found a spot in breath of the wild where there's no water collision just consistently in that one spot
#i was like Oh did i get a no water collision glitch? can i fuck around on the floor of a lake??#no its Just That One Spot. if i leave it i pop back up to the surface of the water

man for some reason specifically my psychonauts 2 fucked up and the boss in compton’s cookoff won’t take any damage at all in its third and final phase and i’m sad gxjsbc i’ve been waiting for what feels like forever to play this game and now i can’t progress ;v;
been talking to my partner about the game and apparently i’m just a cursed little glitch magnet, like
the day before i opened the new game when i was playing the first one i got stuck in some geometry and ended up in a loop of grabbing and being forced to let go of a ledge constantly, made a terrible noise and had to close the game
hit the water so hard i clipped through the “oh that surface is water you can’t do that” check and got stuck in the geometry between some rocks underneath it, had to close the game
in hollis’ hot streak i got stuck between two slot machines and a stool and couldn’t get out no matter what i did, didn’t have the smelling salts yet so i had to close the game
in compton’s cookoff the rag doll arms got stuck on geometry and stretched to insane lengths before snapping back during the boss fight
compton’s cookoff again, for some reason a ball of black noodly limbs just showed up hovering in mid-air just above the center of the stage, again during the boss fight
the no damage issue mentioned previously that’s kinda stopped my progress in its tracks
in psi king’s sensorium i was beating up a trash can and for some reason got clipped through the ground in a place where there was no kill plane, so i fell through the void and past the sky box, then landed on top of some collision in the sky of a different part of the stage. walked around a bit up there and took some screenshots just for fun, fell off again into a void with no kill plane and nothing beneath it, had to exit the level and come back
in the questionable area i was gliding in a horizontal wind tunnel and it like… got really choppy all of a sudden, kept teleporting me back to the beginning of the wind tunnel, then eventually shot me out the end of it at insane speeds, making a terrible noise the entire time
i think that’s all i encountered so far but meanwhile my partner has experienced little to no problems chscbj i think i’m protecting them from glitch hell

Here are the last 7 minutes of my out of bounds adventures along the western Cleigne beach last night. You can see where it goes from heavily detailed to... very much not, and also it’s somewhere between lovely and eerie the whole way through, so here’s a thing. Skip to 6:28 if you want to see my glide straight into a spectacular game crash complete with extra EXP and AP.
Now if you want to hear of my grand adventure and see a whole fucking lot of screen shots, they’re under the cut. Keep in mind that someone else must have done this already, I’m sure I found nothing new or terribly interesting to anyone but myself; there’s no ROM needed, no 16 special plug-ins for an emulator, no esoteric bullshit. Anyone can do everything I’m doing. And please do, because I’d love to see it. There’s a lot left to explore.
So, uh. I didn’t actually plan to do this. Which is why there are only screen shots (and video) from after I got to Cape Shawe. I’d just sort of wanted to meander out across the water... and I went really damn far and decided why the hell not, I’ll grab some video with no end goal in mind and screen shot that. Sadly I wound up not documenting several “error panels/things” which appear on the minimap (you’ll see one near the end of the video), and did ultimately get proof that they are safe to be on. ...Not necessarily to get off of, though.
Anyway. I used the Galdin Shoal OOB glitch, only instead of waiting five minutes for everything to align properly, I lead my chocobo down little by little to the sandy beach where I could just step in the water and get on because aggravation, no. And my boys got to go with me! ...At first. ..........Actually I really wish I’d documented that bit, because when night descended, they slowly fell behind and disappeared one by one until I was alone. Which was actually far sadder and more creepy than my laughter suggests, but anyway. Watching the weather patterns over the water is... surprisingly nice. And there are a number of beautiful beaches in this game, though a hell of a lot more invisible walls than should be possible.
But then I had to go ALL THE FREAKING WAY TO CAPE SHAWE (beneath Malmalam Thicket; check the game map).
Already gorgeous. But there was a molasses quality to the water here, and getting out took... some time.
It’s a good ways from Cape Caem. Anyway, I turned and headed for the mountain range. Like you do.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect since I was relegated to the beach for a while due to an invisible wall, but once I got up on the mountain... it was solid. Full collision, decently detailed.
Also I am here.
Also it is beautiful here.
Waterrrrrr.
But, onward! To the volcano! Which looks... really weird with these low poly minimal textures.
I only realized I’d walked across a seam line after doing so. Pretty much from here on out, I assumed I’d be falling through everything. I was semi-wrong.
Er, right here, by the way. Which makes me question if it’s a “true geometry seam line” or an extremely sharp mountain top. Why not both.
At that point I headed toward Malmalam. This is the invisible wall I hit. Well, damn.
But ooohhh, more lovely places.
And another fucking invisible wall.
So I started climbing Ravatogh.
And stopped to take in the view.
I made it this far!
Before collision stopped and I fell. So I decided to go straight through Ravatogh.
Also it was purdy.
I did, for one fraction of a second, think about stopping at Pitioss to prove you don’t need the Type-F. Then said fuck it and kept going up the coast.
Glad I did.
And right about here, that’s when things start falling apart. Textures and solid ground cease to make sense, as you can see in the video.
And this, over on the top right minimap, is the error... thing. Something. Apparently it’s just a grid with “error” written in English and Japanese. So, I... followed it.
Took a flying leap, for science...
Fuck fuck fuck.
We can make it! FLAP, STELLA!
...Oh.
Welp.
The game then crashed back to a “would you like to report this error?” screen and I. Said no. I kind of knew why it crashed.
...I did it.
...I’m sorry, Stella.
