it sounds so wistful here i can see so clearly its almost jealous of ocean. it wants to be free. and of course sayer cant recognize that because it sees this as an attack on something its embarassed about.....

in general listening to here there be monsters + this fear back to back makes me wonder if immediately prior to htbm speaker had been given an aerolith speech of "you are the recruitment bot and if you cant get recruitment up we have no reason to keep you around"- and so it still believed in the implicit social contract and so panics when that's broken here, aren't i useful??? Didnt i do it????? didnt i make the number go up???? I cant be killed!!!! whereas sayer (and ocean) long know that while perfection is a must it is only the first step to preserving your life, the social contract is fake, that you have to claw and fight and kill for your life at even the slightest twitch of a programmer's finger towards the keyboard.
