I think a lot of internet discourse would be solved if people discussed with the intent of convincing each other, not some imaginairy audience.
#i think a lot of peoples only exposure to debates are either court dramas or political#in both of which the goal us to frame the opponent#which is stupid#because the only people you're convincing are the one's that already agree with you#and demonising the opposite side#In any good discussion if both sides have good arguments for solving a problem#the solution usually lands somwhere in the middle#and even if only one person is right#their opponent isnt gonna see that if your argunment starts like#okay. Actually - FUCK you.
