okay you know what. how about this. lets post our Anti-Despair Plans. what actual actionable things, big or small, voting/organizing/charity/getting yourself together/whatever related are you gonna do.

My list only has 3 things so far cause I only want to put specific exact things on here (no "look into local groups...." on my list until i have the names of the local groups)

reup my Volunteer Deputy Registrar certification, which'll mean I can register people to vote. I had several coworkers when I was reminding them about voting say "oh I forgot to register" or "oh I can register day of, right?" (not in texas). In real life, I encountered FAR more people who didnt vote just cause they didnt know about deadlines/forgot to register/didnt know they HAD to register than I did anyone abstaining out of protest. So, thats my project, reup my VDR and register people. Get annoying about it, eavesdrop, someone saying they need to register? pull out my folder and do it.

instead of randomly donating when I feel like it, actually make a charity budget and set aside a lil from every paycheck. I'm awful about budgeting just in general, and have a "well if im not donating like $50 it doesnt matter" complex so. get better about remembering even $1 helps, and actually budget for it.

craft more. this ones just for me, but take that roll of leather and actually use it. I have patterns, I have plans, Get To It.

anyway. what specific, non-vague small actions are you planning on?

I'm in Bomb Rush Cyberfunk!!

I've been holding this back for a long time--INCREDIBLY EXCITED to say my song "I Wanna Kno" was chosen for the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk soundtrack. Grateful to director Dion Koster for seeing something in the track and letting me help color the game world of New Amsterdam. I still can't believe I'm part of one of the coolest games ever in a music lineup like this. Out now on PC/Nintendo Switch, coming to consoles soon after!

I did something silly….. I made QL guess who!

About a year and a half ago I had the idea for a custom ql guess who game but I had no one to play it with so I just put it to the side until I (hopefully) would. Fortunately that day came this weekend when @pondphuwin and I got to play a few rounds (they beat me 4:5 actually lmao)!

Some of the questions we asked were stuff like “is it from gmmtv,” “does your show have a branded pair,” “is there a love triangle,” “is there a debate over whether your show is a bl or not,” and more personal ones like “am I crazy over one of the main actors,” “do we have beef with the way this bl went,” “did we watch this live together,” and so on. Rlly fun stuff!

Since this is a custom guess who I had to make all the pieces manually. At first it seems fine and easy bc there’s already official posters right? But the difficulty is that almost every poster is a different size. So I figured out how to get the proper guess who face piece measurements and manually resized each poster to fit, with a slight gradient in the background where the remaining space isn’t covered by the poster. You can see those gradient bars on the top and bottom in the closeup of the last twilight piece, for example. Also it’s just really funny to hold mini posters of qls lmao (using my hand as a reference)

There’s 190 ql poster pieces in total (based on approx. how many I’d seen as of the time of printing) (yes I will add more as time goes on) and they were all put on one big google doc that covered about 10 pages and looked like this!

After I had them all set I printed them out on cardstock so they were thicker & more sturdy and then I did a lot of cutting. And since both players need the same posters I had to cut it all twice

Are there easier ways to do this? Maybe. I’m not sure. Honestly I just did whatever like this is my own gay little art project lol

Once I had them all cut and held them in my hand I felt quite proud of my work and now that I’ve actually played it I really do

Here’s just like a pic I took when we were playing a round. Since there were so many, after every round we took out the two qls we just selected and replaced them with new ones and we never ran out lmao. It took quite a bit of effort but it was totally worth it hehe

The first day of the new school year began much the same as any other; being accosted by the hallway monitor for dawdling, having inappropriate footwear and daring to possess yet another pair of headphones, only for them to remember who he was and abandon any hopes of receiving an explanation, or an excuse.

Robin thought he would’ve outgrown his selective mutism by now, but apparently, it didn’t work like that. He’d eventually seen a therapist a few years prior, but the poor man didn’t exactly have a handbook for “strange child who can’t speak sometimes due to other people’s overwhelming head voices but won’t/can’t explain himself to anyone other than a ghost who’s stuck in his attic” so, it’d fallen a little flat. At least, that’s what he kept telling himself; but the older he got, the more he started to think he’d been using his gift as a convenient excuse for some of his issues. Maybe. Possibly.

Much less bombarded than when he was little, Robin could usually tune out the everyday chatter within surrounding minds, though he rarely did. He’d become far too accustomed to being nosy, and at this point it was weirder NOT to hear everyone else’s thoughts. It produced an intense itchy feeling that was almost impossible to ignore, as though he’d miss something important the moment he stopped listening.

As a result, Robin struggled to live in the moment, and for himself; constantly juggling other people’s thoughts and emotions as well as his own. Sometimes he wondered if he’d understand his brain better if it belonged to someone else, like if he could observe it from a distance as with everyone else, it’d make more sense-.. or maybe paying more attention in Mr Fitzherbert’s biology classes would help. He supposed he was still overwhelmed after all, just better at hiding it.

Either way, he wasn’t about to admit to all this nonsense out loud, especially not if it landed him in Doctor Abbott’s office again. The last thing he wanted was for anyone to find out how weird he actually was, least of all a psychologist. Think of all the experiments they’d want to do, all the prodding and poking-.. or worse. Robin shuddered at the thought. No, thank you!
