— yeah! it's revealed in the first chap anyway sdkjfnaskdjfnkasj they broke up bc venti's drinking got rlly rlly bad, n xiao was also in a bad place, as they say in the fic "tearing himself apart trying to fix venti", n it just got to the point where xiao told venti he couldn't keep doing it n so venti said a v important line that's a spoiler n left n when xiao was at work, took his stuff from their shared apartment n xiao didn't see him again
