ive seen two people mention wanting to learn blender in response to seeing my silly xigbars and i am very excited about the prospect of inadvertently starting a trend of blenderposting. only time will tell whether blender's user-unfriendliness drives them away before they can achieve their dreams

Game Journal: Anode/Cathode Tamer - Entry #01
Tumblr media
A couple weeks ago I posted about wanting to play Tag Tamers (the game that’s basically Ken Ichijouji’s backstory for Adventure 02) now that it had finally been translated to English, but there’s just a little problem: I never played Anode/Cathode Tamer, so how can I play the sequel?
So, to remedy that, I’ll be playing through Digimon Adventure: Anode/Cathode Tamer for the next few weeks. I’ll use this “journal” to give my thoughts on the game, its characters (particularly Ryo Akiyama, though also how it sheds light on other Adventure characters) and its story. Each of these entries is going to be detailing 2 hours of gameplay, but given how big the exposition is at the start of the game, this first one is just going to be the tutorial.
Tumblr media
The game starts with this little introduction. It seems about 5 months have passed since the end of Digimon Adventure, and it’s still 2 more months until the events of Our War Game.
Tumblr media
We get our introduction to our hero, Ryo Akiyama. Like so many other children, he’d rather spend New Year’s Eve chatting with his friends in the computer than interacting with his family. Through those conversations, we learn that strange phenomena (like earthquakes!) have been ocurring lately, and that a boy named Taichi has been saying in his school that this is due to the digimon. Doesn’t exactly fit with how he acted in 02, but we’ll assume there’s character development in-between.
Tumblr media
Of course, fate strikes and there’s a blackout, after which a mysterious message appears in Ryo’s computer. Agumon begs for help, claiming that Taichi and the other have been defeated. Ryo is extremely confused, but agrees to help the strange creature and is promptly faced with a digivice.
Tumblr media
Following Agumon’s instructions, Ryo grabs it and soon disappears, after which we hear one of his parents asking him to go check why the lights went off, getting a bit worried when there’s no answer.
Tumblr media
In a scene reminiscent of the first episode of Adventure, Agumon greets Ryo and introduces him to the Digital World, though this time with a much more concrete answer as to what it is and why Ryo has been brought here (go character development!). Agumon explains that his adventures are supposed to be over, but a new enemy emerged and somehow “broke” time, also kidnapping the Chosen Children. After the brief appearence of a giant killer wave out of nowhere (go Adventure references!), Agumon explains that this kind of phenomena have been going on in the Digital World and that they have to stop their new enemy to save it. Ryo, obviously, questions whether this is a dream or a game, but he doesn’t seem to be freaking out too badly.
Tumblr media
Not freaking out is obviously a mistake in the Digital World,, I guess, because a Shellmon suddenly appears to attack them. We get to the tutorial battle of the game (which is automated and confusing and I learned nothing from it), after which Agumon tells Ryo they’ll go to a nearby village to better explain this.
Tumblr media
We meet our favorite vaguely useful mentor figure. Ryo asks him if he has also been brought to this world against his will (good to see Ryo’s aware of how messed up this is), but Gennai simply tells him he’s digital lifeform too. He proceeds to introduce out new villain:
Tumblr media
Meet Milleniummon, the fusion of a Mugendramon and a Chimeramon Taichi had defeated (so NOT the Chimeramon Ken created later). With its fearsome powers, it broke time and created a new world where the previous Adventure has been reset and the old villains brought back to life. Gennai “asks” him to help them save the Chosen Children and defeat Milleniummon. Agumon and some other child-level digimon question what they will be able to do against such a powerful foe. The answer is simple: they’ll defeat them together, along with whatever allies they’ll gain along the way. Gennai instructs Ryo to go defeat a nearby nest of enemies, and the game officially starts:
Tumblr media
This is the view outside of Gennai’s house, by the way. Good to see he has finally moven outside of the lake. Moving west, we immediately find a Digimon Village, full of houses where the most popular topic is Variable Moves, a couple shops, a place run by Datamon which seems to be akin to a Pokemon Daycare, and (most interestingly) a tree whose leaves give gameplay advice. I’ll call it the Wisdom Tree from now on. Anyway, we make our way to the cave at the north of the village, starting a battle immediately after entering it.
Tumblr media
To fight in this game, you’re given a grid of movement. You can only attack your opponent when you’re directly next to them, and can move away at any point. I assume that once I have 3 digimon, every fight against multiple oponents is going to depend on my skill to position my digimon, corner my opponents and move away when I’m in danger. As of now, though, I have only one digimon, so the strategy is ATTACKATTACKATTACK.
Tumblr media
Oh, and my opponents are babies. Three babies, to be precise.
Tumblr media
Following our heroic slaughter of infants, Gennai congratulates us as if we had just saved the village. As a reward for our service, he grants us a gift:
Tumblr media
Taichi’s digivice! And yes, it’s specifically Taichi’s. He says that, since it’s not Ryo’s, we will not be able to use its full powers, but since Ryo is still a Chosen Child, he’ll be able to use one of the abilities of the digivice. Namely, he’ll be able to recruit the enemies he defeats for his team. And here I am thinking about how much such an ability would have helped the Chosen Children in Digimon Adventure. Or why Gennai insists on telling a kid who volunteered to help that he’s not the one they actually want.
Afterwards, he brings us to the edge of the village and says that Taichi had already cleared every obstacle in our path, but then Milleniummon did what it does best and reset it back to the start. Gennai promptly leaves telling us that he’ll be in his home if we want his help.
Oh, and when he was describing the events of Adventure before, he made sure to only ever mention Taichi and say that it was Agumon, Gabumon and Patamon who saved the world. Way to minimize most of your saviors, Gennai.
This is it for the tutorial. Next entry is going to be about what I hope is the first level. See you!

Hey Lindsay, I've read a few of your fics and I love the way you write :) I've been trying to write a story but i'm just stuck at the outline. So, I was wondering if you could, perhaps, make a little tutorial or a walk-through your process? I'd like to have my story points defined before I start writing but I don't have a structure that I can follow and I really love your style *-* It's okay if you don't feel like it though. I understand. Thank you in advance ^^
hey there friend! i’m not sure when you sent this ask today, i so hope you havent been waiting all day for my reply!! i just saw it.
first things first - thank you so much for your kind words about my writing. they really mean the world to me. and i am SO EXCITED to hear that you’re working on your own fic. that’s amazing!!
now to the meat!
so i don’t know if i have specific or... super organized... process, per se, and i don’t really do a ‘strict’ outline, in the most traditional sense of the word (meaning i don’t have a document full of numbers and bullet points and such). and everyone’s process is going to be a little different, so bear in mind, what works for me might not work for you. but once you get the feel of writing your story, you’ll get a better sense of what your own writing process is. and you’ll figure out what works and doesn’t work for you. the way i do things might not work for you, but that’s totally okay, you’ll come into your own as you go along. and hey, maybe this will work for you! who knows!
but what i generally do when i start a new fic is:
1: i type out my rough and basic idea. i like to do this (and most of my outlining/drafting) in all caps, it helps keep me focused and helps me organize what i have ‘drafted’ and what i have properly written lol.
so for example, um, In the House We Remain, my first idea was jotted out like this, at the top of my document: SAPPY GHOST STORY, AZIRAPHALE BUYS A COTTAGE THAT CROWLEY USED TO OWN, CROWLEY DIED THERE. CROWLEY WAS AN AUTHOR AND HIS BOOKS ARE STILL IN THE HOUSE, WHICH IS HOW AZIRAPHALE GETS TO KNOW HIM.
that’s my base level idea, and i kept it at the top of the document.
2: from there, i start thinking about what are some MAJOR scenes i want to have happen. not the minute details, just the major scenes that were popping in and out of my head when i was daydreaming about the fic. these can be as minimal or as thorough as you like. for In the House We Remain, i had a pretty set idea on how i wanted the story to progress from start to finish, so i had a lot of scenes already in mind.
using the same fic as an example, these are some of the scene ideas i wrote in my fic document, underneath my top line idea: SCENES: - AZIRAPHALE SEES THE COTTAGE (ANATHEMA IS THE REAL ESTATE AGENT) AND HE LOVES IT. HE BUYS IT THAT DAY. (DEFINE THE LANDSCAPE AND HOW THE COTTAGE LOOKS, PROBABLY WANT A POND IN THE BACK, THAT COULD BE HOW CROWLEY WAS MURDERED. COTTAGE SHOULD BE COZY AND DREAMY, A LOVELY THING SET OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRYSIDE. LOOK UP PICS FOR REFERENCES.) - GUNNA HAVE TO MENTION SOMETHING ABOUT THE HOUSE THAT’LL CONNECT TO HOW CROWLEY DIED, SOME VISUAL INDICATORS OF HIS SPIRIT. MAYBE WATER STAINS ON THE FLOOR? LIKE DRIPPING WATER MIGHT POOL AROUND A WET PERSON’S FEET? AM I GOING WITH DROWNING AS CAUSE OF DEATH? DUNNO.***COME BACK TO THIS. - WHILE UNPACKING AZIRAPHALE SEES A BUNCH OF UNFAMILIAR BOOKS IN THE STUDY AND IS CURIOUS ABOUT THEM. - AZIRAPHALE TALKS TO ANATHEMA ABOUT THE BOOKS AND THE AUTHOR. LEARNS THAT CROWLEY IS THE AUTHOR, AND THAT HE OWNED AND DIED IN THE HOUSE MYSTERIOUSLY. - AZIRAPHALE READS THE BOOKS, LOVES THEM, FEELS A CONNECTION WITH CROWLEY. - AZIRAPHALE SOMEHOW CONNECTS WITH CROWLEY’S LINGERING SPIRIT IN THE HOUSE (DETAILS TO COME) - THEY START COMMUNICATING. CROWLEY REVEALS THAT HE WAS MURDERED - I WANT THIS TO BE AN EMOTIONAL SCENE, AZIRAPHALE VERY UPSET AND DISTURBED BY WHAT HE’S BEEN TOLD. ALSO AFRAID CAUSE HE’S MADE CONTACT W/ SOMEONE WHO’S VERY DEAD. MAYBE HE EVEN CALLS ANATHEMA AFTER TO REVEAL THE NATURE OF CROWLEY’S DEATH. - NEED SCENES OF AZIRAPHALE GROWING OLD IN THE HOUSE WITH CROWLEY’S GHOST, THEN EVENTUALLY DYING AND ACTUALLY UNITING WITH HIM. SAPPY, EMOTIONAL, THE WORKS. - AZIRAPHALE AND CROWLEY’S SPIRITS LINGER IN THE HOUSE, EVEN AS A NEW COUPLE MOVES IN.
those were my major scenes that i needed to write and that would make up most of my story.
3: flesh out the aforementioned scenes. break these scenes down individually and think about them, picture them like a movie in your head. when aziraphale sees the cottage, what’s happening around him? has he gotten out of the car? what is the weather like, is it a dreamy setting? should the wind be gently rustling the trees and his hair? is he in awe? does he take a moment to take in the exterior of the house. what does the house look like? picture that entire scene from start to finish, then jot down your thoughts. remember, you aren’t actually doing Proper Good Writing out. you’re just getting the ideas down and the draft ideas fleshed out. 4: once i have those scenes fleshed out (always typed in all caps for me lol), i start the actual ‘writing’ process. I drop the all-caps, start using proper grammar, and go into I’m Telling A Story Mode. I usually try to start writing at the beginning, because i tend to visualize my stories as movies that play in my head. i need to mentally see it progress as i write it, like i would do if i were watching a movie or reading a book. but sometimes that doesn’t happen - sometimes beginnings are the hardest part. if you struggle with the beginning, skip to the first most fleshed out scene you have, the one you feel most comfortable with, or whatever scene you feel REALLY ready to write. this writing doesn’t have to be perfect (it definitely won’t be lol). but you’ll start to get a feel for how you want to actually present this story and these scenes once they’re all finalized. you can edit it and make it prettier later, but for now, just get some words on the paper as if it were a story you were ready to tell. 5: once you have your main scenes fleshed out, you need to start making connections between them. stories need depth and background, so you need to be able to go “okay, i have aziraphale loving the house and buying it, then i need him to find the books in the study, how am I going to connect those two scenes?”
you can do this part either as you go along (example: you’ve written your first Major Scene, and you want to progress onto your next scene, so you write the connections first, then once you have the connection scenes done, you can then move on to the next Major Scene from your draft) OR you can get all your major drafted scenes written, and make your connections AFTER those scenes are done. you just gotta see what works for you.
i prefer the first method, i try to write the major scenes and the connection scenes as i go along so that i have a natural flow. that also allows me to make some changes to a later Major Scene before i actually write it. (example: hm, i was gunna have Aziraphale do XYZ in the next scene, but with this connection, I think having him do ABC in that scene might work better).
if you don’t have a clear-cut idea yet for how to connect your scenes, go back to the all caps ‘drafting’ mode, where you’re just throwing ideas on the page in between, like: ‘AZIRAPHALE HAS JUST MOVED IN AND IS READY TO UNPACK, I NEED HIM TO BRING HIS BOOKS TO THE STUDY TO START UNPACKING THEM AND SHELVING THEM. THAT’S WHEN HE SHOULD NOTICE CROWLEY’S BOOKS THAT HAVE MYSTERIOUSLY APPEARED ON THE SHELVES.’ from there, go back into ‘proper writing’ mode when you’re ready, and flesh out that scene - what is aziraphale doing while he’s unpacking? are his boxes of books already in the study, or do i need him to have a reason to bring them into the study? maybe a mover accidentally placed one in the wrong room. this is your connector that will get you between scenes. 6: once you have all your scenes done in a proper first draft, go back, do re-writes, add new things that you think you might need, take out things that aren’t necessary, check your grammar and spelling, and do your final proofing. (read your story out loud too - it’s the easiest way to catch typos, errors, or weird phrasing)
7: don’t be afraid to write ANYWHERE. many of my ideas for scenes popped up in the middle of a work day, and every time that happens, i text myself. i send myself a text, all caps, with the scene idea, and i don’t open it until i’m ready to write. it helps me keep track of things. i did a lot of writing in notebooks, on post-it notes, wherever really. i even have googledocs installed on my phone so i could access a fic from anywhere if i had a sudden idea. and if i had something new to add to the document, i put it in all caps, so i would know i needed to address it later.
8: act things out! seriously, i’m not kidding. act your scenes out with yourself. especially dialogue scenes. have those dialogues with yourself, think about how you want dialogue to progress, and talk those ideas out in a way that sounds natural to you. that’ll help you write your dialogue later. (the number of times my husband has walked in on me running through some dialogue aloud......... goodness).
9: don’t be afraid of music :) maybe it’s silly, but i make a playlist for every fic i write because i like to listen to music to get me into the correct mood for what i’m writing. it helps me a LOT. maybe it won’t be as helpful for you, but always worth a try.
and that’s really.... the extent of my process. it’s a little messy, i know, and maybe it’s not the best advice. and i just hope that it at least a LITTLE bit of sense... but i hope it will at least be of some help to you! if you’re confused about anything, please don’t hesitate to message me.
or if you want to chat one-on-one, that’s totally fine too. i 100% don’t mind if you send me a chat message. i’m always happy to help.

The strength of Labels
Tumblr media
dvd dimensions You define your own world with labels. Anyone define those around a person using labels. You specify your self with labels. Product labels tend to be powerful - become careful the method that you use these people: they can make or even break your current attitude along with energy.
dvd dimensions
Entire world Labels
While a freshman within college or university my bicycle had been lost from my dormitory hall while my roomie in addition to I cleaned our place. I was lucky for you to get this bicycle again. I was luckier to help learn a valuable "Labeling" tutorial. A Hispanic man (fellow student) had consumed typically the bike. I has been prejudiced versus Hispanics intended for some time after which as a consequence of his actions.
My spouse and i don't like seeing my very own attitudes with regards to people transform because of an individual. In which realization helped me redouble my attitude so that will My partner and i didn't lump tons of great people straight into my frustration at him or her. Time dissolved that rage so he has not possibly the subject of the ire, and hasn't also been in generations. Hispanics decided not to steal our bike -- one person did, as well as he happened to end up being Latino.
That label confident eaten a lot associated with my energy to get a short time there.
Accuracy in the labels is important so in which your thinking correctly reveal the world and also appearance your attitude in regards to the entire world you are describing along with living in.
Better still, minimizing your own personal labeling let us you see men and women with regard to all that they are usually, and can be. Gowns energizing for them, in addition to for an individual, rather compared to taking energy.
Trademarks about Others
On a care my husband and We took a Refezione analyze. Mensa is the "high IQ society" - clever people, to label these individuals. We'd been speaking with Mensa conventions and a single on the organizers felt many of us were Tavola material, nevertheless I was not sure I'd personally even accommodate with the class - or perhaps wanted in order to. I'd long assumed persons in Mensa had been geeks who played expression as well as number games, and have had little social skills. Similar to this collection of labels?!
Considering that our interactions with the various people at often the conventions have been favorable most of us took the assessment : and passed! I actually shoved into a whole distinct collection of labels any time I included with my LinkedIn account that we was any Mensa member (yes, all of us joined the association). My spouse and i was now labeled while some sort of know-it-all, as inside I must recognize every little thing about everything. Inappropriate!
Labeling can help define your personal tribe, or circle regarding contacts and friends. They might be labels of praise or maybe derision. But, labels could also often be narrow and also limiting - and gowns the thing that makes them a difficulty. Labels will come from trusting stereotypes, not being totally sure or being familiar with the full qualifications involving someone's life, as well as via your own life experience along with biases.
Labels place individuals in boxes. Packing containers are generally simplistic. How perform those product labels drain your own energy because of your current "need" to defend all of them? And also the do those trademarks influence impact the folks you put them with?
Others' Labels on You actually
I've possessed others use labels in my experience that, until eventually I saw the fact that was going on and changed my very own response, brought me along. Occasionally I've quickly observed this the label didn't get pian relief, or even apply, in addition to had the ability to rise above the actual energy drain the idea made in me. Occasionally really taken me months to be able to see what happened, arrive at grips with my effect, and re-energize myself.
At times positive labels, while experiencing good, have encouraged me personally to feel cocky or even exceptional. That's limiting as well. While intended compliment connected with a ticket was supposed well, the reaction had not been reasonable. Brands shouldn't help make us no more than they need to break us. Permitting the particular meaning of a point check out your head basically healthy.
Product labels are aspect of how "tribes" usually are created, or identified. Tribes are great to always be part of! Many of us expand, connect, and experience realized with "our people". Typically the trick is to not really permit the tribe's label "get you". You aren't excellent or poor because associated with the tribe label. You will be more than the group, just as you will be much more than the label.
Experiencing precisely how others' labels impression our psyche, it's fair personally to expect this labels upon others affects them in the same manner, even in the event that positive. I know everyone in business is in charge of each of our own reactions on the universe, but I want for you to tread carefully but not lead to others to have a lot more challenges than they actually do. I want to help limit my very own label apps. I want the phrases to lift men and women, certainly not box them throughout.
Your own personal Labels on On your own
Almost certainly my most destroying self applied label I've given to personally is "I'm wii businesswoman". Never mind that My partner and i are actually successfully self-employed regarding over 29 years rapid that is beside typically the point. When I determined to alter the focus regarding my career, the following a few year hiatus did not support my self photo.
Throughout hindsight, those restrictions We bought into contributed in my opinion losing passion for our previous career as a new guest house consultant and brokerage. The volume of four- and five-star B&Bs I'd coached loaded this resume. The range of people I actually really helped realize their hopes for buying and operating a resort filled my cardiovascular system. Nevertheless somehow all of which has not been enough.
I weren't productive by others' explanations involving success: my cash flow levels, my website site visitors, how informed the globe was of myself, often the number of books We would printed - all fell into listed below others' ideas connected with precisely what made for the successful businessperson. U ordered into those constraints intended for a long time. I had created caged me personally with damaging labels.
Joining Brendon Burchard's High Performance Secondary school with March 2015 time to share view the cage I'd set myself into and start its door so My spouse and i could possibly fly free yet again. I am able to still feel that will surge associated with power as well as self identification! What any moment when I started out that cage door, got out into the home, and also stretched my wings.
I am just back!
The almost all damaging labeling of almost all are probably the brands anyone apply to oneself. As you control who have others can be, or perhaps how they are noticed, when you utilize product labels to them, you carry out a similar to yourself instructions merely more so. A person are more important along with unforgiving of on your own as compared to others, most of the actual time, knowning that takes some sort of lot of energy.
While you can be so very much more than you, in addition to more than a tag stated, be careful regarding the labels you actually implement to yourself. If a person think also highly involving yourself, an individual limit your own personal growth in that spot. If you think way too lowly connected with yourself, anyone discourage expansion there far too. The labels you actually employ reflect all the methods you put yourself within packing containers, the ways a person limit by yourself, and the particular ways you don't accept yourself fully.
Your power is usually connected to your personal acceptance, your own growth, as well as your freedom. Whenever you steer clear of self labels an individual mirror self acceptance. Once you adopt yourself you assist your current growth. When you no longer box yourself in you could have the freedom to possibly be yourself inside myriad techniques. Those just about all support a new strong energy.
Good vitality keeps you living with typically the day, allows you in order to be fruitful, and results in alertness. Lifestyle label cost-free supports a lively life.

A lonely, wannabe cosplayer
I’ve been obsessed with dressing up for as long as I can remember. When I was young I took Halloween waaaaay too seriously. I didn’t even realize that half of my costumes were cosplays, I just always wanted to be the thing I was geeking over the most of that year and I wanted it to be as accurate as possible.
When I was 11 I made a complete, head-to-toe costume of Jemima from the musical CATS. I made a wig from scratch, I did extra chores for months to afford fabric paint so that I could do cross hatching on my leotard. I learned to crochet to make leg warmers.
When I was 12 I learned how to sew, specifically so I could make an accurate replica of Zelda’s pink dress from Skyward Sword.
15, I spent hours watching face paint tutorials and demolishing a wedding dress I bought from Goodwill in order to look like a bride in the transition of being turned to stone when my best friend told me she wanted to be Medusa for Halloween.
Now, I’m 20 years old. Still as geeky as ever. I’m absolutely inspired by @ginnydicosplay and @mobrienorwhatever, to name a couple. But friends, here I am, Halloween is approaching, I’m planning to dress up as my current D&D character, and I’m sad.
I’m saddened by every Halloween I spent alone when I was little and didn’t have anyone to trick or treat with (I passed out candy in costume to justify wearing it). I’m saddened by every time I went to a costume party to be the only person who went overboard and obviously put way to much effort into their costume. I’m saddened by the years I skipped Halloween because I didn’t have anyone to make plans with, or I didn’t have the time/money to make a costume that year. (The day I buy a pre-made Halloween costume is the day I die). I’m saddened by the one year in high school I got asked to go hang out on Halloween and I put minimal effort into my Mikasa costume, because I didn’t want appear too nerdy to my boyfriend or friends. I’m saddened that I, once again, don’t have any Halloween plans, and if I did, I think I’d be too scared to show up in my D&D costume.
I don’t have the money to constantly make costumes, I don’t have the money to go to cons. I have no idea how to make internet friends (this post is going out to the void) and I just feel like I don’t have any camaraderie in my personal life that would allow this hobby to continue being any fun. The only joy I get is the process. But once it’s finished I have no one to share the results with. I fear that this Halloween will be like all the others, but after this year, I’ll hang up my pin cushion.
I want to be a cosplayer. Probably not professionally or full time, heck maybe spending time on one costume a year would be enough for me. But I want to be someone who can say that they cosplay for fun and that it’s a big part of their life! I want to be able to continue treasuring this thing I love so much. But I want to be able to meet the people that I can do it with.
So if you somehow got past the void..., hey friend! Welcome to the wrambly side of tumblr. Wanna dresss up like characters from critical role and carve pumpkins together?

Description: Sales notifications from ClickBank. If you don’t believe these are real sales, call up ClickBank.com to verify yourself. I have customers from ALL AROUND THE WORLD buying the course… I hate seeing my HARD WORK being wasted. You see, I’ve spent more than 6 months to learn about the app business and thousands of dollars invested. On top of that, so much work have been poured into recording the video training for the 6-Week APPportunity Coaching Program 2.0. Because of being involved with too many projects, I don’t have time to promote it in 2015. So instead of me keeping it, I would prefer to give away my knowledge for free so that I can contribute to others immensely. But because I did not update the modules, please note on the following: Your timing is excellent. Firstly, it’s the best time to start your app business because while others are still focused on internet marketing, you’re one step ahead of the game. And weirdly enough, it’s much easier to make money with apps than internet marketing, especially for newbies. Secondly, the premier APPportunity Coaching Program is now open for limited sign ups today. Take the next 10 minutes to read this letter so that you can be part of this “recent” opportunity – there is so much money to be made with apps. The fact is, app opportunity is now here, and it’s not stopping. Mobile app is not just the FUTURE, it’s the PRESENT. You need to learn this “secret” in today’s new commerce economy – micro-transactions. The proof is already in our faces. And the truth is, it’s happening so fast. But the good news is it’s not too late for you to be a part of this “Internet reborn”. It’s like getting to start all over again at the ground floor opportunity – having the “second chance” to make it big. This time, it’s yours to take. Sometimes you wonder – how do these apps and games make so much money when they’re 100% free? I couldn’t think of a better business model where EVERYONE is happy – the user gets to use the useful apps or play the fun game for free, the developer makes money from the advertisers and the advertisers get to promote their offers and products. Actually, my game app adopts the same strategy to make money. And I just LOVE it. I can literally make money while giving away apps for free. Imagine if you just have 10,000 app downloads and within your app, you’re “sharing” the advertiser’s app. That’s the EASIEST way to making thousands every month. My students get hundreds of thousands of app downloads – imagine how much money you could be making by “giving away” apps for free. *Admob: The incomes shown above are from Admob.com. Admob is one of the many ad networks for mobile apps. With Admob, you can get paid by displaying in your ads. The currency for mobile business is the “app downloads”. And interestingly, it’s amazingly easy to get users to download your apps for free. The big money is in the app downloads. Just think – Facebook and Google bought Instagram and Waze for a billion dollar each, when both of these apps aren’t making millions of dollars. It’s the database. Just imagine if your app was lucky to catch on the trend and somehow exploded overnight. It’s time to cash out. There’s where you’ll be making MILLIONS without trying so hard to monetize it. Maybe you don’t make a billion. Or multi-millions. A friend of mine does brokering for app business. I took this listing from him, of apps sold… You see, I’ve decided not to miss this boat because I know this is the “boat” that will ensure my long-term financial freedom. It all started when I was on a holiday 2 years ago, it was in Korea then. During my break, I’ve taken that time to reflect back on the purpose of why all of us have started or wanted to explore internet marketing, or starting an internet business. In essence, it’s NOT all about making money — it’s about being able to work less and have more time to do the things we really want, meanwhile reducing the stress we’re facing with conventional businesses (or jobs). Thus, this is why it’s important that we MUST be able to make money easily and the income must be predictable and stable. If you ever wanted to make easy, predictable and stable income for yourself, these are the 5 criteria you should have… If you ask your neighbour whether they’ve read (fill in the blank with your favourite internet marketing guru’s name’s) latest blog post, they’ll look at you strangely. A mainstream product is a product that everyone knows, or if they don’t, it’ll just take you a minute to explain and they will GET IT. Do you have a mainstream product? Assuming we get to ignore product life cycle and external influences like competitors, change of trends, etc, your product should be able to grow by simply doing more of whatever that is already working. For instance, many app companies can easily scale its business to the next level by releasing new games on the same platform easily. Internet marketing is definitely a very lucrative niche and it certainly gets my recommendation. However, 9 out of 10 of the products in the market do not have natural growth — they’re promoted through an orchestrated launch (which is unlikely to be pulled by a newbie or marketer with minimal funds). After the launch, when everything settles down, the product will eventually “die” on its own. Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it but it’s surely not the long-term model that you and I are seeking to achieve for our financial freedom. Preferably, your product should be a kind of product that gets the user to come back again to “consume” it again. Twitter and Facebook are two very accurate examples. Or a game where the player comes back to play it again and again. 5. You should not be in the picture. When the product is up and running, doing what it’s supposed to do, you’re not supposed to be the reason why the user continues to use your product. If this happens, it’s going to be very difficult for you to ever achieve the freedom you want. Just look at today’s internet marketers — they are facing this problem. If you don’t believe me, just ask around. An app business. It fits into the 5 criteria perfectly. But what excites me the most is… Although I’ve seen a few internet marketers who have successfully reached this stage, the truth is, almost none of them will ever reach it here. Even if you’re just selling it off for a million or several hundreds of thousands, that’s not too shabby. But for the conventional internet marketing, I doubt there is any exit strategy for it. App business is different; it’s a MAINSTREAM business. If you haven’t realized by now that iPhones are *everywhere*. The market is extremely big. And you know what – I haven’t even touched on Google Android yet. This opens up the floodgate to an insane number of users. Android captures more than 70% of today’s mobile market share, whereas Apple is at about 15%. The rest are using other platforms. I’m mad with the lies you’ve been fed with. You’ve probably seen some low price courses or e-books on the internet with a super-hyped up sales letter which promise you can make money with apps, right? Frankly, it may sound bias for me to tell you but 99% of them are nothing but just “tutorials”. As your friend, I would at least suggest you have some due-diligence as to the accuracy of their claims. The truth is, nearly all of them are BS nonsense. Sorry. How about the “big boys” who have success with their apps and are now teaching it? They’re great but truthfully, you’re not getting the full scoop story bucko. Yes, they’ll tell you how to do it, but they don’t really tell you how they did it, do they? Meaning, they’re not telling you exactly what they did to get over a million download and so on. The X factor (missing gap, whatever) is never shared. Some of these gurus even claimed that their apps have been sold for millions but the funniest part is, they never tell you which are the apps sold and which company bought it, don’t they? It make you wonder the validity to these claims. Many secrets are locked in the vault – forever. Probably just shared among their buddies where you’re not part of their “inner circle”. The worst of it all is how some unethical marketers mislead us to believe their scams. For instance, they say that they’ll be teaching us about creating apps, but the truth is it’s just using some platform to create content apps (some call these apps niche apps). I want you to have a unique app. Just another low quality app. Just so you know, it’s POINTLESS to create low quality apps. They usually don’t get approved in the Appstore. And even if they do, they’re not going to be liked by the users and you could even piss them off. But the good news is, if you do it right and you have the right system, you can be an app entrepreneur and making money from apps EVERY DAY. We’ve start making money from apps since 2013. Here is some proof from our students… (Admob: The incomes shown above are from Admob.com. Admob is one of the many ad networks for mobile apps. With Admob, you can get paid by displaying in your ads.) Today, I’ll be accepting 30 new coaching students to teach them on how to make money from apps and how to build a long-term app business. How to create the golden goose like what many of our students are having. Making money like clockwork. You’ll first start by generating additional “part-time” income with simpler apps and eventually move on to phase two, where your aim is to quit your job (or be able to let go of your existing business that is stressing you out). And finally, to build an app business that can allow you to retire, should you want to. Previously, I’ve released APPportunity Coaching Program version 1.0. What you’re getting is Version 2.0, which is even more comprehensive with NEW DISCOVERIES that I’ve found. I’ll teach you how to create content apps, utility apps, game apps and how to make serious money with ALL OF THEM. In this new version, I’ll also be focusing on Android Apps. There are 3 types of apps I’ll be teaching: Content Apps: These are apps that provide necessary content. Just think of a website that has been turned into an app. Or think of Newsstand (for Apple devices). They are easy to create. The way to make money with these apps is to pick a niche market and create content solely for this niche market. Just like how you do with internet marketing. For instance, you can create an app about cooking that includes recipes, cooking videos, cooking material reviews, etc. in it – content. Game Apps: Exactly how it sounds, game apps are games. Angry Birds, Draw Something, Doodle Jump, Temple Run, Restaurant Story, Candy Crush, Subway Surfers, etc. Game apps are probably the most complex app to be developed because of the designs, animations and the interactions involved. However, if it provides good game play, it’ll probably yield the most repetitive usage. Similarly, the more times your app is opened, generally, the more money you’ll be able to make. Anyway, you don’t need to understand any of these right now because I’ll be going in-depth with each of them later on. Please keep in mind that it’s not a course for you to watch or read, it’s a 6 weeks coaching program. This way, I’ll have time to impart not just my knowledge, but a lot of my real life experiences with the app business. The stuff I’m CURRENTLY doing. Each week, you’ll get my exclusive training for the next 6 weeks — they’re usually in videos. Sometimes, they’re in different formats, as long as they’re effective in teaching you. Then there will be a client’s-only coaching area where you’ll be able to ask any questions so that I can continue to coach you to success. The coolest part is, it’s not just two ways — you’ll get to learn from the other students as well. We’ll create a “group” for you. I would also want you to know that this is a STEP-BY-STEP coaching program, suitable for you regardless of whether you’re a newbie or indeed an experienced internet marketer. And it’s designed for NON-programmers. No programming knowledge is required at all. Zero is fine. Totally cool. Like me for an example, I don’t know squat about coding. And actually, as ignorant as it may sound, I don’t care. You see, I don’t want to be a programmer — I want to be a marketer and entrepreneur… and I want to show you how to achieve that level too. Needless to say, that’s where the money is. We’ll start the coaching with the content app because it’s the simplest way for you to get started. To get your feet wet. To understand the game of this business and what it entails. Finally, you’ll be taking action and watch your app being created – and it will be happening as quickly as in Week #2. After that, I’ll teach you the utility and game apps. Again, no programming skill is required whatsoever. I’ll teach you how to hire programmers to make the money for you. Now you’ll know why it’s 6 weeks of training and coaching. I have so much to teach and share with you. I’m very passionate about this. The good news is, you’ll be doing while learning, therefore, expect to start making some WHILE you’re still going through the coaching program! Again, I need to emphasize this strongly — I’m NOT teaching you how to program apps. Like I said earlier, I don’t even know how to do that. But what I’m teaching you is how to become an app entrepreneur and marketer, perhaps even becoming an app millionaire someday. I’ll be teaching you the secrets and strategies of making money with apps and turning them into real businesses. It’s about creating an easy, predictable and stable income for your life. Firstly, this is a coaching program where I’ll be around to help you during these 6 solid weeks. The APPportunity Coaching Program 2.0 doesn’t just guide you with the steps and strategies, but I’ll bring you “behind the scenes” of what’s really happening. And I can do this because some of our apps are in the middle of their development, where you’ll now get to look behind my shoulder and “clone” my app business models. It can’t get any better than this — you’ll be “walking” through the development process. It’s like having X-ray vision into my app business. In the coaching program, I’ll share with you my current apps too and I’ll tell you how they’re being developed. I’ll even share with you EXACTLY how they’re being promoted to get thousands of downloads! Lastly, as egoistic as it sounds, it’s me who’s creating the program. Humbly, I don’t think my name is unknown at the top of the food chain with other internet marketing gurus. I’ve been around for more than 10 years now. My credibility includes being the co-author of Clicking Cash with Robert G. Allen, the best-selling author of One Minute Millionaire and Multiple Streams of Income (millions of copies sold). I’m also the best-selling author of WakeUp Millionaire – which was featured #1 in Amazon.com’s “self help” category previously. My earlier app development business was a Facebook app called PagePressApp, which is currently powering more than 70,000 Fanpages and used in over 133 countries. I’ve also started a brand new mobile development called, NagScreen.com to help mobile app developers and marketers to generate revenue from their apps. I’ve spoken in 11 countries as an authority in internet marketing and appeared in newspapers numerous times. I could go on and on to the blurb about myself but that would be impolite. There is no point telling you how awesome I am. So I’ll leave it to your own justification on my credentials. So why am I doing this? Very good question. To answer your question about why I’m opening up this coaching program, it’s because I’m expanding in the app business, right now as we speak. Meaning, I don’t need to work more to create this training for you. I don’t need to crack my brain to think of what to teach, dig out the resources for you, etc. Simply because I’m already doing them — I just need to “pass” my knowledge, strategies, secrets and discoveries to you effectively. And subsequently coach you to similar success. You can see that I didn’t do any formal launch for this coaching program, other than sharing it with you and my subscribers. However, I do need to close it once in a while because I don’t want to have too many students in each intake. MY GOAL IS TO HELP YOU GET STARTED TODAY. Now, as much as I’m doing this coaching program for you, I’m actually doing this for my own business success too. Why? By far, this is the BEST way I can stay committed to my own milestones for my app business. When I commit to you, I’m fortunately committing to myself. Lastly, it’s because I’ve recently read the book called 8th Habit by the late Stephen Covey (the best-selling author who wrote The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People). He passed away quite some time ago, so I thought of picking up his book to read it again. The book truly inspires me; It talks about searching for your “voice” and helping others to find their own voice. Today, creating an easy, predictable and stable income is my voice and as cheesy as it sounds, I will help others to find their voice. It’s the greatest gift I can give to others… and of course to myself. This is what my previous students have been investing for: “I will personally guarantee that if you make an honest effort to learn, follow the instructions and determine to benefit from the coaching program, you’ll gain valuable insights on how to make money from mobile apps and start your app business. That’s right, but if you are not 100% satisfied for whatever reason, let me know within the next 45 days and I’ll issue you an immediate, no-hassle 100% refund of your investment. I’m taking all of your risk to make sure that you can be wildly successful. It’s as simple as that.” And if I tell you, you may not believe it. Truth is, I’m on a mission to help as many people as possible. It’s okay for me to make less at this stage as I have multiple streams of internet income. In the past, I’ve coached a student wholeheartedly and he made money from apps. But then, he turned rogue and bashed me publicly in Facebook. Maybe in many more places, I don’t know. Then I came to realization that there are greed, ego and selfishness in human being when they became successful. There’s evil within human being that you could never understand in this lifetime. And not everyone is taught about humility and gratefulness. But I believe there are still GOOD PEOPLE in this world who we can help within our capability. To secure your seat before all of them are gone (anytime soon), just click the button below to checkout. I hate seeing my HARD WORK being wasted. But because I did not update the modules, please note on the following: P.S. Important UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming response to this coaching program, it could end as early as within the next few hours. Don’t delay. Your 2014 future’s here. To get your seat secured, Click on the links above NOW… Remember, you have a 45-day money back guarantee with no questions asked whatsoever. P.P.S. Think about it… Within the next 6 weeks, you too could be an app entrepreneur or marketer like me. And as you keep following the techniques outlined in The APPportunity Coaching Program 2.0 it just gets better; the money can keep rolling in. The step-by-step process you’ll follow will generate results that will surprise you. Heck, you might even consider stopping internet marketing by this point. Imagine you can start an app business with zero development, without having any technical knowledge or experience. The good news is, it’s possible. The video training below is taken from one of the modules inside my 6-Week APPportunity Training Program. Enjoy the video! Just subscribe below to get free instant access: * Your privacy is 100% safe * A.No, the APPportunity Coaching Program 2.0 is designed for NON-programmers. In fact, 99% of our students who are making money with apps right now DO NOT have any programming knowledge or experience at all. It’s about understanding how to build the app business. A.Yes, because an app business doesn’t require you to know much about internet marketing. In fact, if you’ve been failing with internet marketing, you should drop it and work on this for a change. You’ll soon notice that the app business is actually easier to monetize (since there are fewer things to learn). A.The coaching program is step-by-step but it’ll be an entire new world to you because it has nothing to do with internet marketing. As an experienced marketer, my only advice is, you SHOULD join me. Today, I run 2 kinds of internet businesses – internet marketing business and app business. A.We’ll start with iPhone apps. If you have a winning iPhone app, you can always consider deploying it to the Google Androids platform later on. Or, you even create iPad versions. At the same time, for content app, we’ll focus more on Androids instead. ClickBank is the retailer of this product. I tell myself I won’t apologize every single time I post on this blog after a long hiatus, but I grew up a Catholic in Ohio – we apologize for everything! So to anyone who might sometimes read this, I apologize for my incredibly long absence. One of my resolutions for the new year is to post more regularly here, so hopefully there’ll be more content showing up more regularly.
(I know this is my second post of the new year – Happy 2019! – but I started writing it first, so I figured I’d leave this all in.)
So! The thing that convinced me I needed to write again – it wasn’t a particular pattern, or make (although I would like to do a post on my family’s Christmas presents soon), but rather a life choice I made in early December. Almost my entire life, and certainly my entire adult life, one of my identifiers has been my hair. I’ve heard myself summed up as the tall girl with the super long hair more times than I can count, and after 27-plus years it had become a major part of my identity. This year, though, I started feeling disenchanted with my hair. It just… sat there. I hardly ever knew quite what to do with it, and so it spent a lot of time in ponytails and messy buns, the latter especially on days when I couldn’t get its texture quite right. I always hovered somewhere between straight and wavy, with annoying levels of frizz for the constant lack of volume. I love the color of my hair, but the days on which I loved my hair itself were growing less and less frequent. Time for a change. The problem was, the few times I’ve gone short, I’ve been less than impressed, and none of the shorter hairstyles I was finding were giving me any sort of thrill – there was no feeling of, wow. I bet I would rock that. Then one day, I can’t for the life of me remember why, I started looking up Instagram hashtags like #baldgirl and #buzzcutgirl and fell down a rabbit-hole of one thrill after another. These women looked badass. They looked large and in charge and incredibly free. I stood in front of the bathroom mirror and slicked my hair back into the smallest, tightest bun I could and studied the shape of my head. Could I? Did I dare?
I figured it was best to talk it out. I asked a small circle of friends, including one who was a genius with hair and could give me a professional opinion, and was overwhelmed with the positive response: apparently, everyone else thought I could rock a buzz cut too. (I didn’t want to go full bald – like I said, I like the color of my hair, and I didn’t like the idea of going all the way to the scalp. Not for me.) While I initially toddled off to a salon, thinking it would be better to let a professional make the first chop, I was appalled by the price of a haircut in New York – even in Astoria, I’d be looking at between $65 and $85 to have someone whack off all my hair and then cut it all the same distance from my scalp, and it was even more expensive the closer I got to Manhattan. In hindsight, and after talking to my sister who also sports a short and semi-androgynous haircut, I could have gone looking for a unisex barber shop and probably gotten a much better deal, but instead I returned home and looked up every video and tutorial I could on buzzing your own head. It looked simple enough. I just wanted everything one length.
And so, I took a “before” picture. I knocked on my roommate’s door and asked to borrow his clippers. I sectioned off my hair into four pigtails, pulled out the scissors, and tried not to hyperventilate as I snipped through each pigtail between the hair tie and my scalp. And then – I ran my hands through my hair. It was so easy to ruffle it around, in its strange, short, ragged strands, and I easily spent ten minutes just fussing it around in the mirror and laughing at myself. It wasn’t an anticlimactic moment exactly, but I think somehow I’d expected to be overcome by such a huge shift, and instead it made me feel both physically and mentally lighter. A much longer time later than I expected (buzzing hair for the first time takes a hot minute), I’d used the clippers to trim everything as evenly as I could to 3/8″ from my scalp. I then spent the next half hour alternating between running my hands back and forth over the short bristly texture of my head and running to my roommates’ rooms to make them do the same.
Before…
…and after!
I don’t know if I’m just incredibly lucky in my friends and family, or if I really was just meant to have a buzz cut, but the response to my new look has been overwhelmingly positive. I’ve had a lot of people tell me how much they admire and respect me for making such a bold choice, and nearly as many sigh and say they wished they had the balls to do something similar. I’ve been told I have a well-shaped head (phew!) and that I carry it off very well. As for my own response, I absolutely adore it. I’ve had a few wistful moments when I see a very cool hairstyle and remember that I can’t try it on myself anymore, and I had a distressingly discontented streak when I was home over Christmas when I worried I was having second thoughts until I realized I just needed to start trimming everything down to my 3/8″ sweet spot on a weekly basis, but on the whole I’ve been super happy with my shorn head. It feels so nice! And it makes me look like Furiosa!
The steepest learning curve aside from my new haircare duties (daily washing is pretty much unavoidable if I want to look kempt, and weekly trims are a must) has been figuring out how the new proportions of my head affect how I look in my clothing and jewelry, which in turn is influencing my sewing plans for the new year. Strangely, removing two feet of hair that used to frame your face, neck, and shoulders changes your look. Who knew?? One thing I’ve discovered is that I’m not crazy about how traditional shirt collars look – I don’t know if it’s because adding bulk around my neck makes me look pin-headed, or if the full collar just feels needlessly fussy next to the sleek minimalism of my hair, but I’m leaning more toward a mandarin collar finish on button-up shirts and the like. For a long time, I was obsessed with making myself more button-up shirts, and constantly guilting myself for not having made up the Grainline Archer even though I’ve had the paper pattern printed and put together for nearly a year. I was also wild to make the Deer&Doe Bruyere shirt, and as many Alder shirtdresses as my closet would hold. Now, though, I’m trying to decide – if I make them now, will I even wear them?
On the flip side, I’m loving the proportions of a bulky scarf or cowl/turtleneck, maybe because they frame my neck and shoulders better? A bulky green infinity scarf a friend gave me has been getting a lot of play in my wardrobe this winter, so I’m looking at adding some oversized cowl necklines to my winter makes where possible – my Make Nine 2019 includes a Colette Moneta with just such an added cowl neckline. Or maybe I’ll just make a bunch of scarves so I can mix and match! I’m still analyzing and working things out re:collars, but those two discoveries have been huge so far.
I also much prefer a less girly silhouette, since I personally find the buzz cut both more grown-up and more androgynous than my long locks, and I’m looking towards tailored, clean details and more… mature colors? Mature isn’t the right word, but where before I could count on two feet of dark brown hair to tone down a Rainbow Brite-esque color scheme, now I have to temper bright colors within the outfit itself. I’m looking to add more strong neutrals to my wardrobe, especially in darker tones since it’s winter now, and I’ve already started playing with the way I put together the color palette of an outfit. I’d like to move towards having my beloved jewel tones as strong accents, rather than the entirety of an outfit – or, if they are the entirety, then maybe just focus on one, rather than cramming in as many as I can stand.
One of the strange but awesome perks has been discovering that my long-time aversion to pullover sweaters is gone, since the thing I hated was having to finagle them over my hair without destroying it with static. I discovered this when I tried on the Finlayson sweater I made my little sister for Christmas and realized I loved both how it looked and how it felt, and I immediately started scheming over which fabrics in my stash would make a good lightweight sweater. New York City in the winter absolutely demands layers, as I rush from warm apartment, to frigid streets, to drafty subway stops, to overheated subway cars, and back out into the cold, and being able to take a pullover on and off easily is a game-changer. Bring on the pullovers!
Obviously, these revelations are unique to my experience – not everyone thinks the same things look good, which is one of the things I love best about fashion! I’m definitely still getting used to the new look, but overall I’m really happy, and I’m excited to keep exploring the options I have in front of me. Going into a brand new year, I feel optimistic that I can shed past negativities and restrictions I put on myself just as easily as I chopped off all my hair, and move towards new projects and dreams without letting anything hold me back. Am I putting too much faith in a haircut I love? Maybe – but I learned a long time ago not to underestimate how the way I look can change the way I live my life.
The Chop: When, Why, How, and How It’s Influencing My Sewing I tell myself I won't apologize every single time I post on this blog after a long hiatus, but I grew up a Catholic in Ohio - we apologize for everything!
