yeah i totally agree with what you said about satire and schlatt basically taking the easy way out. it seems like since that video he's kinda eased back from doing that shit, either bc the backlash or bc his friends have started verbally calling him out on it, both to his face and through making comments about him on stream (comments as in like saying they dont agree with what he did and saying they thought that video was terrible, not like them shading him or whatever ajsksk) which is good but also i wouldnt be surprised if something like that video happened again just bc like. it is his career and at this point he has to know what his larger fanbase is like to an extent, which means he also knows those terrible fucking jokes will make him money. i dont like that, but im also not gonna sit around and pretend like i cant see the fucking obvious, ya know? from what ive seen of him when he's not putting on a show for his main channel, or when he isnt around people who both encourage and enable his bad behavior (not saying this to shift blame, ive just noticed how he goes from making actually funny jokes that are harmless or, at most, a pretty obvious example of him poking fun at shitty people, at least imo, to like. straight up just being offensive when he's with people like swagger, miz, etc. vs ted, charlie and so on), he seems like a pretty good guy and its pretty clear to me that he doesnt hold the same views as the character he plays up for his main channel but that doesnt change the fact that his audience is now full of the worst kinds of people and that is how he makes money.

as someone who, again, watched idubbbz, as well as filthyfrank, they both stated they were playing characters and they didnt agree with the shit they were joking about, joji especially, but them saying that isnt very well known by even their own fanbase who just watches their main channel stuff, bc the one video where joji made that explicitly clear what he was doing, he later deleted for people harassing him in the comments (it was an old ass video where he basically said that playing those characters was giving him literal health problems, specifically stress induced seizures, and his comments were so bad that he never made an ooc video on his main channel again) and the one video i can think of where ian explicitly said he was playing a character was like an hour long podcast with h3, which most people dont even wanna watch bc it is a painfully uncomfortable one hour, considering the fact that they are supposed to be friends. besides that, the only other time they were really out of character was in vlogs with maxmoefoe, and they still did their offensive bits from time to time bc it was still going up on youtube, even if it wasnt their main channel. compare that to schlatt who has, as far as i know, never explicitly said he's playing a character, and the closest he has gotten to saying that was in some weekly slap video that i cant remember the title of bc all those videos kinda blend together if im being honest. like they definitely show a different, better side of him, but they are also all really short videos with only gameplay to watch and he never even promotes the channel, so its not like the shitty people watching him are like "hm time to take some time out of my day to go watch big man schlatt give people advice and be a genuine person for once", right?

idk. schlatt is just such a weird person for me bc like. he is a big comfort for me, i really do enjoy his content when he's not making bad stabs at satire (bc sometimes he does it right!! but a lot of the time, at least recently, he has just missed the mark entirely, to the point where it feels like he wasnt even trying to hit the mark at all), but he is also so uncomfortable to watch sometimes just bc he seems to either not know where the line is, or thinks crossing it is okay bc its him playing a character and that's not fun to watch as a minority who often ends up being apart of that "punchline".

that aside tho...yes, unfortunately idubbbz does still make content (and i say unfortunately bc it is not very good) though it seems like he is very slow to upload and last i checked, the views arent too great, but ive seen worse. probably the only thing that could bring back his views at this point would be a content cop, but like a year or so back he said he has no plans of continuing the series bc he finds it boring now, which is fair enough. i dont really keep up with him anymore, but as far as i know, he just got married to anisa and he streams on twitch sometimes, besides that the dude is a mystery to me!

This is kind of old now (sorry), but I still wanted to respond because I really appreciate your perspective :)

Authortube is horrible and why I’ve turncoated to Booktube. I wont apologize but I will argue.

I’ve consumed about 5 hours worth of Authortube just to write a shitty think-piece about it, so now we gotta have this talk. If you’re unaware of what I’m talking about let me explain; YouTube is a website that used to be about cat videos but now splits itself into subsections THAT ARE DEFINITELY NOT CULTS, but kinda looks like it at times,

Though these genre’s aren’t really official, there is a genre for just about everything, and creative things especially. You have plenty of genres and way too many Youtubers to express it, and despite my pretentious nature I actually love how congested it is because it means its accessible to almost everyone, anybody can pretty much join in,

(Yeah I know, what a progressive queen I am, please give me claps for the bare fucking minimum,)

Gaming is probably the biggest on YouTube right now, but we like to pretend that it doesn’t exist and consume that content in the darkest corners of our house and pretend we don’t like it. Anyways; Authortube is kind of self explanatory and despite what a man-splainer I am as a 21 year old female, I think you get the point on what it is,

Well, with Authortube, we are making books to be consumed, and with this happening, Booktube has also bloomed. And in my judgemental opinion, it is actually better, and no, I’m not gonna go on the rampant that “we need to learn our audience” because preying on a bunch of minors doesn't sound very nice.

Or legal, actually, yikes. It’s not like that, don’t make a judgment, we authors just want their money, not their mental state. Okay, I need to shut up, let’s talk about shit posting again,

It’s actually not all minors, there’s plenty of adults on BookTube as well, which actually makes it that much more relatable, as to where Authortube is mainly adults who are going through routes to publishing their book or already have. Now, don’t attack me just yet, it’s my turn to argue honey and I brought an unloaded gun to the canon fight, I have an example for you.

Let’s take a look at Jenna Moreci, who is lovely, but also pretentious as all fuck. So me, but successful, not broke, prettier and in video format. In all seriousness I understand her audience, it’s primarily youthful writers looking for advice or writers looking to self publish because they see a success story, but this advice is all very mediocre and this isn’t a Jenna problem, this is an Authortube problem, Jenna Moreci is just an unfortunate example to explain my point,

She’s even made certain content I can consume and not wanna spittle up, but it’s only when she herself is in the frame, and mainly when writing is not what she’s trying to teach me about. Jenna as a person with personality is quite lovely and very watchable, but Jenna as a self-publisher is part of the reason why I’ve turncoated.

Writers aren’t puppies, you can’t teach them tricks, and though writing advice is important to get, I don’t see there being a lot of purpose in having 18 YouTubers telling me Show not Tell, but never following the same advice.

You don’t get that lecturing attitude from Booktube, you get lovely personalities like Ariel Bisset and hilarious reviews from Cat (Paperbackdreams) and it actually becomes more watchable because it feels more genuine because they’re actual people in front of a camera, talking about what they enjoy, that’s because they aren’t trying to sell you something.

To compare two examples, for Authortube we’ll use Jenna Moreci, and for BookTube, we’ll use LilyCReads,

LilyCReads, a BookTube channel, who used to do hilarious reviews on plenty of books, in a more so ranting fashion, and this worked for her, her audience grew a lot because of it. But eventually, she felt so obligated to make rant reviews she stopped enjoying the process of making the videos entirely, so with this being her emotions, she took down her rant reviews due to feeling too negative about it. Her greatest fear was becoming a rant review channel focusing on negativity. Though many of these videos I loved from her, she took them all down, which at first, was a bit saddening for me, as I watched those videos after a long day, oftentimes repeatedly, but I could not deny her genuine emotion to not wanting to be negative.

And honey, I can’t relate, but I can say LilyCReads is one of the most genuine faces you will see on camera now. Has her subscriber count faced a backlash to this? Yes, she took down what -- in my opinion -- was her best videos.

I don’t laugh when I watch her videos anymore, so this isn’t to say Booktube is perfect but I can say she is much more of a person for it and has not re-uploaded the rant-reviews for viewership at my time of writing this.

And then we have Jenna Moreci, as we’ve discussed is very likable person and that’s why she’s succeeding, but it’s very hard to get a genuine feeling from her unless you have a bias to content you’ve enjoyed from her, so eventually “Cyborg” starts feeling less like a joke, and more like a reality,

This leads us to a very conflictive point, which is Marketing; and trust me, I don’t wanna talk about the marketing of a book no more than you wanna read about it, but the bottom line is we can’t finish this topic without at least mentioning it,

And it is worth mentioning because that is actually the drive that most people start these channels with. Though for some I’m sure they do actually enjoy it, but others whom I won’t mention, it feels as genuine as my hair extensions; looks right in certain angles, but is definitely about to come unglued.

It’s worth mentioning that I only started this blog because I wanted to become involved within a writing community and eventually begin marketing my own shitty book I wrote, so I come at this with not judgment, but a realization. The only reason I continue to do this right now is because I find a genuine enjoyment from it, but I don’t get to choose when my writing feels genuine to you, and it is only fair to mention, that those were the intentions I started with.

I understand the point of marketing but it’s also worth mentioning how fucking skeezy that actually is, when our audience is more of a person than we actually are as writers/authors. And if you’re reading this as somebody who isn’t a writer, but is a reader, then you’re in the clear, but if you’re a writer, be aware of this before you bleach the side of your head to maintain a “funky skunky stripe” and start a Tumblr blog like I did.

I was a redneck before this, can you believe that? Shame. I feel lots of shame.

Now, I’m not saying marketing your book makes you evil, I’m just saying that it’s hard not to get wrapped up in the business mindset because publishing a book on your own is fucking terrifying. It’s scary to realize that you may have put months/years into a book that will flop because you made 2 less Instagram posts last week. Trust me, I get it, but at some point Authortube took a great plunge.

And though yes, this is all my opinion, I think we all know it’s quite clear I really only care about what I’m saying at the moment, so I really don’t give two shits about who you watch on YouTube, but I will say, if you enjoy Authortube, you’ll love Booktube, and I hope you love both, because both have important places.

But I’ve become biased to people and I can’t help but scan every person I meet, see, or know to make sure they’re genuine. I like seeing people because we are surrounded by capitalization run amok. Everything is a god damn advertisement and it’s honestly driving me insane, so it is nice to relax, kick back and watch somebody read ‘Searching Around Nebraska’, a book I’ll never read, but listen to somebody talk about because at least I know they enjoyed it.

And it’s important for me to watch people enjoy things, I’ve lost all happiness in the void of my self-conscience telling me to pay for Facebook advertisements, I mean god damn guys my pretentious mindset has me syringe-ejecting serotonin from videos about red pandas, and injecting it directly into the bloodstream. It’s like crack, but cuter.

My point is, reading is hard and writing has fried my brain, support nice people with small channels because they’re more likely to write a diss track on me and that’s all I truly want. Bully me, mommy.

Two of Lucien's men dragged Elizabeth through the woods right behind Vincent and Lucian as he lead Freya forward. As much as Freya had still been safe, Freya had been worried about the condition Elizabeth had been in. She hadn't looked good. She was already starting to hallucinate and Freya wast sure how much longer Elizabeth had left. She needed to find someway to get a message to Niklaus or even Elijah to help her out. But she knew with Vincent there watching her and what ever magic she would try to use, there wasn't much she could do. The only thing she could do was try and distract Lucian some how.

"After all that flirtation, this is your idea of a first date?" Freya said and a weak chuckle from Elizabeth caused Freya to smile for a moment. At least she was still able to know what was going on and wasn't completely lost in her hallucinations.

"Should have listened to me." Elizabeth said with an 'I told you so' tone. And while Elizabeth had been feeling horrible in that moment with the venom coursing through her body, she had watched the two that were currently dragging her as much as she could in between her hallucinations. She knew they were several hundred years younger than her. She just needed to find the right moment to get herself out of their hold.

Lucien had ignored Elizabeth and chuckled at Freya. "Think of it as a date with Destiny, love. While I'll admit, six is a bit much. Vincent is a necessary evil I am afraid. He had to keep you in check."

"What about Elizabeth?" Freya asked. She received a devilish grin from Lucien.

"Elizabeth, while more of annoyance, is here because she is dying and while she will eventually die, It means I will have hurt your brother in the most diabolical way." He looked back at Elizabeth for a moment and she glared at him. "Taking his mate away will make things much more easier for me to put my plans into action with him fighting with himself on wanting to keep his existence or not."

"What are you talking about?!" Elizabeth asked. She was trying to fight off a hallucination. She couldnt let it take over her before knowing what he had meant by that. She shook her head several times until the she found herself back in the woods with them.

Lucien stopped and walked over to her. "You honestly don't know?" A smirk played on his lips and he chuckled. "He's going to feel you die over and over, love. That's how the lovely bond works between the two of you. You feel when he is in trouble, and he felt when you were in trouble. And when you die, he'll feel that without a doubt. Its going to cause him to go mad, Liz. And it's all because you wanted that spell undone. I do remember saying that you would have a target on your back just for others to get to him. Myself included."

Elizabeth shook her head not wanting to believe anything that he had said. She couldnt believe it. "No." She said almost sounding broken. "You can't do that to him."

"I already have, love." He said with his smirk still growing on his face. "That venom in your system isn't going to last much longer. I'd give it another two or three hours and you'll be in oblivion while he is on this earth debating on joining you or not." Looking away from her and to the men that held her, he gave them a nod. "Stay here and watch her." They agreed and held Elizabeth back as she struggled slightly not wanting to leave Freya alone with them.

Once they were no longer in ear shot, even for her super hearing, she gave up her struggle and sat on the ground. She wanted to just sit there and torment herself on her decision of wanting that spell undone. She wanted to tell herself that she would find a way to get the venom out of her system just so she wouldn't die. She didn't want to die and have Elijah suffer because of it. He had suffered enough through out the centuries and she wasn't going to let him suffer anymore. It seemed that those thoughts alone had been enough to give her the strength and the time she needed to quickly stand and pull on of their hearts out and running in the opposite direction of where Freya and Lucien had been headed. She needed blood and she needed to find away to keep herself sane a little longer to get a hold of anyone that may have had a Klaus's blood stored.

Elizabeth hadn't gotten far when a hallucination began to take over her. The woods that surrounded her had seemed so familiar to her and that had made it so easy for her mind to accept the hallucination as real. While in her mind she could hear children laughing, and she had easily followed the sounds of them, out side of her mind, she had just been walking through the trees that lead no where in particular. Her grip on reality was coming back when she began coughing excessively until the world around her began to spin and she passed out.

Elijah paced the study as Davina explained the video she had found from Vincent to him and Finn. Elijah had stayed up the whole night searching the city for Freya and Elizabeth. None of his efforts had been enough to find them. He hadn't slept a wink and he hand no plans on doing so until they were both home safely. He only stopped his pacing for a moment to look towards Davina.

"Have you ever done anything like this?" Elijah asked about the possible link Vincent spoke of.

"I don't even know if it is possible. But I do have Vincent's blood. If I can take Finn's blood, and do the spell right, I may be able to track Vincent down." Elijah had nodded and looked out the window.

"Now Lucien has a head start." Finn said beginning to pace in his own spot. "Go witch, tend to your spells. I wont rest until they are found."

Davina sighed softly standing up from her seat. "There is one more thing, Elijah."

Elijah looked back at her with a raised eyebrow. "What is it?" He asked.

"Vincent also mentioned Elizabeth." It caused both Elijah and Finn to look even more worried. "She wasn't just taken because she had been there with Freya, Lucien wanted her as well." She paused for a moment. "But unlike with Freya being a witch and needing Vincent to keep her in check, he needed something else to keep Liz in check. And I think you should try getting a hold of Malakai."

"For what?" Finn asked.

"He's going to need to ask Klaus for some of his blood and bring it to us. She's been injected with werewolf venom." The look Davina saw on Elijah's face said it all. He was now even more concerned about Elizabeth now.

Finn looked to Elijah and placed his hand on his shoulder. "We may not even need the spell. You can find her."

"How can I?" Elijah asked. "There is no way to tell where she can be."

"But you can get inside her head with that bond of yours. If she has venom in her system, that's going to leave her mind vulnerable for anyone to get inside of her head. If you used the bond between the two of you, you may be able to get inside her head."

"It's worth a shot, Elijah." Davina said. "We don't even know if I can get the link between Finn and Vincent to work. But what you and Liz have is a better chance."

"Its worth a shot." Elijah said with a nod. "Anything to get them back home." He looked to Finn. "Lets hit the road just in case I can get inside her head and she can tell us where they are at." He looked back to Davina. "Please work on the spell just in case if she cannot." Davina nodded and watched Elijah and Finn head out before turning to go work on the spell.

Once Elijah and Finn were in the car, Finn began to drive out of the city. Elijah sat back and tried reaching out to Elizabeth. He had opened his mind and tried feeling for the bond that was between them. He had gotten nothing at first until his mind began to be pulled into Elizabeth's mind. He found himself surrounded by trees and he could tell that he wasn't in any present time. He was in a memory of hers. He walked in one direction until he heard laughter and he followed it.

He walked through the trees following the laughter until he found Elizabeth leaning against one of the trees looking at the children running around in the village. There was a smile plastered on her face as she watched one little girl in particular. It made Elijah smile knowing that in her mind, she wasn't feeling the full effects of the werewolf venom. Elijah stood next to her and it caused Elizabeth to look over at him and back at the little girl.

"I used to come by and watch her." Elizabeth said with her smile fading a bit. "But look at her, she looks more like her father."

"That isn't true." Elijah said watching the girl that Elizabeth had her eyes on. The girl wasn't any older than five. Her hair was black and eyes that matched Elizabeth's light brown eyes. "I see more of you in her than of him. She has the same spirit you had when you were her age. Look at her, not giving a care about the others around her. She's in her own world just like you always were."

Elizabeth chuckled a bit. "You know, watching her like this, from afar, had been the hardest thing to do." She shook her head as she watched her daughter run into a hut and turned to Elijah. "I wanted to take her back and be her mother again. But with my blood lust I couldnt. And by the time I had gotten that under control, she was already apart of another family, I couldnt do it. I couldnt take her way from the only place she had known."

"Then why revisit this particular memory?" Elijah asked curiously as he watched her.

"I'm dying Elijah." She said with a shake of her head. "The last thing I remember was walking through the woods trying to find some way back to you and I passed out. And the first thing that came to mind was this. Was her. I had to see her one last time."

"You will not die, Elizabeth." Elijah said with a stern voice.

Elizabeth smiled. "You always did care for me. It seems this bond between us was around even when I was human." Elijah said nothing, he just watched her. "When you told me you came and checked on me, it wasn't because of any guilt you felt for what your brothers had done. It had been there the whole time. It was how you knew my husband hit me for the first time. And it was how you knew to save me from him that night Mikael came."

"And now I am using that bond to try and find you." Elijah said taking a few steps closer to her and placing his hand on her cheek. She leaned it to his hand, watching him. "It will be alright. Just tell me what you remember about where you are."

Elizabeth nodded slightly. "I know we passed through a small town in Northern Virginia." Elizabeth could see the realization in Elijah. "What is it?"

"I know where you are." He said with nod.

"Where are we?" She asked. "I was going in and out of head the whole way here."

"A town called Mystic Falls." It was then that Elijah realized there was something off about Elizabeth now. When she started shaking her head there was a bit of relief.

"The birth place of both the Mikaelsons and the Salvatores." She said with a small smirk. Elijah shook his head at the mention of the Salvatores. He had remembered Malakai asking the night they arrived in New Orleans if she had dated a Salvatore.

"I need to let Finn know where to go, he is driving." Elijah said taking a step back from her.

"Finn is with you?" She asked with a small smile on her face. "Its good you two are getting a long enough to look for us."

"We are only tolerating each other. It would be different if you two were safe."

"Will you be back?" She asked hopeful. She didn't know how much longer she had and she didn't want to be alone. Elijah could see that in her eyes.

"You have my word." He said before Elizabeth watched him disappear from her mind.

Elizabeth found herself waking up and staring up at the sky. She got up slowly, and started making her way towards the sounds of voices. She knew she was near the town and as much as she wanted to avoid it there, she found herself drawn to it and the humans that were there. Luckily for her, there had been a human wondering in the woods by himself. Elizabeth couldnt stop herself as she rushed over to him and sank her teeth into his neck. She had continued to drink until the body had run dry.

Elizabeth!

Elizabeth looked around her for the voice. But she couldnt see anyone. Dropping the body, she turned in a circle trying to listen for it again. Hearing nothing, she made her way towards the town again.

I wouldn't do that Liz.

She turned around and found no one there. She started to believe this was now all in her head. The voice had sounded louder though and so much familiar. She just couldnt place who it belonged to or where it was coming from. She placed her hands on her head trying to get her grip on reality.

"And here you are all lost and confused." This time the voice sounded right next to her and when she turned, she saw who it belonged to. There was a shock look on her face. "Don't look so surprised to see me Liz. Its only been what, three years since you've last seen me?"

Elizabeth shook her head. "You are supposed to be desiccating, Damon." She shook her head trying to get rid of what she was seeing. "You aren't real."

"No, but maybe I'm here because you felt guilty about something?" Damon asked taking a step towards her. With each step he took towards her, Elizabeth took a step back away from him.

"I don't feel guilty about anything." She said still trying to prove to herself that this was not real. She had heard that he was in a coffin waiting for his girl friend to wake up from what ever spell was put on her.

"Yes you do, Liz. Think about it. That's the thing about having that humanity switch on. You always feel something about the thing you've done."

"I do not feel guilty about compelling her or taking her blood right from under all of your noses. You were all to busy caring about what mess Klaus had made, no one was going to notice that little Elena was missing a few vials of blood from her system."

"Okay so maybe you aren't guilty. Then maybe you regret something?" He asked.

"The only thing I regret is not taking back my daughter." She said turning and rushing towards the town. She found herself right at the edge of the woods when she felt pain pass through her whole body. It caused her to double over and fall onto the ground. The venom was no longer just affecting her mind, it was now affecting her body even more than it had been. It had been enough to make her pass out once more.

Elijah felt the faint pain and knew something was wrong with Elizabeth. He had been able to tell Finn where to go, as well as get a call to Malakai before he began to feel anything. The hybrid hadn't been happy about the situation, but he managed to get Klaus to give him some blood and was on his way. They were almost to Mystic Falls when Elijah found himself entering Elizabeth's mind again.

This time, it had been night. There were torches lit in several different places in a clearing. He didn't know what memory she had been reliving or what it was about this place that had drawn her here. Walking past the torches, he walked into the clearing. He did not see here anywhere near until he saw the other end of the clearing. It lead out to an edge of a small cliff that over looked the ocean. He found Elizabeth sitting on a blanket with a single torch lit a few feet behind her as she looked out into the ocean.

Elijah sighed softly as he walked over to her and sat down on the blanket next to her. Elizabeth didn't look at him this time. She continued to look out into the dark. Even though it was dark, she was glad she could see the details the beginning of the waves. While she couldnt see them crashing onto the shore below, it was still nice to see it.

"You felt it, didn't you?" Elizabeth asked never moving her eyes away from the view.

"Yes." He said watching her. And with his answer, he could see a tear fall down her cheek.

"I know you are trying hard to get to me." She said sounding broken. "But if you cant, I want to apologize."

While Elijah knew he would do everything he could to get to her, he wasn't sure what it was that she wanted to apologize for. She had not been at fault for anything. This had all been Lucien's fault. "What is there for you to apologize for?"

"For what ever pain you'll feel when I am gone." She could hear her own voice crack a bit. She finally looked over at him. He could see that she had been crying since before he had arrived. "I didn't know the full extent of our bond. But if I die it will be worse for you. I am so sorry 'Lijah. I never wanted that for you."

Elijah shook his head slightly and pulled her into him and wrapped his arm around her. He couldn't stand to see her upset. Seeing her like this, and feeling her emotions, was different. It had been something he had never expected to feel and while he could feel the guilt she felt and the hatred she had towards herself, he knew that this had never been her fault. It was all at the wrong time.

"Malakai is on his way with Niklaus's blood." He whispered in hopes to make her feel better. He could feel Elizabeth nod against his shoulder. She couldnt get herself to speak. She should have been glad that Malakai was on his way, but she worried if he would make it on time. "Where are we?" Elijah asked, breaking her thoughts.

"It is the clearing Malakai and I had always went to when we wanted to escape from the world. " She said softly. "In the present, it no longer exists. Its all beach front property houses and condos. I love it like this though. " She looked up at him. "Can you tell Malakai something for me?"

Elijah nodded, looking back at her. He only wanted to make her happy. He hoped as hell he wouldn't have to tell Malakai, that she had died, or to even tell him her last message. "Of course, though I believe you'll be able to tell him yourself."

"Just in case." She said with a small smile. "Just let him know that it is time for him to have his adventure." She said tearing up again. "One that doesn't include revenge or guilt. He's been cooped up in a box for so long, I don't need him babysitting mine."

"He wont have to." Elijah said trying to be as positive as he could be. "I know both of us will stop at nothing until you have my brother's blood in your hands."

"Where are you at?" She asked.

"We've arrived in Mystic Falls." He said with a slight nod.

"I can feel you close." She said with a smile. "Like I should wake up and find you."

He chuckled and kissed her forehead before pulling her up with him as he stood up. "I'll find you, Elizabeth. Just stay a sleep a little longer so you don't feel anymore pain."

She nodded and took a step back from him. "Its better for both of us if I don't feel pain." She said with a small chuckle. She watched as he began to fade from her mind. She sighed softly as she looked at the clearing. She only wished she could speak to Malakai before the venom killed her.

"Elizabeth." Hearing her name caused her to look around for the source of the voice. She was already asleep. How could she be hallucinating while dreaming?

"Wake up, Liz." The voice said again, and this time she felt a jolt of her body. Had Elijah found her already? But he wouldn't have woken her up, he would have left her to sleep.

The dream world around her began to fade as she began to wake up. Her vision was blurry as she looked up at who was waking her. "Elijah?" She asked softly.

"No, but I'm going to attempt to kick his ass for letting you out of his sight." It caused Elizabeth to chuckle at the familiarity of his voice.

"Kai." She said with a weak smile. "I didn't think I'd get to see you again."

"Now you get to see my face until you drink this." He said bringing the vile up to her lips. " Drink it , Liz and the pain will stop." With a weak nod, Elizabeth placed her lips on the vial as Malakai tilted it, letting the blood flow into her mouth and she drank every last drop. Satisfied, Malakai helped her up, and looked her over to make sure there was nothing that showed she had any of the effects of the venom.

"I'm fine, Kai. I feel a lot better than I did." She said swatting him away.

"Good, now let's go kick Lucien's ass before he does what ever it is that he is planning on doing." He said with a smirk on his face.

The idea had been the best thing that Elizabeth had heard all day. Just before they were about to take off, Elijah and Finn showed up with Matt Donovan. Elizabeth raised her eyebrow at him. She knew exactly who he was, but she didn't understand why he had been there with them.

"Sorry, Elijah." Matt said to him before raising the gun at Elizabeth and shooting her shoulder." It caused Elijah, Finn and Malakai to take a step closer to Matt. They stopped their advances when they heard Elizabeth speak.

"Yeah," Elizabeth groaned. "I deserved that." She said holding her shoulder. Elijah looked at her with a raised eyebrow. Instead of answering the question the three of them were wanting to ask, instead she shook her head. "Can we go kill Lucien now, or are you going to let the human continue to shoot at me?"

I kind of did this as a tribute to all the years I spent creating for sims - spending hours and hours on Photoshop developing a skill set that I didn’t really think would ever mean anything in the real world… however through crazy circumstances, my years of creating for Sentate have actually ended up landing me an amazing job opportunity in real life!

I also just always ALWAYS wanted to make a fashion show on sims, when I used to play waaaay back in 2007 I idolized creators who showcased their work and treated themselves as real couture brands, which in a sense is very much how I have treated Sentate.

SENTATE means so much to me as both a creative outlet and a hobby, as well as the the amazing support and kind comments I’ve received over the years mean more than any one will ever know.

I can’t wait to share all these creations with you (Most of them only have one colour option; hence why their not all being released straight away)

My new upload plan is to spread content between both TUMBLR and TSR. - TSR is where all my current TS4 content is stored and I really like the sites format and posting system, for me its the easiest tool to use and being a featured artist there means a alot to me, in addition to they really helped me out when I was struggling… HOWEVER I think it would be nice to have some more exclusive stuff over on my tumblr that’s more niche, less mainstream content. Plus I low key miss having my own site. so stay tuned everyone.

You know when you're getting older when people start having 10 year aniversaries. But alas. I still await my aniversary (which wont be for over 3 years).

You're delusional if you think I wont be posting about this.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been watching people rant online for a long ass time. I've watched Youtube videos, blogs, and deviantart journals of course. And stamps. It used to be game reviewers (Clement and SomecallmeJohnny), then it was political videos (The Amazing Atheist formerly then Sargon and Hunter Avallone currently). But I've never actually made friends with any of them. Unlike 345rv5.

I've made friends with 345rv5 just a few years back. While he isn't millionaire famous, he has a rather large following on deviantart. And that's because there's a little bit of everything on his page. He started off reviewing anime but then he would he started getting into debates. I think what made him a force to be reckoned with was the fact that he made very long journals and comments. But they wern't long because he wanted to win the debate (just a side note, if you're on a debate online, dont EVER simply write a wall of text or copy n paste from wikipedia. That doesn't work.), he would also deconstruct each of the points of the other side and obliterate them. Lets get into the journal that started it all.

Now, 345rv5 has been around before he made the journal, but in my opinon this was the review that started everything. This was his Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde. I've read all of his journals. Anime and video games was his thing earlier on. He didn't start making political videos until around 2012/2013. This day marks the ten year anniversary of him making that journal.

It really set off his channel (or should I say page). I guarentee that if he had a youtube channel, he would be filthy rich, even with youtube's ad-pocalypse and whatnot.

He started off ranting about shows and movies, essentially pointing out all of the flaws. Some notable things he's ranted about were Cartoon Network and Super Mario Live Action movie.

Anime Recaps and Reviews

Weekly Shonen Recap :RECAP !

Anime and Manga was his passion. He almost exclusively watched anime, some of his favourites were Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon. Others shows, such as Bleach not so much. There's not much to say on this part, but if you enjoy anime, you'll enjoy his reviews.

Rivalries

As time passed on, he began showing everyone his insane debating skills. This caused many people to hold grudges toward him. He began his series BDTDT/BSTDT (Bigots Do/say the dumbest things) and a subseries FTSTDT (Fantards say the dumbest things) and RFSTDT (Radical Feminists Say The Dumbest Things. He also started shorter series entitled "Concentrated Stupidity", which ended shortly.

Watching him take part in these debates that lasted over months was actually pretty entertaining. He's debated people such as Arrnacar Fighter, DragonoftheEastBlue (which apparently made a youtube video), BrianaBater, Insanity123 (didn't get a journal), Sychtemantis, and Party999999. The debate between him and Party999999 lasted for over a year. It ended in 2016, when Party99999 made a final response, and called it quits.

The topics of these debates covered politics. When it wasn't that, he would literally go in depth on how strong a character is, using math equations and Science to justify his claims.

And no, I'm not insulting any of thse people. Hell for a debate to last that long meant that they put up a good fight and must've good points.

Unfortunately, with so many debates online someone was eventually going to make a page on Encyclopedia Dramatica about him.

Before I start, I will say that I'm suprised that I don't have a page on Encylopedia Dramatica. I should've gotten one a few years back when I got into a big fight in the complaints forum, but now that I'm fading away into nothing, I'm probably never gonna get one. That's good I guess. But an Encyclopedia Dramatica page really only shows the worst in people.

Even when he got banned from DA, he still occasionally called people out here on this site from tumblr (such as OddGarfield and Aknaton-II)

The Story, Political Views, and Removal from DA

Earlier on, 345rv5 was a liberal. He was the same kind of liberal as The Amazing Athiest, as in, he wasn't a SJW, they didn't believe in white privilege or any of that garbage. Instead, they only believed in green privilege. (I dont know if TJ still believes that given I haven't watched his videos in months)

He still is a egaliratian, and one of his sickest ownages was his DESTROYING someone who insulted and slut shamed SHE-HULK by calling her a whore.

He was a true EGALITARIAN. Trust me, you will not find a bigger equalist than 345rv5 on the internet. He has stood up for atheists, women, men, people of colour, whites, Religious people, you name it. Every one of those instances I wholeheartedly agreed with.

After time passed, he slowly distanced himself from the left. He is a firm supporter of AllLivesMatter. This however, would cause him to get banned permanently from the site.

I was beyond angry when that happened. But its been over 3 years and it is what is I guess. After being banned from DA, he made a tumblr account. This is where he REALLY shifted away from the left. 1 year later in 2016, He came out as a supporter of Trump weeks away from the election day. At that point I was still sceptical of Trump but I do admit that people have retarded reasons for hating him. I believe he still identifies as a liberal, but honestly, it hard to be considered a liberal or a leftist at this point because the left keeps fucking up for themselves. Paul Joseph Watson said Conservatism is the new counter culture, and I totally agree. Its popular to be left leaning these days.

The arguement The Amazing Athiest had with Hunter Avallone really shows that sides have switched. It used to be a younger liberal vs a older conservative. Now its a younger conservative vs an older liberal.

But furthermore, 345rv5 continued making posts on tumblr. These were very similar to the posts he made here. This went on until Tumblr shot itself and got rid of pornographic content.

After that, he migrated to another website.

What made him great?

I think it was his ability to debate made him great. He would fucking decimate people. But he would only do that if you had horrible opinions. His followers were literally like familiy, everyone digged in to help him stand up to abusive admins. When he got banned, everyone was upset. What’s the smell of your shampoo?

I have no idea? I changed it recently, and its a quite chemical smell that I can’t recognize or associate to anything. It’s not bad though

What’s your aesthetic?

I love a creative mix between classic and avant-garde. I love fashion and art, so I really appreciate things that are different, outside the box or pushing the limits of creativity. But at the same time, I like to balance that out with timeless aspects, that I know won’t fade within 6 months. I basically like to keep an eye out for new ideas, will gladly adopt whatever I like, even if is umcoventional, but I will never follow trends.

In terms of dressing, I really value comfort. Like, I love dressing up, but I refuse to be in pain or uncomfortable just to achieve a certain look

What do you love most about the beach?

I grew up in a small town by the beach, where everyone wanted to spend every day of summer break laying on the sand. So I used to find the beach boring as hell, because I never got to do anything else. Now that I’ve moved to the city, I can finally appreciate it. I still don’t understand how/why people want to spend every single day at the beach for 3 months straight, but I love how relaxing and easy it is.

But my favorite might be the quietness of the beach in sunny winter days or to look at the ocean when the weather is really bad - there’s beauty in an angry sea!

What worries you constantly?

Pretty much everything! I do suffer from anxiety and often have to take medication for it. But I would say the future, in general. Im 26 yo and I constantly worry about what kind of life Im building for myself. Im not exactly and the place I would like to be and I worry if I’ll ever get there.

I just hope that regardless of the destination, I can enjoy the ride

What are some relaxation tips for your followers?

Get reeeeeeeeally cozy and take time to do things you love. Like, put on some comfortable clothes, wrap yourself up in your favorite blanket, light up a scented candle and indulge in anything you feel like - watch your favorite movie or some cartoons, paint, draw, spend an awful lot of time being unproductive online, read fanfiction, listen to you favorite record, play with your pets, whatever you want. Its your moment. You deserve it!

What tears you up?

Anything if its the middle of the night and I can’t sleep. Other than that, I don’t cry that easily. My exceptions are: - Weddings (Ill probably cry watching strangers get married online!)

-Dodo’s videos of rescued animals

-Athletes crying when they retire (I think Im still crying from Totti’s last game tbh)

What are some troubles you face on a daily basis?

Probably my anxiety. Im aware that I’ve already accomplished so much in my life even if Im not exactly where I wanted to be, but my stupid brain wont let me see it. But the good thing is - Im working on it. I genuinely want to feel better and be happy and I’ll never give up on that fight, so I know that better days will come.

What is the one scene for a book that made you?

so you want to make a twitter (part 2)

tweeting

i’ve seen a few guides on twitter for new twitter users, which is nice, but something about having the posts being things you had to finds on twitter--a new site for the people who needed those guides--seemed unhelpful to me. so, i figured id make a small series of guides of my own here for anyone considering a move (or just making an account) who dont know how

this is a series of posts, since im going to be sort of detailed, so feel free to use just the pieces you need. ill tag them all “lews twitter tutorials” so you can find them on my blog

this is written under the assumption that youve read part 1 of this mini guide series, and dont know anything about twitter or any other social media site but tumblr

ill put it under a cut to save your space, but here’s the most important feature of twitter: tweeting!

so, tweeting. this is something you obviously have to know how to do. this is how to make a tweet, differences between tumblr and twitter, and how to interact with a tweet

so, making one! when you make a new tweet on mobile, the screen looks like this

(the icons are p much the same whether you use mobile or desktop, so it doesnt matter which i use)

first, the tweet itself! tweets can only be up to 280 characters, and cant be edited once you post them. theres no feature to bold, italicize, underline, or add linked text in twitter, so its not as good as tumblr for stuff like that, unfortunately.

here’s what the icons at the bottom do, from left to right

- pictures! this is sort of straightforward: it lets you add pictures. a tweet can only contain either 4 pictures, 1 gif, or 1 video. you cant have a gif and a picture, or a picture and a video.

a note for artists! twitter is known to compress image quality when images are uploaded, BUT there is a workaround! if you have even one single transparent pixel, your image wont be compressed.

a note for everyone! you can enable image transcription captions in settings (Settings > Accessibility > compose image descriptions). this allows you to type a short image description to any image you post, if you choose to. it’s a feature i recommend you have on and try to use for your followers who might have worse vision!

- gif keyboard! this image is a search for reaction gifs, basically. i almost never use it bc i can usually never find the specific gif im looking for...

- polls! tis is a feature i like about twitter! it allows you to conduct anonymous polls with up to four options. you can set a time limit and leave it up to allow people to respond. settle arguments between you and your friends or get opinions!

you cant post an image and a poll in the same tweet, so if you want opinions on something in an image, just have the poll be a reply to your tweet

- location! you can add your current location to any tweet. ive had this disabled for so long i genuinely dont know like... anything about this.

listen, im trying my best

- the little circle at the bottom which is grey with a dot of blue is the character counter. the circle is grey when empty, and gets bluer as you tweet. it wont count out how many characters you have left until youre within 20 of being full, in which case itll let you know so you dont go over the limit.

- finally, theres the + icon, which is for making threads. it lets you edit multiple tweets at once, connected in a string. threads are helpful for a lot of reasons!

if you have information to share, then put it together in a thread! if one tweet in a thread is retweeted, it’s marked as being part of a thread. this will encourage readers to look at the rest!

if you like to livetweet series, put it in a thread! this allows you to keep all your livetweets in one place, and also allows people following you to mute the thread if they arent interested

- i also know on mobile if you close out with the X, you can save a tweet to drafts to edit and post later. i dont know if you can do this on desktop because i never use desktop, and when i have, i couldnt ever find the drafts thing. i know if you delete the app, all your drafts are deleted, too

WELL, now that youve got the basics on a tweet....

interacting with the tweets of others

okay, heres a bit on what buttons do what, and some Twitter Manners

here’s our sample tweet, posted. this isnt how it appears on the timeline, but how it appears once you click it, so i can show the full range of things you can do with a tweet.

you can see the tweet, who posted it, and the date/time, and other stuff

- profile. top left. if you click the icon/display name/handle of the op, you can go to their profile!

- menu. see the little arrow in the top right corner? thats a menu.

on your own tweet, you can delete the tweet here, pin it to your profile, or mute it. muting a tweet means you no longer get notifications when someone interacts with it

on someone else’s tweet, you can follow or unfollow the op of the tweet, mute the op, block the op, or report the tweet

in the bottom row....

- theres tweet activity. it only shows up on your own tweet, and lets you see how many people have seen your tweet.

- below this would tell you how many likes and retweets your tweet got, but no one liked or retweeted my wonderful tweet for some strange reason, so i cant show you

worth noting, if your account is on private, you wont show up in the notifications of people who arent following you

now for the buttons

- the speech bubble is replies! that lets you repy to the tweet

worth saying, if you reply to a retweet or conversation, its important to be sure to un-@ the people who you arent talking to. when you reply to someone, at the top of the reply it will list everyone youre replying to. click the little names and unclick the check boxes by the names of those not involved, and youre good to go! not doing this is considered rude/annoying

- next, retweeting! retweeting is sort of like reblogging. you retweet another tweet so it shows up on your own account. you can retweet without comment, which brings the tweet as is, or with comment, which allows you to add your own sort of caption. the op of the tweet will nto be notified for any replies, likes, or retweets on a comment retweet

a note! people often do retweets with comments on stuff like news stories to add their own commentary/jokes

another note! DO NOT do this to art by artists, even if youre doing it to be nice! a lot of artists, especially international artists, find this incredibly rude, as it takes away attention and retweets from the art itself. if you want to share art, just retweet. if you want to say something nice, just tell them in replies!

its not uncommon for people to retweet something without comment, then make a tweet of their own to comment on them.these tweets generally start with LRT (last retweet)

- likes are pretty simple. you press the like button and you like the post. one thing thats different from tumblr to twitter, though, is twitter has a feature that shows your likes (and that you liked them) to your followers (if they havent disabled it).

- the share button allows you to share tweets! you can DM them to your friends, bookmark them (this is good for articles and such), or copy the link to share elsewhere.

and... that concludes tweeting!

oki dokey! its honestly p simple one u memorize the Steps! (if there’s anything you’re still ?? abt pls pls message me! im bad at typing out instructions so like jfjajfhgowigowa im scared i’ll leave u MORE confused mfmmgg) !!!

i’ll use my lil red riding chan gif to show you!!!

1) open up the video

open up whatever video you plan on giffing !! (”file” > “navigate” > open up whatever video it is you want to gif!)

2) cutting to the scene you want

using the snipping tool, you’ll cut the video where you want to start the gif. then you’ll let it play till where you want the gif to end! and hit the scissor icon again. now you’ll have the desired clip.

now you’ll have 3 ‘layers’ in the layers tab. you can go ahead and delete the top and bottom layers so you only have the middle layer (the one i have highlighted)!

(side note: if you’re trying to get it PRECISE and down to the frame, using the toggles that allow you to go from frame to frame is helpful!

this’ll let you get it down to precisely where you’d like!)

3) getting the frames

(make sure the layer is highlighted)

so you see the four lil lines? you click on those and you’ll get a drop down menu.

so as i’ve highlighted, you’ll click on “convert frames” and then “flatten frames into clips”

you will now have the frames from the video! ok, now you click on the “convert to frame animation” button! (the one i’ve circled)

now your timeline should look like this:

now going back to the four little lines from earlier:

you’re going to “make frames from layers”

your timeline should now be filled with all the frames from your video!

(side note: try to keep your gif less than 80 frames. the bigger your gif the bigger the file the more trouble you’ll have saving, uploading, etc. tumblr has a limit on size for gifs so ! be very wary ! )

4) timing

so every frame has a lil time code on it!

as you can see, the first one is 1.27 seconds, the second is 0 seconds- i can’t speak for every gifmaker, so i’ll just say what kind of speeds i personally use. i really prefer a little bit of a slower gif- to me it feels a little smoother and is easier on the eyes, and if you’re adding text to your gif, then the reader has a bit more time to read (if your subs change in the middle or smth)

so going back to our four lil lines

you click on “select all frames” (or you can click on the first frame, scroll to the end of the frames and while holding your ‘shift’ key, you click on the last frame; has the same result!) now, you go to the lil drop down arrow next to the time code on any of the frames, and input your time settings!

i use the setting of 0.07 seconds! its a little slower. some people do ‘0.05′ and some people will leave the gif at its original speed (which is ‘0′ second delay) !!!

and now you hit ‘ok’ and your times should all be the same! at this point, give the frames a once over and see if everything is running fine and you have all the frames you want, by clicking on the play button and seeing how it looks.

(side note: make sure that your looping times is set to ‘Forever’!!!)

if everything is fine then you can move on! if you think that you’d like to remove some frames then you can select those frames individually (or by the clicking and shift method from earlier) and using the lil trash icon. you can delete those frames! now you should have all the frames you want!

5) cropping + resizing

from your tools sidebar, you’ll pick the crop tool

in the bar along the top of the screen, you’ll see a lil drop down menu

okay, this is also another preference thing? so like, depending on the set you’re making, you might want like a different size!

in the first gif, i used ‘W x H x Resolution’ option, whereas the second gif i used the ‘4:5 (8:10)’ ratio! so like, its v dependent on what kind of gif you’re making. for 2x2 or 3x3 sets i tend to use 4:5 while single sets i use a free ratio so i can crop how i’d prefer the gif to look!

so with the red riding hood gif i used the ‘4:5′ ratio!

when you choose an option, you’ll get this sort of screen

if you click once, you’ll be given a grid and the ability to now resize!!!

when you’re happy with your selection, you can click the checkmark i circled in the first picture, and it’ll crop your image!

yay!! okay! now you have to resize the image! so you go to the top of the screen and you choose: ‘Image’

from here you’ll choose ‘Image Size’ or alternatively hit ‘ALT + CTRL + I’

you’ll get this dialogue box !!! where you can now imput your width (the height will automatically resize!)

alright so for sets, i’m not too sure about other ppl, but i resize my gifs following this usually!

500 pixels == 1 gif

245 pixels == 2 gifs side by side

160 pixels == 3 gifs side by side

those sizes usually look fine on tumblr and also work well with the image size limit!!!

(i resized this gif to 245px because i was putting 2 gifs side by side!)

after you’ve imputed the size, you can now hit okay! you’ll get this dialogue box:

go ahead and tick the ‘don’t show again’ and then click ‘Convert’

6) sharpening

okay, normally, you’d have to go through frame by frame and sharpen, but ; v ; your time gets eaten tf up so like… this is just the way i sharpen all the frames at the same time!!

so go ahead and select everything in your time line, either by the shift++click method or by going to the ‘select all frames’, and then go over to the layers panel and click on the bottom most frame, then scroll to the top and while holding shift, click on the top most frame.

everything should be selected like this!

go the four lines again and click on the convert to video timeline

your timeline should now look like this:

okay, now, going back to your top bar, you’ll pick ‘Filter’

and then click on ‘Convert for Smart Filters’

(side note: you’ll get another dialogue box i believe, so just tick the do not show and go ahead and continue)

clicking on filter again, you’ll go down to ‘Sharpen’ and then ‘Smart Sharpen’. you should get another dialogue box

these are the settings that i use! and once you put them in, you can go ahead and press okay, and your gif will be sharpened

(side note: there’s only SO much that sharpening can do to your gif. the best scenario: you have a video thats 1080p and the sharpening will add. but if your video quality isn’t the greatest then be understanding, ps can only do so much… also !!! some ppl sharpen twice, if you think it’ll look good you can go ahead and do that!!! i prefer to sharpen once, so that it doesn’t get too grainy!!!)

your gif is now sharpened!!!

7) colouring

uhh this one i can’t give you too many instructions for?? bc every gifmaker tends to have their own colouring style. it’ll really be up to your discretion and preference on how you colour things!!!

these are the tools when it comes to colouring!!! you can like… go to town and test different colourings! i shit you not… this is what takes me the LONGEST during giffing now.. like once i had the process down?? i was like ???? what should i make the colouring???

this is what i had on this specific gif- every video will vary and you’ll soon figure out what colourings suit what videos or lightings or etc !!!

8) watermarking (optional)

this is optional but like………. in this day and age…………………….

so you select the text tool and you just type your url in whatever font you want???

these are the settings i use!!! and then i set the ‘Opacity’ at however much i think is suitable. (darker gifs, i might make the watermark a lil less visible, whereas brighter gifs i’ll make it a lil stronger!)

9) saving to the web

YAY! we’re done! you made the gif! pat your back!!!

mm okay now you have to save it !! so you can either do ‘CTRL++SHIFT++ALT++S’ or!!!

‘File > Export > Save for Web (Legacy)’

your gif will take a moment to render, but when it does you’ll get this screen!!!

these are the settings you should adjust to !!!

(side note: pay attention to the size !!

above certain mb your gif will be too big to upload !!! and tumblr will give you an error and tell you to try sizing down!!!)

also make sure:

that it says ‘Forever’ !!!!

and finally !! give your gif a play by clicking on the play button! make sure everything is fine and that your gif loops, and everything looks how you want it!!!

if you’re happy with how everything looks!

click save !!!

you can chose where you wanna save it and name it aptly !!!

10) BASK IN YOUR AWESOMENESS!!! (AKA: uploading your gif)

i wont explain this but now u get to upload your !! gif to tumblr!! eee :D

ahh anon u flatter me!! thank you for your kind words!!! i honestly have ways to go, but it means a lot that u say this thank you

so for starters i have a mac + photoshop cs5 so a lot of this tutorial will be based on what you do for that, but i’m sure u could do the same thing on pcs (actually pcs have more programs available so i highly recommend, if u have a pc, finding a tutorial that is based around pcs) and other photoshop versions too! but i think the general process is still the same, a different tutorial might just be more nuanced^^

1. Finding/downloading your video~so for normal mp4 videos on youtube i use this website. it’s pretty useful it can download from actually a wide variety of sites like naver (up till 1080p!) ~for v app videos i use this site~ts files i find on kpopexciting or kpop24hrs (u need an account for kpop24hrs i think to download video but! signing up isnt difficult and its nothing fishy. i use it a lot esp for older ts files it has a good archive, kpopexciting tends to be faster though.)~the higher quality files you find the better! i find that it tends to go mp4~honestly finding the right high quality video is a HUGE part of making gifs look nice2. Extracting your video~there are many many many ways to extract your video but I highly recommend downloading avisynth! There are ways to download it for pc! avisynth is beautiful because it doesn’t really reduce the quality of your video to the extent that photoshop does, plus it can extract 60fps from ts files. some gifs ive made through avisynth ( x x x ) if you’re interested in avisynth further, tumblr user @/brandinator is a good place to start! if you want to know more regarding how to use it and a different tutorial through that, let me know! ~now i’m not sure if there is an avisynth tutorial for mac anymore, BUT theres another great program, vapoursynth, that mac users can look into. here’s a tutorial that i’ve found~Before I got avisynth I used VLC player for ts files but I had to basically screenshot each frame individually. Some gifs I’ve made through this method ( x x x ). these gifs are 60fps only bc i found a user who uploaded the ts file in 60fps. usually you cant get 60fps w/o avisynth. but this is also me saying that if you cant get avisynth or vapoursynth, there are still ways to work around it i think! one of my fav giffers for the longest time didnt use either!! and sharpening and coloring were always on point.~I think pcs can use kmplayer? id look into that if you have a pc~for normal mp4 videos I just use photoshops ‘import video frames to layers’ option (under file in the menubar)! you can use avisynth as well, but for me it takes forever to extract what i want in avisynth (minimum like a minute ish), whereas ps can get the part of the video i want to gif in a couple of seconds. I think it’s self explanatory but basically you find the video you want to extract, find where u want ur gif to start, and for photoshop cs5, you hit the ‘shift’ key and let the part u want giffed in the video play. when youre done u lift the shift key and hit ‘ok’ (idk if it differs for different versions of ps). i extract all!!! frames!! it makes it look smoother too :)

3. Coloring/Sharpening/Cropping/Etc~now this is the step that I can’t really give a tutorial on because honestly it varies for everyone! but i feel that this is the step that a lot of ppl need guidance with (me included) because it is the hardest step, probably because it is so ‘up in the air’ for lack of a better word? there is no one right way of doing it the possibilities are literally endless but here are some tips~Coloring: ~most important rule: don’t whitewash ur gifs!! ~other than that, the world is yours. ~honestly have fun with this part! coloring is something that i haven’t fully learned yet ~i tend to play around mainly with the curves, selective color, hue/saturation, and color balance layers ~you can also download psds other ppl have made (i dont do this myself) and use those! ~also i feel that a lot of the times, the right coloring can make ur gif seem higher quality. coloring can also play a role in reducing gif size if u do it correctly. ~honestly this part is just a lot of experimentation, over the course of a gifset and over the course of time in general. some people find their coloring style easily, but i was not one of those people. ive spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to adjust what layers to get the colors that i want and i think only as of this era ive been able to execute the coloring i had pictured in my mind. so patience is a virtue!!! ~Sharpening: ~ah yes my biggest enemy: sharpening ~first things first, i sharpen my gifs using smart sharpen + topaz ~settings for my smart sharpen are 500%; 0.4 ~check the box that says ‘more accurate’ and i personally remove ‘gaussian blur’ ~some people also use topaz denoise, and/or topaz clean ~ honestly topaz is a lifesaver for me bc it smoothes out a lot of grain that can be introduced via coloring! also!!! it can reduce gif size by a lot!!!!!!!!!!! ~on topaz denoise i hit the ‘light’ setting on the side and adjust the settings accordingly ~idk how to use topaz clean even though I have it, because it refuses to work ~to apply topaz you have to hit ‘flatten frames into layers’ ~some gifs i’ve made with just topaz and no avisynth ( x x x x) ~there are ways to make it look nice without topaz but i’ve forgotten how after i got it ~id duplicate the frame then use smart sharpen and ‘gaussian blur’ under ‘blur’ ~then adjust the opacity levels in some way. ~my settings for the opacity levels aren’t good so i’ll refrain from sharing ~some gifs ive made through this method ( x x ) ~last but not least i’ll bring up avisynth again. avisynth is nice at preserving video quality ~a lot of ppl i know say they don’t even sharpen gifs out of avisynth ~here are some gifs i have made with avisynth + topaz ( x x x x x x x ) ~honestly when it comes to sharpening, im still floundering with it. my sharpening needs a lot of work but, amongst the people who i consider good sharpners, most of them use avisynth, topaz denoise and/or clean, and smart sharpen! so all the resources are here !

~Cropping: ~it’s super important to follow tumblr dimensions otherwise gifs come out looking grainy! even when they’re not ! (case in point: x in which i used 168 instead of 178 for the dimensions)~Timing: ~Timing is so important!!! I almost forgot!! Always make sure u dont have duplicate frames for starters! for 60fps source videos i use .03, for mp4s i typically use .04 but sometimes the frame rate is kinda funky so you may have to go slower accordingly! and the important thing about timing is that if u use smart object, when u save ur gif, it’ll be in a different timing? like .04 gets changed to .07 but in order to fix that, u can simply just save ur gif in the wrong timing, and then reopen the gif in ps, simply change the timing to what u want on all ur frames, and then save it again!! idk if that made any sense but laskdjf this was the biggest mystery for me for so long omg4. Saving the gif~personally the save settings I use are “Selective/Adaptive” ; “Diffusive”; Dither: 100%; 256 colors. sometimes this makes the gif super grainy so i use “pattern” instead of “diffusive” in those instances5. Pray Perseverance ~a lot of the time when you’re giffing, gifs won’t come out the way you want it (i’m sure for every gifset i’ve uploaded on tumblr, there’s a gifset that i started making and never finished because it looked really bad). idk sometimes it feels like photoshop has its own will, sharpenings wont always work the same way each time, video quality won’t be the way you want it, i’m honestly still very experimental right now I don’t have ps figured out at all. so yeah…sometimes all u can do is that when u hit that save for web button (that ruins everything alskf), pray that ps doesnt mess it up too bad ahahaha but also that even when it does, its okay and you can try again! or try something new!

Creating an Album Cover - Shagg’s Own Thing

The main aim for this brief was to design an album cover. Before I knew what band we would be designing for, I had a little look at some album art on my spotify that I liked to give me some ideas.

Some observations I made in my search was that generally (at least in the music that I listen to) the more famous the artist is, the more likely they are to feature photography and/or portraiture of the artist. For example, the David Bowie album is all about David Bowie, whereas all of Tom Rosenthals albums feature artwork by illustrators and don’t tend to feature any portraiture of him.

I thought that the use of text was pretty interesting on these album covers. In most of them, the text is really small, but in some of them, the text is intergrated within the image and is larger. Something I did find looking through my spotify was that text is getting smaller through time on album covers. (Again, this is just from the music that I listen to, this may not be a trend in general) Back in the 70s and 80s, it seemed there was a lot of text on the album cover, often with big graphic titles, such as in this album: United - by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

But in more modern album covers, there seems to be smaller and less text, sometimes none at all, such as this one by Lizzo.

The Shaggs - Shaggs Own Thing

If you have never heard of The Shaggs, enjoy what time you have left not knowing them. A day doesn’t go by now without my Spotify trying to play The Shaggs at me.

These are the Shaggs.

Our brief was to create an album cover for their album “Shaggs Own Thing”

Firstly, I played the album through my headphones and just started drawing what felt right. Then, my tutor gave the class prompts to draw (draw a collection of objects that you feel relate to the music, draw the setting you think this music should be played, draw some shapes that go with the music etc.) These prompts really helped me come up with ideas that I otherwise wouldn’t have necessarily thought of, and the spontaneity of drawing with ink and a brush really helped to draw things in a more simple, yet more abstract way, which I really enjoyed. This technique is definitely something I want to take forward to future projects.

These were my drawings from this exercise. My favourite elements were foot-foot in the bottom picture, and the wiggly trees and sun in the top picture. I thought that these elements really summed up my view of the shaggs, and I also thought that they would work quite nicely together in a scene.

I took these elements and started to put some rough ideas together.

I wanted to use quite big text in my ideas to go with a lot of the other 70s album covers that I had looked at previously.

I was planning on trying out a few of my ideas from this selection, but I started with the top right one, and I was really happy with how it turned out once I played around with it a bit, so I stuck with it.

I played around with a few colour options but I was most happy with the 70s, brown and yellow theme in this last one. I think that the colour scheme works well with the themes in the music, as well as the era it was written in.

With hindsight, I now wish I had tried out some of my other ideas before sticking with this one, as I think some of my other ideas had some more potential than I initially thought. That being said, I did have fun with this design and I am still happy with the finished result.

We then had a few lessons learning how to animate elements of our work, we practised two different ways of animating, layer-as-frame on photoshop as well as rotoscoping also using photoshop. This was my attempt at making a gif using layer-to-frame animation in our first workshop.

Unfortunately, my attempt at rotoscoping from our second workshop didn’t save properly and Tumblr wont let me upload a video from my folder (I took a video of it on my phone).

I then used these animation skills to animate my album cover.

I think for my first attempt of using animation, it isn’t too bad. It is definitely something I want to experiment with more in the future.

Momma Damy Bee needs your attention!

Hey, Damy here. So some of you already know what has been going on the past weekend.. If you don't know what has been going on recently check the last two Tumblr text posts posted on this blog, but anyways I'll explain it.

Just the week that passed, (not my family but my dad to be more specific) grabbed my iPad without my consent and therefore found out about everything that was held in it. Artwork for The Onydex Trilogy, references for different web comics, logos for both web comics and some YT shows I host, etc.. which obviously needed a lot of explanation. The thing that worried me is that he doesn't know about my YT channel and my social media was a secret, not to my entire family, but to my dad. As you guys have seen in the past few posts, he is strict with these kind of stuff by reasons that I don't want to rephrase over again. He sat me down and wanted an explanation of all of that. I was extremely weak and numb on that moment to being able to explain anything. Not because I didn't want to but because I couldn't both physically and mentally. Most of my friends already know this part so far. Since I didn't give an explanation, he asked me to delete everything and to cleanse my iPad otherwise he'll do it. And I felt horrible mostly because I wasn't able to post The Onydex Trilogy as I was supposed to.

Now here's the update..

I'm considering.. not coming back but considering posting stuff from time to time when I'm not around my family. Yes, guys. It'll be a secret again to my dad specifically and here's why:

If I ask him: "oH dAd c-Can I pOst wEbComiCs AnD vIdeOs aGaiN oN my SocIal MedIa??" Not only he'll disapprove or will keep his eye on me, but he'll be like: "yOu hAve sOciAl MedIa tHat I dOnt kkNow oFFf!!??" Yes, guys. He doesn't know of my social media. When he saw my iPad as I said earlier I couldn't give an explanation of anything because I was both physically and mentally weak. All that I could say was "Yes. No. I don't know.. It's just a practice doodle/video." I didn't want him to check my social media because him checking my iPad was enough stress for me.

So, back to the subject. I wouldn't say that I'm coming back but more that I'm posting fanart and stuff that I like from time to time. I'll be coming back step by step. Now here's some stuff I wanna clarify.

Let's say that everything will be back to normal but this time I'm taking more drastic measures in order for my dad not to know BUT if he finds out I'll stand up to him because this is what I love to do.

Stuff that won't continue and why:

-Foreign Fire: This was based on a dream which was interpreted on a web comic who I had the help from someone. If you're fan of this comic and REALLY want to see how this story concludes I suggest you look at @foreignfireofficial and see one of the first rebbloged posts.

-Requests/Free commissions: I have enough in my hands to being able to manage to get some time for requests and such. All the artwork I'll do and post will be for either a project, web comic, fanart, etc. I'll ONLY accept your request if it's meant to appear on a video or some project per say.

-Discord server: I'm not going to redo something that doesn't have a popular demand. I'll just redo it if my fans/followers really wish for one. So for now I'll be on Cole's server so far.

Stuff that will continue/is still on stake:

-As you can see I'm back on charge of my social media so you can contact me here as if was meant to be.

-Spaceling: This web comic has received some positive feedback and has been around the community with a popular demand. For now it's on hiatus and it'll come back sometime next year. Either way, it was already decided by the co-writers and me to have this long hiatus for us to rest.

-YT channel content: Stuff will be posted from time to time as I always do so it's not a big of a difference. I'm not entirely sure if I'll be able to find a proper schedule to do covers/comic dubs/etc, but I'll try my best. Btw, I'll post a video explaining this post so if you wanna see it, stay tuned. Same with Scriptless! Right now Scriptless is on hiatus because us three have stuff to do and need to find a time to get together per say.

-Fanart/artwork: Yes! This'll definitely come back! Some stuff might change but I'll say it's pretty much the same.

-The Onydex Trilogy: As I said when my iPad was cleansed, I lost the two videos that were supposed to be uploaded that day. HOWEVER, I saved five Spanish-translated songs from The Masquerade on my Google Drive (Intro/Rabbit Hole, Worry For Naught, Tranquil, Road (this one was hard to made) and The Masquerade. I still have the files on my Gmail of the artwork for The Onydex Trilogy made by @ipskrimson and the vocals by @flappy007 for soNGS I WONT SPOIL. I'll find a time to post those two songs I won't spoil and it'll be one-shot thing, meaning I'll record, edit, post and then erase from my iPad thing, all in one day. Trust me I've done this before. I don't want this effort to go to waste. It won't be called The Onydex Trilogy, it'll just be a Spanish cover of those two songs. Later on the future I'll post a video with the five songs saved on my Google Drive.

And more important update, my YT channel name won't longer be "Winx Onydex" now it is.. *drum roll* "The Onydex."

(I'll suggest you change my YT channel name if I've ever done a collab with you, but that's up to you.)

In conclusion...

You could say that I'm coming back but a lot of things are going to change regarding schedule, time of procedure and the times I post. But I'll say it's pretty much the same. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. And as to how am I feeling..? I couldn't feel even greater.. ✨

As to who inspired me to do this?

Coloring/Sharpening/Cropping/Etc~now this is the step that I can’t really give a tutorial on because honestly it varies for everyone! but i feel that this is the step that a lot of ppl need guidance with (me included) because it is the hardest step, probably because it is so ‘up in the air’ for lack of a better word? there is no one right way of doing it the possibilities are literally endless but I think i will give u some tips~Coloring: ~most important rule: don’t whitewash ur gifs!! ~other than that, the world is yours. ~honestly have fun with this part! coloring is something that i haven’t fully learned yet ~i tend to play around mainly with exposure, levels and selective color. ~my main goal when i color is to get a ‘realistic’ view of how the person may have looked ~this usually means that i do whatever i can to get rid of video filters ~for generic gifs i think it’s important to find what your goal is when you are coloring ~do you want something realistic looking? negative space? coherent color schemes? ~you can also download psds other ppl have made (i dont do this myself) and use those! ~caution: changing the colors too much can result in super grainy gifs if you aren’t careful~Sharpening: ~ah yes my biggest enemy: sharpening ~first things first, i sharpen my gifs using smart sharpen + topaz ~settings for my smart sharpen are 500%; 0.4 ~check the box that says ‘more accurate’ and i personally remove ‘gaussian blur’ ~caution: more sharpening = more grain ~sadly i am super duper duper dependent on topaz (a plug in) for sharpening ~people use topaz denoise, and/or topaz clean ~on topaz denoise i adjust clean color all the way to 0, ~then i adjust ‘overall strength’ and ‘reduce blur’ to whatever looks nice in the preview ~idk how to use topaz clean even though I have it, because it refuses to work ~to apply topaz you have to hit ‘flatten frames into layers’ ~some gifs i’ve made with topaz (x x x x) ~there are ways to make it look nice without topaz but i’ve forgotten how after i got it ~id duplicate the frame then use smart sharpen and ‘gaussian blur’ under ‘blur’ ~then adjust the opacity level in some way lasldf idr ~some gifs ive made through this method (x x x x) ~last but not least i’ll bring up avisynth again. avisynth is nice at preserving video quality ~a lot of ppl i know say they don’t even sharpen gifs out of avisynth~Cropping: ~it’s super important to follow tumblr dimensions otherwise gifs come out looking grainy! even when they’re not !4. Saving the gif~personally the save settings I use are “Selective/Adaptive” ; “Diffusive”; Dither: 100%; 256 colors5. Pray ~a lot of the time when you’re giffing, gifs won’t come out the way you want it (i’m sure for every gifset i’ve uploaded on tumblr, there’s a gifset that i started making and never finished because it looked really bad). idk sometimes it feels like photoshop has its own will, sharpenings wont always work the same way each time, video quality won’t be the way you want it, i’m honestly still very experimental right now I don’t have ps figured out at all. so yeah…sometimes all u can do is that when u hit that save for web button (that ruins everything alskf) that ps doesnt mess it up too bad

Before I actually get started with this blog I’m going to address what type of content I’ll be posting on this blog (though I don't have many followers yet lol)

Scenarios

Usually I’ll write scenarios because I’ve came up with this insanely good plot or a picture or something inspired me to write a story about whatever.

Though, you can request anything you’d want me to write, but don’t expect good action stories because I’m typically not good at those.

Jimin watches the pale boy sitting behind the piano gracefully moving his hands to hit every key with each finger, never missing a note.

He couldn’t take his eyes off him, not the piano, but him, Min Yoongi. There was something about the blonde haired older that makes Jimin’s heart flutter even if he never had the courage to talk to him in person.

He’s mesmerized from his beauty which is admired from a mile away and as always it was at the concerts that Yoongi mostly held in his hometown.

His concerts never last long enough as Jimin wish they could continue on forever.

Yoongi’s fingers smoothly strikes the last chord of the song, sitting still as he lets the chord echo through the auditorium.

Jimin watches as the blonde haired boy bows in front of the cheering audience and walks off stage for the next act to perform.

Of course, Jimin wasn’t going to stay to listen to them though.

He walks outside in the freezing cold where the rain continusly pours like hell from the sky.

Jimin places his cold hands in his nearly worn out gray jacket with his head down to block the rain from hitting his face, but it didn’t really matter he was soon to be soaked since he had to walk home without an umbrella.

Upon walking with he his head down, he bumped into a figure and he immediately began to apologize when he looked up to see his idol, Min Yoongi, bending down right in front of him…but the thing is he was too star struck to realize that he accidentally knocked Yoongi’s sheet music down onto the wet concrete.

“Great. What fuckery is this !” Yoongi yells at Jimin, picking up his music before they could become unreadable from the heavy downpour of the rain.

“O-Oh, Yoongi, I’m sorry!” Jimin bows, picking up the remains of soggy music sheets.

Jimin starts to feel quite upset when Yoongi pushes him away.

“Move.” This wasn’t how he planned to meet THE Min Yoongi at least not as how he meet him in his dreams.

“You’ve done enough.. by ruining things.” Jimin’s heart sank in his chest when Yoongi walks away not daring to look Jimin in his eyes and take back what he said. Though for some reason Yoongi really wanted to turn around to apologize for being rude but his conscious reminded him that the historical music in his hand is now ruined.

Now you have at least a good feeling of how my writing is...

Fake Posts/Accounts/Messages

I have an iPod and on that iPod I have installed an app that allows you to make a fake Instagram, iMessage’s, Snapchat’s, Tweets, Facebook Posts, Tumblr’s, Vines, YouTube Channels, and all that good stuff. As you can see in my edit up there in the little photo header, I made a quick little scenario where you and Jungkook had an argument and you broke up. Although I couldn't put the entire argument I used the end where Jungkook is officially d-o-n-e done with you lol.
