hi :) i had a dream abt sero & here we are !!!
MDNI âŒïžâŒïž
2.6k !!
sero x y/n
warnings: sero hanta. come eating? very small, sero is kinda mean, one mention of sir, fucking against a window, pet names? angel, princess, sweetheart & puppy. uhhhh idk what else to put đ”âđ«
i hope you like it đȘđ
There is nothing that pisses Sero off like rude reporters. Reporters, who he knows would never be able to do what he does. Most of the time he can keep his temper in control. Not today, though. It's been a very long day. All he wanted to do was get home to you. But his agency made him go to a press conference. The nerve of these people.
Thereâs blinding lights, flashes, and too many fucking people. He grins and takes it. It's part of the job. It's been a long day. It was almost over with; he was almost scot free. Then, some stupid asshole reporter had to open his mouth.
âCellophane! Cellophane! So⊠youâre in the top 10. We all can recognize that. Although, whatâs it like knowing youâll never be at the top?â The nameless reporter has a smug look on his face. Sero is going to fix that.
âWell, um. Sir. Itâs funny you have the audacity to ask me such a moronic question; we both know you would never have what it takes to be here, in my spot. Iâm not doing this to be the top hero. I'm doing this because I care about my country. Why do I need to be at the top to do that? I can obviously tell youâre just envious youâll never be at the top. Fucking beautiful women, miles above the city. A real pity it is to be you, isnât it?â
Sero laughs hysterically off the stage and makes his way home to you.
You were watching Seroâs press conference biting your lip anxiously. You know how rough his day was and how bad he just wanted to come home. You knew the second that idiot opened his mouth, Sero was gonna stop caring about saving face. You were so embarrassed when Sero talking about fucking women; you knew he was implying you. One of his favorite things to do in his penthouse high above the city was fuck you against the large window. It was scary. It was exhilarating. He loved knowing he could ruin you and none of the little ants below would ever realize what he was doing. He fucking loved it.
You were more bashful about it, but he knows how much you liked the adrenaline of looking down while he abuses your cunt on his cock.
Your body is tingling with anticipation. Youâre getting everything all tidy for him. You want to do whatever you can to make his mood lift, even if it is a little bit. His dinner is warm for him and get him a nice, cold beer in hopes itâll wind him down.
You hear him grumbling when he stomps through the front door and he looks so angry, so irritated. Then he sees you, standing by the table with a nervous smile on your face and all that anger melts away.
He smiles and makes his way over to you, âHi, sweetheart. Did you miss me?â
you lean up to kiss him and whisper into the kiss, âI always do, Hanta.â
He kisses you a few more times before he tickles your neck with his mouth and you canât really help the elated giggles you let out.
âGo shower, Hanta. You smell like youâre covered in sweat. Your dinner and I will be waiting for you to come back!â
âOf course I smell like sweat. I am covered in sweat.â
He stalks off grumbling. All he wants to do is hold you and kiss you. He supposes a quick rinse wonât hurt. After all, making you pleased is one of his favorite things to do.
Youâre fussing with your phone when he comes out, a cute little furrow on your brow. He hates it. He wants to get rid of it. He wraps his big arms around you and grunts in your ear, âWhat are you doing that has you so worked up, princess?â
You yelped and threw your phone when you felt his arms encircle you.
âN-nothing, Hanta. It's nothingâŠâ
He quirks a perfectly sculpted brow at you. âYeah? Then why did you throw your phone? Are you being⊠naughty, puppy?
Your insides are vibrating in anticipation. âNo, no. Of course not, Hanta. Someone just sent me an article about that asshole at the press conference and I didn't want you to seeâŠâ
He tchs at you. âEnough of that shit, princess. I don't want to deal with any of that bullshit for the rest of the night. Alright? Iâll deal with the consequences tomorrow, at the agency. Right now the only thing I want isâŠâ
He's attacking your neck with such an intense vigor you canât help but moan out.
âB-but, Hanta⊠your food is getting cold!â
He licks a stripe up your neck before nipping at it; making you squeal in response.
âActually, I have everything I need in my arms right now.
He manhandles you so your ass is directly on top of his hard cock, âThis is the only thing I need tonight, puppy. Are you going to be good for me?â
âYes, yes sir. I'll be whatever you want me to be, Hanta.â
He groans at how good you are to him and presses your body down so he can watch himself rub his cock against your sweet, little ass.
âYou look so good bent over like this for me, donât you, princess?â
âGimme more, Hanta. Please, missed you so much all dayâŠâ
He releases you from his hold and you're about to whine out for him to come back.
âShut up. Go in the room and strip for me, yeah? Gonna make you feel so good, angel. Promise.â
You're dashing away from him before he can blink and he laughs loudly at your eagerness. You've always been such a good girl for him. It makes your heart beat faster hearing how happy you can make him just by listening to his instructions.
Sero waits a bit, smashes a bottle of water in the hopes it'll give you enough time to be stripped and waiting for him. He doesn't want to punish you tonight. Sometimes he enjoys it. But tonight, he just wants you to be his sweet, obedient little puppy. His cock throbs at the thought of you taking him like the good little bitch you are.
He slowly makes his trek to your shared bedroom, salivating at imagining what you look like waiting for him. It's even better than he could have hoped for. You're on your knees, in the middle of your bed wearing absolutely nothing with a sweet smile on your precious face.
âBaby⊠donât you just look so pretty for me?â
âYes, sir.â
God, he loves when you're like this. So sweet; so willing to please. To do whatever debauched thing he wants you to do.
âCome here, angel.â
You slowly remove yourself from the bed and walk so slowly over to him. Basking in the way his eyes trail all over your body.
He smirks devilishly down at you, âThis all for me, puppy?â
You look away from his eyes with a sweet blush adoring your cheeks, âOf course, Hanta. It's only ever for you.â
âPlace your hands against the window, sweetheart.â
You canât do anything but obey. You're absolutely quivering in excitement. Sex with Sero is always such an exerience. He's always so good to you.
He drops to his knees and spreads your cheeks so he can see your cunt tighten around nothing.
âWow, puppy. You're dripping. You're a nasty little thing, aren't you?â
There is no time for you to reply when you feel his face so close to your cunt. And he inhales. Fuck. its so embarassing but it always makes you so fucking wet.
He moves you up a little bit so you can feel his warm tongue on your clit.
He flicks his tongue on it before he's shoving it inside as far as he can get it. Just because he likes to feel you clench on it. He takes one of his fingers and starts softly rubbing your clit and the reaction is instant. You're clenching down so hard he thinks you're gonna trap his tongue inside you forever.
âM-more, Hanta. Give me moreâŠâ
Who is he to deny you when you're asking him so sweetly? He starts to rub figure 8âs onto your clit, putting only the slightest bit of extra pressure on it. Itâs driving you insane. You want more.
âMore, Hanta! Before I-â
And then he stops. Tears stream down your face when he moves away and you look down at him when you see the look on his face.
âWhat was that, puppy? Was that a threat? You're supposed to be my good girl, and here you are acting like a fucking brat. I was ready to devour your sweet cunt just the way you like it, but I guess I can't even do that. Such a shame.â
âW-wait, Hanta. Iâm s-â
âAh, ah, ah. Too late for apologies, sweetheart. I wanted to take my time, but I guess I'll just have to take what I want instead.â
Now, sometimes. You love when Hanta takes his time. When he builds you up, up, and up. And the other times, you love when he just takes what he wants with you. Does he make you come? Sure. but he makes himself come first. There is something so utterly, so undeniably sexy about your sweet, precious hero using you like a cock sleeve.
Youre dripping down your thighs, itâs a nasty mess and sero fucking loves it. He strips down to nothing and forces your body around so you're facing him. You look so cute and fucked out waiting for him to shove his fat cock in your pussy. You're biting your lip, looking at him up and down. Staring so longingly at his cock.
âWhat are you staring at my dick for? Acting like you donât know I'm about to shove this whole thing inside you, huh, sweetheart?â
âYouâre just so pretty, Hanta⊠I can't help myself sometimes.â
He chuckles at how cute you can be. Even when he's about to wreck your cunt.
Sero makes his way over to you; lightly grazing his hard cock around your soaking pussy lips.
âF-fuck, Hanta, you feel so goodâŠâ
âYeah? Of course I do. Itâs not about you right now though, is it, puppy?â
You blink up at him, unseeing. All you can think about is how nice his cock feels gliding against your pussy lips. He grabs one of your legs and puts it over his arm. You look so happy, so eager to please him it makes his tip drip with pre.
With no warning at all he slides his dick inside you as slowly as possible. You want him to shove it in rough, all at once. He knows this. Which is why he takes his sweet time. Watching your face twist in pleasure.
âHanta, you're so big, pleaseâŠâ
âCan you shut up? For once?â
He grabs your other leg to go over his other arm and presses your back against the cold glass.
Heâs unmoving. Feeling your cunt clench around him. Knowing how bad you want him to move. He doesn't give two fucks.
âIâm going to ruin you right here. Against this window. Above the world. This is my cunt, you know? I don't care how fast or hard you want me to go. I'm going to use you however I see fit. And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, puppy.â
You clench down on him so tight he canât help but let out a loud moan.
âYou're disgusting, you know that? What kind of bitch gets off on the fact that she's about to be used like the whore she is. From a hero no less. You're nasty. Filthy.â
You whisper just loud enough for him to hear, âOf course I'm getting off to the fact that my hero wants to use my cunt.â
He slowly moves his hips, feeling the slick of your cunt. It glides so nicely around him he canât help but fall in love with how good it feels.
âSuch a nasty whore, taking my cock raw. You love it donât you? Can you feel me, puppy? Can you feel me deep inside your guts?â
You can't think, you can't see. All you can do is focus on the feeling of him stretching you out to your limits. It feels so fucking good you might pass out.
You're drooling and he laughs at how fucked you look.
âI havent even done anything and youre dumb and drooling for it already? You're sick, puppy.â
He moves a little faster, and he canât understand why it feels so good. Why does your cunt feel like heaven wrapped around him? He wants to obliterate your insides.
He walks you over to the bed without ever removing his cock from inside you. The way he is so strong that lifting you is nothing for him.
He throws you on the bed and you look up at him in confusion, wondering why his cock isnt nestled inside you.
He grabs you by the legs and yanks you over to him and enters you in one thrust.
He places your ankles on his shoulders and starts pounding you into the mattress.
He's moving in and out with such a brutal pace you're sure you're seeing stars.
âYou love this donât you? Love when I abuse your little cunt like nothing else matters? Love when I hit you so deep you can feel it in your throat.â
âYes, yes, yes, Hanta. Love it so much, love your cock..â
âYeah, puppy? Love when I fill you to the brim with my come, don't you? Want to be my little breeding bitch, donât you princess?â
âFuck, god, yes Hanta, please. Love feeling you come so deep inside me I cant even fucking reach it..â
âYeah, princess? You love feeling it seep out of you, donât you, angel?
You're sure you're trying to speak. It's coming out in garbled noise. He's hitting you so deep you're sure he's bruising your insides. It feels so good, his cock hits every spot it can. He's hitting your g spot with expert precision. You're clenching around him so tightly heâs sure he's going to burst at the seams.
He leans back to spit on your clit and starts rubbing it furiously.
âYou gonna come for me, huh? Come on my cock like the good little bitch you are?â
You're about to moan out a yes, Hanta when he presses down just a little too hard on your clit and your eyes flash white. He keeps rubbing your it, keeps absolutely demolishing your cunt, extending your orgasm for as long as he can. He keeps going even after you're done, even after there are tears in your eyes telling him, âitâs too much, Hanta, too muchâ and he doesnt stop until he fills your cunt to the absolute brim with his come.
He collapses on top of you, completely exhausted from the day and his orgasm.
âHanta,â youâre whining and smnacking him, âyouâre heavy, get the fuck off before you kill me!â
He laughs at your indignant whining and slowly pulls out of you. He watches as you try to stop his come from seeping onto the bedsheets.
âHere, let me.â
And he pushes it all back inside you and grins wolfishly at the moan you let out.
âHanta, please⊠let's go take a bath?â
He takes his fingers out of you and quirks an eyebrow at you waiting for you to open your mouth.
You do it obediently; sucking his come off of his fingers, making sure they're nice and clean like the good girl you are.
âYeah, princess. We can do whatever you want.â
You smile so brightly at him, he's sure it rivals the stars.
âI love you, Hanta.â
âI love you more, princess.â

Coffee of the Week pt.2
Icon credit: @thatspookyagent
Summary: This is the second part to Coffee of the Week, where Colin takes the reader out for their date. You can read Part 1 Here
Warnings: None this is pure fluff
Word Count: 2245
"So," Mare said in a bored voice. "Have you decided where you're taking her for your date tonight?" Colin paused for a moment before answering, which confirmed Mareâs suspicions
"No I have not." Colin said, doing his best to avoid Mare's judgmental eyes.Â
"Really man, you had all week to think of a place."
"I know." He signed leaning back in his chair, he swiveled it to the side to face Mare. "But like where would I even take her? There's only like three restaurants in Eastown."Â
"Hey!â Mare said defensively. "We have four restaurants you're forgetting the KFC that's attached to the Taco Bell." Mare joked as she began to put away her papers.Â
'My bad." Colin smiled to himself at Mare's little joke. It seems that lately she was warming up to him, it was nice to be able to joke and talk to her like this. He watched as she cleaned up the rest of her desk.
"But seriously where are you taking her." Mare glanced at the clock on her computer screen before shutting it down. "It's already 6:30 you should be getting ready by now."
Colin glanced down at himself. "What's wrong with what I'm wearing now?"
Mare pursed her lips. "Nothing. Just forget I said anything."Â
"See there's another thing I have to worry about now." Colin ran a hand down his face. "I haven't even been here that long so I don't really know where is a good place to eat at.â Colin sat with his head in his hands for a moment before lifting it up, eyes glancing towards Mare. He turned slowly towards Mare, a hopeful smile on his face. "Unless you-"
"No."Â
"Mare-"
"No."
"If you could recommend-"
"No."Â
"Mare please!â He had stood up at this point and moved towards Mareâs desk, she had scooted her chair away from his approaching form, her face scrunched up at his persistent pleading. âPlease tell me where to take her! I really like her and I donât wanna mess up." Mare finally glanced over at him through the corner of her eye. He looked like a kicked puppy, he was so desperate it physically hurt her.Â
She sighed. "Fine." Colin's face split open in a wide smile. "Stop that." She snapped, he immediately tried to change his facial expression back to neutral but Mare could see he was trying to fight back his smile. "You should take her to the Italian restaurant that's near the center of town, one of my friends works there." She tore a piece of paper off one of her reports. "Tell her that Mare sent you and she'll make sure to give you a good table and treat you and (y/n) well." She handed the paper over to Colin.
His eagerly grabbed it and smiled widely at Mare, "Thank you so much Mare you-"
She held her hand up to silence him, pointing an accusing finger. "Don't make this into a big deal detective." Mare shrugged on her coat and made her way towards the door. "And if you tell her it's a date she'll throw in a free dessert.
"Thank y-"
"Not. A. Big. Deal." Mare slammed the door shut. Colin smiled at her fading figure, she was definitely warming up to him.
Colinâs heart was beating out of his chest as he pulled up to your house, a million thoughts running through his head. Things like was he too early? It was only 7:30 he wasn't supposed to pick you up till 8:00. What if you weren't ready, was he dressed up enough, was he over dressed?? He shook his head trying to clear all the thoughts that plagued him.Â
He made his way to your front door and after a few seconds of hesitation rang your doorbell. The sound of loud barking made him jump up in surprise. âIâm coming.â He heard your voice yell and the sounds of your footsteps approaching the door. You opened the door with a smile, you were holding a big fluffy dog by its collar as it strained against your hold. âHey Colin! Sorry about him, he always barks when someone is at the door.â He glanced down at the dog, it was eagerly trying to pull its way towards him, tail wagging intensely. âLet me go put him outside. I donât want him jumping all over you.â
With zero hesitation Colin said. âLet him go.â
âWhat?â You asked in surprise.
âLet him go, I wanna meet him.â
You let out a little laugh.â Are you sure? Heâs a jumper.â
âOf course!â You let go of your dogâs collar and he went barreling towards Colin, who was squatting down with his arms wide open. Your dog ran into his arms and knocked him flat on his back. You rushed forward to pull your dog back until you saw Colin laughing. Your dog was licking him all over while Colin nestled his face into your dogâs fur. âYouâre such a good boy aren't you?â Colin asked as he petted your dog, your dog just wagged his tail even faster and tried to lick Colinâs face even more, you smiled at the sightÂ
âIt seems he likes you.â You giggled out.Â
âWhatâs his name?â
âHis name is Tino.âÂ
âHello Tino, Iâm Colin.â Colin shook your dogs paw introducing himself. You smiled at his antics and squatted down next to him, rubbing Tinoâs soft ears in your hand. âWhat kinda dog is he?âÂ
âIâm not sure, I adopted him from the center in town and no one seemed to know what kind he was.â Colin nodded at your answer and tried his best to stand back up, it was a task in itself since Tino kept trying to knock him back down. You stood up as well and let out a small laugh at Colinâs appearance. âWhat?â He asked. His once crisp shirt was wrinkled, and his perfectly combed hair was all tousled. He was covered head to toe in dog fur.Â
âI think Tino may have gotten a little bit of fur on you.â He glanced down and saw all the dog's hair sticking to him. He laughed with you and did his best to try and pick the dog hair off. âWait here.â You went inside and came back with a lint roller in hand. He took it and began to roll it up and down his clothes. You moved closer to him and brushed his hair out of his face, smoothing it back into place. He blushed at the action.Â
âAre you ready to go?â
âYea! Where are we going?â
âItâs a surprise!â You laughed, it really wasn't he only really had three options on where to take you in Easttown. And you figured it wasn't going to be the Taco Bell or KFC.Â
The ride to the restaurant didn't take too long and in no time you two had pulled up to the place. He parked and rushed out of the car to your side. He opened your door for you and you swooned at the old fashioned action. You looped your arm through his and he led you to the door, he whispered something to the hostess and she smiled widely and quickly led you two to a table. It was almost sectioned off from the other ones, it had an aura of privacy to it. She rushed over and placed a rose in the vase at the center of the table and lit up the candles. Colin pulled the chair out for you before sitting down on his own.Â
He picked at the table cloth, not meeting your eyes. ââSo, did I pick a good place?â He asked with a nervous smile.
âMhmm, this is my favorite out of all of Easttownâs numerous restaurants.â You smiled at him coyly, he let out a little laugh.Â
The rest of the night seemed to speed by, you and Colin just clicked, there wasnât a moment that wasn't filled with conversation. Either about his work or about your own, him telling stories about his current cases or you telling him about the rude customers you had gotten that day. Then it shifted towards talking about your favorite tv shows or movies. He admitted that his job didn't leave him much time to watch tv and you vowed that one of your date nights had to be a tv or movie marathon. He blushed at the insulation that there was going to be a second date.Â
You two had just finished off your meals when the hostess came by holding a piece of Tiramisu, you let yourself think about the irony of it. You guys had met at your coffee shop and here you were on your first date beings served a coffee flavored dessert. She set it down in front of you two. The plate was decorated with chocolate powder in the shape of a heart. You glanced down at the table and noticed Colinâs hand resting on the table, inching its way closer to yours. You closed the distance and placed your hand over his, squeezing it lightly. He smiled up at you and you returned it. He let you take the first bite of the desert, and he even let you have the last bite. He was a true gentleman through and through.Â
The drive home was filled with constant loving stares back and forth, your hands resting intertwined on your thigh. When you guys got back to your place you didn't want to leave the car, it had been a while since you had a date like that. One filled with so much comfort and romance, one you never wanted to end. More often that you went on dates with sleazy men that picked you up two hours late and flirted with your hostess. Which resulted in you sneaking out the bathroom window and drinking your sorrows away at the bar. But you had a feeling you wouldn't be ditching any of your upcoming dates.Â
Colin, being the gentleman he was, got out and went to open your door for you, much to his and your own dismay. You slid out of the seat and walked as slowly as possible to your front door. He held both your hands in his own. âThis was fun.â He looked down at his shoes, not meeting your eyes, fearing you wouldnât agree with him.
âIt really was, we should do it again.â His head whipped up at your response, a smile taking hold of his features.Â
âHow does next Friday sound?â
âLIke itâs too far away.â He blushed at your words. âBut I think I can wait till then if you continue to come by every morning.âÂ
âWell I couldn't very well start each day without the best cup of coffee in the world now could I?â
âOh shut up.â You giggled, his heart fluttered at being able to make you laugh. What he wouldn't give to spend the rest of his life trying to make you laugh. A little warning light went off in him at that thought, was he seriously already thinking of spending his life with you. You guys had only met this week and it was only your first date. What if you thought he was moving too fast? What if you didn't want to even go out again? Wait, you had just said you wanted to go out again. He was spiraling, lost in his own thoughts. You saw his brow furrow and reached your hand out to smooth out his worry lines.Â
âWhatâs buggingâ ya detective?â His eyes widened at hearing your sweet voice address him by detective.Â
âNothing, just lost in my thoughts.â His ears turned red at the realization he had just zoned out in front of you. You just giggled, moving your hand down to cup his face. He leaned into your soft touch and slowly moved his hands up to rest on your waist. He pulled you closer and you began to slowly move forward. Your lips connected, it was very soft and hesitant. You moved your other hand up to cup the back of his neck, running your fingers near the edges of his hair. The wind blew softly around you two, making your hair and his coat flutter. You pulled away and rested your foreheads together. You looked up at him through your lashes, reluctantly beginning to pull away. âGoodnight detective.âÂ
He pulled away as well, letting his hand linger in your own, holding on to your fingertips until he couldn't anymore. âGoodnight (y/n), Iâll see you tomorrow.âÂ
âI canât wait.â You closed the door and he stayed outside your door until he heard the locks click shut. Once he knew you were safe he made his way back to the car, pumping his arms in the air, in joy.Â
Unknown to him you were watching his little display of happiness from your window. You did your best to suppress a fit of giggles as you sat down at the little window seat, unfastening your heels and tossing them to the floor. You tucked your feet underneath yourself and watched him get back into his car, a smile never leaving his face, and never leaving yours. You gently touch your fingertips to your lips, the lingering taste of his lips on your own. You sighed at the memory, he was going to be the death of you.Â

If you could, can you please write JayTim or RoyTim (whichever one you want) trying to be romantic and woo Tim (maybe with some puns, I love puns), but Tim is a bit oblivious towards it, because the other is so cool, therefore they must be trying to make friends and be nice with him and nothing more. So when he does finally realize its an italicized "Oh" moment.
Hi lovely!! Thank you for waiting so patiently for this fill. I... ended up making it JayRoyTim, I hope that's okay? It just fit so well, but I can totally write something else with JayTim or RoyTim for you if you want :)
Also, it turned out to be about pick-up lines more than wooing, sorry. I mightâve gone overboard with googling the puns. It's long enough that I put it on ao3, too. What's your username on there? Then I'll gift it to you.
if you were a transformer (youâd be optimus fine)
âWell, here I am.â
Tim looks up, utterly confused. âI didnât call for you, but⊠thatâs⊠great?â
Roy waggles his eyebrows. It looks faintly disturbing. Redheads should maybe not do that. Or, actually, Tim revises mentally, thinking of literally every other redhead Dick ever datedâthatâs just Roy. âWhat are your other two wishes?â
âCoffee and some silence to finish working this case?â
Roy looks weirdly deflated at that, but he does get him some coffee. Tim soon forgets about it.
â
(âHowâd it go?â
âDoes obliviousness run in the family?â
âYes. Yes it does. Have you met Bruce?â
ââŠokay, fair. Your turn next.â)
â
âJason? Whatâre you doing here?â
Sure, Jason and Roy have been spending a lot more time in Gotham lately. Something to do with a case, Tim assumes. Maybe even with the one that they worked on together in Star City five months ago?
Anyway. Theyâve been around, is what Tim is saying. Not at the manor, but at Timâs apartment and his workspace, cause apparently itâs not worth rebuilding their safe house after it went up in flames, and Bruce and Damian are too often at Dickâs place. Heâs not exactly surprised to see either of them anymore. (Pleased, yes. But not surprised.) However, Tim has no fucking clue why Jason is currently grinning at him from the other side of the library desk.
At least Tim has the good sense to check his name tag before he gasps: âJason?â
âOh, hey, Tim.â Jasonâs grinning. âGuess you figured out my new job, huh?â
âYeah.â Tim shakes his head. âColor me surprised.â So this is what Jasonâs spending his days doing. Heâs gotta be shadowing someone, right? Timâll ask him tonight.
âIâve always liked this place.â Jasonâs gaze is far away for a moment. Tim badly wants to know what heâs remembering. Then the older man seems to come back to himself and gives Tim a weirdâmaybe angry?âlook. âItâs a good thing Iâm a librarian, too, cause Iâm totally checking you out.â
âAlright, I can take a hint.â Tim grabs his book and demonstratively walks over to the self-service scanners. Really. How rude.
â
(âAre you telling me he managed to resist you in your cardigan?â
âApparently.â
âAww. Câmere, babe.â)
â
So Roy blows things up all the time. No, really, Tim now totally understands why Dick was so happy when he heard the duo is camping out at Timâs place for a change. His older brother even gave Tim a thumbs-up, for Godâs sake. He mustâve known.
Cause yeah, thereâs at least one explosion every two days. Or Roy dropping something cause heâs too focused on what heâs thinking to remember what his hands are doing. Or something dropping on him. Jason seems used to it; he just catches whatever it is or laughs at Roy. Tim⊠is starting to learn to do the same, actually. Whatever Roy comes up with at that moment is usually worth it, and besides, heâs kinda adorable.
Aaaaaaanyway. (Heâs using that word a lot in his own thoughts right now. Almost as if heâs avoiding thinking about something. Hmm.) Timâs not surprised when Roy walks into a room, stumbles, and slaps a hand over his eyes with a dramatic exclamation.
Tim, in shorts and not much else cause he got drenched in pollen earlier, just raises an eyebrow. âAlright, Roy?â
âNope.â Royâs hand is still covering his face, but Tim can still see his grin underneath. âIâm gonna need your name and phone number for insurance purposes.â
âRoy. You have both of these things,â Tim explains slowly, wondering if Roy sustained a brain injury or accidentally dosed himself on something. âAnd why insurance?â
âI was blinded by your beauty.â
God. Sometimes Tim wonders about the original Titans and their socialization for the two dudes if this is how they think making friends works. Then again, Kori, Donna, and Dick probably appreciated constant compliments about their beauty. It all makes sense. Roy must be so used to it that he even uses those same methods when someone unexceptional like Tim is around.
He smiles gamely. âIâm looking forward to hearing that phone call. Must be almost as great as the time Bruce tried to convince his insurance company that Clark dropping on his car wasnât an act of God because God is demonstrably not a Kryptonian. Neither was the giant ape punching Clark out.â
Roy drops his hand at that. ââŠBatman did what?â
â
(âYou were doing so well, too.â
âI knoooow. How much more obvious can we get?â
âI dunno, but I intend to try.â)
â
âDo you like Star Wars? Because Yoda only one for me!â
âHaha. No. Star Trek or die.â Timâs answer is automatic. Heâs had these discussions soooo many times with Kon before. Of course Jason also goes for the space cowboy soap opera.
Besides, Jasonâs boyfriend is standing right next to him. He doesnât mean to sound flirtatious with Tim. Or maybe he does, and itâs just good fun? Or maybe teasing him? Tim canât figure it out, but he knows he doesnât like the weird hollow feeling he gets in his stomach when he thinks about it, so he changes the topic.
And makes both of them sit down to watch some classic Captain Kirk, of course.
â
(âShould I be insulted by that pick up line?â
âNah. There arenât that many lines that imply a polycule, though.â
A kiss. âAlright.â)
â
One of the things Jason and Tim have in common is their predilection for motorbikes and fiddling around with them. Not that makes them unique in the batclan; Tim has never spent days quietly working side-by-side with Dick, though, the way he does with Jason. They started out with separate projects. Then Jason saw this vintage Ducati at an abandoned warehouse he was about to blow up and, well⊠Would be a shame, right? Tim just happens to have had one of these beforeâregrettably lost to one of Harleyâs exploding baseball batsâso he offers his expertise.
Itâs not because it means bending over the engine with Jason, closer than they ever are, their hands brushing when they hand each other instruments. Itâs not.
Roy doesnât join them. Heâs too polite to say so, but he finds normal cars and bikes boring af. Doesnât stop him from popping his head into the garage and whistling when he sees that they are shirtless and covered in grease. Itâs a damn good look on Jason, so Tim canât fault him for that.
Roy follows it up with a: âAre you a parking ticket? Cause you got fine written all over you.â
Tim canât help it; he blushes at the suggestive tone. Those two never stop flirting with each other, do they? So far, he has managed to avoid stumbling over them while theyâre making out (not that theyâre making that easyâthe kitchen? Really?), and heâd like to keep avoiding that, thank you very much. Heâs already feeling guilty enough for his fantasies as it is.
âUh. I should clean up,â he mumbles and flees.
â
(âDammit.â
ââŠdo you think that was a rejection?â
âNah. He was definitely checking me out before you came and fucked it up.â
âThatâs saying something if you noticed it.â
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â)
â
So Tim has magically acquired cat ears and a very fluffy tail. Donât ask. Theyâre gonna go away in eight hours, and until then, heâs gonna stay in the cave and work himself to distraction. Jason seems intent on keeping him company, though.
(Itâs nice. Tim loves hanging out with Jasonâthatâs not the problem. The issue is that Tim is looking ridiculous, and Jason is being nice about it, and none of this is helping his stupid crush go away.)
Theyâre absently chatting about nothing until Jason says: âKinda a pity youâre a cat, though.â
Tim looks up. Huh? Admittedly, he never pegged Jason as the type to go for catboys (though maybe⊠he did hang out with Kyle⊠perhaps itâs just that he definitely doesnât go for Tims), but thatâs still a weird pronouncement.
Jason is grinning. âIf you were a chicken, youâd be impeccable.â He pauses. âWait. Like even more than you already are. Uh.â
Tim sighs. Great. And now Jason is making fun of him again. âWhatever.â
â
(âA chicken?â
âShut up. I panicked.â A sigh. âHe was so cute with these ears.â
ââŠyeah, he was.â)
â
âYou must be tired. Youâve been running through my mind all night.â
âIâm not tired,â Tim says automatically. Why does everyone keep asking him that tonight? Surely the shadows under his eyes canât be that bad? He used concealer!
Something in Royâs expression softens. âAww. Câmere.â He pats the space on the couch next to him, and when Tim sits down, Roy pulls him half of on top of him and into a hug. âRelax for a bit, little bird.â
Tim sinks into the embrace, boneless all of a sudden. Roy just has that effect on him. Tim vaguely remembers thinking of him as his oldest brotherâs cool friend and then Jasonâs cool boyfriend, kind of a fuckboy but clearly good for Jay.
Now? Now, Roy just makes him feel safe.
â
(âSo you spent the night on the couch just so he could sleep in your arms?â
âYeah. Totally worth it.â
âDuh.â
âI just wish we could do that with him every night. Bet he fits perfectly between us.â
âYeah.â
A pause.
âWe might have to up the ante or switch tactics.â)
â
Theyâre talking about their favorite booksâTim doesnât read as much as Jason does, but they discovered a shared love of sci-fi weeks agoâwhen Tim says: âActually, that book kinda reminds me of you.â
âOh?â
âOverly dramatic but good.â
Jason makes an offended noise, and Tim grins.
âIâm not sure which part I should argue about first.â Jason pretends to think.
Tim is always down to tell Jason that fuck his self-perceptionâJason is a good man, one of the best Tim knows; that also feels too revealing right now. Instead, he gets up from their comfortable position on the couch and grabs the first stack on the table, carrying them over to the shelves to replace the gaps. âWhat kind of book would I be?â
âBabe, if you were words on a page, youâd be fine print.â
âAnnoying and no one reads it?â Tim asks without turning around, trying to ignore the babe. Thatâs. Thatâs gotta be a slip of the tongue, right? Force of habit from spending so much time with Roy?
âNo, fine,â and the emphasis is clear this time. Jason continues before Tim can reply: âThough if weâre talking booksâŠâ
Tim whirls around. âSave it. You donât have to make fun of me just because IââHe swallows down the words.
Jason looks alarmed. âTimââ
As if he can smell trouble, Roy chooses that moment to enter the room. Tim has barely heard him approach, Jesus. He doesnât want to have this argument in front of Roy, though, so he just stands there in the middle of the room. Jason, too, has stopped speaking.
Roy, of course, takes one look at the awkwardness and decides to make it worse. Or more confusing.
âDid you just come out of the oven?â he asks.
âAs this isnât Hansel and Gretel, no, I didnât.â Tim checks his shirt, just in case this is an actual conversation opener and not just a weird attempt at a distraction. âDo I have soot on me?â
âNope.â Roy shakes his head, and heâs smiling that smile again, the one Tim is startled to recognize, the one he thought is reserved only for Jasonâ âBecause youâre hot.â
And finally, Tim gets it. âMe?â
âYes, Tim.â Royâs moving in closer. âYou.â
Thereâs a soft touch to Timâs shoulder, and Tim whirls around, expecting Jason to be mad, cause his boyfriend isâis hitting on Tim, right, thatâs whatâs happening, Jason canât be happyâ
Jason is smiling down at him. His hand is still resting on Timâs shoulder, but it slides down to his collar bone, a gentle presence as he murmurs: âYouâre so beautiful that you made forget my pick up line.â
Oh. Oh.
Tim says the first thing he can think of: âAre you a raisin?â
Jason starts grinning. âIâm not even gonna qualify that with an answer.â
Tim smiles back. âCause youâre raising my hopes for a kiss right about now.â
And he gets one. And then another, and then Roy joins in, kissing Timâs neck and then his mouth andâYeah.
Theyâre too busy for any more pick up lines right now.

Just Like Me
To read at my Ao3 CLICK HERE This is the first chapter. sorry is its a little rough. :sweatdrop:
Almost forgot! Tw: i will be going heavy on quirkless discrimination and mental health issues. Theres not much in the first chapter but i do want to touch on it at some point.
School was never something he looked forward to. After all, what was there to look forward to? He was used to getting bullied, made fun of for being different, called names, shoved around. The irony wasnât lost on him. Many years ago, maybe he would have been the normal one?Â
Then again, what even was normal?
It used to be normal to go to school- learn history, math, science and whatever language the school taught.Â
It used to be normal to not have any powers, after all -Â superheroes were a dream. Stories people made up to tell themselves. Heroes existed, yes, but they never had powers. Heroes were just people, average people.Â
Again, there's another word that's changed. Average.Â
Normal. Average.Â
Two hundred years ago, it was normal for the average person to look human.
Two hundred years ago, it was normal  for the average person to have no powers.
Two hundred years ago, it was normal for superheroes to only be a thing of stories.
That was two hundred years ago. Not now.
Now it's weird to not have powers.
Now you get bullied for being regular. Quirkless.
One of 20%.Â
Mathematically, he thought it was stupid that so many people get treated so differently. He did remember Mr. Lancer telling him of people getting treated for less. Mr. Lancer told him two hundred years ago, 10% of the population was seen as satanic because of what hand they used to write with. A similar estimated percent was discriminated against because of who they loved, or what they identified as.Â
âSadly, Mr. Fenton, the human race has a history of not tolerating those who they see as a minority.â
âI remember that from history Mr. Lancer.â Danny sighed, leaning his head on his hand. His eyes stared out the window, looking at the stormy weather. âI remember you talking about how things used to be.â
The teacher pursed his lips, staying quiet and looking at him with concern.
Lancer had asked Danny to stay after class to speak to him. He never did like how Danielâs peers would gang up on him after school ended. The best he could usually do was this. Casperâs principal was... far too likely to be accepting of anything the more wealthy studentsâ parents had to say.
âIs that why youâve been spacing out all day then, Danny?âÂ
It was asked gently. Dannyâs eyes glanced over to the balding teacher before darting back to the window. He hummed for a moment. â...Kinda. I got a lot on my mind.â
âPenny for your thoughts then?â Lancer pulled his chair next to his desk.
It was quiet for a few minutes, the sound of rain gently pattering against the classroom windows filled the room while Danny collected his thoughts. Blue eyes watched raindrops roll down the glass.
âI donât get it, Mr. Lancer.â His voice was quiet as the floodgates opened. âEveryone in my family has quirks. Dad is strong. My mom can copy anyoneâs fighting styles just by watching. Jazz can look at someone and-.... well you know.â He sank down into his chair. âAunty A, even has a quirk. I've never seen her miss a shot. And then there's me. Daniel James Fenton. The first quirkless person in our family in a long time. Donât get me wrong either, it doesnât bother me too much.â Liar. âItâs just... it feels like the cherry on top of everything else.
âMy parents got an invitation to teach some classes at UA in Japan. In Japan, I've never lived anywhere but here. Amity Park. Itâs not like they can leave me here. PLUS, Jazz has always wanted to go there for the General studies.â
âI understand your concern, Danny. But Iâve seen your work,â There was slight amusement in Mr. Lancers voice. âArenât you good at building things? I know Iâve caught you tinkering with something more than once in class.â
Dannyâs face flushed red. â...My parentâs usually make those. Theyâre old models of support gear they have made. I was seeing if I could get a glitch out.â
âAnd?â
â...I keep shocking myself.â He mumbled. âIt hurts like hell.â
âWhile I canât say Iâm happy that you are getting injured. As long as you are safe, I'm glad.â Mr. Lancer offered a smile to the teen. âAs for the other predicament, you are always open to contact me if you need me after you move.â
âThank you Mr. Lancer.â
~~~~~~~
Danny was thankful that they moved over the summer and not in the middle of the year. School was already hectic enough as was. Moving in the middle of the year was not something he ever wanted to do, let alone moving across the globe in the middle of the year.
He kept to himself for the first few weeks. He liked to walk around, exploring the new area. It felt different than Amity park. More crowded. He noted early on there was definitely more hero around too. It didnât bother him too much.
That's a lie.
More heroes means more villains.
He didnât like villains.
He also didnât like being a hostage.
Lucky him!
He was held hostage by a villain not even before the end of the second week. Not that this was a first time experience for him, having been a favorite target back in Amity Park. He knew all the heroes back home personally because of it. People just loved to take quirkless people hostage. One would think, with the target that seems to hang over his head, that Daniel James Fenton wouldnât take such risks as walking around alone at night. One would think that if he did, it would be out of necessity, and he would at least have something on him to defend himself.
...yeah no that's not the case. Why in the world would that be the case?
Danny was shoved onto the ground, air leaving his lungs as he hit. He gasped for air, trying to look at who was targeting him now. He couldnât really tell much about the person, ratty clothes and a hoodie pulled up to cover their face. Nothing could be seen under the hood, it was just shadow, pure, black shadow.
âWhatâs a runt like you doing out right now?â The villain crouched next to Danny. Chuckling when he tried to scoot away. They put a foot on one of Dannyâs wrists, âAh-ah. Now thatâs rude. Iâm talking to you punk.â
Danny didnât respond, wincing at the pressure on his arm.Â
âItâs rather rude to ignore your elders.â The villain put more pressure, adjusting so they were crouched like a vulture next to prey.
âF-fuck you. Iâve seen worse.â He growled
The regret in saying that was nearly instant. In the blink of an eye, the ground next to his head - that was solid concrete what the hell- was shattered. The villain was making an inhuman noise, a low gutteral sound coming from them. âYou havenât seen my worst. I wasnât gonna do much to ya, but Iâm starting to change my mind kid.â
He knew he should do anything else - he was already on a thin line - but fuck it. He had a free hand anyways. He grabbed something from his pocket and slammed it against the villain. âAs I said before. Fuck. You.â He pressed the button on the side.
The machine sparked to life. Quite literally. Danny still didnât know what it was supposed to do, but he could make it shock things. Like a weird taser. Unlucky for Danny he was literally pinned to the ground beneath the villain getting tased. And as everyone knows. Humans are conductive. Very conductive.Â
Strangely the villain didn't even flinch. The growl getting louder as they grabbed the device from their shoulder and crushed it with their hand. Danny started shaking. Okay so that was a horrible idea.Â
The shadows of the alley gathered around the villain. Climbing up their clothing and slowly slithering along their arm. They held Danny down, forming chains around him. In the villainâs hand, a knife, absorbing all light, The villian made the move to attack, and Danny closed his eyes, waiting for the pain to come.
It never did.
It lessened.Â
Weight lifted from him, a weight he hadnât realized was there besides his arm. Tentatively he opened his eyes.Â
The villain was on the ground a few meters away from him, knocked out and tied up to a fire exit- similar to how Batman would leave criminals for the cops. Danny blinked. He hadnât heard anything. So what in the world happened? And how could that have happened so fast?Â
Standing up, he looked around for a sign of anyone being there to help him.
Oddly enough. It seemed no one had caused the villain to go down, at least not that Danny could see. Blue eyes scanned the area for a moment, looking for anything that wasnât there before. Nothing popped out. Nothing was out of place. It looked like no one had been there.
He let out a breath he didnât realize he had been holding. The air condensed, forming mist as it left his mouth and floated away. It was like when he first stepped outside in the winter. Which was strange- it was the middle of summer. A small frown formed on his face. The nights here werenât that cold normally.Â
He brushed it off, ignoring the goosebumps running along his skin as the air chilled. Perhaps whoever knocked the villain out had a rather cold quirk, he mused to himself. Heroes normally make themselves known at this point, checking to see if he was okay.Â
He had an inkling it wasnât a hero. At least not a licensed one. Not that he minded. He didnât care who it was really. They saved his life⊠he was grateful for that.
Danny looked up to the clear sky, moonlight peaking over the buildings enough to illuminate the alley where the street lights glowed. He smiled up to the stars. âThank you.â He said softly. âI wasnât paying attention tonight.â
He left the alley, starting his way back home. He never caught sight of the figure watching him.
Viva Las Vegas, Pt. 1 - Ribbit
Summary: Sunset Curve Alive AU, Willex, THE meetcute of meetcutes. 2.1k
Edit: thank you so much @trevor-wilson-covington for the pretty edit!! I'm in love with it!
Alex drummed his fingers on the armrest of his seat in the van. The drive from Los Angeles to Vegas was just short of four hours, but it had been an early morning and it was going to be a long day. He was feeling the carsickness sit just under the threshold of dangerous and rolled down the window.
âWhoo! Twenty miles boys!â Luke called out as they passed a sign on the freeway, clapping Bobby on the shoulder from behind.
âWoohoo!â Bobby responded in excitement.
âThink youâre gonna make it, buddy?â Reggie looked over at Alex. Alex turned only a fraction of the way toward his friend and gave a half-hearted nod.
âHey man, let us know if we gotta pull over,â Luke said.
He simply nodded. Next time he wasnât going to sit in the back.
The other three were jamming to whatever Luke was riffing on his guitar. Bobby thankfully drove at a slower pace as they approached the final stretch toward their destination. The ache in his stomach didnât get better, but it also didnât get worse so he was banking on it calming down once they stopped.
âHey, guys, we wanna stop somewhere and get breakfast first?â Bobby called out to the rest of them.
âOh yeah!â Reggie said. âI think I could go for some pancakes.â
âOh, pancakes sound real good right now.â Luke echoed.
âAlex?â Bobby peeked into the rearview mirror at him.
Looking up from the view outside, he just shrugged. It didnât matter. He wasnât sure he could handle food no matter what it was.
Eventually they pulled off the freeway and kept their eyes peeled for an open restaurant.
âI see pancakes!â Reggie cried, pointing at his target.
âTheyâve got an arcade next door, I second that vote!â Bobby said.
As they parked and clambered out of the van, the boys stretched and shook their limbs. They entered the diner and found a booth, practically collapsing together on the table. Alex placed his face in his hands and tried taking in deep breaths to calm his stomach. A sudden voice was heard beside the table.
âGood morning starshines, the earth says hello! How are we doing today?â Sounded like a waiter. Alex felt rude, but didnât bother to look up. He felt Luke nudge a menu under his elbow.
âOh, weâre hungry!â Reggie responded.
âAwesome, guys,â the waiter said. âAnything I can get started for you?â
âWeâll go with water,â Luke spoke for everyone at the table. âAnd, sorry about him, heâs not feeling good.â Alex assumed this was about him and sighed.
âOkay, so water for everybody? Alright, Iâll just grab those for you while you prepare your orders.â
As the waiter left, Luke tapped Alexâs shoulder.
âHow you doinâ, Alex?â
âNot blowing chunks, I guess,â he groaned.
âHey, guys,â Bobby started saying. âHow about we pick what we wanna eat, and then I want to check out the arcade while we wait for our food.â
âThatâs a good idea,â Reggie said, perking up. âI hope they have Galaga.â
âIâm down,â Luke said. âAlex, you wanna wait here for us? You can give the guy our orders and then just chill.â
âMaybe that stomach will settle down,â Reggie added.
Alex lowered his hands and rested them on the table.
âYeah,â he replied. âI need the space anyway. Thanks.â
âCool,â Luke hopped up from his seat. âUh, Iâll just do the buttermilk pancakes.â
âMake that two buttermilk pancakes!â Reggie said, holding up his fingers.
âEggs and sausage,â Bobby told him. âAnd buttermilk pancakes.â He patted Alex on the back as the three of them ventured next door.
At least they were easy to remember. Alex looked around the restaurant as he kept breathing in and out slowly. He was the only person there. That was surprising for a diner just outside of Vegas around ten in the morning. He didnât mind the quiet, though. Having all this space to himself was already helping him feel better.
A guy with long dark hair approached him with a tray carrying glasses of water. Alex gulped as he watched, his breath catching in his throat. He took in the tie-dye shirt, the ripped jeans, and puka shell necklace and guessed he was probably from California as well.
âWhoa, whereâd they all go?â the waiter asked, smiling a little in confusion.
Alex blinked.
âThey, uh, they went to the arcade,â he managed to get out. He couldnât help it, this guy had a nice smile.
âAh,â the guy raised his eyebrows and began placing the water on the table. âAnd they left you behind? That sucks.â
âIâm okay,â Alex said. âWeâve just been on the road for a bit and I got kinda carsick, so I needed some space anyway.â
âIâm sorry, man,â the waiter said. âDid they decide what to eat before they bailed?â
âUh, yeah,â Alex shifted to face him better. âThey all want buttermilk pancakes and then one guy also wants eggs and sausage.â
âThree buttermilksâŠâ the guy muttered as he wrote them down. âEggs and sausage. And do you know what you want?â
He looked directly into Alexâs eyes as he rested the tray under his arm and it took everything Alex had not to melt right there. Donât look at his lips, he thought. He was pretty sure his eyes had betrayed him but he forced his gaze downward as a cover.
âIâm sorry,â he said, flustered. âI actually forgot to look at the menu.â
âRight, âcuz you were carsick, sorryâ the waiter chuckled, running a hand through his hair. Alex bit his tongue.
âI should probably get some food still,â he managed to say. âWeâve got a long day ahead of us.â
âRight on. I could recommend some toast - thatâs always easy on the stomach. That comes with eggs, and I could add in some banana for you.â
âThat actually sounds great,â Alex told him. âIâll just do that, then.â
The waiter smiled and bit his lip.
ââKay!â He lifted the tray from under his arm and headed back toward the kitchen, doing a little skip before disappearing inside.
Alex felt his hands shaking and he sat on them for a minute. Looking around the empty diner, a thought occurred that somehow with just him and the waiter it had seemed full. The strange feeling crept all over him, like a new exhilarating energy, and he moved his hands back up. The waiter popped back out of the kitchen and came back toward Alex in a cavalier fashion.
âMind if I join you?â he asked. âI donât exactly have other people to help and I feel bad leaving you all by yourself in here.â
âMake yourself at home,â Alex said, gesturing to the seat across from him. Make yourself at home? What is that? he berated himself.
The guy extended a hand for him to shake. âIâm Willie, by the way.â
âAlex.â As he took it, Alex returned the firm grip he received and they both chuckled a bit at noticing each otherâs strength. Willie sat down and immediately grabbed a napkin from the dispenser.
âSo you said you and your friends have a long day ahead of you?â he asked.
âOh right,â Alex couldnât believe he had forgotten about the guys for a minute. âWeâre a band, so weâve got a gig opening for Julie Molina tonight.â
âWicked,â Willie smiled and nodded, folding the napkin into something Alex wasnât sure what it was supposed to be. âWhoâs Julie Molina?â
âOh, sheâs just a good solo artist - does a little bit of everything. My buddy Luke is really into her.â
Willie nodded some more, continuing to fold the napkin.
âAnd who are you guys?â
âWeâre Sunset Curve,â Alex said. âIâm the drummer.â
âRight on! You guys just becoming a thing?â Willie raised his eyebrows.
âI mean, I guess so,â Alex hadnât exactly thought about it. âOpening for Julie is a big step for us.â
He watched Willieâs hands work until he finished. It turned out to be an origami frog.
âRibbit,â Willie said, pressing on the top to make it look like it was moving. The napkin material didnât exactly lend to bouncing up and down, which made them both giggle. âSorry, I didnât mean to be distracting.â
âI donât mind,â Alex said. âItâs entertaining.â
He realized how widely he was smiling and laughed to himself.
âWhat about you?â he asked.
Willie straightened his posture and ran a hand through his hair again. He flailed his arms and blew out his cheeks before holding one arm with the other and leaning on the table.
âMaking it on my own for now. I just do whatever feels good, you know? Make a few bucks, get out and enjoy what I find. Donât need a whole lot to be happy.â
Wow, Alex wanted that kind of chill. He picked up the origami frog.
âWhat do you do when youâre not here? Besides these, of course.â
Willie shrugged.
âSkate. Be free.â He smiled, but sighed heavily. Alex saw a distant look in his eyes, but knew now wasnât a time to address it. âI see Vegas in all its glory. You should see the lights at night.â
âWonât I see them tonight?â
Willie shook his head.
âNot the right way,â he told him. âNot at the right angle. I would show you, but youâve got your gig and everything.â
Alex opened his mouth to reply, but a head stuck out of the kitchen door. A man with dark hair and chiseled features looked at Willie and all he did was glare authoritatively.
âIâm - coming,â Willie stammered, rising from his seat.
Alex realized his mouth was still open and he shut it, unhappily swallowing what heâd wanted to say.
âThat was my boss,â Willie said, already in a hurry. âIâm sorry, Iâll be back when your foodâs ready.â He rushed off and the diner felt empty and cold again.
As if on cue, Luke, Bobby and Reggie burst back through the door. Luke and Reggie were celebrating while Bobby seemed a little less enthusiastic.
âDun-geon slay-er!â Reggie proclaimed in a mock deep voice. âToo bad we canât stay longer and go for that tournament today; I would have whooped everyone.â
They all sat and immediately gulped down their waters. Bobby remained quiet.
âHow was the arcade?â Alex asked.
âIt was sweet,â Luke reported. âBobbyâs mad because Reggie mopped the floor with him.â
âThe joystick wasnât working right, it wasnât a fair outcome,â Bobby defended.
âOooohhh,â Reggie made a silly face and wiggled his fingers. âBobby only loses when the game doesnât work, ooohhh!â
Alex shook his head and laughed mildly. He only noticed then that his stomach had stopped bothering him completely. He hadnât even felt it when heâd been talking with Willie. He finished his own water, and was happy not to feel anything as it went down. The origami frog was still on the table.
âHey, Alex,â Reggie said, picking it up. âDid you make this?â
âOh, no, Willie did,â he told him.
âWhoâs Willie?â Luke asked.
Speak of the devil - the kitchen door opened and Willie came out carrying their plates.
âAlright, we got pancakes, pancakes, more pancakes,â he said, placing them where they belonged. He glanced at Alex quickly, but it was too quick to read. âWho had the eggs and sausage?â
âThat was me,â Bobby said, raising his hand.
âOkay,â Willie passed it over to him. âAnd toast and eggs with a banana.â He smiled as he set it down before Alex. âAnd it looks like you all need more water, Iâll be right back!â He was gone too quickly again.
The change in his mood unsettled Alex, but maybe it was because Willie was working. As he saw Willie returning with the water pitcher he had an idea.
âHey Luke,â he said. Luke turned to him expectantly as Willie silently poured water in their glasses.
âWhere are we playing again?â
Luke looked confused. Willie was listening intently.
âThe Pearl, why? How could you forget?â
âAnd what time do we play?â
âEight oâ clock. You sure youâre feeling better?â
âYeah. I was⊠I was just testing you, cuz sometimes you donât remember.â
Luke looked around the table defensively.
Reggie shrugged. âHeâs right. But you remembered this time!â
Alex felt bad about starting Luke in an argument as he listened to them continue, but he knew it would blow over quickly. He caught Willie looking back at him and nodding as he walked away. As he returned to his food, Bobby smirked at him and shook his head. Heat rose in his cheeks and he focused on his toast.
Timeâs a Ticking || Matthew Tkachuk
Notes: anyways I decided to do matty and I found this long list of soulmate AU prompts so I know what Iâm doing tonight yikes. so hereâs a lil bit of a nervous/anxious matty even tho he refuses to admit it. hope you enjoy!!! let me know how you like it <3Â
Summary: everyone is born with a dwindling time on their wrist. the moment the time reaches zero is when a person meets their other half, the person who makes them whole; their soulmate.Â
Word Count: 3k+
10,584. 7 days, 8 hours and 24 minutes. 7 days until heâd meet his other half, the person thatâs meant to complete his soul, be his better half, or whatever a soulmate is meant to be. Matthew wasnât crazy about the idea of soulmates, sure, he was surrounded by people who were madly in love and happy and complete; but he was also surrounded by those people... the oneâs whose time stopped, girls and guys who had a permanent marking of time on their wrist that would never move again.
He wouldnât say he was a pessimistic person, but he had seen so many friends and family fall into a spiral after their soulmate clock stopped ticking, watched as their other half broke them without even meeting them. He wanted to be excited and optimistic but Matthew couldnât bring himself to feel the same delight that his friends did on his behalf. Anything could happen in this 7 days, 8 hours... and 22 minutes now.
6160 minutes
You could feel the bump of the plane as it touched the ground. This was the one part of flying you hated the most, the anxiety and the bumping as the plane made its way down the runway towards its destination. You knew anything bad was unlikely to happen, but your nerves were on edge. All you could think about was the time on your wrist, the time that kept on ticking. It hadnât stopped in your entire 21 years of life, and from the looks of it, you were approximately four days away from that happening.
Sighing, you listened to the claps from around you as everyone congratulated the pilots for landing the plane safely. Around you, people stood up and began collecting their belongings, grabbing their bags from the overhead compartments as the chatter continued in the cabin.
You politely smiled at the man beside you as he passed you down your bag, a quick âThank youâ leaving your lips as he gestured for you to walk in front of him towards the exit.Â
Originally, you hadnât had any intention of leaving Alberta for the holiday break, but your parents had practically begged you to come home for the holidayâs, citing the fact you had remained in Lake Louise for the last year and that they had only seen you once since you made the choice to unravel everything you knew by packing a few bags and moving halfway across the country to Alberta to work at some fancy ski resort in the mountains.Â
It was originally only meant to be a few months worth of work, waitressing in Lake Louise at a 5-star resort that is, and then time kept going by, and the more and more you fell in love with not only the scenery, but the people. Everyone was happy there, tourists were always excited and polite, everyone just wanted the chance to see the Lake, skate on the Lake, whatever it was. No one was ever unhappy here, and you loved that.Â
You were pulled out of your thoughts as the line in front of you continued to move quickly, people eager to get out of the cabin and get back into the fresh air that flowed outside. You could barely contain your giddiness as you stepped off the plane. You could barely believe how much you missed the province, missed your friends, coworkers, you even missed the tourists. Who wouldâve thought?
After about 20 minutes of watching the carousal spin and spin and spin, you finally eyed your bright red, Flames red, as a lot of people reminded you, suitcase. Grabbing it, you hauled the bag off of the carousal and onto the ground. You were eager to get to your car, which you had already paid a good 500 dollars worth of parking for, and eager to get the move on the three hour drive across Highway 1 to Lake Louise.Â
After four and a half hours of travelling, you knew this three hour drive was going to exhaust you. And with the temperature out in Alberta right now? All you wanted was your bed and a cup of piping warm hot chocolate to end the day.
4590 minutes
âMan, your face is already awful to look at. You really trying to ruin it even more right before you meet your soulmate?â
Before Noah could even think, a wad of tape hit the side of his head while exclamations went up around the room about the choice of target. âWhoops, guess my tape slipped... out of my hand.â
Matthew shrugged his shoulders, an innocent grin on his face as he stood up to grab the tape from beside Noah Hanifinâs locker.Â
âNo, but seriously, why are you getting into fights with three days left on your wrist? Donât go and get yourself killed or something, theyâd be devastated if theyâve waited this long for your dumb-ass just to have 4000 minutes tattooed on her wrist for the rest of her life.â
Shrugging his shoulders, Matthew ignored his teammates comments, choosing instead to run his finger across the always-changing number on his wrist.Â
âItâs not like it matters anyways.â His words were barely above a mumble, but it was enough to spark the attention of his captain, who was quick to tell him to meet him in the trainerâs office after he was done showering and getting the blood that was currently dripping down his face, cleaned.
Obliging on his captainâs orders, he found Gio in the office, a tight smile the only warning that he was about to get ripped apart by the veteran. Gio was one of the lucky ones, he had barely been 16 when his clock finally hit the big 0. It made him an advocate for all the soulmate bullshit, constantly encouraging his teammates to wait it out, be patient, their time would come.Â
âChucky, buddy, we gotta have a chat.â
Quirking his eyebrows at the older man, Matthew nodded, âWell Gio, I kinda figured that one out buddy, unless you pulled me in here to look at my oh so pretty face.âÂ
âIâm serious. You need to stop with this constant bashing of soulmates and times and shit. I know you donât like it and you hate the concept of soulmates and whatever, but youâre doing nothing but worrying the younger guys. These kids are constantly terrified their minutes are just going to stop and be etched into their skin.â
Subconsciously running his fingers across the number on his wrist again, 4530 minutes. Wonder what that is in exact time. Shrugging his shoulders, he was quick to apologize to his captain. âSorry, G. Not trying to scare the kids, just getting a little... I donât know? Worried? Itâs getting too close, I donât want to get like...  itâs not important, never mind. Iâll stop talking about times in the locker room. Sorry.â
Quickly tightening the tie that was now wrapped around his neck, Matthew raced out of the office before Gio could say something else to him. He eagerly grabbed his phone, wallet, keys and suit jacket before quickly making his way towards the parking garage, the only thing on his mind was of course, you.
2120 minutes
One whole day and just a few hours. You could barely breath as you ran your thumb over the little black number on your wrist. You knew it was inevitable that youâd be meeting your soulmate while working, the moment you looked at the work schedule when you arrived back from home, you knew youâd be stuck working during the time in which you were meant to meet you soulmate. You were giddy, sure. But what if they didnât like you? What if whoever it was, was snooty, and rude, and didnât like you for who you were?
âY/N, you gotta stop thinking about it, babe. Youâre gonna get your head stuck in a whirlwind of thoughts. Think about other things! Like... the Calgary Flames.â
Eyeing the blonde beside you, âTell me Cassidy, why in the world, would I think about the Calgary Flames, instead of thinking about my soulmate?â
Your coworker shrugged her shoulders and gestured to the board behind your head. You had all been notified a day prior that the Calgary Flames had reserved a whole floor of the Chateau for the weekend. With your restaurant being directly in view of the Lake and the Mountains, you were expected to be the main dining spot for the team over their course of the weekend.
âBelieve me, Cass, the last thing I want to think about is a bunch of hockey boys who are going to make me miserable the weekend where Iâm supposed to be... not miserable.â
She winked at you, a teasing glint in her eyes, âMaybe one of those awful hockey boys has the same number on your wrist. Maybe Noah Hanifinâs your soulmate. God, Iâd be so jealous, could you imagine being destined for that beautiful exhibit of a man? God, Iâd climb him like a tree.â
Laughing, you wacked her with the towel in your hand as she continued to egg you on, gloating about how beautiful of a specimen Noah Hanifin was, and how sheâd do just anything to crawl into bed with that man. Cassidy was always like this, bubbly, happy, positive. Her number had stopped moving 12 years ago, or so she says. She hadnât been paying attention the day it stopped, the number etching itself into her skin permanently, to never move again. She was never negative about it, always saying that she hoped just the thought of her brought peace to her soulmate in their last moments.Â
âOkay okay, enough about the Flames. I doubt itâs even going to end up being any of them, hockey boys and I do not get along. Especially the oneâs that are just constantly bothering people, and thatâs the entire Flames roster, so... letâs get back to work.â
440 minutes
One thing Matthew was sure of was the fact that he loved everything about the drive to Lake Louise. He wasnât notorious for being a huge fan of the scenery around him, but something about the drive across Highway 1, the trees, the snow covered mountains, they all just faded together and created this picture in his head. It was hard to describe, there wasnât anything specific to the picture, it was just joyful, it was happy, it was calm. Jesus, maybe he was just fucking crazy.Â
A lot of people always said you feel more calm in the hours leading up to the first time you meet your soulmate. But he sure as hell didnât feel calm. He was on edge, the scenery around him, albeit, it was beautiful, it was not calming him down. His leg was shaking, his foot tapping the ground beneath him on the bus. He could see Johnny giving him a look every time his shaking leg touched his teammates. He knew the entire team was frustrated with him. Two games straight, two 10 minute fighting majors.Â
He was being a pest, constantly egging people on, trying to ignite arguments or fights or just some form of stimuli to get his mind off of the only thing it could stray to. You. He didnât want to think about whoever the hell you were, he didnât want to get his hopes up that maybe his clock would actually hit 0, maybe heâd actually meet his better half. Or maybe he'd fall through a crack in Lake Louise and never have to worry about it again... hopefully.Â
âIf you touch my leg... one more fucking time, I am going to sock you in the fucking face Chucky.â
Immediately pressing his heel into the ground, Matthew mumbled out a quick âsorryâ to the teammate beside him as he watched the trees continue to go by outside the bus window. The time was still changing on his wrist, every minute counting down as the minutes passed outside. There was barely any cell service on the drive up, so the only thing that could truly distract him at this rate, was you, and he hated that.
âSoooo... you excited Chucky? Itâs gotta be the big day, no?â
If choking a teammate was legal, Matthew would already be wringing Noah Hanifinâs neck.Â
âYeah, delighted.â
âCâmon grumpy pants, youâre literally like what? 6 hours away from meeting the person whoâs supposed to complete your soul... and youâre in a foul mood. Did Doughty crawl up your ass and die last night or?â
Grinding his teeth, Matthew tried to bite his tongue, refusing to lash out at his teammate, even though he so desperately wanted to. He wasnât going to be the cause for a toxic locker room, especially over something as stupid as soulmates.Â
It was obvious that something was going on, everyone on the team knew the time on his wrist equalled out to less than a day. Everyone could see how on edge he was slowly getting as the time dwindled down, but no one could figure out why he was getting more and more frustrated, why the excitement wasnât shining through as the time continued.
âWhy the hell arenât you excited man? This personâs supposed to be the love of your life, and you seem like you couldnât give two fucks if you meet them or not?â
It was too late, Matthew was exploding before he could even comprehend what he was saying. âIt doesnât fucking matter man, okay? I donât give a shit about this soulmate bullshit. Everyoneâs soulmate is gone one day anyways, what the hell does it matter if you meet them now? Iâm gonna be aching at some point because theyâre gone and Iâm alone. Woohoo, I get to meet them today, woo-fucking-hoo. I could literally not care less, so stop bugging me.â
27 minutes.
It was all around, highly likely, that your soulmate had some form of connection with the Calgary Flames. Their reservation was scheduled for 23 minutes from now... and your wrist had that small number 27 etched on it as it continued to count down.Â
âWow... maybe your soulmate really is Noah Hanifin... Iâm sorry for saying Iâd climb him like a tree.â
A loud laugh left your throat as you watched a guilty smile form on your co-workers face. âCass, I highly doubt itâs Noah Hanifin. Itâs probably just a coincidence that their reservation time coincides with my meeting my soulmate time.â Cassidy gave you a knowing look as she walked away, a small smile on her face.
You were anxious, you couldnât deny it. Every second that counted down, you were nervous, what if you werenât good enough for them? What if they were embarrassed it was you? What if... oh god... what if they hated soulmates? What if they were one of those people who was willing to cut the tie, ignore the call, ignore the connection?
You refused to think about that, instead putting yourself to work, clearing the tables and plates of the previous occupants, you waved off the clearing crew, instead choosing to do it yourself. Anything to get your mind off of it.Â
The Flames weren't the only occupants of the Chateau tonight, only taking up about half, you were able to still seat other tourists who were interested in the view tonight.Â
Thatâs how you found yourself, 25 minutes later, your hand on your hip as you interacted with the group of rowdy guys in front of you. They were from Edmonton, and they were absolutely hammered. They were as nice as you could expect them to be, continuously flirting your ears off, as they tried to impress you with their... what was it? Accounting job? You couldnât remember for the life of you, your mind solely stuck on the small number 1 now etched on your wrist.Â
You were roused out of your thoughts at the feeling of a hand touching your waist. âCâmon sweetheart, youâre not even paying attention to us here. Take a shot with us, baby!â
You politely removed the offending wrist, a tight smile now etched on your face. âFirst, I would ask that you please donât touch me. Second, I was most definitely listening. You boys want another round of beers, and 6 tequila shots. Unfortunately, I donât believe the shots are the best idea, nor do I think the beer is, but Iâll definitely get you a glass of water.â
Spinning on your heel, you went to walk away but were stopped by the feeling of a hand tightly gripping your wrist, a small squeak falling from your lips.
âWe donât want water.â
âPlease get your hand off of me.â
âGet us what I asked for then, bitch.âÂ
You were about to retort, a vicious snarl on your lips, but your words were caught in your throat as you watched a fist connect to the cheek of the man in front of you, a gasp leaving your throat.
2 minutes
This had to be a joke. He was apparently two minutes away from meeting his soulmate, and here he was, in an orderly fashioned line as him and his teammates made their way into the restaurant. He could barely breath, his pants felt too tight on his hips, he could feel the sweat seeping through his shirt. Thank god he made the choice to wear black.Â
It felt like everyoneâs eyes were on his, everyone was wearily watching the number on his wrist go down, as the obvious anxieties began to cloud his every thought, action, move... everything.
He tried to take his mind off of it, observing the restaurant as the team slowly made their way to their designated tables. There were a few other patrons, most of them caught up in their own world. One specific table caught his eye, they were a group of rowdy guys, maybe a few years older than him.Â
Quite frankly, they looked like all around assholes. Looked like the guys youâd see from Wolf of Wall Street, and from the looks of it, they were really starting to irritate their waitress. Although, all he could see was your back, your posture was unbelievably straight, your hand on your hip as you inventively listened to the guys in front of you.
Matthew continued to watch you, something inside of him telling him that he just couldnât look away. He had to keep looking. He watched as you turned your body, ready to walk to wherever your destination in mind was, but he instantly zeroed in on the hand that was now tightly wrapped around your wrist, a violent look on the manâs face.
He wasnât moving on his own accord now, his feet were basically moving by themselves as they raced towards you.
âGet us what I asked for then, bitch.â
His fist was connecting with the other manâs face before he could even think. He heard the gasp from beside him, he watched the number on his wrist hit 0 the exact moment he looked at you, a look of shock on everyoneâs faces.
âChucky!â
âWhat the fuck are you doing?â
âIâm going to call the police you fucking curly-headed fuck.â
He could barely focus on the voices around him. You were here. You were literally right in front of him. Both of your numbers were at 0, he could see it on your wrist. He was literally staring in the eyes of his soulmate.
âOh my god, you punched one of our guests.â Your voice was like bells to his ear, soft, delicate, everything he wasnât... but god, you were perfect.
âIâm Matthew, and yes... I uh... I think I did punch one of your guests. I also think youâre my soulmate. Does it count as self-defence... if I punched him in my soulmateâs defence?âÂ
You laughed, trying to cover it up with your mouth as you watched your managerâs rush towards the now bleeding asshole at the table behind you.Â
âI think I like you already, Matthew.â
Chapter 1
áŽáŽáŽÊáŽÊ'ê± ÉŽáŽáŽáŽ: Iâm here again because this project is my child. Iâve added a lot and learned even more and Iâm glad yâall are here to watch me develop On to the diggers <3 ᎥáŽÊÉŽÉȘÉŽÉąê±: blood, violence, pov changes áŽáŽáŽáŽÊᎠáŽáŽÉŽáŽÉȘáŽÉŽáŽáŽ
: @katsumiiii and @lilsparkyswife ᎥáŽÊáŽ
áŽáŽáŽÉŽáŽ: 1.9kÂ
The day I was first killed was tedious. Â
When youâre raised in the Summer Court, certain traditions are found there. When you are five you receive your first dagger. I almost hit my lessons teacher in the eye with that little stunt I pulled. When you are 10 they start with basic strength, endurance, and speed training. I beat up Katsuki Bakugou for making fun of me that year. When youâre really curious, they take you up for assassination training. I was a prodigy at itâŠ
I got so good in fact that I climbed the ranks at the young tender age of 18. Summer Court likes tradition, yes, but I was something unprecedented, unorthodox. Something bigger.
Working for the Summer Court had its perks, yes. This was one of them. As I walked among the snakes of the Autumn Court, I felt a curl of unease flow through me. Yvonne, the one who usually handles our information, said that our biggest clientâs rival was supposed to be at the ball. As if that makes my life any easier. Everyone wanted someone from the Autumn Court dead. But no one wanted to be seen doing it. Looking at the throng of people, laughing and talking amongst themselves, I smirk slightly.
âAutumn Court sure has a lot of balls.â I thought to myself snidely. â I wonder what they could be celebrating this timeâ Before I had time to dwell on the thought any longer, the familiar voice of one of my good friends (not to mention on my team) Amira trickles through.
âWhy does everyone in this Autumn Court look bummy?â The rude question isnât uncommon for Amira, though I wish she chose her moments.
âYouâre not supposed to say shit like that out loud!âMina, another teammate (and good friend) jokes.
Stifling up a laugh, and not wanting to attract attention, I whisper back âIf both of you donât shut the fuck up...â
âThis is why I donât work with themâ Yvonne sighs into the mic. She was the best informant Summer Court has ever had, and I was always grateful she was on my team. âThey never take shit seriously.â
âNeither do you, Von, shut up!â
âSwear to Nyx if yâall donât shut up, we can leave right now.â
âFineâŠâ they all chorus in my ear and I hear silence for the first time.
My eyes scan the crowd of people carefully, assessing each one before seeing my target. But before I could move into place, a flash of green appeared at the corner of my eye.
âOh fuck noâŠâ
I hated many things. The horrid smell of rotting flesh, bugs, failing my parents. But above all else, I hated a specific person. And if heâs here tonightâŠ
Well, it would make my life harder.
Sighing softly, I weave slowly through the crowd, not letting the clammy bodies touch me. Eventually, I make my way down to the main floor. Making sure that my ears were covered, I attempted to get closer to the target, feeling for the poison that was in the many pockets of the dress.
I feel someone touch my shoulder lightly and it takes everything in me to not grab the personâs arm and twist it. Instead, I turn around slowly, facing to meet lavender eyes.
Fuck. Hitoshi Shinsou, Autumn Courtâs Master Interrogator. If he was here, thenâŠ
âA dance mâlady?â He doesnât seem to recognize me as he stoops into a low bow, eyes scanning my face
âOh, he's kinda cute!â Mira whispers into the com.
âI havenât seen you around before. Are you new?â His voice breaks through the mumble of the communicator.
âWell, Iâm certainly not old.â That incites a chuckle from him.
âA lady with secrets, my favorite kind.â I scan the floor seeing the target get farther and farther away. I needed to get out of this situation and out of here.
âThe dance?â I quirk my lips up into a smile.
And with that, we dance. He wasnât a terrible dancer, spinning me âround the floor with a grace that only the Upper Ranks could achieve. I let myself get caught up in the dance, losing myself in the flow of the music.
â(Y/n). The missionâ Yvonneâs voice echoes in my ear as Iâm snapped back to reality. Right, the mission.
I suddenly pretended Shinsou stepped on my foot. Bending over in faux agony and forcing tears to come to my eyes, Shinsou fumbles at my pain. I feel a small pang of guilt, looking at his distressed face.
âOh gosh, Iâm so sorry. I didnât mean it.â He leads me over to a small sitting area, not a far distance from my target. Watching Shinsou get lost in the crowd I make my move.
I walked over, inching closer and closer to my target. There was a glass of ale his hand was resting on, delicate fingers winding around the glass. Pulling a small pill from one of the many pockets of my dress, I place it carefully into the glass. Making my way back across the room, I watch as my target drinks the ale âtill itâs empty to my original position.
âSpring Court has its usesâ, I thought smiling to myself.
âAll right, This is an Upper-Rank Investigation!â
Oh, come the fuck on. Â And right when I was leaving too.
A male voice rings out in the middle of the confused court members. I recognized that voiceâŠ
â(Y/n), get out of there!â Mina says into the communicator. Â âWorking on it.â Shit. Why were Upper-Rank boot lickers here? Shit, this was bad, I needed to get out of there.
I back away from the door slowly, trying not to bring attention to myself. A Â hand came out and gripped the back of my arm.
âWhere do you think youâre going, Summer Court scumâ the hot and familiar voice of Shinsou rings in my ear. I grit my teeth, fearing to say anything due to their power.
He rips the comm from my ear, and upon hearing the cries from my friends, crushes it
âWe have suspicion to believe that a Summer Court Assassin is here. Nobody moves, this will take a couple of minutes.â
And then I see him. The bane of my existence, everything in me sings in disgust and anger, as I try not to lunge at him. Izuku Midoriya. The heir to the Autumn throne. And my worst nightmare.
âNo need,â Shinsou calls out, a smirk gracing his features. âI got âer right hereâ
His cold green eyes bore into me as he smiles. âThere she is! My favorite assassin (Y/n)! Itâs good to see you again honey.â His voice was like syrup, undoubtedly sticky and sweet. The heady sound of hypnosis.
âSeize her guards! We finally got the infamous (Y/n), top assassin of the Summer court.â Â The guards move hesitantly like they were afraid. I hope so because they should be. Then everything happens all I once. I pull myself out of Shinsouâs grip, running towards the exit, which happens to be, in front of me.
âLucky me,â I smile unsheathing the concealed daggers slipping them into my hands âLooks like the Prince brought me toys to play with.â
Oh, how I missed fighting. The rush of dodging and weaving never knowing if my next move is going to be my last. The feel of the blades in my hands as I cut down opponents, watching their terrified faces fall to the ground one by one. It fills me with so much strength knowing that Iâm so much better than them.
And then my leg got nicked. The sharp sting of pain de-railing my train of thought.
âFuck,â I yelled out loud as more soldiers descended upon me. They threw my daggers away from me first, restraining my wrists and upper arm for no movements. They forced me to my knees, and I look around at the now-empty ballroom. The heavy smell of iron and salt dancing in the air as the blood of the fallen soldiers surround me. I wasn't squeamish, but I didn't really want to ruin my dress.
Footsteps echo towards me, the clanking of boots reverbing in my head. A gloved hand grips my chin, forcing me to look up. Green eyes bore into mines. âHi love,â Izuku smiles at my grimace at the nickname. âQuite a mess youâve made of my soldiers. Now, look at the extra work youâve given me. They were good people. Honest. And now-â
âNone of us are honest,â I spit the words at him âYou know that better than me.â
âMaybe I do and maybe I donât. Now hereâs the deal, pet. I will have to take you in now. You have made quite a name for yourself and have to turn you in. Nothing personalâ
âWith you? Everythingâs personal.â
Letting go of my chin, Izuku stands once more.
âYou might be right (Y/n). Youâll have a lot of time to reflect in your jail cell. Now sleep.â That was the last thing I heard before my eyes grew heavy and I fell asleep.
Miraâs Pov
I rip the communicator from my ear in anger, slamming the tiny black device onto the table.
âTaking your anger out on our stuff isnât going to make (Y/n) come back.â
I look over to the blank face of Von, rolling my eyes. (Y/n) got caught and by our intel (and the fact the Hitoshi Shinsou was there) were knew that the Autumn Court had taken her. And now the issue was how we were going to get her back.
âI mean,â Minaâs voice pops up, the small twinge of hope laced throughout her words. âWhy canât we just go in and take her back?â
âBecause Summer isnât really on good terms with Autumnâ
âAre we really on good terms with anyone?â Summer Courtâs standing had always been rocky with the others. We were always called the lowest, doing everyoneâs dirty job, but in fact, we knew more about the other Courts than everyone else. People fear what they donât understand and hate what they fear.
But these last few years, Autumnâs seemed to have a personal grudge with us. No one knew the exact details but it was something involving (Y/n) and the prince of Autumn.
âTheyâd kill us on the spot if they knew who we wereâ Vonâs voice cuts in through my thoughts.
âBut donât they realize they kidnapped the princess? This is asking for war!â Mina was right. If (Y/n) got hurt it wouldnât just be her parents that got mad.
âWhoâs going to tell Bakugou?â I ask softly. The van is quiet as we all debated internally.
âWell, Iâm not doing it. I actually like living and being here. You can fight it over if you two have a death wish.â
I shake my head at Von, signaling that I wonât do it either. Bakugouâs temper was infamous and when it comes to people he loves, there was no telling what he would do.
âFuck yâall. Now I have to go deal with the dumbass wrecking ball. If I get hurt, yâall gonna pay Spring Court to heal me.â
âYeah, yeah. Just make sure you dodge fast enough, or youâll actually get hurt.â Mina gives me a small smile in sympathy.
Sighing I head to the front of the car. We had to make it back before Autumn found us too. Iâd never hear the end of it from the king if we also got caught.
And with that, we drive off, chaos awaiting us in the Summer Court.
onto the next chapter?
Stoic face reader is so awesome! Could you do a tidbit of mikey sneaking into houses and offing people, and sneaking into one to find a super stoic person waiting on their dinner to finish cooking while eating candy, and offer him some?
âCandyâ
MichaelMyersxReader
Michael Myers, broken out of asylum, is INCREDIBLY hungry. Lucky for him, Y/n just finished some slow-cooked soup and offers him some when he breaks into her home! warnings: slight violence and cussing!
âUm, Sir, kill me if you must but that crisp twenty you took from the key tray is mine.â
Michael craned his head in absolute awe and confusion, for the fifth time this evening, to the person he had tied up hours ago. Not once did she resist or scream or seem even remotely scared.
âI was going to offer you candy when you showed up but now Iâm late for my theatre sessionâ and lucky for you I hold grudges.â
Michael wanted them to shut the fuck up but at the same time he never got a victim so talkative and he wanted to hear more. It was almost amusing.
Also, did they mention candy? Michael stood up, eyes on them the entire time as he walked over to the woman sitting on a chair with her hands tied. He grabbed their hair,
âOw.â He stared into their orbs with obvious want, until she decided to break the silence.
âWhat. Do you. Want?â She spat through her teeth.
Michael licked his lips and blinked. His mouth made the movements, and she could barely understand him. When she did, her eyes narrowed, and her expression turned spiteful.
âIâll take that secret to my grâOW fuck!â
âą one hour earlier âą
It was a calm October evening. The sun was just making its way under the horizon, and Y/n sighed in satisfaction. Today was an amazing day. She had just gotten the promotion she worked so hard for, and she didnât encounter any assholes today. She had such a positive outlook that it was nearly impossible for anyone to change it. For today, at least.
She decided to take up a new recipe in her slow cookerâ it was a long process but she knew it would be worth the wait with how delicious it looked! A perfect meal before she went to her theatre tonight!
It would be even more perfect with the box of candy she had stashed from last yearâs Halloween. Probably stale, but maybe not! She just loves candy, it would take a lot for her to shareâ but hey! No one decided to be rude today so maybe she would be generous.
She went to the pantry and found the bag stuffed in the corner, and before she could reach and pull it out, there was a thud from her front porch. It was like the neighborhood cat had gotten into one of her plants incidently, and Y/n huffed in irritation. As much as the loved Petey, he couldnât stop knocking over her chives.
She pulled her hand away from the bag and marched to the front door, yanking it open. Coincidently, not even a spot was left even near her plant collection. The chives remained untouched, the night breeze moving through the pines, and the darkness almost fully-fallen over Haddonfield.
Y/n shook her head with a smile, and went back into her house thoughtfully, swinging the door shut happily. At least her chives werenât hurt. She didnât really care for the noise. Maybe a squirrel fell out of a treeâ SHE doesnât know! Who cares?
Well she started to care a little bit when a 6â7 man with a mask on was standing over her slow cooker with obvious hunger in his eyes.
âItâll be ready in a few minutes.â Y/n said, grabbing a spoon from her utensil box and walking over the the pot. The man turned slowly but surely, over to look at her with eyes that swirled with thoughts. Y/n thought it was peculiar.
He didnât even move when Y/n opened the pot and the steam billowed out like a fire, into both of their faces.
âSmells so nice,â she mumbled to herself, and the man tried searching her face for anythingâ anything at all but her face was a blank page. It was like staring into a void.
After she was done working on it, she turned to him, âOh! I have some cââ Michael covered her mouth with his large hand, and dragged her away with her brow furrowed like she was confused as she dropped the spoon and tried to reach back for it but it was out of reach. Then she got this incredibly irritated look on her face and she just sighed and glared at the man the entire time as he tied her up harsher than she would have liked.
Michael then was looking around, observing his surroundings and the features of her home when something caught his eye. Who just leaves money lying around? He thinks. He walked into the hallway near the front door where her key tray was, and plucked a crisp twenty out of the ceramic tray.
âExcuse me? Hi, thatâs my Birthday money sir.â Michael stuffed it into one of his pockets silently as he walked back into the kitchen.
âCan you please put that back?â She yelled, face turning red in anger as she fought against the ropes at her wrists.
Michael then was drawn back to her chair where he was afraid she would break free, so he tightened them and added some more ropes to her ankles so she wouldnât stand up. She was kinda tiny anyway, so he wasnât too worried.
âWell you know how to treat a girl.â She mumbled, breaking the 5-minute long silence and Michael just stood up with the most perplexed look on his face and walked away so he could enjoy her dinner in peace.
âI told you already thatâs not done cookingââ Michael lifted the lid and started eating out of it with the spoon she dropped.
âUm, that was on the flâ okay.â
Michael slurped from the spoon, and a deep rumbling sound of approval was heard from across the room. Y/n sighed, wishing she could have some herself but these ropes were kind of tight.
At the sound he made, he looked up in embarrassment, looking for any look of judgement on her face so he could kill herâ but she just stared at the wall stoically.
Michael literally ate almost the entire pot. He ate until he wasnât hungry anymore, and dropped the spoon in satisfaction. He sighed. That was all he wanted, a nice mealâ all the other houses didnât have good food so he killed them off and went to the next house. This one takes the cake for sure, though.
Another noise came from across the room, it was her. Again. A pang of annoyance rang through Michael, and he looked up, studying her. She was humming something. Wait, what is that.. melody? Is that... Metallica?
Unbelievable. Michael craned his neck for the fourth time that night in awe of the indifference that she showed him this entire night. All he had to do was tie her up and eat and it was literally that simple. No âcatch-me-if-you-canâ bullshit he gets from the usual victims, no âlet-me-slam-my-door-on-your-fucking-foot-and-scream-like-a-bansheeâ gamesâ she was literally a piece of cake easy and that made this night 10 times better than usual.
Except sometimes she wouldnât shut up. Michael grunted, something that seemed to swallow Y/n wholeâ before she spoke up again.
âWhat else am I supposed to do?â She asked expectantly. Michael just stared at her. Thatâs when Y/n remembered her birthday money when she saw the twenty sticking out of his pocket.
âOh yeahâ Um, Sir, kill me if you must but that crisp twenty you took from the key tray is mine.â
âą Present time âą
âOW fuck!â She exclaimed as Michaelâs grip drew tighter, a fraction away from ripping it from the rootsâ and Y/nâs eyes squeezed shut from the pain.
âOkay! Iâll tell you where it is!â Michaelâs grip loosened barely to even consider it loosened, and Y/n looked up at him with calculating eyes. These eyes were different from before. They were, sharp. They were sharp as razors, and they seemed to cut right through Michael. It challenged his own gaze. A pleasant tingle washed through him, but it disappated at the sound of her voice.
âIf I tell you where it is, you have to bring me back my cigarettes. Deal?â She spoke unwaveringly, staring into his soul, daring him to break the deal. Michael blinked, then nodded.
âOkay good. The cigarrettes are in the drawer right there. The candy is in the pantry in the bag.â She cast a sideways glance to the kitchen, and Michael examined her, trying to read any lies on her face before letting go. She let out a huge sigh, wishing she could rub the crown of her head in relief.
Michael passed the drawer, and went straight for the pantry, almost immediately finding the bag and ripping it open, candy spilling everywhere as he cherry picked his favorites.
He then took the bag, walked over with his eyes locked the entire time with her gaze, and passed the drawer. He then plopped down on the couch and started eating his candy silently.
âWhat did I fucking expect.â She mumbled quietly to herself, shaking her head at the man who ate her stale Halloween candy without her on the couch, completely contented.
I hope you liked it!! đ
YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE DATES IN THIS FANFIC
22nd of August, 2023
It was about 3 am when you heard the doorbell.Â
It was him.
Your irritation had nothing to do with sleepiness or with the late-night hour he chose to come by. You were awake, thereâs no way youâd be able to sleep. You havenât slept well since the night he let you go. Your irritation had to do with him; he wouldnât be at your door if he wasnât drunk or horny, and the fact that he didnât understand this type of âmeetingsâ wouldnât be happening after that same night, pissed you off.
You were extremely pissed off.
Your anger was long gone as soon as you opened the door. He wasnât drunk, and he sure as hell didnât look horny, he was completely broken. His eyes were red and his face was puffy, he was a mess. If this had happened a month ago, you would have hugged him right away, trying to give him as much as a sense of comfort as you could and right now, you were trying to fight the urge to do exactly that. You had spent almost three weeks trying to convince yourself that he was a bad person and you weren't willing to give up all of your progress. Even though the look he was sending your way was yearning - almost begging - for some comfort coming from you.
His gaze was intense. He stared at you as if begging you to do something, he was lost, he had been for a long time now. He was begging you to let him in, and let him do whatever he wanted. He wanted you to do what you always did, he wanted to feel you. He wanted to feel as if he wasnât as lost as he actually knew he was. You always made him feel like at least something in his life was worth it, and that something was you.
âPlease let me in.â his voice was hoarse.Â
You didnât budge. You just stood there, looking at him dead in the eye. What the fuck were you supposed to do in this situation? You were so hopeless about anything that had to do with him at this point you couldnât even speak.Â
You didnât say a word, but he understood just what was going through your mind. He knew how caught up in your thoughts you could get and how much of a rational person you were. But right now there was nothing minimally rational you could do. Nothing about your relationship was rational.
He stepped closer to you and closed the door behind him, not breaking the eye contact once. That has always been his way to get more intimate with you, to make you open up to him.Â
His hand made its way to your cheek, his thumb caressing your cheekbone. His heart softened when he noticed the way you leaned into his touch.
âIâm sorry,â he whispered as his face got closer to yours, you could see the guilt in his eyes, even though your vision was already blurred up by the tears that managed to well up in your eyes.
His free hand rested on your shoulder, trying to push you towards him, but you stayed still, refusing to give in.
âPlease Y/N⊠Iâm so sorry, I didnât mean anything I said that night, I just, Iâve never felt like this with anyone else before you, I have no idea what Iâm supposed to do, or say, or how to deal with any of this- fuckâ he paused, taking the hand that was previously resting on your shoulder to his face, rubbing it harshly. â and I am sorryâŠâ he finally finished.
Your tears were already running free, and your face was probably a mess, but you didnât care.
âSay it,â You said sternly even though your voice was already wavering. He knew what you were referring to, of course he did. He was a very intelligent guy, even though he usually pretended no to be.
âIâm telling you what to do now, Jungkook, just say it,â you whispered, closing your eyes for a moment.
He looked at you, pain evident on his face, he didnât want to say it. Not because he didnât feel the same way you did, but because he wasnât brave enough to admit that he feels, that he can feel something as dangerous as love.
He opened his mouth several times, just to close it again. He couldnât say it, he was so afraid.Â
YeahâŠÂ Jungkook was afraid.Â
He was known by everyone around the city for being fearless. Because that was what he wanted people to think. He smokes, his body is embellished with tattoos, and he has fucked almost every girl in the town, forgetting their names the day after.
... But Jungkook was all talk.
He liked to be known, desired and even feared by some, but now, here he was, begging you to let him in.
Neither of you knew what to do. You were both scared. But then you understood he wasnât able to cross that line, and ignoring all the urges to kiss him right there, take all of his worries and insecurities off his chest and the doubtful look off his eyes, you decided to put an end to that.
âGet out.âÂ
11th of February, 2023
You were completely covered in work, sitting on your living roomâs floor. Anatomy books all around you. This had already became a very typical Saturday night for you. Your house was a complete mess, you didnât even manage to find time to eat, how would you have time to clean your small apartment?Â
Med school wasnât easy, it was far from easy. There was so much effort you had to put into it. You barely had a social life. Actually, all you had was your sister, your best friend, and a few friends from med school. You weren't particularly the social butterfly, and you couldn't really blame med school for that, you never liked to have many people around you. If you want to be a doctor, you have to forget having a life apart from the hospital, your full attention has to be directed to studying so you can save lives in the future.Â
The thing is, youâve wanted to be a doctor since you were 14 years old. You worked your ass off so that you could have the perfect grades, and get into med school without any problem. You knew it was going to be hard from the beginning, but you were a girl that like challenges, you loved being challenged; your competitive nature implied it. You have always liked to get things the hard way. Easy was boring.
Youâve always set your goals very high. You were an overachiever. And you were stubborn, you would never give up on your dreams. These were great characteristics for an aspiring doctor. You were sure you were on the right path.
Your studies were interrupted when Maggie, your sister, barged into your house. She had a spare key, you gave it to her when you moved into this apartment. She has always been your confidant, you told her every single thing that happened in your life. She knew everything there was to know about you, and you knew everything about her. Your relationship has always been awesome, youâve always treated each other as best friends and not really as sisters.Â
You had told her how stressed you were about med school the night prior, and you could hear in her voice how worried she got about your mental health, even though, the situation wasnât that bad, she tended to exaggerate. So it wasnât really surprising that she was in your apartment, all excited, telling you, you were going to a party tonight because you needed to get loose.Â
And even though you could see how happy and full of good intentions she was, you almost laughed at her face, well... actually, you really did laugh, a lot. It was just a really funny and almost ridiculous idea. It was really stupid of her to even think you would waste a night of study, for a party. You didn't even like parties!
You hated parties, actually!
You've always been kind of an introvert. You liked to have your own space, you loved to be alone, you loved to read, and you didn't like having other people invading your personal space.Â
"What are you even saying?" you asked, still laughing.
Your sister's expression fell the moment you said that, almost mocking her.
"We are going out, I already talked to Vicky, she's coming with us. Get ready, you have one hour, we are leaving at 9pm and we still have to pick Vicky up"
Vicky was your best friend, you were so surprised Maggie got her to leave her house. Vicky was also an introvert, she was even worse than you.
"Hurry up!" she screamed, already impatient.
You were left staring at her, completely dumbfounded, before she grabbed your arm and pushed you into the bathroom.
You were already in Maggie's car. The tight black dress you were wearing was utterly and completely uncomfortable. The three of you were already on your way to the party, you couldn't be more panicked. You haven't come to a party since you were 15, you didn't even know how to act in a party, what were you supposed to do? You looked at Vicky, in the backseat, she was just as nervous as you were, you couldn't find her situation more relatable. Your eyes crossed and you both knew what each of you was feeling at that exact moment.
It had always been like this. You've always understood and known each other like the back of your hands. Your mothers were best friends, and when she was born, you were only one year old. You grew together and got used to each others' presence. Now you were almost inseparable.Â
When you got to the party, the smell of smoke and the loud suggestive music invaded your senses. You weren't used to this kind of environment, and you didn't like it, not one bit.
In the middle of the party, Maggie was already on the dance floor, and she had already denied dancing with at least 5 different guys. Everyone was just so drawn to her, you couldn't blame them. Maggie was absolutely stunning, she had always been the pretty girl of the family. Vicky was seated beside you at the bar when Maggie came and basically pulled her to dance. She tried to do the same with you, but she gave up as soon as you sent her your most intimidating gaze.
"Sorry, can I get a cosmopolitan, please?" you asked the bartender. If your friends dragged you here, you should, at least, drink something, right?
The bartender gave you your drink a bit after matched with an apologetic look, probably used to seeing other people in the same situation you were.Â
Sipping your drink you looked up to see all kind of people dancing and laughing at each other. This couldn't really be considered dancing, all everybody attempted to do was grinding on each other, exchanging partner if their rhythms of grinding werenât similar. Disgusting. Purely disgusting.
Your discomfort only increased when your eyes locked with another pair of brown orbs, that were already fixed on yours. His gaze was intense, so intense that he got you shifting in your seat and adjusting your dress, so it would cover your legs properly - if that was even possible. He must have noticed your agitation because you swear to god, you saw him smirking. You tried looking somewhere else, but his gaze was fixed on you, and at some point, you forgot the nervousness you had felt some seconds before, giving up on keeping your eyes away and looking straight at him. All your confidence was long gone when he decided to stand up and started walking towards you, never breaking the eye contact.
You haven't really noticed how attractive that stranger was but now that his face was lightened up by the red neon lights of the pub you were in, you could see it perfectly. His face was flawless - his dark hair was pulled back as if he had just run his fingers through it, his gaze was sharp and intense, you could see he felt challenged, looking straight at your eyes, his lips were slightly parted, and apparently moisturized and you could clearly see how chiselled his jawline was.Â
For your contentment, he looked away first, but kept his eyes on you, analyzing your body now. He was wearing a simple white t-shirt, but the muscles beneath it were definitely noticeable. His arms were also muscular and he had some tattoos covering them. The tight jeans he was wearing left you almost drooling at how muscular and defined his tights seemed to be. His steps were languid and slow. The tension between you two was palpable, and while you were focused on his eyes and the desire that they exuded, everyone else was gone, it was just the two of you.
What a fucking prick...Â
"Hey princess," he said when he got to your side, sitting in one of the fancy stools that stood by the bar after pulling it closer to yours.Â
If he thinks that with that little fuckboy talk he's going to take you to bed, he's wrong. So wrong...
"You should get back to your friends." he was taken aback by your words, it was obvious by the way he looked at you, but the surprised look didn't last long, quickly being replaced by that stupidly desirable smirk he'd been wearing since his eyes laid on your figure and a soft tilt os his head.
"You were so excited looking at me across the room... Acting all confident. Now that I'm finally here, you send me away... Am I making you nervous, baby?"
"God, you're so full of yourself... Is that your tactic to get girls to go home with you?" you looked at him, clearly annoyed.Â
It was clear he wasn't liking how rude you were sounding, but you couldn't care less.Â
He laughed a bit, low and hoarsely, amused by how feisty you were, getting even closer to you, after poking the inside of his cheek.
"You think I want to take you home?" he looked at your eyes defyingly, clearly mocking you. His face was so close to yours that you could see the rage he was feeling and hiding, almost flawlessly, through his eyes. "I wouldn't want to take you home." he stared, waiting for you to snap. God, he was so rude.
"Fuck off," you said with a neutral voice, daring to send him a little ironic smile.
"I'm not sayin' I'm not up to fuck you, but not necessarily in my house" he chuckled in a low tone and looked at you with the same challenging look he was wearing earlier. He was severely testing your patience, but you were determined to not give him the satisfaction of seeing you lose your cool.
You looked at him. The disgust you were feeling was evident, he noticed it.
"When are you going to shut the fuck up?" you asked, almost losing your patience, which you'd been preserving for a long time now.
You stood up, ready to leave him there.Â
He was ready to say something else but noticing you had already left he was left staring at your uncovered back and your hips that were adorned by your tight little black dress.Â
You knew you were one hell of a woman. You've always had your insecurities just like everyone else, but you knew how beautiful you were on top of all those imperfections.
You looked back and smirked when you saw him staring at your ass, biting his bottom lip.
You sat in a velvety sofa in the bar, still holding your drink, but the thought of those lips and shiny eyes was still haunting you, and the fact that he was still persistently staring your way wasn't helping. You felt your body relax a bit when he finally stood up and stepped towards the dance floor.
A while later, Maggie and Vicky were walking towards the couch you were sitting on and threw themselves on it, completely wasted.
"Hey, I gave your number to a really hot guy. I think you're getting laid in the next week!" Vicky screamed at the top of her lungs excitedly and you wondered who she could be talking about, running your eyes through the unfamiliar faces that filled the bar.
âFinally!â Maggie added to Vickyâs exaggerated statement.
Your heart stopped the moment your eyes locked with the ones you've been dreadfully thinking about for the last hour. He was smirking as if he had heard your friends - which he probably did.Â
He studied your expression falling as realization fell on you. He had won. And when you found yourself lost in his eyes from across the room, imagining what he could do to you, you were pretty sure you had lost.
The Sins Of Your Past Affect Our Future
HERE IT IS! Boy howdy this one is long but I think itâs my favourite thing Iâve written so far. I love it to bits! Okay, thank you for all your support and onwards with the chapter!
------------------------------
  As Corona came into sight, Varian, Yong and Nuru got more and more excited and Hugo felt more and more dread grow in his stomach. This was it - their last trial and the last time theyâd truly be a team. After this, theyâd all part ways and never see each other again. Except..none of them wouldâve completed their goals. Well, other than him. Donellaâs deadline was tomorrow and heâd have to say goodbye to the bonds heâd built. His bond with Yong, where heâd show him different alchemical techniques purely to one-up Varian each time, a smug grin on his features at Yongâs amazement and Varian frustration. His bond with Nuru as theyâd bicker and insult each other, but still silently (begrudgingly in Nuruâs case) agree to protect the other two if anything went sour. And his bond with Varian which...was difficult to describe.Â
  He didnât get what it was about the other boy. Whether it was his looks, his personality or something like that...he couldnât stop himself from doing the one thing that Donella warned him not to do. He got attached VERY quickly, wanting nothing more than to gain the otherâs affection in some way. Yet here they were. Two years later with no luck or success whatsoever in making Varian like him. He didnât get it! He was handsome, funny and smart! How the hell could Varian NOT be interested? It frustrated him to no end - nights spent on watch wondering what the hell was the otherâs deal. Initially he wouldâve assumed the boy was straight, but..after finding out about his borderline obsession with Flynn Rider, he could just tell he wasnât.Â
  âHello? Earth to Hugo?â Varian called, waving his hand in front of the blondeâs face before finally getting his attention. Hugo flinched back in embarrassment and shook his head, trying to erase any thoughts of the other boy from his mind..for now. âHey you alright? You were zoning out there for a second.âÂ
  âIâm fine.â Hugo replied, a bit more aggressively than heâd intended. Shit, he didnât mean to be that rude to him at this moment in time, he was just...distracted. By things and feelings he didnât want to feel, because they would hurt him more in the long run and hurt Varian if he acted on them. At first he really wouldnât have cared and would have just used Varian, taken what he wanted and turned on him almost immediately, but..he just didnât think he could do that to the younger man. Two years was a long time to spend around someone, and when that someone was as charismatic and intelligent as Varian, it was hard to NOT fall in love with him.
  âAlright you guys!â Varian declared, standing on a bridge with Ruddiger chittering excitedly from his perch on his right shoulder and Prometheusâ reins in hand, âWelcome to Corona, my kingdom.â And with that, him, Nuru and Yong broke into a sprint across the brick bridge, Hugo letting a small chuckle pass through his lips as he watched before following along contently.
  As he passed through the stone archway at the end of the bridge, moss and ivy tangling together up the sides, he could see the hustle and bustle of town. So many people he could steal from, though..he snuck a glance at Varian, Nuru raising her eyebrow in his direction in disapproval as if she could read his thoughts. He neglected his former thoughts. He was a changed man! Besides, Varian wouldnât want him to get kicked out of his home kingdom before they had the chance to complete the trials as a team. Speaking of their team, the other three all began to regroup in the city centre beside a small fountain, Yong taking a seat on the brick wall surrounding it beside Nuru and Varian as Hugo stood before them.Â
  âOkay so, tonight is the lantern festival and..before we complete the trial, I kinda want you all to see it. Just as a nice goodbye before we all go our separate ways. Y'know? But first, weâve got to meet Xavier to ask about the Demanitus device and some other things.â Varian explained, his voice sounding slightly saddened as he mentioned the idea of their makeshift found family disbanding. Hugo wanted to comfort him, but Yong already beat him to it.Â
  âWhat do you want to do when we open the library?â Yong asked, a smile on his face as he leant forward and met Varianâs eyes. âI know that I want to make something that doesnât explode. Something to make my family know Iâve changed!â He declared as he put his hands on his hips in a very Varian-esque way.Â
  âI know that Iâm going to find a way to stop the comet, or at least mitigate the effects of the meteor showers. Just, find a way to help my people. How about you, Varian?â Nuru tilted her head to the side, smiling reassuringly and resting a hand on Varianâs knee. Jealousy began to rise in Hugo, before he shook his head and bit the inside of his lip. No. None of that. Nuru was happy with Amber and Varian was very clearly not into women or Nuru at all.Â
  âI just want to finish my motherâs work. I want to be able to know that she didnât die out of nowhere and that she can rest easy knowing everything was done.â Varianâs tone seemed sad, his eyes focused on the cobbled streets of Corona. âHow about you, Hugo?â
  Hugo paused. He..really hadnât thought about it. He was supposed to just go back to his normal life of stealing and conning people before returning to Donella, but now he wasnât so sure that was what he wanted. âThatâs personal, goggles.â He simply replied. âNow, whoâs this Xavier you were talking about?âÂ
  âOh! Right!â Varian responded quickly, seemingly brushing off Hugoâs admittedly cryptic response. âXavierâs the townâs blacksmith. Really nice guy, but very...very knowledgeable about legends and all that. Tends to go on and on about them. Heâs interesting though! Just..talks a lot.â He shrugged and led them down the winding streets, the gang following close behind. Hugo watched as Varian walked with a slight skip in his step - probably the joy of being back in his hometown as opposed to how beaten down he was after leaving Galcrest after the earth trial. He canât say he understood the feeling of having to leave your family behind - having never had one, but he could see family meant a lot to Varian and to have that ripped away from him..it mustâve hurt.
  After what seemed like twenty minutes of walking, they arrived outside of a blacksmithâs shack, the man inside whistling a little tune before turning and his face lighting up at the sight of Varian. âVarian, my boy! Itâs so good to see you!â he called before pulling the boy into a tight embrace, his eyes shut with his elation at the manâs presence very clear. Hugo couldnât help but let out a little chuckle, alerting the man to the odd trio waiting at the entrance. âOh, and you must be his friends he met on the way.â Xavierâs kind eyes looked Hugo up and down, a knowing smirk making its way onto his face before continuing, setting an uneasy feeling in Hugoâs stomach. Why was he smiling at him like that?Â
  âYeah, these are Nuru, Yong and Hugo.â Varian spoke nonchalantly, looking at Hugo with a strange look he couldnât quite place to one emotion. Xavier gave a little âahâ accompanied by a knowing nod and walking towards a small, glossy bookcase. By the looks of it, it was covered in books about old legends such as the cheating willows (very obscure, in Hugoâs opinion, and Varian seemed to groan at the sight of the title as though heâd remembered a difficult memory.) and quickly, Xavier pulled out a scroll of parchment paper and unraveled it on the table. The teens gathered around the table and looked down at the schematics in front of them revealing a machine of some sorts. Upon closer inspection, he could see how the various parts of the totems fit together in intricate ways to make the machine. Hugo took a second to glance up at Varian, the younger man deeply focused on the paper in front of him, and an affectionate smile drifted onto his face, however it left before anyone could call him out for it and especially before Varian could realise he was staring. Not that he was anyway. Totally not.Â
   âThank you, Xavier. This is perfect!â Varian called, gathering the blueprints in his arms and heading back towards the street. Before Hugo could follow suit, a warm hand settled on his shoulder and turned him around.Â
  âSo youâre Hugo, hmm?â Xavier said with a smile, raising an eyebrow. âVarian has sent the princess many letters discussing you. More so than about the rest of your friends. It seems youâve made a strong impression on him.â Shit. Did Varian know what he was planning to do? He knew the other was probably suspicious at first, but after the countless nights theyâd spent by the campfire and the almost intimate moments theyâd shared...he couldnât still feel that way right? Hugo thought heâd integrated himself into their group pretty well, hell, even Nuru trusted him, so..why wouldnât Varian? âAll I will say is..I can tell a thief when I see one. And I can also see youâre conflicted. You may know what you want, but is it really what you need?â The blacksmith stated, encapsulating Hugoâs confused expression with a soft smile.Â
  âHugo, you coming?â Varian asked, breaking Hugo away from his thoughts and prompting him to follow along after the others quietly. What the hell did he mean? Did..did he know? How could the old man know? Why was he being so cryptic about it as well? Is what he wants what he needs? Well, he wants money and you definitely need that, so what the hell was he talking about? Conflicted? Was it that obvious? Ugh. It was all hurting his head far too much. All of it was so...confusing. âOkay guys,â Varian beamed, turning with a large smile on his face. One that made Hugoâs cheeks heat up and Nuru grin smugly at him. âSo, we have time to celebrate the lantern festival! Where do you want to go first?â Varian declared, clasping his hands together with a wide grin.
  âThe dancing!â Yong yelled, grasping Varian and Hugoâs hands and pulling them along with Nuru in tow. âI saw it earlier and I thought it would be fun!â As they were pulled along the streets, Hugo swore he saw a red flush on Varianâs cheeks, though he pushed it aside in favour of dodging the Coronan citizens that flooded the streets. Upon reaching the market space, Yong pulled away, causing Varian to trip. Hugo, ever the agile one, lunged and pulled the other man flush against his chest to help prevent his fall.Â
  âAre you alright?â he asked, though Varian gave him no response, setting an intense stare that locked their eyes together before nodding and hastily looking away.Â
  âYeah, Iâm fine.â The other muttered, straightening his shirt and dusting off his waistcoat before moving away from Hugo, much to his disappointment. Happy couples spun and swayed around them to the rhythm of the music, Varian glancing around and biting the inside of his cheek. âWE stick out like a sore thumb, donât we?âÂ
  âHow about we blend in, then?â Hugo questioned, bowing and holding his hand out. âVarian Ruddiger, would you bless me with the privilege of sharing a dance?â He pushed his glasses up with his free hand, fully expecting Varian to reject him and his advances as heâd done oh so many times. Much to his surprise, Varianâs gloved hand slipped into Hugoâs with the ghost of a smile on his face as he did so, their eyes meeting once again. âWow. Okay then.â Hugo whispered under his breath, pulling Varian closer to him and shifting a hand to his waist as the otherâs moved onto his shoulder and, once in the proper posture, they began to join in with the dance around them.
  They spun and swayed and laughed as they glided around the street, Hugo picking Varian up and spinning him around in the air before setting him down in a fit of giggles and smiles and, before they knew it, it was nightfall. âHey, come with me.â Varian whispered, slowly pulling Hugo away to a desolate, brick bridge after purchasing two lanterns from a vendor. They both took a seat, their feet grazing the water as they sat in a comfortable silence together before Varian broke it. âI used to come here a lot after my redemption. It was hard to admit people had forgiven me when I couldnât even forgive myself, even though they assured me every day I was forgiven. It was the one place I had that no one knew where I could sit with Ruddiger and relax. I wanted to bring you here, because..you mean a lot to me, Hugo. Youâve become so important to me over such a small amount of time and I trust you more than anything else. You know what I mean?âÂ
  âIâm starting to.â Hugo responded, eyes fixed on the boy beside him as the lanterns, previously in their hands, floated into the sky. They joined the mass of them already in the sky, though theirs twirled in their own, secretive rhythm. Hugo silently brushed his fingers against Varianâs before slipping his hand into the otherâs, enjoying the small moment of intimacy between the two after heâd spent the past two years chasing after him and relentlessly flirting..it was nice to know his feelings were reciprocated. Guilt began to settle in his stomach over what he was about to do to the boy beside him but..a few more hours of pretending never hurt anyone, right?
  âGuys?â They heard Yong yell, their hands pulling away from each otherâs and moving from their comfortable position on the bridge as they looked away from the almost perfect scene theyâd created together in what felt like their own little bubble away from the rest of the world. Just them without a care in the world. Varian cleared his throat, the hand that previously held Hugoâs rubbing the back of his neck before he began to speak.
  âI guess we should get back to them. It..has been a while.â he commented before turning on his heel and heading away from Hugo before he could give an answer. Oh well, there was always next time-oh wait. No there wasnât. Hugo bit his lip at the thought before shaking his head and jogging to catch up with the others. No. He wasnât gonna think like that. Not right now when he was so so close to finishing his mission. He couldnât let himself think he was wrong and feel something.
  They kept heading along the lit paths of Corona towards the castle, a purple blur tackling Varian in a tight hug on the floor. The other three couldnât help but snort with laughter as Varian writhed to get out of the bone crushing hug he was forced to endure. âVarian! Oh my god it's been far too long! Howâs my little brother doing?â She gasped at the sight of the others, âOH MY SUNDROP! See! I told you youâd make friends along the way! Itâs a pleasure to meet you all!â she exclaimed, finally relenting in her tight hug and standing, also allowing Varian to follow suit. âHi, Iâm princess Rapunzel!âÂ
  âRapunzel, this is Yong, Nuru and..Hugo.â Varian paused before saying Hugoâs name, a smile wide on Rapunzelâs face as the blondeâs name was uttered. Did...did they all know something he didnât? Everyone had been giving him creepy smiles all day! Rapunzel, who was now babbling about something or the other, pulled Varian along and gestured for the gang to follow along. All he really picked up on was some guy called Eugene was asleep because of guard duty or something like that, he really didnât care. All he wanted was to get a good nightâs sleep.
  After being redirected to their rooms, Hugo immediately flopped onto the king sized bed in front of him, stretching out across it with a wide grin. Now this..this was what he wanted. There was...an abundance of green items for a kingdom that had all other rooms decorated in purple and gold. Maybe Varian had written to them about their favourite colours? He supposed Nuru would love it here, being as purple was her favourite colour. He felt himself slowly slipping into the realm of slumber before a knock sounded at the door. âBleugh..come in!â he yelled out, rubbing his hand over his face and propping himself up on his elbows, putting his glasses on before seeing Varian enter through the large doors in his pyjamas. That...certainly wasnât who he was expecting. âOh, hey hairstripe.â he mumbled, an eyebrow raised in confusion, âWhatâs up?â
  âCan I sleep with you tonight?â the raven haired boy blurted out, before quickly resigning on himself. âIâm sorry-itâs dumb and I should uh-I should go. Sorry to bother you, Hugh.â He began, turning to rush out of the doors before Hugo leaped over the end of his bed and grabbed his wrist in a vice-like grip.
  âI-no Varian, itâs fine. You can sleep with me!â he almost yelled, essentially pulling the boy back over and closer to his chest. His face flushed as he realised the potential implications of his actions and words. âOh god no thatâs not what I meant.â he awkwardly stuttered out. Stuttering? Really? THIS was the level he was at with his crush on the other boy? Wow. Totally suave and seductive of him, wasnât it? Varian, however, ignored this, letting out a small snort of laughter before shuffling away and sitting on the bed twisting and rubbing the silk, emerald sheets between his delicate fingers. âSo, hairstripe. Whatâs wrong?â Hugo asked, moving to lay back beside the younger man, who promptly laid beside him and rested his head on his chest. The blonde felt his face flush as the manâs fingers, previously rubbing the sheets, moved to trace small shapes over his chest.Â
  âYâknow when you said you didnât know what you wanted to do after all this is over? I..kinda hoped youâd stay here. With me. In Corona. I think we work well as a team together and...I really want you to join me with my royal duties. We could open the library together and teach people the merits of alchemy. I just..donât want to do it alone. I donât want you to be alone.â Varian admitted, keeping his focus on Hugoâs pyjama shirt and the little intricate details sewn into the fabric. Hugo glanced down at the other, smiling sadly and absentmindedly playing with his hair carefully, strands weaving in between his digits.
  âYâknow...I will. I wouldnât mind being able to stay with the infamous âVarian Ruddiger, the royal alchemist of Coronaâ. It certainly sounds like a good lifetime. I mean, being able to one-up you for the rest of my life? Sounds perfect.â he chucked, Varian joining him in his little serenade of laughter as he curled up closer against his chest. âYeah, Iâll stay, Varian.â He whispered as the boy fell asleep on his chest. âIâll stay for you.â he gently brushed the raven haired boyâs fringe aside and placed a kiss to his forehead, setting his glasses aside and letting himself slip into a comfortable sleep.
------------------------------
  At the noise of Yong yelling âWake Upâ outside of his door, Hugo groaned and opened his eyes, unable to move with a weight on his chest. He glanced down to see Varian stirring as well. Oh yeah, Varian slept with him. As in..shared a bed together in a completely platonic and friendly way. He really needed to work on his wording, didnât he? âAlright hairstripe, câmon. Time to get up.â He grumbled as he pushed himself, with a surprising amount of effort needed, to his feet and put on his glasses that were resting on a table beside his larger than necessary bed. Varian followed suit with much frustration, the man absolutely hating mornings to no end.Â
  Breakfast went far faster than theyâd realised and soon enough they were trekking down the underground tunnels of the castle to where they had to build the Demanitus device. And, of course, the all too familiar feeling of guilt began to make Hugo feel nauseous the further they went. He didnât want to do this anymore. All he wanted was to live the life him and Varian dreamt up last night together in the guest room. He wanted to watch Nuru become the magnificent queen she was destined to be. He wanted to watch Yong succeed in making his family proud - though he was sure he already had. He didnât want to go back to the sad, sad life he was living before. But he was too late. In that moment, everything the old man had said fit together perfectly - like a puzzle that only had one piece remaining and heâd finally solved it.Â
  He needed Varian.Â
  Hugoâs feet faltered in the tunnels as the other three assembled the machine, Hugo watching them intently. No. He didnât want to leave everything theyâd built together. Every intimate and affectionate moment they shared alone, like the lanterns, the dancing and the night before. He wasnât ready for any of this to stop. With a start, the three moved back to join him and the machine jumpstarted, a sickly blue swirling to signify itâs entrance that blew their hair around wildly. Everything was going swimmingly, until broken laughter echoed through the room and Donella revealed herself, the light from the portal lighting up her face.Â
  âWell done, Hugo. You really have made me proud! Now, how about all of you step back and let me and my son do what we were always meant to do.â She declared, holding an alchemical solution in her hand, âHugo, over here. Now.â
  âSo, youâre working with her then?â
  Varianâs voice didnât shake once, his glare cold, even though it burned straight through Hugo like a hot poker. It was uncomfortable - a calm and collected look on his face, though Hugo could tell there was murderous intent behind those azure eyes that were fixed on him. He didnât even register the angered looks of Nuru and Yong or the feeling of Donellaâs rough hands resting on his shoulders - all he could see or focus on was the man in front of him.
  âWhy of course he was! The plan was always to betray you. Why else would he return the totem to you after stealing it so efficiently? We knew youâd be a problem as Ullaâs son. Iâd honestly thought all her research had died with her in that wretched place, but no. One part of her still remained. So I told him to stay with all of you until you had all the totems, so it would be easier for us to get in. And it worked!â She laughed once again, doubling over with a wide smile and crossing her arms over her stomach.
  âVarian Iâm sorry.â he whispered, his voice seeming too weak to even belong to him. He couldnât believe how vulnerable heâd made himself only the night before with his boy. All the walls heâd built up over the past twenty one years had crumbled at his feet in this one moment, Varianâs face contorting in disgust as he turned away from Hugo. Hugo could swear he felt his heart physically shatter in his chest as he watched the other stare at the entrance to the library and step even closer. His hair blew wildly the closer he stepped towards it. âVarian please, I didnât know!-â he cried desperately.
  âIâm going in. Donât be here when I get back.â he yelled, running through and entering the library. As soon as he could, Hugo ran to try and enter, his body merely colliding with the now-locked entrance of the portal, a magical seal put on it. Pain reverberated through his body, him ignoring it as he kept fruitlessly slamming his body against the entrance to no avail. No. No no no this was NOT how it was meant to happen! They were a team and were meant to do this together! Well- he supposed Nuru, Varian and Yong were the team now, since Hugoâs initial less than sweet intentions had been revealed, but..judging by how they were standing beside him with their arms folded and Donella trapped in one of Varianâs goo solutions..they felt just as betrayed.
  âGuys.â Hugo stuttered as he slowly backed away. âLook, I know you two hate me-âÂ
  âHate is an understatement.â Nuru began, her tone bitter and dripping with hatred, âYou used us. You hurt all of us and now, because of your momentous fuck up, Varian has trapped himself in the library with NO WAY of getting to him because you couldnât swallow your pride for one second! Youâre so-god, youâre worse than Donella!â her voice progressed into a yell, shoving a finger into his chest as Yong stood back in shock at the outburst. âYouâre evil, Hugo! Absolutely evil! So just leave!â
  âListen to me, Nuru!â Hugo declared, stepping forward as he looked down at the hurt girl in front of him, âI know I fucked up and I was wrong, but I swear to you I was going to turn on Donella! I love Varian more than anything else in this life and I am going in there to apologise whether you like it or not, because he is the one thing I know for certain I canât live without! I regret everything Iâve done and I need to go to him! Iâll get out of your hair and Yongâs but please for the love of god, set your biases aside and understand that I love him and need to go to him now! Please!â he yelled, brushing away tears that he hadnât even realised were running down his cheeks before turning and continuing his relentless pounding against the door.Â
  By some miracle, the lock on the library broke down and Hugo, unluckily, fell straight to the floor with a loud âoofâ. The pain, however, wasnât his main concern as he forced himself to his feet and began sprinting across the marble floor and passing the endlessly tall bookshelves. They towered over him and formed a mini labyrinth as he tried to track down Varian and find his way to where he could be. He desperately needed to apologise to the boy. His footsteps only grew faster as the screaming and sobbing started, providing him with an indicator of the direction he needed to go and a deep pit of dread and guilt that developed in his stomach as it grew louder and louder. This was all his fault.Â
  Hugo turned a corner, met with the sight of Varian on his knees. His fingers pulled at his hair as his eyes glowed a sickly neon green, tears trailing down from his eyes with his waistcoat open as he shook. A transparent woman stood behind him, a maniacal grin on her face as she inflicted pain upon the man on the floor. âLet him go!â Hugo yelled, sprinting over and breathing heavily as he desperately tried to get to Varian to try and help him.Â
  âOh hello there!â Varianâs lips moved, though a womanâs voice came out as Varianâs fist swung and connected with Hugoâs right cheek, knocking him aside and his glasses falling off his face to the marble floor with the right lens cracking. âPleasure to meet you! Iâm Ulla!â her voice was far too chirpy for what she was doing, manipulating Varianâs body to stand over him.Â
  âVarian! Varian listen to me! Please, you need to fight her! We need you! I need you!â He yelled, trying to get through to the other man as Ulla controlled Varianâs body, moving a boot to step on Hugoâs chest. His air was getting far too restricted, the pressure on his chest hurting as Ulla kept pressing down more and more. He started to lose consciousness, his vision blacking out as he struggled to get air. It hurt so much. âVarian, please! Come back to me! I love you!â he cried out before his vision went completely black.Â
  When he came to, he found his glasses placed on his face and his head in Varianâs lap, staring up at the tear-stained face of the man in question. âHugo.â His voice rasped as he pulled him into a hug, Hugoâs ribs burning as Varian gave him a bone crushing hug. âYou came back-oh my god you came back-â
  âIâm so sorry, Varian.â Hugo croaked as his hand moved to the back of Varianâs head, playing with the strands of his coal hair. His eyes shut as he held the other man close on the library floor. âIâm so sorry. I didnât-Iâm an absolute idiot.â he apologised profusely as Varian tried to shush him.Â
  âHugo. Hugh, I forgive you.â The blue eyed man shuffled back and cupped Hugoâs cheek with his hand, a tearful smile on his face. âI love you too.â He said, voice soft with affection, as he leaned forwards and their lips joined in a dainty yet exhausted first kiss, bruises and cuts covering their faces and body. Neither cared though, content to be with each other once again after everything theyâd just been through. Hugo shuffled away from the kiss, wincing at the pain in his ribs from Ullaâs relentless attack. âShit, youâre hurt. Câmon. We should get back to the others.â Varian muttered to himself, moving to his feet and helping Hugo up who swung an arm around his shoulders. The pair stumbled, their limbs aching with pain as they approached the portal to the library. Glancing at each other one last time, Hugo gave Varian a kiss on the cheek and they walked through with gentle smiles on their face.
------------------------------
  Three months later and he, Varian and Donella had found a way to officially open the libraryâs doors for good permanently. Three months later and he and Varian had been declared the official librarians, now teaching students interested in alchemy about the art. Three months later and Nuru had found a way to mitigate the effects of the meteor and Yong had become a prodigy in his own right back in Koto. Three months later and Corona was having a large ball in celebration of the libraryâs opening. Three months later and Hugo still felt guilt gnawing away at him each and every time he looked at his partner.
  He didnât deserve any of this. All the joy and newfound family and immediate forgiveness from everyone around him. He was a bad person - heâd hurt Nuru and Yong. Heâd hurt Varian, so how did they all forgive him so quickly? Over the past few months, heâd only come to one conclusion: they were all faking it. They were all faking that he was forgiven so they could all stab him in the back later. He supposed he deserved it, if he was being honest, for everything theyâd let him get away with, with almost no consequences for his actions. He had everything he wanted in life, but he didnât deserve it whatsoever. He didnât deserve his loving boyfriend.
  Hugo sighed as he leant against the wall, watching everyone celebrate the occasion, yet he couldnât be happy for them. Varian glanced over at him, a saddened smile on his face as he walked over to Hugo. âHey babe, how about we get outta here and go to bed? Itâs pretty late and I know you hate nobles as much as I do.â He called out over the music in the room, Hugo nodding in agreement before their fingers intertwined and they exited the large ballroom to head to their bedroom.Â
--------------------------
  âYou know we all hate you, right?â Nuruâs voice echoed in his head as he glanced down at her, fury in her voice as she kept edging closer to him. âYouâre a monster for everything you did. You donât deserve anything you have.â  âSheâs right and you know it.â Yong said from behind him. They were both ganging up on him now. Suffocating him and cornering him. âYou hurt all of us, what makes you think weâve even forgiven you?â
  âGuys, wait-â Hugo pleaded, his back hitting a figure behind him. Hugo turned to see Varian glaring up at him. âVarian are you okay?â he whispered, reaching his hand out before it was slapped away by the man in front of him.Â
  âYou really think I actually love a monster like you? Youâre disgusting. You thought you could play me like everyone else in your sad little life to hurt me more than you already have. You donât even deserve the oxygen you breathe.â Varian snapped.Â
  âVarian-â Hugo choked out between tears, feeling the other rest his hands on his chest and shove him back roughly. He felt himself falling deeper and deeper into the dark abyss around him, with no way of reaching the trio that were already leaving him for dead. âVarian! VARIAN!â he screamed out.Â
  âVarian!â Hugo called out breathily as he sat bolt upright in bed, his chest heaving and eyes searching round frantically for the other male. Luckily, he found his target fast asleep behind him, his warmth providing him with some comfort among his distress. Hugo slowly laid back and turned away from Varian onto his side, staring at the wall in the darkness as he let himself drift off deep into thought.
  Of course Varian would find it hard to forgive him - he was finding it hard to forgive himself for hurting the man next to him and he wasnât sure if he ever would. After all, it had only been three months since their showdown in the library and heâd convinced himself that Varian only said he loved him as some kind of messed up thank you. His eyes narrowed as he stared at the wall, turning on his side in their small bed before arms snaked around his waist and a gentle kiss was placed to the base of his neck, courtesy of the subject of his thoughts.
  âI can hear the cogs in your head turning...whatâs wrong, sweetheart?â his boyfriend whispered, his lips ghosting over the nape of his neck with every word he spoke from those beautiful, rosy lips. Slender fingers traced little circles on his hip to calm him, the warm figure behind him whispering sweet nothings. âIf itâs about what happened three months ago..â
  âYeah it is, Varian. How? How could you love someone like me after all the things Iâve done?â Hugo pushed himself up into a sitting position, his eyes refusing to meet the otherâs face out of fear for what heâd see. Disgust? Hatred? Pity? Whatever it was, he didnât want to see it. He didnât deserve his sympathy. âI took advantage of you, Varian, after youâd been hurt so much..I was so...blind to what I needed that I didnât even- god, Iâm an idiot!â he pulled at his hair as tears threatened to flow down his cheeks. âIâm so sorry. You deserve so much better than a mess like me.âÂ
  âHugh, darling. IâŠâ Varian let out a small sigh and sat up, taking his freckled hands and wrapping them around Hugoâs wrists gently. He lowered his hands to stop their assault on his hair, the pair locking eyes. âYou heard the stories about the lost princess, right? And about the dashing rogue who saved her? Well, they went to see the lanterns and..apparently thatâs when they fell in love. I never understood it before. Theyâd call each other their new dreams and that they were meant to be together and could tell in that moment. Well, I didnât understand it until I met you, Hugo. I..wanted to share that moment alone with you before the trials, because..well, you are my new dream. I donât...I could never hate you, Hugo. Even after your betrayal, you still came back and were the one to save me. Weâve both done some terrible, terrible things, but here we are. We bounced back. I know itâs hard to forgive yourself after something like that, but I forgive you. And for the record, I wouldnât want anyone other than you. I love you, Hugo.â
  âI...I love you too, goggles.â he whispered before he laid back down and pulled his boyfriend closer and into a tighter hug than before, peppering kisses along his face, relenting as he slowly drifted back to sleep in a comforting embrace with Varianâs warmth and weight in his arms.
Part 2 - Winning Big
Stakes is unsure of how theyâre going to make it out of this one. The obvious answer is to win obscenely big, but they arenât fooled by the odds. Still, Stakes has to do something if they donât want to pay with their life.
The wealthy man leads Stakes and their new partner into a small, dark room thatâs as well-upholstered as its owner. That makes Stakes feel a little better about their potential prize. As long as itâs legitimate and not a trap, of course. There arenât many tables, and most of them are dice games, which are very easy for a house to rig.
âEither I win, or you can see what I mean about being sabotaged,â Stakes whispers confidently. âHey, whatâs your name anyway? Kinda rude to take someone in without at least introducing yourself.â
âStar,â the ranger says.
Stakes nods. âWell Star, letâs hope you leave here âloneâ.â
âWeâll see about that,â Star says.
Stakes pretends to ignore that and moves between some of the tables, looking at the games going on. Several people as well-dressed as the man who brought them here are making questionable bets while holding even more questionable drinks. This shouldnât be too hard then.
âJust sit tight, watch the magic happen,â Stakes says. Star looks unimpressed.
Stakes gets to work. The dice donât feel loaded, so maybe this will be the one. They start with humble bets, making random shots at the craps table. Itâs mostly a losing game, but thatâs what Stakes wants. Star looks on disapprovingly. Stakes is glad theyâre fooling everyone. They need the richer folks to get overconfident. Then, once everyone feels safe, Stakes can strike.
That strike comes at the poker table, the only one in the house. Two of the six people have folded, Stakes has half a straight and three of a kind. Itâs not the best hand ever, but from the sweat on the bluffing partiesâ brows, Stakes can pull this off. Thereâs quite a sum sitting in the pot, and its getting late enough that a loss is enough to make folks head home. The dealer calls for showdown, and the cards drop two by two. Pair. Nothing. Two Pair.
Stakes drops their three of a kind. The other players glower at them and slides the bets forward. Stakes gathers them all gracefully and excuses themself from the table. They recede to the corner of the room where Star has been brooding.
âAre you counting cards or something?â Star asks.
âNo, just pure luck,â Stakes says. âAnd practice.â
âAlright, well, tell me this is enough to cover your debt so we can get this over with,â Star grumbles.
âI thought youâre not supposed to lie to the law,â Stakes replies.
âIâm not the law, and I know that ainât gonna cover it. But if you hand it over now, I can be more lenient on letting you try again,â Star says.
âLetâs talk this out outside,â Stakes insists.
Star looks skeptical, but follows out the back door anyway.
Itâs a deep blue evening, as if even the pull of ten oâclock canât wipe the last traces of summer sun from the sky. Stakes fiddles their winnings between their hands, reluctant to let it go. They look Star over to see if they can stall.
âNice out tonight,â Stakes says vaguely.
âMhm.â Star is looking up at the sky.
âIs this where your name comes from? All the diamonds they put up at night?â Stakes asks. Looks like they used up all their smooth-talking at the tables.
âYouâre not fooling me,â Star says, âI want the money or Iâm taking you, the money, and your horse back to who hired me and you can sort this out with them.â
âCome on, you see how good I am, I really could make the money back if I had more time. You can follow me the whole ways,â Stakes bargains, âIn fact itâd be nice to have a witness to see whoâs been screwing me over. I know when Iâve lost, but this is more than that.â
âMaybe your luck has just run out,â Star shrugs.
âYou and I both know thereâs a lot more to it than luck.â
No response.
âListen, just think on it. Gimme a little more time to enjoy the open sky, âcause who knows whatâll happen to me when you take me in.â
Star sighs. âAlright, Iâll think about it. You better stay damn trustworthy, if you try to run Iâm taking you in.â
âOf course, partner,â Stakes agrees.
Stakes looks up and appreciate the stars above them. They sure are a lot nicer than the one next to them.
The beginning
Chapter oneÂ
ONE-SHOTS
Just a dance (Zoey x MC)
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
One of their favorite things of all New York experience it's having lunch with Zoey. The girl was funny and interesting and she always had the right conversation to spend time with. Also, she had an incredible taste in music, they both even shared some classes together, working in pair so often that the rest of their classmates just knew they weren't available to them.
So when Beck found out Zoey co-produced the last summer hit, they weren't surprised, what was making some teeny tiny noise in their head wasâŠ
âDid you really co-produced Lightning and you didn't tell me?!â
⊠That.
Beck was impressed, of course. They where proud! That song was one of their personal favorites, so the fact of knowing they were collaborating all this time with such a spectacular talent was an honor.
âTo be fair, you never askedâ She chuckled.
âOh, yeah. Yeah, Zoey: Hey, my name's Beck, had you ever co-produced a summer hit? Because I havenâtâ. Beck ironized. The news were all over The T, and it definitely had to do with a little lunch Zoey managed to have with the same Professor Roberta, making her finally be friends with Beck. âBy the way, thank you very much. You didnât have to do that.â
âBabe, you just bought us a $200 lunch. I think you deserved not to have some teachers bad bloodâ
âMaybe I did it to be on your good sideâ Beck winked towards her, making Zoey laugh.
âSuch a charmer, arenât you?â Zoey opened their room door, finally reaching their home. âCareful, Beck. Youâre going to make me believe I'm your favorite girl.â
âHow says you arenât?â
âHum⊠I donât knowâ She tapped her chin with a perfect polished fingernail, pretending to be thinking about it. âMaybe some little bird called Ina Kingsley.
Ow! Low blow
âAh, gotcha!â Zoey laughed.
âOk, thatâs completely unfair! You know it was one-time thing and we ended whatever that was as soon as we found out we were teacher-studentâ Which was practically the very next day, by the way⊠kinda.
âStill⊠I think you should make it up to me for it.â Oh, that little flirty game between them. Beck was curious about it most of the time. Was it just a joke? Something more? Back at Farmville they never had a friendship relationship like that one, but Zoey was never really clear about the matter neither.
Instead, she always came up with some Ina related topic and it was confusing as fuck. I mean, yeah, they kissed Zoey in front of everyone in that football kiss cam. Beck thought that time that it was very clear they wanted to be more than friends with her. But apparently, she didn't feel the same, so⊠they wonât be pushing her. Beck would never oblige someone to be into⊠well⊠them.
âWhat can I do? Please tellâ They said, playing along with her.
âYou're a smart one. I'm sure youâll find a way to do so.â Damn it, ZoeyâŠ
âI already have a few ideas⊠Scandalous lingerie.â Beck joked some more, a mischievous smile on their lips. âIâm thinking satin sheets, handcuffs, maybe a blindfoldâŠâ
âI like this image. You, sprawled out on the mattress, completely at my mercyâŠâ Zoey moved closer to them, trailing her finger up their arm, making them shiver.
âCome on, Zo. Back down already! At least show me something, do something.â
âI might just take you up on that someday.â She said before walking away, teasing them.
âGwaah!â
Beck hated that. Really, that kind of frustration was no good at all.
âCrap, I'm gonna be late for music theory! This is not good. The prof is a total hardass.â
âTold ya! You shouldâve choose professor Liam as I did. You brought this on yourself.â
âAnd now youâre just an assholeâ She said smiling, hitting Beck right on their arm.
âOuch! RudeâŠâ
âIâll catch up with you tonight, yeah?â
âItâ a dateâ
~~X~~
âAre you sure youâre ok, Poppy?â Veronica asked. She looked preoccupied, and she was⊠But Poppy wasnât the one in her mind. The blogger was worried for Chloe.
She was number one now, dethroning Poppy so suddenly that it was suspicious, especially knowing the blonde dumb head girl. She adores Poppy since they were kids, Chloe would never betray her, never. But of course, Poppy wouldnât see that; no, the strawberry blonde was furious, feeling backstabbed, feeling like revengeâŠ
Of course, you couldnÂŽt blame her. She lived all her life between smoke and mirrors.
âOf course I am!â She replied, knotting her white transparent beach dress, covering up a sexy pink bikini. Poppy took a deep breath and accommodated her cleavage so it shows part of her chest, just a little, seductively inviting, but demure enough no to seem made on purpose. She was an expert on it, and she was about to prove her theory right about now. âIÂŽll take care of that traitor laterâŠâ She checked the hour on her phone. She had invited Farmsville to come there around this time. Test number one: They needed to be punctual, no lover âreal or fake- of hers is an irresponsible with her time. She had better things to do than waiting around for an asshole. âNow come, Hughes must be here by nowâ
 âNo, I think Iâm going to stay right here. Lightâs perfectâ Poppy rolled her eyes at the way Veronica was trying to find the right angle to make her face look impossible good. She always manages to do so, though.
The strawberry blonde crossed the room, walking through the cabin towards the swimming pool room, she could see Beck there, on time, talking with Michael. Poppy smiled to herself.
âTest passed, FarmsvilleâŠâ
â⊠It was built by the Alphas and Zetas as a place to study, party, hook up⊠Now the only people who come here are - -â
âThe people I decide should be here.â She made her entrance.
Test number two: Is Beck into girls? Kissing Zoey didnÂŽt count, Poppy herself had kissed a lot of friends without liking them, she had to prove it herself first hand. So she walked to them with confidence, head up high while moving her hips seductively, attentive to BeckÂŽs every reaction, reading their face, their expressions, the little gulp in their throat, the way their eyes opened wild, checking her out, looking at her boobsâŠ
âDisgusting pervertâ
⊠to her eyes, were Beck fixed their own to stay, always to the face. Beck was trying to be polite, respectful, but the red on their cheeks was exactly the same they had back in the class. They liked what they saw, Poppy knew it. Just to verify, she took a look at the rest of Alphas, who looked away the moment they were discovered. Ugh, gross.
â⊠but⊠you have manners. I like it⊠Second test approved. Well done.â
âWelcome, Farmsville. Letâs discuss our little project, shall we?â An inviting smirk was drawn on Poppyâs lips, willing to test the limits of her new discovery, how much more could she play with Beck today?
âOh, sure. See ya guys at gymâ Beck said, bumping fists and shoulders with the Alphas as if they were good friends. One more of them. For an instant, Poppy found herself wishing they wonât turn Beck into a brainless gorilla. Beck was fine just like already was.
A blonde head caught her eye from behind Beck, saving her of questioning what was that though about because the anger crawled its way up her stomach, keeping her from minding of anything else. âHold on. What is she doing here?â
The fucking nerve!
The audacity!
Every person in the room was watching Chloe, but nobody had the rage Poppy had. Of course she made them block the entry, how dare she?! After a little scene, that bitch finally went away. To think she considered Chloe her very own best friend! Deep inside, she was hurt, she felt used⊠The society was right: never to trust anyone, because their always pretending, always faking no matter what they said. Waiting the right moment to strike. That was a mistake she was never going to repeat. Never. She was about to leave, ready to start the project, but of course, Beck was about to ruin her mood one more time.
âThat was⊠pretty roughâŠâ What did they just say? The strawberry girl observed Beck. There was no rest of respect in them, conversely, Beck looked at Poppy as if she was NarniaÂŽs White Witch, what happened to the little lamb look? âI get it if yaâll are in a fight, but isnât she supposed to be, like, your best friend?â
God, they were an idiot.
âYouÂŽre not here to be my moral compass, Farmsville. Shut the fuck up and walk with me. The rest of you, get out. Nowâ
Once alone, they both walked slowly around the pool, silence⊠She didnât enjoy that. At all. But it was necessary and she couldnÂŽt show any weakness sign to anyone there. Especially not Beck. But⊠She was now sure of one thing: Beck didnât care about looks, but actions, or⊠feelings?
âHave you checked the student ranking today?â She asked, her voice softened. Beck shook their head. They looked at her phone, and after a whileâŠ
âOh boy. Chloe isâŠâ
âDonÂŽt say itâŠâ She was angry, venom caught in her throat, but instead, she let that out like a whisper. A hurt one. She wasnât faking it, but controlling her emotions on her benefit. Wanting more test, Poppy slipped off her heels and went to sit at the edge of the pool. A moment after, she felt Beck doing the same.
âBingoâ
âItâs just as my parents told me⊠You donÂŽt have any real friends, Poppy. Just allies. Hmp! Looks like they were right all this time.â
âPoppy, IâŠâ They said, unsure.
âSuch a shame.â She stopped him, going back to the anger. âI donât know who she thinks she is, or who she had to sleep with to knock me out of my spot, but if she thinks this is over she is so wrong. Itâs utter betrayal is what it is. That girl is dead to me.â Silence. Was that too soon? Did she got it wrong, again?
âPoppy, youÂŽre too hot to worry about thisâ
Yes⊠now they can play.
I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no, no, no
I'm a rocket man
âą Rocket Man - Elton John âą
This was your first time in the hangar since Ms. Stoney had rudely ushered you to your quarters on your first day onboard the Finalizer.
As you entered, you were once again faced with the great speckled wall of never-ending space. The scariness of its infinite expanse reminded you of the first time you ever saw the ocean.
You were ten. You and your family had traveled to a remote part of Lothal for your fatherâs birthday. He had been wanting a change of scenery to spark some new inspiration for his paintings and your mother had surprised him with the impromptu vacation.
You didnât remember much from that trip, but you did recall your older brother, Doran, attempting to teach you how to swim.
âMove your arms like this, and your legs like this,â he said, demonstrating the correct movements.
You crossed your arms defiantly. âI still donât understand why you want me to learn how to swim. We donât live anywhere near the ocean!â
Doranâs eyes lit up. âMaybe someday you will. Maybe someday thereâll be a huge rainstorm and the whole world will flood, and you, thanks to me, will be the only person on Lothal who knows how to swim. Youâll escape, start your own civilization, and be queen of the new world.â
You raised a sceptical eyebrow. âSo youâre saying, if I learn how to swim, Iâll become queen of the world?â
He smirked. âPrecisely.â
You looked to your mother, still not fully believing him. âMa, is that true?â
She shrugged. âCrazier things have happened.â
"Okay, fine. Iâll learn how to swim. But I donât want to be queen.â You look out to the vast ocean, trying to find its end. âIt would be much too lonely to rule the world on my own.â
As if on cue, you were pulled from your memory when the First Orderâs own ruler entered the hangar, accompanied by General Hux and a brigade of stormtroopers.
The Commander and General made their way onto a small private shuttle, while the troopers entered a larger one to their left. You, Akilah, Takoda, Rilea, and Soren followed behind the troopers.
ââââââââââââ
The ride to Dantooine was cramped and bumpy, but much shorter than you imagined it to be.
When the shuttle lowered its ramp for the troopers to exit, the view you were met with left you breathless.
Your eyes were embraced by a kaleidoscope of colors. Green hills framed small valley villages like natureâs very own picture frames. Blue skies provided the perfect backdrop. Pink and purple flowers dotted the rolling ground and ancient trees towered over them, almost protectively.
Takoda laughed, nudging you forward, âWhat, youâve never seen a tree before?â
âNot like this,â you replied, awestruck.
He sighed, looking around, his hands in his pockets. âYeah, I suppose this place is kinda special.â
You laughed. âYou suppose? â
Rilea appeared next to you. âKoda lived here for a while; heâs used to itâs âspecialnessâ by now.â
You turned back to Koda, surprised. âYou lived here? On Dantooine?â
âYep, a long time ago,â he sighed again.
This shocked you. âEven though thereâs so many Resista-â
You are silenced midway through your question as General Hux began to speak to the group.
âAll of you have your missions. This should be a quick, easy job. Myself and Commander Ren will be speaking with the leaders here. Troopers, only engage with citizens if absolutely necessary. If any resist violently, kill them. We will not waste our time on wannabe rebel scum.â He turned in your direction. âYou five, distribute the posters and try not to get yourselves killed.â He pauses. âYou are all dismissed.â
The crowd dispersed as you turned to face your team members.
âWell that was downright inspiring,â Soren quipped sarcastically.
Rilea scoffed, â Youâre one to talk, Mr. Melancholy.â
Soren rolled his eyes.
âSo how does this work?â you asked, changing the subject.
âI think itâs best if we split up,â Rilea said, âWe have a lot of ground to cover.â
âSounds good!â Koda replied. âMeet back here in an hour?â
We all nod.
Akilah speaks up. âJust remember: keep your head down. Try to put up the posters when there arenât too many people nearby. If you get into any trouble, run back here. Got it?â
We all nod again.
âGood. Iâll see you all in an hour,â she said before walking away.
You start in the opposite direction, towards a thick tree-line at the edge of the meadow that the shuttles landed in.
After walking for about twenty minutes, you came across some small buildings â a mix of houses, tiny shops, and public amenities.
You took out your stack of posters, pulled one off of the top, and taped it to the building closest to you.
Success.
You found another building with a white wall, pulled out a second poster, and had just started to put it up when you were approached by three men.
âWhat do you think youâre doing, First Order scum ?â
Why is it always me?
âSorry, I didnât mean to bother you.â You took a step back, smiling. âJust putting up some posters.â
The man nearest to you, who was sporting a floppy brown haircut, spoke next. âPosters⊠is that what you call âem?â he laughed. â We usually refer to them as First Order trash!â
He walked towards you, stumbling a little, and snatched the poster out of your hand before crumpling it into a ball.
The man smelled like alcohol and looking around, you noticed that the building you decided to tape your poster to was a cantina.
Great.
The man threw the crumpled-up poster in your direction and you stumbled backwards, dropping the rest of the posters on the dirt below.
âWhat a shame,â one of the other men said sarcastically. He wore a dark blue shirt that was ripped on one sleeve.
You attempt to stay calm. âLook, I donât want any trouble â Iâm just doing my job.â
âHa!â the floppy-haired man scoffs, looking at his two comrades. âWeâve heard that one before, havenât we boys?â
âYeah!â the man with the ripped shirt shouted emphatically, âWere you âjust doing your jobâ when you murdered my brothers and sisters? When you destroyed our houses? When you stole our land and resources?â
You were lost for words. âI- Iâm sorry. I truly am.â
âYou really think Iâm some bantha-brained idiot?â he replied, infuriated. âIf you were âtruly sorryâ you wouldnât be putting up those posters.â
âI know, itâs just-â
The floppy-haired man spoke up again, a sinister smile on his lips. âYou know what boys, I think we should give the Order a taste of their own medicine.â
You didnât like where this was going. âPlease, let me just-â
Before you could get another word out, the man had grabbed your arm roughly.
You tried to squirm out of his grasp, but he was too strong. You could try using your newfound powers, but you remembered what Commander Ren had told you: donât reveal your Force abilities while on the mission.
Thinking quickly, you were able to bring your knee up to hit him where it hurt, and he stumbled back momentarily, cursing.
The other two men surged forward, slamming you into the wall behind you. Your head made contact with the hard surface and you saw stars.
Feeling dizzy and disoriented, your body slid to the ground, as the men began to search your pockets.
âWhat- what do you want?â you managed to choke out, still dazed from the impact on your head.
The man you had hit, having recovered from your blow, made his way back over to you.
âShut up, you sithspit.â
His words spurred a surge of energy within you, and you did your best to grab and scratch at the hands that were searching your pockets, only to have the floppy-haired man backhand you, hard .
Your cheek stung, and so did your emotions. You felt angry. Hurt. Constricted. Frustrated. Trapped.
A familiar sixth sense began to build within you, begging to be released from your body.
No, no, no, you thought. Remember what the Commander said. Remember what he said. Donât disappoint him. Not again.
You felt the sense within you retreat and you breathed a sigh of relief. Your head was pulsing to the painful rhythm of your panicked heart. You could feel blood seep from the spot on your cheek where the man had hit you.
The guy with the blue shirt, having found the credits you had brought along with you in case of emergency, shouted in victory.
âWeâll be having a big feast tonight, fellas!â he shouted, holding out your coins for them to see.
"Wait-â you started, knowing that without those credits, youâd be pretty much broke.
âWhat did I say, girl â shut your mouth!â
You felt a heavy boot make contact with your already nauseous stomach.
Your eyes glazed over, silent tears falling, as you curled into the smallest ball you could manage. It was what you did as a child whenever you heard the X-Wings and TIE fighters exchanging fire above your house.
Your ears suddenly picked up the sound of another pair of heavy footsteps approach from a nearby alley.
Through bleary eyes, you watched as each of your attackers were lifted off the ground and thrown into the wall opposite to you with sickening crunches.
You shuffled back as fast as you could, given your current state, not wanting to incur the wrath of whatever it was that approached you.
Your back hit a hard wall and you could do nothing more than shut your eyes and shield your head with your arms, preparing for the imminent attack.
âStop.â
A voice sounded from in front of you.
A familiar voice.
âCommander,â you whispered, hoarsely.
He knelt down, his mask scanning your slumped body.
âYou need medical attention,â he said, in his typical âstating a question as an orderâ tone.
âYes, I think you may be right,â you responded, letting out a pained chuckle.
He continued to stare at you, intently, through his visor. You began to feel a prickling at the back of your head, much like the time in Huxâs office. Except now, it was gentler â comforting. And this time, you embraced it, letting it in completely.
After a moment, the prickling stopped.
The Commander looked down for a moment, as if uncomfortable with what he was going to say next.
âYou- you didnât defend yourself,â he said in a tone you had never heard from him before. He sounded confused, conflicted.
âI tried,â you said, rubbing your hands, which were still sore from clawing at your attackerâs limbs.
âI meant with the Force,â he continued. âYou felt prompted to do so with Hux, and yet with this more... threatening encounter, you refused.â
You gazed up at him, surprised that he didnât already know the answer to his own question.
âYou told me not to,â you said simply, looking at him, the corner of your mouth twitching upwards.
âAnd you would rather risk death than defy my orders?â
Finally, you thought. A genuine question.
âI trusted that the reasons behind your orders were important,â you replied, confident in your explanation.
He seemed taken aback by that. Maybe he wasnât used to people following his orders because they âtrustedâ him. Instead, he was probably used to them following his orders out of fear .
You started to stand, but your stomach reeled at the attempted movement. You sucked in a sharp breath of air through clenched teeth and put a hand on the wall behind you for stability.
Your head was spinning â you had hit it harder than you thought. Lights danced before your eyes, making it hard to see.
The Commanderâs cloaked shape rose next to you, and as your eyes followed his movement, you realized you had almost forgotten how tall he was.
He reached a gloved hand towards you, slowing slightly when he got close, almost as if he was expecting you to flinch.
You didnât.
He took that as a sign to continue his maneuver. Placing one arm below your shoulders and the other at the backs of your knees, he wordlessly lifted you off of the ground and into his arms.
You were on the brink of consciousness, but managed to whisper a final âthank youâ before drifting into an unrestful sleep.
âââââââââââ
When you woke, you werenât in your bed like before. You looked down, only to realize you were still in the arms of your Commander.
Slightly embarrassed at your vulnerable state, you closed your eyes and pretended to be asleep, as to avoid any potential awkwardness.
âI know youâre awake.â
Kriff.
You opened a hesitant eye and looked up at the source of the deep, rumbling voice, but his mask was pointed straight ahead, on the trees in front of him.
âWhere are we?â you asked, your voice coming out hoarser than you wished it to.
Still looking forward, he responded. âWeâre almost back to the shuttle.â
âOh,â you replied.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you; no noise was present other than the breeze blowing the leaves of nearby trees and the sound of the Commanderâs boots crunching twigs and branches at a steady pace beneath you.
His walking slowed as you neared the edge of the tree line. You looked past it to see the larger meadow where the First Order shuttles were situated.
The Commander came to a complete stop and looked down at you quickly, before bringing his eyes back to the clearing ahead.
There was that strange emotion again: confliction.
He probably doesnât want to be seen carrying me, you thought. Too much visible empathy isnât good for his menacing reputationâŠ
You decided to speak up first â making the decision for him. âYou can let me down now, Iâm fine.â
He shifted his glance downwards as you moved in his grip. However, instead of letting you go, as per your instructions, he maintained his tight hold.
You wished you could read his mind like he had read yours back on the Finalizer.
What was he thinking?
Why does he seem so conflicted all of a sudden?
Why is he helping you, again?
Suddenly, as if in response to your questions, waves of intense feeling washed over you.
Anger. Frustration. Confliction. Curiosity. Reluctance.
It took you a second to realize that these werenât your feelings, they were his.
Shocked by your sudden intrusion into his mind, he looked at you, tilting his head slightly to the side, before guiding you to stand on your feet. The Commander remained silent as you leaned on a nearby tree for support.
He glanced between you and the shuttles, shifting uncomfortably on his feet.
âGo,â you waved him in the direction of the meadow.
He didnât move.
âGo,â you spoke again, softly, attempting a smile. âI understand.â
Seemingly content with your reply, he nodded his head slightly, and headed into the meadow, cape blowing in the breeze behind him.
Breathing a sigh of relief, you waited for five minutes, giving the Commander enough time to get to the shuttles before you followed.
The pain in your head, cheek, and abdomen increased, so you began to stumble into the meadow, hoping to make it to the shuttles before you passed out again.
Luckily, a familiar voice called your name.
âGuys, come on â I found her!â Akilahâs words sounded across the meadow.
Your exhaustion got the best of you, and you crumpled into the soft grass beneath you.
âSor, come help me!â
You looked up to see Akilahâs worried face, followed by Sorenâs confused one.
Koda and Rilea followed close behind, but Akilah soon directed them back towards the shuttle to warn the medical crew of your arrival.
She directed her attention back at you, smiling. âHere, hold on, weâll get you back in no time. Sor, grab her other arm.â
You felt your body lift off the ground, Akilah holding up your left side and Soren holding up your right.
âWait,â you spoke, barely a whisper. âI- I dropped the posters.â
Soren looked at Akilah. âIs she serious right now?â
âUmm⊠Iâm really not sure,â she replied, frowning. âCould be a head injury.â
âWe better get her back,â Soren replied, as the two of them helped you back to the shuttle.
They laid you on a makeshift bed and the on-board medic began attending to your injuries.
You used the last of your strength to lift your head slightly to search for Commander Ren, but he was nowhere to be found.
Dropping your head back onto the pillow, you closed your eyes, finally embracing the comforting darkness of sleep.
âOkay so⊠I need to tell you something.â Your feet are tapping an impatient melody on the carpeted floor. Though he definitely canât hear anything as the carpet muffles the noises that would probably would make him more nervous. Completely and utterly different from the Jungkook outside whoâd been boasting about his âpussy destroyerâ status.
âSpit it out Jungkook. Iâm literally not down for any more of your shitty pranks. I just need a good fuck and as the resident campus slut-â
âum, rude.â You continue anyway.
â-you are my safest bet. So, spill.â He seems even more nervous now for some reason. Sitting on the bed, legs splayed and arms resting back on the plush sheets. And they looked clean too. You didnât think that was possible for a frat boy.
âUhâŠ. O-okay.â Your eyebrows are raised again as he looks around, seeming to be mulling his response in his head. Okay this was ridiculous, you were on a time crunch and your downstairs was getting drier by then second. Sighing, you just climb back on the bed, straddling his deliciously muscly thighs and mouth attaching back to his neck that you wanted to cover in hickeys. But you werenât together and you didnât want to put marks where they didnât belong. Even if you really, really wanted to.
But of course he had to fucking ruin it.
âWait wait!â The groan is unstoppable and this wasnât the context youâd thought youâd be making these noises in.
âI swear to god Jungkook. Canât this wait?â There is visible sweat brewing up on his temples and his lips are flushed from your earlier kisses.
âOkay here it goes,â Heâs taking a deep breath in, closing his eyes once for a quick second before meeting yours, âIâve only slept with one girl before.â
You stare at him. A solid minute passes and you havenât moved an inch until your limbs are waking up again and a giggle is bubbling in your throat as you lean in again.
âVery funny. Now shut up before I kill you and then die of deprivation.â
âY/n. I-Iâm not kidding.â Pulling back, you can now see that all this fidgeting and twiddling with his thumbs really wasnât an act.
What the hell.
Instantly, youâve sprung back from his lap and your hands are gone in for the kill at your scalp. Frustration lacing every movement. This was just supposed to be you simply getting laid. Of course this would happen to you.
âWhat the fuck Jungkook?! Donât say shit like that when Iâm literally about to rip my clothes off.â Unless⊠âWait. Is this just so you donât have to sleep with me?â
Your voice is incredulous and accusing. Sure, you werenât his hottest conquest or were really considered his type really. But Jeon Jungkook prided himself on never saying no to girls. He loved every female attention and happily hooked up with a variety even if he didnât actually hang out with them. Thatâs why it had been so easy to pick him up at the party tonight. Youâd had a nightmare of a date and your ego and pride had been bruised enough for one night for him to do you dirty like this too. Youâre not sure if youâll be okay if you got rejected twice in a night. Turns out Jaemin really didnât like you like that. He just wanted to get laid. Much like what you wanted right now actually. But at least you were honest about it. He lead you on and you wanted to scratch his pretty face! You wore your best lingerie for tonight and that bastard flaked on you after five minutes when his regular booty call showed up.
Stupid pretty boys. At least Jungkook was an honest fuck boy. Or so you had thought. You really couldnât handle being rejected by the all pleasing fuck boy. And your junior at that.
âNo!â His eyes are widely blown and you almost believe him. Heâs reaching forward to grab at your retrieving form but youâre having none of it. âNot at all. Y/n. please sit down.â
âNo way. Iâve had enough of you assholes playing games with me.â
âWhat? Who are you talking about?â His eyebrows are furrowed in confusion but you donât really care enough to tell him about your night for now.
âDonât worry about it. But whatever Iâm going.â Youâve only just turned around when Jungkook is pulling you back roughly so youâre falling back on his lap.
âDonât go okay? Itâs not because I donât want to sleep with you. Donât be dumb.â His once over at your tight little black dress doesnât faze you. Okay maybe a little. Who wouldnât feel flustered at Jeon Jungkook checking them out?
Sighing, you give him the benefit of the doubt, âThen what? Because I refuse to believe that youâve only had sex once. Not when youâre literally bragging about screwing someoneâs brains out every fucking party.â
âI do have a reputation to keep up you know?â Heâs scoffing at you like youâre the one whoâs being a little nuts at the moment.
âA reputation that you falsely cultivated, you smelly sock!â Yeah you were a little drunk too.
âSeriously? A smelly sock?â His smile is kinda cute, you think to yourself. âBut yeah. I guess I really underestimated the âone lie leads to a thousandâ saying.â
Sighing, he just turns you back around in his lap and you canât help it when you gaze slips further down south for a few seconds but Jungkookâs tsking noises have you looking back up, cheeks heavily flushed.
âYouâre really horny arenât you?â His chuckle is so carefree youâd be thinking itâs you who just confessed to being inexperienced in bed.
âShut up kid. Thanks to you I might stay this way with no relief!â the pout is inevitable and unarguably a little childish but you could definitely hide away from all the judgement under the guise of being intoxicated.
âY-You donât⊠have to?â He sounds unsure and a little questioning. When you donât say anything, he continues.
âI know I said I havenât actually had sex more than that one time but Iâd love to have sex with you.â He says it all so casually like he didnât almost shit his pants confessing that very bit to you.
âGee, thanks.â You pinch his slightly cherub face to which he yelps dramatically. âIf anything, you owe me that mind blowing orgasm you brat.â
âWell then,â his smug little face is turning up in a smirk as he leans back again, spreading his body as it relaxes in the sheets before his face is tilting upwards, eyes taking a whole swipe at the way your dress has ridden up on your thighs. âGet to work babe.â
The nerve of this boy.
Youâre about ready to give him a piece of your mind but instead, you go for something much more impactful. The way his eyes almost bulge out of his head is sweet, sweet revenge when you squeeze his length on top of his snug jeans. The shock is thankfully under control when youâd initially felt how hot and heavy his erection sat under the denim.
âYou really need to learn when youâre out skilled âbabe.ââ The words are whispered close to his ear as you press a hot kiss beneath the lobe. He was a picture to be put up on the walls as he tried to keep his breathing even, eyes cast directly down to where your hand had now slipped inside his jeans. The rattling of the belt buckle with every movement from your hand was incredibly arousing. Not that you needed to be anymore horny at this stage.
âWow, um okay⊠I shouldâve -oh fuck â let you hit on me before.â His erection sits thick and hot in your hand as you scoff at him. Yeah, like you would.
âPlease. I wouldnât be here if it wasnât for Jaemin flaking on me.â The last sentence is muttered under your breath but somehow his ears perked up enough to comprehend the name. Even when heâs receiving a hand job he does not shut up, does he?
âJ-Jaemin? Really? Youâre way out of his l-league. Oh god, y/n.â His moan hits you somewhere deep. Deeper than just your core with the way heâs saying your name and you canât stop yourself when from slipping down to your knees- as if in a trance when you continue to glide your slippery hand over his girthy length.
âSay that again when my hand isnât on your dick.â He doesnât have a chance to open his smart mouth again because yours is on him. His hot skin on your tongue has an involuntary moan bubbling in your throat and reverberating against his hardened cock. The salty, tangy taste of him is addicting and youâre sliding your mouth down him and his reactions are only spurring you on further.
âGod, youâre so hot. Look so h-hot with my cock in y-your mouth. Fuck, yes.â Heâs growling, moaning and groaning as he watches you lap at his cock again and again. Saliva is starting to pool around your mouth and dripping down your chin as you suck the tip of him relentlessly. His dirty mouth is making you want to slip your hand inside your own underwear and get some relief.
You moan when his hand slips in to your hair at the nape of your neck, guiding your head around him as he gets close. Â His mouth seems to have lost its filter and so have his hips as they buck in to your mouth.
âIâm so close. S-So close, baby. Take my cock,â his growl only makes you moan louder around him, sucking him off with more vigour.
Lucky for him, you know exactly how to push him over the edge. Taking one of your hands that had been working on the base of his dick, slickened by a mixture of your saliva and his precum, you tug on his tightened balls and instantly â heâs bucking his hips in to your face screaming out his release.
Warmth fills your mouth as you drink down his cum. His hands guiding your head every which way to milk out every second of his release. Jungkook is panting heavily and his whole body is covered with sweat as he watches your mouth overflow with his cum. Still, you donât stop gently lapping at him, swallowing every drop and he seems almost about ready to cry.
âY/n,â heâs panting even more now, âstop or Iâll cum again. Fuck youâre so hot that was amazing.â
Pulling you up back on to his lap, he doesnât wait for you to wipe your mouth before placing his own, on top in a sloppy kiss. Heâs licking around your mouth and you canât help but moan at the feel of him. In a haste, heâs pulling off his shirt and your eyes almost pop out of your head despite knowing to some degree about what you would see. You knew he was pretty built from the various photos posted on the university social media since you never went to the games. The muscles that bulged out from his football jersey were quite good looking in itself but seeing them up close â you could maybe understand why the girls went crazy for him despite his lack of sexual experience.
While you were busy drooling, Jungkook has already caught you eyeing him shamelessly with the way he was smirking and biting his lip. âJust going to look or do-â
âShut the hell up.â Your scoff only makes him giggle like a teenage boy making a âthatâs what she saidâ joke.
âYou want to kiss me. You want to hug me.â Is he serious?
You pull back slightly from his mouth thatâs singing out the ridiculous song from Miss Congeniality.
âAre you seriously quoting Sandra bullock right now?â He scoffs right back at you while pulling up your short little dress as his glassy eyes continue to eat you up.
âOf course. Sheâs awesome and donât change the subject. FuckâŠâ Thank god heâs stopped with the movie talk â although you agree wholeheartedly about Sandra â and the way heâs looking down at your snug silk black lingerie, hugging every curve and accentuating the right parts â the confidence boost is much appreciated.
âOkay so, how much do I need to guide you through?â Your eyebrows are furrowing when his expression stays vacant like he has nothing to say, worrying you profoundly. Did he know anything? Oh god. You were not ready for this arrangement. âDo you know⊠where the clit is?â
Jungkook is finally moving his facial muscles but only to roll his eyes at you and scoff before heâs flipping you over so you were the one underneath him. âIâm inexperienced y/n, not an idiot.â
âDebatable.â The murmur doesnât go unnoticed when heâs sliding downwards like heâs about to sit at your feet or something.
âWhat was that?â
âI said thatâs deba- Oh shit!â Oh shit indeed. Any braincells you had left to comprehend speech were now focused on making you feel every lash of Jungkookâs surprisingly skilful tongue that was lashing at your sodden black panties â outlining every fold through them with the hot, wet pad of his tongue. Doesnât help when heâs chuckling while his face is buried in your pussy making your skin absorb all the vibrations from his dirty mouth.
His hands pull one of your thighs over his shoulder so he could tilt his head further to reach every nook and cranny that will bring tears to your eyes. He licks up a stripe to your aching clit with the flat of his tongue before gently sucking it in his mouth. Then he speaks.
âDid I find it or I need to try again?â The vibrations from his mouth â and his hot breath â go straight to the bundle of nerves in his mouth as embarrassingly loud moans leave yours.
âSh-Shut up and focus. You owe m-me an orgasm.â The words transition into a whine the longer you talk. Itâs impossible to talk at all, really. The material of your panties is stuck to you obscenely and you want to cry with relief when he finally pulls them to the side.
âJ-Just take them off Jungkook. Hurry up.â The brat just chuckles like heâs watching a sitcom.
âSeems like youâre the virgin here.â
âSo you admit you havenât had sex at all?â
âWhat? No! thatâs not what I meant.â Heâs pouting therefore his mouth has stopped and you can finally take a breather and not embarrass yourself.
âMhmm. Sure little guy.â Your chuckle has most likely provoked him but instead of being happy that heâs definitely enthusiastic about eating you out â youâre a little scared that he might even just kill you with his mouth with the way his eyes stared back at you.
Heâs lowering his mouth once again until his lips gently hug your nether ones. Heâs so calm about his movements that you have to hold your breath to not give away how much itâs shaking. He shakes his head slowly as if to snuggly fit his lips in a seal around your entrance. And then â his tongue is spearing in and out of your pussy as deep as the stiffened muscle can get.
Your head is falling back with the shock of how pleasurable the sensation of his tongue inside your pussy is since youâve never had someone so thoroughly taste you like this before. Most guys only ever just focused on your clit while Jungkook was moaning around your pussy like he was having the most desired delicacy in the world. His pace is increasing gradually while your noises are not. You are not far from screaming your head off when a particular thrust of his devilish tongue reaches deep enough for your eyes to roll back in your head.
âJ-Jungkook, oh-â you hiccup, âgod.â
âMm. Your pussy tastes so good. I could eat you all night.â Heâs taking a breath each time he talk â slick covering his lips and chin as he takes small sucks of your clit keeping you constantly stimulated but never enough to make you cum â yet.
âYou like my tongue babe? Hm? Youâre so warm and soft and tight itâs hard for me to fuck your pussy open.â Heâs growling out his words like earlier and you think you might just cum from his words.
âBut thatâs what my fingers are for, hm? To fuck you nice and open for my cock. Thatâs it.â Heâs cooing like youâre the one who needs coaching through their first orgasm. But it might as well be true because the way you feel right now is unlike any other time youâve cum. Your insides are wound tighter than ever and you physically feel like youâre going to start sobbing any second from the intensity of your climax.
A sob finally breaks free when Jungkook shoves his middle finger in you as his mouth moves up to your clit. He doesnât bother setting a gradual pace like he had with his tongue â instead he shoves another one inside. âFuck. Youâre so tight. Iâm not even sure Iâm going to fit inside babe.â
If you could form any form of speech in any language right now you would tell him off for giving himself too much credit. He canât be that big.
âIâm s-so c-close. Jungkook p-please.â Your hands are balled in to fists in his sheets while your legs twitch with the force itâs taking for you to not close them. Also helps that Jungkook is holding your thighs open from smashing closed on his skull and possibly cracking it. You might consider doing that later after youâve came.
Speaking of â you do exactly that when Jungkookâs lips form a seal around your clit once again and suck in tandem with his fingers that scissor in and out of your pulsing cunt. Wet sounds have filled the room for quite some time but you canât hear anything but a white noise as an almost violent wave of your orgasm rushes through you. You donât remember how long it goes on for but it feels like forever. And when you finally come to again you have to push your hands against his head to make him stop licking at you since your legs have probably expired now.
âKnew you were a screamer.â
âWhat?â Youâre still panting â pathetic. Jungkook is wearing a shit eating grin as he lets your underwear snap back in place making you cringe from the friction of the fabric overstimulating you.
âAnd a gusher. Holy shit.â All the blood has rushed to your cheeks â you can feel it from how hot your face feels right now and you know itâs not from just having come harder than you ever have.
âShut up oh my god.â
The Affair That Never Happened
Description: It was here third and final and final year at Seishun High School. A year that was coveted by most and looked back on with cherished memories. For this particular student though, she found herself in a peculiar situation that set a catalyst for things to come.
Rating: PG-13
Series: The Affair That Never Happened
Chapter 3: To Pen and Paper and Out the Door
Couples: Eventual reader x Shinichi, unrequited reader x Chiharu
Authorâs note: In Japan, some love hotels have age restrictions while others do not. In Tokyo, the legal age is 20, which is why the MC is worried about entering a love hotel. Another thing, most love hotels donât have your normal front desk workers and instead have a touch screen TV in the front lobby to pick which room youâd like. Most staff working in the love hotel are never seen, which is why none were included in seeing her enter the place.
Chapters: 1, 2
  Fuck. Literally what the fuck. She would be finding the entire situation hysterical if it werenât for the fact that she was almost about to piss herself from fright. What was she supposed to do? Thank God he looked too concerned with keeping himself from vomiting again to take notice of her.
  âSorry,â Was all he managed to say and held out his hand to her.
  What did he want? Was he having trouble standing and needed help? Moving to the side of him, she grasped his other arm and threw it over her shoulders so he could properly lean against the side that wasnât covered in vomit. Wait⊠This could become an even more troublesome predicament. She couldnât take him back to the dorms. He was drunk as a skunk and she doubted she could handle a fifteen-minute walk back with a grown man basically leaning atop her. Also, it seemed that he hadnât noticed her, so if she thrust him into a cheap hotel room for him to sleep everything off, sheâd be able to leave quickly and return back to the dorms without trouble.
  âJust hang on okay, Iâll find you a hotel for you to stay at tonight.â She told him gently and started to walk forward.
  He released a noise and made a heavy thrust of his head. What an interesting way to nod, but to each their own. The two of them walked at what felt like a snailâs pace and {Name} found herself more and more agitated as the minutes passed. Where was a damn hotel that wouldnât suck the life out of her wallet?
  âIâm sorry for taking so long,â she apologized and made sure to keep her face out of view of his gaze as she looked about them. âIt seems that Iâm having trouble finding you a cheap hotel.â
  Without a word, he tightened his grip on her shoulders and guided them down the streets of Tokyo. Despite not being aware of where she was being taken she let herself be guided to a row of hotels. Love hotels. Oh wow. She looked up at him and was fairly amused by the triumphant smirk on his face.
  âFound some.â He slurred, and she couldnât hold back her laughter.
  âI can see that.â She hummed and looked at the prices listed outside.
  Indeed, love hotels were cheap. What worried her was that she was underage. What would she do if they asked her for her ID? Well, maybe not? A high-school student wouldnât be out so late with a drunk man. With forced bravado, she guided the two through the entrance of what she thought to be the cheapest hotel amongst them. And when she went to the front desk, she found herself curious about the âthemedâ rooms mentioned. Imagining the ever so serious Kagari-sensei waking up in a ludicrous room was far too tempting to pass up.
  âWhat kind of themed rooms do you have?â She found herself asking with a kittenish smirk.
  She clicked the themed rooms button at the top of the touch screen panel and found herself abuzz with excitement. Which one should she pick? The Princess Room? Carnival Room? Medieval Room? A heavy S&M inspired room?
  âWhich room would make you squirm the most?â She asked him with a cock of her head.
  He didnât say anything, and she didnât expect him to, but when he pressed a button on the Carnival Room, she stared at him with widened eyes.
  âI canât believe youâre afraid of Carnivals.â She whispered in slight disbelief.
  âNot scared,â he shrugged, or at least tried to but it honestly just looked like he had gotten a cold chill. âItâs just girls like Carnivals, right?â
  Thatâs when he was staring down at her and she was so stupefied by his answer she forgot to look away. The key-card popping out for them to retrieve was what broke her attention.
  âWell, whatever, letâs hurry up.â She grumbled, a little saddened that she couldnât choose the S&M room for him.
  The two made their way to the elevator and once on their respected floor, the black tile lit up, pointing them in the direction they needed to go. That was pretty neat.
  âLove hotels are kinda cool, huh?â She commented as they walked to the door of their room. She rummaged through her purse for her wallet, but the large man that might as well have been a large child moved to go through his own pockets.
  âCalm down, Iâm paying for it.â She said and tried to swipe her card, but he shoved her hand away with his own so he could swipe his.
  âA gentleman should pay.â He said.
  What a weirdo. It wasnât as if she was going to stay the night with him, so he didnât have to act like he was paying for both of them. It made sense for him to pay for it, she knew this because he would be the one staying the night after all. But her stubbornness roared its ugly head and she was more determined than ever to pay for his stay. She shoved his hand away and went to swipe her card, but he, in retaliation to her retaliation, took her wrist in his free hand and moved it sluggishly away so he could successfully swipe his own card.
  Again, that stupid smug smirk was plastered on his face once more. She rolled her eyes and patted him between his shoulder blades.
  âGood job, you true gentleman you.â She commented dryly as she swiped the key card in the door to open it.
  What greeted her was cotton candy-colored walls with large surgery sweets painted on them. The floor was a sparkly pink with blotches of see-through glass randomly placed atop it. Upon further inspection, she could make out glass confections in the shape of balloons and wrapped candies that were surrounded by a gentle layer of soft stretched cotton that gave the falsehood of it being cotton candy. The bed was king-sized, with the four posters striking upward all the way until it touched the ceiling. It twisted and turned like a unicorn's horn and was painted rainbow with a sparkle finish. Carved into the backdrop of the bed was a carousel with nude women and men having sex atop the different animals. There was a couch to the right of the bed that was an ungodly bright shade of yellow with hot pink trimmings. The ceiling was covered with sheets that gave the impression that they were inside of an outdoor circus tent.
 âToilet,â he managed to mutter out before wrenching himself from her to clumsily make it to the bathroom in time.
  She watched him with pity and slight curiosity. What made him go out drinking so heavily in the first place? Was it the sorrows of love? Was he in debt? Did he realize heâd never get a woman with his rude attitude? Well, that last one could be a part of the sorrows of love but it was an extra jab she couldnât help giving him. With one final once over of the impressive room she walked into the bathroom. She crouched down beside him and ran a soothing hand up and down his back.
  âYou sure did drink a lot, huh?â She smiled at him, not bothering to hide her amusement. âDid you get dumped?â
  âNo,â he managed to say after he heaved a few junks in the toilet. âJust met up with an old school buddy that wouldnât let me leave until he had me drink my fill.â
  âYouâre an adult, right? You had the choice to say no, so donât blame it on your friend. Youâre not young enough to experience pure pressure anymore.â She laughed and restrained herself from playfully smacking him on the back.
  âWhat an astute answer.â He couldnât say much more because he was throwing up before he could.
  âNot astute, just true.â She hummed and went to gently comb her fingers through his hair. When her father was dealing with a hangover, he liked her mother doing it, so she unconsciously assumed it would help him.
  She should remove her fingers, she knew this, but his hair was so soft. She had never felt such feather-like hair. To be fair she wasnât going around delving her fingers into the hair of strangers, but it was an honest comment none the less. Once it looked like he was finished, she went ahead and used her already dirtied cardigan to wipe away the leftover vomit that coated his lips.
  âFeels nice.â He smiled at her, and oh boy if he smiled like that more often he would definitely have more suitors.
  âGlad to hear it, I guess.â
  She helped him to his feet and dragged him over to the plush comforter and what seemed to be a thousand pillows that decorated the bed. She watched him sit up and laughed as he put on a dramatic show of trying to remove his suit jacket. Not wanting to waste any more time there than she already did, she hurried to help him remove his jacket. Once out, he reached out and with a contradictory of unsteady but firm hands he tried to undo the buttons of her cardigan, to what she guessed was in order to remove it from her person. She very much liked it on her person though, so she gently pinched the foreskin of his hand.
  âQuit it,â she said but he looked up at her with a stern expression.
  âWe have to get you out of your dirty clothes.â He told her, his tone matching that of someone who was telling another that they were about to go into battle.
  âYou should take a bath as well,â he started just as she opened her mouth to protest. âYou got some in your hair.â
  âI what?â She almost snapped but was thankful that her voice came out more confused than shrill.
  âHere.â He said and gently cupped a few strands of her hair underneath his fingers.
  âWell, thatâs just disgusting.â She grumbled on the verge of hurling herself.
  âBut it wasnât when I threw up on your cardigan or when you cleaned my lips for me?â He asked, sounding rather amused despite being the source of her problem.
  âThat was on my clothes, but my hair is part of my body, so itâs grosser that way.â
  âIs it?â
  âYes! Yes, it is!â
  Why was he the one sounding amused now? With a huff, she walked over to the bathroom door before turning a sharp glare at him.
  âIf you peek Iâll do some not very nice things to your baby maker.â She warned him before she shut the bathroom door.
  She gently peeled her cardigan off her and made sure that no aspect of vomit touched her skin. Time passed and though she only meant to wash her hair, she had been too tempted by the jetted tub. She had never been in one before, so it was purely for curiosity reasons. It was definitely not because she felt weird leaving the bath after a shower in front of her teacher. Because that would just be silly. And she was a mature woman that didnât get embarrassed by such things.
  She had been soaking in the jetted tub for about ten minutes when the door was thrusted open, with Kagari-sensei running in. He did not run to the toilet and instead went over to where she was.
  âWhat the hell are you doing?â She growled and sunk her shoulders deep into the water.
  Thankfully the bubbles from the jets prevented the intruder of seeing her nude form.
  âThereâs a camera in here. I pressed a button on the remote and the bathroom popped up on the screen.â He explained, but that was it.
  âOne: When did you do this and how much of my body have you seen? Two: Why did you feel the need to enter the bathroom while I bathed? It would have been easier to just pretend like it never happened.â She sighed and quirked a brow at him.
  She wasnât embarrassed, not at all. Because she was a mature woman and mature women didnât grow nervous over such things such as the bizarre situation she found herself in. Screw it. This was so embarrassing. She wanted to die. Thankfully the room was also quite dim, so she doubted he could make out her face, let alone her body. But still, death would be appreciated at that point in time. Or the power to teleport. Or the power to erase memories. Both would be amazing to be quite honest.
  âBut that would be lying.â He stated firmly. âAnd I donât lie.â
  âEveryone lies.â She found herself arguing.
  Was now the time to be arguing? No, no it was not. But here she was, naked as the day she was born arguing with her teacher.
  âNot me. Lying is wrong.â
  âItâs also wrong to come barging into a bathroom where a lady is busy trying to clean herself. Especially after it was the said male that came barging in that caused it. You might as well be the one bathing me.â She replied soddenly.
  That was when he knelt beside the bathtub, readying himself to bath her. She looked to the wall opposite of him, clearly mortified. But with him so close she couldnât take the chance of him seeing her face. But he saw her face before this right? Maybe he was too drunk to notice? He had not made the comment of knowing who she was. That wasnât the point though. The point was that she was being sarcastic.
  âI wasnât being serious. You can leave.â For the love of God leave.
  âOh, alright.â
  She listened to him walk to the door and waited a minute or two after he left to sink her entire head into the warm water. What a nightmare the night turned out to be. When she left the bath she hurriedly dried her body and only dried the bare minimum of her hair, because if she did all of it, it would take way longer than she would have liked. She just wanted to leave. When she dressed herself she didnât bother putting her cardigan on and instead opted to just hold it.
  Once out of the bathroom, she found Kagari-senseiâs shoes, pants, and shirt strewn about the floor. He was neatly tucked underneath the sheets like a child. All peaceful and blissful in his drunken state. Screw him for that.
  âAlright,â she started and made sure to reframe from saying his name. âIâll be leaving now, do you think youâll be okay?â
  âYou can stay too, itâs late after all.â
  âCanât do that.â
  If he found out who she was he would get her expelled from school before resigning himself in shame. He was far too serious for his own good. At least he seemed to let loose at some points in his life, which was interesting. It was then that she considered that perhaps her schoolâs teacherâs actually had their own lives outside of being prude-y and stuck-up.
  âAt least leave your cardigan.â He urged and before she could reply he gripped the front of her shirt.
  âFine,â she let out a troubled sigh. âIâll leave it with my phone number so text me when youâre finished washing it or whatever.â
  âOr whatever? What else would I be doing with it?â He asked, amused once more.
  âJust go to sleep.â She snapped and gently smacked her palm against his forehead. âSet your phone alarms so you donât oversleep. Bye.â
  She laid her cardigan out on the armchair of the couch before she quickly wrote down her number on a napkin from the bedroomâs wet-bar. She put the napkin on the bright pink coffee table and made sure it was in plain view for him. When she looked at her phone and, upon seeing the time, let out a curse.
  She turned to glare all her frustration out onto the bastard that caused her such trouble. He was, of course, peacefully asleep. With gentle steps not to wake him, she walked over to the bed. With care, she removed his glasses from his face and placed them quietly on the night-stand before leaving the room. It wasnât until 2:20 that she got back to her room on campus.
