silk; what outfit makes you feel confident? A pretty dress usually ups the confidence level but I can also feel great in a pair of jeans that hug my curves and a tank top. Ooh, also lingerie! Nothing says confidence like a lace chemise or corset and garter belt.

rose; favorite flower? Lilies, sunflowers, and daisies. And cherry blossoms.

sun; favorite season Autumn, but Spring is a close second.

infatuation; first crush? Oh, can I even remember the first crush? I'm pretty sure it was in elementary school, I don't even remember the kids name, but I remember he was funny and made me laugh.

dream; how long do you sleep on average? hahahahahaha. Oh, is this a serious question??? I get a few hours whenever my eyes refuse to stay open any longer. 

brilliant; what celebrity do people say you look like? Um, no one has ever really said I look like a celebrity.

fleece; have any pets? A little scrapper kitten, who is as adorable as he is mean.

pigment; what color is your hair naturally? if you could dye it any color which one would you choose? Naturally dark brown. I've had my hair a ton of different colors. I really like a dark red or purple.

charcoal; do you have a good relationship with your parents? Its always been kind of complicated as both my parents have issues with substance abuse, but I was really close with my mom before she passed. I don't have a bad relationship with my dad currently but he's not a reliable person and not someone I turn to during times of need. He is great for helping with some bigger home related projects when he's around.

ocean; do you take a yearly vacation? I've been trying to make it a tradition to go somewhere once a year, and the last couple years I've made it happen. 

murky; biggest fear? Something devastating happening to any of the kids. Death in general, even knowing it's an inevitable part of life.

lingerie; what do you wear to bed? Depends on the night, but typically very little, tank and panties.

okay so literally in QoS they communicate basically entirely in silence, like they’re the only people in a crowded room, especially at arobynn’s party they are basically flirting without anyone knowing because at the time things are basically all platonic to everyone else. no one knows that they’re growing feelings or having secret conversations.

this is EoS and KoA energy-- the claiming marks, and the tattoos that rowan gives aelin. ALSO the choice of the color golden screams rowaelin because as we know thats the nightgowns color and i feel like it comes up a lot when describing aelin-- golden eyes, hair etc.

QoS is almost entirely sexual tension so i think this is very self explanatory. they were both holding back the way they felt about each other when they both clearly wanted something more. this gives me vibes of rowan needing to cool down from aelin’s presence and taking forever to fall asleep with her so near yet so far away.

um please so several points-- 1.) rowan is the first person that starts calling celaena by her real name, aelin ( if i remember correctly i don’t think he really ever calls her celeana?? only aelin and she gets mad, but i may be wrong bc it has been a while since i’ve read HoF) he makes her comfortable with her real identity and helped her come to terms with who she was and her name. 2.) fireheart. that’s it. it’s who she was to her family and its who she is now to rowan. ALSO “i don’t want you like a best friend” their relationship goes from basically entirely platonic in HoF to something more in the late books. in QoS, it took them forever to get together bc they had to break through the past definition of their relationship which was strictly friends, carranam, and fighting partners. but they obviously wanted more, and started feeling more comfortable with their past trauma and relationship baggage to face that.

ALRIGHT HERES THE KICKER. so this is obviously referring to the golden nightgown that rowan requests. i KNOW that he technically doesn't even take it off her and they don’t go there but she literally only bought it for him bc he said he would love that color. in conclusion it still counts and the sexual tension was there so.

SO i feel like they both know that they are inevitable and i think it kinda ties into the idea of the mating bond being something that you can’t break or avoid. they subconsciously knew that being apart would not work. AND we have a reference to aelin’s fire... she might burn too brightly, but at least she burned.

HAHA we have a little reference to aelin bathing rowan and washing his hair in that one scene. tbh this doesn’t really fit that well but it’s not too out of place-- i also may not be thinking of anything bc i havent re read them in a while. anyways, we also have another moment where rowan and aelin are kind of keeping what is blooming between them a secret from the rest of aelin’s court.

their haircuts at the beginning of QoS... rowan cut his long ass hair and aelin had to dye her hair red to go undercover and not get caught... WHY DOES IT WORK SO WELL I--

in HoF aelin was at the lowest point of her life. even though he was closed off was dealing with his own baggage, he saw the power aelin held. the light that had been snuffed out inside of her. he pushed her because he knew what she was capable of. and i forgot who said this, but rowan was never afraid of aelin the way chaol was. he saw every part of her and loved all of it.

rebounds??? *cough cough* CHAOL AND DORIAN *cough* okay but for real these weren’t really mistakes but she had made plenty of other mistakes around that time. he helped set her on a better and clearer path. and i guess we could technically consider chaol a rebound...

her keeping the mating bond from him? her keeping so many of her plans a secret? her pretending she’s okay and KoA and him seeing right through her? yea <3

I think around nehemias death she was kind of in a trance where she felt like nothing mattered and her life was useless (the whole “i do not care” scene where she was lashing out is a good example), but he helped her out of that. she has that one quote that im gonna paraphrase about how he held her hand and walked back into the light with her. He essentially woke her up from the nightmare she was living and now she wakes up next to him. this literally also happens in HoF because he starts letting her sleep in his bed, which was a huge step in the right direction for their relationship. he started seeing her as a friend and he literally falls asleep with his hand over her heart bye.

mates are truly each others one and only and i think it’s beautiful that she says “lifeline” because that’s literally what it is to them. they are stronger together and even the forces of their existence are tied together <3

Vladimir is that one kid obsessed with Twilight but only for the vampires; it was his first ever exposure to vampires thanks to his dad thinking Twilight was an appropriate book for a 11 year old. Team Edward going strong for five years, he'd proudly declare like it actually mattered. He tries his best to dress goth at school even though his uniform gets in the way. Fake ear piercings(his parents won't let him pierce them yet), over the top makeup, he's dyed the top half of his shoes black because his parents were concerned about his obsession with black and wouldn't buy him the black tennies he wanted— "mom look, these are marked down for back to school! Can I pleeeease get them???" "....may I know why the black ones specifically?" "They match the ever nothingness of my soul." "Yep! The white ones it is then!" "Mooooooooooom!"— Vladimir has been dubbed the cringy vampire kid of course.

Lukas is into pretty much anything concerning cryptids and magical creatures because they can't be proven to be fake or real, which intrigues him. He carries a book about mushrooms at all times and info dumps on pretty much anyone about identifying poisonous mushrooms and which mushrooms are safe to eat. His backpack is covered in buttons and pins to show off his interests. He keeps an amethyst in the front pocket of his backpack, reason unknown other than to just randomly pull it out and let Mikkel look at it. He's that kid that always wears his hoodie no matter the season, he never takes it off. Under his hoodie is always a crude worded t-shirt that the school would not approve of, much less his parents. He's relatively quiet and because he's quiet he's considered a weird kid.

Arthur can't decide if punk is his style or if goth is. Either way, his way of self expression at school in addition to the uniform is horrible. Checkered black/red shoes his grandma got him with his older brother's hand me down worn out greying socks—"can I PLEASE just have my own clothes???" "we have perfectly good clothes for you in the garage! I can fix them up to fit you better and everything!" "but I want cool NEW clothes!" "those are cool clothes and as far as the other kids know, they're also new. Now get your transformer backpack and get to the car. I put a new patch on it last night so that should hold it for the rest of the year."— Old Pierce the veil shirt, with holes chewed into the collar from his older brother Dillan, peeking out from under his white polo. A black and red choker to match his black and red slowly tearing apart too big flannel on top of a black pull over. A deep blue beanie, the hoodie of his pull over almost constantly on top when outside the school. He dyes a part of his hair a different color every month. He spikes his hair using too much gel and is convinced he looks good. He talks too much about bands and always gets Vlad and Lukas going on and on about fictional creatures he does not FULLY believe in himself. He does, however, believe in magic and loves Harry Potter, more specifically the Weaselys, to bits.

Natalya is a sophomore, a year behind the boys, and she just kinda pushed her way into the friend group until they eventually accepted her into it. They were the only three she knew who liked occult related topics. She's on the baseball team because she wanted an excuse to hit things with another thing and NOT get detention because of it. She wears the khaki uniform skirt and takes full advantage over being able to wear any kind of tights underneath; skull pattern, plain black, blood splatter pattern, fire pattern. Anything that makes her feel like a badass. She's always talking about antiques and forging weapons, more specifically knives. She has a whole collection of fidget toys but her favorite is this pea pod keychain her father gave her. She's always talking about how she'd like to be a medical examiner and to just prove that she's serious, she'll bring up a picture of a human model and point out the difference between a self inflicted fatal wound and a homicide. She puts up a charade of being able to see and talk to ghosts to freak out Alfred, her extended friend first met through Tolys.

They collectively believe they're cool and that other people know this. They're genuinely blind to the obvious snickers sent their way, being called losers and nerds. They're really knowm for like really pathetic things like; Natalya is Ivan's, tallest and most intimidating member of the wrestling team, weird younger sister by a year. Lukas is just the weird quiet kid that reads by the courtyard garden during lunch. Vladimir is not only the vampire goth kid but the kid who's parents believe the teachers are giving his son low grades on purpose and will yell at them for it. And Arthur is just. He's another Kirkland, immediately assumed to be a massive trouble maker because of his now graduated brother Alistair and one grade above him brother Dillan. Everyone loved his eldest brother Darick and sometimes compare him to Darick.

Compared to what others THINK they do, such as witch craft for some odd reason, the four of them do pretty typical teen activities. Like hang out at the mall. Do their honework together. Play video games and D&D when they have the chance. The boys do have sleepovers still as they have since meeting each other in middle school, Nat not really being a fan of sleeping where she doesn't live but comfortable enough to go to their houses and just chill for the day. They have become friends because of their related interests but thats not what they're ALL ABOUT.

Fun facts/stories about these losers I thought about while bored as fuck:

• Lukas, in his freshman year, went on a nature hike field trip with his lit class after reading Into The Wild. And he brought his mushroom book of course. They walked around, looking at the sights, talked about the book. Lukas just stops at one point, falling behind the class. He picks up a mushroom, goes to the teacher and is like "You see this? Its not poisonous." And straight up fucking eats it without warning. The teacher called an ambulance even though Lukas kept telling him he was fine and that that mushroom was 100% okay to eat raw, but for sure better off cooked. Lukas calmly shows the paramedics his book and they're like "yeah that actually was safe to eat, we don't need the book to confirm that, but um. Please don't ever pick something off the ground and eat it again. Just. Please don't do that, son." .....he did it again before leaving to go back to school but this time he didn't tell anyone.

• In elementary school, Natalya brought in a model of the human brain she asked her dad to borrow. He had to say yes because she was his only child genuinely interested, not bored of, his medical profession and he found it very cute and honoring. So she's at show and tell, its her turn right, and she silently goes up to the front of the class and pulls out the model brain. Teacher tries to step in because, hey, these are 6 year olds—AND WHY DOES THIS 6 YEAR OLD HAVE A PLASTIC BRAIN??? But Nat just shooshes her. In surprised shock, the teacher is just quiet as Nat begins to explain parts of the brain and their function— which was all wrong actually. She knew the words and everything but she didn't get the locations right. She sounded confident and smart and she was telling this to a bunch of 6 year olds so they believed her of course. End of the school day, her dad is having a hilarious conference with his youngest's teacher about the brain incident.

• Vladimir loves reading. He's loved it since he began to learn how, even if his dyslexia gives him grief along the way. So since he loves to read he'll always get excited and read ahead in class or in the public library reading club. One summer, the reading club was reading The Giver and it was getting really good. Vlad was loving the story, so much so that Vlad began to read ahead in his own time when he really wasn't supposed to be, the club was reading it together out loud and discussing it. Now he's read enough and worked hard enough to figure out how to help himself focus better and understand each word and sentence without having to reread it all multiple times over or get stuck. But sometimes the meaning and context to what he's reading doesn't ALWAYS process with the words as he's too focused on reading the words right and it passes right over his head. So Vlad is reading ahead and he's getting to the part where The Giver has given Jonas the memory of the sled again. And Vlad just sits there after reading that paragraph. He rereads it. And rereads it again. And then he leaves his book on his bed, goes to the the hall closet and takes out the ironing board. He grabs a plastic container to use as an ill attempt of a helmet and he just. Rockets down the staircase and hits the wall. He screams and cries and his parents rush in from the livingroom. When asked what happened he just says "I wanted to understand the sled scene better! Now I do and I feel really bad for Jonas!" He just couldn't quite grasp WHY the sled accident hurt, never had a broken bone nor sled afterall, and needed to find out. And that's how Vlad got his first broken arm at the age of 12.

• When Alfred and Matthew moved in with Arthur's family, Arthur didn't like it. He was a moody young teen but he was also just tired of the full house. His cousins were loud and nosey. He had to share a room with his four older brothers already and now with Matthew while Kathleen and Alfred got a room to themselves. Arthur thought this was so unfair. So his solution was to run away. He was 13, he needed a place to have some peace and quiet for once. So he texts Francis and Lukas, the only two of his friends living in his neighnorhood. Francis is not on board with helping him run away at first but then Lukas brings literally all his camping gear for Arthur's use and then Francis is on board because he had the feeling Arthur was going to get himself killed somehow. So as the elder one of the group he accompanied Arthur and Lukas out to the short stretch of woods behind the last street of their neighborhood, intending to go to the big clearing before hitting the roads leading to the airport and whatever else buildings. They're out there setting everything up together and they're done by like 4 pm. They sit down and talk, munch on oreos and other snacks Arthur deemed as essential survival foods. Then Francis looks at his cell and remarks "wow its already 6! Ah, Lukas, we should get home. Afterall, neither of us ran away so we still have supper to eat. Come on Lukas, let's go before our parents come looking for us." They exchange goodbyes, Francis trying his best to hide his cocky smirk. So Lukas and Francis start walking off, Arthur crawls into the tent and eats half a cookie before frowning and feeling too alone. He didn't expect to feel alone because all he wanted was to BE ALONE. Before he knows it, he's running out of the tent yelling after his friends to stop and wait up. "Oh whats wrong, Arthur? I thought you wanted to run away." "I— I forgot I hadn't fed my rabbit is all! I'll run away tomorrow! I'm not... Feeling lonely if.. If that's what you think...." Arthur did not run away the next day. Buuuuuut the three plus Vlad made a tree house together in the Kirkland backyard that they still use today!

Nathalie’s Contingency Plan

Adrien was not to be placed in danger at all during the attacks

Gabriel was not to akumatized Carmine Regal, Lloyd Cheveler, Blaine Bishop or Thistle Castle.

If in the VERY unlikely condition one of them got caught by the police, they would not reveal the identity of the other.

However, Nathalie finds herself regretting saving Gabriel’s sorry ass during Hero’s Day. The only reason she did so was so that Adrien wouldn’t be without a parent, and she didn’t want anyone thinking he had anything to do with this… Also, after the events of Adrien’s Driver getting akumatized AND her best friend being turned into Royal Harmine? Yeah, Nathalie decides she needs to start with her own personal ‘project’, and she will need all of her friends help for it.

The first part of Nathalie’s plan was fairly simple, it involved her visiting her friend Lloyd at his office during their lunch hour, which Lloyd had found somewhat suspicious but didn’t comment on it… Directly anyway. The prosecutor had been picked up at his office and brought out to a nice small restaurant to have lunch when he finally brought up the question to his dark haired friend.

“So, why did you invite me out of the blue?” he asked, looking at his bispecled friend.

Nathalie looked back at him blankly, taking a bite of her sandwich “I can’t invite my friends to lunch?”

“You can, you just usually do it two weeks in advance, not two hours.” Lloyd stated, eyebrow raised “... whats up?”

Nathalie stayed silent for several moments, placing the sandwich down. “... Carmine was akumatized…” she said softly.

Lloyd’s eyes widened in understanding, as he nodded. It wasn’t exactly a secret among their group of friends about Nathalie’s feelings for Carmine, except maybe for Carmine. Blaine once commented that he wanted to pull his hair out in frustration at the ‘slow burn romance’ that was happening and on numerous occasions had threatened to toss the both of them into a closet to ‘work things out’.

“She was… we stayed with her all weekend though and she seems okay.”

“Still, she shouldn’t have been…” Nathalie stated darkly “And she almost defeated Chat Noir and Ladybug…”

“To be fair.” Lloyd stated “Carmine could probably take them on without being akumatized. You’ve seen how hard she hits with a staff.”

Nathalie said nothing because it didn’t need confirmation. Carmine could be extremely deadly with a staff when needed, she even carried around a collapsable one in her bag if she ever needed it. “Still… it makes you think.”

“That no one is safe from the madman, agreed.” Lloyd said, taking another sip of his glass of cold water. “I can’t tell you HOW many people are suing him right now for mental and emotional injuries…” Lloyd stated sighing loudly. “It’s a mountain of paperwork right now against a man we don’t even have a name for, better hope this man is rich or he will be in debt for the next thirteen life times, if all of his property isn’t sold off first.”

Nathalie perked up slightly, looking at him “Really? What about if he is co-owner of a business or a trust-fund kid, would that be seized too?” she asked curiously.

Lloyd let out a soft hum, glancing up in thought “Well… if he was co-owner of a company, and we successfully sued him, than he would need to sell his shares of the company. If he was the OWNER of the company it would be the same, all of his shares would be used to pay it off. His trust fund, if he had one, would be used as well. After ALL of that, than he go to jail for a very, very long time.”

Nathalie nodded “I imagine if he has any family, they would be obligated to help as well…” she said off handedly, taking a sip of her drink.

“No, not really.” Lloyd started with a shrug, “I mean, a FAMILY obligation maybe, but not a law-abiding one. No, if I was the family lawyer, I would advise them to not have any contact with Hawkmoth at all, and plead ignorance to the fact, even if they DID know something.”

Nathalie raised a brow “Why? Shouldn’t they all go down?” she asked critically “For all we know, if Hawkmoth has a family, they could all be in on it. Possibly even helping CAUSE akumas.”

“Ouch, thats harsh Nathalie…” Lloyd stated, looking at his friend “... Look, your not wrong, and I realise that Hawkmoth has some kind of partner or associate, um, whats her name, the bird lady.” he said, looking at Nathalie who gave a slight shrug at the question, not appearing to know the answer, to which Lloyd just waved it off “Anyways, we haven’t seen her often, so she may just be another Akuma, in which case she can’t be held responsible for her actions. Heck, for all we know, she could be blackmailed or coercioused into doing this by Hawkmoth. Carmine mentioned that she never seemed thrilled or ‘into it’ whenever she fought alongside an akuma.”

Nathalie looked surprised at the off-handed comment “I hadn’t realised Carmine was that up close and personal to the akuma fights.” she inquired, eyebrow raised.

“‘Close and personal’ might be a stretch. I think most of its from either the Ladyblog or what the victims tell her.” Lloyd said evenly, shrugging one shoulder as he took another sip of his water.

Nathalie let out a soft hum, than perked up slightly seeming to remember something “Oh, I know we are back-tracking somewhat, but do you mind if I borrow some books of yours? I need to look some things up…”

Two days later, Nathalie regreted her decision on going out partying with Thistle at the club. She was in her 30’s, why did she go out and drink that much?

The dark haired woman let out a low groan as she slowly opened her eyes as she looked at the nightstand in front of her. Even without her glasses on, she could see the framed photo of Thistle with their parents in front of a house, all three of them in work clothes and tool boxes. The photo had been taken when Thistle was still in high school, before Thistle began to dye their hair the bright pink it is now.

“She lives!” Nathalie heard a voice beside her say much to loudly, causing Nathalie’s head to ache. She turned over on her side and saw Thistle sitting there on the bed, cross-legged, quickly typing away on a laptop. Thistle was wearing a pair of black boxers and a white tank top as pajamas, when Nathalie looked for the usual button that Thistle wore to tell the world what gender they were representing but saw none.

Thistle as if sensing this, simply stated “He/him, how are you feeling?”

“Like shit.” Nathalie stated truthfully, closing her eyes. She then realised that all she felt were the sheets on her body… “Oh god, tell me we didn’t-”

“No, we did nothing.” Thistle told her, smirking “You got ‘too hot’ and insisted to sleep in the buff… Also, you threw up on your shirt. I washed it, it’s in the dryer now.”

“... I drank til I puked?” Nathalie asked confused, looking at Thistle with a bewildered expression.

“Oh, no. You ate something that didn’t agree with you.” he said, continuing to type. “But man, you and I haven’t gone out drinking just the two of us in a dogs age! What brought this on?”

Nathalie rolled her eyes, sitting up as she pulled the blankets close to her chest “Work has been killing me. Fashion week is happening again soon, and I can’t get a moment free to myself, I needed to just… be wild I guess.”

“And you thought of me for that? Awww.” Thistle said, smiling widely “And I even got to cuddle you too!”

Nathalie rolled her eyes, rubbing her eyes “Shut up…”

“You wouldn’t be saying that if I was Carmine~” Thistle sang, not hiding his smirk as he noted the blush that spread across Nathalie’s face. She grabbed the pillow that she had been holding and whacked him across the face.

“Shut up!”

“Oh come on, don’t be like that!” Thistle said, grinning widely “I’m only teasing! You know my one goal in life is to make you blush with a pick-up line.”

“It’s too early for teasing…” Nathalie groaned, falling back on the bed, looking back at the photograph on Thistle’s nightstand. “... Hey, Thistle?”

“Yes Nathalie?” he said, still typing away on his laptop.

“Can I have your parents phone number?”

Nathalie knew she needed Blaine’s help as well, however it didn’t so much have to do much with his career as a reporter and more to do with his personal hobbies. Needless to say, since he was mighty suspecious since she never took an interest in this ‘hobby’.

“What’s the catch?” Blaine asked as he was finished placing his colour contacts in, his eyes now a bright cat yellow with the slitted pupils “You’ve never had an interest IN cosplay, and suddenly you want a crash course on the matter???”

Nathalie stood off to the side, eyeing the man’s wall of wigs with a raised brow “... Which one do you need?”

“The stark grey one, half up half down, shoulder length.” he instructed “And you didn’t answer my question!” Blaine stated as Nathalie handed him over the wig.

“Can’t I take an interest in my friend’s hobbies?” she asked all to innocently. Blaine looked at her with an unimpressed expression, which proved to be somewhat freaky with the cat eyes and fake scars he had on his face. “... It’s not completely for me.” she finally admitted.

“I figured. It takes an army to convince you to wear something outside of a pantsuit, and suddenly you're interested in the ART of cosplay???” Blaine stated, taking the wig from Nathalie as he began to place it on his head, which already had the wig cap on it.

“... Adrien mentioned wanting to attend a convention that was happening soon.” Nathalie stated slowly “I know he would prefer not to have his driver stalking over him and I figured a costume would be the easiest way for him to attend without his bodyguard following him ten steps away.”

Blaine looked over at Nathalie with a raised brow “... So, let me get this straight… You want me to teach you how to cosplay so you can teach Adrien?”

“I’m fairly certain that Adrien already knows about cosplay, I just wish to know enough so I dont get lost when he explains his plans to me. As well as basic supplies for it…”

Saturday night Nathalie had invited all of her four friends to her apartment for an impromptu ‘planning session’. Now this could be anything from playing dungeons and dragons to watching a movie to planning world domination… what they hadn’t expected was to see Nathalie in sweat pants and a tee-shirt and a large stack of boxes beside her. “Oh good, your all here to help.”

Lloyd and Blaine looked at her in utter confusion well Thistle and Carmine looked around the apartment, noticing that a lot of Nathalie’s stuff was already placed into the boxes. “Um… you moving or something Nath?” Lloyd asked curiously, looking at the boxes.

Thistle’s eyes widened as they walked up to Nathalie, grabbing her shoulders as they looked Nathalie in the eye “This is why you wanted my parents number?! For their business?! I thought you were going to finally ask them for my hand in marriage!!!” they said, gently shaking Nathalie’s shoulders, who looked at her friend with an unimpressed expression.

“Thistle, we aren’t even dating.”

“But still!”

“Wait.” Carmine finally spoke, looking at Nathalie and Thistle “You mean your parents STILL running ‘Castle Retail and Repairs’? I thought they retired last year.” she asked, walking up to the two of them.

Thistle let out a sigh “Yeah, they planned on it, but you know my parents! Their workaholics and enjoy fixing old houses too much.” The pink haired adult stated before turning back to Nathalie “Wait, you talked to me less than a week ago… did you honestly buy a house?!”

Nathalie looked at them all before sighing “... Yes, I bought a house roughly a ten minute drive from here. It’s a bit of a fixer-upper but your parents gave me a good deal for it.” Nathalie stated bluntly before turning towards the mountain of boxes “I need your help to pack all of this up, than I’m going to slowly move into the house within the next month. So, Lloyd and Blaine, if you could start by fixing the boxes up-“

“Nathalie.”

The dark haired woman stopped speaking and looked towards Carmine who looked at her with concerned eyes. “... what’s going on?”

“...” Nathalie knew she had to be very, very careful how she worded this. Carmine could spot a lie a mile away and she honestly did not want to lie to her friends… the woman took a deep breath, walking to the kitchen table and picked up a small stack of papers, brining them over to Lloyd “Read the highlighted areas.”

Lloyd raised a brow before taking the papers, reading them out loud.

“In the event that my parents are unable to do so, than primary guardianship shall fall onto Nathalie Sancoeur for guardianship of my son A…” Lloyd’s eyes widened as he flipped the stack back to the front page, looking at the heading “... this is Emilie Agreste’s will.”

Everyone’s eyes looked towards Nathalie as she looked back at them all with an emotionless expression. “Yes, yes it is.”

“Wait…” Carmine looked at ghe will, than at Nathalie “... YOUR Adrien’s legal guardian?”

“Yes. Emilie had asked me to be Adrien’s guardian years ago. Honestly I had forgotten all about it until recently.” Nathalie stayed evenly “It wasn’t until one of the business that is under Emilie’s name came up that I reread the will, I was worried that it may affect the outcome of the business and I saw… that statement.”

Lloyd looked at Nathalie with a serious expression before he spoke “... you aren’t planning on fighting Gabriel for custody of Adrien are you?” It was no secret that Nathalie cared deeply for Adrien, even if she could never out right say it. Thistle once joked about ‘Meeting their new nephew’ and Blaine asked if ‘Adrien would walk Nathalie down the aisle at her wedding’ but to go against Gabriel? That was risky.

Nathalie scoffed, shaking her head “I’m not an idiot. Even if I don’t always agree with Gabriel’s parenting style, he has yet to cross the line into abuse.”

“Really? What about all the modelling, and the isolation, and the neglect!” Thistle said, looking towards Carmine and Lloyd “Come on, a Counsellor and a lawyer, surely he and broken some kind of law! This could be the kids break!”

“Adrien has never worked past 8 o’clock with photo shoots or over nine hours in a day, and Gabriel prides his brand on proper healthy models who are encouraged to eat a balanced diet.” Nathalie stated before either could speak “if anything its hard to get that boy to GAIN weight, he’s always hungry but never gains an ounce.”

“As for the isolation…” Carmine noticeably scowled “... sadly, it’s the same as being grounded. If your grounded than you can’t hang out with your friends. Gabriel is, sadly, within his right provided that it hasn’t gotten to extremes… but Nathalie, that doesn’t explain why your moving.”

Nathalie looked straight at her friends, shoulders squared, head held high “I plan to discuss with Adrien what he plans to do with his future. From what little I’ve gathered, I don’t believe he is interested in taking over the business or continuing modelling, his father will no doubt try to push it that way. When he turns 18, Adrien will be able to make his own decisions… and if he chooses to walk out of that house, I don’t want him on the streets.” Nathalie stated “There is an in-law suite in the basement of the house, if Adrien so chooses it will be his, but I don’t want to be scrambling to get it ready for him…”

Everyone remained silent for a long time, before Carmine simply stated “Okay. Where do we Start?”

Thistle, who has been looking at the Will asked “By telling me who the fuck the other guardian is and if they are single! Like, anyone know who this is?” Thistle asked, pointing at the other name on the will. Carmine looked at the name with a raised brow “Oh, that’s the Gorilla’s legal name, but everyone calls him Gorilla.”

Two nights later, Nathalie had done her face in full make-up, contouring her face to make appear more angular, thickening her eyebrows and even placing brown coloured contacts in. She barely recognized herself in the mirror, which was a good thing.

The books on laws regarding trust funds still laced out on her table, from the looks of it, when this is all over, Adrien’s trust fund and his earnings from modelling would not be affected, however his shares in the company might, which wasn’t a big loss really.

The keys to her new house were on the hooks beside the door, an escape for Adrien should he ever need it ready when he was.

She placed the pin on, transforming into Mayura, then began to leap across towards her friend Carmine’s house.., it was time the two of them spoke.

favorite books: i dont read on my own time anymore, but my favorite to read for school (and i rec that everyone read) were nectar in a sieve by kamala markandaya, zeitoun by dave eggers, and blood meridian by cormac mccarthy !! nectar in a sieve is about a woman who married as a child bride and encountered lots of problems that she had to fight for esp since her “neighborhood” was changing and like getting “upgraded,” pls pls read its amazing! zeitoun is about a guy who stays in new orleans to help ppl during/after hurricane katrina but he’s muslim and there’s a lot of security that go around so it gets v dramatic and emotional. spectacular. blood meridian is cowboyz🤠🤠 its super violent and depicts rly gross scenes so read at your own risk, but its kinda ?? about this boy (its all in the 1850s) who runs away from home and ends up in cowboy gangs and experiences a lot of death around him (bc they’re cowboys in the 1850s) and i need to reread it bc the end was extremely figurative (i think) and i think it has some kind of meaning but idk... so yeah my top 3 (:

so! about that hogwarts au

im gonna get housing/birth status (??? whats the word for that) done right off the bat

alex is a slytherin, as stated in my previous post (i’m gonna put it in the same tag: hogwarts au)

Molly is a Gryffindor, through and through. the second it was placed on her head the hat was yelling

Chase is a Hufflepuff, which i know is controversal but it boils down to boy needs a hug and people who care about him and he gets that in Hufflepuff

Nico is also a Hufflepuff and I’m right. her sisters one too but thats not my main reasoning my main reasoning is that she’s really loyal and a fucking awesome friend and she’ll go to great lengths to protect the people she loves. 

Karolina is a Gryffindor, but she was also a hatstall because she really really wanted Hufflepuff because her mother drilled it into her that it’s the only truly good house but the hat sees her potential and puts her in with the lions and she ends up ruling them all through her kindness and how willing people are to follow her

Gert is a Ravenclaw, she was a hatstall too but she really didn’t want to be Slytherin (’not that there’s anything wrong with Slytherin it’s a great house’ but it’s just not what I want’)

So Chase and Karolina are purebloods (well, chase is. karolina’s dad is secretly a mythical being but she doesn’t even know he exists so thats for another time) nico is a halfblood (me mum’s a witch. dad’s a muggle. bit of a nasty shock for him when he found out) gert is a pureblood that doesn’t know she’s a pureblood because her mother died when she was three-four and she barely remembers her- she has dreams sometimes where she’s flying on a broomstick with a dark haired woman who’s face she can’t see. the moon is bright, and they are both laughing in joy. she got adopted by the Yorkes, a well meaning muggle scientist couple who make fast friends with their new neighbors, the Hernandezes, a pair of wizards with a child of their own. when Gert is seven and starts making the flowers in the backyard grow like crazy and begins to float down the stairs every morning, Gene and Alice spill the beans that she’s probably a witch and explain about the wizarding world. they give them Neville Longbottom’s card because they’re personal friends (he and gene go to the same bookstore a lot and are kind of buddies) and he explains about the wizarding world and hogwarts and gives gert a bunch of books about their history which leads to an obsession with Hermione. Neville checks in a few times and Gert chatters nonstop and Neville is like ‘i know her, actually’ and Gert screams. anyways Molly gets adopted by the Yorkes when her parents are killed by a mysterious accident and she’s not a pureblood because her family was never obsessed with that purity bullshit but it does make her family tree kind of...........spotty, and other relatives hard to find.

now, on to the good stuff aka Plot

- the five of them meet near the beginning of first year

- gert and chase are friends first because they meet on the train

- by the way this is going to be gertchase heavy dont @ me

- so anyways they meet on the train, and gert sees this very pretty boy sitting alone in a compartment as she walks the length of the train looking for a place to sit for the trip

- and he looks really sad. this is because ten minutes before boarding the train his father had just finished a long, self righteous lecture on why he should ask the hat to be in Gryffindor because ‘that’s what house i was in and you should be like me’ which is the last thing Chase wants.

- ‘hey, mullet, mind if i sit?’ gert asks, flouncing in and plopping down without waiting for an answer, and chase, who’s never been called a mean name by a peer in his life, and certainly never by someone this pretty, is flabbergasted.

- ‘excuse me? i do not have a mullet’ by the way chase is british gert is irish the others i dont care as much but these are the ones i’m attached to because i’m writing something else where that’s their nationalities

- ‘uh, yeah you do, mate. the name’s gert.’ she sticks out her hand, and it’s covered in scribbles. chase takes it hesitantly, and says, ‘uh. my name is chase stein.’

- gert spends that entire first year trying to get him to stop acting like he’s a grandmother at tea time and talk like a normal kid because he’s literally never hung out with anyone his age before

- the way the rest of them became friends: gert decimates alex at gobstones, alex is friends with nico, nico is friends with chase because #puffsolidarity and karolina is friends with gert from like, day two of their first year when they both got detention (the story of which they will Never Tell) (they conspired together to let the frogs from the transfiguration course escape) (they got two weeks detention)

- when chase gets sorted into hufflepuff, he cries. years later, he still doesn’t know why.

- chase develops a big crush on gert in their third year, which is also around the time she decides she’s going to be an animagus (alex told her she couldn’t do it and she got so pissed at him they didn’t talk for a month but it did start her on that path so she’s not super mad anymore) 

- so for about a month she’s being secretive as hell and won’t talk, which she comes up with a variety of reasons for, ranging from ‘i’ve taken a break from talking so you all remember how funny i am’ to ‘i have a debilitating non life threatening illness so i can’t talk until the month is over even if i wanted to’

- chase totally calls bullshit, and he’s kind of upset with her because he JUST figured out he’s likes her and now she won’t even talk?

- when she finally becomes an animagus she doesn’t tell anyone because it’s technically illegal but the first thing she says to anyone is ‘hey, mullet, pass the eggs,’ to chase (because he’s thirteen and still has the mullet although she’s probably going to be calling him that even when they’re married) and he cries. she’s like ‘woah what’s wrong?!?’ and he says through tears ‘you’re (sob sob) talking to me (sob sob) again (sob sob)’ but he gets a hug out of it so the ribbing from the guys on the quidditch team is worth it

- speaking of quidditch

- oh wait right gert’s animagi form is a kitty cat which she’s pissed about because she wanted something badass but nope she’s a fluffy calico with glasses markings around the eyes (and a purple tuft when she dies her hair)

- anyways quidditch

- gert and chase are both on their respective teams, gert is a beater and chase is a chaser (haha) and later on they become captains

- nico is the announcer for the games and a common theme is her dramatically making fun of their sexual tension/basically being a couple without being a couple bullshit

- ‘oh and there goes yorkes hitting stein with the bludger again, now, we have to wonder how bad their little lovers quarrel was’ 

- in fourth year, there’s the tournament and the yule ball

- karolina gets picked to represent hogwarts, and she doesn’t win but she still ‘loved the experience!’

- she takes nico to the ball, and that’s how they get together it’s really cute

- so obviously chase was planning to ask gert to the ball

- but he gets nervous and waits too long, and he’s literally mid sentence about to ask her when this girl from Beauxbatons (abby, if you’ve read one of my previous fics) waltzes up all cool and asks Gert straight up ‘will you go to the ball with me?’

- gert looks at chase first, just for a second, then says, ‘of course!’ because she really didn’t think anyone would ask her and abby is really really pretty and nice

- so gert looks gorgeous the night of 

- she’s wearing this long, shimmery dress, and her long, dark hair is in ringlets, and chase is enamoured

- she asks his opinion first, because best friends and all

- gert thinks hes being insincere tho and it kind of hurts her feelings

- the dance is fine until gert goes to get her and abby drinks and abby is making out with someone random and gerts heart breaks in two

- she runs out of the ballroom in tears, and chase, who’s been sitting at a table all night completely ignoring his date, to her annoyance, sees her leave. he immediately gets up and goes after her, and finds her crying her eyes out in an empty classroom

- ‘hey’ he says, sitting down next to her. ‘hi,’ she says, voice cracking, and he wraps his arms around her and she presses her face into his chest as she cries.

- and then she starts rambling. ‘so i just saw abby kissing on some other girl, and i mean, i knew this was too good to be true, but i didn’t want to believe it, you know? i was just happy someone wanted to take me, but i should’ve known when she kept calling me beautiful. liars don’t make good dates.’

- ‘what? gert, you’re, um, you’re beautiful’

- ‘pfft yeah right i know you think so, sure-’

- chase holds her face in his hands in a rare moment of fourteen year old boldness and says ‘gert. you’re gorgeous’

- ‘o-oh’

- he seems to realize what he’s doing and pulls away, and they don’t talk about it after, but gert gets the beginning of a crush that day.

- so fifth year

- gert and chase don’t see each other all summer, because gert’s parents drag her and molly to america for research, which is where gert meets tandy and ty, super cool american wizards and she posts a picture with one of them on insta and Chase gets mega jealous even if he doesn’t say anything

- gert cuts and dyes her hair with tandy and molly’s help but keeps it a secret so she can surprise him

- they text more than call because chase’s voice is in the midst of dropping and he’s embarassed

- and the whole summer he’s bored as hell so he just goes to the gym every day

- and he finally gets a good hairstyle

- so that first day at the train station gert sees him and literally doesn’t recognize him

- who is this broad-shouldered, deep-voiced beauty standing beside her? and staring at her like he can’t believe what he’s seeing?

- ‘gert?’ ‘oh my god, chase? you look............so different. so what do you think? of my hair, i mean.’ her brain’s a little wonky. chase is so attractive, what the fuck

- he reaches over and winds his finger around a curl. ‘it’s really pretty.’ his voice is soft and to her ears, intimate, and oh, fuck you, hormones, this is the last type of reaction she wants to be having to this.

- she blushes really red and chase is like hmmm this is new

- that whole year there’s something different underlying everything. they spend a lot more time alone, doing homework together or going out on their broomsticks or splitting off from the group when they go to hogsmeade

- coincidentally, they both also make prefect that year, and through a lot of twisting schedules around by the kids (nico and karolina make prefect and there’s a few other interhouse relationships so gert and chase get paired up) they do patrols together

- and there’s a metric fuckton of flirting

- they also start playing dumb magic pranks on each other around this time, so often one of them will show up to breakfast with green hair or galaxy freckles

- chase did the freckles to piss her off but, oh no, she looks so cute, this isn’t fair

- fifth year is also when gert’s anxiety starts to get bad, so there are a lot of nights where she roams the castle in cat form, still kind of pissed about the tuft of purple that sticks up

- on one of these nights, chase can’t sleep. and i mean really can’t sleep. so he puts on the little device he wired up to make teachers not notice him because im lazy and cant think of anything else and heads down to him favourite alcove where he can look up at the moon and the snow falling and just think.

- gert comes across him, still in cat form, and she still hasn’t told him, or anyone, that she’s an animagus, so she considers just walking away, but then chase sees her and is picking her up and babytalking at her and oh, this is so cute, she can’t leave now

- so she settles in his lap and he starts petting her, saying, ‘you’re so soft, yes you are, pretty girl, yes you are,’ because ya know. he thinks hes talking to a cat.

- and then he just starts rambling about his issues and hes kind of maybe vaguely talking about ‘this girl’ (gert) and he doesnt say that he likes her but if you listen closely its clear, and okay, gert needs to transform back now or she’ll fall asleep, and she’s been meaning to tell chase anyways.

- so she changes back and oh, she didn’t think this through, because she’s sitting in his lap in her- oh, shit- pyjama shorts and tank top and no bra, what the fuck was she thinking?

- chase screams, and gert slaps her hand over his mouth so they don’t get caught. ‘are you done?’

- chase is wide eyed as he nods, and gert takes her hand off his mouth.

- ‘so. you’re an animagus, right?’ ‘yeah’ ‘how long?’ ‘remember that time in third year when alex said i wouldn’t be able to do it and we fought?’ ‘oh my god’

- his arm settles around her waist, fingers brushing against bare skin where her shirt has ridden up, and they’re both staring at each other and thinking ‘what if we made out right now’

- but then they hear a loud banging noise and jump to their feet, running back down the hallway. gert turns into a cat midstep, and chase whisper-shouts ‘that is SO not fair!’

- they make it back to their respective common rooms, just barely, and neither of them are able to sleep the entire night because of what almost happened between them

- at the end of the year, at the train station, they share a very long hug and promise to see each other over the summer. their friends are definitely making fun of them in the background

- near the start of sixth year they’re still doing patrols together, and one night, out of the blue, chase kisses her. they end up making out for like, an hour, then go back to their dorms smiling their asses off

- but guess what? they’re idiots. so they don’t get together right then

- they don’t actually talk about it. but every night they’re on patrol together, guess who’s ignoring their duties to make out in some dark corner? them

- but during the day they’re kind of ignoring each other and everyone is so sick of it so one day nico shoves them into the room of requirement (which she definitely found really early on in her hogwarts career- hufflepuffs are particularly good finders, after all) to force them to talk to each other and locking the door.

- they kind of just stand their awkwardly for a minute until gert is like ‘wanna make out’ and chase, being chase, says yes

- so they do that for a while, and there’s a couch in this nondescript room because story reasons, so it gets a little pg-13 up in the room of requirement if you know what i’m saying

-but chase gets hit with this wave of i wish she was my girlfriend why isn’t she my girlfriend what are we doing and stops kissing her. he’s so tempted to just dive back in, just from how she’s looking right now, but he really, really needs to say something.

- ‘look, gert, i want you to know.........i have feelings for you. there, i said it. and i’m not comfortable with just messing around when i care about you so much- mph!” 

- Gert cuts him off with a kiss. she pulls back, and says, ‘I like you too, mullet.’ and then they make out some more and when they come out of the room of requirement their entire friend group is waiting outside the door with Bertie Botts and chocolate frogs waiting to see the results and they come out holding hands and everyone starts cheering dramatically, like, ‘FINALLY, AFTER SIX YEARS, I KNOW PEACE!’

- and they all live happily ever after the end
