Ok so well this be quite the turnabout from the last sketch um:

I included the shadows on the floor, it is called shadowalkers for a reason, and added the wee faces in them like I did for the first piece

The background was a pain in the ass and I tried a lil something something with the lighting/lens flares. Something similar to the lighting in the piece I did where they're cuddling

Now everyone might say multiply on the layers does miracles but can I just saw 'add glow' and 'glow Dodge' are my new best friends? Srsly they give that damn good zest that it needs

I had so much trouble just doing Mac's face in particular. Like the contrast between the dark scalera and light irises was too much even though I did it before and it worked then-

And like his proportions were way off even though they matched the f*cking sketch which looked fine and they didn't match up with Wukong's at all-

Then his hair looked too big and clunky like a large chunk rather than hair and cause Mk's head was blocking it, I couldn't shade correctly-

AND I WAS STARTING TO BLOODY LOOSE IT I WANTED TO PUNCH THIS LIL BI-

But then I made his head bigger and it all worked out 'u'

I will admit though, I am quite happy with how my art style has progressed over time and this just might be one of my best pieces.

Sitting towards the back of the room, you take note of the messy black hair and all black clothes. You walk over to him with a smile on your face. “Megumi?” you question.

The boy looks up from his notes and meets your eyes. “Oh, hey, Yuji’s friend. I didn’t know you were in this class,” he says, gesturing at the seat next to him and inviting you to sit.

“I could say the same to you,” you respond, setting down your backpack and getting settled next to him. You have never been this close to Megumi before, and notice his very subtle cologne that leaves a warm and almost smokey scent hanging in the air around him.

“I’m a biology major, so it kinda makes sense I’d have to be here,” he says, turning back towards his notes. You notice a small smirk forming on one side of his mouth as he does so.

As soon as you open your mouth to reply, your professor waltzes in at the front of the lecture hall, her heels softly clacking against the wood floor and the room falls quiet except for her voice. You and Megumi sit in silence for the rest of the class as you furiously scribble in your notes, trying to keep up with what Dr. Ieiri is lecturing on. Halfway into the class you glance over at Megumi’s notes and see he’s just…doodling? His page is full of drawings, from dogs to birds and frogs, covering the lined paper in front of him. He notices you staring and glances up at you out of the corner of his eye before turning his attention back to the paper. His drawing style suddenly shifts as he sketches a new shape. You watch him, mesmerized, as you realize he’s drawing…you?

Dr. Ieiri seems to end abruptly as she dismisses everyone, but you stay seated, waiting for Megumi to finish up his work. He tears the page out of his notebook and hands it to you without a word before putting everything on his desk into his backpack. You begin to pack up, unsure of what to say. After all, nobody has ever drawn you before - are you supposed to thank him? Should you give it back? In a panic, you stutter, “U-um, I’m going to go study at the library, if you want to come with me?”

Megumi glances up at you and softly responds, “Sure,” before tossing his backpack over his shoulder.

The two of you find a quiet table in the back corner of the library, dimly lit from the overhead lights and warm afternoon sun pooling in from a nearby window. You get started on your work quietly until Megumi clears his throat. “So, you never answered why you’re in Dr. Ieiri’s class,” he invites.

“Well, I’m an engineering major, but I’m still not sure what kind I want to be yet, so I have to take all these classes that are supposed to help me figure it out, and biology is one of them,” you explain. Megumi nods in response, before you continue, “I know I like to work with my hands, but I also like to think about problems before I have to solve them, which makes it hard to decide on a path. I know I don’t like computers, but I do love math. And I really didn’t expect to like Dr. Ieiri’s class as much as I do, so now I’m not sure,” you trail off. You pause for a moment, hoping you weren’t rambling. “You said you’re a bio major, right? Why’d you choose that? Also, I didn’t see you in her class last week, but we had definitely already met at Yuji’s, and you weren’t really paying attention today-” you stop yourself, realizing you were definitely rambling this time.

Megumi looks down. “Yeah I’m um…I’m actually retaking this class, so I kind of know it already.” You wait for him to continue. “Last fall my sister got really sick. Well, she got more sick, I guess. I had to take some time off to take care of her, so I ended up failing Dr. Ieiri’s class the first time I took it. I was gone last week because my sister was supposed to have this really big surgery and I wanted to be there for her, but they ended up postponing it, so I just stayed at the hospital with her for the rest of the week. She’s actually the reason I’m a bio major - I want to be a doctor so I can help people like her. It’s not fair what happened, and I want to make sure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.” He stops, realizing his hands had formed into fists as he was talking. His body relaxes and he shrugs, trying to ease some of the weight from the information he had just shared with you.

“I think it’s really sweet that you care about your sister so much,” you say. “It sounds like she is really important to you.” Megumi nods, still not looking up from the table. Unsure what else to say, you reach a hand out to touch his shoulder, hoping it provides some comfort. He leans into your touch, resting his cheek on the top of your hand. The feeling of his hair brushing against your arm gives you the ever-familiar butterflies and you try not to visibly blush. The two of you stay like that for a moment, comfortable in the silence, before you hear your phone buzz in your pocket. Megumi lifts his head up so you can use your hand to answer it, and he slowly gets back to work as you pull your phone out and look at it.

Incoming call: “YuYu”

You smile at the nickname he put in your phone for you when he first gave you his number back in highschool. You answer it and hold the phone up to your ear.

“Hey! Sorry I keep calling you randomly, but I have a bit of an emergency. But, this time it’s a good emergency, I promise. Remember that date I was supposed to have tonight? Turns out she can’t go anymore, but I already have a reservation at this new sushi place I have been dying to try, and I knowwwww you love sushi,” he says, and you can practically hear his smile through the phone. “I already know you’re going to say yes, so I’ll meet you at your place at 6:00 and we can walk over together. Oh, and it’s kind of fancy but not too fancy, but don’t worry about it too much! Okay great, I’ll see you then!” he finishes before hanging up.

You didn’t even get a word in for that entire conversation, but it looks like you now have plans tonight. Glancing at your now unlocked phone screen, you realize it’s already almost 5:00. “Shit,” you mutter under your breath. “I’m sorry Megumi, but I have to go,” you say, turning your attention back to the boy across from you.

“No worries,” he says with a soft smile. “This was really nice, we should study again sometime. Here, let me give you my number.” He holds his hand out for your phone and you give it to him, watching him put in his contact information before handing it back to you. You collect your study materials and wave at him as you walk out of the library.

When you arrive at the restaurant, you are shocked by Yuji’s definition of “kind of fancy.” The place is absolutely gorgeous, with natural wood and stone forming high ceilings, small fountains and mini waterfalls creating a soothing ambiance as the water collects in a river that winds throughout the restaurant. You walk over small bridges that decorate the interior to reach your table, surrounded by plants that provide some natural privacy. You felt slightly out of place despite wearing your nicest dress and heels, especially compared to Yuji in his black slacks and sport coat. You have to admit, though, the boy does clean up nicely.

Without getting a chance to even look at the menu, Yuji orders for both of you when the server returns. You gently smack his arm from across the table. “Hey, why did you do that? How could you assume what I wanted?” you ask playfully.

“I told you, I know you,” he shrugs. “Besides, dinner is on me since I dragged you out here last-minute. There’s some stuff I’ve been wanting to try ever since this place opened, and I got some things you’ll like, too,” he explains through a toothy grin.

“How generous, getting me things I’ll actually like,” you smirk, rolling your eyes. “Speaking of ‘dragging me here,’ what happened with your date?” you ask, trying to hide any remnants of jealousy.

“Oh, she just had something come up with a friend, but we rescheduled for next week. Plus, after the last practice date kind of went to shit, I figured it would be nice to actually get used to this place before the real-deal,” he says nonchalantly.

For some reason, his words sting more than you expect. Referring to this girl as the real-deal means that he must think you’re less than her, less deserving of his time or energy or-

Your thoughts cut off as an enormous pile of food gets set down on your table. There seems to be everything from nigiri to sashimi and tempura, all of it looking mouth-wateringly good. Yuji thanks the server and immediately starts digging in. Your stomach growls involuntarily and you’re forced to push your thoughts aside as you take a bite.

“Oh, my god,” you practically groan through the rice. “This is insane.”

“Right?” Yuji agrees, his cheeks puffed out from being so full of food.

The two of you eat in silence, savoring the combination of flavors in front of you, until Yuji pulls his phone out of his pocket. He smiles down at it and starts typing a message, and you can almost feel your blood boil. In an attempt to defuse your emotions you glance down at your phone, which unlocks to the recent contact page with Megumi’s information open on it. What the hell you think, typing out a message to send to him.

You: “hey Megumi, thanks for hanging out today, it was really nice”

Your phone buzzes almost immediately.

Megumi: “If this is who I think it is, I agree. Are you free tomorrow? There’s a new cafe off campus that’s really cozy, and I have some exams next week I need to study for. I’d love to see you”

The message makes you feel warm inside - he would love to see you? Of course you have to say yes.

You: “i’m free, how’s 11:00 sound? meet at your place?”

He ‘love’ reacts your message, which you take as affirmation of your plans. You put your phone back into your purse and look back up to see Yuji still smiling down at his phone. “Hey, it’s rude to be on your phone at the table,” you tease, but it comes out more irritated than you intended.

“Sorry, Nobara just said something funny and-” he cuts off, looking up at you realizing he had never told you the name of the girl he actually had feelings for, even though you already knew from seeing her name on his phone this morning.

“Oh, so is this ‘Nobara’ the one you were supposed to take out tonight?” you ask slyly. Yuji just nods blankly, trying to read your facial expressions. “Well, she must be quite special then,” you respond, desperately attempting to shove down any lingering jealousy as you maintain eye contact. “I actually have a date tomorrow, too,” you continue, not looking away from him. He cocks his head to the side, waiting for you to continue and taking another huge bite from the dwindling pile of food between you. “Speaking of which, I actually was hoping to get some practice too…” you trail off. “I want to suck your cock.”

uni!bangchan definitely… struggles :’) he stays awake till 2-3am every night, either doing homework or procrastinating and making music. thank god his roommate basically lives with their partner, because u get to stay in his dorm with him during these early mornings, urging him to stay on task so he can sleep.

u guys met at the gym!!! u were trying to get back into exercising after the spring break and he saw u on the treadmill. literally hearts in his eyes. like the shy guy he is, he waited until u were almost out of the door before asking “do u go to the uni around here?”

let’s just say he was giggling and kicking his feet when u offered ur number to him <3

bang chan credits u for every completed assignment! he loves that u are so willing to help him, even if he is embarrassed to ask sometimes. (it goes like, “babe.. ugh i’m so sorry but what the fuck does he mean by this?”)

he will get u breakfast from the campus cafe before all of ur morning classes. he says it’s his job as a boyfriend, even if he only got four hours of sleep! (one time he slept in and got u lunch AND dinner to make up for it)

lee know is an interesting student to say the least. his electives are all “art 101” and “basket weaving” because those are the ‘easy’ classes (sadly, no college class is easy) though, surprisingly, he is very interested in his major classes! studious student.

his go-to look is glasses with a comfy hoodie and sweatpants. when u see him on campus u can’t help but stare. comfy bf material.

u guys always seemed to cross paths at the off campus grocery store! u happen to be picking up comfort snacks after crying ur eyes out due to stress :( he strolled down the same aisle as u, quickly recognizing the university hoodie u had on, staring longingly at what oreo flavor to choose with fresh tears in ur eyes.

“i like the java chip ones :)” after he saw ur tears, he bought them for u.

ur dates consist of: trudging along campus to classes together, movie nights with snacks in the oh so comfy twin sized dorm bed, and grocery store runs! he also loves to do sheet masks together! (just don’t tell anyone how soft he is for u)

studies come second to him. u come first <3

he is good with in-class work! whipping out assignments while the teacher is talking about the subject is light work for him. but homework… alone in his dorm…. his kryptonite. for some reason focusing is so hard in that situation!

when u first heard him speak in economics class, u didn’t expect him to be so sweet?? u sat a couple rows back, so good thing he couldn’t see ur constant staring. his smile, his biceps, his too-tight shirts, his everything.

group projects are ur guys’ weakness because you somehow always get put together. (not that u mind!) in ur third group project this semester, he bit the bullet and asked u out! he was so nervous that he made a whole google slide saying “will u go out with me?” he asked han to decorate it lol.

studying together is no easy task. ur talking about currency then suddenly in a sweet make out sesh! he said he couldn’t handle the “sweet” looks u were giving him.

my art student. what else would he major in?

you guys actually met in starbucks on campus! hyunjin tries to do essays in a cafe setting to “stay focused” (he really just wants to be aesthetic).

you work as a barista, and after taking his order, he couldn’t take his eyes off of u for the 2 hours he was there. he ended up sketching u instead of write his essay! shockingly, he was able to muster up the courage to at least ask ur major before he left (aka, rushed out and ran into the door).

you guys are the sickly sweet couple everyone sees on campus. u are always together!!! hyunjin wants nothing to separate ur hand from his >:(

of course, when he has freedom to choose for his big projects in his art classes, he always chooses something that reminds him of you. he doesn’t like painting portraits that much, so he will choose to paint ur favorite flowers, your first date scene, your hand holding his… yeah, he’s that type of boyfriend :’)

he despises his required classes, like english and math. he doesn’t understand it like he understands art, so he needs ur support!! please run ur fingers thru his hair when he’s whining about his weekly reading!

he loves ur relationship more than anything <3 he’s so happy he can spend his college years with u

oh boy. how do we even start this.

i think he tries his best. he really does! he doesn’t want to be one of the few in his class failing, but he just doesn’t really grip onto learning the required subjects like english.

this is how u two met! u work for the university as a tutor, and han was required tutoring for english or else he would get dropped from the class :( he showed up to the tutoring session in an empty lobby in the main campus building, and as soon as he laid eyes on u, he cursed himself. he was supposed to be learning, how can he do that when he has the prettiest person in front of him!! :’(

even outside of ur sessions u help him all the time! he appreciates ur help so much, and of course he doesn’t want his partner to have to help him with his work 24/7, but u don’t mind at all.

his schedule is chaotic. wake up, go to class, go by the convenience store to get both of u snacks, come back to UR dorm, nap in UR bed, wake up when u get back from classes, walk around campus together, get dinner in the dining hall, then fall asleep at HIS dorm.

he always praises himself for choosing to live in a quad with his own room and praises u for working for the university so u get ur own dorm. “it’s like we knew we were going to date!”

he always shows his love and appreciation. power college couple <3

felix has the time of his life in college. he loves being independent, doing something new, and just taking it all in.

that’s why he decided to be ambitious his freshman year; getting a job right away at the campus cafe, and also continuing his hobby of dance by taking a freestyle dance elective!

u were also taking the elective class to try and get more in to ur passion for dance. u never felt too confident in ur skills, so what better way to improve than in a class with others that were learning too!

when felix walked in the room the first day of class, looking all professional in his beanie, oversized sweatpants and a plain t-shirt, u were immediately attracted… but also intimidated!! he must be so good (>:d) u guys actually got put as partners for ice breakers, then a partner project, then a mid-term project, realizing how genuine and sweet he is!!

let’s just say,, things got a lil close for ur projects. flirting was a given around him and kissing, definitely happened.

and even though his excitement for college was a 100! his grades… struggled to reflect that :( like others, college is hard to grasp sometimes!! u continued to help him and remind him that everyone is having a hard time too <3

another sickly sweet couple. he just can’t pry himself away from u!

i kinda feel like seungmin is like,, the perfect fit for uni boyfriend? he just gives off those vibes to me so much. (yes i am seungmin biased haha)

does he have all 100% in his classes? yes! does he procrastinate? hell yes…..that’s all he does. to try and help his problem, he wants to study with u! he thinks that this will help him focus more bc silence is always comfortable between u two. but it just ends up him playing some game and u watching, messing him up every time he’s close to passing the level.

if you guys have an in-person class together, he wants needs to sit by u. he doesn’t find it right that u don’t want to sit next to ur own boyfriend. how dare u actually want to listen to ur professor instead of engage in snarky side conversation the whole time >:(

he loves walking around campus late at night. not like, 2am but more like 10pm lol (cuz besides staying up for hw, i feel seungmin is an avid sleeper). after ur night class, he will meet u by ur dorm building and walk around, hands linked the whole time. this is the time where he’s affectionate and loves to talk about ur relationship aww!! it’s conversation like “i remember the first time i held ur hand”, and “we should have another takeout homework date in the library soon”.

Being a musician, you always heard talk about having a muse but you never expected to be someone’s. You certainly had found your own in your longtime boyfriend, Ricky. When you love someone as much as you loved him, creating art with them in mind becomes second-nature. Little did you know that he felt the same way about you long before you met.

“Hey y/n, do you mind if we stop by my studio on the way home? I forgot my paint brushes there this afternoon and I need them for class tomorrow. It’ll be quick, I promise.” your blond-haired boyfriend says to you as he helps you get your coat on.

“Yeah, of course!” you respond with a smile. You secretly love going to his art studio. You’ve always loved seeing his art, seeing the things he can create with just a pencil, some paint and paintbrush. In the past 3 years you’ve been together, his talent has never ceased to amaze you.

“Thank you, y/n.” he says, giving you a kiss on the forehead. The familiar feeling of butterflies creeps up and makes you blush. In order to distract him from your rosy cheeks, you take hold of his hand and lead him out of the Thai restaurant you were regulars at. 

As always, he walks over with you to the driver side of the car he bought you for your first anniversary and opens the door for you. In an effort to make you laugh, he pretends to climb into the driver seat. He pats the covered passenger seat and without missing a beat, he says “Hop in, hot stuff, let me take you for a ride.” in the most Chad voice ever, finishing off the bit with a wink. You laugh and give him a small slap to the arm. Mission = success! 

Still laughing, you respond with “Okay Max Verstappen… you and what license?” As he climbs out of the car, he says something along the lines of “fair” and then offers you his hand to help you into the seat he had just occupied. Once he’s seated in his passenger princess throne, he queues up your go-to playlist and buckles up. You don’t need any directions since you know the route by heart. You can’t even count how many times you’ve driven these roads, bringing pick-up to his studio so you can keep him company on those inevitable late nights. 

You park in your usual spot and hop out. Just like the gentleman he is, Ricky is already at your side, ready to offer a hand for you to take and as always, you take it and walk with him into the studio. Once you walk in, Ricky departs to go find his missing items with a “I’ll be right back, love.” and you’re left by yourself and his art. Looking around, a sketchbook laying open on his desk catches your eye. At first, you don’t want to look but curiosity gets the best of you and you sneak a glance. It’s a sketch of you sitting on stage with your cello, deeply immersed in the piece you were playing but somehow you still look completely at peace.

You remember that day like it was yesterday. It was the spring talent show and your high school orchestra teacher had signed you up without you knowing. You found out a day after the deadline to drop out, so you were stuck doing it. The day of, your stage fright was so bad that you almost considered just not showing up, but something in the back of your mind told you that you had to go and so you did. When it was your turn, you walked nervously out onto stage with your cello in one hand and your sheet music in the other. Once seated, you looked out into the audience and made eye contact with a red-haired boy. He smiled at you and nodded, as if queuing you up to start. During the song, you would periodically glance over at him and he was always there with a smile and a look of encouragement. That red-haired boy not only turned out to be the boy you now call your boyfriend but also that was the day that you discovered your love for the cello. 

“Hey babe, what is this?” you called out to Ricky, who was now walking back towards you, paintbrushes in hand.

“Oh, this? Nothing, just my old sketchbook from high school. Why?”  

“Look at this. We didn’t even know each other then.” you say with a laugh. 

“I know. I just thought you looked beautiful while playing. And clearly, I like drawing beautiful things.” He gestures to the wall behind him that’s full of sketches and paintings clearly inspired by you. 

“Wait… when did you do this? I’ve never seen this before.”

“It was kind of supposed to be a surprise for your birthday but I forgot so … Surprise!” He sheepishly grins and attempts to do jazz hands.

All you can do is laugh and pull him in. You give him a kiss and look him in the eyes. 

“Thank you, sweet boy. It’s beautiful.”

You realize in this moment that you would give anything to be able to be his muse in every life.

onceler was hunched over his desk, surrounded by sketches and plans for his latest business venture. the weight of his past and the pressures of biggering were taking a toll on his mental health, evident in the weariness etched across his face.

sensing his struggle, you approached him with a gentle demeanor. "hey," you said softly, "mind if i sit down?"

onceler glanced up, his eyes reflecting a mix of anxiety and exhaustion. "sure, i guess," he replied, his guard visibly lowered.

taking a seat on his desk, you noticed the turmoil in his eyes. "you've been pushing yourself so hard," you said softly, your tone filled with empathy. "it's okay to take a break, you know?"

his gaze softened at your words. "i don't know how to take a break," he sighed, glancing away from you. "i feel like if i stop moving for even a second, everything’s gonna fall apart."

your expression softened with concern. "you don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, you know? you're just one person. it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to take care of yourself too."

he looked down for a moment before speaking again, his voice carrying a mix of vulnerability and sadness. "you don't understand. it's not just about success. it's about making her proud."

"her?" you inquired gently.

"yeah, my mom," he admitted, a distant look in his eyes. "she was never proud of me before. now, with the business and everything, she finally is. i need it to stay that way."

your heart sank at his words, poor thing just wanted to make his mama proud.

gathering your courage, you looked him in the eyes, determined to offer some clarity amidst his trouble. "the thing is," you began gently, "sometimes people have their own agendas. your mom... she might be using you, manipulating your need for approval to serve her-"

his eyes widened in disbelief, a mix of anger and confusion flashing across his face, he cut you off. "you don't understand," he retorted defensively, rising from his seat. "she's my mom. she wouldn't do that."

but as he stood there, the weight of his emotions crashing down on him, you saw the exhaustion in his eyes. "i know it's hard to see," you continued softly, trying to break through his defenses. "but sometimes, the people we trust the most can hurt us in ways we don't expect"

feeling overwhelmed, onceler walked over to his balcony, looking down as if searching for answers amidst the chaos of his thoughts. the scape below seemed distant, a reflection of the disconnect he felt from his own life and choices.

looking over the edge, he sighed to himself, his inner torment slowly draining away for a moment as he stared out at the vast expanse. but after a few seconds of quiet contemplation, another troubling thought dawned on him.

everything he'd hurt to get this far… the way he'd been blind to his own shortcomings, focusing only on his desire for recognition and success. suddenly, he felt a swell of regret and shame, a burning inside of him that made his stomach tighten.

you approached cautiously, giving him space but wanting to be there for him. "look," you began, keeping your tone straightforward, "i get it. family stuff is complicated. but you've got to think about what's best for you too."

his gaze settled on the horizon as he tried to absorb your words. "i don't know." he mumbled.

Hearing this makes me feel more at ease posting this kind of stuff honestly. I haven't been much involved in the shipping part of fandoms before and thought of them to be kinda scary ^^; I haven't had much interest in it anyway. Then nortalice happened hfgdjsfds

I know ships are very subjective, and they aren't everyone's cup of tea, which is totally fine! But I guess I was scared my art would no longer appeal to people. Nortalice is, if not a rare-pair, a ship that isn't very popular as far as I understand, which created another layer of insecurity to my content. Then I remembered that I'm on these platforms to have fun, and thus should create art that makes me happy. yes!! i dont have much but i do have a few sketches!! her design isnt final yet, ill have to see how i feel about it going forward... and find colors i like LMAO

her name is adeline, her mom signed her up for summer camp (genuinely simply just 'summer camp' camp) because ade was really struggling to find friends and make connections on her own, and her parents thought summer camp would help her learn those skills!! unfortunately lots of new people all at once is. very scary and the plan didnt work. BUT she did latch onto max almost immediately! now she hardly leaves his side and wont join activities unless he does as well. oh boy.

max' duties are a BIT all over the place! lots of busywork, lots of clean up, he 'volunteers' for kitchen duty frequently (he WILL serve these kids edible food or god help him), david wants him to plan his own camp activities real bad but max kinda. dodges this so far. he also often is available for the kids later at night since he sleeps real late. nets him the added bonus of getting to sleep til breakfast and not having to do the wake up round. does he sometimes use his night time privileges to sneak off and smoke at the lake? maybe.

oh! not really a responsibility, but! there are a few times him and gwen set aside for paperwork and all - max is trying to get emancipated from his parents at this point.

Work has been...the usual landslide of events once October starts xD;; It always gets so busy I'm like a ghost once I get home who just wants to dissociate while staring at the ceiling. I've been been listening to spooky games while at work. Silent Hill 2 remake was SO good and I'm lowkey dying I can't find the energy and time to draw something. Is this new Denny Lore? :D;; I very much love the Silent Hill games (1 to 4, the rest don't exist to me) and I'm so happy Konami did so well with this remake! They really made James have such a conflicted confused sad puppy look... which is very, so very fitting! And Maria? -chef kiss- the VA of everyone is way too good! I've inhaled every scene!!

The Suikoden remasters are looking great too and I can't wait to get it next year!! Are we entering the Konami redemption arc timeline!? If they announce Suikoden 3-5 remasters and Suiko 6 I may just have to pinch myself cause what a time to be alive...!!

Romancing SaGa 2 Remake is almost here!! Aaaaa! It ought to heal my aching soul from RS announcing EoS earlier this month :") .... I wanted to try Metaphor too but it's too close to RS2R so it has to wait a bit. Which reminds me, when RS2R is in my hands I may vanish off earth for a bit! It's not that I expect to find spoilers on a remake of a game which I've played, watched The Stage play of and absorbed all lore available of it in RS...but still xD; (I do hope I'm done with the FanFyria book ships by then aaaa) I may not be able to update my comic "The Snake, The Firebrand and The King of All" this month, cause as much as I'd love to, I promised my friends not to strain myself with work (else they will manifest into my walls and scold me!) and the workload and FanFyria book ship has taken a tow on me so far and my hands had started to give in ;n; ... I wish I was stronger ! But comic work is a journey, not a race! At least next chapter is sketched so the actual hard part is done. The line art/shading just takes time and many podcasts! (and free weekends xD)

rambling & thoughts abt this piece below the cut because i put a lot of thought into it

tbh my thoughts on this piece are properly expired because i did this MONTHS ago and its. its not as fresh as it used to be but here we go

so i made this thing ^ for twitter because obviously i cant ramble there but the whole gist of it is there from the beta designs and everything, but something i didn't include in the picture above is my struggle with deciding what color the dress should be because i don't make thumbnails/colored sketch before like getting into lineart and coloring

okay pic above is the options i had for deciding the color (ended up doing the one on the second pic, second from the left) it's a bit fun to revisit because this pic took 11 hours or so ibispaint says okay wait time to properly get rambling

i. unexpectedly put a lot of effort and thought behind this piece considering that its probably my first ever proper serious twst artwork...??? and its an open collab too so you cant not expect me to tryhard a little www but anyway. i do wish i could have done more but im impatient and i want to get this finished asap with how busy i already was with other stuff so as a result i didnt put much though in the backgrounds and just balled it but yknow what. its okay i like the end result, its nice to see and im glad to see that people like it too!! about the beta designs; im genuinely a big fan of like some of them but i knew it was going to be a pretty detailed (and draining) piece so i decided for something simple :] i did regret not putting any accessories in vil's hair though :( it completely slipped my mind until i was like .... halfway? through shading ANYWAY. i think that should be all? idk my thoughts are no longer fresh anyway so i dont have much to say now compared to back then but if you read this thank u . i put a lot of love and effort in what i do and i hope it shows through my art. hopefully i can draw more twst soon !!

that art is awesome i love the lighting in the first one and the framing of the last one is so interesting it really shows just how invasive the press and the outside world all is i also love the posing of the second one and its just. they cant get away from it. from the pressure and the anxiety and the news and all those opinions

each step in the art is a deterioration of grians situation in that au idk i think its interesting that these are the pics you were inspired to make theyre so good i love your art

and yeah it is darker in some ways than hhau, because it deals so heavily with active suicidal impulses and its a different type of dark. hhau is so focused on the fear and desperation and trying to escape, where as the ari au feels like pressure bearing down on grian and a lack of way out.

its just........... hard

grians stuck in a really hard place and i get why she cant find a way out for herself because it would likely require starting over completely and even that might not get them away from the public and that would require him to fully give up on something that brought him so much joy even if it also brought pain and anxiety.

anyway my most coherent expression of my thoughts and feelings about ari au consists of this:

i picked those scenes because ben suggested i draw a sort of 'then' vs 'now' comparison, and i thought of doing it from the perspective of photos the press could get. i have one more sketch tucked away that is a private moment of scar and grian that i might draw one day. we'll see.

and yeah. yeah, they absolutely cannot get away from it, from the scrutiny, the pressure, the sense of privacy absolutely crumbling into something non-existent. together with the sense of self outside of all of these expectations and being constantly observed, every action or word an opportunity to be misinterpreted without anyone asking them what the truth is. (they don't have a voice here; they're just there to provide drama and entertainment. to be consumed. their consent in this does not matter.)

the press and the stalkers and (some of) the fans don't care about grian as a person. grian—ari—is an idea, an idol. they craft her to be perfect in their eyes (something nobody can live up to and remain seen as a human being), only to decide they then need to tear down and decimate that perfection.

it's just so harrowing and horrible.

you know, grian started with a dream. he just wanted to sing and have fun and be seen. (not like this. not like this.)

i think ari au is so dark not only because of the topics, but also because it feels so real? hhau has hybrids and different world, wings and magic and whatnot. but this? this has none of that. this is set into a real world, and they're just normal human beings, struggling. and there's no easy solution or a way out.

Yeah, it's mine! Probably should've specified in the post LOL. IIRC that particular painting was inspired at least vibe-wise by the arctic spires and crystal cave biomes from subnautica below zero because I was obsessed with it during quarantine- I started sketching in class and then it turned out a lot better than I expected and I had to finish it instead of paying attention to the professor, it's still one of my favorite paintings I've done even 2 years later I'm really proud of it :3c

And like, 8 years is a long time, sure, and I'm not saying I didn't put a lot of dedicated work in to be able to make art like that, but those 8 years will pass anyway.

If you just type words into an AI art generator, those 8 years will pass and you will still not know how to draw.

If you start doodling crappy anime wolves in your spare time now, in 8 years you'll be, at minimum, pretty good at drawing anime wolves, which is better than not being good at drawing anime wolves. And even if you're still not good at drawing anime wolves, at least u had fun. So if you're reading this, this is your sign from God to start drawing furries poorly

i’ve been thinking about iphigenia moss today!! i haven’t come up with much on how i see her (other than she’s for sure an indie girlie) so i was wondering if you had any thoughts??

oo yes i do have some iphigenia thoughts!! (most of these will be solarmoss, be warned)

here are some:

- they are nonbinary and use they/she pronouns

- around dennis and to some extent other friends, they act like their true self and don't have to pretend to be more social or outgoing to fit in (in truth, they hate the limelight that the capitol puts on the kids)

- she is genuinely a very creative person, who likes making art (sewing, sketching, they want to be a fashion designer)

- she has to put that aside though because their parents want them to run the food industry like they did

- they were very studious growing up and pushed herself very hard but eventually got burnt out

- as a result of that they always have to pretend they're fine and act like she has everything under control which only further burns her out

- their relationship with her father is very strained, so that's when she turns to not eating as an act of defiance

- only it backfired and turns into something that they can't stop doing, and she becomes obsessed with their body image because of the capitols expectations

- the only "real friend" they have is dennis, and they talk to eachother about everything

- her and livia are family friends, they aren't that close but speak occasionally

- she doesn't like coriolanus tho

- never really realised she was a lesbian because of what was expected of her from her family - it was very "marry a man that we want you to marry" sort of thing (this is inspired by til death do us part by saffronfields023, i love this fic sm)

- when iphigenia first meets sol, they realise how authentic they're being and how she doesn't have to lie to get sol to like her

- she loves sol's smile

- she feels much better when she's around sol, they start eating more and not forcing themself to do things they don't want to

- she really feels like sol is the first person they have ever met (aside from dennis, but i mean this in a romantic way, which she doesn't have w dennis) that truly loves her for her

- this all ends, of course, when sol dies. iphigenia puts her walls back up and lies to lepidus about sol, saying that she didn't even know her name ("sal or something") because they were that depressed after sol's death

that's all i have for now, sorry to end it on a sad one 😭
