Omnomnom dehydrated apple chips are some of my favorite safe foods
Actually yk what I'll ramble about my sensory shit
So like I've loved spicy, bold flavours like hot cheetos, curry, buffalo wings, etc, and I'll never not accept them as a safe food.
Sometimes though my sensory needs just- change back and forth, like from "I will vomit if I eat avocado toast today" to "avocado toast is the only thing I will accept as breakfast today" which is I guess where audhd comes in. There are some foods that bypass all my shifting needs, like strawberries, dehydrated apples, hot cheetos, potato chips, and pasta (ESPECIALLY the bowties omg I love the bowtie pasta)
Aside from taste needs, sometimes I really REALLY need a tight hug, not because I'm having a rough day but just because my body really wants to be under pressure for like 4 seconds and then it's good, aND THEN IT SWITCHES TO "If my parents even just barely touch my hair I will die of the sudden itch and sometimes even pain"
Also florescent lights just kill me most of the time which is why I am very happy that most of my teachers don't have every light turned on in their classrooms
I need socks to walk anywhere around my house but I will have straight up insomnia if I wear them to sleep
I haven't ever gone fully non-verbal but when I talk I either have to repeat myself 4 times because of how quiet I'm mumbling, stutter too much to the point where I just restart my sentence after pausing, repeat a word when I didn't mean to (for example during a chapter review of Lord of the flies I said "Piggy and Piggy" instead of "Jack and Piggy" and I got laughed at D:) ORRRRR I NEED TO BE TOLD TO BE QUIETER BECAUSE I'M RAMBLING TOOFASTANDLOUDDD
I have two special interests: my OC lore, and Genshin Impact. My childhood special interest was- also my old OC lore (7 year old me had the amazing and magical story, ever so creatively named "the enchanted forest") that went on for like 4-5 years where I would always want to talk about it and think about it to sleep, aaaaaand My Little Pony (I'VE REWATCHED MLP AND NINJAGO BOTH LIKE AT LEAST 8 TIMES but I wouln't call Ninjago a special interest bc it was more of an on and off obsession-)
I do also have hyperfixations ofc and they usually last up to 2 months, pretty sure that lines up with the statistical average idk
Also sometimes I just need to- punch something with full force. I never get to though and Ik it'd feel great (I did throw a pillow like 5 times in a call with my friend when I was hyper though so like... I've been able to get that excitement out-)
I'm sometimes really slow or just straight up zone out mid-conversation which is frustrating on both ends
I have a wide and advanced vocabulary for my age but [read the prior paragraph on talking], I usually don't get to use it to it's full potential because of that issue .-.
(I just realized this whole rant about my stuff is gonna be perfect for if I can ever actually get diagnosed by someone yayyy)
Mom told me that as a 1-3 year old I never really played with my toys but just lined them up either by size or color (yk those like- tower thingies with the rings of differing sizes and colors? I always ordered them correctly just out of the need for it to look right)
When I was 5 this girl in Kindergarten had a sling on but it was a fancy bedazzled sling so I really wanted to feel the gems but she wouldn't let me and I got sad :(
I've always loved swings and those like- spider web climbing equipment, still do just because I like rocking around and being able to stretch and hang and maneuver around the differently angled bars/ropes on the spider web thing (SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THEY'RE ACTUALLY CALLED)
I also have this like- neck shaking and hand flapping tic/stim, sometimes it's uncontrollable sometimes it's a controllable urge, and when it's a tic it sometimes hurts or is just straight up excessive
Okay my mind is going blank now so buhbye this was super long if anyone read all of that- kudos to you, Idk why you would subject yourself to reading it all ok BYEEE

Ratatouille soup :00 that sounds so good!! I've always wanted to try ratatouille but put it off bc I don't like the texture of most cooked veggies
Could we get a recipe mayhaps? 👀👀
Oh definitely!!
I don't really have measurements, but I'll try my best! I always cook a little more, and freeze the rest. I have about four days of food with these ingredients.. I also eat fairly small portions though, so keep that in mind!
Without further ado, let's get to making the ratatouille!
For the ratatouille you need:
1 aubergine
1 courgette
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 to two red onions
1 can of peeled and diced tomatos
1 teaspoon of sugar
Salt, pepper to your liking
Herbs & spices of your choice (I use salt, pepper, rosemary, parsley and tumeric.)
Half a tube of tomato paste
And technically garlic, but I hate that stuff so I leave it out lol (about one to two cloves should be enough, the garlic should be minced)
Maybe rice, pasta or potatoes to eat it with. (I'll follow up on that later in this post)
for the ratatouille you gotta:
Clean and dice the aubergine
Put the aubergine dices in a bowl with salt and shake it up - cover up the bowl and put it aside.
Next clean and cut the courgette and onions. (& the garlic if you choose to add it). - Put all those in one bowl.
Now clean and dice the bell peppers and place those in a separate bowl.
Take the aubergine out and tap it dry with a paper towel & clean out the bowl - put it back in the bowl clean bowl for now.
Heat oil in a pan (any oil works but olive oil tastes best)
First add the courgette, onion (& garlic) in the pan and cook them until the onions are slightly see through.
When that's done add the bell peppers.
After those are integrated through stirring, add the aubergine.
Let the veggies cook for 5 minutes - keep stirring.
After 5 minutes add the tomatoes, tomato paste, the sugar and whatever seasoning and herbs you want. (I add salt, pepper, rosemary, parsley and tumeric.)
Cook the ratatouille for about 20 minutes on middle heat - don't forget to stirr it every once in a while.
Ratatouille pairs great with:
Rice, pasta or potatoes (I prefer rice).
Simply cook one of these in the 20 minutes the ratatouille needs to fully cook. - Keep it in separate containers, otherwise the add INS suck up all the moisture.
Also, Pasta & Rice Arend good to freeze & it doesn't work with the soup!
If you don't like the texture of cooked veggies, blending them into a soup could be the perfect solution. A friend of mine also has a sensory problem with those textures and she loves this soup. I have the same issue with mushrooms, so I also only eat them in cream soup form.
Sensory issues are way more common than most people think, it's nothing to be ashamed of! <3
So, without further ado, let's get to making the soup!
For the soup you need:
The Ratatouille (without rice, pasta or potatoes)
1 bunch of Parsley
1 Parsley root
1,5 Leeks
1 cup of Cooking cream (250 ml)
I also like to add 2 - 3 carrots, it's not a must though. - That just makes it taste a little different than ratatouille, and I prefer to not have the same tasting food two days in a row! (If you just want to make ratatouille soup right from the start, there's no need to add them at all)
What you gotta do:
Clean and cut/ dice the parsley, parsley root, leeks (& carrots)
While you do that, bring about two and a half cups ow tater to the boiling point.
Add vegetable broth, pepper and the veggies.
Cook until the carrots and parsley root are soft enough to easily poke them with a fork/ toothpick.
Take it off heat and add the ratatouille. [If you youse previously frozen ratatouille leftovers, keep it on heat until it fully unfreezes and heats up too.]
Leave it to cool off a bit before pouring it into a blender to blend it up. - otherwise the blender might leak/ the lid may pop off. [If you use a stick blender, you don't need to let it cool first & can just blend it in the pod you're cooking in.]
After it's pureed to your liking, pour it back into the pot and add the cooking cream (or vegan substitute) and cook under constant stirring, until it begins so simmer.
And now to the toping & side:
I highly recommend to top it with shredded chicken / shredded chicken substitute. - just fry it in a frying pan until it's golden brown. - Make sure to use the same oil you did for the onions & courgette in the ratatouille!
And flatbread with sesame seeds & poppy seeds is amazing to dip it in the soup. - simply heat it in the oven until it's nice and crunchy outside and fluffy inside (ca. 10 - 15 min at 150°C - that's 302°F)
And that's that!

Fingers crossed, white sheets, rose!!
I’m so sorry I didn’t get round to this before, these last couple of days have been pretty hectic. I got to fly back home and then I had to finish off some Christmas shopping, and today I was busy decorating a Christmas tree and catching up with my partner. I’ve this open in a tab since, man, I guess since Friday, so I apologise for leaving it so long.
rosè: what’s your opinion on shyness?
Throughout my life, I’ve often found that I’m most at home amongst introverts. This is a little strange, because I very much consider myself an ambivert these days, but this rule still applies as well as ever. I think, because I often get tired from socialising or sometimes don’t have the energy to socialise at all, this definitely means that the way I like to hang out and the way introverts usually like to hang out are really compatible. I often worry that I’m too full-on with shy people, though, because I talk very fast, very loud and an awful lot once I get going. I hope I don’t come across as really overwhelming because I wouldn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t blame someone shy for finding me to be a little too enthusiastic.
white sheets: where’s somewhere you would love to travel to? why?
Right now, I think the place I most want to visit is Italy. I couldn’t possibly specify further, because I’ve heard so many good things about so many different cities and regions, I’d honestly be happy to explore any part of the country. Italy is very much suited to the way I like to travel, which involves lots of exploring, visiting museums and cathedrals and other cultural sites, in amongst a friendly and familiar-feeling community. I think I would like Italy for the same reasons I like going to France and Spain, but Italy also has a huge benefit in offering me sensory security. As an autistic person who also has ADHD, you can imagine sensory issues can be a huge problem when it comes to big things like travelling. Though the length of time spent travelling is a pretty big factor in where I want to go, the biggest barrier between me and a lot of potential destinations is food. I always struggle finding places I can comfortably eat when I’m away from home, and aside from the UK and US, I’ve found France to be the most palatable to my tastes so far. However, Italy offers not just foods I can tolerate, but a lot of foods that I really enjoy. Breads, pasta and pizza are a huge part of Italian cuisine, especially the more touristy areas, and I honestly think that would be a huge relief in terms of how much I would enjoy the holiday.
crossed fingers: using no negative words, describe your hair.
My hair is soft, pretty short, and as of this afternoon, blonde. I have an undercut, though it’s getting a little long, and it feels really nice and fuzzy between my fingers. My hair is naturally really straight, too, so I very rarely use product in it. Honestly, this year I’ve had a lot of fun with my hair and there has never been a time I’ve really disliked it. I’ve had it natural, I’ve dyed it green and pink and black, and then that faded to a nice chocolate brown, and this afternoon I bleached it bright blonde for the first time in ages, which feels really nice. Even using a standard drugstore box developer it doesn’t feel damaged, and I’m honestly loving it a lot right now.
