Is it canon or fanon that Zuko's firebending came late? Maybe he just wants papa Jee to dry it for him.

Canonically zuko at his birth was lacking his "spark", which was the first reason for ozais distaste for zuko. things calmed down after the royal family realized that zuko is in fact a bender. when that happened or how they figured it out is not specified. < this is what basically you get when yo u watch the show, read the comics or read the wiki i personally think zuko is shown to be lacking in that skill as a kid? he doesn't put fire out, rather tackles mai in a pond. i just guess it doesn't come to him as naturally as it does for azula -shrugs-

zuko could also be fine for a normal 10-year-old, it's just the royal family ridiculous high standard and expectations for their heirs. he was confident egnouth to fight an adult in an agni kai at 13. but fierbending coming later or not... i don't trust a 3 years old with drying their own socks. zuko is a dum dum but he is at least smart enough to ask an adult for help when fire gets involved. -pats his perfectly bald shaved round head ignoring the scar covering half of his tiny face- good job kid!
