the pretty setter was getting ready to serve, his fangirls screaming in support while the rest of the team took a break.

to the side were a couple of guys staring in jealousy, “heh, his weak ass gets a big ego just because—”

they continued their insults and while they didn’t reach oikawa, his team members certainly heard it all

teasing oikawa was different when it came from them because they genuinely cared about him,, but for someone else to continuously bully the setter without reason?? it was infuriating

before any of them could kick their asses, their manager approached them.

(name) was perhaps the most polite individual they’d met; always patient and kind despite their antics

“ah, i can see the misunderstanding that oikawa is a weakling. he’s got a broken knee and constantly pushes himself despite the excruciating pain.”

the aura surrounding them suddenly turned dark and cold as (name) clutched the shoulder of the main bully with an iron grip

“what about you? shall i break your knee so we can find out if you’re stronger than him?”

at that moment, their gentle mannered manager had the eyes of a beast, unyielding as the guy tried to escape their grip

when they left, the players approached (name) who still glared in that direction. “woah we didn’t know you could be so scary (name)”

now calmer, they replied, “you’re my team, i would kill anyone that tries harm you.”

it was such a matter-of-fact that the males couldn’t help but laugh “haha you’re funny too”

that day they learned their precious manager would deadass commit murder for them

extra: when oikawa found you defended him, he ran with open arms, “(name)-channnnn marry me!” squeezing the life out of you

HINATA

competition hadn’t even started and people were already shit talking karasuno

he didn’t get to say more because your leg swiftly hit the back of his knees, falling to the ground harshly.

no one and i mean no one messes with hinata without you getting a few hits in, regardless height

with that, you steered your baby hinata away from that asshole, throwing him a dirty look in case he wanted to try anything

the ladies man, tanaka had encountered a group of attractive girls at the arcade so he decided to shoot his shot

when they declined, tanaka was prepared to leave them alone, respectful of a woman’s boundaries, but they decided to verbally attack him

“who’d wanna go out with you?” “yeah you’re so ugly, stupid baldie”

unfortunately for them, you were also at the arcade, having heard how the entire conversation went down

you knew tanaka would never use violence against a girl, even if they were rude, but you would.

the third years were gone now

kiyoko had left the team in your and yachi’s hands, with you mainly taking charge as the now-third year manager

the team all sat together for lunch (yes, tsukki too), they were waiting for you since you’d been talking with a teacher

a girl in front of you side-eyed yachi, watching with envy as the blonde sweetheart spoke with the handsome volleyball players

plan brewing in that toxic mind of hers, the girl pretended to trip, spilling her lunch all over yachi. the team didn’t have time to react, watching in shock as food splatted on her lap

sis even had the audacity to say “oh sorry didn’t see you there” as if she didn’t just purposefully throw her food on someone else

worry not, because you returned the favor.

as soon as she gave her faux apology, your food was already making its way down her head to her shoes

there wasn’t a part of her left uncovered

“my bad, i thought you were the trash” you did not look sorry at all

half of the cafeteria watched this unfold—tsukki even making some snide remarks. you grabbed yachi’s hand, guiding her to the restroom to help her clean off

from that moment on, people got the message to never mess with the volleyball team lest they face the wrath of their manager

OSAMU

osamu was your best friend, the reason why you joined inarizaki as their manager

currently, you were in home ed, making the assigned dish but it wasn’t difficult so your movements were lax so much that you couldn’t help but overhear the conversation going on in front of your table

at the mention of osamu, your ears perked up

“he was SUCH a jerk. i kept asking hoping he would grow tired and say yes, but nooooo. apparently osamu thinks he’s better than me”

some of her friends looks uneasy at her inability to take ‘no’ for an answer but the girl continued on her rant

the teacher stepped out for a moment. “HAHAHAHHAHA” the class turned to look at you, laughing like a maniac while you chopped vegetables with scary precision and inhuman strength

that was the moment the grew knew she’d fucked up. she couldn’t even answer back because the teacher was back.

you made a point to ask the teacher if you could be partners with that girl for the next lesson, making her gulp in fear as you ran a finger across your throat

to say the least, she stopped talking for the remainder of the class

KUROO

just kidding. the two of you were actually really good students. the best, if you had to brag

despite being the teacher’s favorite, you were lowkey about it while kuroo liked to insert as many chem jokes as he could in presentations

it was kinda embarrassing and you subtly teased him, but never with malicious intent

the breaking point was dragging in kuroo to all of this. you’d rejected his offers of going on a date and when kuroo made a motion to ask if you were ok, the dude took it as a sign to talk shit

Cue then Merritt, probably the one who took the greatest pleasure in this literally groundbreaking argument, who would ask for a time out, look at the both of you successively, then smirk - you could practically see him relishing in the interpersonal chaos he was about to cause with his words

“It’s pretty obvious that you two have unresolved tension that neither of you want to admit. Danny bosses you around because he understands you won’t be as easy to charm as the others, and it’s the only way he can pretend you’re his. And Y/N, you could just as easily ignore him, but you always pick up the fight, and for some reason insist on spending time with us despite knowing damn well Danny will be here: seems like no matter how hard you try to convince yourself that you hate him, you don’t, you’re actually very attracted to him, and only argue to save face. I suggest you two sort it out like civilized adults so we don’t have to suffer through all of this every other morning.”

A very, very long silence ensues. Absurdly long. You look at Daniel and he looks at you, and then you both look at Merritt, with anger and horror and something else in your eyes.

“That’s bullshit”

You, Daniel, and Jack all spoke at the same time, but Merritt doesn’t lose his grin

He knows he’s right. He’s always right. After all, he can read minds.

Still, despite your reluctance to admit anything he’s said is true, after the altercation your relationship is more and more cordial

He does card tricks for you and you ask him to do them again and again and again until you can finally figure out the trick, his tell, a giveaway, anything

You even find yourself laughing at some of his jokes, even when they’re terribly bad

Jack is a little bit wary of your relationship at first. It’s not that he disapproves of it (he understands you’re a grown-up and can make your own decisions perfectly), but he knows who Daniel is and how unstable he can be, whether that be in his whole demeanor or his feelings for someone

Besides, dating in the situation that they’re in... hunt down by the FBI and Interpol, wanted in every corner of the world, having to travel from country to country every now and then for their shows... they may always be a step ahead of the police, but it’s still risky and he doesn’t want you getting hurt

But Daniel assures him that in the event of you not being able to take care of yourself (which is more than unlikely, but a concerned brother is concerned about everything), he’ll be there for you and won’t let any harm befall you, because you’re the real deal to him

Daniel is also often tired, from working all the time on his shows, performing in front of thousands of people, but also running away from the law and plotting his next moves, so sometimes he just wants to crash, and your arms are the best place to do that

You cuddle often on the sofa, with some random movie you’re not even paying attention to playing in the background, talking about anything and everything until you both fall asleep

And you even let him listen to your favorite music, which he understands is the ultimate demonstration of love for you

You definitely teach him how to play Minecraft, and he’s frustrated at first because he can’t figure out how the game works (he gets blown up by a creeper then dies of hunger in his first two tries), so he’ll pretend he hates the game, but later on he’ll sneak onto the computer and open a creative mode save - and have a blast

“But it has no roof?”

When he’s carefree and unbothered like that, he almost reminds you of your brother

All in all, despite everything, you’re really glad you met Daniel, because he became your closest friend, confidant, and partner in everything

These headcannons are a little random, so if you want me to go into better detail about any particular boy, please feel free to ask.

⚠️Possible TW⚠️

Ruki:

- Ruki would be a strict, but loving parent. He knows just the right amount of discipline, and care he needs to enforce. Pushing his child to express themselves, while making sure they stay on top of priorities. (He’d probably be the best dad out of all his brothers tbh.)

- The vampire would spend a lot of time with his kid, teaching them skills/life lessons. His favorite thing to do is cook dinner, and have his child help in the process. Spending time with his kid would also mean silent reading time, and pushing them to do their best in regards to education.

- Ruki would read a ton of books about parenting. Thinking heavily on his words and actions. On the surface it seems as though he knows exactly what he’s doing, but inside he’s stressed. Keep in mind he grew up in a broken home, that was stripped away from him at a young age. He’s never had a properly established father figure to look up to. Ruki knows he’s going to make mistakes, but tries to be the best father he can be.

Yuma:

- Yuma would be a tough, and aggressive dad. He’d think it’s important to teach his offspring about hard work, and the cruel world around them. Once they were old enough, Yuma would teach them how to fight, especially if they were a girl. That being said, he has his tender moments. Example being, if his child is having trouble falling asleep, he’ll let them sleep on his chest, while telling recounting from his childhood.

- The kid would spend a lot of time in the garden, learning from a young age how to balance chores, school, and hobbies. Free time would come few, and far between. Yuma always needs help with something.

- Once his offspring started growing up, and wanting independence, is when the relationship might crumble. The vampire would definitely get into a ton of arguments, and even physical altercations with his child if they started “rebelling”. His lover would ultimately be the one to scold both him, and their child into understanding each other.

Kou:

- Kou would seem like a pretty normal dad on the surface, but lowkey traumatize his kid. He will always attempt to look good as a dad, but won’t be a pushover. If his child does something worthy of punishment, he won’t hesitate to put them in their place. If he’s out in public, and they create some kind of scene, oh boy. He’ll look calm, but once they get home, bitch better run.

- As soon as his child is able to understand language, he starts teaching them about the give, and take mentality. Sadly, it would turn into one of those cases of generational trauma, unless his kid was able to break the cycle.

- Due to his status, and him being an idol, he will appear a bit absent at times. It seems as though he’s always rushing to go out, or on the phone with his agency. Kou wouldn’t put it above his family however, and listen to his child whenever they needed. Let’s say he’s on an important phone call, and his kid comes up to him with something they really need to tell him, he’ll put the person on hold.

Azusa:

- Azusa would be an overbearingly loving parent. He doesn’t really know what he’s doing, but kinda does a decent job at being a dad (comparatively that is). The only thing he would do wrong, is maybe attempt to hurt them, but I’m sure his s/o would teach him why that is wrong before anything happens.

- He’d always check in on his child, and want to spend time with them. Azusa would feel a bit heartbroken by his kid if they said they needed space. Eventually he would come to understand it, and respect their privacy.

- As a father, he might be a bit of a pushover, and play good cop (for the most part). He’d be there to comfort his child if they just got yelled at, or spanked. If his child was gonna do something he disagreed with, he would argue, but not necessarily stop them. If it was something really bad (like going out to go drink/do drugs), he’d lock them up in their room.

Subaru:

- Subaru is a panicky, but aggressive dad. He worries about his child a lot, and if he’s doing a good job. He wouldn’t be able to forgive himself if they were traumatized because of him. With that being said, he’s still gonna discipline them, and know when to put his foot down.

- He has a hard time showing affection, but figures out how to eventually. He first starts by taking them to the garden, and progresses towards being comfortable enough to let them sit on his shoulders, and sleep on his chest. 🥺🥺

- Once his child was a bit older, he would tell them about his upbringing, and how to defend themselves from anybody attempting to take advantage of them. The way his mother was used, he never wants to see his own offspring go through that.

Watch As I Overanalyze Cinder’s Fight Wit Penny...

I knew Cinder was one for dramatics, but good grief, what happened to being subtle XD

But considering the situation and the time they had left to stop Amity, this was the best course of action.

Can I tell you I screamed! Also, just a screenshot I liked. There will be a lot of them lol.

So Cinder is still holding onto her grudge with Ruby, but it was honestly for the best that she wasn’t there. Cinder would not have been able to take on Ruby and her team as well.

Now I wonder if this is Cinder projecting in some way. Not just because in terms of Salem’s plans, Cinder has been doing the heavy lifting, or at least been tasked to do so. Cinder likely sees this situation as an example. But because of the implications that Cinder as a child, was forces to so a lot of strenuous work on her own.

It’s possible that this might be more projecting, but the way Cinder says it, makes me think she sees herself more as that. Salem did tell her that she was more valuable, but she’s still just a piece in this game. Cinder might be trying to convince herself otherwise.

So things like this suggest to me that Cinder is slowly but surely finding her way back into her comfort zone, trying to re-establish whatever sense of identity she had before volume 3. That and becoming more proficient in using her Maiden Powers, which has become a lot more personalized since volume 3/4 where she relied on fire alone.

Now I love this little reaction, because it is the moment where Cinder realises that Penny is simply distracting her from her main objective. So Cinder is starting to get a handle on her anger and is able to exploit it in a moment of clarity when she turns back. However, she still has quite a bit of growth to go through.

Just something I was wondering about. How does Penny know a person poses a threat? Does she log them into her memory so that they are much easier identifiable later on when they might be more difficult to spot?

And another thing. In this moment Cinder either priorities her mission to stop Amity, or she realises that she would have more success in stopping Penny with Emerald and Neo around.

Maria is having a field day, and I would feel bad if it wasn’t lowkey funny lol. But it’s nice to know Maria still got it. Neo was due a hit to her winning streak as well.

But more alarmingly, that arm. Like that thing has progressed past her shoulder completely and I’m willing to bet that it is making it’s way across her back and side. Now, gauging from the shadows around the Grimm strands, we can conclude that it is not as invasive as we thought, merely anchoring itself at the edges. However, I do hope something are done about them soon, even if Cinder does not seem particularly worries about it... yet.

I can’t tell you how long I’ve waited for this question. As for the answer...

I. Was. Floored.

Mostly because I didn’t expect that answer at all. You could do a whole post just about those three lines. But I’ll try to be concise.

So first, Cinder does not see herself as serving Salem. This can be interpreted in a few ways.

1.)  Cinder does not see herself as bellow Salem, not far at least. Linking back to Cinder ‘being more than a pawn’ it could be that Cinder sees her affiliation to Salem as more of a mutual agreement where both parties get something out of it. As for why Salem would let her think this? I think it plays into Cinder’s fear of being controlled and taken advantage of, as she has implied to have been in the past. Thus, in order to keep Cinder under her control, Salem makes her think that she isn’t under control but rather ‘guidance’.

Cinder might be using Salem as a means of gaining power for some other goal. A goal more specific than just wanting power, or an extension thereof. Which Salem could very much be aware of. But Salem’s control over Cinder goes far past what Cinder believes or would want to. And that is why she is trying to convince herself otherwise.

2.) Cinder does not see herself as serving Salem, because she sees herself as an extension, a ‘vessel’ of Salem’s will. Now this links back to Cinder seeing herself as more useful. But this version implies an even greater loss of her identify. Cinder wants power, not just because of her fear of being powerless, but a cultivated desire to be like Salem and carry out her will. Even if they disagree on how that should be carried out. In a sense, Cinder does not see herself as serving Salem, but rather ‘becoming’ her in some way.

Have an adorably happy murder child.

Linking back to Cinder’s tactical retreat to Amity. This is the clearest example of Cinder learning from her fight with Raven. Cinder used her environment to perfectly set up a situation where Penny is near defenseless and where Cinder can go after her Maiden Powers.

Now, I have talked about the possibility of Cinder having absorbed some of Raven’s Power. But that it might not be enough to open the vault, that the scenario was simply set up as a visual cue to show HOW syphoning those Powers would work.

But this time, not only is the visual cue clear and day-light, shown longer, but it’s also front and center. Do I think that this is enough for Cinder to open the Vault?

No.

But I do hope something comes from this. CRWBY can’t keep showing us Cinder visibly taking more and more of the Maiden’s power, even if just a little bit, and not have it pay off or come around in some way. 

With just one look, Cinder and Emerald had a plan ready to go. And I wish we got more of that in this episode. I wish we had more instances of Cinder working with others, because clearly they do know how to read each other and work together. At the very least, I hope it’s a build up to what can happen in the future, because I fully expect to see much more of Emerald’s semblance.

Now this scene is very familiar. And I wished that Cinder and Co would have made more use of tactics like this, even if I explained in the beginning why that opportunity went up with Amity. I did feel bad for Penny though. The memories must’ve been awful.

Ugh, I felt so bad for Emerald during this scene.

And I really do hope that these two get to actually talk to one another. At the very least that Cinder realises that if it weren’t for Emerald, she’d be dead. In the same vein, it’s also high time that Emerald confronts Cinder about how wrongly she has been treated. Because even when Cinder took Emerald with her, you could see that Cinder was not paying attention to either Emerald or Neo, up until the time she needed them. Which is ironic because Cinder does not seem to take notice of the things Emerald or Neo has done for her, past what Cinder expected of them. And that needs to stop.

Because you people need an unhinged Penny.

And I wonder if Penny realised it too...

That this scene is eerily similar to the one she had when she had to protect Winter.

I’ve been holding off on saying it but... gods does Cinder look sad and adorable. poor baby.

As for Neo, not only is she probably pissed that Emerald is giving her orders but that they would have to return to Salem after Cinder’s bad idea got her, and them all by extension, in an even worse position. I wouldn’t be surprised if Neo starts looking for an out soon after this.

Looks like Salem is back to petting her favourite XD

Now, how is Salem going to react to this? Because from this shot it seems like she wanted the world to know about her. If that was the case, it makes sense to tell Cinder to stay put, but then WHY NOT TELL CINDER? Salem probably does not feel the need to explain herself to others, but this whole detour could be avoided if she had just given her some kind of reasoning.

So not only will Cinder be punished for disobeying orders and failing at her task, but for setting out and doing something that goes completely against Salem’s goals. The only thing I can give for these events, is that it is continuing to drive a wedge between Cinder and Salem, whilst also demonstrating that Cinder does have her own goals and ways of thinking.

But narratively? Does it hold a lot of weight? I don’t know.

We don’t know the full extent of the message, so we don’t know if Cinder’s actions stopped another point of key information going through. Penny would have been hacked by Watts regardless. And I really did hope that Cinder would succeed, that they would have made more use of Neo and Emerald’s semblance, even if subtlety wasn’t a viable tactic. Considering that Cinder mostly relied on her own abilities, and assuming her arc is realising power does not guarantee victory, this makes sense.

But if that was CRWBY’s intent, why not demonstrate this by forcing Cinder to rely more on Emerald and Neo, past just having them to take her to safety, even if that is a big deal. Look this scene revealed a lot of not only Cinder’s way of thinking, but Penny’s as well. I just wish everything didn’t play out as straight as it felt. As for narrative outcomes, I hope we get to see more of that, and it’s not just me wanting to see Cinder taking some of Penny’s Powers, have actual consequences.

Because in terms of consequences, there could be a LOT.

Emerald finally standing up to Cinder, defecting with Neo even, Cinder getting some appreciation for Neo and Emerald, Salem punishing Cinder in a way that makes her want to break away, Cinder reliving more of her past memories, (although I feel like this will be more crumbs, leading up until the third altercation which might be the final push, because I do not feel like this is quite it), Cinder confronting Salem about her goals and why they were kept hidden from her, only for Cinder to realise that Salem does not hold her in as high regard as she thinks.

Whatever happens, I want the fall out of this to drastically change the very views Cinder established in this episode. 

I want Cinder’s disobedience in pursuit of her own goals to have drastic effects and propel her character development forward, even if Cinder is thinks that she is just taking one step back after another.

Whatever the fallout is, I am here for it.

garbage just kidding. in a lot of ways they are opposites attracting--Kate is good with big plans but has trouble with details while Matt is ALL about details. Kate is a contingency planner, while Matt is more impulsive--at least when fighting crime. Kate has a LOT more practical experience than Matt does. pftpfpfpf antagonistic but in a dumb way, like, both of them constantly spiritually eyerolling at each other but also secretly impressed with the other’s skill. they were weirdly touchy-feely with each other early on in their friendship, due to checking on each other’s injuries, etc (weird for them, not weird touching)

they both think the other is reckless which all of their friends would think was hilarious if they all also didn’t have a stash of bloodstained towels that are Matt and Kate’s fault

Matt thinks Kate is one of the strongest people he’s ever met, and she’s...not forgiving, exactly, but always willing to give people a chance. he also thinks she’s really funny.

Kate describes Matt as simultaneously the smartest person she’s ever met and the dumbest person she knows. He’s brave, selfless to a fault, and has a “look at all the fucks i give” mentality that she really admires

6. What do they love about each other?

Matt loves Kate’s determination and her steadfastness. In a lot of ways, she’s easily distractible, terrible with time, but if she says she’s there for you, she’s there, no matter what.  She’s also not afraid to tangle with powerful people, so the have that in common,

Kate loves Matt’s “Stick it to the man” attitude, how deeply he cares for his friends, and that he’s normal, mostly, but saw a problem and decided to do something about it.

Kate is very aware that she’s human. This is something she’s aware of in fights and forgets after, so she’s bad at taking care of herself.

Matt knows he’s human and ignores this fact during fights but is VERY aware of after. So he makes sure Kate takes care of herself.

Matt also angsts a lot more than Kate about the morality and legality of vigilantism, whereas Kate’s been doing this since before she could vote so she’s kind of over it. Matt also has a lot more doubt over being a superhero and Kate’s all in. 

9. What made them realize they were in love?

they’ve lowkey been in love for most of their relationship, honestly, so for both of them it was a lot of little things building up over time. One morning Kate was tying Matt’s tie for court and he had a split lip--he was going over his opening statement, drumming his fingers on her hips and she just went ah. that’s what this feeling is. it wasn’t like, a startling revelation, just something that settled back in her gut, something that was always there.

Matt realized he loved Kate, like, truly madly deeply, one day listening to her snoring in the vents between his office and hers. Looking back, though, he thinks he first started falling in love with her when she threatened to get into a physical altercation with Stick

cuddling. they’re SUPER physically affectionate. or not even affection, just touching to check in on each other.

i know nobody will believe me but I DON’T KNOW!!!! Because Kate doesn’t see the point but Good Catholic Boy Matt MUST GET MARRIED. Matt probably resigns himself to them never getting married and then Kate proposes to him after some fancy event--basically her in a full length evening gown on one knee (that pops very loudly) and Foggy whooping in the background. 

That, or one of them is hospitalized and there’s some Shenanigans with letting the other in and Matt’s like “never again. we’re getting married,” and Kate’s like “fine but we’re using my insurance” (while she’s hooked up to an IV and oxygen)

it’s the least romantic thing ever but both of them think it’s PEAK romance and get very sappy and emotional about it. Sister Maggie is over the moon. Father Latte is stoked. They are completely unaware of the fact that Kate actually has to be convinced to have a Cathoic-ish wedding, and that Clint is very upset he’s not allowed to perform the ceremony

Kate’s dress is fabrics Matt likes to listen to against her skin. Matt wears a burgundy tux with an arrow tie bar. 

12. What would happen if they never met? Matt’s life is the show, Kate probably winds up back in California. I hate to be like “Matt dies young” but that’s what happens, folks.

How does the other one react? this isn’t real life. fuck death. also, considering Matt has been missing, assumed dead, i can say Kate reacts Not Well, takes down a drug smuggling ring, becomes invested in Frank Castle as a human person, (re)joins SHIELD, and teaches Karen self-defense (seriously, it’s like...a whole thing I started writing)

14. Are there any love rivals? Frank Castle, Elektra Natchios, and movie!Matt. Two of those have polyamory potential. one is just getting his ass kicked

their UST cuddle sessions. where they’re like “we’re not cuddling” but they TOTALLY are

mostly varying shades of “oh my god, they’re gonna die”. Most of their friends think it’s cute--Frank Castle doesn’t get it at all, Foggy sometimes wonders if Kate is a bad influence. Father Latte LOVES them together, can’t wait to marry them. Clint doesn’t think Matt’s good enough for Kate, but that’s pretty typical. 

17.Describe or write a really fluffy scene!

this is a post-midland scene where father latte yoinks Kate into the church

Sister Maggie glares and bitches—who knew nuns bitched?--but the other bed gets pushed up against Matt’s. Kate’s not entirely certain what Sister Maggie thinks is going to happen—Matt’s clearly not in any position to do much more than sleep and moan in misery—but the nun’s eyes soften a bit when she sees Matt’s hand still clasped between Kate’s.

“I’m not leaving him,” Kate repeats, aware that she’s starting to sound like a petulant child and not much caring.

It’s done, though, and Kate lays on her side, facing Matt and still holding his hand like it’s a lifeline. Exhaustion settles around her like a heavy blanket and Kate fights through it to wriggle just a little bit closer to Matt, close enough to press her forehead against his arm, remembering other times they’d slept like this that seem so long ago.

…

Matt doesn’t wake so much as he slowly drifts toward consciousness. There’s something different about it this time, something he can’t quite remember that makes him anxious and excited all at once.

Someone is holding his hand, something is warm all along his side, and even though his hearing is muffled, Matt can hear someone crying out.

He breaks the surface and gasps for air.

So much pain, his leg feels like it’s on fire and his skull feels two sizes too small and his ribs crackle with pain every time he breathes.

But something--

Someone is holding his hand, hugging his arm and he can’t smell or hear or taste but the calluses and the scars are familiar and Matt's heart leaps into his throat.

“Kate,” he croaks, squeezing at her hand while tugging at her arm. “Kate, it’s nightmare, wake up.”

Matt can’t even count on one hand the number of times that method of waking Kate up has worked, mostly because it never has, but this time, someone’s looking out for them because it does.

Kate jerks upright, her breath coming in sharp pants that echo in the silence, loud enough that even Matt can hear. Her hand tightens around his as she catches her breath, gulping in enough air to make a sad, heartbreaking little noise. “It’s real, you’re alive?”

Matt doesn’t respond because he’s using what little energy he has to reach for her with his free hand, his fingertips clumsily bumping against her cheek.

She makes that sad little noise again, one that Matt knows would rip right through him if he wasn’t already in excruciating pain.

She’s leaning over him, then, the tips of her hair brushing against his bare skin before she’s raining kisses on his face, light, gentle, sweet kisses.

This is familiar, Matt thinks, feeling like this might have happened a few hours earlier, before someone changed the room so she could lay down next to him.

He doesn’t know how to comfort her. Before—this, before everything, he would have listened to her heartbeat before deciding if he should ask her if she wanted pressure or space. And he would have either scooted to the far edge of the bed, or he would have rolled on top of her, setting his weight on her to keep her grounded and present.

18. Describe or write a really angsty scene!

sooo uhhh not strictly mattkate but from a wip where Matt doesn’t let Kate know he survived the explosion at midland and Kate stumbles into the punisher season 1 storyline uhhh i have nothing to say for myself

“He left me.”

“What?” Frank’s thunderous gaze is fixed on Kate now, and she falters under it.

“Matt. He, um. When he. At Midland,” she stumbles through the thought and Frank softens. “he didn’t just—I don’t know what Karen told you—he didn’t just die—he--he stayed. Her name was Elektra.” Kate takes a deep breath and it’s like she’s rehearsed this, how she would say it and the words come too easy.

“She was he ex-girlfriend, former love, from college. She came back into his life about the same time we met you. And it was rough, you know? They still had feelings for each other, but he picked me—or maybe he didn’t, maybe it was because she died and that made the choice for him. There’s a lot of magic bullshit in this story,” Kate answers Frank’s unspoken question. “And it was magic bullshit that brought her back to life, only not quite right. Not quite human. She’s who they were fighting at Midland.” Her eyes prickle hot with tears as she says the worst part, the part her mind worries like a dog with a bone when she can’t sleep at night. “He chose. To, to not let Elektra die alone, he chose her over me. He decided that life with me was worse than death with her,” and there it is, the whole ugly, painful truth,  I wasn’t enough, it was Elektra all along, and it burns the back of her throat, it constricts her chest. The tears burn tracks down her cheeks, cooling along her jaw. “I hate him. He made me believe—I thought what we had was real. I thought he loved me--”

Her voice breaks on a sob she can no longer contain, and all at once Frank surrounds her, his arms crushing her to his chest, his gentle shushing ruffling her hair. “Hey there, sweetheart, hey, it’s all right. He loved you, anyone could see that. He could have gotten trapped, could have gotten hit in the head, we don’t know.” His hands drag up and down her spine. “I’m right here, sweetheart, it’s okay.”

19. Talk about a headcanon you’ve never talked about before. so it’s not exactly MattKate but Kate was married to America, once, in space, and they just...forgot to get divorced after they broke up. So there’s a whole thing with the three of them that involves Matt and America becoming really good friends--I mean, they both like punching stuff, that’s a solid basis for a friendship, right? And they get lunch every few months and Kate’s just like “why is my ex-wife texting you” and, of course, the “Kate and Elektra dated” headcanon, which dovetails really nicely with Matt/Kate/Elektra ot3. Kate and Elektra just sprawled on Matt’s couch asking him to bring them food because they’re heiresses they’re too pretty to get things themselves

20. What does a typical date look like for them?

Kate trying to keep Matt from listening for crime. Kate grilling Matt about the kitchen, Kate guessing the relationships of the other diners and Matt telling her if she’s right or wrong. Stopping a mugging on the way home and making out in an alley.

21. What’s a really significant moment in their relationship?

WHOOPS MISSED THIS, but it’s the first time they take Fisk down. it was them working as a team, recognizing their romantic feelings, just. all around a good day. it’s an anniversary they celebrate every year

-Hawks: As if he weren’t already kinda annoying and cheesy with his bird reference. He’s going to double up with mouse references instead. There’s a whole lot of “Hey mousy! You know you’d make the best prey for a Hawk like me.” I guess it’s his form of flirting, but it can be annoying if it carries on for too long of a time but I’m sure you can handle it because you know he means well.

-Moonfish: For the most part, he never really teases you about how your quirk makes you look. He’s all too familiar with the way a quirk can affect you. Even if you’re not offended by it, he takes respectful strides to treat you like a regular human. 

-Kurogiri: Just like moonfish, he’s very respectful and doesn’t tease you about your quirk. Very rarely, he acknowledges it. When he does, it’s always during a more soft moment. He offers reassuring words if it ever makes you insecure. He also takes the time to stroke your ears when you two are alone. It’s just Kurogiri being soft as usual.

-AFO: First thing he does is offers to take the quirk from you because he can. “Are you positive dearest? Is it bothering you? What are the benefits you gain from keeping it?” So say you keep it because it’s a big part of what makes you, well...you! He respects that decision and treats you no differently

-Toga: Obsessed to the highest degree. Tough because you should have already known she’s got this fixation on 2 things...Bloodied and beaten things or super cute things. Because a relationship wouldn’t work with the first option, she takes her interest in the cute aspect instead. She will literally buy a mouse ear headband and walk around like it’s disneyland just to share in your cuteness. Constant random pics of you will be taken, constant moments will come when she tries to put bows on your tail. You’re just cute food for her, and she’s hungry lol

Twice: Can be a little annoying when he’s in Twice mode. When he’s in Bubaigawara mode (stable Twice) then he is mature about most things. After all, it’s just a quirk altercation. No big deal. In Twice mode, he is always in your face giving 2 different opinions at once and also offering you cheese all the time. He’s a little manic so you have to put up with that for a bit. Really it’s not that bad once you try to get him away from the mouse stereotypes 

-Shigaraki: He smiles whenever he looks at you because you’re so cute. Unlike most of the others, of course he’s going to tease you sometimes. “Hey mouse, want some cheese?” You probably punch him at this point for being annoying. If you ever happen to get down, expect him to actually be there to support you too. At some point maybe you feel like shit or something because of the way you look. He’ll say something along the lines of “You’re amazing Y/N. You’re the most amazing girl/boy/person I could have ever laid my eyes on. I want you to know that okay? Besides, you’re just a mouse. Everyone knows I’m the ratty looking one in this relationship.” 

-Dabi: He’s going to be the one on this list that is most likely to hit you with the plague jokes. This bastard thrives on teasing and annoying you. Go ahead and get pissed because that only pushes his cause even further. The only time he’s not on your ass is when he knows it’s a serious time or something like that. Other than that, be prepared for every mouse/rat joke in the book. Not to mention the way he pulls on your tail or ears from time to time. Then there comes the sexual teasing when he pushes you against the wall gently and locks you in with his arms so you’re forced to look into to striking blue eyes as he leans down and utters “What’s wrong little mouse? Cat got your tongue?”

-Spinner: This boy will be soooooo defensive over you that it’s ridiculous. Due to everything he endured in his life because of quirk altering appearances, he’s going to go out of his way to protect you from anything like that. He’s stressed because even though you’re cute, there will always be people out there that won’t accept quirks as a part of society. You will always be a freak to someone out there. Spinner is determined to protect you from that hurt. Even if you’re just chilling on the couch at the LOV headquarters and someone is being playful with you (IE probably Dabi) then Spinner will literally fight over that. What may be a joke to them, could potentially hurt you (even if you tell him you’re okay lol)

-Compress: 10/10 boyfriend and husband material. I don’t mean to put him on a pedestal like Kurogiri, but they’re both best to be with especially if you have a quirk like this. For Compress, he manages to be respectful but cheesy at the same time. Like the mic jokes come, but he’s so awkward and over the top with his flirting, that he makes you laugh every single time. 

-Magne: Sis is shook. She already feels like you’re hot but now you’re also cute as well?!?!?! She is the type of significant other to wanna show you off all the time. It would work if she weren’t currently a villain and avoiding social media lol. Either way, expect a lot of dates and compliments out of her because that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. She spends more time complimenting your quirk rather than teasing you over it. 

-Muscular: The only other big asshole in the group besides Dabi is of course going to be my mans Muscular. The difference is that he can be a little too rough for you sometimes and may even end up telling you to suck it up if he hurts your feelings but I swear he’s not that bad all the time. There are soft moments when no one else is around and he’s softly stroking your tail while you guys watch a movie together on the couch or something

-Mustard: Little sweetheart but won’t admit it. Lowkey makes shitty art of you in his notepad. He’s even the type to write your two initials together somewhere in the hideout where he thinks you won’t see it. He has a little beanie baby mouse he sleeps next to when you’re away. It’s not full cuddling or anything, he just puts it on his nightstand and stares at it until he falls asleep, or until you call him with your good night message. A real cutie but will deadasss hit you with the plague insults when you’re together.

「 DANIEL SHARMAN, CISMALE, 27, RISE AGAINST. 」┈ did you read that latest viral gossip issue on RILEY PARKER?  he is the LEAD GUITARIST in RENEGADE, one of my favorite HARDCORE PUNK groups. they’ve been releasing music for FIVE YEARS now, but viral gossip has only been talking about them for the last MONTH. get this, i think i heard HE COULD BE FACING JAIL TIME DUE TO AN ALTERCATION WITH PAPARAZZI. they’re known as the MISFIT of the music industry, since they have a rep for being DAUNTLESS but TEMERARIOUS, but who knows. maybe that will change once they become #1.

so, this guy right here...riley ignatius parker...will throw hands if you call him anything other than parker. it’s what everyone calls him. you gotta be really special to call him riley and not immediately get decked for it

parker was born to a wealthy family in a small but affluent village called alderley edge in cheshire, england. his family is stupid rich, hails from a long line of architects and business people. he spent his early years sheltered and pampered and homeschooled by tutors and nannies, so his parents never spent much time with him, but that’s okay because he never really got along with his parents anyway.

has an identical twin brother named rian who he never ever talks about mostly because they absolutely DESPISE each other. rian thinks parker is a disgrace to their family name, parker thinks his brother is a sheep who turned out exactly like their parents because he always did whatever they said without question. they haven’t seen each other in ages and for the longest time all their interactions have ended in ( usually physical ) fights anyway.

parker’s always been a HUGE TROUBLEMAKER with a restless nature and desire to ~be free~, so his wealthy, uptight, lowkey shady af parents who are obsessed with the family’s image could never really deal with him and eventually resorted to sending him off to boarding schools all over england, just one after the other bc ofc he kept getting kicked out for one reason or another. 

about the only thing he enjoyed about his childhood and schooling were his music lessons. he was taught to play piano, violin, and even the harp. other things like math and history and science didn’t come easily to him at all, but music? he was great at it, and he’s always loved it. during his teen years while away at boarding school was when he first procured an electric guitar and learned to play. along with that, he also discovered punk music, aka the greatest thing in the entire fucking universe if you ask him. far as music goes, he'd found his calling in his early teenage years, but it would take a while for that to really feel legitimate to parker.

he was basically that rebellious kid in all the movies who wore doc martens with his prim & proper school uniform and carried around a pocket knife and cut class to go smoke while vandalizing school property and would absolutely fuck up some prissy pretty boy’s face just for looking at him the wrong way.

literally the only reason he actually graduated rather than flunking out or getting kicked out of every fancy boarding school in the uk was because his father was able to pull some strings aka bought his very last boarding school a whole new library wing. parker did actually consider running away a few times, but there was a part of him really reaaaaally deep down that actually enjoyed some aspects of school ( though he very strongly believes many education systems across the world need a serious overhaul and blahblahblah don’t ask him unless you want a lecture ). anyway, the moment he was done with school, he did finally skip out on...well, everything and everyone and ditched the country altogether, heading out first to new york city for about two years, then california for the last seven.

he’s been completely independent of his parents since the age of 18 and hasn’t had any access to their money since they cut him off for basically running away from home and since renegade only recently hit it big, he’s probably still a little poor tbh.

and since moving to california he’s been jumping from disgusting apartment to disgusting apartment and from shitty job to shitty job. played in various bands on the side, mostly for fun and even sometimes as a frontman himself, but when he joined renegade about five years ago as the lead guitarist, he immediately knew that this was his place. parker absolutely loves being in the band and wouldn’t trade it for anything at all. that being said, the fame that’s sorta popped in out of nowhere in the past month ( ever since renegade signed with a major record label ) has been...something else. being that he’s from a prominent and wealthy family he’s quite used to attention, but he’s also one of those everyone in hollywood is so fake where’s the real people making real music types and seeing as he has a very very short temper...well, parker’s already got a reputation for being a bad boy and yeah, he actually kind of is. he’s especially not a big fan of the paparazzi and is known to be very rude with them and get into actual physical fights with them he will throw hands with a n y o n e i’m telling you. his most recent run - in with a photographer who wouldn’t leave him alone even after parker told him to fuck off a few times ended in him being charged with assault and battery. long story short, he beat the guy’s face in with his own camera. parker’s...eh about it. he doesn’t really care? if you ask him, the guy should’ve just left alone when he told him to and it’s not like parker hasn’t been to jail before. he’s a vandal, a thief, gets into fights more often than he breathes but hey he usually wins so there’s that

i think that’s all i have for backstory atm though i will update this post if i ever feel it necessary. anyway, onto personality!

nah jk there’s actually a few more things! first off, he’s basically the living breathing personification of the jerk with a heart of gold tv trope. so, he seems like a major jerk most of the time and that’s because he kind of is. especially around hollywood people, he’s standoffish and snide and just all - around has a bad attitude. he’s very short tempered and impulsive af, but underneath all of that he’s actually an observant and caring person. like, he’s not very book smart but he’s good at reading people and WOW DOES HE FEEL EVERYTHING SO DEEPLY. he’s a ridiculously passionate person. he feels everything all the time. every emotion is felt in extremes and the one that’s usually most prominent? ANGER.

see, parker is just a very angry person because he’s seen the way things are in the world. he’s lived a life of wealth and unimaginable opulence, but then he’s also been so poor that he’s slept beside dumpsters in alleyways. there are so many people out there who need healing in so many ways and he’s seen it for himself so he knows it’s true. yet, nobody really seems to wanna help. so many people seem to be involved in activism for show or for good person points and he just he HATES it. he constantly wants to scream about all of the unfair things going on in the world and how much he wants to just make them better because he is actually a rather compassionate person when someone is in need.

like, he’s the type of guy who says thank you to waiters and janitors and average, working class people — though i imagine anyone who doesn’t know him very well would be surprised by that.

along that deep af vein, he enjoys the songwriting process a lot and i imagine he’s very involved in it with renegade. he totally doesn’t seem like the type, but he’s got this old messy notebook that he takes with him everywhere and it’s just full of song ideas and other random things. it’s basically a physical manifestation of parker’s brain, so he’s probably not about to just hand it off to some random person. if you want notebook privileges then he’s gotta trust you that’s just how it is

also, a total lovesick fool when he's got a thing for someone — a soft but only for you type and it’s highkey cute af

doesn’t care much for wealth at all. he’s lived that life before, didn’t like it, and these days he’d rather wear his favorite old band shirt stained with motor oil and eat greasy diner food ( mostly french fries ) than have some grandiose celebrity experience. 

not the easiest person to befriend or be friends with, but if you do have him for a friend then guess what? you have him FOR LIFE. parker is super loyal — a true ride or die but don’t fuck it up with him because if you do he will hold a grudge forever

i feel like his reputation precedes him even though he hasn’t been around very long and that’s definitely thanks that messy altercation with the paparazzi. like, he literally beat this photographer up with his own fucking camera?? word has definitely gotten around and i think some people might be wary or even afraid of him?? 

though really aside from his short temper he really is and really tries to be a decent guy. anyone who knows him well would see that very clearly and honestly, that’s probably why they stick around even though he can be very difficult.

She likes to assume that most of the people in her life, even the passing acquaintances, are at least against the Trump administration, and that many of them are opposed enough to be taking direct action, but it’s always nice to have those feelings confirmed.

And it is, admittedly, especially nice to have those feelings confirmed with someone she is lowkey crushing on.

Not that it’s surprising, really, that Bellamy Blake is a revolutionary. He’s not white and not straight, both of which are good indicators on their own, let alone together, and he’s always struck her as the kind of person who stands up for what he believes in.

He’s also a trainer at her gym and stupidly ripped, which is probably why she becomes aware of him in the middle of a fight, punching some guy who’s trying to hassle a couple kids who don’t even seem to be involved in the whole thing, just passing through.

She doesn’t see him, specifically, right away; she’s making her way over to the altercation, trying to figure out what’s going on and if she can break it up, when she sees one guy throw a punch, and another guy punching back, and by the time she realizes that one of the guys on her side is Bellamy, it’s too late for her to do much except help get the girls out of danger.

“Hey, Blake, I’ve got the kids!” she says, sees his eyes flick over to her for just a second, just long enough to see who she is and what she’s doing before he turns his attention back to the fight.

“Thanks, doc,” he says, moving to shield them, still ready to keep fighting. The girls are probably high-school aged, wearing Hillary Clinton shirts but not, apparently, actually involved in the rally, and Clarke checks them both over while listening to the fight with one ear. It’s growing, of course; these things always do.

“What were you guys doing down here?” she asks one of the girls.

“Just walking,” she says. “We heard there was stuff happening, so we wore the shirts, but we’re just going to the movies.”

“Bullies always pick on people they think won’t fight back. They wanted to hassle someone and you guys were there. I’m sorry,” she adds.

The girl shrugs, pragmatic. “We knew it might happen. And it’s not like they did anything to us. They called us names and then your friend showed up to walk with us.”

“Do you think he’s okay?” the other girl adds. “He got hit.”

“Trust me, I’m checking on him after I check on you. But he should be fine. He’s pretty tough.”

“Will you thank him for us?” the first girl adds. “He was really nice.”

“I definitely will. Where are you guys going?”

The movie theater is in sight of where they are, but Clarke walks them anyway, just to be safe. She’s not much of a fighter, but she’s older and knows how to look intimidating enough that no one hassles them again.

Once they’re inside, she head back where she came from, planning to go check on the fight, try to find Bellamy, but he finds her first, falling into step with her.

“Cover for me? Cops broke it up, but I don’t really want to talk to them, so–”

She slides her arm into his, leans her head against his shoulder. “Couple going on a movie date?”

“Perfect. Hi, by the way. Nice to see you.”

“You too. Those girls said to thank you. How are you doing?”

“I’ve been better. Did you seriously come to a rally with a first-aid kit?”

“I worked in an ER every summer during college. I might as well use it. Did you come to punch a Nazi?”

“I’m always hoping, but it’s never actually worked out before.” He puts his face in her hair as a couple cops pass, she assumes to hide the damage she hasn’t gotten a chance on check yet. But it’s also a little bit nice, if she’s honest. She needs more cuddling in her life.

Once they’re in the clear, she holds the door open for him. “Come on, they might have a family bathroom.”

“I think they’ll think we’re trying to hook up.”

“Yeah, I like them bloody and achy.”

“Adrenaline is an aphrodisiac for some people.” He wets his lips, looking around. “There’s a chair, I can sit in a chair, right? They aren’t going to kick me out.”

“We can always buy tickets to something if they make us. Here, sit down.”

She gets him settled, facing away from the windows in case anyone is seriously trying to find him, and gets her first good look at him. His hair is always kind of messy, but it’s obviously not deliberate now, going every which way and like someone was pulling it, and his eye is already starting to blacken. There’s a little blood on his lip, but nothing too bad.

He’s also wearing a tight pansexual pride shirt that makes his arms look even larger than normal, but she probably shouldn’t think about that until she’s got him cleaned up.

“So, this was your first time punching a Nazi, right?”

“Not for lack of trying. Not that I come to these to pick a fight,” he adds. “But I know I actually can win the fight, and not everyone can.”

“Yeah. That’s why I bring the first aid kit and water bottles. I can be a warm body, and if anything bad happens, I can help out. Was anyone else fighting on our side, or just you?”

“A couple others. I think they’re fine. I was in the middle.”

“You got off pretty light.”

“You haven’t looked at my hand yet.”

She winces. “Fuck, I forgot. Split knuckles?”

“Yeah, I’m pretty sure.”

“You want me to do the face first or straight to the hand?”

“I think the hand is bleeding more.”

“Okay.” She unties the flannel from around her waist and puts it on his lap, making him smile.

“I’m not sure my jeans are more worth protecting than your shirt.”

“They’re nice jeans,” she says, absent. “Jesus, Bellamy.”

“That bad?”

Her fingers trace over the jagged cuts. “You really got him in the teeth.”

“He was harassing a couple of high-school kids,” he says, gruff. “Just because they were away from the pack. He deserved to get his teeth knocked in.”

“I’m not going to argue with you. Just–sucks for your hand.”

“Worth it.”

She gets antiseptic out of her first-aid kit, starts to clean out the cuts. He winces, but doesn’t say anything. “Have you noticed how punching Nazis was completely socially acceptable right up until it started being something we thought we needed to do again?” she asks, to distract him. “They were the safest fictional targets in the world, and now that we have assholes in swastikas demonstrating in the street, suddenly everyone wants to remind us that violence isn’t the answer.”

“Depends on the question,” says Bellamy. “It’s not like I really wanted to spend 2017 worried about losing basic rights and fighting fascists, but here we are.”

“Here we are.”

He clears his throat, watching her work on his hand. “Have you had to do this a lot? Treat people?”

“It’s mostly giving them water and stuff. A lot of kids are really upset and want to do something, so they just come out here pissed and don’t bring supplies.”

His laugh is soft. “I can’t believe I didn’t think of that.”

“If I was as ripped as you, I’d be thinking more about punching people too. A good revolution uses everyone where they’re most effective. We have different skill sets.”

“Well, I appreciate yours right now. I would have just waited until the protest was over and probably gotten an infection.”

She makes a face. “Yeah, whenever you cut yourself on someone else’s body, you should clean it out right away. You don’t know where that guy’s been.”

“Thank goodness. I’ll be sure to bring my own antiseptic next time.”

Her first impulse is to suggest that they just come to the next one together, but it feels like a little much. They still aren’t really friends, just friendly acquaintances, bonding over some old-fashioned Nazi punching. She’d like to leverage the whole thing into seeing him more, but it feels a little–weird. This is more important than her romantic entanglements.

“If you’re planning to punch people you should be prepared, yeah.” She gets her gauze out and starts wrapping his fingers, which is bad only because she’s going to stop having an excuse to touch his hands soon. He has really nice hands. But they’re set now. “Okay,” she says. “You’re good.”

“Thanks. Are you going back out there? The protest isn’t over yet.”

“Yeah, definitely.”

“We should probably stick together,” he says. “In case anyone needs medical attention or an ass kicking.”

She bites her lip on her grin. “Yeah, that sounds right.”

It’s fairly uneventful after that, which Clarke can’t really bring herself to mind. They yell a lot and cheer a lot and she identifies some kids who need to sit down and take a break, and Bellamy keeps them near the counter protestors in case anyone tries to start anything else, but the police are out now and no one really wants to get arrested unless it’s absolutely necessary.

“At least you got to punch one Nazi,” she tells him as the crowd starts to disperse, and he smiles.

“Nightmares come true.”

“That’s the 2017 mood, yeah.”

“Where are you heading?”

“Home.”

“I was hoping for a couple more details. On the train?”

“Yeah.”

“Me too.”

As they walk to the station, they establish they live in the same neighborhood, which isn’t really a surprise, given that’s where the gym is, but she wasn’t sure. She doesn’t live that close to work; he might not have either.

They’re two stops away when Bellamy says, “So, uh, I feel like I owe you.”

“For what?”

He holds up his bandaged hand. “Medical attention.”

“I don’t mind. I finally got to put my first-aid skills to the test.”

His mouth twists in a smile. “I can’t tell if you’re shooting me down preemptively or not.”

“Shooting you down?”

“I’m trying to leverage protests and Nazi fighting into a dinner date. If that’s something you’d be interested in.”

“Oh, wow. Yeah I didn’t get that. You should keep going, I wasn’t trying to shoot you down. Just be nice.”

He laughs. “Awesome. Do you want to get dinner with me?”

“That would be great, yeah.”

The next protest that rolls around, they go together, with a backpack full of supplies, and Clarke’s the one to punch someone this time.

“Good energy,” Bellamy says, cleaning out her cut. “Not great technique. You’re lucky you didn’t break your thumb. Did no one ever teach you how to throw a punch?”

“I thought it was one of those things you learned by doing.”

He snorts. “Yeah, no. There’s definitely a right way to punch someone. We can work on it.”

“Yeah?”

“If the current administration is going to keep on making us fight Nazis, we might as well be good at it, right?”

She has to smile. “That’s the goal, yeah. You’re not great at the medical side either.”

“So we should probably stick together. We make a pretty good team.”

who is more likely to hurt the other?

i mean, hopefully, neither? neither of them have a tendency to be verbally or emotionally cruel to one another. even if they get into an argument or straight up fight, they might yell or the situation might get heated, but they would never resort to anything that would intentionally hurt the other. as far as physical injury goes — again — neither of them would intentionally hurt the other. however, in instances where they were sparring together, there is a possibility that james could hurt eira in one way or another, albeit accidentally. and, let’s be real, eira would be pretty proud if she could cause the winter soldier a tiny bit of pain during a sparring session.

who is emotionally stronger?

they’re both strong people emotionally, though james, in the grand scheme of things, has been through more emotional (not to mention mental and physical) abuse. even so, he’s a fairly emotionally stable and strong individual, and — more often than not — doesn’t expose his feelings or emotions hardly at all, opting instead to remain more introverted and self-preserving. eira, on the other hand, is, most likely, an emotionally healthier individual, and, perhaps, that qualifies her for being a bit more stronger emotionally, as well. they both work very hard to be supportive of each other emotionally, though, and they tend to lean on one another for that support.

who is physically stronger?

james. i —— don’t think i even have to go into the why’s about this. supersoldier serum. superstrength. metal arm. eira is a smol. a fierce smol. but a smol, nonetheless, in comparison to her massive boyfriend.

who is more likely to break a bone?

james is more likely to break a bone, but that doesn’t disregard the very real possibility of eira breaking a bone whenever she feels like it. her skillset, training, and physical abilities all afford her every ability to snap a bone in an altercation.

who knows best what to say to upset the other? 

again, this isn’t the type of thing either of them would intentionally do. james is more open with eira than 99.9% of the people in his life, so if anyone knew his sore spots to press it would be eira, but there would rarely — if ever — be a situation where either of them would intentionally try to upset the other. it just isn’t them.

who is most likely to apologize first after an argument?

while they both are not incapable of swallowing their pride, it is, usually, at least somewhat difficult for either of them at times. it depends largely on the magnitude of the argument itself and/or what the argument was about. james honestly hates it when eira’s upset with him, and he hates himself for getting into argument with her in the first place, in a situation like that, so he could very possibly be the first to throw in the towel and apologize simply because he doesn’t enjoy having that rift between them.

who treats whose wounds more often?

this is something they both do with each other. if either one of them sees the other is injured they will probably be the first to get to them with a first aid kit or whatever tools are necessary, unless it was something requiring more professional attention. james’ natural inclination is to take care of the people he’s closest to, so if eira is ever injured, not only is the first one at her side to tend to her wounds, but he more than likely would glare off anyone else who tried to help if the situation didn’t absolutely require it. (did i mention he’s slightly protective also?)

who is in constant need of comfort?

i don’t know if i would really define either of them as having a “constant” need for comfort. again, james is slightly more emotionally closed off in some ways so reaching out for comfort wouldn’t be his first instinct. eira would probably fit this definition moreso than him, but again i don’t know that i would define it as a “constant need.” they both are available to each other all the time for comfort and assurance.

who gets more jealous? 

i mean ——— yeah i’m gonna have to go with james. eira gets jealous, too, at times, no doubt, but james tends to brood silently about it. which means, he never really acts on his jealously or necessarily even says anything about it, but he can get irrationally jealous within certain situations. 

who’s most likely to walk out on the other?

i don’t like this question. it would have to be a pretty bad situation, most likely for this to occur. either an intensely bad argument or some misunderstanding or some unimaginable betrayal of some kind — something bad would have to happen to make one of them simply walk out. that being the case, i think it’s possibility for either of them, should an intense situation like that occur.

who will propose?

hmm… if they ever did decide to actually get married, it would probably be james who proposed? either that or it would simply be something they talk about over a period of time before going ahead with it. although, honestly, i can see eira maybe being the one to actually do it.

-just looks at james’ dead parents- i mean —— i guess i’m gonna go ahead and say eira’s dad? especially considering the vague conflict between aiden and james, lowkey snarling at each other constantly tends to make for a “difficult” situation.

probably eira, most of the time, at first. but as their relationship progresses, james would be more comfortable with public displays of affection.

it depends on the day. james tries not to let himself sink into depression or real sadness too often. he’d much rather just bury himself in his work, the mission, than deal with processing things like that. it’s not the healthiest but it’s how he functions. eira probably has more “openly” sad days, for the most part.

who is better at cheering the other up?

they’re both pretty good at this. they both know what to do or to say to get the other to smile or to break the tension of the day. for james, it’s rare to find anyone who can make him smile at the drop of a hat, but eira always can. and he knows a few tricks and words to use to bring eira out of whatever gloominess the day has brought on.

who’s the one that playfully slaps the other all the time after they make silly jokes?

this is definitely eira being the one to smack james. for being such a somber person most of the time, when he wants to be silly, he can be an absolute shit and eira’s the one to whack him for it.

hmm... i guess i would say james? though eira’s certainly not lacking either, james just has a long running history of being “streetsmart” in a generalized sense.

who is more wise?

i think it depends on the situation. they’re a good team together because, although they have a lot of similarities and many similar outlooks on situations, they are slightly different at times, and depending on the situation at hand, one or the other may have a better view on what needs to be done. 

who’s the shyest?

james is introverted but he’s anything but shy. eira probably is a tad bit more shy than james in a few ways.

who boasts about the other more?

i mean, no offense to eira, but james can out-brag her any day when he goes on about how brilliant she is or what a genius she is or how epic she was in the field or what an asset to the team she is. i mean, really, everyone just wants him to shut the fuck up once he gets started.
