now that im an adult and am over a decade removed from some of the Worst years of my childhood/adolescence, i genuinely did experience so much gender dysphoria. like whyd i have to go through that at such a young age!!! i was a child
#not that its any better to experience it now but it just makes me so sad to look back at it you know? to know that there is a version#of myself who is so young and all she wants to do is d*e bc shes disgusted by her body in a way that she doesnt even have#the words to talk about or rationalize to herself. like i had no idea what was going on or what i was feeling. all i knew was that i felt#wrong and bad and weird and like my body wasnt what it should be bc up until i was around 8 i didnt know what gender really even Was#like obviously i knew that like boys and girls are different but that was in the way that little kids know differences. it wasnt deep#or nuanced at all it was all rooted in stereotypes and cliches or w/e you wanna call it but like. i didnt have a real grasp at what#'boy' or 'girl' meant in terms of gender. so when i started to get older and noticed differences in myself vs. the version of myself#that i thought i was normal i was so confused and lost and scared and horrified and i didnt know WHY. and it was only made worse bc#i went thru puberty at such a young age. like i was 8. i was 8 years old and had no idea what was happening! i just knew that something#abt the way i was feeling was wrong and i just...i dealt with it alone. i hid my thoughts away and would cry myself to sleep at night#and wonder why i was feeling that way. i genuinely thought i was all alone and like no one else ever felt like that. how could i have known#anything else?? i had no one to talk to. i had few friends and a family i cannot trust. all i had was myself. and myself was just...lost#just a very lost very scared very sad little girl. and that is how i was until i was a teenager and learned a little bit abt the nuances of#gender and sexuality and all of that...but even then it still didnt get much better. i just got better at hiding it all.#like i shouldnt have gone through all of that. nobody deserves a childhood like that; not a single person.#🎆.txt#dysphoria

3.0 out of 5 stars fun book but not for kids. This is Def. not for kids... It's even "iffy" for teenagers...I'm sure the older teens would enjoy this fun filled picture book but it's not for kids. My 8 year old is a huge fan for some reason and I decided to get it for her but I skimmed through it before giving it to her and I ultimately had to return it.again, its all in good fun but not for kids. It references a lot of teenage/ young college girl situations such as sex, porn, how to pick up boys, different type of buys such as flings/ boyfriends/ one night stands, also has a section that suggests Porn (jokingly), etc... 4.0 out of 5 stars Know Miranda, know your child, skim it first. I read all the negative reviews AFTER I got the book. I agree with a few things; Miranda's videos are much better, but if you're a big Mirfanda you'll have fun with the book. As for the complaints about spelnig errreors etc. Really? The book patterned after Miranda's unique take on her own language, obviously some folks are not familiar with Miranda sings and therefor should not shoot her down for this.As for the book being inappropriate? I agree fully there are a few sections/pages that should have been omitted entirely considering the target audience is pre-teens, specifically the 4 pages on puberty which begin on page-60 (they come with a warning, but it's hard to take seriously because nothing is serious in this book).This crass stuff should have been left out, as should the page on wiping (page-155). Pages 60 thru 63 deal with porn as only Miranda can, and I agree it is not a good fit for those who have kids too young or at a level to deal with this topic, although it's handled in true Miranda style. If the age and level of awareness are right, it is very funny.These valid points stole the 5th star.You will enjoy the rest of it if you are a true Mirfanda. I recommend skimming it first!10/23/15 Update: Finally got around to giving my daughter this book (note, she's 14 1/2). She does a very very good impression of Miranda Sings, she's reading the book in her Miranda Sings voice and I am rolling on the floor! Just a hint if you really want to ramp up the fun. Go to Amazon

To get the most out of this book please drink high alcoholic beverages while reading.Okay, in all seriousness now… This is a funny self help book. The intention of this book is to make you laugh and it definitely delivers on that part. When I bought this book I actually was not familiar with Miranda Sings. This is not a "serious" book, nor is it a "increase-your-IQ- book". This is a great book for when you've had a busy week and you just want to relax, and pour yourself a glass of wine, and just laugh.If you have a sense of humor, you'll love this book. 3.0 out of 5 stars I actually ripped out all of the bad pages and have her the book I'm not really sure what age group this is for. Bought it for my 8 year old daughter. I went through it and a lot of it is innapropriate. There is a lot of talk about porn and other things. I actually ripped out all of the bad pages and have her the book. Some of it is funny though. My advice is to go through it first if it's for a young child Go to Amazon
