#i wanna start just plugging these characters into aus or write fic for other fandoms or try 2 actually write original fiction lol

What other fandoms do you think you’d write for? Or are you strictly an HP writer?
PS. Love ATWMD and THTF. Your writing is impeccable.
i’ve written a captive prince & succession fic as well so! & have also briefly written fics in some other fandoms when i was much younger which r now too embarrassing 2 name lmao
honestly not sure what other fandoms i’d write for it honestly just comes down 2 whether i’m gripped w an idea for certain characters…would love 2 escape hp fandom lol but i think part of why it’s sucked me in so bad is that i like fucking around w the holes in the canon universe…like most of the marauders fic i’ve written has been either canon compliant or canon divergent & me going “hmmm what would these characters do in this context” & now bc i’ve spent so much time thinking abt & writing them it’s just also becoming easy 2 plug these characters into aus 🤧
actually thinking abt my fic writing experience generally the thing that tends 2 make me wanna write fic is if there’s something abt canon that i wanna patch in…like my captive prince fic is just canon but from a different character’s pov & my succession fic is just “what if kenstewy were canon” lol. have thought abt writing aftg from andrew’s pov & the first book of the feverwake duology from dara’s pov simply bc that’s something i enjoyed doing w atyd & captive prince but never actually did…guess i could also see myself potentially writing spn fic if i came up w an idea i liked…& honestly i think if i ever reread trc i might go crazy for real & could then potentially decide 2 write fic who knows. but atp i feel like marauders fic has just become my comfort zone…it’s just a weird balance to strike where a story has to have characters i love but be unsatisfying (poorly written/queerbait/not actually queerbait but i’m delusional/would be fun 2 see from another character’s pov) enough that there r gaps i wanna fill. so like there r various stories/franchises/series i’ve loved where i’ve just never felt compelled at all 2 read or write fic bc i got everything i wanted out of the story etc!
#when i was texting my twin after we both finished tsc i was like ugh should i just write my own sequel rn i don’t wanna wait….#& she was like yeah and send it 2 me lol#but!! i have other projects 2 work on & i trust nora i wanna see how the series plays out….#pondering more & realizing that like. when it comes 2 pov rewrites i am always drawn 2 the same type of character#like gimme a story w a bastard love interest who has suffered horrible abuse & knows things the mc doesn’t#& i will be like wow. i want the whole story all over again from their pov….#many similarities between dara & laurent & andrew & atyd sirius….#my favorite type of guy <3#anyway i do feel like i am running out of things 2 say abt hp canon…#like after wfrau think i’ll be at a point where i’ll have 2 figure out if like#i wanna start just plugging these characters into aus or write fic for other fandoms or try 2 actually write original fiction lol#honestly dara feverwake pov haunts me i love that book sm & ik me & all of 5 people would be having the time of our lives…#ask

top 5 smosh fanfics you’ve read 👀
i can NOT give you a top five of all time. i'll die. BUT. here are five of my newer faves that i haven't had a chance to rec yet!
it’s social suicide! by miss_soupy: you write a high school au you consider me IN. just such a silly lil fic. so in character and such a fun read - extremely teenagers unsure what to do with each other. spencer Calling Courtney from the bathroom got such a good chuckle out of me. also it's the start of soupy's high school au multiverse which WILL be my roman empire im absolutely foaming at the mouth about it.
makes me wanna try her on by baflegacy: as the catalyst for this fic, i will take pride in promoting it xoxo first of all, i saw amanda in thigh highs and my eyes cartoonishly rolled out of my head so the premise is so relatable. second of all, this fic is just so fun. the chanse-angela friendship, the amangela dynamic (knowing they like each other and turning it into a game is so fucking iconic), the dialogue. baflegacy Is The amangela writer and i loved it as i always do
learn how to lose by stackofhay: THIS FIC MAKES ME ILLLLLLL in the best way. i feel sick just thinking about it. if you enjoy deep dread and awkwardness through the lens of others, you may enjoy stackofhay's learn how to lose. it is hard to read and i mean that honorifically. "There are no clean breaks. There is only the shattering of something." snel im in your fucking walls
the body's softest parts by creepysounds: i've talked about this a little bit before BUT. IT EATSSSS like the spourt fandom was starving and this saved them from the desert. i love all of creepysoudns writing in general but something about his dialogue, especially their spencer dialogue, sticks with me, and the way he writes court is just so :')
i can see you by shaynetopps: yeah i'll plug you at the end here why not. i say this not just because you're one of my best friends but because i so genuinely mean it - one of my fave fics of ALL TIME. the dialogue the description the cheesy sweet goopy romance the characterization. i ATE THIS UPPPPP. truly a fic of all time just opening it i was like "well i could stand to reread it." everything to me.
send me a top 5 anything!

an interview with @changingthefairy-tale
What are you working on right now? Right now, I’m focused on BellarkeFic-for-BLM (I just got an amazing canon prompt I’m really excited to finish). I’ve also been participating in this round of the Chopped Challenge, which has been fun and challenging. In between prompts, I’ve got two WIPs that I’m slowly cranking through. Shoutout to every single reader who’s been incredibly patient while I’ve been so slow on those updates — though, reminder that you can donate to a BLM organization (even a $3 donation works) and request an update to get those higher on my prio list while I’m focused on that initiative.
What’s something you’d like to write one day? My absolute dream job and the ultimate goal is to become a showrunner for a prime time TV show. I love TV shows — I love the way actors and directors and crew take a script and breath life into it, I love how you take a general idea for a story and mold it into something amazing as you go, I love how a series gives a story more time to be fleshed out and explored, I love the concept of a writers room and collaborating on a story. It’s a different ballgame from fic writing (which I do for fun) and travel writing (which I do for a living), but I’m determined to make it happen. JRoth, I’m coming for your job, babe. 😉
What is the fanwork you’re most proud of? I’m still really new to fic writing, especially compared to some of the powerhouse writers in this fandom. And I’m sure one of my WIPs (when finished) will probably supersede this. BUT, my one-shot about Madi calling Bellamy on The Ring (She called you for 2,199 days) is something I’m really proud of. I’m a long-winded writer, so one-shots have never come naturally to me. This one just…clicked. It’s got some good lines in there that I’m proud of, and based on the feedback I’ve gotten, it really made readers feel something and connect to the story. It’s not my longest story or my most thought-out. But it shows my growth as a writer these past few months, and I’m proud of that.
Why did you first start writing fic? I started writing fic as a creative outlet for my writing. My day job is writing about travel and credit cards. And while I enjoy that, it’s just not as creative. My dream is to write for a TV show though, and I was craving a way to flex my creative writing muscles in a low-stress way. I started watching The 100 when it first came out, but I didn’t really get into the fandom until I came back to the show during the S5/6 hiatus. That’s when I started reading fics and reblogging stuff about the show on Tumblr. During the S6/7 hiatus, I had this idea for a Greys Anatomy AU, and my sister (who is also a major fan of the show) was like, “You literally write things for a living. If you want to write a Grey’s AU for t100, there is absolutely nothing stopping you.” I published my first chapter on that The Choices We Make in Dec. 2019, and the rest is history.
What frustrates you most about fic writing? For me, I think that the most frustrating thing isn’t even about fic writing itself; it’s the fact that it’s a side-hobby and not something I can dedicate my full attention to. When you write all day for your day job, then do some for your freelance gig, and then turn around and try to write for a few hours every night for fic… that gets hard sometimes — especially since starting quarantine where I’m not traveling, going out with friends, getting a break from it, etc. Fic writing is a creative release for me, and I absolutely love crafting and writing these stories that involve some of my favorite fictional characters. And I love interacting with other writers and fic readers, I love talking about ideas and exchanging headcanons and fangirling over my favorite writers’ works. But (because there’s always a but), sometimes I just don’t have the mental energy or capacity to write at the end of the day when I’ve turned in 3 deadlines for work. I’ve got all these ideas floating in my head, but only so much time and mental energy I can dedicate to it.
What are your top five songs right now? Oh boy. So I live alone, which means I’ve got either music or Netflix on in the background 24/7 because ya girl doesn’t like silence. I have a different playlist for different moods. I’ll share my fav song from each of those playlists. Lol Fvck Somebody by The Wrecks (On my “Summer state of mind” playlist for when I wanna dance it out in my kitchen like an idiot)
Don Quixote by Drapht (On @talistheintrovert’s “My Good Bitch Murphy” playlist for when I’m feeling *edgy*)
that way by Tate McRae (On my “Pandemic Jams” playlist bc I like angsty music and this song is a Bellarke MOOD)
Washington on Your Side from Hamilton (On my “Feeding my Broadway Obsession” playlist for when I wanna sing show tunes and plot overthrowing the government)
Tea by Noah Davis (Shameless plug for Noah bc it’s a bop and I literally dated Noah’s older brother in junior high — so proud of this kid for making his dreams a reality)
What are your inspirations (books, songs, other fic, really good cake)? All of the above, except I like pie more than cake. lol But really, I kind of use everything around me for inspiration. “The Choices We Make” is inspired by my love of Grey’s Anatomy. “Intertwining your soul (with somebody else)” is inspired my the first draft of my YA novel (though the setting was adapted to a grounder canonverse AU). “The Day He Shut That Rocket Door” and “She called you for 2,199 days” were inspired by @historyofbellarke‘s headcanons that were brought up in S7 speccing conversations (shoutout to her for enabling my angsty ass). My most recent WIP “There are some things written in the stars” that I started as part of Chopped (but will continue because I’m obsessed with the idea) is inspired by my love of Timeless. And I have an entire Notion database filled with fic ideas — some one-shots and some multi-chapter fics — that are inspired by quotes, songs, conversations with friends, books I love, shows I adore, random HCs that pop into my head while I watch, my own life experiences, etc. I take inspiration in any form it decides to come in. 💕
What first attracted you to Bellarke? What attracts you now? I’m a ho for enemies to lovers — the idea that you can put your worst foot forward and show someone all the ugly parts of you… and that they’ll see that and somehow look past it to see the good stuff too, falling in love with your whole self instead of just the pretty parts. Yeah, it’s my favorite romance trope. And that tension is what originally drew me to Bellarke. Now, it’s a combination of things. I love each of these characters in their own right. I relate to Clarke in a lot of ways, and I aspire to be her level of badass. I straight adore Bellamy Blake (flaws, stupid decisions, and all) and would marry him in a heartbeat if he were real — I’m not even kidding. lol But I also love their dynamic. They are partners, best friends, perfect compliments to the other. They see each other in a way no one else does, and they are the one person the other constantly risks everything for. They are both so driven by their responsibilities to their people, yet that all typically goes out the window the moment the other is at risk. I don’t believe in soulmates in real life, but it’s nice to get to believe in this fictional world that they are just made for each other.
BESIDES Bellarke, what character or pairing do you like best on t100? My favorite character besides Bellarke is John Murphy. His arc has been BY FAR the best on this show, going from that little shit in S1 to this “asshole we love” in the middle to now a true hero in this final season. And through it all Richard Harmon has been amazing to watch on screen.
My favorite pairing besides Bellarke is Linctavia. Yes, that ship is problematic in a lot of ways, but I still loved their dynamic. Lincoln helped Octavia navigate this new world that she was so desperate to be apart of while being mindful of her safety. And I thought they were a good match — he helped tame her fire without putting it out, and she helped challenge the way he was raised. Given time, I think they could have become one of the most stable and loving relationships on t100. Of course, that couldn’t happen because Jason needed Bell’s actions in 3A to have heartbreaking consequences, O to spiral for her own character journey, and whatever mess happened off-screen between Ricky and him. But they still remain my favorite ship aside from Bellarke.
Why did you decide to start writing for bellarkefic-for-blm? The second I saw that Sam was planning on doing this, I reached out to ask how I could help/write/be involved. The BLM movement is so important, and this is an amazing way for me to contribute while pursuing my passions. It’s a way for the fandom to get involved and do something good. And ultimately, this helps organizations that need donations. Shameless plug for everyone to please go check out the Bellarke Fic for BLM page — check out the many amazing writers and artists we have participating, and send in prompts. Most of us are allowing WIP chapter update requests, and there are a number of us (myself included) who are matching donations made! No donation is too small, and you’ll be supporting a movement that is a necessity in the U.S. and beyond.
What’s your writing process like? My mind is literal chaos, so I plan and outline like hell in order to make sense of everything. When I get an idea for a fic, it goes on my Notion database. Within Notion, I write down my inspiration for the idea, and a pretty in-depth summary of where I want the fic to go — dialogue ideas, any feelings/emotions I want to invoke, literally just a brain dump of all my ideas. From there, I’ll arrange that brain dumb into an outline. If it’s a one-shot, I’ll generally write the whole thing in the Notion doc. But multi-chapter fics will get a checklist within Notion for me to keep track of progress, and I’ll actually write the fic in Google Docs. I generally start writing from the beginning of a story, but if I get stuck or have an idea for a later scene, the fact that I’ve outlined heavily allows me to jump around as ideas come to me. I’ll read each one-shot or chapter after I’m done to make sure it flows before publishing. I post chapters for my WIPs as I write them, which I should really stop doing. lol For my readers’ sakes, I should work ahead and publish on a schedule rather than making them wait for my slow ass to finish chapter to chapter. But right now, that’s my process!
What are some things you’d like to recommend? Oh goodness, too many fics to possibly name. Instead, I’ll link to my AO3 rec bookmarks (which isn’t all-inclusive of the amazing fics I’ve read in this fandom, but it’s got some good favs in there) and shout out all of our awesome Bellarke Fic for BLM writers. Y’all should check out their work (and send in prompts)!
Where’s the best place to find you (twitter? tumblr?) I’m @changingthefairy-tale on Tumblr and @changingthefairy_tale on AO3! My ask box is always open for anyone who wants to scream about the show, ask about specs, talk about my fics, etc. Come say hey!

FOR THE FANFIC ASK MEME THING (I finally picked beyond 'just... all of them?'): F, I, K, M, N, Q, S, T, V, W, X, and Y. WHICH ISN'T ALL OF THEM it's just... several...
(from here)
F. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
I’m working on a Final Fantasy XV AU, because that’s basically all I write for FFXV; I really love the building blocks it gave me, but I don’t like a lot of the architecture. Anyway, conceptually it’s a fairly standard ‘what if Ardyn wasn’t a villain?’ thing, and on the off chance it ever sees the light of day, it will be called There Is a Crack in Everything.
This is a really early scene.
Regis stepped into his study, and Ardyn scarcely gave him time to close the door before wondering, with a languid sort of ease, “For how long have I been Adagium?” He sounded as if the word tasted foul.
“Longer than I can be certain of,” Regis sighed, taking his seat at his desk, across from Ardyn.
“And I’ll be able to relax for...how long?” Ardyn wondered pleasantly, leaning an elbow on the desk and propping his chin in his hand. “Before those lovely toy soldiers of yours try to haul me back to my stone box, that is.”
For a moment, Regis was quiet. For a moment, Regis thought of his father. Mors would have reacted the instant he realized who Ardyn was, and Regis wondered how many of the Glaive would have died and what sort of enemy they would have created.
He thought of his son, just a few weeks old. Already, Regis knew he did not want to teach Noctis to be that sort of king.
He did not want to be his father.
“You may stay here, should you wish it,” Regis answered at last.
Ardyn blinked, slowly. His expression didn’t change, but his words seemed carefully picked for carelessness. “And no one will wonder at another of the bloodline suddenly appearing?” he asked. “Or am I forbidden from showing off?”
“We’ll say you’re my half-brother,” Regis answered before he was even fully aware he’d come up with a solution. “It won’t surprise many.”
Ardyn’s eyes narrowed. “You’re awfully eager to dub me family.”
“You already are family,” Regis reasoned. “It seems it’s time someone finally treated you as such.”
That, at last, seemed to unmoor Ardyn. His posture went rigid for a moment as his gaze went distant. Twice, he opened his mouth to respond, before closing it without saying a word.
It took him only a moment to gather his composure, though, before he cleared his throat. “I have to say, this is the most elaborate method anyone has ever used to call me a bastard. I suppose that alone means it’s worth putting up with it.”
Regis laughed before he could help it.
I like it for a handful of reasons. For one thing, I’ve successfully weaponized it (and a few other snippets of the same WIP) to make my friend Ala emotional. For another, I didn’t really see this dynamic between Regis and Ardyn coming. It just sort of happened while I was typing, but I liked it when it showed up. It felt natural for an Ardyn who hadn’t been driven mad by turning countless people into daemons, but who was nevertheless not the same gentle healer after 2,000 years of isolation.
I. Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?
I got paid for years, plural, to write really bad porn about people who could turn into animals fucking. I have no shame left. I’ve had no shame since the first time someone offered to pay me $500 for smut.
K. What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?
It is, again, related to FFXV. I wrote If the Ring Fits and Backed in Silver years ago, and ever since, I’ve tossed around the idea of writing another sequel for Ignis.
The only issue is that my idea for it would forcibly make him realize that the Prompto that had been in their world was not actually their Prompto, and had not been for over a decade. And it would be a conflict he’d have to grapple with through the entire fic, trying to decide whether to force that same replacement on someone in a different world or to just endlessly keep hopping from one world to another because he can’t return to his.
I’ve never actually written any of it, and the concepting never got beyond Ignis’s revelation about Prompto. But considering If the Ring Fits was 10,000 words long and Backed in Silver was 20,000, I can only imagine what sort of behemoth it would be.
M. Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?
Like, WIPs, or things that I’ve pondered but haven’t started working on?
I’ve got a few WIPs. There’s the aforementioned non-villainous Ardyn AU. I’ve got another FFXV fic that’s been on hiatus on AO3 for legitimately over three years, and the next chapter is very nearly finished and I just...can’t seem to get there. I’ve got a Persona 5 new game+ fic in the works. That one’s fully plotted out already, and just the outline is like 15 pages long. Based on how the first chapter is going, each chapter will probably be anywhere from 10-20,000 words long. And I’ve got a melancholy immediately-post-season-two Mandalorian one shot in the works, spawned almost entirely so I could make Mando say ‘fuck.’ I know no one says fuck in Star Wars, but I don’t care. I will not say kriff and no one can make me. And I’ve got the Dragon Age uber fic that I’ve just sort of been plugging away at since Inquisition was released and none of it has ever seen the light of day, unless you count me shoving a few snippets at Siobhan.
Oh, and I’m rewriting an older Mass Effect fic.
For things that I’ve thought about but haven’t really worked on, they’re mostly more Dragon Age and FFXV. The “canon” stories for the two timelines not covered in the uber fic, and more AU nonsense spawned from ItRF and BiS.
N. Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?
Like, finish one of MY fics? No. I would bite them if they tried. Hell, I love you and I would bite you if you tried.
Just, in general? At this point I would take a monkey paw-style deal to get someone to finish Home.
(for anyone who isn’t Jim, Home is a nuTrek Jim/Spock fic that I think I was in high school when it was published. I graduated from college over five years ago.)
Q. How do you feel about collaborations?
Mixed feelings. I’ll take feedback, assuming I’ve offered the mic for it. I’ll prattle on about whatever I’ve got cooking. I’ll ask for ideas or suggestions. But when it comes to the actual writing of it, I’m a control freak. So, people are welcome to help me gather up the building blocks, but I’m gonna wind up doing the actual building myself.
S. Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Overly elaborate AUs.
T. Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?
That thing fandom does where if they’ve decided a character has anxiety, then it does not matter how that anxiety presents itself in canon, in fanon they are a weepy, shy introvert who can hardly string a sentence together because they’ve polymorphed into a shivering puppy.
V. If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?
Does it count if I just say I wanna rewrite a series as a whole? There’s a FrostIron series I read ages ago before the MCU made me wanna gag, and at the time I LOVED it. And then not that long ago I went back and read it again, and it felt like I was saying goodbye to it because oh my god it was unbearable.
Loki was NEVER FUCKING WRONG ABOUT ANYTHING, unless he wasn’t in the room, in which case Tony picked the slack about not ever being wrong about anything.
W. Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
More specific. Not this past Christmas, but the one before that, I was doing some Advent Drabbles for one of my roleplay blogs, so I was open to drabble suggestions anyone wanted to see. Like 70% of them were just one or two words and I’m just staring at my ask box like ‘thanks, I hate it’
(Kudos, though, to the random stranger who gave me a very specific, paragraph-long prompt for a Spider-Man (PS4) fic.)
X. A character you enjoy making suffer.
...All of them?
Y. A character you want to protect.
I guess Din Djarin.
I mean, he still falls into the above ‘all of them’ but when I make him suffer it’s more related to exploring something that happened in canon, rather than me directly causing it.

Fic Writer Interview
I piped up when @kiseiakhun did theirs so now I gotta pay for my hubris (but also, it's fun! Thanks for going out of your way to re-tag me!)
Name(s): stvlti (tumblr), stultiloquent (ao3)
Fandoms:
Actively writing for: DCU - comics and also related media, by which I mean of course Young Justice the cartoon and somehow also the Titans TV show. I never expected I'd write for a live action TV show series but hey, 2003 Teen Titans were my roots and Titans is a close relative. (Funnily enough I haven't actually seriously written for TT, but it's all about NTT and its derivative works)
Older fandoms on my AO3: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Noragami, Death Note
Where you post: AO3 is where I literally archive all my fics that see the light of day, drabbles and crackfics alike, but sometimes they get posted on Tumblr first (especially if it's to fill a prompt) and then make their way over to AO3 for reposting
Most popular one shot (by kudos):
Overall: "the hands that worship you", which is a pwp because I guess y'all love the porn on AO3!
This year: "if you can't summon your own tentacles, store-bought is fine", which is also a pwp because you horny mofos will always pick porn over anything else welp (thanks for leaving kudos though 🤣 and tbf, this one does have the unfair advantage of being literally the second oldest piece posted this year so it's had more time to amass more kudos than my gen / PG rated fics. proportionately though it's definitely not the one I've gotten the highest kudos to hits ratio on)
Most popular multi-chap (by kudos):
Discounting "if you can't summon your own tentacles" (which is more a two-parter that was written as a one-shot), I don't have an answer for either "Overall" or "This year" for this one because I have in fact only ever written one (1) multichap fic since moving to AO3 (we don't talk about the dark days on Deviantart) and said multichap fic isn't even close to within the top 10 most kudos'd fic on my account. That plus it's an RPF from my teenaged years that I really don't wanna plug on main because I don't want y'all to read that shit (it's RPF, come on)
Favourite story you’ve written so far:
I can't answer for "Overall" (cause I feel like I'd be forgetting and therefore neglecting a portion of the stories I've got in my portfolio over the last 8 years), but for "This year" it is in fact my latest entry, "Transference"! I was quite proud of the comfort zones I tested with that one, I pushed myself to write more than 2 character povs for a single piece (my record had always been 2 but in that fic I was juggling 3 - almost 4 character perspectives), plus it gave me an excuse to play around with narrative structure which is always a Thing I'm nerdy about
Fic you were nervous to post:
Cool cool cool so I'm just gonna expose myself with this one, but it was actually the priest kink fic, "When I'm down on my knees you're how I pray". I wanted to contextualise Dick Grayson's guilt issues in a Catholic context as like a what-if, but I've also never been Catholic, wasn't raised Catholic, and it was somehow important to me that I didn't misrepresent the customs and rituals of Catholicism? Even though just writing the fic itself was already fundamentally disrespectful? Idk my brain works on weird logic.
btw if any of you wanna cancel me for this just block me and move on.
How do you choose your titles?:
The title is either based on the central theme / moral of the story, which will come to me as I write and is usually the case for fics I take more seriously, OR, if it's a ficlet I didn't put as much effort into and/or don't intend to show off, I'll usually pull from lyrics for a one liner that hits the emotional notes I'm going for in the story.
Do you outline?:
Almost always. The only fics I haven't outlined are spur of the moment things, stuff that's very focused on a single instance or thought without much plot or coordination needed.
Complete: 26 25 in total
not counting the ones I deleted or orphaned this year (again this number does not include my Deviantart stash shhhh those didn't happen)
In-progress: uh....3 4?
I'm kinda in between the research and planning stage for 3 different fics atm so idk if it's really in-progress in-progress... Those 3 fics aren't even set in stone, I might abandon them again like I did with one of these 3 (the dark academia au) 5 months ago (that I recently picked back up on the research front)
Yeah I forgot my Sladick fic is a 2-parter that I should probably work on and finish at some point 😬
Coming soon/not yet started: I think it's somewhere between 8 and 11
I just added 2 more to the list after Romin Week prompts dropped /sigh. But I really wanna test my comfort zone again and try writing the wilder stories for a change (it'll be fun though if I get around to it! Hopefully something BOP movieverse shaped if I'm lucky)
Prompts:
Sure, send them my way! I accept prompts, just can't guarantee I'll be able to respond speedily though cause I can't chain my muse to me and also real life happens, a lot
Upcoming work you’re most excited about:
Ooof idk if excited is the right word, try trepidation...I'm scared to mischaracterise our faves...but a BOP movieverse fic is probably going to be real fun! Just hope I can finish the research and writing in time for the event though
No-pressure tags:
See this is the real point of me asking to be tagged and filling this tag, cause I wanna pass it on to my writing mutuals in other fandoms. So @trans-l-lawliet @fantomn @mellonearyou @3dnygma , if you're listening,,,,
Also any other writerly friends or followers reading this and curious to try, please go ahead! Have fun with this!

where you post: ao3 and ffn y’all, although not so much on ffn anymore. (username for both is magnetichearts, ignore my shameless plug)
most popular oneshot: right now it’s with a sickened heart and sickened bones, a sickened way of wanting home | jonsa oneshot set pre-canon, with jon and sansa aged up
most popular multi-chapter story: well, considering i only have one multi-chapter story, it’s gotta be this, but i think it does pretty well for itself: i’m counting your heartbeats, they’re all i have left | a season 6, 7 & 8 rewrite of the show, because of course
favorite story you wrote: ahhhh honestly i don’t have one?? i tend to like all my fics for about two weeks after they’ve been posted and then hate them eternally after lol. but currently, it’s
it’s late and i think it’s about time for you and me to get closer | season 3 rewrite of atla that focuses on zuko and katara learning how to become friends
story you were nervous to post: very very nervous to post it’s late and i think it’s about time for you and me to get closer | i was absolutely terrified as it was my first time stepping into the fandom and i desperately wanted to make sure the characters weren’t ooc.
also
everything i wanna say about you is more than enough to write a novel | a relationship study that follows tony & peter through significant moments in their relationship, it was my first time playing around with a non-linear narrative style, and my first time posting marvel fic, even though i had written it before, so nerve-wracking, it say the least
how you choose your titles: song lyrics. i make sure to cite all the songs i use in the summary of the fic, but i choose long lyrics, so i tend to have longer titles
do you outline: only for very long, multi-chap fics that need to be outlined
complete: on ao3 it’s 16!
in progress: 3 (i think)
zutara spy au
irondad big bang holiday submission
jonsa firefighters au
there’s a million ideas sitting in my drive right now, however, waiting to be written. these are just the ones that have words on paper
coming soon/not yet started: a reddie pining fic where one of them confesses their feelings at the other’s wedding, and the braime sequel to my jonsa rewrite of seasons 6, 7, & 8
do you accept prompts: yup! i’d love to get some!
upcoming story you are most excited to write: ooooh i’m really excited to work on this snowed in au for atla, and possibly another reddie fic that’s slowly making it’s way to the surface
tagging: @daredeviil, @marthaskane, @fictionart24, and @elsasclack! only if you want to, of course!

@saltwaffle tagged me
Author Name: Wiz-Witch on here, WizWitch on Ao3, and wizwitch42 on ffn (notice a pattern?)
Fandoms You Write For: this is a long laundry list... off the top of my head: Milo Murphy’s Law, Phineas and Ferb, DuckTales, Mob Psycho 100, Miraculous Ladybug, Sofia the First...
Where You Post: Ao3 is currently my “post as finished” thing while FFN tends to be delayed a bit
Most Popular One-Shot: I wanna say “Coming Out”, which is the first in a series of Milo Murphy’s Law one-shots that feature plots involving Milo being genderfluid, along with other LGBT headcanons such as Zack being gay with internalized homophobia, Melissa being bi and polyamorous with two dads, and Nate being a trans girl who has yet to realize it/come out
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: probably either Changing Our Reality, which was written in response to my boyfriend challenging me to outangst some second dimension headcanons in the MML tag, which I did by writing a fic with said headcanons and some inspiration from things like 1984 and Sonic Underground; or my MP100 fic Goodbye, Everybody (My Life Has Just Begun), which is a bit of a role swap between Mob and Teru where Teru became Reigen’s student after his first run-in with Claw and Mob is on his own after hurting Ritsu
Favourite Story You Wrote: Silent Screaming is honestly one of my favorite projects. It’s mostly about PTSD recovery like Changing Our Reality, but in the canon universe and with the canon characters, so it almost hits a bit closer.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: Goodbye, Everybody (My Life Has Just Begun) was something I was more than a little nerve-wracked to write. I put early drafts in a server for people to beta (I rarely have people beta, and when I do, it’s usually just a close friend or two) and even then I was hesitant to post. After all, not only was it my first MP100 fic, but it was my first anime fic and... I was just nervous to go into something so far out of my comfort zone, especially for a fic with such drastic changes to canon. So far people have been enjoying, it, though, and I even joined an MP100 AU server where when I was talking about this, several people were like “Oh, there’s a fic on Ao3 I really like witha concept like that”
How Do You Choose Your Titles: I will either plug a word that has to do with the story into thesaurus.com, randomly get hit with a phrase that works, or pester all my friends for an idea. It’s nice and annoying since I like to have a title on my files before I start, and most of my friends tend to have the title be one of the last things they do before posting
Complete: ...sorry. I’m bad at this.
In-Progress: In addition to the above fics, I also have Balanced Scales (AU where Milo and Melissa never became friends), But Who Would Believe You? (and AU where no one outside of the Murphy family knows about Murphy’s Law), Jewels of the Sea (mermaids and pirates AU initially created by my friend), Tight-Lipped Lies (MML AU based on Easy A), Path of Change (AU made with another friend involves ghosts and stuff), Silent Pain (Professor Layton fic where Descole had kidnapped Luke instead of Brenda in the 4th game)
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: Oh that’s a long list... It includes but is not limited to an MML AU based off Anastasia, some fics that take place in one of my friend’s AUs, several fics based on another friend’s AUs, a DuckTales series with Huey being GizmoDuck’s sidekick, a series for Ninja Turtles that involves some OCs of mine, a Wild Kratts series with other OCs, and I’m bringing back a fic I did in sixth grade
Do You Accept Prompts: Eh. I tend to gather ideas by people posting things and then I appear in their messages
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: Hm... honestly most of them ^^’

Was trying to actually work on something but my brain is stuck on loop. So instead I’m gonna make a post of the Voltron stuff sitting unposted in my writing WIP folder to help me organize my thoughts.
I guess since I’m posting this, if you have anything you wanna say/ask about any of these feel free. I respond well to outside interest.
1. Project ReVolt is without a doubt the project I’ve posted about the most here. And talked about in random tags. And tangents. Originally it was just the name the project had in my internal brain filing cabinet but it’s kind of spread and stuck to where my wife and I just refer to it as that when we talk about it.
ReVolt is basically going to be a VLD series rewrite more along the lines of how my wife and I would have done it or at least liked to see it done. In some places it will probably stick pretty damn close to the events of the series canon, but in others go completely off the deep end. We’re each going to be doing one, so a lot of the headcanon and worldbuilding and such that we’ve worked out together in various other stories and RPs will be consistent between the two stories, but it will also give us a place to veer out and do things without the others’ input (as we’re not gonna let each other see our fics until they post, tee hee). I’ve done a SHITPOT of rules and infrastructure work using actual alchemy tracts to try and make sense of the series’ largely Powers As The Plot Demands system, and am pretty convinced I’m going to A)fall hard into my very common Esoterica Ranting Mode pitfall and B)enrage literally everyone who reads it with my character and plot choices. Most conservative estimate says this will be six ‘books’ long as again, we’re doing literally the entire series. Current status: at the ‘ridiculously large amount of notes and setting up actual arcs and outlines’ stage, and waiting for the wife to finish ‘Happier HOPEless’.
2. There Are No Monsters Here is a fic I really want to do but cannot seem to get off the ground, set to take place entirely in the ‘last universe’ from season 8--the one native-Honerva died in and crazed-death-god-Honerva picked out as her ideal and tried to wedge herself into. I guess the basic idea was that, like the ‘main’ universe, it got rebuilt pretty much as it was prior to Nightmare Mom Ruining Everything, and I have it with no one fully remembering the events of season 8 that took place there, but characters really closely tied to those events having some itching feeling that something happened, and all the Altean alchemists agreeing that some kind of massive quantum Event certainly occurred even if they don’t know what.
Mostly the story exists as a place for me to have a canon-compliant AU that still lets me explore stuff like Altean history, the racial and cultural tensions of the Coalition, dink around with Oldadins that DON’T die in one fell swoop, a living Daibazaal and Altea, Lotor growing up with a decent-but-not-without-strains relationship with his dad, teen Allura and tiny Lotor being absolute shits to each other while also coming to terms as they grow up with who and what they MUST be both on a political and quantum scale, and generally prove that even a perfect universe isn’t, all in one place. The title is entirely facetious, and anyone who’s read any of my alien culture headcanons for this series knows that. Lol. Current status: lots of bits and pieces, but no good beginning or connective tissue. I have a lot of notes, some arc outlines, and a few scattered scenes and bits of dialogue from later in the story, but my god, I CANNOT get it off the ground.
3. Someone Must Get Hurt (But It Won’t Be Me) is supposed to be a pretty wholly Honerva-centric fic that starts...sometime in her youth?...and carries forward to an as-yet-undetermined point. Probably her death. I mean the first one. I’m not sure. Another chance to dig my fingers into Altean culture and Alchemy, this time leading up to All The Bad Shit That Happened, with the added bonus of being done from a focal point of a character I have a lot of really strong feelings about both positive and negative that’s resulted in me somehow being EVEN MORE wrapped up in her than I was before I added abject knee-jerk trauma hatred to the mix. In no way meant to make Honerva more sympathetic, I think I just want to write her even more like my mother so I’ll feel EVEN BETTER about killing her? Idk man my feelings about her are so complicated. Also an excuse to write a shitpot of her and Zarkon because listen, I’m really glad they’re married because I ship them so fuckin hard. Current Status: SO many notes. SO much infrastructure. Like three pages of an opening I’m almost definitely throwing away because I can’t decide where, when, or how to open but feel like this isn’t it. One short but very telling scene of Honey and Zarkon from late in the story. I’m obsessed with it but I can’t get anywhere.
4. Currently Untitled Demon Hunter AU started because my wife talks to me about Happier HOPEless a LOT and I just got an itch in my bones to work on one myself. In spite of the entire Demon Hunter AU thing getting started by a prompt on a Shance blog, neither Shiro nor Lance are set to appear for at least a chapter? And I am not confident in my ability to not veer off into utter non-shipping anyway because man, am I bad at it. Or like...just an entirely different ship for either or both of them. Current Status: A lot of vague notes, a POWERFUL urge to structure the chapters and overall arc after Ripley’s Gates even though that limits my chapter count and means I will DEFINITELY have 20k+ word chapters, and about seven pages of the first chapter so I guess I’m committed now?
5. Currently Untitled Post Series Fic basically exists for me to vent my frustrations about two main things: The Universe is Fucking Huge And There Are Dangers Other Than Galra, and The Galra Empire Was Huge and Is Not Going To All Fall In Line Behind Voltron Coalition and Especially Behind Keith Who Just Arbitrarily Fucking Decided To Tell Them They Couldn't Pick A New Leader According To Their Own Traditions And Need To Do What They’re Told Now What The Fuck. Also there was a lot of stuff in the series that got left hanging, and while ReVolt is an IN-series fix-it fic, I wanted something that patched up loose ends in a way that was satisfactory to me but also kind of canon-compliant. Current Status: A lot of notes and screaming. No one has seen my progress on this and they might never.
6. Dog Runs And Death Dreams is a warmup file turned deeply self-indulgent series of scenes in which I choose to assume that Shiro’s rare neuromuscular disorder was left so ambiguous so I could plug the symptoms of mine into it. It’s genuinely not any deeper than that. The whole thing is set pre-Kerberos, and includes copious Shiro x Adam content because of it, but also not the kind that makes me feel good about writing because that means it includes the ‘slow fizzle’ that leads up to their breakup before the mission. Ugh. Working on it does make me feel better when I've been having symptoms, though, and I’ve been letting myself write it, unchastised, in a really loose rambly way that I usually deride myself for. It’s just cathartic. Current Status: no notes, no plan, just strain-writing between seizures, but somehow it feels like it has some kind of structure and just keeps growing? Possibly too close to the bone for me to ever post.
7. Birth and Rebirth was born out of two things: the fact that Zarkon is shown to have two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT reactions to first being presented with his baby son in different flashbacks and different seasons, and the fact that in spite of the flashbacks we get at the end of the series, earlier on, the impression I got of Lotor and Zarkon’s relationship wasn’t of a young man who had never had affection from his father, but who had instead lost it. Well, three things: I have a lot of underlying issues at work, at play, and at large when it comes to the Galra Imperial Family. Also, anyone notice the monitor blips in the first baby Lotor flashbacks indicate a heart murmur? Anyway, it was supposed to be a thoroughly self-indulgent and thoroughly self-hurtful examination of Lotor’s early life and the death by degrees of what was left of his father in the husk Rift Adventures left behind, but I got stuck on it a little way in. Current Progress: ten pages, a lot of notes, and some wistfulness. I keep hoping I’ll get inspired to pick it back up again. Contemplating rewriting some of the beginning, maybe it’ll help?
Bonus entry that is not actually in any form of progress soever:
50/50 Voltron Trashfire Edition is spawned from the ‘50/50′ challenge on an old TF board I used to haunt. It’s a fifty-prompt smut challenge using the list of ‘50 reasons to have sex’ from some tv show, and the idea is to write a different ship for every prompt (hence the name). My wife is blazing through it and has several (like twelve?) up on her AO3, but I’ll be utterly blunt: I haven’t written fifty porn fics in my LIFE. Over ALL my fandoms. Current Status: Literally all I have done is assign a ship to each prompt, and I might actually have some prompts with just question marks beside them still. I have one aborted start to one entry. That’s it. It’s not happening. But the empty file is technically in the folder, SO.

hey i wrote a lot of red vs blue fic once
so like three years ago i wrote a lot of red vs blue fic, and since i’m back in the game, i wanted to share it with you, as well as my thoughts. i’ve said pretty consistently over the past couple years in different writer asks and thought pieces that my RvB fic is some of my favorite i’ve written – probably because it’s one of my favorite fandoms to be in. so here’s a good chunk of my stuff, all typed out in a nice, neat post for you with my feelings.
level 20 dickbag – this is a modern au where church and grif talk?? but with background grimmons and church/text. church is a dungeon master, grif plays d&d because he loves simmons a lot. this was written before i understood anything about d&d at all so i play fast and loose with the rules and keep it vague.
do you wanna talk about it?, lift with your legs, shotgun, & minivan are all canon-compliant character studies about different team members. lift with your legs is short, but it’s one of my most popular stories for some reason. but yeah i love these.
radio edit is a series of fics featuring grif/tucker, which is a ship i love. it’s a modern au with background caboose/sheila (human sheila, i swear it works, i did a good fucking job), simmons/kaikaina, and church/text. it’s honestly one fucking story from being a completed series. i should seriously finish it.
sentiment is a one-off canon-divergent AU featuring wash/maine where wash and maine are fitted with the eta and iota AI’s. i like it. i did good here, too.
breathe in, and i’m back here again take place in the same modern au ‘verse where the reds, blues, and freelancers are returning vets from the wars in iraq and afghanistan. it deals with PTSD, depression, and anxiety, so it’s not exactly great for escapism, but i am really really proud of both stories, particularly breathe in. features caboose/sheila, church/tex, and wash/maine.
from this galaxy to the next just became a series, but i started writing a mass effect fusion AU in 2016 for fic-a-day-in-may, which i’ll never fucking doing again. features grif, sarge, and wash as turians, simmons as a salarian, tex maybe as an asari? church and most others are humans with the exception of caboose is who SUCH A GOOD QUARIAN.
do you wanna be my sidekick just some good grif/tucker/simmons post-war threesome stuff.
boom, clap is my grif/simmons music industry AU. donut is basically justin timberlake but better. i wrote it after going to a justin timberlake concert a while back.
and, finally: it ain’t me. this is my vietnam war AU. it features some major character death, and it made me cry when i wrote it, but i really love it.
okay that’s me plugging my fic, i hope u like it as much as i do.

Stealing from @galpalaven
1. How many works in progress do you have?
Umm.... Too many, honestly. And adding more on the pile.
My only currently published one is The AllSpark Changed My Life, currently on hiatus cause muse went running, but I hope to get it going again and some other ones finished soon.
2. Do you/would you write fan fiction?
*Looks up* Umm, what did I just shamelessly plug? But yes, I do.
3. Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?
Paper, though I can stand ebooks occasionally, and I can’t do audiobooks at all (unless it’s my Mom’s HP fanfic in the car as she’s driving me places). I have this thing where, if I know a book has a physical copy, I can’t stand reading it as an ebok, which is weird cause I read fanfic all the time.
4. When did you start writing?
The first story I ever wrote was in third grade about me meeting three alien girls and going on a hot air balloon ride with them, but I didn’t pick it up as a hobby until I was 12. My first published story was a Harry Potter Had A Twin Sister fic with a very Mary Sue twin, which has since been deleted off fanfic.net, though I probably have the doc for it floating somewhere.
5. Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?
My sister, who is actually my co-writer for a much of stuff (the character Asami in AllSpark is hers, for example) and she helps me go over for grammar and stuff. I’ll also share with my mom occasionally, but she’s not into the fandoms I am.
6. Where is your favorite place to write?
I usually am curled up on my bed, but my favorite place is probably on the couch with my sister nearby, either helping me or working on her own stuff or just chilling.
7. Favorite book as a child?
As a actual child, Boxcar Children. As a pre/early-teen it was Tamora Pierce’s Tortall universe books, specifically the Protector of the Small quartet.
8. Writing for fun or publication?
For fun for now, but I do have a couple ideas I hope to publish one day.
9. Have you taken any writing classes?
No, though I’d like to. Sadly, I have no money for that right now.
10. What inspired you to write?
Initally, I want to say it was reading Naruto and Harry Potter fanfic, and it just kinda hit me “Hey, I can do that too!” I specifically remember an Akatsuki-and-OC-centric High School AU and a Harry Potter Has A Twin Sister fic were the main inspirations behind my first attempts at fanfic writing.
I TAG: @samwpmarleau, @catsafarithewriter, @tcrmommabear and Any Followers who wanna do this.
