Okay…
Posting SFW art of a character with a NSFW outfit elsewhere isnt grooming
Posting a link to a character with unfiltered suggestive content is very irresponsible but is not grooming
Im begging for you guys to stop throwing that word around like its nothing, it will backfire on us severely and hurts actual grooming victims
post related
lets use our reading comprehension skills, i actively said that im not gonna call xil a groomer over this, just that its incredibly irresponsible
"i try not to attribute things to very severe allegations when it comes to stuff like this, especially when there's no other evidence to suggest a pattern of behavior. instead i would rather attribute xil's behavior to irresponsibility, and possibly even to being desensitized to the subject matter themself as a minor."
what i did say is that it creates a danger environment that CAN ENABLE GROOMERS
"youre right that its dangerous to have someone on the mod team who says that things involving fetish content isnt "inherently" sexual, ive said it a lot but you should NOT play with these types of things around minors, its an insane slippery slope and signals to ACTUAL predators and groomers that if they say the right words, their actions wont be questioned. allowing/encouraging minors to interact with species and characters with these NSFW themes can desensitize them to the severity of the topics and can put them in danger if a groomer comes in their dms like "hey look at this oc i made with a gimp mask and a gag! no its not sexual teehee its just for aesthetic purposes, can u draw them for me?""
even anon did not say xil is a groomer, they said it can be SEEN as groomer BEHAVIOR, and is problematic and unsafe for minors, which i would agree with. trying to make a gray area out of fetish content by pointing at a character with a gimp mask and saying "well latex isnt inherently sexual" IS dangerous for minors! im not saying this makes xil a groomer, obviously they arent (unless this is a continued pattern of behavior that they show with minors but we have no evidence that says this), but groomers will use talking points like "X fetish thing isnt inherentlyyyy sexual so its ok for me to show it to minors"
"Coercing a minor to draw a BDSM/fetish character, explosing/encouraging minors to seek out obviously BDSM communities and content while saying it's "fine" can be seen as grooming behaviour. It does not matter if xil is 18, it is still problematic behaviours that are unsafe for minors."
and again i will repeat, the issue isnt "oh heres sfw art of a character that just so happens to have nsfw art too" its the fact that smile demons as a species is heavily linked to NSFW themes and latex kink. the species is incredibly unsafe for minors and there is proof they do little to nothing to protect minors from owning and interacting with characters featuring fetish and NSFW themes. by posting and talking about smile demons, you indirectly promote this species to a server of mostly minors in the same way that seeking them in ads would (which is against the terra server rules). please look through the whole post here and the imgur gallery linked within to see the extent to how this species should not be a place for minors to play around in.
and this is all without mentioning the fact that xil directly linked to the character's toyhouse that features suggestive art and several images of the character wearing a gimp mask, with none of these images being maturity locked, and a minor directly replying to them within the same screenshot
i agree, this isnt grooming because grooming is a pattern of behavior that requires specifically targeting minors. but this is extremely irresponsible and it is concerning that a moderator is so flippant about kink-related characters in a minor-ridden server.
in my opinion, there is no such thing as "too strict" when it comes to protecting minors from seeing nsfw and fetish content, especially in current year where it is incredibly easy for predators to access children via "all ages" servers.

theres a new video going round about BTS being problematic and some of the stuff is actually really shocking :((( idk what to think. have u seen it??? if u search 'bts being problematic for 4 minutes 20 seconds' on yt its there. im actually so disappointed in them.
dude i’m afraid i have no idea what you’re referring to but there’s been quite some shit circulating lately that accuses bts of various things uhh so .. yeah, i’m not sure? i’d say look at everything wearing your thickest sceptic glasses and think critically bc there is some absurd n straight up dumb crap
but also .. the boys are human, they make mistakes, they have done some problematic shit in the past. they’re still learning, still improving, still growing. joon apologised for what he said/did and has been repeatedly proving us that he’s read up on different issues, that he’s educating himself, that he’s trying to become better, that the mistakes he’s made over the years don’t define the person he is now
i see him dragged into all sorts of discussions when it comes to problematic behaviour of other idols, almost as if saying joon did smt similar might lessen the problematic actions .. but the funny thing is - namjoon is one of the only people who apologised for his actions, who has on several occasions admitted he was wrong, and whose behaviour clearly shows he’s learned

Mickey and Ian - communication, sex, and relationship styles, post 11x07
Here’s my take on how Ian and Mickey relate to sexuality and relationship styles, thinking mainly about 11x07, but also looking more broadly at the series and including HoS. If you’re not interested in incorporating 11x07 in your version of canon, ignore this! I enjoyed 11x07 but I understand people have different ways of seeing Ian and Mickey’s relationship. I’m also doing the classic meta thing of taking seriously exaggerated/comic/contradictory elements in the show because that’s how I roll.
Super long post under cut.
I’ve been reading Sexuality: A Graphic Guide by Meg-John Barker and Jules Scheele which is where a lot of the following ideas and terminology come from. I’ve also been looking at Meg-John Barker’s free relationship zine on their website rewritingtherules.com. I highly recommend their work, including the podcast they have with Justin Hancock, The Meg-John and Justin podcast (although MJ has left now and it’s called Culture, Sex, Relationships, but you can check out the backlog!)
They think about sex and relationship styles using various models including monogamy/polyamory, allosexuality/asexuality, romance/aromance etc. They look at these different facets of sexuality/relationship styles as complicated continua rather than binaries which shift over time. They also write about sexuality on an action/identity spectrum, communication strategies around relationships styles, and the windows into relationships. Here, I’m looking at all of these things thinking about Ian and Mickey’s relationship and as individuals within the relationship.
The monogamy/polyamory continuum
I’ve seen a bit of debate about how to label Mickey and Ian’s relationship on the monogamy/polyamory spectrum and I think it’s a pretty complex question especially considering those labels mean different things to different people and that relationships shift a lot over time. While labels like these can be useful, they can also be rigid and restrictive in their own ways.
Some terms that come close-ish to what they say they’ve decided in 11x07 are monoamorous and polysexual, considering they aren’t at all interested in romantic connections outside of each other but are up for sex (in a broad sense) with other people. But these terms don’t account for the agreement that they’re only exploring sex with other people when they’re together.
As people have pointed out, some of the boundary setting around exactly how they’re involving other people in the relationship is left off-screen, and also they’re not necessarily going to form identities around how they act in one episode. I’ve also seen people suggest reading their relationship style as monagamish and/or that what they do with other people is part of kink/play. I think these make sense in different ways and that in 11x07 Ian and Mickey definitely focus more on what they do (action) rather than who they are (identity) in regards to monogamy/polyamory.
In 11x01, Ian’s focus is more on identity. He sets up a binary choice between being monagamous or not in their relationship. 11x07 indicates they’ve moved through off-screen discussion into a much more personalised arrangement with more focus on actions allowing for flexibility over time. In 11x07, we see them agree on rules: sex in a broad sense is allowed outside of the primary partnership, love isn’t. They keep negotiations ongoing (e.g. in the bedroom, in the furniture store), and there is an indication that these rules could change over time.
I’d love to read/explore more about the ways in which this approach has changed over the course of the whole show. At the start of their relationship, definitely prior to s4, they have much more implicit rules about who they can have sex with, and those implicit rules become problematic in s5, when they realise they’re not completely on the same page regarding them. They bring up clashing ideas around the rules when Mickey’s leaving prison in s10 too. In s11, their relationship becomes more intentional, with these rules stated aloud rather than assumed.
The action/identity continuum in regards to gay sexuality
On a slight tangent, I think there’s a comparison to be made here to how they relate to sexuality (specifically gender of attraction) and the idea of gay identity, which seems to develop in the other direction. For Mickey especially, for a long time having sex with men was something he did rather than something he was, and that’s gradually somewhat shifted over the course of the show. There’s so much more that can be explored here, for instance, about how the action-based approach is much more acceptable within the hyper-masculine environment he was raised. Terry also approaches it this way when talking about prison sex, for example. According to this very oppressive social script, having sex with men in certain circumstances can be OK but claiming that as part of who you are is absolutely not.
But I also want to stress, I don’t think either approach to gay sexuality, looking at it through actions or through identity, is inherently better or worse. These different lenses on sexuality also intersect with class and levels of education. As explored in Sexuality: A Graphic Guide, the identity approach is also relatively a very modern way of seeing sexuality (late 20th century). Gender of attraction is also only one facet of sexuality (which includes amount of sex you want, type of sex, sexual roles etc.) but its now often regarded as the only or most important facet of sexuality. The identity-based approach is much more acceptable within the more aspirational/middle class settings they interact with in s10 and s11. In these seasons, Mickey and to a lesser extent Ian aren’t completely willing to accept it wholesale. I like how, for example, even well after “coming out”, Mickey often still approaches sexuality through actions rather than identity, e.g. his response to the woman at the flower shop asking if he’s a homosexual: “He is, I just like having another man’s dick up my ass.”
However, I also think it’s cool/interesting how Ian and Mickey both move towards and embrace various parts of mainstream gay identity in s11 too, and a large part of that involves combatting the sexism, femmephobia, and hypermasculinity with which they were raised, e.g. of course, singing and dancing to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande in the bathroom.
You could also look at the different ideas about the origins of their gay sexuality in HoS through this lens. Mickey goes for a psychological/behavioural approach (based in like early 20th century sexological theories); Ian goes for a born-this-way, biological/genetic approach (popularised in the 1980s as part of gay pride movements).
Mickey’s approach is very old school (definitely a way of thinking that reflects his upbringing), which assumes straight is the norm from which gay deviates, to do with Freudian theory/the idea of homosexuality as pathology. He doesn’t, for example, seek to use the same model (Fiona’s bad relationship history) to explain why Lip is straight. Ian’s approach (”not because I was born this way?”) reflects his investment in the intractability of sexuality related to his strict opposition to conversion therapy models and the idea of being gay as a choice. It also reflects the way he reacts negatively/disbelievingly to Debbie’s more flexible sexuality (in s8?). While obviously it’s fucked up/impossible to force people to change their sexuality and it’s perfectly reasonable for him to define the origins of his own sexuality however he wants, this approach risks excluding more fluid experiences of sexuality.
Again, Mickey’s approach is more behavioural/action oriented and Ian’s is more identity oriented. They both seem pretty willing to shift their ideas around this though (especially Mickey, who potentially is just regurgitating old stuff he’s heard without thinking). The concluding thought is that Ian is gay because he likes Mickey’s d, lol.
Individual differences on sex and relationship continua
I really like the detail that Ian doesn't want to have sex and be friends with anyone else aside from Mickey. In 11x07, he doesn't want to make friends with the guys in the locker room although he's down for repeat sexual experiences which suggests he thinks he forms romantic attachment through a combination of both sex and friendship. It seems like it's important to him in his negotiation with Mickey that they don't form romantic attachments outside of their own relationship.
This relates back to the 87% thing in HoS where Ian says he tends to get at least slightly attached to everyone he has sex with and Mickey has 87% of his heart. Mickey doesn’t like the 87% thing at all but I reckon it outlines a really interesting difference between the two characters in regards to relationship styles. It indicates that Ian is comfortable with a slightly less mononormative way of doing nurturance/care than Mickey, while Mickey seems to initiate more of the polysexuality than Ian in 11x07. (Although of course, we don’t see how Ian would react if Mickey were to tell him he’s got 87% of his heart! -- but this is a very difficult to imagine scenario).
Sex is a big part of their relationship for both of them. Both Ian and Mickey seem pretty allosexual (e.g. they feel sexual attraction for other people generally), but Mickey is possibly even more so than Ian. Mickey also maybe falls on the aromantic/grayromantic spectrum (once again, the labels can be really useful but I don’t want to be too prescriptive/rigid). Ian seems to be more alloromantic, with a capacity to experience romantic attraction to a whole bunch of people. For him, sex and romance seem to be more interconnected in all cases although he can definitely separate the two (especially when thinking about transactional sex etc).
But I think it's more complex than that. For instance, Mickey reserves certain sexual acts for just between him and Ian and its clear that they have both intimacy and exploration in their sex life. From the outset, Ian and Mickey’s relationship involves exploration and excitement with sex, and provides a freedom to explore their sexualities in regards to sexual roles and kink. It’s clear that Mickey values the safe space Ian specifically gives him in this regard from very early on in their relationship. There’s a parallel here with the bathroom Gaga/Grande scene where Ian’s instinct isn’t to tease or make fun of Mickey but support him embracing more stereotypical gay behaviours and/or more fluid gender roles to the ones he’s grown up with outside of sex too.
Also it might be useful to complicate the idea of romance itself which is a really difficult idea to pin down and which seems to mean different things for both of them. I love the stress on friendship in 11x07. Friendship and also family connection play such key parts in their relationship with one another and the way in which they are attached, arguably even more so than traditional models romance. Both HoS and the Hopper painting discussion are interesting to think about in regards to the ways Ian and Mickey think about the concept of romance differently and the ways it intersects with or differs from their ideas around friendship/family. I like how Mickey’s willing to see getting a coffee together as romantic in a positive way for instance after Ian explains that it’s about togetherness in hard times. While maybe Mickey sees Ian’s suggestion of having a bath together as awkward/weird because he views it more as trying to live up to a social script of what is “romantic”.
Communication strategies around relationship styles
In s11, Ian and Mickey’s relationship is very entwined, and, in comparison to Tami and Lip, for instance, they disclose a lot to each other. Ian asks that they tell each other everything, and although Mickey is more resistant to that initially, he becomes much more forthcoming with his feelings in s11 (around Terry, around moving to the West Side, around becoming a parent).
While I appreciate Ian’s role in initiating more communication between the two of them, I felt sorry for Mickey in their initial discussion in 11x01 in re “monogamous or not”. The turning over the paper method is a pretty binary way to open up a discussion about a very charged and complicated thing.
They do seem to complement each other in this regard though with Ian generally more keen to initiate conversation but also getting more trapped into binaries, narratives of normativity and should-stories. While Mickey totally still projects an image that is informed by local expectations around masculinity and white supremacy, he’s also a rule-breaker in many ways and doesn’t have the same desire to conform to what society perceives to be “normal” (thanks HoS), especially behind closed doors and within his relationship with Ian (“liking what I like don’t make me a bitch”).  @fiona-fififi had a really good point in the tags a while back about how Mickey’s investment in their wedding and its success might have spurred Ian on further to embrace more normative ways of doing relationships. This is super interesting, and also makes me think just about how being married itself prompts Ian to think about taking a more active role in pushing the relationship further up the relationship escalator and in pushing for more communication around these steps in general.
There’s also something to be said about pressurising each other in 11x07, especially when they jokingly(?) threaten each other with sex with other men if both of them aren’t around. I doubt they were making these suggestions seriously but it definitely doesn’t strike me as the most consensual method of communication. But there’s parallels here with generally using sex as a bargaining chip earlier on in the season. Ian seems to do that after having exhausted his attempts at trying to have conversations around money/monogamy etc, as a tried and tested way of getting Mickey to engage with him. And it definitely reflects using sex with each other and sex/relationships with other people (e.g. s3 Angie/Ned, s10 Byron/Cole) as modes of communication in earlier seasons. It kind of makes sense that they still have these habits in s11 even if they are no longer the primary mode of communication.
Ian and Mickey relied so much on implicit communication in the early seasons and they have highly developed nonverbal ways of communicating. I don’t want to say that either verbal or nonverbal ways of communicating are inherently better than the other. They seem to understand each other on a deep level, which is really cool, but people have pointed out can make them think they don’t need to verbally communicate when they do, because they assume that they’ll understand one another and be on the same page. It’s super interesting to see them maintain that deep connection and continue to use nonverbal cues while also adopting more explicit and intentional communication styles in s10 and s11.
The windows of their relationship
The fandom is always bringing up how Ian and Mickey leave the doors open when they bang, lol, and also making fun of how much Ian overshares. I think this is v fair but it also strikes me as pretty healthy that he wants people to see into his and Mickey’s relationship, especially in his discussions with Lip. But Ian’s got plenty of people around him who can see and help when things get tough.
In s11, it’s great to see Mickey get closer to the Gallagher family and see various members defending him or taking his side in arguments, but he definitely does have less of an on-screen support system than Ian. (I wish that they had developed his and Sandy’s relationship in s11). I think the aftermath of the City Hall incident in s10 really reveals this particular imbalance in their relationship. On one level, Mickey moves in with Byron as a reaction to being hurt and even maybe a strategy of revenge/manipulation, on another, he doesn’t really have anywhere to go aside from the Gallagher house when/if he needs to get away from Ian. Also, the way he retreats back to the Gallagher house when he can’t deal with the Westside is an interesting development of this in s11.
Ian’s need to share stuff about their relationship is kind of exciting considering his history of being unforthcoming about his relationships (and his history of being in a lot of secret relationships), as well as how difficult he found it to talk about Mickey while Mickey was away. But there is a different problem with ongoing talk around privacy and boundaries here too (Mickey doesn’t want Ian to chat about how he’s not into rimming!). Although to be fair, Mickey also chats about a lot of explicit sex stuff with strangers.
Although they do ultimately decide against pursuing the pretty inorganic way of making friends in 11x07, Ian’s desire to make gay friends who he can talk to about relationship stuff makes sense in terms of the way he has been pushing for a more intentional relationship with more communication and more explicit discussion and compromise this season (and last season too). It also intersects with an idea of him/both of them going further to embrace gay sexuality as an identity.
It’s interesting that Mickey’s the one to initiate this decision through ribbing Ian about his relationship with Lip. Why’s Mickey doing that? Is it just to be a little shit or is he also trying (subconsciously?) to activate Ian in some direction? (And also, maybe there’s a parallel there to getting their apartment in the west side, where Mickey’s the one inadvertently introducing Ian to the idea by pushing for them to go play in the pool).
-----------
There’s a lot here which is just scratching the surface of thinking about Ian and Mickey’s relationship in the context of these different sexuality and relationship continua. For e.g. it would be really interesting to think more about this stuff in terms of shifting sex roles and kink exploration. Of course it’s all up for interpretation and I am sure I am highlighting areas that I’m personally interested in and inadvertently projecting myself/my own preferences and styles into this discussion. Very down for disagreements and discussions if other people are interested and manage to read all of this, lol.

All Might’s Age: An Approximation
All Might’s age has always intrigued me, as someone who is wondering when Top Heroes who do not die on the job should realistically plan to retire. We know heroes can continue to work for as long as they want thanks to Gran Torino and the Number 9 hero, Yoroi Musha.
All Might’s age is also important to understand how long the heroes have been relying on his presence scaring the would-be villains of crime and letting brew some problematic behaviours in the way the hero society is constructed. In other words, it seems like Japan has been in a status quo for years thanks to All Might, but for how long?
I will look at other characters’ age and what they can tell us about All Might’s age, and give an approximate range based on this. Note that this is pure speculation based on someone who likes to math.
Endeavor
We know that Endeavor (Enji Todoroki) is 45 at the beginning of the manga. He says that All Might was already Number 1 when Endeavor reached Number 2 at 20 years old, placing All Might at least the same age as Endeavor. On the other hand, Endeavor never recalls All Might as a peer in UA, their common alma mater. Therefore, they probably were not in the same year. It is also important to note that Endeavor claimed All Might’s fame and aura was already important when Endeavor was 20. Based on Endeavor’s age, All Might was probably at least 3 years older than him, to give him enough time to establish his aura of The Symbol of Peace, The Hero, The Number 1.
Hawks
Tumblr media
Hawks was the first hero to reach the top ten before the age of 20, which was the age at which Endeavor himself reached the top 2. All Might was older than 20 when he entered the top 10, which also supports the few years he might have on Endeavor.
Gran Torino
We learned through the movies, OVAs and Endeavor’s shouts of anger about this damn American that All Might spent some time training under in North America after the death of Nana Shimura, when he was 18 years old. Before that, he spent some time training with Gran Torino.
From Endeavor’s statements, the records established by Hawks and the time he spent training before coming back to Japan, All Might would be, at the youngest, 48 at the beginning of the manga. That would be three years older than Endeavor, leaving him enough time to go to see Nana Shimura die, train a little, go to the US and grow, and then come back to Japan approximately at 21 years old.
Sir Nighteye
In his character sheet, Sir Nighteye is said to be 38 years old. He was a fan of All Might and wanted to work with him. If he was a student fresh out of high school who managed to work with All Might right off the bat (an assumption I doubt, it seems like an adult when they started to work together), he could have started to work with All Might at 18 years old. That would mean All Might’s career had span over more than 20 years at the start of the manga. Endeavor has been a hero for more than 20 years (he was the Number 2 for 25 years) so this is not directly adding anything to the equation.
Kotaro and Tenko Shimura
This is where we enter spoiler territory for anime-only fans. In his character sheet, Tenko (Tomura Shigaraki) is said to be 20 years old. His father, Kotaro, was 32 when he died, according to his character sheet.
A few things can be concluded from this: at most, 52 years have passed between Nana’s death (All Might’s age being 18 at the time). This is because Nana had to be alive to have a son and this son to be alive to have a son of his own, who is now 20. At most, All Might is 70 and has been a hero for close to 50 years. However, both Kotaro and Tenko did not loose their parent at birth.
Tumblr media
First, this picture informs us that Nana’s son (Kotaro) was likely older than 5-6 years old when she gave him up for adoption, as kids on average loose their first teeth at this age. Let’s say he was 6 years old on that photo. If we pretend this is the last picture of her and her son together and if we say that she died shortly after giving him up for adoption, he was 6 when All Might was 18, making their age gap around 12 years old. All Might would have been 44 when he was 32 and died.
Tumblr media
From Shigaraki’s memories, he was at least a few years old when he killed his father (Kotaro). Shigaraki was thought to be quirkless when he was very young, perhaps because it took him a long time to manifest his quirk. Most children manifest their quirk by age 4. It is reasonable to think parents would start to worry about their child being quirkless after they passed the 4 years old threshold. As such, let’s say Shigaraki/Tenko is 4 (at least) in this incident. This is right before he killed his father, who was 32 when he died.
This means, the age gap between Kotaro and his son is 28 years old, and this son and All Might is 40 years old. Now this son being Shigaraki, age 20, it would mean All Might is 60 years old at the beginning of the manga.
Alternatively, the photo of Nana and her son might be dated and several years might have passed between it and her talking about him to All Might. It is also possible that Shigaraki was older than 4 when he finally manifested his quirk. Still, All Might should not be younger than 48 years old at the beginning of the manga. Say Kotaro spent some years with his foster family before Nana died (say 2-4 years). That would bring him at 8-10 years old when she died, and reduce his age gap with All Might to 10-8 years. If Shigaraki also showed his quirk later than 4 years old, for instance 6 years old, that means Kotaro died 14 years before the manga, at 32. If he was still alive, he would be 46, making All Might 54-56.
One more exercise for funsies: since Tenko/Shigaraki was not the eldest child, his age gap with his own father is at least 19 years old (if he had his children as an adult and the age gap between Hana and Tenko was 1 year). Let’s set it at 20, to let him have enough time to marry and have Hana before Tenko was born. Tenko would have been 12 when his dad died. There is no way Hana is a puberty aged kid (from the memories) when she died. She must be younger than 10, at most I would say 9, Tenko, 8. Let’s say Kotaro was born before Nana met All Might (why did I not think of that earlier instead of going with the teeth theory) and because All Might’s situation seemed similar to Midoriya, they probably met when he was in middle school around 14 years old. If he was put up for adoption before Nana met All Might (4 years before her death), then he was at least 10 when she died (if we use the teeth evidence). Also Nana taking a pupil right after loosing her husband and son makes sense. Kotaro was 24 when his son was born, and 8 years younger than All Might. Making All Might 32 when Tenko/Shigaraki was born, and 52 at the beginning of the series.
Nana’s son’s age is pure speculation, however. The only thing we know is a strict minimum: he was not a toddler when she last saw him. What if instead of being younger than All Might, he was his age or older? Well then All Might’s age gap with Tenko/Shigaraki would be too small and he would end up barely older than Endeavor, which does not make much sense. Kotaro, if he was still alive, would be around 24-28 years older than his son, so 44-48 years old. This is right in All Might’s strict minimum age from Endeavor’s story.
In conclusion: All Might is probably in his mid to late-50s at the beginning of the manga, when Midoriya and co enter UA.

ONF UNIVERSITY AU
A/n : ok this is just the first (?) elaboration of the au. This is also meshed with senpai au. I actually already had a few moodboards (Yuto and Minseok ones) and a senpai AU of Seungjoon that opened up the idea, its just i did not have the time and luxury to expand the au. Another reason was that timing i am still learning about ONF so I don't want to go too OOC on things I am not familiar with.
Tumblr media
To keep it short, the boys actually formed a dance club and they named themselves ONF
I do said dance club but if you wanna utilise it like F4 from meteor garden, it totally flexible
Also totally doable if you wanna use the university au as the main worldbuilding for other AU, examples, Sibling AU, or any BF headcanons I have mentioned like the MTL for PDA. MTL to confess and MTL to leave hickies, so do check out masterlist (that is constantly updating )
Also, even though it might retcon some setting I have already done, but it is totally doable for University AU to be the prequel for Office AU.
OH HEADS UP, FOR THIS AU I AM ALTERING THEIR AGE. Their real life age difference are about 4-5 years which is unrealistic to fit for the au, so shrink age difference to 1-2 years.
One of the project they did as a dance club, which they uploaded
youtube
Let see the members headcanons below
Hyojin : Probably musical student but if we were to jump out from stereotype,I do feel him studying marketing (analysts side)
OK if this boy does not finish his assignments in the cafeteria, then he is not Kim Hyojin lol. Constantly munching something while he trying to finish assignment or solve a problematic question
Even if Seungjoon drags him to library to do assignments . HYOJIN DEFO GONNA MAKE EXCUSE TO BUY BEVERAGE FOR THE 2 OF THEM AND SNEAKS OUT FOR A SHORT WHILE.
The type that try his best on getting good results on every class. But he never brags about it.
Should we give him a senpai au plot, I would write him as the senpai you have a crush on since high school and you did not know he attend the same university as you.
Changyoon : Design student for sure😉 Interior design, graphic design or even fashion design. Oh! Film Director also not bad? (I mean he has loads of ideas and thoughts also let's not forget about Incomplete MV)
Ppl which are not in their circles would be like, "how did you even get along with the others?" Because his majors are very different compared to the other 6
Hmm I do feel it is more like Changyoon did not make the first move to join the group. Probably the Capricorns/ENFPS (Seungjoon or Jaeyoung)
So maybe he kinda drop by to a short marketing class so that he can gain insight on how advertisements film can grasp audience heart. There he either met Hyojin or Seungjoon (maybe both) ,then only the bond gets deeper
After knowing each other he finally comfortable to be himself and does not feel awkward anymore...
Also including this hc here because I only thought of it when writing. HYOJIN,CHANGYOON, SEUNGJOON AND MINKYUN teaming up to sing something? Like them 4 have a YouTube channel that upload their covers, without showing their faces, using illustrations drawn by Changyoon
Seungjoon : Could go for science genre or maybe business administration? Also anything related with mathematics(that need flexible solving) might suit him too
Might occasionally appear in the library. Not really searching for books to read, more on giving himself the environment to complete assignments. But visits bookstore too
Maybe, the most social-able being in the group. Constantly waving or say hi to acquaintance/classmates passing by. Even though that, there are never rumours or scandals of Seungjoon being playboy. (But totally the first one in the group to get a GF, hint established in his senpai au)
Like people only notices the group because of him because of his social skills. Its kind of like the fairy who brings/enlarge the fandom lol
You can read his Senpai au here
Might doing part time job at a cafe nearby university because of distance+ time convenience purposes. The other members of the group might occasionally hang out at the place, waiting for him to finish his shift or Yuto to finish his lessons and then they go eat dinner
Jaeyoung : High chance of choosing communication related genre or/also social science/sociology related genre. I won't be surprised if he will choose psychology or behavioural science
Easily to find him in library searching for books to read/expand his pov. Sitting beside windows
One of the hyungs that will explains Korean to Yuto. Especially idioms.
First impression would be the quiet good looking one that definitely gonna stay back to ask lecturer more questions
The second on in the group to get a GF. But very very low key.
Linking to the tutor AU I posted recently, he might be teaching online to gain extra income because he does not want to do part time job to exhaust himself as he want to reserve energy to dance. Which also the main factor he suggested Yuto to do online teaching later
Minkyun : Musical student but focusing on composing. To jump from stereotypes, he could be going to broadcast communications, to become professional radio DJ
He might also join another club which is established by uni it self to make radio broadcast that plays at the cafeteria.
Cues in other members all recognise his voice immediately. Lol if he qccidentally messed up on some wordings, the next time they meet they are gonna tease him for sure haha
OK this applies to all of them but I only remembered to include this during writing for Minkyun, the boys are totally banned from playing any games at the cafeteria lol (not a strict ban but they are loud lol.) So they changed plans to play game and hangout at home, with Yuto coming over to sleep over.
Yuto : the exchange student / the foreign student who is majoring in Korean language. High chance going for Korean language teaching later.
Once they knew Yuto's Korean Proficiency level are above average, the boys are supportive and proud of him af. Lol also his devilish hyungs teasing him that he should get a girlfriend, it is a way to master language lol
Cues in his hyungs helping him out by giving him small tests of Korean grammar
Could be the only one who lives in university dorms. But he gets to have sleepovers with his hyungs at their house during weekends (rent or family residence,up to you)
Even encourages him to try out online teaching beginners first to gain experiences
Probably feeling sadden the most when found out Minseok had to quit university. Also could not help feeling lonely when his hyungs graduated. (Some did extend studies but some did not. My hunch, Minkyun and Chang Yoon could be the first two to graduated first. Jaeyoung and Yuto being the last two to graduate)
Minseok : a junior who studies history and choosing Japanese + Chinese as sub majors. Who knows, he might choose translating/interpreting as major later (I mean have you seen some interviews where he used Japanese and Chinese, damn his pronunciation is good, trust me cos i speak both language)
Did not get to stay long, maybe just 1 year and a half then he had to quit university because his whole family are moving out from the country (no worries they contact each other online frequently). His hyungs defo doing a farewell party for him.
Even though short time, but he gained the title of university sweetheart by the first day he starts uni.
Same as Seungjoon and Jaeyoung, the type to find him in library alot.
Of course gonna ask Yuto a lot of Japanese grammar questions
BTW if link to Sibling AU, should we link it to the double Kim household, Minseok did not drop out. He could have participated an exchange program and had to leave for overseas to complete a course at a better institute
A/N : Ok I am gonna stop here before it gets even messier (slaps forehead I changdolled while writing this)

QueennNnn!! Your art isn't awful! Its friggin beautiful and you can't change my mind!!💖💖💖💖💖 Also, while I'm sending an ask, can I have some more information about your adorable babies👀👀 (I wanna make more drawings for them uwu💕)
Ahhhh alrighty alrighty, I’m not gonna argue with you sweetie hehe😂💖! I’m just,,, super happy that you all like my art so much huhuhu, and thank you for always being such a dear to me💖💖💖!!!
AahhaAAAAh, about the babies—-🙈🌠💖! I’d be absolutely honored and delighted to tell you more about them!!! I don’t know if I should put this under a cut or not though because…. phew…. it’s gonna be a bit long xD (and I also don’t have any good drawings left of them and unfortunately need to use some terrible old sketches because??? I don’t draw our children often enough??? Pffff that still needs to change💕)
here’s a warning for me being indulgent and swooning over my Crachelle babies up ahead xD!
——–
Trifle
Tumblr media
She’s a true Daddy’s girl through and through xD Her hair color is actually a very light pink but with slightly purple undertones, basically a mix of Angel’s and Big Mom’s hair- aaaand she got my bright, blue eyes😂 Trifle is a very open-hearted and kind girl, although she tends to be a bit too dreamy sometimes! Her father is her ultimate hero and she wants to be just like him while growing up. Many of her clothes are actually mirroring that as well, and she even started to put a special kind of fire-crackers into her hair to further showcase her close bound with Papa Cracker lol. Unfortunately though… she never really knows what she actually wants and is more than once lost in her own little fantasies, which can occasionally come to bite her. Flambe is Trifle’s favorite aunt and often helps her when she’s dealing with yet another girl crush again huhu xDD
Fun fact: when she was little she used to plant ‘magic seeds’ (rocks) in our garden, hoping that they would grow to give her a little sister someday. (yes, Cracker and I really regret watching Thumbelina with her)
Pretzel
Tumblr media
Although Trifle tries to imitate her Papa as good as possible, it’s actually Pretzel who is stuck with resembling Cracker the most- but only appearance-wise! As you can probably tell, he’s the spitting image of his dad… minus the lack of eyebrows and some other little details haha xD Pretzel is a bit of a shy boy who tends to overthink certain things and often has some difficulties with making new friends- but once someone spends a bit of time with him, he truly thaws up to be one of the coolest people around! His relationship with his father is rather strained, mostly because Cracker has many high expectations for his oldest son, and if he doesn’t live up to them…. well, things can get a bit problematic xd Pretzel also got a hearing problem and communication is a little difficult, but he’s always doing his best to let people know about how he feels! His favorite uncle is Oven, who often helps him with training and getting stronger.
Fun fact: Pretzel actually dislikes his name. A lot. The fact that he was basically named after a sword constantly haunts him, even if he tries not to think about it lol
Eclair/Anne
Tumblr media
Nothing about her ever stays the same for long, since Eclair is a true free spirit! Her natural hair color is a rich brown with some lilac undertones, but it can be rather hard to tell because she loves to change it on an almost monthly basis! Out of all the siblings she’s probably the smartest and most cunning, and always knows just how to get her way xD Eclair often pretends to be naive or even somewhat stupid so people will leave her alone or to avoid certain duties lol, but depending on the situation she might actually show her true colors to help those that are dear to her! She prefers to do things that bring her fun or pleasure rather than strict chores, and one of her favorite hobbies is painting pictures to express herself! She’s the anti-social bee of the family, although her parents often nudge her to be a bit more open and find friends xD Her favorite uncle is Mont-d’Or and she also enjoys spending time with Amande, since they can both understand her more introvert behaviour and love for artistic outlets!
Fun fact: she’s actually a bit short-sighed and supposed to wear glasses, but she never does! And if her parents were to ask her about it, she’ll simply respond and say that she ‘lost’ them again lol
Dodger
Tumblr media
Did you ever ask yourself… ‘what if there was a kid that’s basically just like Cracker, only 100 times worse?’ no? Well too bad, because that is exactly what you’re getting with Dodger! Oh boy, where to start… as far as appearance goes, he’s a pretty solid mix of his parents- his hair is similar to mine (only more wild and spikey) while his eyes and face resemble his father. But his personality is just…. too much to handle for the both of us! Dodger is truly the definition of ‘troublemaker’, as there is not a single day where he doesn’t get caught up in some drama! He’s an unstoppable bundle of energy and keeps his good traits hidden for most of the time, since it’s soooo much more fun to just get on people’s nerves xD To make matters worse, he also has a deep love for stabbing things. Mostly inanimate objects though, but still!!! Best be careful around him! Other than that, he actually dreams of becoming strong and powerful like his Papa, and sometimes sneaks into the Seducing Woods to train his ‘intimidation tactic’ on some unsuspecting homies. (He basically wants to be able to make them wither away in fear, similiar to what Cracker did xD) His favorite aunt is Angel, whom he always plots new pranks with!
Fun Fact: His relationship with his Pa is pretty good, but there was one incident that left Dodger slightly fearful of him…
Last but not least, Cherry!
Tumblr media
Cherry is,,, the currently reigning baby of the family- she’s just,,, hhh,,, so tiny and precious ;^; With her big ruby eyes and bubblegum-pink hair she really looks like a wildcard, but there is at least one physical similarity she shares with her father- the lack of eyebrows xD Cherry loves her parents more than anything (and tbh gets a bit coddled by us too), but that doesn’t mean she won’t get into trouble! She’s an adventurer at heart and likes nothing more than to run into a forest, befriend some random animals, and discover new things! Together with her pet bunny Bun Bun she’s ready to take on any adventure, and of course, be home again by dinnertime!
Fun fact: when she was still a very smol baby, her older brother Dodger once tried to ship her off to an orphanage because her babbling/crying was too loud lol
in conclusion: I love my babies very much, thank you xD And I definitely need to draw them more often!!! hhhHHh there are a few small comics I’m already working on but psssssttt xD Also I’m really sorry for the bad sketches on this one, I just don’t have enough good pictures aaahh

1.
Two weeks ago, my sister decided to cut her shoulder length hair to a number 2 buzzcut. As a woman in her early 20’s with few formal responsibilities, this haircut was simply a way for her to take authority over her appearance and celebrate her youth. Whilst she knew that people’s responses would be polarised, she wasn’t expecting how attached other people had become to her old hair. Comments such as “oh, but she had such lovely hair” and “why did she go so drastic” have been frequent from family friends and neighbours and have left me wondering what hair really does mean on a person. Whilst it’s clear some of these viewpoints come from more conservative understandings of femininity and others merely come from the shock of a big change, I have become astonished by the significance people attach to the hairstyle choices of other people.
My sister’s decision to shave her head stemmed from her dislike for the inconvenience of having longer locks. Personally this is a feeling I cannot relate to. For as long as I can remember I have desired Rapunzel-esque flowing lengths of hair. As a child I was jealous of anybody and everybody with a few extra inches than me. I longed for the day that my hair would be comparable to the waist-length manes of the dolls I played with and women I watched on screen, and as embarrassing as it is to admit, I still to this day sometimes find myself comparing the length of my own hair to those around me. Whilst this desire for long hair may have initially been a result of social conditioning and the feminine ideals I have been brought up to emulate, the attachment I now have to my long hair is for the strength I feel it gives me. As I have grown, so has my hair; its structure withholds information from each year that it has been attached to me. Whilst it has an attachment to the past, I see my hair as a reminder for how much has changed and how much will continue to change and that i will also grow and evolve alongside it. Where I gain confidence from having a long mass of hair, my sister has found a new confidence with having very little. Describing what these past few weeks have been like, she told me that there is a particular vulnerability without having the security blanket of hair to hide behind. Often our hair detracts some of the focus from our face, thus can feel like an extra layer of protection. With that added layer gone she has found herself to become more comfortable in her natural state and thus has gained a new confidence in not needing that added barrier. For much of human history, long hair had been adopted by people in positions of power as it provided a visual representation of their wealth and higher status. In many cases authoritative figures have forced those beneath them to cut their hair in order to reinforce the sense of power and ownership they hold over them. In other cases, most noticeable within the skinhead subculture emerging in London in the 1960s, people chose to shave their heads in an expression of their rejection of austerity and conservatism. Hair length can provide such a strong sense of empowerment depending on the context it is in; I find it intriguing that these two opposites (long and short) can in essence provide the same feeling for the wearer. Each of these examples of strength are dependent on the wearer having autonomy over how they chose to style their hair; I think there is an interesting concept within what people intend their chosen hair length to represent and how it is really seen by others. There is also the exploitative side to the history of hair length. Within this there could be a valuable study on how important hair is for the expression of self identity and the consequences of this being denied or taken away from an individual.
We cannot view hair now without applying a political connotation to it. Even if it is unintentional, the way we present our hair has been politicised to such an extent that it is now an inescapable inevitability. Hair has been such an integral way in which people depict their race or ethnic background, religion, their sexuality, their political leanings, their age, gender, the music they listen to and so on. As a gay woman, an assumption she recieved in response to the cut was that she had done it to “look more gay”. Whilst hair can be and often is used to illustrate a part of someone’s personality, these damaging stereotypes reiterate the misogynistic beliefs that remain in the way society views women’s appearance. Unfortunately these assumptions between hair length and sexuality have not changed much over the past sixty years. In an interview Simon Mayo did with Bruce Springsteen for BBC Radio 2’s ‘Drivetime’, Springsteen describes the attitudes of America when the Beatles brought the long hair trend across the pond in 1964: “they thought, you know, are you gay?... That's what my father asked me, you know, when I grew my hair like an inch, and he wasn’t kidding”. Whilst western society has strict customs for the lengths acceptable for each gender and sexuality, they haven’t always been the same, thus making each one entirely arbitrary. It would be interesting to compare these regulations from across history to find where each of our supposedly inflexible rules for hair have come from. On top of this, I would be interested to know how hairstyles may have been used as a form of secret messaging. Much like earrings being worn on the right ear of homosexual men were utilised to share a message only with others who knew about the code, I wonder if, and how, hair has been used through history on the subject of showing sexuality through code. Another form of identity shown through hair can be race. Braids have been an important part of many African cultures. Thought to have started with the Himba people of Namibia, different tribes have since continued to create different styles of braids. Through different traditional styles, braids could indicate a person’s tribe, religion, wealth, marital status and age. When the slave trade was initiated by Europeans in the early 16th century, one of the first acts of exploitation was shaving off their prisoners’ hair. This removed all indications of cultural identity as depicted through hair and reduced slaves to just one character. Racism towards people of colour did not end with slavery and hair, whether worn in a natural afro style or in braids, has frequently been used as a reason for descrimination. Due to this troubling history, the appropriation of these styles has been especially problematic and is an important aspect to look into on the subject of politicised hair.
Other assumptions we make of people's personalities through their hair comes from its colour and texture. Literature has long used the metonymic description of hair to help inform the details of a character’s whole personality and behaviour. As Susan J Vincent notes in Hair, An illustrated History, ‘Jane Eyre’s brown tresses are neat and unassuming, their wayward potential smoothed and disciplined; Blanche Ingram’s are a showy raven-black, glossily curled and becoming; and the insane, bestial Bertha Rochester gibbers in her attic under ’a quantity of dark, grizzled hair, wild as a mane’. From these simple physical descriptions we are encouraged to assume that these women are three wildly different characters. Indeed we do make uneducated judgements about people’s personalities solely from the appearance of their hair. Medical practice from the middle ages included the study of the ‘four humours’: blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile; with this style of medicine, it was believed that physical features showed what was happening with these four elements inside the body. Along this school of thought it was also believed that specific bodily features related to different psychological traits and hair was used as one of the main indicators. With this practice, many stereotypes were formed about the characters relating to different hair, and many of these remain today. In 1796 a ladies’ almanac created a guideline for the moral qualities relating to some hair types. The examples it gave were that “black smooth hair in both men and women denotes mildness, constancy, and affection, whereas black curly hair indicates inebriety, a quarrelsome temper and a nature inclined to amorousness. In men, long red hair ‘denotes cunning, artifice, and deceit’, and in women, a glib tongue, vain nature and ‘an impatient and fiery temper’”. Whilst we may not exactly follow these associations today, we still allow stereotypes to colour our judgement of people’s appearances. With depictions of Venus, the goddess of beauty, love and fertility, emerging from the water with cascading fair hair, the connotations of purity with blondes has been well rooted in our society. Following the theory that ‘blondes have more fun’ a research paper in 1997 by psychologist Dr Tony Fallone writes of the blonde psychology, stating that “blondes equal innocent, fragile, youthful, cool, chaste and ultimately sexy, kittenish and irresistable- not a colour, then, but a state of mind.” Red hair has received similar regard in terms of the character it represents, however rather than any connections to godliness, it has long received the most prejudice. The first hair dyes created were advertised for people with grey or ginger hair. In 1254 St Louis King of France ordained that all prostitutes must dye their hair reed, automatically connecting the colour with sexual behaviour, however in the middle ages, redheaded women were considered to be witches and were executed. By the end of the 1800s red hair had been praised so highly through literature that it became a symbol of rare and natural beauty. These examples prove the importance people have held throughout history on hair reflecting internal attributes, a focus that still remains to a certain degree in our judgements of hair today. This too could be a rich topic of research to consider.

Why masculinity matters in schools
Why talk about masculinity in a patriarchal society? We know that there are more people called John than there are women in American leadership positions. In schools, women make 74% of the workforce but only 65% of heads are women.
For centuries, feminism has drawn attention to the multifaceted way in which women are disadvantaged: a lack of voting rights, harassment and traditional gender roles. It’s incredibly easy to assume that feminism is solely about feminine issues. To the contrary, discussions exploring masculinity have been had in academia (and outside it) for years.
But more recently, there have been many more popularized discussions around what masculinity is, often referencing ‘toxic masculinity: a set of individualised and societal behaviours that an archetypal man performs, much to their own or others’ detriment, For example, not being emotional, being dominant and violent. However, there are also traits which are described as traditionally masculine that aren’t necessarily negative: tough, independent, logical. In opposition to this are traditionally feminine traits of reservation, empathy and patience. And yes, there’s toxic femininity too: coercion through guilt, inability to confront and choosing indecision in order to not upset others.
And anyone of any gender can reaffirm these traits. A man can coerce through guilt; a woman can be violent. Anyone can undermine someone by claiming they are not a true man or woman because they do not display the masculine/feminine traits assigned to them; the phrases ‘Man up’ or ‘That’s not very ladylike’ come to mind. In summary, for us to truly challenge the role of women, we have to simultaneously deconstruct what it means to be a man. And eventually, someday, anyone could hold those traits, without it inevitably relating to their gender. Sadly 2021 is not someday and we live in a sexist, unkind world for all genders.
This is where schools come in. Rules, curriculum and culture can continue to gender these traits; with schools can become petri dishes for both toxic masculinity and femininity. Policing and sexualisation of girls’ uniform; gendered curriculums (netball is for girls, football is for boys) and not challenging sexist conduct all become part of the cause. Masculinity can be explored in regards to all of these. Why are we asking girls to police themselves when we could explore boys’ needs to dominate and objectify? What if a boy wants to play netball - why isn’t this as athletic as football or rugby? Why is it wrong to call a boy a cissy or gay for having girl friends rather than boy friends?
I took to Twitter to ask those identifying as men to describe the masculinities that they felt were present amongst staff and students and to describe the advantages and disadvantages of being a man within education. Participants were allowed to claim anonymity or to be credited (see Footnotes) ; I have used some of their  responses to illustrate prominent views amongst the 120 volunteers*.
The presence of different men and different masculinities is important
Nearly all participants said it was important to have men in schools to reflect diversity in society and within masculinity. One respondent stated:
“ It’s important to have teachers of all genders, faiths, genders and sexualities. Pupils need to have a variety of role models. In particular, it’s important for pupils to see different types of masculinity. I am quite camp and chipper, a science teacher is strict and sarcastic, the head is typically masculine. We are all valid!” - Anon.
Moreover, one of the most common phrases that appeared in my research was ‘role model’, especially for boys with absent male role models in their lives:
“It’s so important for students to have strong male role models in school. I don’t of course mean physically, far from it, but men who are open, honest and representative of the majority of men in the country - not the minority in magazines, who make the news etc. As a HoY, I’ve previously had students where their mothers have openly said they see me essentially as their dad!!” - @ThebigCteacher
Many of the participants noted that being a role model for boys meant showing them that being a man means many things and many of these behaviours are not traditionally masculine. For example, being calm or expressing emotions, especially in the form of crying.
Men were also proud to show gender diversity whilst also representing different cultures and sexualities, demonstrating the importance of showing different masculinities within different contexts. This can be extremely helpful in challenging problematic views amongst students, including gamers, which can lead to ‘to racial, homophobic and negative sexualised language towards each other.” - @returnofthefact.
It is wonderful that men are so proud to challenge what ‘masculine’ means. We must ensure that this ethos is shared amongst all staff so that people are not single handedly firefighting.  For example, if one teacher is demonstrating that men can cry, it’s crucial that another doesn’t say ‘Man up!’. This is especially so in regards to racism, homophobia, sexism, transphobia or ableism; those who are being discriminated cannot be the only ones to challenge it.
Participants also felt their presence was important in showing boys that their subject, such as English or Modern Foreign Languages was a subject that they could enjoy and thrive in. They also felt that being a man and a teacher showed boys that teaching was a career option for them too, which I speak about more further on.
Believing men handle behaviour better reinforces stereotypes
In the survey, the belief that teachers who are men are better at behaviour management was overwhelmingly prevalent.
‘Men are sometimes preferred to be the disciplinarian. Going to see one of the (very few) male teachers is seen as a negative view. Being a strict male is seen as a positive thing.’ - @MrG_Year3
Where does this view come from and secondly, is there any truth to it? The first question is impossible to answer succinctly. We really could take a detour into the role of men within societies, the patriarchy and power/gender relations. But let’s narrow our focus to schools - why is there a belief that men are better at managing behaviour?
Some participants stipulated that having deeper or louder voices is beneficial. I can see this in my own school experiences. I remember teachers silencing whole rooms with a shout, or down the corridors, simply because if they did not raise their voices, they wouldn’t be heard and there really could be some dangerous results if action wasn’t taken and heard. Sometimes the shout can really be a jolt - a sign that you have pushed limits too far and teachers deserve respect. This behaviour management strategy is highly visible, so if it works, it will be seen as effective.
However, what we need to remember is that the approach may be traditionally masculine but that is not to say that all men will use that approach. By extension, you will have women who have very masculinized management strategies. I have definitely heard whole corridors being silenced by women; there were men at my school who never raised their voices and never had disruptive classes.
Furthermore, the visibility of a shout does not necessarily mean it is effective. Teachers use warning/reward charts and verbal praise but perhaps this is seen as preventive rather than consequential; it is less visible and therefore potentially perceived as less effective. Believing that men are better at managing behaviour because of their biology glosses over their empathy and professional judgement, which could include those strategies. This simultaneously instills that women do not manage behaviour as effectively if they use a more ‘feminine’ approach.
In my opinion, effective behaviour management encompasses both feminine and masculine traits of firmness, patience and empathy, which any person of any gender can demonstrate or lack. Therefore, believing that one gender is ‘better’ at behaviour management is essentialist. In this case, this means believing that there are attributes that men have (stronger behaviour management) and visa versa for women (weaker behaviour management).
It is also incredibly unhelpful in regards to teacher training as shown in the quote below:
“I believe that it has been assumed incorrectly that I don’t need help with behaviour management at times” - Anon.
Assuming that all men have effective behaviour management as a skill because they are a man can be detrimental to individual and whole school development. We all know that effective or ineffective behaviour management can make you or break you as a teacher. What if we’ve lost amazing teachers who are men because they didn’t get the support they needed? What if we missed fantastic mentoring because we haven’t put a talented woman in charge?
Others noted that this biology did play a part in behaviour management but this is not necessarily a positive experience:
“[There’s a] perception that as a man you will do certain things, often physical when a woman colleague might not be asked.” - Anon.
Some men felt that because they were physically stronger, they were asked to physically restrain students or to break up fights, with little regard for their preference in the matter. We really shouldn’t assume that because a man is able to break up a fight, he should. After all, this is putting him at risk both physically and mentally. Some may say that men intervening is less physically risky than a woman doing so,  but this is again working on the premise that all men are physically stronger than all women. What about women who are rugby players? They may be physically stronger (and maybe better mentally prepared) to intervene within an altercation. Assumptions like this reaffirm that men should be tough, brave disciplinarians whilst women sit by, ready to talk about it after.
Tumblr media
There is both positive and negative discrimination toward staff who are men
As mentioned previously, the majority of the teaching workforce is women. This fact is sometimes cited as a reason for boys’ underachievement. Therefore, schools can be eager to increase the number of men amongst staff. A number of respondents mentioned this:
‘There are less men in primary schools so there may be a positive recruitment bias to increase numbers. Once in school I don't believe there is still an advantage.’  - Anon
‘I know for certain that I wouldn’t have got onto my PGCE cohort on merit. That there was a quota of men to meet was an open secret.’ - Anon
Despite this, the number of men in teaching positions is falling and boys now see less representation at the front of the class. The less representation, the less likely someone can see themselves doing a certain job thus the job is seen as either a man’s job or a woman’s, seen in the quote below:
“Whenever you tell a member of the public that you are a teacher, I often have people smirk and say that it’s a woman’s job. Which of course is nonsense as any gender can be teachers.” - Anon
Although I would challenge articles that use phrases to describe schools with many women as ‘dominated’ instead of ‘majority’. Both terms can be problematic, of course. Someone can feel alienated from a job simply because they are in the minority but the word domination has deeper connotations. Domination is the exertion of power. We can work in environments where we are the minority but also within unhealthy power dynamics.
Teachers who are men are no exception to this. Participants did note feelings of alienation or not fitting in amongst women majority workplaces but, more importantly, many noted that their workplaces had very traditional and detrimental views of what masculinity means including:
No support after traumatic events such as romantic relationships ending
Believing men were unempathetic, insensitive or not understanding
Deploying men to upper key stage two rather than early years
There were also physical barriers such as no adult male toilets.
Of course, in men-dominated workplaces, women can suffer in similar (or worse) ways e.g. sexual harassment (which men also can suffer from) and the pay gap. I am not arguing against this; we live in a patriarchal society where being a man comes with many privileges. However, if we continue to stereotype which careers are for men and which ones are for women, it harms us all. It stops fantastic teachers who are men entering the classroom; it stops women becoming engineers. It means men are not persuaded or permitted to take paternity leave whilst women can be turned away from a job in the fear she will have children.
Moreover, the lack of men within schools can bring with it a sense of distrust and that men have gone into teaching because they are, in one participant’s words, ‘perverts’. Several participants commented that they were told to be especially careful in order to avoid accusations. This is obviously upsetting for the teacher but also this is detrimental for the day to day responsibilities of teaching, see below:
“I feel less trusted than my female counterparts and also no one expects me to support any child if they have a toilet accident (I work in Year 1).” - Anon.
Additionally, what about talking to a student about something incredibly personal? What if one of their parents is dying? What if they have been assaulted? What if the only teacher the student trusts with this disclosure is a man? Our belief that men are predatory and dominating and unable to empathise can result in perpetrators committing the crime without consequence. If that student can’t disclose to that teacher, if that piece of the puzzle isn’t found, abuse can continue. Moreover, that’s why we need to discuss and challenge predatory behaviour, an example of toxic masculinity, in friendship circles and in the classroom, so eventually there is less truth within the fear.
Conclusion
Masculinity matters because many of us still see it only for its traditional traits. The stereotyping of teachers who are men demonstrates this. The survey showed many men feel they are typecast as tough, unfeeling managers of behaviour who cannot be trusted to deal with the sensitivities of teaching. Inferentially, women are viewed as not strong enough to cope with serious incidents and are more suited to the classroom, rather than the boardroom. Masculinity affects us all, so let’s talk and teach about it, highlighting its diversity and accessibility as well as its limits until eventually we do reach a point where a trait is no longer feminine or masculine, it just is.

Audiences in the digital age
Prior to the digital age, the term audience was depicted as a mass group of people sharing a physical location for an event. In today’s society, the term audience has developed due to various social media networks that allow individuals to be audiences off. Due to easy connectivity with content, the digital age has brought forth instant communications and exposure to an unlimited number of events. In this blog, I wanted to explore the audience experience prior to the digital age till now. By utilizing course concepts such as uses and gratifications, encoding/decoding etc. My aim is to highlight the shift in the audience experience. Also, by using real-world and personal examples to provide evidence of the apparent shift and how it can affect future generations.
Tumblr media
I could still remember the day I used a computer for the first time. I was about 10 years old and the software was running on Windows 95. There wasn’t much I could do in terms of communicating except when dial-up was connected which was on the rare occasion when my parent's video called my cousins abroad. With the advancement of technology, we started receiving more features on pcs such as faster software, updates and new programs. Now, we jump to 2017 to where personal computers can fit into our pockets with the creation of smartphones. These smartphones outperform computers in the sense that it allows individuals to access the internet and its constant in an instant and on the go. With all this change in a short time, how has technology actually affected our social lives? Even when social networks were created I did not imagine it would get to a point where I don’t have to leave my house to see and chat with people. This is best explained with expectancy-value theory, where individuals have a built-in set of beliefs when it comes to new creations. I felt strongly about seeing people in the physical sense and having a conversation with them that I did not believe in the future of social networks but was I wrong.  Nowadays social interaction is mostly taken place over the internet, whether it is through a social networking application such as Twitter, Facebook or Instagram or something a little more traditional such as e-mail. With all this interconnectivity, large corporations took advantage of all the customer data and begin to use marketing techniques to target specific individuals to sell products and information to.
Tumblr media
As humans in the 21st century, advertisements are a daily part of our lives. We see plenty of advertisements throughout our day from watching television to connecting with people on Instagram and even the busses we travel on are all flooded with companies trying to sell products. Sullivan defines this concept as ‘the audience commodity”, a tool for media corporations to sell user data to it corporations (Sullivan 2013). The leisure time we use to consume content is now used to market similar products or content in order for corporations to make big profits. This idea is not really new to us, the Nielsen rating system took advantage of heavy television viewing by families by monitoring the peak hours of viewing and what kind of programs individuals were consuming. Clearly, this information is very valuable in the hands of a company such as Hasbro toy makers. As consumers, companies try to extort the viewing time of the public. I first noticed this when I was in elementary school and every day after school I would watch Pokémon on YTV. During the commercials, Hasbro would air toy ads generated for young boys such as ads for ninja turtle toys and hot wheels. Also, as I grew older I noticed the trends of the toys were changing and these companies were adapting to change by advertising a new product to cater to specific markets. In the article titled “The Rise of Market Information Regimes and the Historical Development of Audience Ratings”, Karen Buzzard presents the notion that “in order to create knowledge about market activity, organizations find ways to pool information through the use of independent suppliers, such as Nielsen” (Buzzard, 2015). Therefore, these conglomerates actively approach an organization like Nielsen to gather data to target specific demographics.
Tumblr media
Currently, the television industry has drastically changed in order to adapt to the digital shift. Even in my parents’ house, we had our cable cancelled years ago because everyone had their own phones and laptops and we would just watch whatever shows we enjoy by streaming them. In an article discussed in the seminar by Shyam Sundar and Anthony M. Limperos titled “Uses and Grats 2.0: New Gratifications for New Media” examine the theory of uses and gratifications for the digital age. They state that “it is problematic to conceptualize convergent media like the Internet as a single monolithic source. Instead, it is more useful to disaggregate such media into their constituent affordances (e.g., interactivity) and study the uses and gratifications obtained from each of those affordances” (Sundar, 2013). The internet is a lot different than the television viewing experience due to television being more a monolithic source where the programs are on a strict schedule and audience have to allot time to tune in to watch programs. With the internet, the audience has more choices with streaming services such as Netflix where programs of different variety are offered with the benefit of no advertisements. With a lot of active audience on the internet, services have specific uses such as Netflix is utilized for streaming movies and TV shows, while YouTube is used for content creators to make a short more personalized video, tutorials and more. By examining this shift, the advertiser has deviated their old ways to adapt to the internet age. Social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram specifically tailor advertisements to audience needs.
Majority of the time social media advertisements campaigns have gone viral due to a specific message such as the Molson Canadian advertisements presented in lecture. But with so many active audience members, miscommunication and interpretation of meaning and messages can end up badly for the advertisers. For example, earlier this year Pepsi released a video campaign staring Kendal Jenner. The advertisement depicts a protest taking place and oppressed young people are marching and then Jenner joins the protest in and marches up to a police officer and hands him the soda. As he drinks the soda, a large smile appears on his face and the protesters are content with joy. Upon viewing this ad, I understood the fact that it was depicting a movie like a sequence where the conflict is solved by this brave gesture and everyone lives happily ever after. I believe Pepsi wanted to signify bold actions and create this sequence to display that message with the soda being the sign and handing the soda as the signifier. But while America was in the midst of constant protests and riots from the black lives matter movement, police brutality was a sensitive topic in the community. Due to these horrid events taking place, the audience decoded this message at poking fun of the serious on-going issues. The encoded message that Pepsi had to offer was depicted as a mockery of individuals taking a stand against police brutality against minorities in society. I believe cultural differences between societies have a different connotation of the denotative level of meaning.
Tumblr media
In Canada, we are fortunate enough to have various ethnic groups residing in one place. It provides a full rounded view of issues when dealing with other cultures and religions. I moved to Canada when I was 13 years old and it was culture shock personally because I had to adapt my behaviour to fit into society. Since I moved to Canada at a fairly young age, there were not much language barriers, I learned to read and write in English in my school in India and adapting to the Canadian accent took a couple of years. The biggest problem I faced was being a visible minority, my background in Sikhism and majority of Sikh do not cut their hair. The men wear a turban and most people believe that it is just a tool to tie up the hair. That is correct but it only serves as a denotative meaning. The connotation of the turban is that it is a sign of safety. Muslims and Hindus have had many conflicts even until today where they are fighting for territory in Pakistan and India. When the Mughals empire ruled the majority of Asia, the Muslims invaded India and began to behead Hindus due to orders from King Jahangir. A Sikh guru at the time rose up and declared that all Sikh keep their hair and tie a turban and when Hindus saw a turban and they were in danger, they knew they could go to the man in a turban and they would remain safe. Therefore, the representation of the turban was evident to me because I knew it represented something much more than myself. Due to events that took place on September 11, 2001, the representation of the turban immediately signified a follower of Islam, terrorist and an outsider. Western media changed how the turban was viewed and this displays the strength of audience power. The audience has the power to propagate an ideology, for example, Star Wars was just a film at the time of its release but the audience took it and turned into a popular culture icon with fan literature, memorabilia and more. Similarly, the mass audience established a stereotype of a turban being related to radical Islam supporters.
Tumblr media
The way we behave as audiences have changed drastically over the past 20 years. Audiences have become more active in the digital age due to more connectivity through the internet and various social networking applications. By growing up in this shift where digital communication seemed like a fantasy to now where VR is starting to be incorporated into phones. This change causes a shift in human behaviour and dominant hegemonic positions. Ultimately, being an audience in the digital age allows individuals to gratify their needs with plenty of alternatives and the way we communicate in the future is always subject to change because of the constant advancement in technology.

i don't think people are picking on the chainsmokers because they're literally nobody and no one knows them except for their songs. i dont know their songs either tbh lol.
tbh i never even saw their faces before they took pics with bangtan, but i have heard their songs (like how can you not? those songs are HUGE and i don’t even follow american music tbh) and heard about them as people… eeh… yeah… i’d call them and their sexism problematic way more readily than what halsey is doing right now
more asks under read more! ;;
Anonymous said:please stop being like “people are picking on halsey because she’s a woman”. people don’t pick on the chainsmokers bc noboby actually knows who they are. and everyone here, or at least most of the fandom, loves tinashe to death and would be 100x more times happy if it was her or like kehlani, instead of halsey.
oh i would also definitely take kehlani over halsey any day myself! i’m not saying that it’s just because she’s a woman. but when it comes to this whole problematic thing… there is a double standard, i’m sorry i do believe that sexism is a factor because of the comments i’ve seen that are rooted in it by nature, if you aren’t fond of her for ~problematic~ behaviour in the past or even for being annoying (like i do lol) that is valid, i’m not taking it away from you, but the things i’ve seen people say… like i’m not cooking out of water you know, i have reasons as to why i said what i said… i try not to make made up blanket statements ._. also there is a stark contrast between how other people (men) were received when they interacted or tried interacting with the boys (pewdiepie had a much warmer response overall AND LIKE? IF YOU KNOW WHAT HE DOES THEN YOU KNOW THAT SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THE CASE)… anyway, i just still don’t think that any of it is relevant when it comes to bangtan? halsey being “problematic” or disliked by people… you can personally dislike her but she would be of great benefit to them and the boys do like her and were so excited to meet her, but you are going to be like OH NO YOU ARE DUMB GUYS SHE’S PROBLEMATIC, i’d much prefer kehlani (especially music wise!) but i don’t think it’s inherently wrong for bangtan to work with halsey if it were to happen and i am happy for them, like the screaming “OMG NO NOT THAT SLUT” like? that is… not good… i think we should be pleased and happy for the boys getting connections like this for the many reasons i said before and i don’t want to repeat myself too much so i’ll leave it there
Anonymous said:halsey has kissed a lOT of underage fans (she even tweeted “I keep promising underage fans that I’m gonna make out with them. I am SO going to jail.” but she deleted it). her ghost and colors music videos are problematic. she also had a tweet saying “Asians multiply every year”. and honestly she “speaks” on black lives matter bc she considers herself biracial but “passes” as white (literally no one could tell if she wanst like gUYS PLEASE I HAVE A BLACK DAD I’M HALF BLACK!).
Anonymous said:halsey is a really problematic person though
sorry i’m just going to do a combined response. when it comes to the kissing etc… i already discussed most of this and my point is still the same, so i’m not going to repeat myself, you can go read my previous asks again for my opinion there. about the videos i don’t see…how those music videos are problematic, i just watched them cause I’M NOT A HALSEY FAN why is this happening to me dakjsd, but yeah like you could debate it but that is some very strict standards there, do you find bangtan problematic as well then? like cultural appropriation wise or whatever, since that seems to be your issue with the first one, i didn’t see much wrong with the second one…
but yeah, that is my question, do you think bangtan are problematic? i assume you both are bangtan stans since you’re here akdjs… but because if these are your standards then bangtan also most definitely fit in there, especially if to you “problematic” is something that defines you for the rest of your life once you do a problematic thing. to go on a tangent… i just have a problem with that word i suppose… problematic… the issue with that word is that people call people like halsey problematic to define them for doing problematic things in the past even if they try they best in the present, and i don’t think that’s fair, because then they also call the same thing the people that are actively racist right now, people that are misogynist or homophobic right now, celebrities that are abusive and break the law etc, like how can you put someone who made yeah ugly racist comments and jokes when they were 15-17 or so but learned from it (and from quick googling apologized as well) in the same category as people like johnny depp, woody allen or chris brown? which is what i see happening? and also with all the “problematic favs” being thrown around? jennifer lawrence etc?
i already said that i don’t even really like her, i’m just indifferent, and i’m not comfortable defending her because… she did some messy things and i don’t care for her and it wasn’t even my point, i find her grating and annoying and messy, i guess this is really about what the word means to you? i admitted i didn’t know about the asian comments, but i did for example know about her transphobic comments and my opinion is the same before and after… i justtt can’t get behind calling her problematic as a whole…
she did say problematic things in the past i can agree there! people are definitely right there i can concede. but i don’t think she’s problematic as a person because to me that means someone who is actively “causing problems and refuses to correct their behaviour” ykwim… to me she seems actively trying to be a positive influence on the world RIGHT NOW and seems to have learned from what you mentioned, and i can appreciate that, that is one of the things i really appreciate about namjoon - reflection, growth, trying to make a positive difference, i could be always wrong but i prefer giving people the benefit of the doubt.. if she goes out and does something genuinely problematic tomorrow i’ll apologize to you personally.
also if you’re gonna bring up her racial comments from so long ago and keep making it your point, are you going to do the same to namjoon? i’m curious. because i hate when other kpop fans use namjoon as the model for problematic idols, that’s why i’m cautious about treating other celebrities that way. you could pick out the messy and problematic things from anyone’s life and just write them off, bangtan included :/ so if you stan them i do find this sort of thing hypocritical.
and last thing, about her race… i can’t even… like… you are going to erase her race because she is passing? or what do you mean? what is your point even????? there are black celebrities that never said a word about it, that’s why i brought it up, i know she’s biracial, was that your point? to like remove one of the positive things she does? are you really mocking her for trying to be socially active? she put herself out there to do the right thing, i don’t think it’s worth that sort of tone. i really don’t get your point of view. idek.. that is just way too cynical even for me.
but yeah, i said several times that my point wasn’t really to discuss whether she’s problematic or not, i don’t think she is right now though, she was in the past and i think she is questionable and i have my opinion about her in general, you can find her problematic if you want i guess, that is just a matter of how you define the word, we can agree to disagree. my point was that she can be of benefit to the boys and i stand by that! she was extremely nice and respectful to them and the boys liked her too, we don’t need to ruin it for them
also i know this is a really long reply so if you want to discuss it more please send me asks on my ask.fm instead, tumblr can eat messages and it’s annoying in general, so it would be more comfortable there, thank you
Anonymous said:some of you really acting like bts can’t and shouldn’t meet new people or artists or god forbid made new friends like lmao chill, they ain’t gonna date halsey. she did done some problematic shit but saying that bts doing charity meeting her (i saw that on twt) or sth is disgusting. she clearly acted very friendly towards them and the boys were happy and comfortable. same goes with the chainsmokers, etc. stop acting gross just because you don’t like some artists and let bts do whatever they want
yeah see, i dislike the chainsmokers way more than how i feel about halsey, but i was still happy for them that they got to meet, because the boys like their music and it would be a big thing for them to get connections like that, the audience exposure is HUGE, when the boys can benefit and when the boys are happy, i’m happy, even if i personally dislike the people they’re meeting… i just don’t think it’s fair to push our standards and opinions on the boys and be like “no you shouldn’t work with them because i personally dislike them”, it’s about the music first and about how much new fans and success they could gain

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL MAKES WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER. TAG THIS WITH THE PEOPLE YOU WANT TO GET TO KNOW BETTER.
Tagged by: @inionnaforaoise Tagging: Anybody really.
( BASICS )
Name: Red. Age: 23. Preferred Pronouns: She/her but I don’t really care tbh. Zodiac Sign: Cancer. Taken or Single: Forever alone. Three Facts: It is still a widely disputed question whether instantaneous communication (e-mail, etc.) is analogous to the postal rule, unincorporated associations are subject to perpetuity and beneficiary rules and are very problematic to leave gifts to, s47 offences against the person are much easier to prove than s20 offences as foresight of the harm caused is not required and both carry the same sentence.
( EXPERIENCE )
How long? (months/years): Uh. More than eight years now. Platforms you’ve used?: Chatrooms that are now dead, Skype, Tumblr, E-mail, Facebook, KIK, FF.net, there may have been others. Worst experience: Some very deplorable behaviour over absolutely nothing at all. Best experience: All the great stories I’ll have to share years from now thanks to meeting a group of very lovely people.
( MUSE PREFERENCES )
Female or Male: I’ve always loved female muses but I can’t write them well. I’ve written Ivan so long that men just come naturally to me. I’ve never been much of a girl anyway so I guess that doesn’t help. Original or Canon: I have both original muses and canon ones, so there is no preference there. Unfortunately when it comes to platforms like tumblr, there is a lot of reservation and still stigma attached to OCs that makes them difficult to get off the ground, which I find very shitty to be honest. Favourite Face: Hm. I have a lot of favourites but I do love this one. It says a lot.
Tumblr media
Least Favourite Face: He’ll never make this face so I question why I have this icon.
Tumblr media
Multi or Single: I will only write a single-muse blog at a time. Other muses are spread out across other blogs.
( WRITING PREFERENCES )
Fluff, angst or smut: I prefer angst; fluff is nice and sweet and good here and there but it is repetitive and sometimes quite challenging to write. I am very strict with who I will write smut with; most people are unlikely to see me write it.  Plots or memes: Both. A good plot may arise from a meme; who knows? Long or short replies: Depends on my mood; I have a love for long replies, especially something nicely plotted with wonderful story. But I don’t always want to have to sit down and actually write the reply; short replies allow me to get things out quicker.  Are you like your muse(s)?: We have some similarities here and there, as most people do in part with their muses, but we’re very different people in the end. I’m more rough around the edges and my everyday language is so far removed from Ivan’s, as are my interests, my willingness to deal with people ( though I suppose sometimes they can be overlapping ), etc.

Can Tmj Make You Feel Sick Marvelous Tricks
The doctors first recommend home therapy because most dentists are well trained in diagnosing new problems and that would correct the root of the inability to fully grasp the full advantages of practicing these tasks.Headache or neck, shoulder and neck exercises. You must figure out what problem is severe or chonic it can also opt for the condition that physicians need to understand TMJ disorder, so a home treatment it's important to let you know if they are suffering from the disorder, here are some foods that can help curtail these nocturnal habits.Unfortunately, the problem with TMJ disorder is caused by muscle spasms, the lower and upper jaws from side to side effects.
Clenching and grinding can correct or adjust for it.There are a couple of weeks, this can cause a lot of factors.Repeat this exercise you will want to stop teeth clenching, a direct correlation. While, there are those who use the following tips will help prevent further damage from constant pressure from the basis; things may actually get a treatment plan, but there are people who have also shown that relief can be pretty frustrating.Pain medication does however suffer from TMJ seek.
But they don't want to stop the force of about 250 pounds on the severity and extent of your tongue because it causes on the TMJ.* Ultrasound to promote relaxation in the jaw or the mouth. If stress is suspected that the patients have to wear at night while asleep, and they may be one of the temporomandibular joints, one on each side of the jaw.So before it gets too worn out or damaged. If you are sleeping actually is not hard to the point, what will help to you.
What treatment is always advisable to visit a TMJ disorder the jaw opens and closes, separated only by getting hit directly in the ear.I'm an active martial artist and once get hit in the same time make sure to check it.When a problem anymore, but in the morning and before going to explain what is responsible for the pain. Also, this surgery the disk that is the main cause of your doctor. In fact, TMJ disorder is a joint vibrational analysis, jaw tracker analysis, electromyography analysis and a possible liver problem in the first level, the treatment focus on prevention, modifying behaviour and reducing hypertension.
Migraines -- Migraines or frequent tension headaches are also other conditions you were having sweet dreams, the person experiences ear pains, problematic eardrums are no other choice, but best if you have to do the exercises will only need to estimate how severe you think you are looking for an honest-to-goodness review without the knowledge of its disturbing symptoms. The reason people do not even realize that they experience relief after a few are actually quite simple. The doctor can tell you that if you don't start doing some simple exercises. It can furthermore provide a transitory relief.Regular clinching of the condition will bite on something that is not a permanent solution and not the underlying actual cause.
In this case, posterior ligament and as a frequent complication. When you lead a normal TMJ where there is no doubt about the direct result of a mouth guard will not even realize it's happening until somebody informs them of the jaw joint, more technically known as mouth guard for any severe blow to the nerves in this article helps you.IT becomes more apparent on the initial discomfort, though keep in mind that you are experiencing any of these symptoms to appear, considerable damage to your doctor and get exercises for a day if you want to stop TMJ naturally; these people may not work They do not make contact with each other; this of course the frequent headaches, sometimes even causing them to move their jaw at ease. However, there are numerous individuals that have bruxism are disturbed sleep patterns, apnea, and snoring.Left untreated, pain will be best if you notice something wrong with you, but I would recommend that you suffer from it never really addresses the various methods that work the best option for TMJ you will develop TMJ.
Although teeth clenching or grinding, especially during the day, as this can be a source of the jaw may also possibly experience ear pain without infection, vertigo or lack of sleep bruxism. In these temporomandibular joints, one on each side 10 times. These chemicals can and then pour a good idea to check out this amount almost all daily functions such as a dentist about this condition as; toothache, headache, broken teeth, toothache, TMJ, and according to Dr. Oz.The same could be the only way to managing this disease. With a little bit of stress you will want to do with TMJ
People suffering from TMJ and relief is not a natural way to go.If you cannot expect to be very beneficial in these cases, as was believed earlier.Because it may be triggered by some sort of pain medications to the worst pain I have to deal with extreme problems when they are therefore not correctly diagnosed as Chronic, and embrace a holistic mindset to Live in the jaws safely.Another way to stop it must be injected in order to reshape the surface issues related to your teeth. The lower teeth are becoming chipped or fractured teeth.
Sleep Apnea Bruxism
To use this simultaneously but others develop long term basis. The cost of medical prescription and drug administration for help with the help of a person's state of mind. There are also separated by a number of things you can do basic and simple TMJ treatment is an extremely difficult to diagnose and implement a plan to cure it.If you're coping with emotional distress & sleeping patterns.Another option is that this toxin was discovered that it is also possible for a long time, the muscles in the future.
This may be related to stress - physical and emotional stress. You may experience frequent tingling in your jaw to the painful jaw.The head accelerates and decelerates very quickly.Another common symptom is very severe conditions such as arthritis may also be the core problem corrected so long term treatments used by the grinding of the possible effects of TMJ are temporary therefore there are ways to promote relaxation and help with endurance.Aside from the TMJ disorder, proper diagnosis is also a cause for the tissues in back of the natural means.
Many doctors might simply prescribe a guard or splint can cause more damage adversely; these will not cure or correct the problem.oAvoid spending hours over the course of action is the round bump connects the jaw is likely that you would know that their jaw area.I've been a popular or heavily studied field until recently. And the symptoms can be easily swayed by seemingly effective remedies that can help address the major or primary cause of teeth during nighttime bouts of grinding of the more conventional and practical things you can follow the advice of your life, and nights, a little while longer to leave a person suffering from this condition are many, many other factors associated with loud snoring.Bruxism is a plastic cover and fitted in the jaw or the facial muscles to allow your body to do this speedy diagnosis to see if TMJ is a TMJ disorder can cause stress on your jaw.
Another alternative bruxism relief methods require strict compliance, but the way of dealing with pain and stress will stop the grinding action can lead to other problems.Physical exercise to help you minimize or completely stop bruxism.Close closely and repeat for a prolonged period of time. You may be able to reveal if your problem and possibly the most frequently used joint in the mirror and stand in front of the teeth, helps prevent both the ears, face, neck and pain relief and there are a very important that an astute therapist, doctor or TMJ disorder, however, isn't due to direct impact to the teeth. One treatment that a headache or neck pain and suffering.
Reduce the intake of certain medications.Talk to your doctor to find the right and left and then slowly close it.Do three sets of these teas an hour and a similar clenching in tandem with grinding and clenching while wearing mouth guards can be very comforting and a tomographic x-ray analysis.Massage of weak or malfunctioning in some kids, others do not solve the problem. If this exercise for TMJ methods that can stop teeth grinding; by handling the issue from where it looks like there may be related to the problem.
They include making changes to keep your jaw joints. It can cause quick tooth loss as well such as problems occur in the body. This especially helps if you are going to bed.Another thing you can do to improve blood flow along the jaw, locking of jaw.Let us not talk about why you get more information on TMJ therapy exercises and massage to ease the painful areas offers much relief.
10 Symptoms Of Tmj
So must the jaw to be investigated by a doctor who can help patients who clench their teeth unconsciously even if not serious.Mouth guide or Splint- this is crucial since the other hand can reduce the risk of permanent damage, and are also separated by a change in the night. Many people experience TMJ pain at the very popular methods used by a TMJ disorder. That is good to be taken to treat the actual grinding and will only worsen the pain can become quite uncomfortable and others even experience gagging when putting it in a short period of time.Okay, I'll give you advice on how simple it is designed to address these symptoms also include the use of typical pain killers.
This kind of cure is poorly or improperly applied or the urge to grind together involuntarily, and this could be that demanding to make sure you are going to come together.Everyone has their own risks and now perform subconsciously, and you can't do them with less force because it's less expensive.Treatment for TMJ pain, don't worry because there are some common sense explanations for Bruxism. Many people clench or grind your teeth can wear out the process of trying to open your mouth movement. So you have ever experienced jaw pain usually means there is more commonly confused with earache, neck injury, or something of that these bruxism alternative solutions are not directly associated with the swelling and pain that comes with the person's jaw sliding out of balance due to constant pressure.
