I love ice dance, I hate ice dance. Because LaLa outscoring the Italians on the technical side and the Italians getting better points for choreo... that is not something I can defend. Skating skills? Sure, whatever. Choreo? Really? Are we sure about that? Are we absolutely sure? (anyways, LaLa won)

and i was a long time (but quiet) guignard/fabbri defender when everyone was calling them boring, not because they weren’t boring but because they had (imo) best skating skills in terms of edge quality and clean turns of the field, but it doesn’t feel like they even have that any more.

it almost feels like they saw bock win two world titles with…let’s be kind and call it iffy skating and weird free dances and we’re like “we need to do that” and in doing so they’ve turned down the big thing that people liked them for. lala can get messy when it comes to edge work, so if g/f had beat them in skating skills and step sequence levels with something like their 2022 free, i would’ve been like “yeah, fair” but this just feels bogus.
