i wish i was a spreadsheets type of autism. im just a lists type of autism. i dont have spreadsheets but i have many documents on my laptop of lists of information. ocs, flight rising, etc. if i still played wolvden id probably have documents for that too.

The Right Chapter 22 || Aaron Hotchner x Fem Reader

You're passing the diamond on your chain between your fingers anxiously a few days later as you and Spencer pour over a map on the jet. You’re headed to Colorado after a family annihilator had struck twice in the same small Denver suburb. The whole town was on alert, and you needed to solve this one fast before the whole state devolved into hysteria. Hotch decided on the jet to send you, Reid and JJ to the precinct-- you and Reid will keep working on the geographic profile, and JJ will coordinate local law enforcement. He, Morgan and Emily are headed to the neighborhood to see if any of the locals had noticed anything off.
“There has to be a connection to this specific suburb. Why come ten miles outside of Denver when the city, or even a closer suburb, would be a more target-rich environment?” You floated an idea past Spencer, who nodded in agreement.
“You think he sought out these families in particular?” He asked, turning his attention to the pictures on the whiteboard.
“Not necessarily. Garcia’s still looking for a connection between the families, but so far she hasn’t found one. I think these two families were practice for something worse, or for a family that matters more to him.” You conclude, hoping more than ever that you had profiled wrong.
“If that’s the case, our presence here might trigger the unsub to escalate,” he points out with a grimace.
“Or, hopefully, it will send him into hiding.”
“We’ll never find him if he does that.”
“We’re gonna have to.” You sigh, pulling your attention back towards the map. You pour over it, certain that if you look just a little closer, the answer will jump out at you, but it doesn’t.
Geographic profiles are always helpful, and you and Spencer were great at them, but they rarely solved cases on their own. The reality of the situation is that without any info on the unsub or the connection between the victims, you were essentially trying to create something out of nothing. You push your chair out from the table, deciding to give your mind and your eyes a break, when your phone starts to ring. It’s Garcia.
“Oh, you’re just my favorite person.” You said into the phone by way of greeting, hoping that she’s going to present you with the missing piece that will make all of these seemingly unrelated pieces of information make sense together.
“Careful, peach! There’s someone else on the line who might object to that,” Garcia warns you.
“What do you have for us, Penelope?” Aaron asks.
“So, the Sutton and Mack families have more in common than we thought-- not so much socioeconomically, but their kids were both enrolled at the local high school, although different ages, and the moms were on the PTA together.”
“Were they friends? The kids, or the moms for that matter?” You ask immediately.
“It doesn’t really look like it, but I’m going to keep digging,” she tells you.
“And no connection between the fathers?” Hotch asks.
“Nope, Mr. Sutton was an attorney and Mr. Mack was a cab driver. Doesn’t seem like they ever would have met.” She tells you both.
“Garcia, do me a favor and make sure Mr. Sutton wasn’t in Mr. Mack’s cab within the last month or so. Let us know when you have more.”
“Oh, sir, before you both go, there’s one more thing.” She blurts out before Aaron can hang up the phone. “It’s about Josh.”
You take a sharp breath in, and Spencer’s in tune to you immediately, his head jerking up from the maps, looking you over to make sure you’re okay.
“What is it?” Hotch asks, sounding every bit as tense as you feel.
“Josh was arrested this morning. Busted for possession during a traffic stop,” She tells you and you let out a sigh of relief.
“That’s… that’s great news.” You say.
“I thought you’d both like to know.” Garcia tells you.
“Anything else?” Hotch asks, and you're perplexed by his lack of response to such a good update.
“No, that’s all for now. I’ll call you back as soon as I have more on the case.” She says, and the line clicks.
“What was that about?” Spencer asks, bringing you back to reality, and you share the info from Garcia about the victims. You can tell that he knows that there’s more, but he doesn’t press and you don’t offer.
“If both the kids and the moms knew each other, we could be looking at a bullied kid or a woman scorned.” You theorize.
“A woman wouldn’t kill the kids, at least not a mother. And if the woman wasn’t from the PTA, why target these moms in particular?” Spencer argues, and you agree.
“Could be a man, too. Maybe he’s jealous that he doesn’t have the picture-perfect family he’s destroying.”
‘That’s more likely. Although with nothing connecting two husbands, we’ll have a hard time profiling a man if that’s the case.”
“Okay, so for now we focus on the kids until we find something that pulls us another way. You want to take the Macks and I’ll work on the Suttons?”
“Will do.”
You work in silence for a couple more hours until Hotch, Morgan and Emily return.
“Anything helpful?” JJ asks, coming into the room behind them.
“The moms were friendly, but not necessarily friends. The kids mostly hung out in separate social circles, it seems.” Morgan informs you all.
“Any obvious power imbalances between the kids groups, or bullying?” You asked.
“None that any of the kids we interviewed brought up.” Emily tells you.
“None of the moms mentioned it either-- and they’d be more likely to bring it up than the kids would.” Aaron tells you.
“So we’ve got a whole lot of nothing.” JJ concludes, and you sigh.
You all continue to work for a few more hours-- putting together profiles of each of the members of the families that ultimately bring you no closer to finding the unsub.
“We’ll be back here first thing tomorrow morning-- there’s nothing else we can do tonight.” Hotch concludes as he pins the last index card to the cork board. “Let’s head to the hotel and get some rest.”
Despite the exhaustion that has soaked its way deep into your bones, you and the rest of the team pull yourselves out of your chairs and towards the SUVs. You nearly sink into the leather, and if he wasn’t such a stark professional, you might have asked him to carry you up to your hotel room. He did, however, offer you a very gentlemanly hand to help you out of the car, and wrap his arm around your waist as the two of you trudged your way into the elevator and down the hall towards your room. You collapse onto the mattress as soon as you make it through the door, and Aaron chuckles at you, taking a moment to brush his teeth and change. When he settles on top of the covers next to you, you speak up, although hadn’t really intended to do so.
“Aaron, can I ask you something?”
“You can ask me anything, my love,” Aaron mumbles like it’s the easiest thing in the world as he leans over to set the hotel alarm clock that sits on the bedside table.
“When Garcia told us that Josh was arrested… you didn’t seem happy.” You said, decidedly not a question. He answers you anyway, shifting towards you to look you in the eye before he speaks up.
“I’m sorry honey. I’m relieved, of course I am. I was just focused on the case this morning. Maybe I haven’t fully processed it yet,” he confesses. “But of course I’m happy for you. I would have been happier to arrest him myself, but this is just as well.” He tells you with a rueful smirk.
He’s lying, and you can see it in his face. Maybe lying is a strong word, but there is definitely more to it than he’s telling you. “You’re sure? There’s nothing else that’s bothering you?” You pushed, but he shook his head, looking down at his lap.
“I’m sure, doll. I really am happy. We’ll take Jack out when we get home to celebrate.” He tells you, leaning over to kiss your temple.
“Maybe a bike ride and some ice cream? I haven’t been out on the bike with him since he got his training wheels off.” You suggested.
“Sounds perfect,” he tells you, reaching to kiss you again and moving to wrap his arms around you, which you dodged.
“Get the bed nice and toasty for me while I change,” you smirked, rolling off the mattress and heading towards your suitcase for some pajamas.
You were back at the police station before the sun rose the next morning, pouring over the transcripts of what had come in from the tip line the night before in the hopes that you might find something useful. Your desk looked the same way it used to when you were studying for exams in the academy-- papers and highlighters scattered everywhere, color coordinated page flags littering all of your documents.
“Cupcake, if I didn’t know any better, I might think you were the serial killer,” Morgan comments with a smirk, setting a hot cup of coffee in a relatively-unoccupied patch of desk.
“Very funny, Derek.” you rolled your eyes. “I’m only letting you live because you brought me coffee. And because I’m too tired to kick you,” you told him.
“Do you want any help?” He offers, and you smile, but shake your head at him.
“No, thanks. I’ve got a pretty strict organizational system going on over here, if you hadn’t noticed,” you chuckle. “But you can come to the medical examiner’s office with me in an hour or so?”
“It’s a date, mama.” He confirms, rapping his knuckles against your desk before going back to his own workspace. You flip through a few more pages, leaving scribbled notes and wayward highlighter in the margins, before you notice something and call Garcia.
“Good morning, peach! What can I do you for?” Garcia asks in her usual cheery tone, clearly far ahead of you in terms of cups of coffee consumed.
“Morning,” you say to her. “Listen, something came in through the tip line last night, and it’s probably nothing, but I just have this feeling…”
“Lay it on me,” she tells you encouragingly.
“So, Mark Vexper is a long-term sub at the high school where all of the kids went. He didn’t go to work the day after both of the murders. He had a scheduled personal day the first day, and he called in sick the second. Like I said, probably just a coincidence--”
“No stone left unturned, kitten! I’m on it. Buzz you when I have more.” She says, hanging up unceremoniously.
“Good catch,” Hotch says from behind you, and you startle.
“It’s probably just a coincidence,” you brush the compliment off.
“Maybe, but we won’t know until we look into it,” he tells you. “You feeling okay?” He asks.
“I just really want to catch this guy and get home to our boy.” You tell him, and his heart warms. Looking around surreptitiously, he drops a quick kiss to the crown of your head.
“Me, too, angel. We’ll get him.” He tells you.
An unexplainable chill runs up your spine, and you have a strange feeling that Aaron’s not talking about this unsub.

Scam! Artists, beware!
So, nothing else I can do, I guess. Let me start with this: I really didn't want to write this post. To the point that I actually contemplated letting it slide. Things like this are no good for business and reputation, and it's probably going to hurt me more than the person in question, especially if it really IS a misunderstanding. People remember the fact that there was a hassle, clients don't want to work with the artist participating, etc., etc. But this position is one of the reasons things like this happen and honestly - I am just way too angry and frustrated at the moment to just swallow it up. Also normally I would have probably waited a week a two more and tried to contact them several more times, just to be completely sure, but with PayPal dispute on the line, I need to get attention to it now, so I can get some advices, even if it's probably a lost case. With that out of the way, let's proceed.
At January 7, 2019 user FakeMajesty From DA contacted me via comments under my commission info:

I asked them for their PayPal address, which they provided ([email protected]).
And here comes my biggest mistake - when I sent invoice to them, I didn't change it to "amount only" and didn't remove the shipping address. We'll get back to it later. They paid the invoice, I proceeded with the commission. When I sent them final result, this was their reaction:

Then I noticed that they deleted their DeviantArt account and thought it was kind of suspicious, but didn't think much about it.
Fast-forward to few weeks later. I received an e-mail notification from PayPal saying that I have a refund case going on for the reason of "unauthorised transaction".
(UPD Several people were confused, so I guess I should make it clear: Client issued a refund because of unauthorised transaction, not I.)
I am logging in and yes - there it is. Aside from everything, it put my PayPal balance to negative, and you know why it's not good. I couldn't send them a note on DA, since they deleted their account, so I tried to contact them via their PayPal e-mail. Here is our conversation:
Two days later refund was still there. I tried to contact them again and this is what I got:
Then I tried to contact them on their Instagram account: https://www.instagram.com/fakemajesty/ (Well, at least, I think it's theirs, because I vaguely remember the latest photo being on their now deleted DA page) At this point, I received no response. At the same time I googled their e-mail and found them in comments of several other artists, asking about commissions. I tried to contact those artists, at least two have the same issue:

(I have their permission to mention their names) One of the others said that they received no refund request, the rest didn't proceed with the commission. Also I found FakeMajesty saying in someone’s comments that they want this done in a week and ready to pay extra. Not suspicious by itself, but adds to the rest - they probably new they were going to delete everything at this point.
This is the first time it ever happened to me. They said they were happy with the result, but even if they weren't and they wanted a refund, it's something you should discuss with the seller, not just silently ask for refund and disappear from everywhere. Now, back to my problems. As I said, I was stupid. Atrociously, disgustingly stupid, and I am so angry at myself. I cannot open a dispute because it wants me to add the track number, which I, obviously, don't have. And all because I didn't change it to "amount only" and didn't remove the shipping address they wrote there. So I am supposed to sent something to a person named "meat maker". I have no idea if the address they provided is really theirs, but it's located in the same country (Canada). Also I tried to google them by their real name (the one PayPal account registered on) and found a lot of Facebook profiles, so it's not really helpful. So, now I have time until February 15th, after that PayPal will take the money and give it to this person. I wrote to tech support, but the only thing I have is that it's written in the description that the purchase is digital and they have other cases going at the same time. PayPal is known to be very buyer-friendly, so it probably really is a lost case. If you have any advices (aside from be smarter next time) or any information regarding the matter - please contact me. Also please, keep the discussion civil, I don't want to encourage any kind of bullying or threats. If it really does turn out to be I huge misunderstanding and that I jumped the gun, then I am fully ready to apologize, but at this moment it looks the way it looks. I’ve gotten quite a few asks lately asking to make a tutorial on how to roleplay on jcink, so I’m going to break it down as easily as I can! If you have any other tutorials that you would like me to do, just send me an ask! If you need me to clarify something, just let me know!
PART i: FINDING A SITE
Okay, so the first thing that you’ll probably do is find a site in order to join it. There are a lot of other great directories out there and I know that a lot of people search through resource sites. A lot of these directories have separate categories or tags which you can use to find just the site that you’re looking for. Here are a few examples:

@jcinkadverts - navigation page
wecode - advertising section
That’s about easy enough! If you’re looking to make a site and want to know if other people might be interested (ex: a real life site based in Washington, D.C, a post potter era adult era site, a fantasy site completely made up), you can usually find an “interest check” tag or section in order to ask.
PART ii: FORUM BASICS
The majority of sites have a similar layout, so I’m just going to be describing what the general layout is.
Each forum has different categories, which is the main section. Keep in mind that all skins will usually look different in colors, minor structures, and so on, but the overall design for most skins is generally quite similar.
In the image above, it’s the part that says “wecode”. Beneath each category is a forum. In the image above, they are important reads, site announcements, and moderation.
If you click on the forum (we’re going to click on announcements), you’ll see what’s in the picture above (though without all the cool colorful boxes).
PiNK - That’s a subforum.
BLUE - This is just going to tell you what forum it’s in, but technically it’s called a maintitle (though that isn’t crucial knowledge).
GREEN - This is a topic. You can usually see who posted it, the description of the topic, the last person who posted in it and when, and how many views and replies it has.
Now, most sites are set up in a similar way. Here’s a basic rundown of how the forums are structured:
[ Site Name Here ] - Important Reads (member groups, rules, lore, etc) - Announcements (activity checks, announcements) - Moderation / Codes (site codes, topic moderation)
[ Registering ] - Registry (application code, where you post your application) - Claims (canon lists, face claims, other site claims)
[ Development ] - Shippers (where shippers are sorted, usually don’t post here yourself. plot with other characters here!) - Classifieds (requests) - Development (personal character development, post moodboards, aesthetics, etc here) - Communication (quick threads that usually take the form of notes, texts, calls, etc)
[ Location (Hogwarts / Washington, D.C. / DOWNTOWN) ] - The number of location boards varies per site. HP-wise, it might be set between Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and London. If you’re in DC based site, it might be split between DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The locations listed under the location boards are usually located within the location title.
[ Out of Character ] - Usually just advertising and archives
PART III: ROLEPLAY BASICS
There are a few terms that you should know before you get started roleplaying on jcink because there are times when it might be a bit confusing for newbies, but it’s generally quite user friendly.
SHIPPER - (Dossier, Plotter, Plot Page) These are used to plot between characters on the site (though the majority of sites now also allow plotting on Discord channels). There’s often a code you can use on the site to post your shipper as most sites generally like it to be uniform or at least to be using their codes. You fill in the shipper which usually includes a platonic, antagonistic, and romantic section for a short general description. Images are also included in these! If you want to plot with someone, you first post in their shipper. They will usually reply in your shipper, so keep an eye on that!

I don’t know if it’s in your intentions but a PERSONALITY section is good too in supporting your psychological evaluation stats page since mostly , numbers don’t really make sense to humans. They’re more of the qualitative type , makes it easier for them to understand if you link those numbers to words of brief description of your muse’s behavior and attitude. This is especially crucial for OCs to have as one of my preferences so I’ll know if our muses can clash for fun or just clash without sense ... you can gauge what an interaction can be just by reading the other’s personality section and see how it helps with the plotting and relationship dynamic.
READABILITY / LEGIBILITY. ★★★★ The colour of the highlights is what I’ve said earlier but overall , the font colors are good since I can read them.
BRANDING / WOW FACTOR. ★★★★★ The mysteriousness with the PERSONALITY section gone can be a pro and con sometimes and since I read your about page , there’s suspense in how you came up with her name because it’s really thought - evoking. I associate your muse with a greek figure and it gives me something to think about especially as it can help me pinpoint a plot for us , if ever. I also appreciate the stats page like they’re very unique with some stats I’ve never seen before so it makes up for the substance as well. It shows unity and consistency. Be careful in integrating too much of the links or headers in the background because it can get to the point that it’s annoying to find or read through bleeding colours of the theme and other factors.

All the teams had started on their projects surprisingly easy and without much protests from any of the students. And then there you were, sharing a table with Sweet Pea, who seemed to be struggling to understand any of the books' contents while you were reading through the chapter and writing down notes that could come in handy later. You noticed him looking at you and then your notes, getting visibly more annoyed the more time passed and you let out a defeated sigh.
"I'll help you study, but only if you ask for it." You knew he was too proud to ask for any help, especially from a North sider. He acknowledged your offer but didn't get into it any further. By the end of class, which was also the end of the day, you had a full page of possibly helpful notes and headed over to Pop's where you'd meet up with your friends for milkshakes and burgers. You talked about your study partners and how things were going between everyone, how long this school thing was gonna last and some stuff about the project itself. It started getting late and you all decided to head home.You came home to an empty house, like most of the time since you started living here. Your parents were always on business trips and could sometimes be gone for months at once. They'd send you weekly money for food and any necessities. You checked your phone and saw it had died on your way home so you plugged it into your charger and took a quick shower. Going over today's events in your head, especially the stuff Jughead said after your encounter with Sweet Pea at your locker. It was the worst kind of luck that you had to be paired up with the one guy you already sort of picked a fight with. You admitted to yourself that remembering those Serpent laws from Jughead was a good idea, it caught him off guard and saved your ass.
At the White Wyrm the Serpent students had gathered again, and just as the kids on the other side of the tracks, they were discussing everything about school and its students, study partners and projects. Most of then spent most of their time like they usually would whenever the conversation subject had anything to do with the North side. They clearly weren't happy about their school being closed down by the mayor and her friends, but some of them had to admit that they were finally understanding some of the subjects thanks to the teachers taking time to explain the material and help each student individually as far as possible, some even exchanged phone numbers and social media info with their study partners who offered to help them study. The environment was good, just the way they got to be there was anything but that.
Sweet Pea hadn't been contributing to the conversation at all and had seated himself at the bar, a thing he only did when he wanted to be left alone. Of course this never worked whenever Toni was behind the bar, and he ended up talking to her instead until Jughead joined them. They did continue talking about today a bit after all, Jug had been a student at Riverdale High for years and a he was a Serpent, so maybe he had some useful information like which teachers paid the least attention to students not showing up for class or which ones would give the most homework or hand out the most projects. The kind of info that would make their time on the North side easier. "Hey Jones,"Sweet Pea called after him "Before you leave, you're friends with the kid I'm partnered up with, right? I saw you talking." "You mean y/n?" He stopped and turned around. "Yea, why?" He made his way back to the bar and sat down again. Sweet Pea had no idea why he even called him back, and had even less of an idea of why he did any of this. "You have her number? I forgot to ask it earlier." He looked anywhere except at his two friends. "For project stuff.” He quickly added. ”She had all these notes and I could use some help." Toni couldn't hold her laugh and Jughead grabbed his phone with a knowing smile and sent y/n's contact info. Sweet Pea's phone vibrated on the bar as it received the message. This was Jughead's cue to attempt to leave again, hoping he'd succeed this time, which he luckily did. It wasn't long after Jughead's leave that Sweet Pea grabbed his stuff and made his way back to his trailer as well, parking his motorcycle on its usual spot and making himself some food.
Dinner in hand, he sat down on the couch, looking through the notifications on his phone that he had been ignoring from most of the afternoon. Slowly going through updates posted on the White Wyrm group page, which were mostly the kids posting updates on the school issue and the older generation commenting on them all like either typical old people or posting angry statements on how wrong it all was. Some other notifications were from posts he got tagged in by Fangs, mostly funny videos or anything that Fangs thought his friend would like, and at last going through the group chats and other messages, including your contact info sent by Jughead. He looked at the message for a bit, it was ended with a winky face, showing he had an idea of what was going on. But he himself didn't even have any idea of what was going on. He only knew you were more interesting than the average student walking around Riverdale High, but you were still a North side princess. But then again, you still offered to help him study. Yes, that was what's going on. He added your info to his contact list and opened a new message, typing, deleting and retyping it several times before finally managing to get a convincing text together and sending it away. And of course he forgot to add his name. He typed another message, but before he could send it a reply already popped up, agreeing to help him study and offering to meet at your place if he was okay with staying on the North side any longer than was necessary. He deleted his message and started typing again. When you got out of the shower you turned your phone back on and notifications started popping up all over the thing. You read through the entire conversation that went on in your friends' group chat about boys that was currently filled with descriptions of new boys that wandered around the halls of Riverdale High. The other group chat didn't have much, mostly plans for the next burger & milkshake 'date' at Pop's. You swiped away some live notifications and streams that ended hours ago already and opened one from your favorite actress who was answering questions on her latest movie role. Halfway into the video, a text from Sweet Pea popped up, asking you if the study help offer was still a thing and if you knew a place where you could study in peace without having to deal with others. You quickly typed a reply and sent it away, within the minute another message popped up.
'How did you know this is Sweet Pea?' -Sweets' Got your number from Jug. wanted to ask but you left already." -y/n
After that the chat went silent and you continued going through your social media, seeing post from your friends who added their south side partners to their friend list. This got you curious to how much different a South sider's profile would be from yours and you friends'. You assumed it would have the same overall interests like movies and music, maybe sports and the usual amount of tagged posts of friends' jokes. You convinced yourself, you were gonna look for a South sider's profile, and that one certain Serpent came to mind. You looked for Jug's profile and scrolled through his friends, looking for the Serpent's name. Somehow the overall looks of his page perfectly captured the guy's aesthetic. You laughed to yourself, thinking of him spending hours on editing everything into perfection. It was somewhat like Jug's weirdly huge collection of S shirts. You always wondered where he got those, almost thinking he'd have them custom printed every once in a while. In your moment of happy gigglyness, you clicked on the 'Add Friend' button and put away your phone as the intro tune of your show was starting on TV and you didn't want to miss any second of these last two episodes of this season.
After the episode you grabbed your phone and went straight to bed, hoping you'd catch up on some much needed sleep. But you couldn't sleep, so you went back downstairs and made yourself a light snack. Or at least that was the plan, instead you ended up cooking an entire meal that could last you three days, grabbed a plate full and made your way back into the living room where you put on Netflix and skipped through the entire catalog three times before giving up and got up to get another plate of food. Sitting back down on the couch you grabbed the remote again and put on the same show you finished days before already. You still weren't tired, but told yourself to lay down in the hopes you'd eventually fall asleep. You grabbed your phone from the table and unlocked it, it was still on Sweet Pea's profile, which you wanted to swipe away but didn't. If he's gonna be your study partner for a while, it'd be a good thing to know a bit more about him, wouldn't it? Sadly enough, you found that his page was lacking quite some info and he didn't share much either, the page was mostly just very aesthetically pleasing. Putting your phone away disappointed, you finally started getting tired and couldn't be bothered to get off the couch and dug behind it for a blanket and slept on the couch tonight.
