i think laura and ryan would've had their own power duo dynamic like dylan and kaitlyn if they'd gotten to spend the summer together. not that they don't have it in game, but i think they could have developed a very profound friendship and i like fantasizing about it. also max and dylan would probably had gotten along super well. kinda really want to write something on this

Relationships I Wish We'd Seen More of in The Quarry

Emma & Ryan: I headcannon that Emma has the ability to get people out of their shell, like Abi so I would’ve loved to see her have a good interaction with Ryan. Even if it wasn’t anything substantial, I think they’re the two most unintentionally funny characters and I feel they would’ve played off each other well.

Kaitlyn & Jacob: I wanted SOOOOOO much more from this friendship, they have one scene together at the van and one at the campfire and that’s it. It’s almost confusing as to why they bothered to establish them as childhood friends if they did nothing with that relationship. I would’ve loved to see more teasing/bickering from them or having Jacob reunite with Kaitlyn and Dylan at the lodge if Ryan successfully sets him free. I just feel super robbed of Kaitlyn and Jacob screentime cause their on-screen chemistry was so fun.

Dylan & Nick: It’s actually criminal how little we got of this duo, they would’ve had some hilarious banter between them while getting to see blasé Dylan interact with Nick’s follow the leader mentality. If we’d seen more of Nick joking around and pranking the others with Dylan it would’ve been a great way to bring a little bit more fun to his kinda stiff character.

Abi & Kaitlyn: This is less of me feeling like I wanted to see more interactions from them but more-so being interested in Abi’s comment of Kaitlyn being “sneaky”. I’m so curious as to what could have happened to make Abi think that, we know Kaitlyn is nosey and gets into other ppls business so it makes me wonder what happened to make Abi immediately suspect Kaitlyn after the truth or dare mess.

Abi & Jacob: I feel like Jacob and Abi are the two sweetest characters in their own way but its sad to me that they don’t interact and it seems like Abi doesn’t like Jacob’s jock attitude. I think if Jacob stopped puffing his chest so much and trying to impress people, they could’ve had a really sweet relationship.

Ryan & Jacob: these two are constantly at odds with one another like the only time they’re not at each other’s throats is if Ryan lets Jacob out of the Hackettet’s basement. I wonder if there’s a reason or if its cause of Ryan’s standoffish nature and being a teacher’s pet to Chris.

Nick & Emma: I feel like these two probably have a lot in common. They’re both giving off the vibe of attractive popular rich kid and they’d naturally click. Emma keeps things fun and exciting and I feel like that’s something nick would be great at keeping up with her.

Kaitlyn & Emma: The two best girls from the quarry obviously. Emma’s urge to stir the pot and Kaitlyn’s love for getting in other people’s business, these two would be gossip queens. I would’ve loved to see Kaitlyn and Emma planning out how they were gonna play the truth or dare game, with Emma agreeing to help set Kaitlyn up with Ryan (until Dylan ruined that plan) then Kaitlyn throws it right back to Emma so she can orchestrate her scheme to set up Abi and Nick.
