Mike & Abby Easter Headcannons

• Mike always hides eggs for her. Without fail. Every year. He probably enjoys hiding them more than she enjoys finding them, honestly.

• He's super annoying about not just TELLING her where one is when she can't find it, he'll just go "warmer..." or "colder...!" until she gets fed up and throws empty plastic eggshells at him.

• Abby knows the Easter bunny isn't real. She's not dumb. But it's a fun tradition, and she's willing to play pretend for as long as Mike is.

• Mike never busy himself any Easter candy. He "doesn't need the extra calories". Yet every year without fail, he ends up bumming Abby for candy, stealing a chocolate here and there. (She acts annoyed, but secretly doesn't mind sharing.)

• The first time Mike showed Abby the "draw with white crayon on an egg before dyeing it and the dye won't stick there" trick, she thought he was magic. Now, she draws a doodle on every single egg before dunking it in the colored water. Mike always makes comments on how they look "too good to eat," then eats one before they're even done dying them anyways.

• Once he forgot where he hid one of the hard boiled eggs... until it stank up the front porch. He nearly gagged when he found it two weeks later, tucked into an old flowerpot.

• Easter is like, the one time a year Mike drags Abby to church... If only for the giant egg hunt they host. He definitely has some kind of religious guilt from not going more often, but he's just too busy and tired. (He used to use Abby as an excuse, since she refused to sit still when she was younger. Now that she's older, he could go, but just doesn't care to. Neither does Abby.)

• (Post-movie) He and Abby happened to run into someone dressed as the Easter bunny outside of, like Walmart. And it just so happened to be a YELLOW bunny. Mike jumped two feet in the air and nearly pissed himself, and Abby just laughed at him. The guy in the costume thought it was hilarious to see a grown man so scared of a bunny, and the high-five he gave Abby made Mike just want to punch him. He didn't, thankfully.

How Mike would treat his 💙partner💙 on Easter:

• He'd definitely make you an Easter basket. Nothing super fancy or expensive, he spends most of his budget on Abby. But he'd make sure you feel included and appreciated.

• Your basket would include: Your favorite candy, a pack of gum, something related to one of your hobbies, (ex: guitar pick, yarn, nail polish, colored pencils, etc), a cheesy hand-written note, a few plastic eggs with candy, a small stuffed animal, and a savory snack, like chips or pretzels. He's attentive, and knows what you prefer.

• Depending on how long you've been dating, he might even throw in something a little raunchy... like a pack of flavored condoms, lube, or a "toy". More as a gift to himself than you.

• He'd absolutely let you spend Easter with him and Abby, but wouldn't pressure you if you wanted to be with your family. If YOU invited HIM to spend the day with YOUR family, though? He'd fucking melt. ESPECIALLY if they were warm and welcoming to him. It'd make him cry like a baby to see Abby getting along with the other kids.

Hello!! Thank you so much for the warm welcome! (❁´◡`❁)

I've known RDR2 since the day it released. I remember I was in sophomore year high school. Arthur CHARMED me almost immediately and it unlocked something in me ngl HAHAHAH. I'm most certainly not new to the story, I've watched 5 YouTubers and streamers play the game, I've known/recognized almost the easter eggs and all the strangers events from YouTube recommendations and stuff like those, so yeah, RDR2 used to be a brainrot of mine, until BOOM college happened.

Now that college is over, I'm completely free! I'm currently on Chapter 2 - Clemens Point. I'm super happy hunting for perfect pelts and fishing-- never paying my bounty to kill the bounty hunters so I can loot the shit outta them.

Anyway, here's my Arthur!

Black is hot, 'nuff said. The hat shall never be changed, that's a rule! Maybe I want to add some feathers to it though.

Here's my horse! He's an all-black American Standardbred called "Arson" (get it? cuz he's Arthur's son? like, Ar, Son, his son? And Arthur's a criminal get it...?)

I knew from the early days of the game that there's only one all-black horse in the RDR2 world -- the American Standardbred. I've memorized the place where he's located, and the first thing I do after the first horse stable mission with Hosea was to find him.

(Unfortunately he's a male, and I can't hear Arthur whispering "you're alright girl" "good girl" "eeeeeeasy girl" in my ear 😔)

ANYWAY, I have 2 other horses in the stable, I forgot their breeds, but I name them "Embezzlement" and "Vandalism" 😔🤣

I'm of course a High Honor, all I rob is just the bounty hunters after me. Don't worry I'm good with my Arthur 👌

schmitty - when i listened to his (scared) tmp2 voicelines i imagined him (and did like 2 doodles) as a humanoid red quip. whether or not that's because me and my friends memed said quip a lot and i began assoisating the quip with schmitty might...idk be up in the air lol.

anyways i basically made him a human verison of the red quip and my human verison for him came later

cookie masterson - i think i listened to his F U easter eggs? and then boom. cookie, made his tie a ...cookie tie bc of his name lol

REDACTED - i think i listened to the tmp1 " voice reveals "? i forgot, man it's only been two months. anyways i know i based their look soley on something said on their tumblr page, " based raised in the woods ". and i made their " not shadowy " form not too long after

to quote myself: " well hes a serial killer or something right " . oh and i believe i made his shirt purple bc that color is sometimes associated with evil! woo. as for my first take on his Totally normal man in society he did not seem like a guy that could play off being a Totally normal man in society. he had fricking pink eye and was bleeding from his mouth and looked really sickly

todd - ah the funny internet man! my first design for him ..funky hair. i know i went through like 3 hairstyles for him and whether or not i wanted to give him shorts.

the 3 things that stayed through out all the designs are: shades, fire tie/fire on the pants and green crocs. now that i think about it his clothes are weird lol..

nate - soley based on his F U easter egg. " i'm pretty (fricking) expensive. " i also wanted to use a different head shape.

from my first sketch of him, nothing has really changed except for the stripes on his tie

guy towers - oh fgod my first reference drawing of him, the colors and design are pretty much the same now except i changed his shoes a bit and give him a short ponytail

idk hes the sports guy and sports people wear visors...yea

oh my gosh i think i gave guy a ponytail bc of some " au doodle/ the whereabouts of the ydkj hosts "

binjpipe - oh uhhhhhh ,is pink , hair shapes a b, she is the only character with a eye color (i guess bc i didnt really bother giving eye colors to any of my hosts)

my design for it has not changed, the onyl thing i added recently was circuits on her hands! bc . idk circuits are cool

schmitty but human - ohhey i found it, i imagined in his ydkj days hes just...pretty tired. hence gray hairs! and i know the tie i very loosely based on Funny Faster Funnier or wahtever it is

dr ro (hc name: dr.rangsey) - short science girl! idk i think the phrase " lab safety is mint colored! " fits her and thats something i thought about..and her colors are based on her game

again her design did not change much i think i just made the labcoat look better

hfelicia - ohhh i remember really wanting to make a design for her . i was like I GOTTA DO THIS.. and tentacles were a requirement. and a eyeball in her hair

one sketch i have is her with eyes on her arms which i believe i did put in, in her monster form . ok i just found when i got around to linearting and coloring, i realized her outfit was too similar to the mother in her game so i changed it (and ngl i was thinking of maid outfit kinda) i looked up vintage clothes and gave her something from that, and red shoes lol

guesspionage host (hc name: abigail s) - oh!! i doodled him on paper first, my final design is pretty different my gosh

my next sketch for him then has boots and a different head shape , uhh yea, eventually i made the shoes Not fricking big and i gave him some cool glove thing with...circuits! bc to quote on my reference page " epic shocking prank ". ngl that was mostly bc of gandra dee in dt17 bc she has nanobots or whatever on her hand and its pretty cool and i thought this host would be the kind to get stuff like that

and could be used for self defense i think? shocking hurts and its like ..opposite of binjpipes' kinda. his are on the palm while hers are on the opposite of the palm (??i dont know my human terms)

dandelion - design hasnt changed much either! and i hc him to be schmitty's brother so i uhh yea made them look similar somewhat. BUT MAN THE SHOES IN HIS FIRST DESIGN............not great. i added a bit more to his suit..jumpsuit? in my latest design for him! swaggy

buzz lippman - when i first heard him there were 2 things i know were needed - a tophat and yellow glasses

my first design for him isnt different from his latest deisgn, i jsut gave him a blue tie. blue as to tie into nate bc theyre cousins and i gave nate a yellow tie os yea

dixie - aww my first sketch for her was cute, i wanted something flowy, i made her somewhat angelic! and her dress has clouds ..and the thing around his waist and her cape are supposed to represent the millions of words made up! (vaguely bc no way am i gonna write words there) oh and the cape is kinda uhh like her wings persay!

civic doodle hostress and old man - AHHA my first doodle of old man was just a stick figure bc thats how hes shown in the ride. and i gave them both stick figure forms bc why not? EHAj i wasnt sure what colors to give to them at first so i used ms paint colors, AND OLD MANS BEARD WAS MADE OUT OF POMPOMS..God haa i didnt give him a beard at first when i finalized both of their designs

gene - referenced from his ingame look in sti, thought hed be a office guy so yep! and his pants have pixels similar to todd's sleeves , bc they are kinda a duo right

helen - awhhg she looks pretty anger in her first sketch and latest design...i thought of her color being green at first and man her skin color was more sickly

otherwise her hair style and form havent really changed. ohh there was a short time where i thought she was the ceo of binjpipe ..glad i didnt continue on with that thought, anyways stan helen bc she has to deal with 5 men sending each other to the bottom constantly </3 , or did so in teh ride

dot! - ah! my first digital sketch of her, really the two things that changed were her hairstyle and her pants. hairstyle is a thing thats stumped me several times lol, ooh her colors changed a bit too

bob - hairstyle REALLY stumped me with this one . and for my first digital sketch i quote myself " honestly keep seeing bob as bald " , then i saw the tvtropes page where it says he implies he has 80s hair or something and i was like " shit "

bidiots host (hc name: quant) - not much here, i based his suit on one i saw on a show we were watching in one of my classes. idk why i gave him a red gem thing tho, why not i guess!

dode - i know i looked up reference images for short hair! her design has changed p much the same the most ive changed were her colors

eventually i drew her ingame look :P

word spud host - literally a cardboard cutout, i think it was seriously inspired by box from inanimate insanity / a humanization of box that was a cutout cardboard and i thought it was nice

Shy anime review (up to ep 5) Spoilers up to most recent unofficial manga translation (around chap 100) and references to untranslated chapters (up to most recent)

I will say I love the anime. Its very cute, I like the style of editing because it keeps the feel of the manga. I will say the style is okay, what I was expecting, I just urge anime-only to at least check out the first volume because I love Bukimi's style of drawing (its so pretty and would be impossible to replicate for animation),

Since the anime is still early on, all I can really say is how much I can think back upon earlier stuff in relation to "reveals" in the later chapters.

For example, when Stardust tells Pepesha that she is too soft on Teru because Teru reminds her of someone. I completely forgot about it in the mange, but now that I remember, I realize he meant Shine/Mei. I don't think Stardust ever mentions anything regarding Mei every again until a possoble scene in the untranslated chapters, in which there is a flashback with him and Pepesha talking (i won't get into details for spoilers sake).

In episode 5, with the old lady (I already forgot her name I'm so sorry) and Teru. Teru mentions going in because she was reminded of the shop when she saw the mountain, and the lady mentions she used to come with Mei when she was younger. The lady also reveals her husband has since passed from them. The lady wishes she could climb the mountain again like she used to with her husband, which urges Teru to seek Lady Black's help. When I first encountered this scene I thought it was partly to show Teru's caring side despite her reserved and introverted nature. She wants to help people. But I feel this also goes Teru's loss of Mei. Essentially both of them lost someone important to them, Teru going into that shop also acted as a way to remind her of Mei, the mountain (while much more of a deeper connection) represents something similar for the lady. Which could possibly be why Teru was willing to go out of her way to get Lady Black's help. Or I am looking too deep into this lol.

(I also feel this could indicate something about Mei. People rarely went to this local stationary shop probably because it was easier to go to a bigger store. Even when Mei is not being a hero she is still helping those around her (supporting the shop).)

I believe maybe next episode has the fever scene, which I think is the first direct mention of Mei. More specifically the lost of Mei 3 years before canon. I don't think its that relevant until the Shinning Six, so not for a while in the anime. But I wonder if they are going to mention that she was the previous Japanese hero now. I mainly think they might because of all the little easter eggs of her (aka the figurines in Teru's room).

The anime is obviously bringing up some of the errors of the early volumes though. Such as the introduction of random side characters that seem they might have later importance, but generally do not. The calligraphy club being one that is essential not brought up again (spoilers) until the latest untranslated official chapters.

Another issues is kinda the rushing of certain character developments. Mainly Stardust and Lady Black. I've seen some say Pepesha too, but since the entire first arc is significant development for her, I would say no. Introducing her and Teru's relationship is a bit rushed, but as the manga later reveals (untranslated chapters/speculation), they've known each other since before Teru became a hero, which is around 6 months before canon if I remember correctly. As in Pepesha helped Teru "official" become Japan's hero after Shine.

Overall, wonderful anime. Beautiful manga. I just read the most recent unofficial translation chapters and I'm screaming. We are entering the Mei backstory sooooonnnn

HAPPY EASTER have some blasphemy from the docs featuring everyone's(?) favorite(??) idiots. Once again: author gave up Catholicism for Lent once and forgot to pick it up again.

“Forgive me, padre, for I have sinned, it’s been…eh, a few months since my last confession, sorry. I’ve never been good at this, it’s a failing. But! The gaps are getting shorter, like it won’t ever be, y’know, ten years again. Heh.”

Silence.

“Right, still too soon. A-anyway, where to begin..well, I’ve been doing a bit of lying, but it’s lying by omission, y’know. Oh, the ol’ classic of disobeying my mother; nothing major but I know it still counts. There’s been a couple of parties, and I did engage in revelry, I know that’s frowned upon if it’s…excessive.”

The silence continued, punctuated by a tiny sigh.

“...oh shit, it’s you, isn’t it.”

The obscuring screen slid to the side and yep, yes, there was José, wearing his most dour expression.

“Hello, Señor Madrigal.”

“Padre Guzmán. Ah. I…wasn’t expecting you.”

“How?”

“I dunno, it’s usually Flores!”

“We’re taking turns, of course we’re taking turns.”

“Right. Obviously.” Bruno stared down at his hands, fretful. “We really should have, I dunno, rehearsed this.”

“No. Absolutely not.”

“Not like that!” 

The silence resumed, more awkward than before.

“Well. At least I already know the more…you don’t need to say anything about the fornication or unnatural desi-”

Bruno boggled at him. “I wasn’t planning to!” he hissed. “That- no, nope, not happening. Do people really confess that stuff? Cuz I can’t imagine.”

“Yes?” Padre Guzmán lifted his eyebrows. “The truly repentant do.”

“Oh. Right.” Then: “Do you? Confess, about all that?”

There was a pause, and he looked upward before drawing a breath and nodding. “I have, yes.”

“...uh huh..” Panic panic panic.

“Not to Flores, God no, but…in the past, I have.”

That sounded significant, and the priest looked troubled. Bruno wanted to follow up on that but before he could Padre Guzmán held up his hand.

“Is there anything more you wish to confess?”

“Ah, no, I’m- that's all.” No regret, no remorse, no repenting. Bruno would ponder the full implications of that later. “So…right, contrition: Lord God, in your goodness have mercy on me: do not look on my sins, but take away all my guilt. Create in me a clean heart and renew within me an upright spirit.”

The priest nodded. “Very well. Pray the rosary to the Fatima Prayer, perform an act of charity, and…oh, do something nice for your mother. I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”

They both made the sign of the cross and murmured an amen.

“Thank you, padre,” Bruno said, getting to his feet as the screen slid closed. Then he paused. “Uh. I’ll be over on Tuesday?”

The screen slammed open again and José glared. “Not here, you- a full rosary, including the decades, three acts of charity, and you’re meditating on the mysteries for the next two weeks.”

“Sorry.”

“Go in peace, Señor Madrigal.” There was another sigh. “I’ll see you on Tuesday.”

Tall-Trees-Falling is a one-note character in the Shivering Isles DLC who mostly stands around lamenting that she sucks at writing. Relatable, but I thought of all the time I spent unable to write or draw....i wasn't just, like, doing nothing. So I made her a sculptor.

But it's a funny thing where if you're not doing The Creative Act that you have tied to your identity, it can sometimes feel like it doesn't count. She's like "oh I build life-size fantastical creatures out of trash and shit I find on the beach but it's whatever." I'm a little like this with my hobbies. I spent years learning different fiber arts and gardening techniques and fucking CARPENTRY but it only recently occurred to me that I was referring to that period as some kind of creative dead zone because I wasn't drawing. Anyway her gag is that she is making immobile sculptures so they can't strike, but she keeps at it anyway.

I want to build her her dream library w my hands and press flowers into the pages of her favorite books so when she opens them she can smile even more. I want to give her a life where there’s always light and music and stability and patience. No question is a stupid question and no emotion is a waste of time. She won’t have to experience anything by herself anymore if that’s her wish. She has the freedom to make mistakes and change her mind and be anything she wants bc her worth doesn’t come from her productivity or her beauty. I want to give her warmth and family and consistency so she can finally feel like she can grow roots and grow inward and heal. I want to give her traditions that she looks forward to every year, maybe every Easter we have a beach picnic or we must watch the same movie on NYE no matter what. I want to watch her continue to grow into the woman she’s supposed to be, while nurturing her inner child. I want to drive her anywhere she wants to go even if we need to go back to the store twice bc she forgot something. I want to put my arms around her and remind her to breathe if we are out and about or in social situations. I want to draw her a bath after a long day of being such a good homemaker. I’ll pump the gas and talk to the waiter and fix up the appts. I’ll walk the dogs and clean the litter boxes and tire the children out so she can have them all heavy-lidded and gathered around her in the evening for story time. I want to see her succeed bc she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. I want to see her try new things and exercise her boundaries and treat herself. I want to meet her where she’s at so I can walk alongside her w my body closer to the oncoming traffic.

Reflection 31/3/24

What a tiring season. Having to adapt to leadership again after a year of not leading drained me more that i thought it would. On top of leadership, i had to balance school, work while thinking about relationship. God revealed many things through this one month and as much as i want to run away, i know that these things are timely and essential for me to grow and guard.

Leadership

Taking on leadership again wasn't a bad decision made. God showed me His heart for His people even more and helped me to grow my heart for the younger girls. But Ling Hui pointed something out to me during mentoring which makes so much sense to me now that i look back at what was being shared.

She reminded me that what is on God's heart is not just His people but i am also on His heart. Beyond constantly giving myself to serve God and His people, i am also His people and i am on His heart. This is so timely and aligned to what God is speaking to me. I didn't consider myself because i forgot that i am on God's heart and that i am also part of His people that He loves and cares for very dearly.

Beyond the serving, God wants me to consider myself and what He longs for me personally. For me, guarding my rest and 'time out' moments is what is important and essential for me to abide in Him. The moment i stop guarding it is the day i fall. Finding rest for me is draw myself away from people so that i can take time to rest emotionally and spiritually.

Relationship

In this season of navigating exploration and relationship, i came to realised that it takes a big part of my mental and emotional space. It's not a bad thing but it becomes unhealthy when i don't guard my rest and mind.

When i don't guard my rest, i become socially drained and emotionally tired regardless of how much i enjoy being around the person i love. I would have more insecure thoughts and would become rather emotional leading me to reflect and share lesser because i'm too tired and just want to run away.

God reminded me that He created relationship and marriage to be one where two sinners can come together to love God together as we love each other. We both are to love God first, be filled by His love so that we can love each other with His love. If i love the other person with my own love, it runs out and i get drained. This love is selfish, self-seeking and conditional. But if i love with God's love, God's love is selfless, unconditional and endless.

Indentity

As i talked to mel, he shared that i don't often share my thought process and the raw thoughts and feelings that i have. Through that convo, it made me realised that all my friendship is like a mentoring rs. Most of the time i am the one who is listening and advicing rather than sharing what is happening im my own life.

At first, i thought that it was because i always think that i can manage my own feelings and thoughts so i don't see the need to share. I also grow up being very independent and to me sharing my thoughts and feelings is like sharing my burdens. When i share my burdens to others, more often than not, it feels like i'm imposing on them.

But after reflecting on Easter and God's design of relatinship and marriage, the issue is not just about pride of not wanting to share but that i am afraid. I fear that if i share my thoughts and feelings, i wouldn't be loved anymore. I fear that if i get too vulnerable, i would in return get hurt. I was insecure and i see love from a worldly perspective.

God's love is unconditional and selfless. If we grow to love God and then love each other with His love, then that love can also be unconditional and selfless. If that is the approach to loving each other, then i can be assured to share my burdens and not feel like i'm imposing. I can be assured and know that even if the person's love fail, God's love will never fail and that i am always loved.

Conclusion

I am on God's heart and i am His beloved. I need to always guard my rest so that i don't fall into sin and pride. When i guard myself and keep myself close to God's love, then i can love His people like how He would.

Here’s the sketching and stuff for the pose of my own character. I had a another friend of mine help with the proportions and how the body would work. Which was quite fun and a new experience for me since I suck at some stuff when it comes to anatomy and such. Also gravity on clothing.. ehh

Here’s where I basically finished up on where I wanted things to be. I also colored coded my character so it would be easier for redrawing on my app. However if you do spot my little note in the corner then.. well.. I forgot, for a bit.

Zues it's a nice box and she didn't mention it but she wants me to say is cuz I asked after that there's a song that goes with it and I'm going to play it next or post it and it's the rooster it's a song about Vietnam and we went through that growing up and she was terrified she says and I didn't know that and she said the recruiting women and I didn't know that at my age back then because they are saying something different and I knew they were free people like me and I thought it was 18 and it was younger and I didn't know that but I was still upset about it and finding it and I was rebelling and said I don't want to go and definitely die for the most part and we learned a lot of stuff because of that pressure is a very valuable time in our lives and that's what the rooster means and it's funny because we developed this beer today and Thor and Freya helped out and got it going and got the Brew House going the German brewery of ours and it's being distributed and we're having Cherry cheeseman hell and he's doing all sorts of things and getting it going and the name of it is very strange but it means that you have someone's beer. Cockfoster, is what it's called and really they used to Foster Cox and it's exactly what it says back the Middle ages, they would bring the roosters around town it's London to wake everyone up to get the day rolling and then gather them up and bring them home and it's it's something that was replaced by Big Ben and that's not where Ben got his name I think the bear and no it says I'm wrong cuz he wakes people up in the morning he makes his people is bears up and it's time to go hunting he says
