at the top of my lungs and sit there on the verge of tears. its a cultural thing maybe *sobs*. ooh, what show is sungchan mc-ing in? ill check it out. i thought sm would make nct japan for sungtaro (i heard sungchan speaks japanese) so it was a shocker when they made...nct hollywood lmao. given the current circumstances we're probably not going to get a new subunit anytime soon :( hopefully taro will have stuff to showcase during that period of time.
burned down?? oh my, what happened to your mall? that sounds terrifying. i remember when the front of my school caught on fire and we were all ushered out but we thought it was a drill and didnt find out till years later lmao.
oh true, since theyre such a big pack too. constant comebacks and promotions haha, nctzens never catch a break with 23 members. i listened to the new track again (ive forgotten the name already) but i cant- i cant do it. its just not my style hhh. i rewatched the mv for the godly visuals though. i dont know if youre talking about that 'bibididibibidiododo' part by that female morphed voice at the beginning of the song, because i wasnt a fan of that too. it grew on me though.
same, actually! im not an atiny and dont stan any other group in the show besides skz but i watched each groups performance and ranked them haha. at times ateez would rank over skz, it was wild. also yeah, my other multi friend was freaking out about kingdom and ended up abandoning the show because she was so scared of the fanwars and having to deal with her 'conflicting feelings'. about the stanning thing, in my defense, i have a list of groups i want to stan and ive recently added tbz and atz. the list is long, i have a long way to go! also yeah, i dont prefer ateez's songs and i have a bunch of tbz title tracks in my playlist but if i approach their discography like i did with nct then i think i would like at least five songs.
izone are my queens. theres a reason why theyre the only girl group who made it to my ult list haha! super talented and filled with variety and visuals, a perfectly concocted group (literally, sobs in pd48 scandal). ah, temporary groups. yeah i cried about their disbandment for like 3 days straight, it was bad.
a pATTERN?? INTERESTING. DO ELABORATE. jeno, oh my gosh hes like bang chan. an intimidating-looking bear whos actually filled with love and softness on the inside. im currently having a jaemin run though, his make a wish fancam is doing some wacky things. also yeah, dream is really easy to love. i fell for them so hard, theyre all talented and cute and adorable and the team ambiance is so nice. really rising up my stan list now. i mightt write for dream! ill have to see, hehe.
personally i think the fics are going to be worth it. i can feel it in my boOOnes. ooh, recommendations! fun :D ill check them (and yours) out after i finish this 30k jisung fic. ive been trying to finish it since yesterday but i keep getting sidetracked. also, i made a mistake. its luvdsc with a 'u', maybe thats why you couldnt find it? ahh. thank you for the privating tip though! will keep in mind. and of course ill take you with me if/when i move blogs. we're friends now! <3
SEUNGMIN CALLED STAYS 'BABY'???!!@)(@#*()! I SHOULDVE BEEN THERE ASKDFJDF. im exciting for the fake nose boop drabble!! i love soft couple moments hehe. also yeah maybe its time to make him my ult...hes going to have to compete against jake my beloved ope.
dont worry about being 'late' or anything! we all have our own stuff to do. also yeah tumblr is weird asf sometimes. if you havent realized i typically answer longer asks around the same time everyday, when i get to sit in front of my computer and pull out my clickity-clackity keyboard. super relaxing.
AND YES HYUCKIE DAY!!! HES SO ADORABLE HONESTLY. im in love with all seven members of dream, my fic rec blog is currently filled with fics for them haha.
