Love these additions so I'm gonna add to this post from here. I do want to address @strigiiformes tags, because I think they bring up an important point (state provisions):

First of all, it sounds like you were a child entertainer of some kind, so I kinda hesitate to open my mouth here (also, my sympathies if you'd like them), but just to clarify: the last sentence in the 1st paragraph is pulled word for word from the website for the US Department of Labor. My response up there was focused specifically on federal labor laws because I assumed the question I was answering was referring to the FLSA. I apologize for not making that clearer.

Secondly, you're right, there are some protections available to child entertainers...but these vary by state, as you noted. And I want to point out that many states still have no specific protections for child entertainers, who are thus only protected by general labor laws in those states. On top of this, here is a link to child entertainer provisions by state, as tracked by the US DoL; as you can see, many of the states that do protect child actors limit their provisions to theater performances and similar. Not all, of course, but a non-zero number. So like, you're definitely not wrong about this! Some states do protect child entertainers! But those protections also vary by state.

And most importantly? From where I'm sitting and what I'm reading, the children of social media influencers are currently exempt even from the protections available to child entertainers. That is the problem discussed in the first article, and that's why I'm back again to clarify this point! The children of influencers ARE NOT child actors/entertainers in the eyes of the law (yet), and as such ARE NOT covered by any provisions that currently exist. Provisions & protections for child actors straight-up do not apply here because the children of influencers are not yet considered to BE child actors in any state of the USA of which I am aware.

The provisions and laws that exist right now do not apply to these children-- NONE OF THEM do-- because like @elfwreck pointed out, parents are allowed to film their kids doing family stuff. And they are allowed to post those videos online. And that second one fucking sucks, and we need to talk about it without getting sidetracked by which states do or do not have provisions that don't even apply here.

since the ST5 hype has started now i just want to say if byler isn't endgame then mike wheeler will go from one of the best to one of the worst written characters on this show. it'd also just make him a terrible friend and boyfriend with absolutely no explanation.

him being closeted doesn't excuse the shitty ways he's treated el and will but it does explain it. it makes him very complex. if the m!levens were to have it their way he's literally just a shitty person for no reason.

i don't understand how anyone could be rooting for him and el given how he's been acting. they haven't been cute since season 2.

I just thought of him being created with the sole purpose of knowledge and duty ( being affiliated with the stars and astrology ), being a high-ranked angel but not enough to be one of the archangels. Having the titles, it's as if he's similar or close to Lucifer's role (before the fall) or maybe an extension. He does everything to fulfill his purpose. However, the downside is that he always gets compared with Lucifer (pre-fall).

So what he does is look up to him, idolizing someone he has never met, he's practically devoted at some point, nearing a follower. But oh so bitter and sour because all he gets is to be COMPARED.

Cherry on top that he wants to impress Michael, but Michael can barely look at him because all he sees is Lucifer.

All of his hard work feels like it's going to waste because he'll always be a shadow of someone he never knew. And that created grudges, created hate, created his rage. Thus, it's the reason for his Fall. Bro's identity revolves around a dead person (Angel Luci). That's why he's a narcissistic asshole with fucking identity and anger issues.

What's worse is meeting Lucifer himself, the person he looked up to all his life, doesn't know him.

It's not Lucifer's fault though.

I'm so annoyed. @kingcrow01 tumblr ate your ask about Danny's opinion on the League. tumblr i pressed 'save draft' why didn't you sAVE DRAFT.

ANyways I'm making a post instead. For everyone else, the ask was in summary:

What was Danny's opinion on the League now that he's left it? If he missed the familiarity of it, if he recognized the cult-like behavior inside it, and if he now detested his grandfather.

And to answer (again, grrr): It's complicated! We love complicated <3. Yeah, Danny does miss the familiarity of the League, it was still his home for the first ten years of his life and he has a lot of memories there. Plenty of good along with the bad, and while he's less homesick than he was when he was 10, it still hits him like a truck at random intervals.

Sam, Tucker, and Jazz are great, and he likes the Drs. Fentons enough that he's contemplated murdering Vlad for his meddling, but if he wants to eat the same food his mother used to make him and Damian, he has to do it himself and he can't get the taste right. No one knows arabic so he speaks it to himself because he doesn't want to forget his mother tongue, and he has a few books too. Frankly? He genuinely misses training.

Getting to use Sam's gym helps with his restlessness, same with training with Maddie, but he has no one on or above his level to go against other than his mother. And he only sees her twice a year at most. He knows that he's getting stagnant and he fucking despises it like a bad itch he can't scratch.

He feels conflicted about missing the League, however, since by now he recognizes the flaws and what was wrong with it, and he recognizes that it was cult-like. But even that is kinda, hrm, complicated? If this was a fic I would be able to go better into depth about what he has and hasn't unlearned because cult deprogramming is hard and Danny's doing most of this on his own.

Sam, Tucker, and Jazz have helped with the more obvious stuff: like the ecofascism, the disregard for human life, his emotional constipation; the more obvious stuff that shows in his behavior and personality. But none of them are professionals nor do they actually know the full extent of what Danny's life in the League was like. They only have snapshots since Danyal is very tight lipped about it. So they can only help with what they see themselves through Danny's behavior or word of mouth.

But in summary: He sees, for the most part, what's wrong with the League and disagrees with some of the stuff they do now. But he's very conflicted, and trying to dissect his feelings on the League confuses him. His protests about it whenever Sam and Tucker joke about it have at this point become mostly empty (altho it still causes him some discomfort), and its an inside joke between them three.

As for Ra's? Despises him. If only because Ra's wanted him to kill his little brother -- thinking about his motives with the League confuses Danny, cognitive dissonance and stuff, -- a lot of his hatred stems from "He wanted me to fight my baby brother to the death. I destroyed my relationship with Damian because of him, I had to fake my death and leave my home, and I will never meet my father or see my brother again because of him. Fuck that guy."
