I do have to impress on anyone who wasn't around for it how batshit the reality boom of the 2000s could be. Especially on Fox.

Because it was the 2000s, somehow this ended up with the woman he won being widely vilified and turned into a national punchline. How dare she complain about a massive corporation tricking her into marrying a lying abuser, good thing Matt Lauer's there to take her down a peg

The Swan. A "ugly" woman is given plastic surgery and wins a prize if she's the hottest at the end of the season. If she's not hot enough by the show's standards she's eliminated and called ugly on national TV

The Biggest Loser. Overweight people engage in competitive crash weight loss that often led to awful health complications. Studies showed basically everyone on the show regained any weight they lost once it was over and they didn't have abusive trainers demanding they take huge health risks to win a competitive weight loss competition. Like the others, this one was cancel-oh, it was a massive hit that ran for 18 seasons? Yikes!

Wife Swap and Trading Spouses. These were the same show and had a wife from one family go to another family that was different politically, racially, culturally, religiously etc. Most famous for the God Warrior

At the time people focused on the likes of Fear Factor but looking back it's wild how many of the worst shows toyed with politics. So many of these shows have a premise that's like "what if we exposed these conservatives to these people they hate?" or hyping themselves up as Important Experiments. Then they'd freak out when they got the kind of viral bigoted freakout they were trying to construct the whole time.

There were also a bunch of horrible reality shows, thankfully this time mostly unpopular, in the 2010s that based themselves around economic themes as a response to the market crash, but that's a story for another time

Hello! I don't know if you're still staring intensely at your inbox bored... but! I can give you something to do for a little while if you'd like . It's my first asking, so I'll try to be simple.

How about a one-shot of Ganondorf x reader, where they both used to know each other well romantically before ganondorf became the god of power. (When he was still the king of gerudo), the reader could've been a simple traveler who traveled through the desert (they could be injured due to battles against monsters on the way there) and found themselves in the gerudo town or something where they met him in the market in disguise cause he try sometime to find peace away from all the responsibilities once in a while and they bond over thing they both like.

Some time passes, and their feelings to each other grow more and more until the reader has to leave because of an emergency at their hometown (idk a family member is sick and they need special treatment that is very hard to get) so they leave while promising to ganondorf to come back once the situation is over. But they never do.

Heartbroken and angry ganondorf becomes the god of power, and after some times the reader goes back only to find out by the new ruler of gerudo that he became the man that brought hyrule to ruins.

Idk maybe something with a little bit of hope at the end? The reader could meet link and help him get to the palace. Like they see the man they fall in love with still inside the corrupted being in front of them. And tries to bring him back?

It's a long ask, and it's totally fine if you don't want to write it or have the time to do it (I know it's a lot energy to write) But if it gave you ideas for a new story or inspired you little than that's all that matter 😉. Anyways! Have a wonderful day or night.

The story of the human and the Gerudo King

Long ago, when life was still new and people were still new to the land. Lived 6 different races that rule these lands.

The first hylians came to the land from the goddess Hylia. They created the Hylians as the first race of Hyrule.

And from that race, came all 5 other races.

Rito, hyilans who became one with the sky. Zoras, hyains who became one with the water. Gorons, hyians who became one with the ground. Gerudos, hyians who have split off and became one of their own.

They are a unique species since they only live in the desert. Where they first became is unknown hut they are known for being made of woman and woman only.

But every 100 years, a male is born from a Gerudo, and it becomes the new king of the Gerudo.

The six species are unknown. No one rarely sees them, no one knows about them, but we only know one thing.

They are wise. They have ways to cure the most evil sickness. They know how to survive in places that shouldn't be possible, and they are hard to kill.

Sadly, at one point in time, a king who was ruler of Hyrule found where these humans were and declared war on them. He slaughtered all of them. Their species were lost in time, and no one them about them.

And this is where our legend begins

Before calamity himself became, to be, there used to be a simple king of his lands of the Gerudo. His name was Ganondorf.

His people lived in the desert. They struggled but were happy. Ganondorf traded with people across the land. People always wanted to trade with the Gerudos.

So this is where ganondorf met his love.

He was on his way to a city when the bridge he rode on collapsed. He fell great distance and fell in the river below.

Ganondorf disappeared for weeks and his kingdom feared the worst. Intel Ganondorf arrived and even more unexpectedly that he had a few people with him.

Word spread around in the city that the king was alive and the city was happy.

The humans showed the Gerudos their ways, showed them how to get food in unique ways, showed them how to fight aginst sickness and even showed them how to plant foods in the desert.

While the humans showed them their ways, a human named (Y/N) and ganondorf grown feelings for each other. They were happy, and for years, the humans lived with the Gerudos. Even the human males.

Sadly, (Y/N) had to leave. They had to cross the land to reach another human settlement that are in need of help. They told ganondorf they will return and set corse.

Weeks past and ganondorf waited, and waited, and waited, he waited for days, weeks, and months. After so long, ganondorf became angry and hurt. Angry since (Y/N) has left and that the hyilans have caused trouble.

Hurt because he believes (Y/N) abandoned him. So he decided to declare war on the hyilans and kick out the humans.

This is where calamity came to be. When (Y/N) found out what has happened, they were stuck with grief and hurt.

When link awakened and they met (Y/N), they both agreed to defeat calamity. When link was able to defeat calamity (The first BOTW) (Y/N), talked to him before he was slayed by the light bow.

"I promise to keep fighting for you love. Please do the same...."

Once he was slayed, they fled away. Zelda and Link never saw them again. Though, they wernt gone forever. They where just praying and helping their remaining village survive.

Though (Y/N) hopes to have her love once more.

When Jasy Whistles (Webcomic)

You probably have seen this one around, but I did find it very unique in terms of the worldbuilding. It can be admittedly fairly slow in some points in terms of pacing though actually the thing I enjoyed the most out of the series was seeing Jasy's siblings and learning more about them. Currently as of writing this, the story has finished its second season and the creator is working on it's third and final season.

The story starts out with Hela, a girl who lives in an traditional/ relatively isolated town outside of modern things who wants to take after her grandmother and become the chief of her town one day. Hela's best friend Rodri is one day taken away by one of the demigods, Jasy, and Hela goes to get him back. Jasy needs a human to help him get through the gate as a demigod like himself is not able to, and promises that if he makes a pact with Hela and gets through, she will be able to get Rodri back. Hela is very suspicious of Jasy as not only did he kidnap her best friend, but there are folk stories about how you should not follow Jasy's whistle, as it lures them somewhere bad. However, with no other way to get Rodri back, Hela accepts the pact and they go on their adventure. They are attacked by one of Jasy's half brothers, Ao Ao, a beast that eats everything and gives birth to children with only the desire to consume. As Jasy is not able to hurt his siblings, Hela must be the one to protect him using her skills in archery. They are able to escape and slowly walk through the land itself. There they meet other people there, trapped under strange circumstances. All of them are cursed to grow until they are adults and are never able to grow old, all while still having to sustain themselves on the few resources they have in the land. Hela wishes to open the gate and free the people there, as they are all fighting over the resources, while Jasy doesn't seem to care whatsoever, as he has a distrust of humans after the previous one betrayed him while trying to open the gate. Despite this, Jasy is able to mostly have amends with the people there, and even meets another sibling of Jasy's, willing to give her face to him so as long as they can go through to the gate safely. In the end, this brother instead wants to have Jasy's face, something that he willingly trades over Hela's, so as long as Hela can stay alive. Hela eventually reaches the gate where she sacrifices herself to open it and allow the people into the land. This greatly affects Jasy as he suddenly realizes how much he had cared for and loves her. To get her back, Jasy goes into the spirit realm to try to save her, and he's able to see her past with Rodri. Jasy is fully willing to stay with her in this forever loop of her childhood, but the two of them eventually come back into the world, and now having opened the world so the humans can go in, recover there afterwards. Jasy and Hela continue to love each other in their honeymoon phase, until Jasy is captured by humans. Hela finds out the humans that caught him are under the leadership of Rodrigo's mother, who had been missing for a while, chasing after treasures. We find out that she is the human that betrayed Jasy initially and attempts to get Hela to shoot him, only for her to free him. The last couple of chapters reveals that Mboi Tu'i, the sibling that has taken care of the realm is actually Rodrigo in some way and wants to take Hela away.

So I will say right now I don't really know that much about South American mythos, so there's a lot of things that go over my head in terms of references or how each type of god acted, but I do feel that I did have a good understanding on how each of Tau's children acted and the kind of possible personalities that they have. It's definitely a unique take on mythos that we don't normally see. The artwork as well is very gorgeous, the characters are very pretty and I'm a fan of the more monster designs of the siblings as well, seeing how each of them came to be and just how much they have to suffer. The world that Jasy and Hela go into is very cool, the idea of humans that basically can live forever is both a blessing and a curse, as they cannot reproduce and they still have to eat and fight for territory. I think my favorite of his brothers is probably Kurupi because I really do like sad monster boys that are shunned because of their appearance. Compared to his more real life depictions in myths he's a lot more sympathetic and tragic, so it's nice to see those incorporated in there. The entire plot seems to eventually go to deal with Tau, Jasy's father, in some point in the future.

Still, despite this, I feel like the plot at times can be really slow. There are good moments like when Hela helps out the people who are in stuck fighting each other and we see the dynamic of the world, as well as the aforementioned lore of all of Jasy's siblings, but the actual development of Hela and Jasy's relationship is slow, all things considered. Initially, Jasy and Hela are more like enemies, as Hela is extremely suspicious of Jasy and vice versa, only cooperating with each other because they need each other's help. Still as the story goes on the two of them fall for each other and slowly develop feelings for each other. This isn't necessarily done in a bad way, but it is incredibly slow and honestly lost my attention a lot of the times. I'm also a bit surprised that Hela wasn't more resistant considering Jasy actually did kidnap Rodri and only promised to give him back if she cooperated. While again, the romantic moments were fairly cute, they aren't all that interesting to me and to be honest, I'd rather see the actual worldbuilding that the two go through rather than their relationship. Hela as a main character focuses mostly on her desire to run her tribe, and while she initially is fairly competent and active in the story, shooting a lot of Ao Ao's children, she ends up having to rely a lot of Jasy to save her, especially since she ends up losing her bow and arrow after a while. I actually straight up forgot that she could do archery at the end when Hela was forced by her aunt to kill Jasy, which is probably not a great sign. I don't think she's the worst MC in these stories because she does have a lot of interesting points to her, but it does feel like she was hamstringed after a bit, with a bunch of chapters after Hela dies and is revived pretty much being carried around by Jasy as she recuperates. She does have a fairly strong conviction of not only bringing back Rodri but her connection to her grandmother, as well as the development to allow herself to finally decide things for herself without having it taken away from him, but I still feel like she could have used a bit more agency in the story itself.

Jasy as a yandere doesn't actually start out as one so we actually see the kind of decent he gets into. He is a rather light yandere all things considered, but it is always fun to see them descend into yandere behavior nevertheless. Like I said before, Jasy and Hela have a bit of a tumultuous relationship at first with the two of them begrudgingly forced to help each other, while slowly learning to understand each other a bit more. Jasy doesn't understand why Hela would go so far to save Rodri and later the humans that are trapped but has to go along with her anyways since she's the key to him getting through the gate. By the time he does reach the gate, and Hela sacrifices herself, he starts to realize the error of his ways- while initially he viewed her as a tool to open the gate, he now starts to realize that he actually did care about her, and more deeply love her, even to the point of going to the realm of the dead to find her. He even so much is willing to loop over and over Hela's favorite childhood memories forever so as long as they are together. When Jasy does finally retrieve her, the two of them basically have a honeymoon together, where Jasy is extremely doting on her. We do see some of bits of jealousy earlier with Jasy, such as when one of the guys of offhandedly suggests that Hela is actually pretty attractive, but it doesn't really come to full fruition until after she dies. It's a bit hard to say right now exactly how far he'll go considering it feels like it's just the beginning of the yandere arc for Jasy, but it at least is a start. Not sure how far they'll ramp it up in the third and last season, if at all. Like I said though, it's still pretty light and it's very possible that it might stay that way, though with Rodri's reveal, it could also very well go on a darker path.

Overall, I was pretty surprised at the story, but I do have split opinions on it. The worldbuilding and the mythos of the monsters are really interesting and a definite unique take that I haven't personally seen as much before, but I find that the story and pacing for the characters are pretty tedious and dragging at times. Still, it's extremely beautiful and the story itself is something unique to experience if you are interested in such things.

The Black Witch - Agathario’s daughter

Now that we have Agatha’s backstory we know she didn’t trade Nicky for the Darkhold. But she got it anyway, so what could have happened to her and what could be as much as powerfull, like a son, for Mephisto had acept the deal?

I already had this headcanon of how could be if Agathario had a daugther, I was reading more about the meaning of the names and I found out that Selene is a name of a powerful Marvel character, so I tried to fill some spaces with Agathario’s backstory. We still have a lot of gaps about the way they met and between Nicky’s death and Agatha getting the Darkhold.

This is me having fun with Marvel characthers and finding one who fits really well with the idea of an Agathario’s daughter.

AGATHA AND THE DARKHOLD

Agatha and Rio would see each other again every time Agatha had killed another coven. Agatha would always be waiting for her arrival, for her to collect the souls, almost like she wanted Rio to feel ashamed for this, to make her suffer and remember she did that with their son. Every meeting her hatred towards Rio, as her pain and suffering, would be more intense. So was the sex. It always started like a war, but the longing would be to much for them to handle, so they would get to the truce point, as they would say, like “Switzerland”, and then they would part ways again. And this would repeat, again and again. Until no more.

Agatha knew what was happening in day one. The feeling of magic through her, a magic that wasn’t hers or from any others witches she had killed in the past years. That feeling didn’t happened with Nicholas. That was a magic force growing on her, and it wasn’t like other women would describre their pregnancy, the dizy, headache, nauseas, nothing of it. Still, she knew what was happening, and if she could feel the magic, Rio, the original Green Witch, could too. At least, that was what she believed.

Would it all be hapenning again? What she could do to save a kid who one of their mothers is a entity, Death herself? Would this be a way of paying for killing her own coven, her mother? Mothering kids who were destined to die at birth and be collected by their other mother.

That’s when she decided to go after the Darkhold.

Agatha actually made a deal with Mephisto, but not because of her son, but because of a daughter. But she wasn’t ready for Mephisto’s request. He would give her the Darkhold, so she could hide from Rio and change their daughter’s fate, but in exchange Agatha would forget her existence, her babygirl. A void in her memory. She would get everything she wanted, the Darkhold and protect and hide her, but in his terms.

The girl would be safe, so she accepted. With one request, her name wouldn’t be changed. The deal was made.

What Mephisto didn’t tell her is that he couldn’t feel Agatha’s baby power. He felt the energy emanating from her but couldn’t describe exactly what it was, like the baby herself put up a barrier against him. He also had a hint on why the original green witch, lady Death, hadn’t shown up yet. Death wasn’t the baby’s destiny, and he doubted it would be so soon, with all that power he imagined was there and was being kept hidden from him. But Agatha didn’t know that, so he used it to his advantage. She didn’t need him, but he was glad she didn’t realize it.

All this made him really interested in Selene, she would be there, growing by his side, he could see how powerfull she could become, and control her, the offspring of a powerfull witch and a entity, and now, an agent of Mephisto.

SELENE

From Marvel comics “Selene’s mother was young when she bore her, but would be dead before Selene spoke her first words. The tribal elders ordered her mother’s people to sacrifice themselves to Selene until none remained”

She would have grown up under Mephisto’s influence, and that would be the story she grew up believing, she had two witches mothers, which explained her powers, and they were murdered trying to protect her against their coven, and that’s it, not knowing anything else about her past.

As for her powers, that’s a lot of similarities with Agatha and Rio’s. It’s almost like she has a mix of both.

Again, from the comics:

“Selene maintains her immortality with her power to absorb the essence or lifeforce of others, a process that also allows her to absorb memories and take control of her victims. By drawing on the power she has absorbed, Selene can also grant herself other superhuman abilities like enhanced strength or speed.”

“Selene is also a powerful telepath with considerable telekinetic abilities. Thanks to her extended lifespan, Selene has become one of the most skilled magic users in the world and was even considered a potential candidate to replace Doctor Strange as Sorcerer Supreme. She is capable of displaying various psionic feats with the minds of others including reading and communicating with thoughts over vast distances.”

Guess who has telepathic powers too and can get inside someone’s mind, even a mind under a powerful Scarlet Witch’s spell.

“If she drains only part of a victm’s life force, she achieves a measure of pyschic control over her victm’s mind. Selene can cause a human being to become a psychic vampire like herself, but be subordinate to Selene’s own will.”

That would explain how she could control and hide herself from Mephisto even when she was still a baby. When Mephisto tried to use his own power to sense hers, unintentionally, she absorbed and used his power against him, hiding and protecting herself. And hiding from her other mother, Lady Death. As a life created by Agatha and Rio, their life force would already been part of Selene’s too.

SORCERER POWERS

“Selene can summon demons and other entitties. Can manipulate magical artifcats and teleport over vast-distances.”

This gives off an Underworld vibe, fitting well for an Lady Death’s daughter and Agatha possessing the Darkhold too.

“Selene can shoot powerfull energy blasts"

“Can disguise herself and others”

“Can restrain others in mystical bonds” As Agatha did with Jen.

“Selene can turn herself into a shadow figure enabling her to blend in and also control darkness around her.”

“In her efforts to obtain power, Selene was responsible for the establishment of the hidden Amazonian city Nova Roma”

And how well this fits with someone who is the daughter of a power-addicted witch and the original Green Witch.

AESTHETIC

In the comics, looking at her style, there is a lot of similarities with Agathario’s.

“No one knows where Selene came from, who she is, what she is” So again, it fits well with the idea of Rio not knowing about her and Agatha not remebering her but spreading a “false” story about exchanging a child for the Darkhold, like she tried to deceive herself, to have some memory of her daughter, in a way she could get her back one day, even if she doesn’t even remember it.

Selene likes some purple too.

There’s a movie called “Underworld” where the protagonist’s style and story was inspired by Selene from the comics.

In the movie she grows up with a father figure and a blurred past in which he saved her when her family was murdered. Later she finds out he was actually the one who killed them.

SELENE AS AGATHARIO’S DAUGHTER

With Nicholas, we know he was created at a time when Agathario were in love and in good terms with each other. This only changed after his birth. So that’s Nicholas personality and soul, easy going, pure, full of love.

With Selene it was different, she would be made on a time were there was a lot of love between Agatha and Rio, but a rejected and denied love, with pain, sadness, and loneliness, as they attracted and repelled each other at the same time. A time when Agatha was absorbing the power of other witches through their deaths. These would be strong themes with her, the loneliness, sadness, feelings burning inside her that she cannot properly explain or understand, so she is always masking and channeling as rage and ambition, trying to fulfill something. And with so much power, she can be very destructive

She could got to much comfortable messing with the underwold, and got Rio’s attention. In Selene’s arrogance, she exposed to much of her powers, what Rio would notice and goes to Agatha, demanding answers about the possibility of them having another kid, a daugther. Daughter that Agatha doesn’t remember that exists.

I could see their meeting, Selene finding someone, after centuries, with the same amount, and even more power than her, and the confusion and feelings of familiarity through her magic.

She begins to doubt her past and the little bit of it that she knows, so goes lurking.

She goes to Mephisto, needing help and looking for answers.

To find out later he is the one to blame.

And suddenly all the hidden feelings of loneliness come back with full force, the family she thought had lost, is there, and don’t even knows her. She grew up thinking about the death of two women who had been alive all this time. But at least she still had this, some feeling for them, even though she didn’t know who they were. Only the idea of how her mothers would be like, the family and the feeling of belonging that was denied to her. And having to accept that her mothers didn’t even know, or remember, her existence.

Maybe I will write a fic about them but for know it’s just fun to imagine the possibilities of it and how they would interact, Rio meeting Selene, them fighting each other and Rio noticing the similarities, thinking that this would be impossibe, she would know. Then looking for Agatha, thinking she lied about them having a daughter all this time. And Agatha can’t even understand what she is talking about, denying it in a way Rio believes she doesn’t know either. The three of them meeting. Agatha still in disbelief, she would never forget her own daugther. And finally, the moment of realization.

Mephisto wouldn’t give up his control over her so easily, Doctor Strange could get involved, so it would no longer be about Rio and Agatha fighting against her but fighting for her.

i think that's also the only time vanessa insults wade--when they meet, it's them trading mean comments about themselves, but not each other. if you "lay someone down" you're about to fuck them, so if you "put yourself down" you're fucking yourself. which is how wade and vanessa's story went: they got fucked.

but to "put someone else down".....you're fucking them over. and that's poolverine's whole schtick, ain't it? they went from fucking themselves over to working each other over.

OOH OKAY IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER HERE IS SOME LORE THAT I HAVE CREATED IN MY BRAIN:

Every day I think about the Other Villain Parents. I made a whole post about them, and if I am being VERY honest my current favorite piece of Canon Compliant Lore that I’ve talked about before is that Jay’s mother was one of the only adults to ever escape the isle. Not because she left the barrier, but because she figured out a way to die so thoroughly that not even the resurrection spell could bring her back. She was creative and intelligent that way! She also cut herself to ribbons before throwing her dying body into the ocean to be torn apart by sharks, so…… ymmv on the effectiveness of that escape method. 

In a LESS DARK TURN OF EVENTS, a piece of lore that has yet to make it into an actual fic is Mal’s Dragon Quirks!! I just think that she should be allowed to lay eggs. She deserves it. I need her mommy issues to be weirder, and I think knowing that she hatched from an egg would be just the perfect icing on the cake of her resentment towards her mom. 

Those last two were more of headcanons than Proper Lore, so as a final piece, here’s some thoughts on the Lore of Auradon’s Founding. 

The land that would eventually become the United Sovereignties of Auradon began as a land shaped by magic. It was so magical, in fact, that the Great Mouse who Pulled it from the Sea (as the story goes), was overwhelmed by the land that he had pulled up, and decided to break it down into individual parcels, each governed by their own magical laws and creatures, and each of them tucked away from the others by mountains and woods and great, unpassable desserts. 

He also separated them with a time bubble. 

A lot of time bubbles. 

See, the thing about the Recently-United Sovereignties of Auradon is that each sovereignty was, up until very recently, operating on their own sense of time. For Auroria, they’d been living in what felt like the sixteenth century for ages! They’ve developed a whole heraldic lingo for identifying the different royal houses from afar when they see their merchants and farmers traveling from one stretch of farmland to another, and they LIKE it that way! They like their horses and their spindles and their occasional bouts of malaria when enterprising citizens decide that actually, they will be the ones to enter the Haunted Fairy Swamp and bring Light and Civilization to the Magical Creatures. The magical creatures being primarily the hallucinations that they see once the fever sets in. Y’know. Shortly before they succumb to the mosquito-borne illness. 

Little London (the city formerly known as London, before the time bubbles burst, and the citizens found out that ACTUALLY there was a whole second city hiding behind the foggy gray outskirts of their own beloved city?? And this second city ALSO called themselves London??) was operating under a more modernized time bubble. They have motorcars!! Newspapers!! Pianos and cigars and humane societies for the poor abandoned puppies of the world!! 

The thing about these bubbles is that they were magical. And once the magic on the land reached a critical mass, thing started…breaking through. First it was trading parties and intrepid explorers, the sort of people who would sail across the world as they know it to meet tropical creatures in far-flung lands, but then the other people, the ones who wanted to sell their silk and corn and magic beans, established some pesky trade routes, and the intrepid explorers were forced to accept the fact that maybe they weren’t the only people brave enough to leave their kingdoms and cities and sovereignties, and everyone started getting to know their neighbors a lot more, and the kingdoms mostly figured out which parts of the wood were safe to travel and which parts would get you trapped in a loop around the same five or six miles of land for what felt like hours, until you finally stepped out and learned that oops, it was closer to fifty or sixty years. But they put up signposts! And trail markers! And things went just swell! 

For a while. 

The other thing that the time bubbles were doing, in addition to keeping each portion of the land different and interesting and developing on their own timelines, was keeping the overall ratio of Evil Folks low enough and spread out enough that each individual enclave of evil thought they were the ONLY ones left doing REAL evil in a land of HORRIBLE BORING DO-GOODERS. 

The gradual dissolving of the bubbles let the ordinary people of each kingdom connect and trade and sort of balance things out, timeline wise, but it also let the evil folks know that they weren’t alone. And when you have just a few evil folks, they sort of stay quiet, because they know there’s not enough of them to really do anything, and if they get cocky and try it anyway, one or two hero types with a big sword can go bonk them on the head and tell them to piss off, and the kingdom is saved, and all that. 

This whole sword-bonking business gets a lot more difficult when the evildoers realize that there’s rather a lot of them actually, and if they work together, they can probably all go gang up on one little kingdom, and if they outnumber the guys with the swords in this LITTLE kingdom, then well, what’s to stop them from being the ones in charge for once?? 

Shortly after the Great Meeting Period, we arrive at the First Villain Uprising. 

It fails, obviously, because the powers of goodness always prevail, and the leaders from the Land of the Dawn and the Sunrise Land and the Kingdom of Corona and the Dutchy of Golden Light all get together and cheer about how good they are at bonking bad guys with swords, and also start having a discussion that MAYBE now that they all know each other so well, they should come together, make a real set of unified trade documents, some laws that they can all agree on, that could apply to every kingdom, give the folks who travel around some consistency. 

(At no point do they wonder why so many of these kingdoms are named after the sun) 

Unfortunately, while the leaders of these lands were all shaking hands and writing up agreements and generally being good, neighborly ruling folk to one another, the villains plotted a second uprising, which turned out to be much more successful now that the heroes weren’t watching out for it. 

THIS uprising worked out great for the villains! Until oops, in their haste to take over the kingdoms that had so scorned them for being evil, they forgot that goodness LOVES having a thing to come together and fight against, and in that roundabout way, the United Sovereignties of Auradon came together once and for all to fight against the Second Villainous Uprising, and the villains once again orchestrated their own downfall by failing to reckon with the true power of friendship. 

And also the power of putting the guy who turns into a wild beast in charge of the army. 

Oops. 

And so in this way, the United Sovereignties of Auradon was founded, and King Beast, formerly known as Prince Adam, was put in charge of the whole united mess of the thing, because he did a pretty good job with leading all the united armies of all the little kingdoms, so surely he’ll do an equally good job leading all the united regular people of all the little kingdoms too!! 

In a stunning humanitarian move that would be initially applauded from sea to sea, King Beast took the lessons he’d learned from the fighting, and decided that even villains deserved to live. (after seeing so many of his own people fall in the uprising, some said that he couldn’t stomach the thought of sentencing so many villains to death) To grow. To learn from their mistakes. 

So he gathered them up and sent them to an island trading outpost, surrounded by water so that they couldn’t sneak ashore and terrorize the ordinary people anymore, and he worked alongside the good fairies to place a barrier over the island, one that would allow them to live in peace, free from the violent death that had taken so many lives already. 

And so they stayed, for twenty long years…

Luocha's Hidden Affection

In a galaxy painted with the hues of countless stars, where celestial currents carried whispers of stories untold, you and Luocha found yourselves bound by fate's gentle threads. Beyond the stellar seas, you were two wandering merchants, traversing the cosmos in pursuit of trade and adventure. Coincidence, it seemed, was your constant companion, as you both continually gravitated towards the same planets, like celestial bodies orbiting a shared center.

The bond between you and Luocha transcended spoken words. It was a comfort found in the silence shared while gazing at foreign skies, in the camaraderie forged over cups of intergalactic tea. Each encounter brought with it a sense of familiarity, a connection that defied the vast expanse that separated your worlds.

But what you didn't know was that Luocha's heart held a secret—a secret that bloomed like a delicate nebula within him. He was your secret admirer, a quiet observer who had fallen for your spirit, your laughter, and the way your eyes sparkled with the same curiosity that ignited his own. Piper’s Relationship With Each Character: Part 4

FINALLY FINISHED THE STUDENTS I've been so busy I am very sorry! Now it's time for the final batch of students! Still have not finished Book 6! May do the staff next, but I want to start new projects so that may not be for a while!: Ignihyde and Diasomnia SPOILERS FOR BOOK 6 and 7, may change after chapter 7 has completed. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Idia:

Never really got to see him in person until bumping into him at the festival in chapter 5 (a change to the original story). The first thing she told him on a whim was, "your hair is pretty" which he responded by booking it back to his room. Other than that, the whole STYX attack was probably the most stressful and overstimulating moment of her life at that time. Plus, he had her cat... so. But, she is able to sympathize for his situation and loss and partially forgave him after the whole fiasco (emphasis on partly, she is gaining more boundaries and focusing on her own needs at this part of the story).

She found herself fascinated with video games since her journey at S.T.Y.X, so Ortho (forcibly) asked his brother to recommend her games. Seeing her fascination with animals and creatures, plus her status as a beast tamer, Idia recommended her a game where you caught monsters and fought others with them. Piper thought it was a little harsh at first, but soon became obsessed with it. Soon she and Idia became monster catcher buddies; battling, trading monsters, and exploring each other's worlds. Idia even got her a plush version of her favorite monster.

Ortho:

Reminds her a lot of herself when she was a kid still playing in the woods. His playful spirit, his dream of adventure, and only wanting what's best for others. Makes her wish she could be that young again and be as playful as she wanted to be. But, he gives her the opportunity to go back to those days through hanging out and playing games with each other from time to time. He even brings (forcefully) Idia to play as well. Even though he is a robot, she still treats him like a human being. Especially since he became a 1st year student along side her and the gang.

Malleus:

WHERE TO EVEN BEGIN!!! Ok, so first of, just like the other Yuus, she was never really scared by him. More fascinated by his mysterious, domineering, yet charming and distinguishable demeanor. She did not know how powerful and well-known he was after all. Which in turn, made him fascinated by her. The nickname "Hornton (Tsunotarou)" certainly caught him off guard, but made him ever more curious about the "child of man."

Piper soon found herself to be more curious about Hornton as well, so they started to hang out with each other alone. She now has an encyclopedic knowledge on gargoyles now because of him. In return, she talks about stuff she likes and stuff from her home world. She soon learns that Hornton is just a dorky guy who likes to be where he can be himself and be surrounded by the things he loves, just like her. She also relates a lot to her loneliness, while hers was more voluntary than his. Things went south when she told him she may have found a way to head home. Ended up with her and the school asleep.

Silver:

In her story, Piper and Silver meet earlier than the other Yuus. He and Sebek first appear after Malleus's first appearance in Book 2 and actually introduce themselves to her. Their second interaction involved him defending her after she was being bothered by students who she stopped from pulling a prank on a sleeping Silver. The more they saw of each other, the more their friendship grew. Piper was definitely excited whenever animals started to form around Silver, wishing she had that ability.

Ever since the incident, Silver tries not to fall asleep around her. But, she understands that it can't be helped sometimes. Whenever he does go to sleep or she finds him asleep, she tries to stay with him so nothing happens to him. Sometimes, when Piper needs a break from everyone, she hangs out with Silver. For someone who is basically a fairytale knight in shining armor (which she adores since she loved reading fairytale adventures in her home world), he is also one of the calmest, down to earth, kindest people at NRC. She's happy to have someone like this around. Even if she does consider herself too "boring" to be around him, which he disagrees with.

Sebek:

ON THE OTHER HAND, THERE IS SEBEK. Like I said before, Piper meets him and Silver in Book 2 after Malleus' appearance. They asked if she's seen Malleus, which Piper says no because she has no idea who he is and does not know it is Hornton. Cue Sebek yelling in her face saying some righteous speech about 'how can she possibly not know about the great and mighty prince Malleus Draconia.' Which leads to Piper covering her ears and starting to sink into the ground and Silver apologizing for Sebek's actions. Definitely not a good start.

Now, whenever he is around, she wears her earmuffs. When she was in the dream relm and her earmuffs were gone, she had to adjust to Sebek's voice. Luckily, Silver was able to explain Piper's oversensitivity to Sebek and he has gotten better at controlling his volume around her. Now, she feels like she doesn't need earmuffs or headphones when he is around anymore. Sebek also respects her for her bravery (as well as being friends with wakasama).

Lilia:

Reminds her of her father back in her home world. Fun-loving, funny, caring, tries to be 'hip' with the kids. The only difference being that Lilia does not push his kids into something they don't feel like they can do (at least to her knowledge). Usually is around when Piper hangs out with Malleus or Silver, asking if they ever need anything and saying normal parent things like, "you kids have a good time!"

Besides Trien and maybe Crewel, Piper feels like Lilia is the only adult that she can depend on whenever she needs an adult. And those father skills come in handy. Dad hugs, dad jokes, dad food... well maybe not that, but pretty much anything she needs, she can go to him. Her respect for him as a father grew exponentially after seeing his dream and learning about him, Malleus, and Silver. Does make her miss her parents back home, but at least he can be her temporary dad until she gets back home... at least he was.

I got this question asked by Jemma and Daisy a while back. Maybe Liane asked me before too, I don't remember. Anyways, so, I decided why not answer it here.

How did I meet my man, Nik..

Well, believe it or not, we met on a mission. Long story short, we were both somewhat fresh out of the academy. Nik got out way before I did and was already doing missions, so I came in a little later. I had gone on a couple myself either with Melissa in my ear as my guide or dead straight into a battle with Grant Ward.

So when I met Nik, we were both a bit more experienced. *she chuckles* It was actually Phil Coulson, who put us together on a mission beforehand. He must've saw a spark between us and wanted to bring up a challenges to have a face. Nikolai wasn't very pleased to be partnered up for a undercover trip to Brazil to scout and take down of the rich trade owners there. He wasn't very pleased in general.

He was cold and distant.

Because this was a light inside of him was gone in a way. Or so he thought.

You know how some days the clouds are all thick and patted together so you can't see the sky, nor the sunlight come flashing through? That was Nik.

I understood that something must've happened that took his sunshine away. I didn't ask at the time what it was. But I found out later on. But back to the story, we arrived at Brazil at a hotel and I was rather excited to be back in Rio because it was beautiful, even though I have a bit of a record there before I joined SHIELD. Ooops. We knew our assignment and our cover story, as we spent the whole day staking out together in this car outside the cartel's beach house, which is where we got to actually know each other.

I brought us food and drinks, trying to lighten up the mood with a few jokes here and there, let him get to know his partner for the trip a bit better. Nik did let me in on a couple of details on his life and half smiled telling me about his time traveling across the country with his parents. He cracked a small joke here and there but never a actual laugh or full blown smile of his just yet.

We went to the beach later on for a break, which allowed us to scout the place better and meet the area of people we might need to take down later on. I remember it was late, very late at night, and we were still at the beach.

We were making even more small talk, when I said some half handed comment about the mission and everything in-between, how we were paired up and whatnot.

I don't remember what it was. Probably something accidentally among those words that shifted the tone.

Because that's when I finally got a chuckle, which grew into a laugh for the rest of the night.

I saw that beauty of a cheeky smile of this, the same smile that would lead now into the rest of our trip together.

It became a lighter time afterward, as we went the next day to the man's beach house, his name was Richard Silva, dressed that day in other clothing for the invite. He was having a early get together, filled with women in bikinis, guards rounding the place, men jumping into the pool and his friends all dressed in white suits just like him.

The two of mingled, tangled with other guest and got some drinks in the process of the job. We then formed into the plan, heading south into finding all of the money stolen, calling for SHIELD backup who was there at the party themselves if things got too messy.

Which they did.

After getting the money, which meant tearing down a few walls and putting them in bags, Sliva's men came roaring and trying to strike down the agents. Us included. It was fight that lasted what felt forever.

As we were down one of the halls, almost to the safe zone, Nik was being hell a gunpoint as many other guards were surrounding in and other agents. It was a fight, a free for all at that point, as guns were blazing and knifes were being pulled out. I made the smart, but according Nikolai an idiotic one, to take the bullet for him.

The bullet went flying and I went racing as the bullet entered above my ribs but just below my belly button. I thought I had nothing to lose, and it wasn't worth an agent falling-especially my partner for that matter-to have them bleeding out. In my eyes Nik was too good to be died, being so young and not having anyone who ever cared enough for him to even make sure he was alright.

He lost his sunshine, he needed someone to show him that there was still good left in this world. Even if I was stupid enough to be the one to make the point to him.

Flash forward to a couple of hours later, I'm at the medical wing in the hospital. I had surgery and the mission was completed. I woke up laying in one of the bed to find Nikolai standing-well, sitting nearby my bedside after filling out some extra paperwork.

He was so angry at me, calling me an idiot and a couple of other things for taking that bullet for him. He was furious, curious and trying to understand why I did but then something hit him.

I remember I said, "You convinced yourself that everything you've been though, took away your humanity. But I think because of your humanity that you made it through.."

He didn't know how to express his emotions very well after that statement. He kept trying to block out my words as we bickered about the situation at hand, but he knew he couldn't. I was a little hurt by his words, trying to not get emotional but his face said it all.

Everything I needed to know, that we both needed to know.

He slowly kinda let me in, with what he told me, which I won't say on here. Because it's not my place, but he wasn't someone who was loved or shown much after his parents died. He was hurt. I told him that he may not see anything that I was saying at that moment, but there still is a light inside of him.

Then it finally clicked, he looked confused, very confused, but also feeling like there was someone who understood him. Gave him a chance. I have been on the other end of people not believing in me, so I let him know that I was there if he needed someone to talk to.

Even if I may be grumpy or annoyed, I was there to listen to him, even if I won't understand everything. I was there. That's what mattered.

Meet the wip: The War Of The Human Throne

Sinopsis:

Three races have been at war with each other for centuries; each one fighting over nothing but the right to call themselves “the true humans”. There was, however, one small land where the war didn’t touch, the isle of Itarja.

When the isle is attacked, destroying the peaceful lives of the people there, a few dozens of habitants manage to flee, and, among the refugees, a boy sees firsthand the hellscape his world is at the moment, and decides to go on a journey to put an end to the war.

About the setting: It’s mostly magicless, and as it is stated in the synopsis, there are three races (perhaps one day there were more) but I wanted to keep all of them pretty close to what we have as humans irl, with only a few silly changes like, “slightly stronger people” and “silver blood”. The point is that they are all equally “human” and whoever reads the story can’t use their irl knowledge to decide who would fit our definition for an actual human. Each of the races is spread around the world and the different countries are divided in what race the country is from. Basically all of the countries of the same race are allies, with a few exceptions here and there. The isle the protag is from managed to stay away from the war only by buying peace; they had an alliance with a powerful country and traded resources from their land with them in exchange for protection, and it had worked out pretty well before an enemy of their allies attacked them. After that, because of the treaty the isle had, their refugees were able to flee to there under some conditions. The worldbulding is pretty nice, because it’s one of my oldest stories that I have actually been working on consistently, but that’s basically it.

Hi! I'm Alex, she/her, 32 years old. I was a member of the writeblr community a few years ago, though I never made a proper writeblr introduction. I stopped being active around the time of the pandemic, unsurprisingly and for a number of reasons. Now that my life is back together and the internet is...the way it is, I decided it was a good time to come back here. What I Write

I am a self-published author with a debut novel that released in May, The Wounds of Wisdom. Wounds is the first in a YA romantic fantasy trilogy with court intrigue called the Time's Sacrifice Trilogy. I currently expect the second book to be out in September of 2024. My stories feature messy, emotional characters coming together and learning to lean on each other while unraveling still messier truths about the world around them and the people who hold power. Greetings, reader. My name is Aitragos, and I am the keeper of this collection of materials. I'm not sure what brings you here but if you wish to peruse my writings about this particularly interesting band of souls, I can help direct you betwixt them and give you a brief overview of each of their stories.

Book 1: The Kingslayers

This is the story of two Gilneans whose fates became intertwined on the day they both contracted the Worgen curse and were ousted from their home, forever changed. Gaeralf Bevelle was a decorated soldier of the Gilneas Brigade. Khrystia was a surnameless gutterbound criminal, the very kind he was bred to despise. They have formed an unlikely friendship through their combined suffering, but the continual trials of war have strained their relationship to levels that are proving difficult to maintain alongside their responsibilities as champions of the Alliance.

Book 2: Evergreen

This is the story of a young Kaldorei girl struggling to find her purpose in life after being separated from her father in a deadly Northrend storm. Veyelline was born of both the soil and the stars, to a simple hard-working father named Thelaros Lunaveil, and a mother who she has never known but has started to be visited by in her dreams. While wandering Azeroth alone and confused, Veyelline comes into contact with a curious Ren'dorei mage named Agholor Starbreaker, a tailor by trade with a thirst for as much magical knowledge as possible. Their chance encounter may be just what each of them needs - to help Veyelline find her purpose, and for Agholor to learn as much as he can about the Kaldorei and their druidic magics.

Book 3: Justice & Irony

This is the story of two Shal'dorei trapped inside Suramar City during the Legion occupation on opposite ends. Auroris Korgryn was the daughter of two highly ranked nobles in Elisande's court, cruelly groomed by her parents her entire life to meet their standards of perfection. Auroris wanted nothing more than to not only break free of her pristine chains, but to aid her suffering kin in the city slums who were starving to death, becoming withered under the Legion's harsh reign. She meets a withered man named Luccian whose defiance is slowly inspiring a secret rebellion, and decides to sponsor him with mana stolen from her parents' estate. He rewards her by training her in the art of assassination. But it is yet to be seen whether Luccian's intentions are truly rooted in good or evil.

Book 4: Voice of the Demon

This is the story of two desperately lonely souls who have left behind their pasts, but are filled with deep regret. Edoran Darrowthorne is an Illidari - a night elf fused with a demon to gain powers of the Fel. He took on this burden after he was overcome with rage over the slaughtering of his family by the Legion, but now that the war is over, he is realizing that this transformation was a terrible mistake. He longs for the days where he served as a sentinel of the Kaldorei, steeped in nature and its beauty. While wandering aimlessly through the forests of Aszuna, he meets a small elf the likes of which he's never sensed the aura of - a Ren'dorei who has taken the name Xeria Evenglow. She is training to be a hunter alongside learning to control her newly gained void powers, but it is proving to be a struggle beyond anything she could have imagined. Edoran becomes a fel green light in Xeria's deep violet darkness, and she becomes the brightest aura he can 'see' with his spectral sight. They become dependent on one another to ground themselves in their trauma, but are both too afraid to admit how much they care for each other out of fear that they will be rejected.

Book 5: Indigo

This is the story of an excommunicated Shal'dorei noble known as Algernon Alta. Once the right-hand advisor to Elisande, Algernon completely abandoned his post and his people when the Legion was invited into the city walls. Alongside his blue drake companion, myself, he has ambitions to remotely use the Nightwell to create a new Well of Eternity, defeating the Legion and providing a source of magical power for the elves akin to the days of yore. However, Algernon becomes distracted when a thin and withered Shal'dorei woman with pitch black hair and deep indigo skin wanders into his abode near death. He's never cared for a lowly soul before - why would he start now? But he can't just let her die.

Review:

A new take on When Harry Met Sally with a dash of You're the Worst (FX). A fun and romantic story featuring a commitment-phoebe comedian who is chaos personified and a hopelessly romantic chef who lives his life neatly, who both end up meeting only to realize they are both sleeping with the same woman. Told through different spans of time, the story follows free-spirited go getter Ari, who is working to become a comedian and Josh, an ambitious chef. They were never suppose to meet but end up meeting when the woman they're both sleeping with dips and they have a pretty bad first meeting. The next time they meet, they're again at another low in their own perspective love lives, Ari doesn't believe in true love and is always the first to leave... except now she's getting a divorce, while Josh wants nothing more than to find true love but keeps finding himself in relationships that end badly. Ari and Josh end up bonding and soon realize that they have connections and could be friends, and soon find themselves bonding, watching movies together, going furniture shopping, helping each other out... but something else is happening between them. Can they both work it out before it's a missed opportunity or will they break apart? This was such a fun twist on When Harry Met Sally, especially since the gender role reversals (which I loved), but it was also reminding me of a show I absolutely love called You're the Worst (FX) and it was just the perfect mixture of both and I had so much fun with this book. I couldn't put it down and I was laughing and also crying over these characters, Ari and Josh have their own issues, but they work together so well, their friendship is so sweet and they care about each other so much. Seriously, it was great that you got to see them fall for each other and the genuine friendship between them. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a fun romance read about two messy people with a dash of opposites attract, and enemies to friends to lovers!

New Toy...

It's always so fun and exciting to meet new people. It's also quite hard for me, which makes it that much nicer when I do. With that said, I've spent the last month or so visiting with and playing online with a new, to me, toy (I say to me, because they are well established online). And they've been very fun to play with and tease online.

During this month of visiting, and playing, I learned that this toy was much more then a simple sub to play with. They displayed Switch tendencies, and they wanted to explore those as well. THAT part was left out of all of their blog posts and profile to protect their inbox from blowing up with "please drop me" messages, and I totally get and respect that. (Also, don't do this, get to know who's getting in your head first. So much better with a connection there). Long story short we've spent the last month talking with, and teasing each other. Which leads us to yesterday...

We decided it was time to try a call together. This would be their first time going under hypnosis during a live call, and I hadn't been on a double switch call in over 3 years, so to say we were both excited would be an understatement.

It wasn't all play. We visited for a while, continuing to get to know each other. Then we started light teasing using/trading some of our pleasure trigger phrases on each other. Toy, never having heard these phrases out loud, found themselves feeling very fuzzy and drifty. With permission, I guided them the rest of the way down.

Keeping the details between us, for it take us their story to tell-if they wish, they dropped, and woke, and dropped some more. After a while of this, I brought them back, and we decided together that we would listen to a file together. And then it was my turn to be empty and blank for a while. I'm going to keep those details between us for now, but it was AMAZING.

When I was alert again, I did toss a spiral their way, simply to see their reaction (as best I can in an audio call anyway), and they were indeed captivated by it, as we both suspected they would be.

Now we were almost 2 hours into playing, so I brought Toy back up and cleared their head, leaving only one or two post hypnotic suggestions in there. And eventually sent them about their day.

Long story short, yesterday was a very fun filled, exciting, amazing, sensual, erotica filled day, and I loved every minute of it.

Easy Farm Guide

Some days ago, I posted a guide where I described how it is possible to get more of those „once per save“ Pokémon. Today, I‘d just like to show you how good it actually works. And how you can do it yourself.

Recap: I own 2 Nintendo Switch. On 7 out of 8 accounts on each Switch* for both games are saves prepared with Tera-Raids unlocked (approximately 55min playtime each). I have 2 main saves one of each game where I completed the story and unlocked 7-Star Tera-Raids. As you can see in the linked Video, I‘m playing the Tera Raid of my choice (in this case Walking Wake) on both switches simultaniously. Therefore, I‘m hosting the Raid with my main save and join with my second save where I just unlocked the Tera Raids.

*I let left open 2 saves on the second Switch, because I‘m transferring my main saves between both devices forth and back.

There are some cool notable mechanics:

The used Pokemon won‘t disobey your commands independent of your amount of gym badges.

Even if I disconnect with my main save, I‘m able to finish the Raid with the other save and can catch the Raidmon.

You can reset your Raids by time travel = while your game is still open and active you go to your switch settings and change the time for example set the clock back one minute. As soon as you go back to your game, all outbreaks and Tera Raids are resetted. With this mechanic you can easily farm 7-Star Tera-Raids and catch multiple Raidmons within a few days.

As long as you don‘t go online or activate the news option in the mystery gift section, your 7-Star Tera-Raid will be active as long as you want.

You’ll find several good choices for your Tera-Raids if you search „[The Pokemon] raid solo“ on YouTube with a strategy that suits you the most. If you play actively just your main save, you’ll own enough resources to build good Pokemon for high-tier Tera-Raids. Honestly, in my opinion there was only one Tera-Raid event which was that tough to solo fight that it might not be able to win it: Mighty Mewtwo from Septembre 2023.

NPCs can be very helpful as well, depending on your strategy:

If their Pokemon faint, the timer will not be affected.

They will always boost your Defense and Special Defense at the beginning of the fight.

The used Pokemon are random, but most of them are of good use in all kinds of scenarios. Several intimidate Pokemon (Arcanine, Tauros, Staraptor) are available, they can paralyse the opponment (Umbreon, Dudunsparce), they can burn or poison the opponment (Drifblim, Clodsire) or simply will heal you (Arboliva, Gardevoir), etc.

You can transfer your save game to the other console if you are logged in with the same account on both devices. With this, you‘ll be able to host even the other version exclusives e.g. Iron Leafs on Scarlet without going online or meeting with a friend who owns the other game.

You‘ll be able to catch each „once per save“ Tera-Raid Pokemon up to 30 times if you have prepared 7 additional saves per game per device (= 28 + 2 main saves) and without preparing another save. If you own both games physically twice, you‘ll be able to catch all version exclusives „once per save“ Tera-Raid Pokemon up to 30 times as well, otherwise you‘ll get them „only“ 15 times.

Last, but not least, you may ask yourself why you would need that many of them… well, for trading purposes, of course 😂 To be honest, it is some kind of a bet that you‘ll be able to trade them for something decent, however, please keep in mind that their marking or exclusiveness might be interesting for players who missed the chance to catch them themselves. I would go even a step forward: They‘d be a great start for your carreer as a trader.
