ooo okay this will be fun

teams i want to win the second round:

avs - i have almost no feelings about the avs unless my friends start writing nate/jo fic tbh..... if i'd gotten into hockey like hmm 18 months earlier than i did i think their cup run would have gotten to me, but alas

canes - i'm a fan of the canes thru friendship with @hopetorun in that i love to support my friends teams and also she's posted compelling things about them and she deserves for her team to win

panthers - this tbh is also for my friends but MOSTLY for my bracket. i actually love the cats i think they're fun and a lot of my friends love them in v infectious ways and also i really want something in my bracket to go right this year

other teams:

bruins - i love the bruins honest to god in almost every scenario i want them to win except this one. they're fun and also my bestie loves them more than anything and as we've established.... also trevor zegras to the bruins is maybe my dream destination for him (just had to throw that in there)

oilers - connor and leon deserve to win a cup together but otherwise it's whatev. fuck evander kane tho

canucks - i love them a lot tbh! i hope they win a cup soon but if it's not this year i do think they'll continue to be contenders for a while. that said fuck rogers arena, man, worst experience of my life

teams i wish had been swept in round one:

rngrs - i think most hockey teams play dirty but i hate this team for it the most and also outside of my handful of friends who are fans, their fans are some of my least favorite. the vibes are just so mean and angry and perpetually disappointed w both the team & fans and i just do not vibe with that energy!!

strs - i've disliked the stars for jamie benn reasons for a long time, like since before i really got into hockey even, and then they knocked the kraken out of the playoffs last year. they are MY number one kraken rival and the one team in the league i allow myself to indulge in my haterism for. unfortunately they say shit like "there is no fear in love" about this team so i am constantly being tested in my haterism. the vibes of the younger guys on this team are a test specifically for me from the hater gods and i am their strongest soldier. i hope they never win again and their good boys are scattered around the west
