Look, look, look. All I'm saying is, we needed more of that same energy from Origins and 2 when the protag had opportunities to have a threesome (and potential foursome in Origins). I'm not even gonna look at Inquisition because as much as I love that game, a lot of the mature content felt kind of watered-down(?) in comparison to the two previous games. Anyways, all of this to say that the option should have definitely been there with Anders, Nathaniel, and Hawke.

Mia Dearden is not stupid.

She knows things.

She knows how to read people.

Right now, she wishes she couldn’t.

Connor is looking at her with an open expression that couldn’t be described as anything other than brotherly.

“I don’t know.” Mia said. She told Connor that she needed to tell him something but she’s freezing.

“Okay.” Connor said. Like what Mia is doing makes any sense.

He makes a move to give her space but she grabs his arm. He raised an eyebrow but sat back down.

“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking.” And that’s true. “I don’t…I think…” Mia sighed. She’s usually more sure of herself but it’s hard to take these words back. “My whole life, I’ve been waiting. Waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for the next person who feels bad for me to drop me, waiting for the one guy who would make it all better.” Connor offered his hand to hold but didn’t grab hers. An offer and not an insult, if rejected. Which Mia did. She feels bad but she doesn’t want to be touched right now.

“There’s no one guy. There’s no guy. I don’t like them and I know. I know what happened to me but…it’s more than that.” Way more. “I’m a…” She looked into Connor’s dark brown eyes, darker than her own, and said a word she’s been holding with her breath. “lesbian.”

Connor broke out into a wide grin. “That couldn’t have been easy. I know. I’m proud of you.”

“Thanks.” Mia said, a little awkward.

“There’s more?” Stupid Connor. Stupid, wonderful Connor.

“I don’t know.” Mia repeats. “I don’t know if I’m doing it right.”

“It?”

“This!” Mia answered. “I mean. I didn’t know until a month ago. Everyone online seemed to have known from the beginning.” She sighed. “What if I’m wrong?”

“Mia.” Connor said firmly. “Are you living?”

What?

“Uh—“

“Living, not surviving. Living.” Connor clears up.

“Yes.” She said with no hesitation. She’s happy. She’s home.

“Then you’re doing it right. Listen, there’s no one way to be anything. Lesbian, survivor, woman, person. You just have to be yourself. And besides, I didn’t know about myself until recently and I’m older than you.”

“Yeah.” Mia agreed. Then because she’s his sister, she said, “Way older.”

Connor frowns but she can see his eyes are still smiling. “You’re a brat.”

Mia laughed.

A best of silence passed.

“Thanks.” Mia said.

“Anytime.” Connor answered.

I still suck at drawing people so I just turned him into a straight up bird 😂 but this has literally been my brain lately.

See because I enjoy making things Worse, my interpretation of Justice's issue with Handers in light of his romantic aspirations in Awakening isn't that Justice truly thinks romance itself is a distraction, but that he's jealous of Hawke. 🙃
