went running and can report i'm still not that person
#'running is the best exercise you can do for muay thai' please don't say that#lie to me#jk it was alright. went to the park at 9pm and i've got a route now#ran some sections and walked others#so hopefully if i do it again (and again and again and again) i'll be able to keep up the running for longer#got a method of noticing change that way#which is something i'm historically quite bad at#tw for weight stuff in the rare event anyone is reading these tags#i've definitely gained muscle since starting this silly exercise habit thing#and i don't check how much i weigh because i don't care#and it would hopefully just go up anyway#but checked today for drug trial reasons and i'm 4kg less than last time? alright#again. genuinely doesn't mean much to me (anymore)#i don't think i need to lose any weight and tbh i'd rather not#but its still . ig. a sign that i've been consistent with something#which is SO hard#because i get into phases that go way too intense and then stop completely#but this is a normal amount to change by and i haven't done anything crazy#also kept it up for 6 months#so apparently i have the ability to form and keep habits now#and the weight is an indicator of that even if it was unintentional#(also for muay thai i have to be in a weight class)#(fighting is a long way off but it's at the back of my mind to pay more attention to it)#anyway. who would've thought i'd be doing this#✅️ learnt how to do habits at age 22

I'm only on episode 4 so no one tell me, but currently my biggest question about IWTV is "is Armand pretending to be Louis' PA?"
#iwtv thoughts#it's a good show!#I'm trying not to compare it to the books too much#aided by it being somewhere around two decades since I read them#I don't know what to make of Louis' retconning the story#I guess it was retconned anyway by Lestat taking over as narrator and flat out denying half of it#but tbh I was one of the few fans who believed Louis over Lestat for some of it#especially the bits where Lestat had been half dead and delirious anyway#(this is aside from the non-relationship retcons like Louis being black#which I think are good and also highlight the imbalance of power even while we are making Lestat somewhat less controlling)#the fact that Claudia was made on Louis' request rather than an attempt to babytrap him is probably the biggest change#...not sure why I put all this in the tags

today on tumblr user designernishiki’s autistic-with-a-special-interest-in-psychology deep dives: dissecting the hell out of kiryu/nishiki’s childhoods and kazama’s parenting (or lack thereof) and how it all relates to their emotional development (or lack thereof). they will never be safe from my psychoanalyses
#childhood development isn’t actually an area I have a ton of experience researching which is part of what makes this intriguing tbh#because I was basically thinking a lot about how it makes alot of sense that kazama being a semi-absent father figure would result in kiryu#idolizing and idealizing him to the (objectively unhealthy) extent that he does. because he wasn’t around super consistently kiryu would#hardly get to see/experience his flaws and have healthy disagreements and blatant differences with him and etc all-in-all making it so he’d#never really gain emotional autonomy and come to see him as a full-on person rather than an anti-hero character he wants to emulate as much#as possible. and by the time kiryu does come more face to face with kazama’s flaws and moral greyness he’s already well past the age range#where you’re supposed to develop emotional autonomy and have the most neuroplasticity to do so and thus it’s much more difficult for him#to deconstruct the idolized figure of kazama in his head. not to mention kazama died basically just as kiryu started to be confronted with#kazama’s less-than-perfect actions and traits and etc so he can’t humanize him through in-person experiences#it’s. a whole mess#I should save it for the big analysis post and not these tags fhshdjsnd#nishiki may have to be his own post completely because I feel like I’d end up having to talk about why he absolutely reads as borderline to#me and why it makes a lot of sense that certain symptoms/maladaptive thoughts/behaviors grow to be so out of control eventually#I have many thoughts about that boy and I already have many many notes on his potential bpd and image issues in general#hoo boy.#rambling

But. Yeah. i finished reading trigun maximum.
this manga ripped me apart limb from limb, then put me back together again. never have i felt a catharsis this deep before. a manga that made me cry seven times, as opposed to the previous record holders of two times each.
it really is something special. and i love it so, so, SO much.

i completely and absolutely hallucinated the last time i read firestar apparently bc i was ten thousand percent sure russ shot beargstrom at the end. i thought that man was so dead. so imagine my surprise rereading tfe properly rn.
(i was already too confused by whos who irt the bears last time anyway so if anything its making me feel LESS stupid that i just misread a paragraph and fucked up the entire plotline for myself <- it will happen again)

#putting these in the tags bc no one cares#I've been thinking about riko a lot recently bc of my ichirou/neil au#bc obviously there'd be a lot more interactions between neil and riko since neil is at the nest for like 4 years#and I feel like it's not really me viewing him sympathetically but more like I'm viewing him from the perspective of neil and kevin#who do sympathise with him#I incuded neil bc riko does some heinous shit in this au (even more so than in canon) specifically to neil#but it reflects how desperate riko is for his family to *see* him and for him to be able to keep things from slipping from him (kevin)#and I think the neil that goes through the character arc he has in this would understand that riko was suffering too#and most tragically he would probably pity him (which is the last thing riko would want tbh)#anyway yeah there's a convo between neil and ichirou during riko's funeral that I've been cooking and it's very much about riko#and about how neil thinks he could have been amazing if he had cared less about what his family thought of him and gotten away sooner#also if you've made it this far then listen to One by Sleeping at Last it's a very young riko song
