ALRIGHT, I ASKED FOREVER AGO, BUT WHO WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT MY ISA LOOPS AU??

Heads up this contains a lot, and I mean A LOT of spoilers for In Stars And Time. Including: = Act 6 spoilers, including main mystery and secret encounter = Minimal Act 5 stuff = And a bunch of extra stuff that happens through Act 3 and 4. SO BASICALLY ALMOST EVERYTHING, FINISH THIS GAME COMPLETELY BEFORE READING (ESPECIALLY THAT ACT 6 ENCOUNTER, IT WILL LITERALLY BE THE FIRST THING I MENTION UNDER THE CUT)

IN REPETITION AND CHANGE

Initial Concepts:

I feel it's important to show these sketches because they were the first ideas I ever had. I wasn't even entirely sure I wanted to make an AU at this point, I didn't even know how I'd approach it. But I started sketching and it's been on my mind since- SO! Isa is stuck in the timeloop. I know what his wish is and he DOES have a Loop equivalent! The grumpy dandelion guy is Roboro (it/they/he). Their name is a very small play on Ouroboros and they call Isa "Seedling". However, this post is not about them, as I'm gonna talk about it and Isa's dynamic in a separate post. In short, Isa is his normal loud self up until Act 3, right? They beat the King, they reach the end, and whoops, the loop isn't broken. So now, what happens is that Isa starts getting his brains out. He starts thinking more analytically and tries to problem solve.

The more stuck he gets in his head, the less he's able to perceive his friends as real people, and more like them holding him back. Because even if Isa explains that he's smart, that they shouldn't be surprised if he says something, shock of all shocks, reasonable- They'll forget it the next loop.

So Isa is stuck with trying to portray his confident, loud, supportive facade- Which is fine! It wouldn't be the first time! But it progressively gets more and more frustrating, as he tries to find answers and simply looses the energy to pretend to be stupid.

TL;DR: Isa in the timeloop, unlike Siffrin, becomes more distant and cold rather then something more akin to Sif's mania.

I imagine Isa didn't have this encounter the same way that Sif did. Yeah, frankly, Isa is pissed with the sadness- But that's not why he goes through with this.

In this moment, Isa is trying to kill two birds with one stone. He's trying to get through this quickly, as well as reassure Mira that they can do this! If he shows how strong he is, then she'll feel safe right???

Poor Isabeau forgot that whenever he shows that he thinks ahead, he scares people. How could he forget that? How could he forget that he's inherently---

Family Quest:

I still think Odile is the one to call out to him (same with sus quest).

The hangouts I'm still figuring out, cause I don't think they'd too similar to base game- But, fun fact, at the end of this run, everyone agrees to keep travel together!

Isabeau brings it up, can't hurt if you can fix your mistakes right? And everyone agrees. The relief on Siffrin is the most palpable thing Isabeau has ever seen.

Act 5 Tarot Card:

Thanks to @the-bitter-ocean for prescribing tarot cards to Isa (THEY ALL FUCK SO HARD) and for the RAW ASS LINE

If interacted with in act 5, predictably, Isa tears it apart. He doesn't need the divine judgement upon him, he's faced everyone's perception his entire life.

However, he tears it methodically. Tears it once in even pieces, twice, three times, and one of the pieces once more. In a way he isn't even getting his emotions out, it's like he's actively trying to tear it apart so it stops nagging him, like he wants to shut it up. Though, the Judgement card symbolizes rebirth, absolution and inner calling. In Act 6 he'd be able to look at it and find comfort and confidence in the card.

Act 5 Mirror:

And lastly, I have the Act 5 mirror picture. I haven't quite figured out how to make the normal ones work yet, however, I couldn't let go of the idea that Isa would not want to be in the picture.

The idea of seeing himself at all makes his head hurt and his stomach squeeze. The memory haunts him as he stands to the side and says the word. He didn't think the mirror would catch him.

AAAAND THAT'S ALL THE ART STUFF FOR NOW!!

I still have quite a bit of it to post, especially about Roboro, but I'm gonna leave it here for now.

I still gotta figure out the hangouts and potentially the dagger equivalent- but I have ideas for Bad Touch, the glass equivalent, and some extra little things that didn't happen in Siffrin's loops.

I needed to yap about this, because I've been slowly stacking up ideas and writing and I needed to share it at some point- If anyone read all this and has questions and stuff I fully welcome 'em!!

More sif from In Galaxies And Eons, he gets a bit worn-out whenever he loops.

My hc is he is affected by the craft exhaustion way more than normal sif, by way more I mean while in the loops, and that's because it's not just local to Vaugarde and is instead just reversing time completely! But his body does still feel the effects of it harshly, as each time he dies the scar on his cheek and the black bits of his hair, hat, and the inside of his clothes gains another star. All the black bits slowly turn a dark blue! Just cuz I wanna and I love blue.

If anyone is wondering, the scar on his cheek he got from loop, this loop spent way longer in the time loops than the original loop (around 10k I think?) And doesn't really talk to siffrin because of this. Loop attacked sif because he wanted to replace him and get back his actors.

From everyone else's perspective, they were a few days before they got to dormant and were taking a break when they heard sif scream, they rushed over and saw him almost dead being attacked by a "sadness" that somehow could talk? They hear it say something about ripping his skin off and replacing him, at which point they were able to save sif. Frightening loop, causing them to run away. Isa and odile noticed something in its eyes though... a weird shade that gave them a visceral feeling.

Bonnie wouldn't be able to leave sifs side after this, as they were told that he was 'just going to take a nap' and he ended up getting attacked. So bonnie sees this and knows that they can't leave the rest of the party anymore, but what's worse about it is that even though frin looks half dead, they're not bleeding, like at all. Instead, every scratch and wound is this weird back nothingness, which is even more reason to not let him alone ever again!

Mira tries her best to heal him, but nothing happens, almost like its permanent damage, like its scars, which stress her out even more! The person who she thought she could trust with her life is now badly injured because of her! If she just didn't ask him to come along, he would never have gotten hurt! It's all her fault! Its-

And isa would hide his true feelings about the entire thing, just trying to cheer sif up by telling him how cool he is for being able to hold his own against that sadness, they that couldn't even damage... wait what? Why couldn't they damage it? Why could only sif damage it? Well that doesn't matter! Sif looks really cool now! He tries his best to help out the freaking out siffrin.

Odile on the other hand would take that thought and run with it. When she saw that when they tried to attack the sadness, not only did it not flinch, like at all, it's form also didn't even react! No small bits of water, nothing. And then there's the fact that whatever it did to siffrin is permanent and can't be healed, what it said was weird to, not to mention that IT COULD TALK? No something wasn't right here... they should really talk to siffrin later.

Yes! I am using some headcannons for this! Specifically the loop appeared before the loops and was just hiding, the loop being sap!sif but I made him worse, and one thing that's just true, is that odile will know that isa also saw the weird thing and will talk to them about it and everything.

2 am isat ramblings

SPOILERS FOR THE WHOLE GAME (except twohats ending)

Okay so uh just a heads up im writing thus at 1 2 am (idk the hour really) so its gonna be a bit wonky but this game gas been keeping me up for the past two days so i need to ramble. about it.

Okay so DAMN. ACT 5 HIT LIKE A TRUCK.

So act 5 stars right before siffrin talks to the head housemaiden, except now instead of glitching and repeating the same things over and over the head just finally finishes her sentence and makes a coherent explanation of why siffrin will never go back and suffer for eternity. Well THAT HIT SO HARD. like siffrin was used to all that glitching and breaking down, but deep down he was sure there must be another way to escape the timeloops. But now that he actually gets a confirmation that he will NOT escape his loops, that just. Fucks him up.

But then comes the wish of the vaguardians. Upon them being mentioned he tries to think abd make a very tangled explanation as of why this wish didn't work and howhes gonna fix it. And what really broke me is how manic he acted, because in reality he was just trying to find out a reason as to why hes trapped. Like he tried to nitpick every single word from the wish and what the head told him for he just could not accept being stuck. At all. And he goes in this rabbit hole of thinking and thinking and thinking and he just comes to the conclusion that because HE is the CHOSEN ONE (instead of mirabelle), he needs to deal the last strike when killing the king. Now this sounds very specific and complicated, but he is not gonna let go. Nuh uh.

Now what gets me is how he acts towards his friends from act 5 onward. He literally doesn't see them as real people anymore. He is SO fixated on dealing the last strike and escaping the loop that he just expects everyone to act like some robots, some actors saying their lines. Thats because thats how theyve always been. Since he got stuck, he only hears the same blinding things from them; he even memorised eveyrones lines! But unfortunately having a half blacked out gacha life depressed emo kid face on isn't gonna go unnoticed by his fellow actors.

So he snaps at them. Points out every mistake in their personality and way of being. Because he got time to see every single thing about them, repeating over and over. Its like he actually expects them to know, to have noticed, just as he has, because he really cant think of how life was before the loops. He expects them to act normally when he tries to shorten the friendquests, he expects them to know the result, the aftermath, what theyre gonna say, cause siffrin is just trying to shorten the scene. But no. The others don't know, and never will.

Okay onto the next scene-

THE FIGHT WITH THE KING. oh. My god. Okay so first of all, the music. It was like hearing a song in your head. In a very small space. It was so damn awful, its like i could FEEL siffrins anxiety and tiredness. It was. An experience. Oh and how the king strated to actually get worried for him and suggest to stop the fight. Even though he was just trying to fool siffrin into getting beaten, it shows just how visibly exhausted the loops got siffrin to be. And whoah, just how raw the experience was when he was slowly getting frozen in time, unlike simply dying and looping back. I could really feel his exhaustion through the screen. It was, again, awful. 10/10

Okay last scene

THE VS FRIENDS SCENE OHHH MY GOD. Main character with group of friends who has deep problems and doesn't wanna tell anyone and reaches a breaking point and becomes a weird version of themselves representing their emotions while their friends are trying to get them back to normal? YES PLEASE. this moment got me so so so emotional i even shed a tear. Its just. my kind of emotional. I fricking loved it. 100/10

Okay im done w the scenes now ill talk about random stuff

Euphrasie scares me. She is just so... weird? Barely human like? I mean, yes the parts where she kept breaking down were really good, but seeing her so normal and unphased after everything that happened is just so... off? Okay thats all about her that I've got to say

MUSIC IN ACT 5

oh my god. I shit my pants when i heard the changed dormont town thingy place theme. Hearing something so similar yet SO DIFFERENT made me feel so strange. Its like the whole landscape changed. It didnt even FEEL like dormont anymore it was just - a place full of tension and tireness. Absolutely awful.

Oh and there comes the house theme. THOSE GLITCHING SOUNDS WERE MAKING ME SCREAM IN FEAR HELP. Everything was so sudden, and then boom its gone, then all the sounds are overlapping, it was like a quiet panic attack put into music. Awful. Amazing. Definitely delivers the point.

Oh and did i mention the pauses in the music. That felt so weird, sometimes i even thought either my game was broken or i had just gone deaf. And they were so random, thats what made it worse.

And also the points where you just get teloported into random rooms in the house? And some of them are even flipped, or just full of barrels? It legit reminded me of those glitches in old Minecraft, where youd get part of the overworld brushed into a plain or random objects spawning. Scary. Unnerving.

And the last thing i forgot to mention: how everybody started noticing everything siffrin did in the last loop: burnt sugar smell, the weird rooms in the house, the housemaiden glitching. Just shows how they arent some npcs, some actors, but are, too, living in the moment. Incredible, loved it.

Okay so thats all for now , might add smth later if my brain will keep me awake again lmao

Anyways 100/10 game.

Ps i cant wait to see what happens in the twohats ending. I hope loop isnt mad at us for forgetting about them :(

Making of Siffrin model!

If anyone wanted to know how exactly I made this model I will lay it out in detail here! Although this way my first time making something like this so I’m not an expert.

The base is polymer clay (super sculpey I think) with a wire armature shoved in there just in case I drop him. The buttons for the cloak and the dagger are also clay. I used a sewing pin to get a very small hole for the buttons to be threaded through.

After baking, I put base coats of black and white with acrylic paint. If the brush strokes for the white paint are very visible, water it down and do multiple layers until it’s opaque.

After the base coat I moved on to smaller details like the face and boot heels, as well as shadows and highlights. It took me a few tries to get the face right, the one shown above isn’t the final.

It’s also a very good idea to varnish it, especially for the buttons or paint will rub off when passing them through the buttonholes. DuraClear is pretty cheap and works well. A few coats ultra-matte over the whole thing, then gloss to areas that should be shiny (eye, boots, gloves, buttons, dagger blade).

The eyepatch is just a tiny piece of black felt and some embroidery thread Elmer’s glued to the face.

The hair I was going to needle felt, but my white wool(left) was slightly yellowed and it looks weird in context. I ended up using a piece of cotton(right) from my bottle of melatonin*, shaping the ends into tufts with Elmer’s glue, letting it dry, then attaching it to the head. For the dyed parts I used watered down acrylics. I worked drop the hairline inwards, then smoothed it out with loose bits of cotton and glue.

I am a bit worried the glue will end up yellowing in time, we’ll have to see.

*their hair does smell faintly of strawberries because of this. Also a cotton ball would work functionally the same.

For the clothes patterns I mostly just winged it, checking if it fit on the model until I got something I liked before cutting the pieces out of white and light gray felt. I did go a little off-model for the cloak because it needed to be removable.

I attached the cloak lining with a backstitch, and the collar with a whipstitch. The buttonholes I cut with scissors and whipstitched the heck out of the edges after making sure they were big enough. I had made sure the holes in the buttons were big enough to thread a needle through when I made them so I could easily attach them.

The hat brim pieces I whipstitched together while they lay flat on top of each other very close to the edge of the fabric. I did the same with the pointy part, but also flipped it inside out afterwards. I used a running stitch along the edge to attach the top and bottom brim, and a backstitch with the pretty side on top to attach pointy piece while kind of folding it so the edge lays flat against the brim.

The last step was to use very watered down acrylics to make it look weathered.

And that’s it! Not sure if anyone really wanted this, but I figure it doesn’t hurt.

In stars and Time one-shot fix-it fic

I have been plagued with visions of a nice ending for Siffrin and the others... KEEP IN MIND I HAVEN'T PLAYED THE GAME SO THIS MIGHT BE A BIT OOC!!! (also SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!) fic under the cut- no warnings apply, a little self insert deus ex machina, EVERYONE GETS A HAPPY ENDING GOD DAMNIT ------ ~1.6 k words

Ah, the head house maiden, after speaking to Loop... after speaking to himself Siffrin didn't know if he had the heart to speak to her once again and go back. So, he waited, and took in the starry night sky. The others sat in their usual spots, now very aware that their reality would soon reset once Siffrin decided to act, Mirabelle seemed more content, at ease, Isabeau was being his wonderful self, Siffrin almost didn't to look away, but Bonnie trying to catch Odile's attention was enough. a chuckle escaped him, he loved his family, he wished that this moment wouldn't last forever though, he wished it was allowed to move forward, that they were allowed to move forward and heal from the mental and kind of physical hell Siffrin had been going through for... long enough. Siffrin sighed, and stepped forward, and was immediately caught off guard by screaming. The others all sprung into action and ran to their side, but Siffrin wasn't screaming, neither were their family, the sky was screaming. A violently loud shooting star crashed to the ground right in front of the head house maiden, a crater quickly formed in the floor and, once the dust cleared, everyone marveled at the small form curled up and supposedly unconscious on the ground. Mirabelle was quick to bolt over to their form and check them over for injuries, Bonnie was shouting something to Odile and Isabeau, but Siffrin couldn't hear. something new had happened. They had to hold in their laughter at the idea of something changing this much, He stood, and marched over to the star's hunched over body. the moment Siffrin was close enough, the sprung up and grabbed his face. "you..." the star's voice was monotone, their eyes piercing and cold. "me...?" Siffrin was extremely uncomfortable with both the touch and proximity to this stranger.

"you... you are the accursed one." If there was one word for Siffrin's predicament, accursed was definitely up there. "Where is your other half?" Siffrin instinctively looked over their shoulder to their friends, their family, locking eyes with Isabeau for a moment before their head was unceremoniously jerked back to facing the star. "Not them, you." Ah, they meant Loop, they meant... himself. Siffrin stepped away from the star for a moment, contemplating if this would be a good idea.

"They're back..." Their voice was caught in their throat, Siffrin tried to breath, tried to think, but all they could do was fret over how Loop would react to... this. "Sif? you good buddy?" Isabeau chimed in, placing himself between the star and his friend. "sorry there pal, but Sif isn't super keen on the whole physical contact thing."

as if a switch had been flicked, the star flinched. and peered around Isabeau to Siffrin. "my apologies, I do not mean to cause you harm mortal." Luckily Siffrin's brain decided to start working again, they shook their head and laughed, an awkward sound that he'd made countless times since these loops began for him. "It's-" Before he could finish that stupid sentence, Odile cleared her throat and glared at Siffrin, Bonnie copied her to the best of their ability, Mirabelle held a much kinder expression, although it was much more exasperated. "...Thank you for apologising..." Bonnie and Odile nodded in unison, Mirabelle smiled and clapped at them. "I can take you to them." The party was out on another adventure already, Bonnie and Isabeau recounting their journey to the little star, they were barely taller than Bonnie was, which Bonnie chose to whine about at every opportunity. Odile happily chimed in to accuracy check the two, while Mirabelle kept the peace. "Are you from Space?!" Bonnie jumped up and down, holding onto the star's arm. "yes. I am a star." "That's so cool! What's it like where you're from? do you have food? do you play games?!" "I did not exist until just then and just now. I am a star, I provide warmth and light, but the universe had another need for me, and so I am here." "Wow, that sure sounds..." Mira's words died off as she searched for the least offensive thing to say to the star. "Lonely." Isabeau landed on. "boring." Bonnie helpfully added, now ceasing their bouncing, frowning as hard as they could.

"peaceful." Odile smiled curtly at the star, the star did not smile back.

"awful..." Siffrin murmured in the front, if anyone heard they chose to ignore it. "Unique!" Mirabelle was visibly sweating at this point. "what are you going to do once you're done here?" "I will cease to exist once more. I shall return to my place in among my fellow stars." Silence overtook the party for a long while after that, none of them had really worried about their mortality like this. Siffrin's heart was beating harder, a familiar tree came into view. "we're here." the others stood back, Siffrin took a deep breath, something new would happen, and he would do whatever it takes to make sure it was a good thing. "Bring me to them."

Siffrin and the star went under the overgrowth as the others sat on the cool grass. Loop sat on a stump, seeming to be lost in thought. "I'm back Loop, and I brought a surprise." He sounded all too tired. "oh! Siffrin! I didn't expect you to be back so soon, especially before the next-" The star locked eyes with Loop.

"hello there. I am here to aid you. you do not have a place to belong in this world, would you like to belong once again?" their voice was softer, almost impossibly so, as if there was a baby nearby that would wake at the slightest hint of sound. "I- I don't know. This is Siffrin's journey now, I don't want to take their family from them like mine was taken from me..." Loop held themself, averting the star's hollow gaze. "no one shall be lost, no one shall lose their place here, I am merely here to set things right and free you both from your fates." Both perked up at that. "wait," Siffrin interjected, far louder than the hushed tone the conversation started at. "does that mean they'll be no more time loops? that we'll be free?" "Yes." Siffrin, both of them, hadn't felt this hopeful for freedom in a very long time. "Give me your hand." Loop was hesitant, but... they were willing to do what it took to be their own person again. at the touch of the star's palm, light flashed from under the trees, gaining the party's attention. all four looked over as Siffrin emerged from the overgrowth, followed by the star, and an almost identical Siffrin. This one didn't have an eyepatch, yet their eye glittered in it's socket. their robes were a gradient of white to black with thousands of sparkles, their hat was missing, but they didn't seem too worried about it. "Guys," the first Siffrin started. "This is Loop, they were me before I was me." everyone was frozen, But Bonnie moved first. They tackled them into a hug. Everyone went over to greet their old friend, speaking to them felt like second nature... Siffrin smiled as a tear dared to fall down his cheek. "There cannot be two." The star's voice shattered the pleasant atmosphere. "there can be only one Siffrin." Loop's gaze turned downtrodden. "but, you can be someone new. someone unburdened by your past. you must give up your memories of your past life and all the feelings it brings you." Loop... Could be free? Free of the pain, of the grief, of the madness? there was no need for hesitation. "can they still come with us?" Mirabelle asked the star sheepishly. They didn't even think of that, of giving up their family. "of course, it shall be your choice what you do with your life from now on." Tears poured down Loop's face. "I guess, I shall see you all later?" Loop reluctantly hugged them all, nodding to Siffrin with the largest smile they could muster. "We're going to be free!" "we are." Siffrin couldn't help but return that smile. The star took Loop's hands, both their forms flickered and glowed, until there was but one form slumped on the ground before them. they had long hair, braided back with a small star charm at the end of it, a poncho that was stark black and grey with etches of the night sky all over it, their fingers were tipped black, like Loop's fingers once were. when they opened their eyes, two different shades of grey greeted everyone, with pupils in the shape of stars. "oh... my head." They groaned before Bonnie pounced on them. "Are you okay? you look super cool!" Bonnie asked too many questions too quick while their new friend stuttered trying to respond, Odile happily intervened, as did Isabeau, who had to physically pull Bonnie off their new friend. Mirabelle noticed something, Siffrin was sniffling, Siffrin had tears on his cheeks.

"are you okay Siffrin?!" She lept to his aid at the first sign of trouble, but Siffrin laughed, a real, genuine laugh. "I'm better than okay Mira, I'm free." Siffrin hugged her, it was quick and just as soon as it started it stopped, but Mira could feel tears of her own forming. "what's your name anyways?" Isabeau looked to their new friend and potential party member. "I'm... not quite sure... if I even have a name." Bonnie was on the case. "Oh! what if we gave you a name!" Odile patted the child on the head. "I think Siffrin should be the one to do it, what do you think Siffrin?" Siffrin thought for a moment... oh yeah, they had the perfect name. Siffrin chuckled and smiled at them. "starlight."
